Something about birthday’s + confessions is nice to me i think so here you go:
Celebrating Josh’s birthday! MWAHAHAHAHAHA THE ROT IS STEALING MY SOUL anyway i am thinking about celebrating Josh’s birthday. Maybe you guys are on tour when it happens, Tyler flailing around on stage, Josh drumming like he was leading an army to battle, and you screamed along with Tyler as you surfed the crowd atop a mattress.
And then maybe before Tyler starts the next song, he captures the audience as you are brought to the stage by the hands of your laughing fans. “So, as you know, we have a birthday today!” Tyler’s giddy voice made you laugh as you reached the stage and accepted his hand. He pulled you to your feet and handed you the mic, glancing over at Josh.
“And as tradition has it, we gotta sing the birthday chant to make that little guy over there keep growing! Sing it with me my friends,” you said, leading the crowd into the ‘Happy Birthday’ song.
And then i’m thinking maybe Josh bounded over to his favorite people ever and threw an arm around each of your shoulders as the crowd of people were delighted to sing a song to him. “Thank you,” he said into your ear over the crowd, earning himself a bright smile from you. Sweat dripped from you whole body but so was everyone so Josh didn’t mind when you rested your head against his body as the crowd cheered.
“Okay you little lovebirds,” is what i think Tyler would say as the ovation was over. “Let’s get this show on the road!”
And then I think later after the show when you’re on the way to the suite booked by the manager, you’re looking for a bottle of water when Josh puts one in your line of sight. He puts one in Tyler’s lap- though he’s too busy texting Jenna to notice right away- and leans back in his seat by you. He rests his eyes for a minute while you absolutely house that water. “Thank you guys.”
You finish your water and pull at your still sweaty shirt. “For what, J?”
Tyler peers pver at Josh. “What’s up, man?”
“I just- Today was awesome. Playing with you will never get old. I’m so glad to spend the day with my favorite people doing, you know, what I love,” Josh would probably shrug a little, knowing exactly how cheesy he sounded. “And then having you both sing… thank you. For it all.”
You smile so fondly at Josh he feels his heart physically crack because what he really wants to say is “You’ve been with me since I joined and you have seen my highs and lows and loved me like Tyler has but I want secretly want you to love me in a different way and I want you to love me in the way that when you see me you feel like your heart will carve itself out of your chest to get to me because that’s exactly what happens to me when i see you” but you know, he can’t.
Tyler sighs. “Dude stop saying this cute emotional stuff when I’m all sweaty and disgusting. I’m going to force you into a group hug when we’re all clean! I just hope we get there soo- we’re here!”
You and Josh laugh as Tyler hauls ass to go shower. “Just for the record, I do have some stuff baked for you. Tyler help with the cookies- they were his idea, actually- and was super proud of them so make sure you gush over them for a while.”
Josh laughs. “I will,” he says as he wrapped an arm around your shoulders. “What did you make?”
“It’s a surprise! Jeez, Dun. Greedy much?” You chuckle, pressing the button to the floor that Tyler had sprinted to.
You yawned and closed your eyes. Leaning your head against Josh’s sturdy form, you felt like telling him would be a good idea. Telling him that you thought of him as more than a band mate was growing more appealing as he insisted on staying by your side. But just as you opened your mouth, the elevator dinged and you were on your floor!
Oh well. Maybe you’d tell him later. Or never. Josh urged you into the hall and towards your room. “Good job tonight, y/n. I’m proud of you,” he said, unlocking the door for you. “If you’re up for it, Tyler and I’ll be up for a while. Probably. If you’re too tired,” Josh said through a yawn as he leaned on the door frame, “then that would be a good night. Fare well, good lady.” He bowed dramatically, heart pounding dangerously as you giggled. You pulled him up by the collar and gently shoved him out the door.
“I’m bringing your food after I shower, Joshua Dun. Go clean up, you stink,” you say, smiling as you shut the door.
Tyler raises an eyebrow as Josh steps into the room. “So?”
Josh stops. Blinks. “So…?”
A heaving sigh. An eye roll. “Dude are you serious? You haven’t told her? I gave you the perfect time!”
“Oh that’s what that was?” Josh exhales and drops to the floor. “What do I do, man? She was like… leaning on me and stuff and- dude, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
“It’s not like you should tell her or anything,” Tyler grumbles. “Okay. Josh. Trust me when I tell you if you just talked to her, you’ll… feel better.”
Josh groaned. “‘Feel better’? Really?”
“Aayeah!” Tyler answered enthusiastically. “Now please, go get clean, birthday boy! And get ready for those birthday spankin’s!”
Sighing, Josh rose from the floor with a groan. “Okay.”
Only thirty-five minutes and three showers later, the trio reunited in Tyler and Josh’s hotel room. You knocked and Josh found himself racing to the door, hoping that it was you. You brandished a cake with beautiful frosted flowers and even a few decorative paper frogs taped to toothpicks. ‘Josh’s Day!’ was iced in a teal color in the middle with three smiling stick figures holding hands. Josh, naturally, was in the middle with a crown- Tyler on the right and you on the left.
“Do you like it?” You asked. Josh had been standing- observing- very carefully for eternity. Tyler even swaggered over, fawning over the detailing. When he looked at you with furrowed eyebrows, you whipped the bag of cookies from behind your back and handed it to a squealing Tyler. “J?”
The birthday boy in question looked up slowly and his eyes flitted from your eyes to your lips to the cake. “Y/n. I love it. Come on.” His hand rested on your back as he moved you forward to close the door and guide you to the kitchen of the suite.
Josh insisted on cutting the cake; saying how you’d gone to too much trouble to worry about cutting it. Josh also took three of the little cookies Tyler made, admiring each cookie respectively before destroying the little creature in one bite.
So that’s how you found yourself here, on the hotel couch, sitting between Josh and Tyler watching some movie Josh picked out while you and Ty were debating about the kind of tea you would be trying the next day. After yawning dramatically, Tyler patted your knee and ruffled Josh’s hair. “I bid you my goodbyes, friend and family member.”
“I-I’m the family member, right?” Josh asked. When Tyler didn’t answer, you chuckled. “Right? Tyler. Right?”
Tyler giggled mischievously. “Whatever you say, buddy!”
You laughed out loud as Tyler shot the both of you a winning smile and went to his bedroom. Josh’s lip jutted out. “Aww, Josh, it’s okay. Sometimes you just need to realize your competition,” you offered while rubbing his back consolingly.
He squinted at you before launching: fingers poking your sides, tickling your sides, and making you squirm. “Funny now?” He asked through his own laughs, catching your hands as you started swinging. His fingers danced over your stomach before he stopped to catch his breath. And that’s when he noticed… you. Under him with your chest heaving and your wrists restrained by Josh’s large hand above your head. Was it him or where you looking at his lips?
“Hey Josh?” You croaked after a few minutes of silence. Your tongue darted out to lick your lips- looking more delicate and delicious being lit bu the soft glow of the television.
His chest rumbled as Josh hummed. His hips were hovering just over yours and the silence made him very aware of that fact.
“I need you to kiss me or tell me go to my room.”
Josh’s lips fell to yours, hot and restless and explosive. He removed his hand from your wrists and came to the back of your neck to mould your mouth even closer to his- if that was even possible. Your own fingers slid up the nape of Josh’s neck to grip his curls. A whine escaped his throat and boy howdy did you eat that up.
Idk. Maybe maybe maybe. Maybe Josh pulled away first because he needed air, but as a professional singer you could’ve gone another solid thirty seconds without air. Maybe Josh rested his forhead against yours and closed his eyes because if he saw that look in your eyes he’s implode. Maybe Josh murmured ‘best birthday ever’ before kissing you again. Maybe. Idk. Im not there.

hi! i wanna start by saying I love your writing and I was wondering if you could write some nsfw hc for tyler (tøp) regarding oral sex (whether giving or receiving) thanks!!
Tumblr media
you suck
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings: baby drabble, oral giving + recieving, hair pulling, cum eating, kissing after???
nsfw below the cut 🦕
giving:
hes such a giver, like hed get off when you get off ykwim, hed be so gentle but harsh with how desperate he is to eat your pussy, hed be drowning himself but he just cant stop.
“tyler please please, so good-“ youd whimper out softly, your noises make him moan into you sending a sharp vibration through your cunt. you were flowing onto his tongue like a fountain and he loved it.
hed love when it all becomes too much and your fingers lace through his scalp grasping at strands of hair and using him like a pawn as you pull and tug.
he would not be scared to lick you clean, he much rather him suck and lick you until youre all dry and shaking than wipe you down with a towel, he thinks its a waste honestly
recieving:
he puts your comfort first always, letting you choose where you wanna be, where you want him to be, how deep, hes gentle.
“c’mere baby let me help, shh thats better yeah?” hed talk so soft in that tone you fucking love, all the while hes gathering all your hair into his big hands to twist into a little ponytail!! you notice how the more desperate he gets the more hes using the ponytail as a joystick of sorts.
“shit so pretty-fuck-thank youuu” hed whine as he yanks you by your hair up to his tip and pushing down to get a little more, not too much but just enough.
he wouldnt be the type to be grossed out by his own cum hed always kiss you after, he doesnt want you to feel used hes always romantic. he likes that your sharing what spilled all over your lips with his.
also if you really wanna make him see stars wait till hes really close, pull yourself off of him and instead jerk him off while looking him dead in the eyes, maybe even put your tongue out… he will go insane.

Copycat - Josh Dun x Reader
Pairing: Josh Dun x GN Reader
Warnings: None! Super fluffy <3
Word Count: 690 - nice and short!
A/N: I got my hair toned back to the copper colour I normally have today so thought I'd write a little imagine/drabble where the reader gets matching hair with Josh.
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you want to come?” Josh asked, putting on his shoes. His hair had grown a lot more than we’d expected it to on tour so he was making an errand to a salon.
“Yeah, why not?” I smiled, leaning against the doorframe of our hotel room.
“Well I’m going to get it dyed too Y/N. Tyler asked me to do something for the new album so it’s gonna take a while.” He finally stood up and grabbed his phone and wallet. I put on a hoodie and quickly ran after him towards our car. “Are you just gonna sit there the whole time?” Josh asked, pulling out of the parking lot. I shook my head as I plugged my phone into the aux and played ‘Drive’ by Ashton Irwin, one of our favorites.
“I’ll get a cut too. What’s your plan for coloring it?” I’d already had a rough listen to some of the band’s new music so had an idea of what the aesthetic they were going for was.
“Probably keep my natural color on the top and dye the underside red. I know it sounds weird but it’ll look cool, trust me.” We parked right in front of the salon and Josh quickly got out to open the door for me. Josh had already started talking to one of the workers when another came and escorted me into a chair on the other side of the salon than him.
“So, what are we gonna do? Tell me the plan,” the hairdresser beamed. She had long bright pink hair and a huge smile on her face.
“Well, my boyfriend over there, he’s getting his hair dyed a red color and I want to surprise him by doing the same. I like the current hair color I have but I just want highlights of the red if you know what I mean,” I tried my best to describe what I want without drawing attention to myself. The hairdresser knew exactly what I was describing and asked her colleague what color she was mixing so she could put the same on my hair. I sat in the chair chatting away while she washed, cut, dyed, washed again, and dried my hair. Luckily Josh was taking the exact same amount of time–I was even finished before him! We spun the chair around so I could get a glimpse of my hair before Josh could see it.
“Oh I love it! Thank you!” I hugged the hairdresser before she handed me a branded beanie to hide the hair till we got back to the hotel. We quickly exchanged numbers so we could meet up next time I was in the city.
“He’s going to love it Y/N! Oh and I can’t wait to see you again, we should get coffee next time you’re around,” she beamed, before walking me to the front to meet Josh. His hair looked amazing, the exact shade of red I had. He looked happy which always made me happy. We paid for the services and walked out to the car.
“So, are you going to show me your haircut or are you going to hide it under that beanie for the rest of eternity?” He laughed.
“Are you sure you’re ready? It’s going to blow your mind Dun!” He nodded eagerly, “Close your eyes then. I’ll make sure it’s not frizzy.” Josh placed a hand over his eyes while I took off the beanie and ran my fingers through my hair till it looked good. “Okay you can look now.” He opened his eyes and they instantly went wide.
“Holy shit,” Josh never swore, which instantly concerned me. Had I gone too far? Did he hate it? My brain darted and dashed in every direction trying to figure out what I could do to fix what I had done. “I’m so lucky. You’re beautiful… you’re gorgeous. Not to mention the fans are gonna go crazy about this, Tyler’s going to love it!” He cupped my face as he pressed his lips to mine. “You’re my number one fan Y/N.”
"“Always and forever.”

"What's cooking good looking?"
Pairings | Josh Dun x GN! Reader drabble
Band | Twenty one piolets
A/n | gave in, and I'm writing for tøp again. Back in 2015, I used to write for them RELIGIOUSLY on one of my old accounts,, this is just something short for all my josh lovers out there! Do keep in mind it's been a WHILE.. since I've written, so I'm still getting back in the groove of things!
Tumblr media
9:30am
The sounds of clanking of pots and pans in the kitchen caused you to wake up, the sun pouring into the room you shared with your boyfriend of 5 years, josh. As you stirred awake you let your eyes adjust to the light of the sun, trying your best to rub the sleep out of your eyes you placed your hand on joshes side of the bed but..it was empty, clearly he had been gone for a while as the sheets were cold. Not warm like they would usually be in the mornings with a sleepy josh who was sleeping like a rock as his arms were wrapped around you. You let out a soft sigh and stretched in your place. Once fully awake, the smell of burnt bacon hit your nose. Your face scrunched up a little at the smell, not really expecting it. The realization that josh was in the kitchen downstairs cooking (or well trying to..) breakfast made you smile to yourself. He was never the best cook, which is why you took on cooking, always making the best dishes. You kicked your legs over the bed and stood up, stretching once more with a soft grunt you began to make your way out of the room and quietly downstairs, making sure to watch out for any creaky step that might signal that you're awake.
As you carefully and quietly made your way to the kitchen, the smell of the poorly made bacon got stronger, as you approached the doorway you could hear josh quietly (yet not so quietly) cursing under his breath. Once he was fully in view you could see he was shirtless, only in some jeans that he threw on and struggling oh so badly..his back was facing you as he tried his best to flip bacon that was way beyond saving while also trying to pour pancake batter into a different pan that laid on the messy stove top. Quietly you chuckled to youself as you made your way to step behind him, wrapping your arms around his toned body and laying your head on his back.
"What's cooking good looking?"
You asked. Your voice had a hint of playfulness in it as you nuzzled your head onto his skin. He tensed up a bit before turning his head to look at you a little while still trying to cook. He relaxed his body a little as he nervously chuckled, his cheeks tinting a soft pink,
"Hey babe did I wake you? I'm so sorry this was supposed to be a surprise I wanted to cook you breakfast in bed but uh..well it's not going all that great.."
Josh muttered, shame and disappointment clear in his voice as he let out a soft sigh. Clearly, he was stressed about this whole breakfast debacle. He stared down at the now charred bacon and pouted a little. He turned around in his place carefully, so he was facing you and wrapped his arms around you. As your head now laid on his chest, you could hear his heartbeat that was oh so soothing. You smiled up at him, scanning over his face taking in every detail. It was moments like these that you loved so much.
"Oh josh..you didn't have to do that"
You said softly as you squeezed him gently, josh smiled down at you, he let out a sigh before shrugging, a hum left his lips
"I wanted y'know? Just treat you to something to show you I love you, you've been working nonstop and never give yourself a break so I just wanted to make things a little easier for you"
Tumblr media
Josh said as his chocolate colored eyes gazed into yours.
"Josh I know you love me, and I love you too..so very much. I appreciate you trying to do this for me it's a sweet gesture"
you said as you looked up at your boyfriend.. There was a moment of comfortable silence between the both of you, josh moved his hand to cup your face, leaning in and pressing his lips gently to yours. The kiss lasted a few seconds. It wasn't lust filled it was more soft and filled with love and care. As the two of you pulled back, the sounds of sizzling and the scent of burning breakfast got stronger by the second. That's the moment when you both realized that the stove was still on and still had forgotten breakfast on it. Immediately, panick filled the both of you. You pulled away from josh and pulled the now completely charred bacon off the stove, and he pulled the very badly burnt pancake off the other side and haphazardly tossed It into the sink. Once the stove tops were off, josh let out a sigh of relief, a somewhat panicked look still on his face. You set the pan on the other side of the counter and began to chuckle, this cause josh to laugh. The whole situation seemed so silly to the both of you.
"Jeez this whole thing is a mess..now i remember why I don't cook"
Josh said with a nervous chuckle as he leaned against the counter, running his hand through his hair as he looked over at you. You smiled at him and walked closer, chuckling slightly as you wrapped your arms around him, placing a quick peck on his cheek, causing his cheeks to turn a light pink
"Well, josh, you might not be the best cook, but you are the best boyfriend, and honestly, that's all i could ever ask for."

Hard Feelings
Pairing: Josh Dun x Reader
Warnings: Profanity, small anxiety attack, angst
Word Count: 4245
Request: josh and bed sharing 😭😔💕✌🏻 -@panickedbrain
Author’s Note: Hopefully this super long fic makes up for my sporadic posting schedule! I hope you enjoy it :) (picture credit)
Tumblr media
“Here, let me get that for you,” Tyler said, grabbing your duffle bag from where it had been crammed into the backseat.
Shortly after waking up drenched in sweat, you had received an email from your apartment building that the air conditioning had stopped working overnight and was in the process of being repaired. That part had been manageable, even if it meant sitting on the couch in an oversized t-shirt directly in front of a fan on full blast, but by the time lunch rolled around, a second email had come through saying the issue was much bigger. The estimated time until it would be fixed?
Three days.
You had called Tyler immediately, asking if you could crash on his and Josh’s couch until the issue was fixed. After ten minutes, and what you assumed had been a household meeting, you got the confirmation that you would have a nice, air conditioned place to stay until your own building was back up and running. Half an hour later, you were speeding down the highway towards Josh and Tyler’s house on the edge of Columbus, a duffle bag full of your essentials tossed into the backseat.
“Thanks,” you said, slamming the trunk closed after him and hitting the lock button until the car beeped. “And thank you again for letting me crash here until my building is fixed. I don’t think I would have lasted another hour in that heat.”
“It’ll be nice to have you around.”
“I doubt Josh shares that sentiment,” you snorted. Ever since you and Josh had met, there had always been a sort of rivalry between you two: he teased you about not going on enough dates while you teased him about going on too many. This, of course, was only an elaborate coverup for how you truly felt about him.
“You’d be surprised, he actually seemed pretty excited to have you around.”
“Are you sure about that?”
“I’ve known him for three years, of course I’m sure.”
You followed him into the house, instantly reveling in the feel of cool air washing over your body. Tyler, not even slightly phased by your reaction, continued to walk straight into the living room and dropped your stuff onto an unoccupied chair in the corner. This, you assumed, would be your closet for the indefinite future.
“Where’s Josh?” you asked, realizing that you had been inside the house for more than thirty seconds without hearing a sarcastic remark.
“Out on a run. He should be home soon.”
“In this heat?” You looked out the window, as if to confirm that the sun was still, indeed, shining.
“I don’t claim to understand his actions,” Tyler said, holding his hands up in defeat. “Want anything to drink?”
“I’m ok, but thanks.”
You finally sat down and kicked your feet up on the coffee table, allowing yourself the first moment of true relaxation since you had received the email from your building earlier that morning. Tyler continued on into the kitchen. The sound of cupboards being closed and cups clinking together filled the once-quiet house.
You were about to ask Tyler about a recent date that he had been on when the front door swung open, letting in a gust of warm air. The conversation was immediately forgotten as Josh stepped through the door, his chest still heaving beneath his sweat-stained top. Strands of hair were pressed to his forehead, but he quickly ran his hands through them and pushed them back, making a mess of curls on his head. He started to look your way, so you quickly averted your eyes. The magazine on the table sure was interesting, huh?
“Hey, Y/N,” he said. You could detect his shortness of breath in the way he was talking.
“Hi,” you said, shooting him a smile as if this were the first time you had laid eyes on him. “Have a nice run?”
“It could have been better.”
He bent down to untie his shoes. His shirt - which really should have been considered a tank top, considering how much of the sides he had cut away - fell forward, revealing his sweaty chest underneath. You only stared for a moment before ripping your eyes away, already feeling your cheeks get hot. It just so happened that this was the moment that Tyler walked into the room. He caught your eye and wiggled his eyebrows, which earned him an eye roll.
“You know you want him,” he mouthed.
“Shut up,” you mouthed back.
Josh finally stood up and stretched. Though it was tempting to glance at him, you kept your eyes fixated on the posters hanging on the wall. Tyler already had too much ammo to tease you with as it was.
You were relieved when Josh finally went upstairs and you no longer had to overthink every glance in his direction. Tyler collapsed down onto the couch next to you and took a long sip of his drink before kicking his feet up onto the coffee table.
“Should I even say it?” he asked.
“It wouldn’t work, Tyler.”
“How do you know? Have you dated him before?”
The shower started to run upstairs.
“I don’t need to date him to know.”
“I’m sorry, Y/N, but that’s a little ridiculous.”
You turned to look at Tyler, letting your head roll back so that it was rested on the cushions. He took a sip of his drink and raised his eyebrows, waiting for your answer.
“It’s not! All it takes is one glance at us to know that we’re complete opposites, and we’re always poking fun at one another about it. He’s outgoing, confident, charming, willing to take risks… we really couldn’t be more different.”
“Haven’t you heard that opposites attract?”
“Haven’t you heard that’s bullshit?” you scoffed.
“Are you kidding? Josh always flirts with shy people because he thinks it’s cute.”
“Well he’s never flirted with me, so that must mean that he doesn’t think I’m cute.”
“Now that’s bullshit if I ever heard it,” Tyler snorted.
“Name one time Josh has ever flirted with me.”
“Are you kidding? You two were all over one another at the arcade the other night.”
“I was trying to beat him at skeeball!” Tyler shot you a look. “What?”
“All I’m going to say is that he wasn’t having a skeeball competition with anybody else.”
You rolled your eyes, “Whatever, Ty.”
“Come on, Y/N, will you at least give it a shot? One date?”
“I’m not putting our friendship at risk for the sake of one date that wouldn’t tell me anything.”
Tyler sighed loudly. “One,” he said, dramatically holding up his pointer finger, “one date is not enough to ruin a friendship if the friendship is strong enough. And two,” his middle finger flicked up to join the first, “one date is enough to tell you everything. How many times have you called me after a first date to tell me about how it wasn’t going to work out?”
You crossed your arms across your chest. Tyler was right and you both knew it.
“I’ll try, alright? But I’m going to take it at my own pace. And I don’t want there to be any meddling.”
“No promises,” Tyler grinned - a pit formed in your stomach - and leaned over to bump your shoulder with his own.
Before you had a chance to plead with Tyler not to get into the middle of it all, Josh came back downstairs. He was wearing a pair of basketball shorts and a loose tank top, though it wasn’t as revealing as the one he had worn on his run. His hair, no longer sweaty, was still soaking wet and falling in loose curls around his face. Water dripped from them, running down his collarbone until they hit the hem of his tank top. Tyler gently reached over and pressed on your chin so that your mouth was no longer hanging open.
“What did I miss?” Josh said, grabbing the neck of his tank top and using it to wipe away a stray droplet of water.
“Not much,” Tyler chimed in before you had a chance to. “We were just talking.”
“Were you dying of boredom without my presence?” Josh grinned.
“You wish,” you scoffed. Tyler shot you a look, clearly unamused by your sarcastic remark in place of flirting. You shot him an apologetic smile when Josh wasn’t looking.
“So, Y/N, Tyler said you’re going to be staying with us for a few days,” Josh said. He slowly made his way into the living room and lowered himself onto a chair, obviously still feeling the effects of his morning run. His legs stretched out, making his shorts slip just a little bit further up his thighs. The hangnail on your thumb suddenly became very interesting.
“Unfortunately,” you said, looking up for just a second to meet his eyes.
“Oh, come on, am I that bad?” he stuck out his lower lip. You chewed on your own to hide the smile threatening to overtake your face.
Distracting was a better word.
“Tolerable,” was the one that left your mouth, however. “Most of the time.”
“You know,” he said, holding his hands up in defeat, “I’ll take it.”
“What have I gotten myself into?” Tyler sighed, tilting his head back to look at the ceiling.
Josh answered, “Three days-”
“-give or take-” you chimed in, wincing a little as you pulled on the hangnail too hard.
“-of fun.”
“Fun,” he nodded. “Right.”
Tumblr media
“Alright, I’m back,” Tyler said, gently sitting back down on the couch and resting his cup of water against his legs. “Everyone ready?”
You and Josh answered with mumbled agreement. After a busy afternoon of reading and writing music - ok maybe your afternoon wasn’t that busy - the three of you had settled in the living room to watch the latest Netflix series together. The plan had been to only watch a few episodes and then go on a late night drive together, but it ended up sucking all of you in. Now, half past midnight, you were all still lounging in the living room watching the fifth episode of the series.
“This is the last episode for me, though,” you said. “I need to sleep at some point.”
“Good plan,” Josh nodded.
You turned to smile at him - the two of you had been getting along really well all night and you were beginning to think you might be able to follow Tyler’s suggestion after all - but your eyes went directly to his phone. His fingers were flying across the screen as he typed out a message to someone whose name you couldn’t quite make out. It only took one winky face emoji for you to figure out the nature of the message he was sending.
Maybe you didn’t even need one date to tell you everything.
Josh slipped his phone back into his pocket and you pushed yourself a little further into the couch, stretching your legs just enough that you could jam your toes into Tyler, a form of subtle punishment for getting your hopes up. He playfully pushed them away and you relented, not wanting to make him genuinely angry. He had only been trying to help, and it’s not like he had any control over Josh’s dating app habits.
You tried to get comfortable and pay attention to the show, but thoughts about Josh kept creeping back into your mind. It didn’t help that the fan in the corner of the room kept carrying the scent of his shampoo towards you. It was clean and nice and reminded you of mornings on tour when Josh would join you at the table to eat his cereal and ask you how you slept and tease you when you would tell him he was in your dream. Because that’s what you did: you teased one another and poked fun at your dating habits and most definitely didn’t flirt.
You pulled your sweatshirt up over your nose so that the only thing you could smell was your laundry detergent and the musty smell of your apartment that lingered on everything you wore. Now was not the time to have a crisis about your relationship with Josh and overthink every little interaction you had ever shared.
Thankfully, the show started to get interesting and your thoughts were quickly overwhelmed with trying to keep up with what was happening on the screen. Even though he was right at the corner of your vision, Josh was far from at the forefront of your mind.
“No way!” Tyler said, sitting up so fast that the water in his lap spilled all over your legs and the couch. He was still too preoccupied with the plot twist to notice. “She was- and he- you’re kidding!”
“Tyler!” you groaned, already feeling the water soaking through the material of your sweatpants to your legs.
“Oh shoot,” he said, finally noticing the mess he had created. “Hold on.”
Tyler quickly set his cup down and ran up the stairs. You gently removed your legs from the puddle that had formed and tried not to drip more water all over the place.
“So much for having a dry place to sleep,” Josh said.
Shit. You hadn’t even thought of that.
“I’ll just steal Tyler’s bed,” you sighed. “It’s his mess, he can pay the price.”
“Good luck with that.”
Tyler returned, now carrying a number of towels in his arms. He haphazardly tossed them onto the couch and started to pat at them, which seemed to be doing a surprisingly good job at soaking up the water. You grabbed one of the smaller ones and started to dab at your sweatpants.
“Hey, Dun, want to stop flirting and get off your phone for long enough to help us clean up this mess?”
“I don’t know, looks like you have it covered,” he said, looking over his shoulder.
“We do,” Tyler said, glancing at you.
“So it’s cool if I head up to bed?”
“Go for it.”
“Goodnight, guys.”
“See you tomorrow,” you said.
“Goodnight.”
You watched as Josh disappeared up the stairs and around the corner. After your talk with Tyler earlier in the day, tonight had not gone like you had hoped.
“Don’t even say it because I’m really not in the mood to hear it,” you said, standing up and throwing the towel down on the couch. “And don’t turn around.”
“Roger that,” he said. You could hear him continuing to dab water off the couch.
A new sense of frustration washed over you as you stripped off your sweatshirt in favor of an oversized Death Cab for Cutie shirt Tyler had bought you as a “congratulations for completing your first term of college” gift. He had given it to you the same day he announced he wouldn’t be coming back next term. At the time, you had been afraid that your newly formed friendship with him wouldn’t last, but here you were years later.
“Where am I going to sleep tonight?” you asked, failing to keep the edge of frustration out of your voice. You tossed your wet sweatpants over the back of the chair and pulled on your pajama shorts.
“With Josh.”
You snorted, “Very funny. You know, I’m beginning to think all the stuff you said about him flirting with me was bullshit.”
“It’s not bullshit and I’m not kidding.”
You finished tucking your clean sweatshirt away in your bag and turned to face Tyler, expecting him to have his usual dorky “got ya” grin on his face. When you realized he was just casually scooping up the now damp towels, your stomach sunk.
“You’re not serious?”
“I am!”
“Tyler Joseph, you are not making me sleep in the same bed as Josh.”
“Watch me.”
You started to sprint towards the stairs - Tyler couldn’t kick you out of his bed if you were already in it - but Tyler was faster, even with the towels in his hands. He took the stairs two at a time and slipped into his bedroom, closing the door just before you could get a foot inside.
“Tyler, please,” you said, grabbing the door handle and jiggling it.
“Work it out.” His voice was muffled through the door.
You sighed. Once Tyler had his heart set on something, there was no changing his mind about it. That door was not going to open until he wanted it to, and your unwillingness to sleep in the same bed as Josh was not a good enough reason for him.
You stood in the dark hallway for a few minutes, contemplating the options that currently stood in front of you:
Suck it up and ask Josh if you could stay in his room for the night.
Sleep on the wet couch and deal with the discomfort.
Go home and spend another night in your sweltering apartment.
Sleep on the floor.
You groaned and childishly stomped your foot against the ground, not liking any of your choices. On the other side of the door, you could hear Tyler casually getting ready for bed without a care in the world. He didn’t have to worry about a broken air conditioning system or a stupid boy or where to sleep.
Stupid Tyler.
“Is everything ok out here?”
Could this night get any worse?
“Yeah, sorry,” you said, turning to face Josh. Your jaw nearly dropped upon seeing him. Sure, you had seen him in pajamas countless times on tour, but never like this. He was wearing a pair of Adidas sweatpants that were resting way low on his hips. You couldn’t help the way that your eyes slid up his torso until they met his. Some of his curls were falling into his eyes, which you really hoped meant he couldn’t see how blatantly you were ogling him right now. His mouth curled into a smile around the toothbrush that was half-hanging out of his mouth. Think, Y/N, think! What were you going to say? “I just thought I would be able to bargain with Tyler since he… you know, with the couch? But since I’m standing in the hall, you can probably figure out how that went.”
“Classic Tyler,” Josh said, pulling his toothbrush back out of his mouth so he could speak. “You know, you could sleep in here if you wanted. My bed is big enough for the two of us.”
You hated that Tyler’s plan was working.
“Um, yeah, sure. I just need to finish getting ready for bed.”
“Cool, just hop in whenever you want.”
How was he being so nonchalant about this?
“Will do,” you said, giving him an enthusiastic thumbs up. He laughed quietly and disappeared back into his room.
You took your time going through your nightly routine, trying to put off having to be in the same bed as Josh for as long as you could. Tyler was probably laying in his own bed right about now, completely alone, feeling satisfied with the work he had done in pushing you and Josh closer together. The thought of it was enough to make you want to kick down his door and chew him out for putting you in situations like this, even if deep down you knew he was just trying to help you out.
Josh was already in bed when you walked into his room, scrolling through his phone. His torso was no longer on full display, but the light of his phone was illuminating his features. You made an effort not to stare as you walked over and slipped under the covers. The blanket was thick, but the fan at the end of the bed was producing enough air to offset the warmth. Besides, any amount of cool air was an improvement from the absolute hell that you had woken up to earlier that morning.
“Are you comfortable?” Josh asked. They were the first words you had exchanged since you entered the room.
“Yeah. Thanks for letting me sleep in here, by the way.”
“I wasn’t about to let you sleep on the soaking wet couch. You’re supposed to be comfortable while you stay here, not dealing with an issue that’s just as bad as a furnace apartment.”
“Tell that to Tyler,” you snorted.
“You should give him a bad Yelp review.”
You and Josh both laughed.
“I’ll do it first thing in the morning.”
The two of you exchanged some more small talk before finally deciding that you should get some sleep. After your friendly conversation - that featured a few flirty remarks on both sides - you were feeling a little bit better, though you couldn’t deny the tension you felt now that the room was quiet. It was like you could feel every little shift in his sleeping position and all the heat radiating off of him and hear every tiny change in his breathing.
And it was making it very hard to get some sleep.
You carefully rolled over onto your other side, which meant that you were now facing Josh, hoping that the change in position would relax you a little bit. After checking the time, and realizing you had spent nearly half an hour trying to fall asleep to no avail, you closed your eyes and tried to calm your mind. All you had to do was get to sleep, then you didn’t have to worry about Josh anymore. He would become a problem for you to deal with in the morning.
Unfortunately, sleeping Josh had different ideas. He rolled over, leaving his nose inches from yours, and flailing his arms all over the place. Your hands were just barely touching, sending tingles into your arm and erasing what tiny bit of tiredness you had managed to accumulate. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest from just that tiny bit of contact.
And you were supposed to spend all night in a bed right next to him?
Suddenly overwhelmed, you shot out of bed, tripping a little over the mess of blankets you had made while trying to fall asleep. Josh sat up instantly, his hands splayed out on the bed behind him, holding him up. He squinted, looking around the room until his eyes landed on you.
“Are you ok?”
“I can’t-” you heaved, “I can’t do this. I’m sorry.”
“Do what? What’s going on? Are you awake? Am I awake?”
“We’re both awake,” you said, resting a hand on your chest.
Josh slowly threw the covers off of him and got up, walking around the bed until he was standing across from you.
“What is going on, Y/N?”
“It’s just you and me in the bed and it’s overwhelming and I don’t know what to do.” The words were spilling out of your mouth before you could stop them. “First it’s the teasing and Tyler’s remarks and the pretty people on Tinder that are so much better than I’ll ever be and now I’m here in your bed and you’re right there and I can’t sleep because I can’t stop thinking about all of it…”
“Hold on, slow down, I don’t understand,” Josh said, furrowing his eyebrows.
“I like you, Josh, a lot. And I know I tease you and act like I don’t, but I really, really do.”
Josh closed the space between you, resting his hands on your cheeks with just enough force to finally get you to look at him. His eyes were shining.
“Can I kiss you?”
“Please.”
His lips crashed into yours and he tasted like toothpaste and smelled like shampoo and his skin was warm underneath your fingertips but not sweaty and you were completely lost in him. You liked the way his calluses brushed against your cheeks and how his lips fit perfectly with yours. You liked a lot of things about him, really.
“Sorry, that was really embarrassing,” you mumbled when he finally pulled away.
“It was cute.”
“Me practically falling out of your bed because our fingers brushed for half a second and then ranting at you incoherently at two in the morning is not cute,” you laughed.
“If I brush against your fingers right now, will it happen again?” Josh smiled, leaning close enough to you that his nose pressed against yours. His fingers ghosted the length of your arm and eventually brushed against your hand, his pointer finger just barely curling against yours.
“All my cards are already on the table.”
“I like your cards.”
“What?” you giggled.
“I don’t know where I was going with that,” he laughed with you.
“Thirty seconds into this… whatever it is and you’re already losing your cool.”
Josh grinned. “What can I say? You just do that to me.”
“Alright, that’s it, we’re going back to bed,” you said, grabbing Josh’s arm and dragging him back towards the bed.
“What do you think Tyler will say when we tell him about this?”
“I can already see the look on his face when we tell him he was right,” you sighed, sliding back under the covers. Josh joined you and opened his arms, inviting you to lay on his chest.
“If it makes you feel any better, he has to deal with us for the next few days.”
You smiled, “If we’re lucky, he has to deal with us forever.”
“I like the sound of that.”
When Josh leaned down to kiss you again, the entire world faded away.

Request: You could do a imagine where you and Josh are just relaxing at home and begin to reflect on your relationship? tysm! ❤️
Tumblr media
“What do you want to order for dinner?” Josh asked you. You looked up from your laptop and shrug.
“What sounds good to you?” you questioned Josh but he replied with a shrug as well. “How are we supposed to figure out what to eat if we both are so indecisive.”
Josh laughed and plopped down on the couch next to you, “I may be indecisive but I know I made the right decision when it comes to you.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you tried not to smile but you couldn’t help yourself. Josh’s tattooed arm wrapped around your shoulder and pulled you close until your face was being smooshed into this chest. “Josh I can’t breath.”
“Sorry I just love cuddling you.” He allowed you to sit up a little but his arm stayed wrapped around. “How are the pictures coming along?” He nodded towards your laptop which had photoshop open. You were editing photos from the trip to Spain last month.
“Good! There a lot of good ones of you and Tyler,” you cheerfully exclaimed. You slowly pressed the next button as it swiped through photo after photo. Some included Tyler and Josh being silly or recreating couple photos.
“Wait! Go back,” Josh said quickly. You went back to a photo of you and Josh that Tyler but have captured. It was a candid picture and you were looking up at Josh. You could see the love flowing in your e/c eyes. “I love that photo.”
“Yeah, I think you were complimenting me or something since you look so serious and I’m cheesing like a maniac,” you giggled.
“A beautiful maniac.” Josh leaned in and planted a soft kiss on the corner of your mouth. The corners of your lips turned up into a smile.
“I love you, Josh.” You closed your eyes and rested your forehead against his head.
“I love you more than words could ever explain, Y/N.” His breath was hot against your face as he leaned in for a kiss. Your lips collided and your hands went straight to the sides of his face as you kissed him deeper.
“I don’t know what I would do without you,” you whispered as you pulled away. Josh planted one last kiss before leaning back and grabbing your hands.
“I know I don’t say this enough Y/N, but I am so thankful for you. You are patient, and kind, and smart, and beautiful-”
“Stop,” you giggled, interrupting him.
“Shh,” he put his finger to your lips. “I want you to know and understand that I love you, and I always will. You have helped me so much, more than you could imagine.”
“That’s all I want, Joshua. I want to make you happy, and I want to ease the pain that you feel.”
“And you have, Y/N. I hope I make you happy too because that is also all I want.”
You could feel your lips starting to tremble but you took a deep breath to steady yourself. “Of course you make me happy, Josh. You have taught me how to be more open the world around me and focus on the positive aspects.”
“Are you going to cry?” Josh’s thumb brushed under your eye as a single tear fell when you blinked.
“I’m sorry, it’s just I’ve been so hurt in the past and I don’t think I deserve someone as good as you.” The tears started to fall a little bit faster but you tried to keep your composure since you didn’t want to ruin the sweet moment.
“Y/N, please, don’t cry,” Josh whispered into your ear. “You deserve to be loved and to be happy. You deserve the whole world.”
“So do you, Josh.” You looked up at his brown eyes and then down to his freckled lips. His lips turned up into a smirk which made you smile to yourself.
“I know I’ve said this so much, Y/N, but I am so thankful for you. I love you.”
“Don’t worry, I will never get tired of hearing it,” you giggled. “I love you more.”
“I love you most,” Josh rested his head in the crook of your neck as he continued to play with your hands.
“Impossible,” you tilted your head down to plant a kiss on the top of his curly red hair.
“Possible.”

Seasons
Summary:
Just a nurse from Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City, the young woman just wanted to have her life mean something and only wished to help those in need. A few years after working there, she ended up having her world turned upside-down with the news that she had cancer. Despite her friends' constant coddling, she doesn't want to waste anyone's time, but feels the need to live her life now more than ever. But, when Blurryface finally comes for her and her soul, will a certain Twenty One Pilots band member be there to protect her?
Warnings: Slight profanity.
It was a funny thing, growing up. When Sybil had been younger, she was absolutely terrified of hospitals. The smell of cleanliness and sterilization that entered her nostrils constantly made her sick to her stomach, the pale white walls made her uneasy as they did nothing to calm her and then death... Being surrounded by it and knowing that it roamed the halls didn't help matters. Now that she was older and had gone through the process of learning everything there was to know about the field she had grown to love and the location she would be working in, she felt completely safe and secure. Her job had become her life and that meant giving up her own time to help save the lives of others. It was something that she was happy to do, despite the protests of her friends and family. Sure, they had been proud of her, but they hadn't seen her for quite some time and it was straining her relationships.
Making her way down the long corridor within the children's ward, her short legs carrying her as quickly as they could, she heard her work phone go off. Raising an eyebrow, she reached down into the front pocket of her floral scrubs and looked at the number that appeared on the screen -- Holly. Of course it was her. She was one of Sybil's good friends, so it was just common knowledge to her when exactly her shifts started. Answering the phone with a small smirk, she continued walking and peeked into each room to make sure that everything was going smoothly, "Hello there, dear stalker of mine." Laughter erupted on the other end and then sounded as though she was rushing, which seemed odd.
"Is everything okay, Holl? There's not anything going on that I need to be there for, right? I didn't get paged..." She checked the pager on her hip, not seeing anything new.
"Are you kidding me? You don't know who's here today?"
"Um... The Pope?"
"Close enough. Twenty One Pilots are coming here to do a private meet-and-greet and to put on a little show for the kids that were a part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. You know them, right?"
Brown eyes widened as she heard the name of the band that had changed her life. Twenty One Pilots. And they would be under the same damn roof as her?! There really was a god. Before she allowed herself to squeal excitedly, she mentally calmed herself and tried to act as though she didn't really care about them, so that she didn't seem over-the-top. "Oh, I think that I've heard some of their music. It's nice of them to come by for the kids. Where is it? Third floor foyer?"
"Yeah, they'll be here in about ten minutes. I know that you have one of the Make-A-Wish'ers on your floor, so bring Emmy and come on down with her! I've gotta go, but I'll see you soon!"
Saying her goodbye, she hung up the phone and put it back in her pocket. She hurriedly made her way to one of her favorite patient's room -- Emmy Walstead. She was the most gorgeous little girl that she had ever seen, only eight years of age, but going through so many hardships in her life. She had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of six, but had been battling it off and on since. Twenty One Pilots had been a main segway into forming a bond together and they often listened to their music as she was going through her chemotherapy, so that it would relax her. Poking her head in, she saw the little girl strumming on her ukulele as she stared out her window with a blank look upon her face. Biting her lower lip, she gave a soft knock on the wooden door in front of her and instantly got the attention of Emmy; whose face lit up at the sight of her. "Sybbie!" She exclaimed happily and it made Sybil's heart burst with joy. She laughed a bit and then pulled the little one into a hug, knowing that she only got them when her parents were around. "How's my favorite girl?" She asked, while kneeling down in front of her on the floor as she sat on the edge of her hospital bed. "I'm okay." Emmy responded with a soft voice. Smirking at her, she got up and then brought her wheelchair over to her, which caused a look of confusion to form over the little girl's features. "I have a surprise for you. And you're going to want to take that ukulele with you." She responded and then patted the wheelchair, motioning for her to sit down in it.
Hurrying out of the elevator and making her way toward the foyer area while pushing Emmy in front of her, she pretended that they were driving really fast; making skidding sounds of tires and revving noises for added effect. The little girl laughed loudly as they made their way to the small group of kids and nurses that had arrived before them. She smiled widely to her friend Holly, before finding a good place for the both of them to sit. Luckily, there had been a few seats left up front and she snatched them. Sitting not so patiently in her seat, it was a bit silent in the hall... Save for a few hushed whispers between the nurses and some of the children. But then, the doors opened up and everyone looked up to see if it was really them. Could they actually be real and not just a band that the media had made up? She straightened up in her chair and then saw them. Joshua Dun and Tyler Joseph -- The men that had been there for her through all the rough times. Tyler had always been the cute one, seemingly innocent and shy, regardless of the fact that he got up in front of millions to sing to them and entertain them every week. Then there was Josh. What could she say about Josh that most others hadn't already said? Everything about him screamed perfection. His hair seemed to always be a nice bright shade, which was a phase that she had gone through herself before getting a job at the hospital, although it was more than a phase for him. It was expression -- that's what she adored about him.
Feeling her heart beat ten times faster, the kids in the hall all started freaking out as their idols entered the room. Sybil looked down to Emmy and laughed as she saw how wide her eyes had gotten, before moving her hand and rubbing it soothingly on her small back. She knew how much this meant to her and, secretly, it meant a lot for her too. The boys made their rounds, making sure that they introduced themselves to each and every patient that was there to see them. They even did autographs and selfies with them, which made her heart swell. They made the kids so happy and filled them with hope, when there was hardly anything for them to hold on to. They had wanted that... Needed that. Her eyes unknowingly had followed Josh as they made their way over to the patient beside her and Emmy, almost boring into him. Just as she thought he wouldn't notice, Josh's gaze found his way over to her, which caused her to tense up with nervousness. She instantly looked down to her lap, now feeling his intense eyes on her now.
It was their turn now.
"Hi, it's so nice to meet you! What's your name?" The familiar kind voice spoke out to Emmy, causing Sybil to look up. Tyler was knelt down in front of Emmy as she introduced herself to him and they shook hands. It was the most adorable thing that she had ever seen. "That's the coolest ukulele that I've ever seen. Even cooler than mine. Do you play?" Tyler continued, trying to strike up a conversation with her little friend. Emmy nodded and smiled widely, "Yeah! I've been teaching myself. But, I got this from Sybbie!" She exclaimed and then pointed to Sybil, which caused her to blush a bit. Both of the boys looked to her with a smile, Tyler nodding his head happily. "Good taste in instruments... Sybil." The brunette said her name after squinting a bit to see it on her ID. Sybil laughed a bit and then looked up to Josh, who was watching her closely with a small smirk on his lips. Damn that smirk of his. She watched him back for a few moments, before tucking some of her hair behind her ear and looking back to Emmy. "Can you autograph it for me?" The little girl asked in a soft voice, obviously nervous about meeting her idols. The boys graciously accepted and then Sybil reached into her pocket and got out a sharpie, opening it and handing it over to Tyler. With a "thank you" given to her, Tyler takes the ukulele from Emmy and signs the front of it and then writing underneath it, "Always fight... Never give up!" before handing it over to Josh with the sharpie, as well. Josh signed as well and then gently handed it back to her, looking over to see Sybil stand up from her seat after having the pen returned to her. She got out her cellphone and looked to the boys happily. "Would you be able to take some pictures with her? You guys are so important to her." She spoke and they both nodded, moving to crouch down on both sides of her wheelchair as she held her signed ukulele in her hand, all of them giving a cheesy smile to the phone. She grinned and shook her head, snapping the photo about to thank them and then Josh cleared his throat and motioned for her to come over. "Why don't you get in one with us too?" He asked, sounding a bit nervous. Tyler looked over to him with a raised eyebrow and then smirked -- this wasn't something he normally did with people. So, he knew what was going on without second guessing. "Okay! Why not?" She said happily and then squatted down in front of Josh and Emmy, lifting her arm up with the phone in it and then got them all in the frame, giving the camera a happy smile.
After they moved on, the boys made it through the rest of the group of kids, before settling themselves in the front and getting their instruments ready. Since Josh didn't have his drumset, he settled for a type of wooden box, sitting on top of it and preparing to use his hands against it for acoustics. Tyler had actually brought his own ukulele along, but then looked as though he got an idea. He made his way over to Emmy and leaned down, asking her a question in her ear. She giggled a bit and nodded, handing over her own ukulele. He smiled and took it from her, before going back to the front as they started to play their first song "We Don't Believe What's on TV" with it. The little girl beamed with pride, as she watched the boys play and Sybil felt as though she would melt to the floor in a puddle. Looking over to Josh once again, she swallowed hard when noticing that his eyes were already on her; not even a hint of him trying to look away in sight as he played his "drums". It was that way the whole time and, luckily, no one really took notice. Except for Tyler.
After their performance was over, they said their goodbyes and everyone started to disperse. Tyler and Josh's security, as well as the hospital security, hovered over the both of them as they prepared to leave. Tyler had remembered to give Emmy her ukulele back after the first couple of songs, so she was left with the amazing memories of all that happened there that day. Standing up and going behind her little friend's wheelchair, Sybil held onto the handles and gave one last look to the boys before heading over to the elevator. It would be the last time she got to see them in this vicinity, so she was glad that she had photos to remember it by, at least. Although, she couldn't help feeling a little sad at the thought of them leaving. The stares that she had been receiving from Josh all morning had definitely made her think that could've maybe been something there. But, then she rolled her eyes at herself and pressed the up button to call the elevator to pick them up. Why the hell would Josh Dun be interested in her? He had so many other girls, much prettier than her, that he could take his pick from, she was sure. Shaking her head, she clenched her jaw at the thought and got inside as the doors opened and hit the button to go to the fifth floor to take Emmy back to her room. Just as the doors were about to close, a strong hand slammed against them and opened them back up, causing the two girls to jump in shock. Once the doors opened, Sybil's eyes widened when she saw that it was Josh. He panted, as though he had just run to catch up, and stared at Sybil once again. "I... I couldn't let you go without asking. But, c-could I maybe get your number? Maybe we can set up something and have lunch together? I'm in town for a couple of days." He spoke, sounding completely nervous, which made Sybil smile widely to him. The whole ordeal was incredulous, but she nodded her head to him and laughed slightly, before reaching her hand out for his phone. "Only if I can have your number." She replied, noticing that her acceptance had given him the biggest smile, as he reached into his pocket and got his phone. Once they swapped numbers, he looked over her face for a few moments, then looking down to Emmy. Waving a bit to her, he slowly backed out of the elevator finally to let them go, but not before giving Sybil one more glance. "I'll text you." He mouthed to her and she nodded, before the doors closed.
On the ride up, Sybil felt eyes on her and looked down to Emmy, who had the biggest smirk on her face. The young nurse laughed a bit and playfully smacked her arm, causing Emmy to giggle. She didn't know that her day would turn out this way... And if someone would have told her it would, she wouldn't have believed them. It was like a dream come true...
Josh fuckin' Dun.

Overreaction (Josh Dun x reader)
Summary: Arguments over the littlest of things happen to everyone. It’s how you handle them that matters. In the early days of twenty one pilots, when their future isn’t guaranteed, Josh finds that he isn’t particularly good at handling stress...

Warnings: Josh is kind of an ass here, but definitely more in an ‘I’m stressed and don’t know how to cope’ way than an ‘I’m an actual prick’ way. You get me?
The house was quiet when he woke up. The sort of quiet that sat coldly in his bones and left a weight in his stomach, filling the air in every room and leaving everything feeling grey and still. His heart sank further as he stuck his head into the guest bedroom and saw the bed neatly made, the top of the dresser empty.
They hadn’t come back.
His mind was filled with images of the evening before as guilt washed over him.
“Josh, please, can you just lay off the drumming for half an hour? I just wanna get this last section done.” (y/n) dug their fingers into their temples, frowning over the essay they were trying to finish. When he’d suggested that they spend the afternoon at his flat so they could both finish the work they needed to do and then spend the weekend hanging out, they’d jumped to say yes. But while it had been a good idea at the time, things hadn’t gone quite to plan.
Josh had been working on some ideas for the music video he and Tyler were meant to be shooting in a week’s time while (y/n) was working on finishing an assignment that was due on the Monday. It was frustratingly difficult work, and at first their boyfriend’s presence was a relaxing one.
The two of them were sat on opposite sides of the breakfast bar, laptops and papers spread out in an inelegant tangle as they worked. The kitchen smelled of fresh coffee and a soft instrumental playlist was on in the background. For a couple of hours, the atmosphere was incredibly peaceful. But then, Josh finished his work. And he got bored. He tidied up his laptop and notebooks to kill a little time, but soon found that he needed more to do.
Thinking back to the discussion he’d had with Tyler over some new ideas for songs, he decided to sit down at his practice pad for a little while and get some rhythms out of his head, see if any of them fit the beautiful words that his bandmate had put together. He slipped his headphones on and plugged them in, relaxing as he wrapped his hands around the drum sticks and got ready to play.
Engrossed in reading the resources they’d found, (y/n) jumped as he started tapping away, their concentration shattered. At first they tried to just ignore it and carry on, but the repetitive beats that only got louder and more complex made it impossible to keep their mind on the words they needed to write.
And so, they had politely asked him to stop.
Josh had barely glanced back at them, tapping his feet in time with the thoughts running through his brain. “I’m just tryna get this idea down so it matches the stuff from Tyler.”
“Yeah, but can it wait? Is there some other way you can think about it that isn’t so... loud? I’m still working.”
He sighed. “Babe, this is part of my work. So I’m still working too.”
“I get that, I do. It just doesn’t make it very easy to think about the history of genetics, you know?” They’d laughed slightly, trying to lighten the mood a little. But a dark cloud had descended over the room, and Josh’s continued frown made their smile fade.
“Look, this is important.”
“I never said it wasn’t.” Now they were frowning too. “I just asked-”
“I’m trying to make this whole band thing work, okay? And maybe you don’t think that takes as much effort as a fancy college degree, but it’s damn hard.”
(y/n) felt like a deer in the headlights, taken aback by the sharpness of his response. “Hey, I know how hard you guys are working on this, and I know how much it matters to you. All I’m asking for is half an hour of quiet so I can get this done. And then I’ll sit and listen, okay? Maybe I can try and help you go through some of the ideas you’ve got.”
He sniffed, shaking his head. “Yeah, like you actually care. All you can think about is yourself.”
Their jaw dropped as he turned back to the kit, hitting the pads even harder now that he had some anger to get out of his system. “Josh, I-”
“No, it’s fine! It’s fine that you’re more worried about one stupid essay - one essay that won’t even affect your perfect GPA anyway - than you are about me being happy with my career. Nice to know. Really.”
He’d never snapped at them before. Tears prickled hotly at the corners of their eyes. Silently, they gathered their things and packed them into their bag, dipping into the guest room briefly to get what little else they’d brought. Then two doors slammed, one shortly after another.
It took almost an hour for Josh to notice what had happened in the aftermath of the argument. Finally satisfied, he put his sticks down - and turned to face an empty room. That’s when he realised that (y/n) had grabbed what little they had brought round to his place and left.
Groaning at his own idiocy, Josh found himself getting anxious. Last night he’d assumed they’d just gone home, but what if something had happened to them while they were out? What if they were in a hospital, or being held hostage by someone, or... no, he couldn’t think like that. He sighed, chewed at his lip, and made the decision to phone them. It was obviously better to apologise in person, but somehow he doubted that showing up at their apartment unannounced would be welcomed. Besides, just hearing their voice for the moment would be enough to assuage his growing intrusive thoughts. The phone rang through a couple of times before abruptly cutting off. Nothing. But with the short ring period, he knew it wasn’t because their phone was broken or switched off. They’d declined the call.
Pacing back and forth across his living room, Josh rang Tyler instead. Thankfully, his best friend answered straight away.
“Yeah?”
“Ty, I screwed up.”
“Oh, I know.”
He stopped walking for a moment, frowning. “Wait, what?”
He could hear Tyler close a door before answering. “(y/n) came here last night. And dude I’ve gotta tell you, I haven’t seen them that upset in a long time.”
Josh felt his heart sink. “What did they say?”
“That you made them feel like you didn’t want them there. That you told them they didn’t care about you, which a blind man could see is total rubbish.” His friend sounded angry, and he was definitely starting to feel that it was justified. “They said that it was you who didn’t seem to care about them. That you didn’t think about the fact this essay is due Monday and they’ve got a midterm on Wednesday, even though they’d told you all about how worried they were when they got to yours. Dude. You were a real jerk.”
He let his head drop against the wall with a soft thud, feeling well and truly like an idiot. “I don’t even know why I said all that stuff. I feel terrible.”
“Yeah, you should. I had to come and pick them up because it was getting dark and they were crying too much to keep walking home.”
He felt his heart sink painfully. “I... I made them cry?”
Hearing the crack in Josh’s voice, Tyler sighed. “Look man, just get over here. You’re both a bit calmer now, and you can talk things over. You can apologise.”
“I- Yeah, okay, that’s a good idea. I’ll be there soon. Thanks man.”
Burying their hands in the hoodie’s sleeves, (y/n) chewed at the dry skin on their lips until Tyler nudged them in the side.
“Hey, knock that off. You’ll make them sore.”
“Are you sure he’s not still mad at me?”
Tyler pulled them in for a hug, rubbing their back soothingly. “Hey, I know he isn’t. You know, I don’t think he was ever really mad at you in the first place. Just real stressed. And that’s not me trying to excuse what he said to you, because it was totally out of line. I just don’t think he’s capable of being mad at you.”
A knock on the door interrupted them, and he let them go so he could go and answer it. When Josh set eyes on them, red around the eyes and pale with lack of sleep, he burst towards them and took their hands in his, babbling almost frantically.
“Shit, (y/n) I- I’m so, so sorry. I have no idea why I said the things I did - I shouldn’t have, no way. None of those things were true. I think I - everything lately has been so hard, so uncertain - I just want us to do well, and... your degree is so stable and nothing I do is guaranteed and that... I don’t know, maybe it - I don’t even know!”
He was practically tearing his hair out at this point, and (y/n) stopped him with a hand on his cheek. “Hey, slow down. One thing at a time. Were you really mad at me yesterday?”
“No, of course not. I think I... I was just worried about a lot of things and you happened to say something at the wrong time.”
“So you... you don’t really think that I don’t care about you?”
He could see them welling up again, and opened his arms for a hug the same way he always did - never pulling them in first, always checking that they were okay with the contact before doing so. They leant into him, tucking their chin on his shoulder as he held them as tightly as he dared.
“No. I think that’s the worst thing I said to you, and I don’t even know where it came from. I just - I am so sorry, babe. I hate that I treated you like that.”
“Thank you for apologising. And, I forgive you.” They pressed a soft kiss to his lips, hands resting against his chest as his moved to their waist.
When they pulled back he barely gave them a second to breathe before kissing them again with a little more force, his tongue dancing at the seam of their mouth.
“Oh, gross. I leave you two alone for five minutes and this is what happens.”
They pulled apart, both giggling a little at the look of mock disgust on Tyler’s face. Beneath it, the relief was clearly visible.
“Sorry man.”
“Yeah, whatever, I’m just glad you two are okay now. Next time, get a room that isn’t my kitchen, deal?”
“Deal.”

cliquetober day 11: antlers (a twenty one pilots drabble)
Fandom: Twenty One Pilots
Word Count: 315
Trigger Warnings: None!
Author’s Notes: Something a bit more lighthearted for today KJDHSFG
❝ After the events of The Outside MV, Tyler finds out he has antlers on his head.
“They’re going to notice, aren’t they?” ❞
also read it on ao3!
Josh froze, his eyes widening. “Uh…Tyler?”
The other man turned to look at him as he waited on the beach. “Yeah?”
Josh didn’t know what to say. He glanced at the top of Tyler’s head, then back to his face. “You kind of…uh…”
“Kind of what?” he asked.
Josh motioned to where his beanie sat. Tyler mimicked his action, but immediately paused. Something was growing from the top of his head.
He felt around more and found a wood-like texture. His fingers met pointed ends, branching out from a single stem.
His eyes widened. They were antlers.
He looked at Josh. “Dude, what the– How did–”
“I don’t know!”
At that moment, Tyler remembered the ritual. If there was one thing he knew about the Neds, it was that he didn’t know much at all. He never knew they could grow horns, let alone be used to intercept the Bishops.
“Where’s Ned?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” replied Josh. “He’s not in the cave.”
Tyler’s brow furrowed as he sighed. The two of them had only heard rumors of the ritual, with the Glorious Gones and their glowing eyes. “Do you think this ever happens to the Bishops?”
“They don’t have antlers, as far as I’m aware,” Josh said.
“They could always cut them off. Seems in character for them to have horns.”
Josh laughed. They kept their torches raised, mirrored by distant lights from the opposite shore. The other Banditos would be here in a few minutes to bring them back to the main continent.
Tyler felt the antlers on his head again. He paused for a moment. “They’re going to notice, aren’t they?”
The other man tilted his head. “...Yeah, they probably will,” he replied. He tugged his friend’s beanie to somewhat cover the pointed tips. “That might work. They won’t see a thing.”
Josh couldn’t help but smile. Tyler sighed.

#33 & #37 for Josh, pretty please...! 💖💖💖
Tumblr media
33. “Close your eyes and hold out your hands.”37. “Can I kiss you?”
I have no words to describe just exactly how I was feeling, honestly I was feeling all kinds of emotions right now, a combination of butterflies, happiness, nausea, excitment, all of those were stirring up inside of me right now. And seriously if only you could see my face right now, you would feel everything that I’m feeling. Tonight I had my first date with Josh Dun, a guy that I’ve been liking for a really long time ever since I was hired as their manager’s assistant I guess you can say. From the first day of my job I never ever thought I would even get to meet him and Tyler let alone be dating one of them. I actually had a crush on both beautiful boys to be truthful, but something about Josh in particular really stole my heart, and apparently I must’ve stolen his because here we are, enjoying the rest of an amazing evening together.
Things were a little quiet between us as he walked me home, I don’t know if it was either because he was shy or I was shy, but I figured that it was most likely me, and since things were silent as hell I think the beating of my heart could be heard in the night air.
“So um, what’s it like being an assistant?” He asked, breaking the awkward silence. He has already actually asked me about this when we sat down to eat but I guess he forgot, that’s pretty adorable…
“It’s pretty cool, I mean Michael is a pretty chill dude so, I guess I got lucky that he’s not so strict with me, less stress, and he pays good money too.”
“Oh yeah? That’s cool, very cool actually.”
“Yeah…” Was all I could respond with, followed by another one of my stupid shy smiles that seemed to be the millionth one I’ve shown tonight…
Things got a little quiet between us again, but it wasn’t going to be like that for much longer, I didn’t want Josh thinking that I wasn’t talkative person or that I wasn’t really into him like I have made obvious before…
“Oh hey you never told me about how you got into drums, cause honestly the way you play them really blows me away.” I smiled, that topic seemed to lighten up the mood a lot, because when he started telling me about it it seemed like he could go on and on, which I found to be adorable once again because he was just so passionate about this instrument, it’s like he was born with drumsticks already in his hands.Overall it lead us to talk a lot more just like it was in the beginning of our date, we were now laughing and literally getting into all kinds of stupid subjects. Being around this guy really made me feel a lot more young, it’s awesome.
“You know maybe you can teach me how to play drums one day?” I said, grinning brightly. He grinned as well, that cute face of his lighting up even more than before…
“I would love to teach you. Whenever you want to start I’m down.”
“Awesome.”
“(Y/N)?” He called out, his tone sounding a bit nervous, making me turn my head to face him. I raised my brows to signal him to tell me what was on his mind.
“I uh…just…close your eyes and hold out your hands.”
I couldn’t help but smile but I shook my head at him, “Joshua come on, don’t tell me you got me a present because honestly you didn’t have to.” He nodded understanding but then he also shook his head at me.
“I know that, I know you’re not a materialistic girl but I wanted to give you something special anyway. So go on now.” He chuckled, and I hesitated but I did what I was told. The next thing I knew I felt what sounded like a chain fall on my palms.Joshua told me to open my eyes and when I did I was in complete awe when I caught sight of a beautiful, sparkling, blue diamond heart shaped necklace. It absolutely glittered whenever the moon light hit it and I was just so in love, but still he shouldn’t have troubled himself.
“Oh my God…oh my goodness this is so precious…”
“You like it?” He eagerly asked with his usual cute smile.
“I love it Josh…like I said you seriously didn’t have to but thank you so much. It’s beautiful. You know now that I look at it more it reminds me of the heart of the ocean necklace from titanic.” I giggled.
“I know that’s why I got it. Michael told me that was your favourite movie so I figured..” He tells me with a shrug. My mouth fell open and I gave him the biggest hug I could give, wrapping my arms tightly around his shoulders. Good God he smells so fucking good, and his strong arms are so securely around my waist, I could honestly say that I felt so safe with him. Also I could be in these loving arms forever.
“May I?” Josh inquired, I nodded in reply and lifted my hair turning my back to him, then he went ahead and hooked the radiant piece of jewelry around my neck.I felt my heart beating faster than ever against my chest when held me so closely from behind, zero space between my back and his broad chest…
“You know (Y/N)…I’m really really happy I finally grew the balls to ask you out on a date…I had the best time of my life.”
“Awwww Josh, I’m happy I went out with you too, you’re such a sweetheart, I always knew it from the moment I met you guys through Michael.” I say.I could easily sense some sort of hesitation comming from him, I could hear his lips parting to say something else to me but it was like something caught his tongue everytime he tried, so I placed my hand on top of his and turned to face him once again, with his fingers interwining with my own..
“What is it?…”
“Hm I uhhh….Can I kiss you?…” He nervously asked in a gentle whisper.
My bottom lip was taken in between my teeth, now I felt like I was gonna have a heart attack, but my lips had a mind of their own…because in the blink of an eye…I kissed him, I kissed him passionately and he treated my lips gently, softly, he was hands down the best kisser I’ve ever had in my life…There was definately a fire inside of me, it was such a spark that I never experienced before and it was magical, that’s the only way to really describe it. I can tell that neither of us wanted the kiss to end, but we still had to walk a few blocks before reaching my house so we had to.Then the rest of the way was even more pleasant than before, this time we held each other’s hand and he gave me one last sweet kiss before leaving my doorstep.
I leaned against the door when I closed it with my face heated up and my fingers tracing my bottom lip, this was surely the beginning of something special between Joshua and I. Man, when I get back to work on Monday…it is truly going to be interesting.

a/n: hola, babies, here we go with the second song drabble!! i actually have to admit that it's much harder than i originally thought it would be, writing a oneshot using song lyric. but it improves your writing, your imagination and i'm more than ready for it. oh and also it's fun. i hope you enjoy reading them just as much as i do writing them. please leave feedback, i'd appreciate it more than anything. and feel free to request!!
Tumblr media
"Stop smiling at me, I keep on messing up my sentences when you look at me like that," (y/n) giggled, hiding her blushed cheeks in her palm that wasn't holding her phone.
Tyler didn't seem bothered by her request and continued staring at his own screen with a delighted and dreamy, beaming smile splitting his face.
"Please," the girl pleaded when she glanced back at him from inbetween her fingers and saw that he hadn't changed his expression.
"I can't help it, my face looks like this whenever I look at you." Tyler shrugged.
"I'm gonna end this call if you don't stop." (y/n) threatened, knowing that there wasn't any other way to achieve her goal.
"No, don't!" The young man exclaimed immediately before pressing his hand against his mouth, eyes widening, speaking the rest of his speech much quieter. "I keep on forgetting that it's the middle of the night here. The sunlight behind your back confuses my mind."
"I still don't understand how you manage to stay awake. You should be hella exhausted."
"I'm fine, I'll sleep on the tour bus. We only have travelling ahead of us all day so I'll have all the time I need," he waved his hand nonchalantly. "I wanted to catch you as soon as you get back to your hotel room."
"Well, you succeeded. I actually didn't even have the time to go and pee before my phone rang." (y/n) chuckled, shaking her head in loving disbelief.
"You can go now, if you wanna." Tyler offered. "I'll wait for you."
"It's okay, I can keep it in until the end of this call."
"Yeah? And what if we don't end it for like five hours?"
Tyler watched delightedly as the girl started laughing once more. It had always been one of the most amazing feelings when the reason behind the bubbling, angelic laughter erupting from her throat was him.
"We will," (y/n) said as soon as she calmed her breathing back down. "I won't let you stay up all night because of a stupid FaceTime call."
"It's not stupid, it's with you." Tyler argued, making the girl roll her eyes from his cheesiness. "Anyway, what are your plans for tonight?"
"Nothing special, probably watching TV in this very room, maybe I'll get a bottle of wine or something," she shrugged.
The boy felt his heart ache hearing her words. It wasn't how she should spend her birthday. It's a once in a year occasion, it should be something more special. But still, there wasn't anything they - or simply just him alone - could do. Tyler was on tour in London, (y/n) was in Los Angeles for a work meeting.
Both of them stayed in hotel rooms, but two different ones, with an 8 hour time difference and thousands of miles between them. The only way he could help her feel less alone was through this video call and he was determined to keep her company for as long as he could or as long as she wanted him to.
"I'm sorry for missing your birthday," he whispered into the silence.
Slight anger bubbled in (y/n)'s chest once more as she was reminded of the fact yet again that it indeed was her birthday that she had to spend all alone in a hotel room. Without him.
"Stop apologising, Tyler."
"But I have to. You gotta know how sorry I am."
"You saying that a million times doesn't make anything any better," she said, voice cold and emotionless as she tried hard to fight back the sudden urge to cry, her lip only slightly quivering but it was visible enough for Tyler to notice.
What are you doing?, he scolded himself in his head. All you wanted was to keep her happy and now you're making her cry.
"You don't understand, you never do!" (y/n) spoke up again. "I try to tell you this every time when you're missing out on a special day but you never seem to realise that I'm right. If you keep saying sorry, it'll only remind me over and over again, and it's just making things worse. If I don't think about it, then it's fine and I can stay happy but when you keep mentioning it, I can't shut it out and instead of being happy I'm back at being upset."
It felt good finally letting all of it out, though when she saw Tyler's eyes and the sadness and self-hate in them, all she wanted to do was to turn back time and take back everything she said. She knew he didn't want to hurt her and he was truly upset for all the anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's days he had to miss because of touring. But he had to know that not mentioning these would make everything so much better. They could just pretend it was an ordinary day they had to spend apart.
"Do you want me to leave now?" Tyler asked quietly.
"What? No!" the girl called out with widening eyes. "Why would I want that?"
"I don't know. Maybe to get rid of my constant apologising," he shrugged.
"There's a better way for that. You promising that you'll stop it." (y/n) smiled at the screen to calm him down.
Oh, how stupid she was. She really should've thought it through in her head before letting it all out on Tyler. He took things like this so much more serious than other people. He would blame himself now for making her angry and sad. He would think she deserved someone better and distance himself.
She knew it perfectly. It already happened twice in the past year only, and both times it was her fault. She had to be more careful with what she said around the boy.
"Are you sad?" Tyler whispered after a few minutes of silence. "And answer honestly, please."
"A little bit," (y/n) whispered back.
They stared at each other intensely, the eye contact only breaking when the girl's (y/e/c) orbs got blurry with tears. She tried to blink it away but one drop escaped and rolled down her cheek, Tyler following its route with his gaze.
"Please stop crying," he spoke up. "You know how much I hate it when I can't be with you and calm you down."
(y/n) let out a faint chuckle, nodding. "I know." She reached up and with the edge of her hand, dried the skin of her face.
"I promise we'll never spend another special day apart."
"Don't promise things you can't keep," the girl shook her head.
"I'll keep this. I swear."
"It's not up to you to decide when can you be home or not when it comes to touring."
"If there's a tour in our way, you'll simply come with us," Tyler stated as if it was that simple.
"Yeah?" (y/n) chuckled again. "What about my work?"
"I'll figure it out," the boy smiled, feeling more sure now that he saw his technique to cheer the girl started to work. "Maybe you can quit it."
"Quit it? Are you crazy?" And there it was, a loud, honest laugh escaping her lips. Tyler mentally fistbumped himself in the air, feeling proud.
"It may sound crazy, but I mean it," he continued. "You could come with us, travel the world and be by my side all the time."
"Sounds amazing, but I have to work," the girl sighed.
"Why do you have to?" Tyler frowned.
"I don't know," another giggle. "I think I'd go mad if I didn't have to work. I'd be restless."
"Okay, we'll find a solution another time. But don't forget about it. Now, do you wanna watch a movie?"
"Well, yeah, that was my plan, but it can wait if you still wanna talk."
"No, do you wanna watch a movie together?"
"Together?" It was her time to frown. "How?"
"We can start it at the same time and keep the call going so we could still talk," Tyler explained, making (y/n)'s eyes light up joyously.
"That's a great idea!" she exclaimed.
"I'm glad you like it."
Tyler never felt more glad that he chose to check a website listing things couples could do through FaceTime as a some kind of date.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"You can't keep doing this," Tyler groaned when he saw (y/n) slowly stroll around, obviously keeping him waiting on purpose.
They just arrived back home and he felt he couldn't take not hugging her anymore, it was torturous enough to control himself at the airport where he wanted to quit anything that would catch the fan's eyes and would be posted all across the internet. He wanted to keep his relationship as private as he could manage, protecting her at all costs.
But now they were in the safety of their house where no one could see them, and (y/n) seemingly played the game she often did in similar situations.
"This is all your fault! You made me do this in the first place!" she exclaimed back giddily, sidetracking from his reaching arms.
"It was only one time!" Tyler protested, throwing his hands up in the air. "And you're doing it for the hundredth time."
"I know, but I enjoy it too much. That pouting look on your face is worth everything," she giggled.
"I really need a hug right now, (y/n)."
"You're scaring me," the mentioned girl widened her eyes in fake worry.
"Don't argue. Just do it," he opened his arms wider, standing in one place waiting.
They played this cat-and-mouse game for a minute or two before (y/n) finally gave in and leisurely strolled over.
"You're so weird," he shook his head in disbelief, finally being able to wrap his arms around his love.
"You have no idea," she grinned at him before burying her face in his chest and deeply inhaling his oh so loved scent.
They slightly swayed side to side, clinging into the other as they were finally able to feel the other in real life again after so many days, such long weeks of distance.
"I love you so much," Tyler whispered in her hair. "You're the best part of me."

But - Josh Dun Imagine
“Josh, please stop it. I’ve told you that I do like you, but I just can’t date you right now. Respect that.” I say to josh as he follows me around in the tour bus as I get ready.
“I do respect that, and I respect you. I just want to know why you won’t let me take you out to dinner.” He exclaims, as I sling my camera bag over my shoulder.
We’ve been going back and forth like this for the past 30 minutes. I’ve been traveling with him and Tyler for the past six months.
Recently, Josh and I admitted that we have feelings for each other and he asked me on a date later in the week. I told him no for reasons I haven’t told anyone yet
“Maybe because I am currently working a full time job that I am late to.” Such a lie, I say walking out of the bus and towards the venue since the show was about to start.
“Emily, wait up.” Tyler says as he see’s me walk by. Great, he’ll just question me for Josh.
“I have a job to do, you can follow me.” I say, going towards my boxes of supplies and unpacking.
“Why won’t you just let Josh take you on a date?” He asks me, assisting in unpacking the boxes.
“I’ve already said that the reasons are private and I don’t want to talk about them.”
“Are you just leading him on for fun?” his words make me fumble with madness
“Why the hell would I do that? Do you really think that little of me?” I ask, squinting my eyes in anger.
I care way too much about Josh to do that.
“I don’t think you would do that, but I just needed to make sure. He is my best friend after all, and I’ve already seen him get hurt once and I don’t want to see that again.
I’ve had enough of this. Now I am being accused of leading someone on for me to have a laugh. That’s fucked up.
“Fine, I’ve had enough of this. You want to know why I won’t let him take me on a date? Because I went onto his Instagram and saw hundreds of photos of him and Debby. I also saw photos of Debby and Josh on his phone when I was getting photos of previous tours.” I say, “I saw photos of them kissing and of them in bed together.”
“How can I let someone take me on a date when he has photos of his old girlfriend he is clearly still in love with.” I say, tearing up at the memory of the photos.
“That’s not fair to me.” I say, shrugging out of the hand he places on my shoulder.
“You know what, I’m tired of all of this. I’m going to take the day off. You guys can get someone else to take your photos.” I say, slamming my camera into his hands and walking off to the bus. Ignoring the calls from Tyler and the rest of the crew.
Sitting down in the empty bus I start to cry. I couldn’t be the second choice again, not after finding my ex fiancée in bed with his ex girlfriend.
I need to quit I think to myself, after this show I’ll talk to the manager about leaving, but first I have a date with Beer.
-------
11 pm, the show has been over for an hour, they should be coming back any second now.
Deciding it would be best if I threw the 2 empty bottles away I stand up and throw the two away, taking a small sip from my third bottle.
“I completely forgot about the photos of Debby on my phone.” Josh’s voice makes me spin around, eyes wide.
Not wanting to talk, I sit on one end of the couch and watch as Josh takes the seat next to me.
“You’re near me all the time. I’m not on my social media or photos long enough to see that they are there.” He says, taking my beer and taking a sip.
           “Yeah, sure.”  I say sarcastically.
“I deleted all the photos from both places, you can check for yourself.” Josh says, sliding the phone towards him.
“I don’t want to check your phone. You didn’t need to delete the photos, if you still love her than you still love her. Just don’t ask me out if you do.” I say, standing up and looking at him
“That’s the thing.” He says, standing up and taking a hold of my hands, “I don’t love her anymore, I want to be with you.”
“But…” I start, but get cut off by him.
“But nothing. I want to be with you, and this may be to soon, but possibly forever.” He says.
“Well, when you say it like that I guess I have no choice but to go on a date with you.” I say with a small smile.
“Than grab your coat, lets go right now.” He says, pulling me towards the door.
           “Right now?” I exclaim, considering it’s 11pm
“Right now, I’ve waited too long for this moment.” He says with a smile.

#jd
Pairing: Josh Dun x Reader
Warnings: Little bit of angst/embarrassment
Word Count: 929
Request: Can you do one that’s tumblr themed and y/n has a secret tumblr with a crush tag and the boy sees the tumblr and sees them talking about him. Very embarrassed🤭
Author’s Note: Sorry about my absence, but here’s a fic to make up for it! I hope you enjoy this one :) (picture credit)
Tumblr media
You stifled a giggle as you scrolled through your Tumblr account, looking at the things you had reblogged over the past few months. It was mostly memes of various TV shows and games that you liked, but there was an occasional personal post thrown in to update your handful of followers about your life. Most of them were about your “mysterious crush” that you made vague posts about, just to make sure that his identity wasn’t immediately obvious to anyone reading.
Because the #jd tag made it so difficult to figure out.
“What are you looking at?” Josh asked when another laugh escaped your lips.
“Tumblr, as per usual,” you answered, smiling at him.
“I want to see what’s so funny.”
Josh started to scoot closer to you, already trying to peer over your shoulder. You pulled your phone to your chest to hide it from sight, making sure to lock it as an additional security measure. His attempts to get a look at your Tumblr account had been a longstanding joke in your friendship.
“Sorry, Josh, you know the rule.”
“Please,” he said, sticking out his lower lip. Your stomach flipped a couple times at his adorable expression, and for a brief moment you even considered handing over your phone. Flustered, you pulled your eyes away and reminded yourself of all the posts about him you didn’t want to be seen.
“No, it’s too personal,” you said, “But if I find something funny, I’ll text it to you.”
“Fine, we have a deal.”
Josh gave you one final longing look - which you answered with a giggle and a shake of your head - before returning to the other side of the couch, far away from you. You continued to scroll, though it was harder now that you were distracted by the mental image of Josh pouting. Was that worthy of a vague post?
“Josh, you have to see this,” you said, forgetting all about his expression as you hit the share button on a meme that someone had created about the band. You tried to limit the number of posts that you reblogged about the boys - mostly out of fear of people connecting Josh’s identity to the tag on your crush posts - but occasionally something was so funny that you couldn’t resist. This was one of those posts.
“I’m ready,” Josh said, holding his phone up in front of his face. “Is it coming?”
“Yeah, it just takes a second.”
A moment later, Josh was tapping on his phone and laughing as he read the post. The sound of it made butterflies form in your stomach.
“What account is this from? I want to see what else they’ve posted.”
“I don’t remember, click on the name at the top.”
“Y/T/U?”
The butterflies in your stomach disappeared instantly, replaced with a feeling of pure dread. You had been so distracted by sending Josh the post that you had totally forgotten that you had been looking through your own account, meaning that was what he had just gotten a direct link to.
“Don’t look at that,” you said quickly.
Josh turned to you, a teasing smirk on his face. “Why not?”
“Josh, please.”
“Is there something on here you don’t want me to see?”
You decided to go for it and lunged at Josh, reaching for his phone, but it only ended with his hand getting further from you and your chest pressed to his.
“Let’s see what we have here… this looks like a post you wrote. ‘I can’t get enough of his smile. It’s like liquid sunshine.’ Oh, and there’s some more text at the bottom. JD. Hey, those are my initials,” he smiled.
You were still on top of Josh, too scared, embarrassed, and curious to do anything. Was he going to put it together?
“I want to find more posts you wrote,” he said, starting to scroll faster. “Here’s one: ‘Sometimes he puts his arm around me when we walk and my heart melts.’ It has the same letters as the other one. I put my arm around you when we walk sometimes.”
His smile slowly faded and morphed into recognition. Your hands started to shake. You could see the pieces coming together in his head.
“‘Sometimes I want to tell him how I feel but then I think about losing him and that hurts so much more than never telling him.’ Y/N, are these about me?”
“I’m so sorry,” you said. Your body finally moved and you started to pull away from Josh. “I should have never made that public. It was stupid. I should have just told you like an adult.”
Josh caught your arm and gently pulled you back towards him, “I think it’s sweet.”
“You do?”
“Yeah, I write stuff like that in my notes about people I like all the time.”
“Right,” you said, forcing a smile even though you could feel your stomach sinking.
“And I have hundreds about you.”
You turned to him, eyes wide. “About me?”
“There’s something satisfying about writing your feelings down somewhere, isn’t there?”
“Agreed,” you smiled. It was real this time.
Josh stared at you for a moment before finally leaning forward and pressing his lips to yours. You rested a hand on the side of his face and held him close.
“Does this mean I get to look at your Tumblr now?” he whispered when he finally pulled away.
“Maybe,” you laughed. “It depends how many other embarrassing things are on there.”
Josh smiled and gave you another quick kiss, “Deal.”

I Wish You Would
Summary: Josh can’t let go of the girl who holds him in the palm of her hand.  Pairing: Josh x Reader Word Count: 500 Warnings: Implied drinking, implied sexy times.  Square Filled: Come Pick Me Up - Ryan Adams; @bandombingo
Tumblr media

I’m back in LA.
The moment Josh hit send on the text message, his brain wished he could take it back. Before leaving for the most recent leg of their tour, he had told himself he wasn’t going to see Y/N again. Nothing good ever came out of seeing her. Of course, nothing horrible came out of seeing her, either, except for that limbo they always fell into: Josh wanting more, Y/N convincing him this halfway thing they had was enough. Both of them seeing other people regularly.
But, when they were together, she was everything. Funny, caring, loving. The planets aligned and life made sense. They could sit and talk for hours without even touching each other — sitting on opposite ends of the couch, catching up on life and trying to find the answers to the big questions, or listening to records and debating whether Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones were more legendary.
When the conversation lulled and the drinks and snacks ran out, the mood would change. Y/N would look at him the way he never expected any of his other close friends to look at him, and Josh would be putty in her hands.
She would crawl closer to him on the couch until she was leaning against his shoulder, and Josh would kiss the top of her head. His heart would begin to race and, sometimes, he could feel Y/N tremble as his fingers intertwined with hers. He would pull her into his lap and search her eyes for anything that told him this time might be different. This time might be more than a fleeting exchange between them.
Of course, no matter what Josh saw in her eyes, the night would progress. Most of the time, Y/N would still be there in his bed the next morning, but sometimes she would leave before Josh woke. Those were the mornings when he felt most ridiculous for letting her leading him around like she did; she held all the power and Josh was only hoping to someday fall into her forever.
The months away had done him some good, he thought. They hadn’t talked much, and mostly through text. He felt certain as they wrapped up the last few shows that Y/N was the last person he would contact when he got back home. He was through the airport, home, unpacked, showered, and had takeout on the way before he texted her.
Finally! I’m on my way.
The moment Josh read her text message, his heart beat faster with the excitement of seeing her again. Maybe he hadn’t waited long to text her, but she hadn’t waited long to reply and come over. With that small fact as a encouragement, Josh allowed himself a bit of hope that maybe, just maybe, Y/N was as addicted to him as he was to her. The hope that followed was that maybe, just maybe, one day, she would come over — for good.
