Louis Tomlinson is a singer-songwriter who has just scheduled the biggest gig of his life. Harry Styles doesn't consider himself a musician, but he agreed to help his best friend out, so there’s that. He’s now playing on tour with Niall, but, as far as he is concerned, he only has one very simple task: to get through it alive. Instead, he ends up finding true love, heartbreak, and a sense of purpose.

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne are absolutely fed up with both of them, and just want them to get it together, but things don’t always work out, do they?

Jupiter is a story about friendship and overcoming difficulties, told through music and fandom inside jokes.

FERNWEH #2 - RAW MULTI ECHO DELAY

This device is based on an original JPTR FERNWEH PCB, it lacks the expression pedal inputs and the EFX loop of the original pedals, that i highly recommend. If you are not interested in this one-off build, please support them. Here’s the description in the words of the designer:

This expansive delay is more than a temporal effects pedal. It is a trampoline between the unsophisticated and habitual, or the wondrous and the uncommon. Its fast response and dynamic range make it a perfect live tool for haunting sceneries and frenetic solos. The FERNWEH (Wanderlust in German) is, without a doubt, a delay pedal that wants to take you places.   Main Features: · Vintage-voiced Dual Delay - from classic rhythmic tape-like echoes to otherworldly cascading dreamscapes · Warp Switch - instantly jump between two different delay times · Feedback Switch - hold to momentarily max out feedback, for walls of rolling ambience · Powered by regular 9 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1 mm, <80 mA current draw)   The FERNWEH operates as two stacked delays that can be controlled separately, to cover your sound in a soft, atmospheric haze. This unique design allows the player to configure different time settings between the two delays, which can often result in elaborate rhythmic patterns or reverberating textures, followed by a lush trail.   In addition, FERNWEH sports a momentary switch for infinite self-oscillation and another switch to warp between time settings, switching from time A to B repeatedly. Set the time settings further apart for a rich, textured delay warping into a drenched, glistening reverb. Turn both times up and swap back and forth between the launch into space and the shattering descent back into orbit. Throughout all of this, the FERNWEH’s core sound always remains soft and familiarly vintage.   While the two delay signals are always running into each other, you can easily isolate either delay simply by turning down one of the mixes, and voilà - a straightforward delay.   However, for those of you who find yourselves looking to further push the limits of the FERNWEH, we suggest dimming the mix knob. A light boost will be engaged with the mix turned all the way up, adding some extra dirt for your sonic extravaganza.

And here’s a demo-video, in which someone uses a guitar with the pedal, but it works well with bass, synth and my usual noise sources as well.

The enclosure is handmade by GRM from recycled materials. The wooden frame is made from cut-off boards of the METSÄÄN studios annex construction site, painted with a metallic grey paint, mixed from two old found paint cans. The face plate  and bottom is cut from a huge piece of a rusty iron sheet, that i found in out yard from previous inhabitants, who luckily were hoarders (KEEPERS) as well. (The price does not include power adapter, it should be fine with a 9V DC (center negative, boss-style) one-spot solution.)

what’s the weirdest guitar pedal you own?

hmmm... I have "thinned the herd" in the past ten years, and in some cases replaced old favorites that didn't survive the road (one of the sadder things about the travel we do is that it is really really hard on equipment and things just break after being baked and frozen and baked and frozen in trucks and planes, bounced around until the screws come off and all the solder snaps.)

The Mid-Fi Electronics Clari-Not is kind of amazing, but the peace Gun has a more velcro-octave style sound, and has worked it's way into a lot more things.

The Earthquaker Pitch Bay is a multi-voiced pitch shifter that basically can create complex chords from single notes that kind of march around. I think the best way I can approach it is thinking of it as an electronic choir--the way swing vocalists sing in block chord formation. Its very clumpy and not very lyrical--kind of the the opposite of the POG which I also love, and translated very easily to recordings--even if it's just for fake bass.

I have written about this Line 6 FM4 is a very versatile guitar synth box with four presets--capable of very ugly and uncontrollable bass synth sounds, and there is even a heavy distortion sound that is quite synth but so raw you don't notice how processed it is.

Yesterday I bought a Blue Box. It was the first guitar pedal I ever purchased-in Washington DC from someone I realize now was most definitely a heroin addict. It was such an unpredictable box it really confused me, and the ring modulated aspect of it was just a hall of mirrors. I didn't know WHAT to expect from guitar pedals and just couldn't figure it out. It later got stolen when everything I owned was stolen. I tried replacing it with a much later reissue but they had tamed the circuit, but evidently there is a more reverent script-version reissue, and that what I am looking forward to reclaiming.

Never experienced the MOOD, the Red Panda Particle, the JPTR FX – Super Weirdo, the Bit Commander, the Keeley Synth 1, the Maris LVX, or that big white guitar synth with the seventies graphic on it that I can't remember the name of--so there is a lot out there I still need to check out.
