Ever dreamed of living like Hollywood royalty in an island oasis? Now’s your chance. Julia Roberts’ former Hawaiian estate—perched on the sun-kissed North Shore of Kaua‘i—is back on the market for a jaw-dropping $29.5 million. Known as the Limahuli Ocean Estate, this secluded four-bedroom retreat was once home to the “Pretty Woman” icon and her husband, cinematographer Danny Moder, who owned it for over a decade before selling in 2020 for $20 million. Neal Norman of Hawaii Life holds the current listing, and while the home is no longer under Roberts’ name, it still holds every ounce of cinematic charm. Coastal Living at Its Peak Set on 8.29 acres of pristine oceanfront, the estate offers more than just luxury, it’s surrounded by protected lands, including the National Tropical Botanical Garden and Hā‘ena State Park, which means the breathtaking views are forever preserved. From nearly every angle of the 3,123-square-foot home, you're treated to cinematic vistas: the endless Pacific Ocean, the lush Limahuli Valley, and the striking silhouette of Mt. Makana. Thoughtfully Restored, Impeccably Styled Originally built in 1970, the estate was elegantly remodeled by Walker Warner Architects, seamlessly blending the natural landscape with modern Hawaiian design. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows open the space to the outdoors, creating an effortless flow between indoor and alfresco living. Approaching the house, visitors ascend a white marble staircase to grand wooden double doors, framed by exposed timber beams. It’s an entrance that sets the tone for what lies beyond. Open Floor Plan That Breathes Step inside and you’re met with an open-concept layout—the dining area, kitchen, and living room all transition with ease, divided only by a minimalist half-wall. The living room impresses with a wood-paneled cathedral ceiling, hardwood floors, and current furnishings that include a plush white sectional and a creamy circular rug, all designed to keep the focus on the view. Nearby, the kitchen serves as a showpiece: a central eat-in island topped with warm wood, housing an oven, stovetop, and a second sink. Cabinets are custom wood-paneled, countertops sleek and black, and the dining nook by the window offers mesmerizing, unobstructed ocean views. A Primary Suite That Stuns The primary bedroom is nothing short of sanctuary. Expansive windows line the wall, offering panoramic views of the coastline. Warm wood walls and polished floors enhance the space’s natural elegance. Attached is a spa-like ensuite bathroom, complete with a soaking tub, dual vanities, an outdoor shower, and seating area—all wrapped in wood and framed by tropical scenery. Wellness at Home One of the additional bedrooms has been transformed into a private home gym, outfitted with a weight rack, padded flooring, and more—plus, as with most rooms, it features floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto the lush greenery outside. Other guest bedrooms maintain the home’s consistent style: white wood-paneled walls, exposed ceiling beams, hardwood floors, and expansive views of the surrounding mountains. Outdoor Living Done Right From the main living area, double glass doors swing open to a covered lanai—complete with cathedral-style wooden ceilings and comfortable seating. Beyond it, a grassy knoll holds two lounge chairs positioned perfectly for sunset watching or morning meditation. Want to stroll down to the beach? Go ahead—the home offers direct access to the shoreline, turning ocean dips into a daily ritual. Lush Grounds and Hidden Corners The estate doesn’t just sit in nature, it embraces it. Wander through the property and you’ll find a running stream, pockets of native brush, and shady tree groves where the current owners have hung a charming wooden swing. Hidden nooks for outdoor dining or reading are scattered throughout the grounds, offering quiet moments amid natural splendor. Infinity Pool and a Private Guesthouse Tucked away on the property is a sleek 490-square-foot infinity pool, where cushioned loungers invite lazy afternoons. And for guests—or your own private retreat—there’s a separate one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse steps away from the main home. Close to Town, Yet Worlds Away While this estate feels blissfully remote, it’s only a 20-minute drive to Hanalei Town, where charming shops, cafes, and community life await. The property spans three legal parcels, giving future buyers the rare opportunity to build additional structures or simply enjoy the space as-is. From its Hollywood pedigree to its unrivaled location and breathtaking natural beauty, the Limahuli Ocean Estate is more than a property, it’s a legacy. And at $29.5 million, it’s a once-in-a-generation chance to own a private slice of paradise, with the Pacific at your feet and the mountains at your back. Read the full article

End of Year Reading Tag 📚
I was tagged on my main account by @therefugeofbooks so I thought "what a better way to start my new bookblr blog, then through my 2021 readings?". Thanks for the tag, Caah! <3
Let's go to the questions:
did you reach your reading goal for the year (if you had one)?
No, I didn't :( But I almost reached it! My goal was to read 55 books and I finished 2021 by reading 44 books. I was happy, though, because I've read 40+ books!
what are your top 3 books you read this year?
The Song of Achilles, by Madeline Miller;
La vie devant soi, by Romain Gary;
Time's Divide, by Rysa Walker.
what’s a book that you didn’t expect to enjoy quite so much going in?
Proteja-me, by Mila Wander & Josy Stoque. It was clearly from the beginning that it was a more madure and erotic book. And even though i like the spicy scenes, till this book I haven't found one that had a really good plot, characters and writing. So I started reading it with precaution, knowing it was going to be hard to me to like it. But, surprisingly, IT WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED. The writing was great, the characters had depth, the plot was more than the "i want to fuck her/him", it had drama, it discussed important topics, it had emotional growth, the majority of the female characters respected each other (even though they might despise each other at some points). Great, great, great reading!
were there any books that didn’t live up to your expectations?
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson. I think that great part was from the fact that I already knew major spoilers about it, because of pop culture references. But still, I was hoping I was going to enjoy the read a bit more.
did you reread any old faves? If so, which one was your favourite?
I did reread some books, but none were previously my favourites. I don't even know if I can considere one of them my favourite rereads of 2021 ahhahah Maybe Glass Sword, by @vaveyard since I decided to finish the whole series and for that I needed to reread the first 2 volumes :)
did you dnf any books?
Only the ones I couldn't finish before the new year arrived (but spoiler: i already finished one of them):
Making and Breaking the Grid: A Graphic Design Layout Workshop, by Timothy Samara;
Broken Throne, by @vaveyard
did you read any books outside your usual preferred genre(s)?
Even though I LOVE Historical Romance movies and tv shows, I'm not very used to it as a book genre.
So, after binge watching the first whole season of Bridgerton on 2020, I decided to read the first book of the series: The Duke and I, by Julia Queen. I thought it was okay (apart from a specific scene), but still I feel I'm not 100% used to this genre.
what was your predominant format this year?
Well… e-book and digital reading. Even thought I've read a lot of physical books, e-book was 50% of my most read format.
what’s the longest book you read this year?
Horror Clássico, a 3-in-1 ebook: it has together Frankenstein, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Dracula. I am now considering myself an gothic literature affectionate hahhaha
what are your top 3 anticipated 2022 releases?
I'm not much in touch with releases… So I don't know…
what books from your tbr did you not get to this year, but are excited to read in 2022?
I don't normally do TBRs, only during read-a-thons. But I'm going to answer this question based on my "Want to Read" pile from Goodreads (which for me is kinda like a TBR):
Oscar et la dame rose, by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt;
The Mirror & the Light, Hilary Mantel (I have even already bought it!);
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, by Suzanne Collins;
Clockwork Angel, by Cassandra Clare;
The Hobbit, by J. R. R. Tolkien

Event Report: Rhode Island Comic Con 2019
Tumblr media
The eighth annual Rhode Island Comic Con took place November 1-3 at the Rhode Island Convention Center and the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI. With the new layout implemented the previous year proving to be successful, the show ran like a well-oiled machine. When not enamored by the countless vendors, I spent a good deal of the weekend in the panel rooms listening to anecdotes from a host of beloved actors.
The first panel of the weekend was with The Office's Brian Baumgartner (who played Kevin) and Leslie David Baker (who played Stanley). After being forced to turn away dozens of fans from last year's The Office Q&A with other cast members, the convention smartly booked the bigger panel room this time around. They discussed the show's longevity and the possibility of a revival. "It will never be the same," Baker stated, but they remain open to the idea; he encouraged fans to write to NBC if they want to see it. Many laughs were had, with Baumgartner occasionally slipping into his character’s voice, in addition to dropping not one but two "That's what she said!" jokes.
Tumblr media
Richard Dreyfuss' panel immediately followed. The Academy Award-winning actor opened by saying that he has answered every Jaws question over the years, so if you ask one he hasn't heard he'll give you $10 - but if you ask one he has heard you owe him $10. He promised more than just funny stories from film sets - although that's what most people wanted to hear. More than half of the 45-minute discussion was dedicated to the absence of civics in today's educational system, a subject on which Dreyfuss wrote a soon-to-be-published book. He did answer a few film-related questions, but the moderator - a local podcast host - did not help the situation.
A Q&A with Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, was a fun way to cap off the first day. A born storyteller with an encyclopedic knowledge of film, his panels are always fascinating. He discussed his work in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise at length, citing Part 4 has his favorite performance, New Nightmare as his favorite to make, and Tina from Part 1 as his favorite death scene. With questions culled from Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, Galaxy of Terror, and Never Too Young to Die, Englund called it his most esoteric panel. He concluded by telling the audience about True Terror, a new Travel Channel series he's hosting that's set to premiere in February.
Tumblr media
I've never watched a single episode of Star Trek, but I had a hunch that William Shatner's panel would be wildly entertaining - and he proved me right. With no need for a moderator, he began by telling the captive audience about The Ride, an upcoming documentary following his eight-day motorcycle journey from Chicago to Los Angeles, and his new blues album that's due out next year. Surprisingly, there were no Star Trek questions; topics of conversation ranged from Judgment at Nuremberg and Better Late Than Never to working with whales and his likeness being used for Michael Myers' mask in Halloween.
The godfather of the modern action figure, Marty Abrams, shared the fascinating story of his Mego Corporation. While Abrams remained diplomatic, Mego consultant Paul Clarke asserted their side of the infamous Star Wars story. Abrams did not pass on the Star Wars license; he was in Japan working on Micronauts and never had a meeting. In a "perfect storm," Kenner happened to be located in the same building and signed the deal before Abrams returned. He estimates it cost him billions of dollars. It was a riveting companion to the Kenner-centric Star Wars episode of Netflix's The Toys That Made Us. Abrams also revealed that a Micronauts TV series and movie are in development. The recently relaunched Mego is looking into more contemporary packaging and more play value to appeal to the younger demographic. They're also continuing to expand their licenses, with Star Trek: The Next Generation coming soon.
Tumblr media
I attempted to attend the Stranger Things panel on Saturday evening, but my lack of a mysterious wristband - about which no advanced information was issued - prevented me from doing so. It was a blessing in disguise, however, as I used the spare time to score a front-row seat for Elijah Wood's Q&A. Despite being one of the headlining guests, Wood was in the smaller panel room, which quickly reached capacity.
Wood shared several anecdotes about The Lord of the Rings, confirming that the fellowship actors have matching tattoos and disclosing that he has never read J.R.R. Tolkien's source material. ("I lived the books," he quipped.) He revealed that although Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is likely done for good, there have been talks of an animated continuation. He also expressed his desire to direct, stating that he would gravitate toward genre films. He cited The Thing, The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, Don't Look Now, Carrie, and The Innocents as his favorite horror films, with Goodnight Mommy, Hereditary, and The Witch being recent favorites. He even rushed off stage to hug a Canadian fan who drove over four hours to see Mandy - produced by Wood's SpectreVision - on the big screen.
Tumblr media
Sunday morning kicked off with Christina Ricci's panel. A self-described "very different child," she hypothesized that being raised in a chaotic atmosphere led her to darker roles as a child actress, but playing those parts also impacted her. She cites Buffalo 66 and The Ice Storm among the roles she's most proud of. She loved the technical aspects of working on The Addams Family and considers herself particularly lucky to have worked with Raul Julia. When asked about playing Morticia in an Addams Family reboot, she said she'd be happy to, but it would make more sense for her to play an adult Wednesday. She also discussed making her debut at the age of 7 in a Saturday Night Live skit, an embarrassing experience filming Casper’s kissing scene in the early days of CGI, smoking her first cigarette with Winona Ryder on the set of Mermaids, and understanding the importance of Lizzie Borden upon appearing in New England that weekend.
Like his Star Trek co-star, George Takei was not accompanied by a moderator. He began by speaking about They Called Us Enemy, his new graphic novel about being imprisoned in a Japanese-American interment camp at the age of 5 following the bombing of Pearl Harbor, despite the fact that he and his family were born in America. The subject matter sadly remains relevant, but it was heartening to hear his resolve as well as the audience's reaction. The actor/activist also publicly revealed his support of Pete Buttigieg for the Democratic presidential nomination. He discussed how Star Trek has "lived long and prospered" for over 50 years before proudly speaking about his recent work on AMC's The Terror: Infamy, on which he served as a consultant in addition to acting. While answering fan questions, he shared a humorous anecdote about doing the Howard Stern show for the first time without knowing what he was getting into.
Tumblr media
Rhode Island Comic Con marked comedy legend Chevy Chase's first convention, leading a Vacation family reunion, and saw the final public appearance of Sesame Street's former Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, Caroll Spinney. In addition to those mentioned, the guest list included Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Evanna Lynch (Harry Potter), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club), Patrick Warburton (The Tick), Alex Kingston (Doctor Who), Robert Patrick (Terminator 2), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), Jaleel White (Family Matters), Richard Brake (Three from Hell), professional wrestling legend Mick Foley, and dozens more.
Beyond the impressive line-up of celebrity guests and a wide variety of vendors, Rhode Island Comic Con also featured comic book creators ranging from big names to indie up-and-comers, exclusive merchandise, after parties, kids activities, geek speed dating, and more. Cosplayers are always a highlight, so I was eager to catch the costume contest on Sunday afternoon. A great Buzz Lightyear - who nailed not only the costume but also the mannerisms - took home the grand prize, bringing the weekend’s fun to infinity and beyond.

Movie theater is a powerful tool that mixes the various elements of society of society. Fashion is an integral element of any kind of society. In the past, we've have actually seen some inspiring motion pictures that had some memorable style moments. Some of them ended up being so significant that they started a trend.
No, we will not be discussing the biker jacket with CUSTOM PATCHES of Tom Cruise that he used in Top Gun nor we will discuss the manly appearance of Brad Pitt in Fight Club. This listicle will only mention the classiest and also chicest pieces of clothes that was revealed on in a motion picture. Allow's check them out:
1. Julia Roberts Looks Chic in Polka Dots as well as Leather Boots in Pretty Woman
This 1990 flick had some legendary fashion minutes. The motion picture starred both legendary actors Richard Gere as well as Julia Roberts who set fire on the display with their intense chemistry. However, it was Julia Roberts who stole the program with her propensity of design in this romedy that focused on the tale of 2 enthusiasts.
The highpoint of the motion picture is the scene where Julia Roberts is seen putting on a polka dot in while she was seeing a polo match. And also there was a scene when Gere as well as Roberts strolled on the road putting on the well-known thigh-high leather boots. The scenes were the specifying minutes of the film.
2. Heather Duke Makes a Style Statement with The Crunchy in Heathers
Checkered sports jackets, colored leggings, captured t shirts and also pleated skirts, yes we are discussing the coterie of women in the Heathers. The posh clothes was the factor that the young adults just loved this movie. The highlight of the film was when Heather Duke took off the red crunchy of her classmate as well as put it on her hairs. That was actually awesome!
3. Richard Gere Wears Exquisite Armani Suits in American Gigolo
American Gigolo was the film that introduced the Hollywood to Giorgio Armani. The collaboration was considerable for Amani who was still not in the organization of A-listers and also was setting his feet in the fashion industry. The movie released his label as well as in the Hollywood and also gave him the much needed boost.
American Gigolo starred Richard Gere that looked snappy using the elegant Armani fits that made him look extremely stylish and advanced. The scene where he undergoes his wardrobe to discover the most effective match genuinely specifies the perspective of a man with a high preference in fashion. However that doesn't imply that we do not enjoy the bombing plane coats with custom patches of Armani. But that's a different story.
4. The 1920s Look of Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey in The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby was set on the age of 1920s when Jazz music was at its zenith. The production designer Catherine Martin worked together with Prada to make outfits to recreate the 1920s look as well as she did it like a pro. The many matches wore by Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire captured the appearance of the 1920s and made the characters look genuine as well as believable.
It is absolutely the most renowned films which recorded numerous moments from the 1920s style. The movie won the Oscar prize for the best outfit layout.
5. The Green Gown Suit of Vivien Leigh in Gone with The Wind
Selected The Wind is a masterpiece from the David O. Selznick who is regarded as one of the very best films in background of Hollywood. Part of the success of the movie is related to its sophisticated outfits that were created by Walter Plunkett.
The very best parts of the films were the scenes where Vivien Leigh is seen using the couture-made matches and also lush, cinch-waist skirt gowns. And that can forget the moment when Scarlett made the green gown match from the curtains. It was legendary.

Edith Head brings the best out of her craft in costume design in this classic by Alfred Hitchcock. The movie started her collaboration with Hitchcock who hired her to do the outfits for most of his films. Elegance Kelly breathed life to the Lisa Carol Fremont putting on those swish skirts and close-fitting tops.
The pearl pendant, elbow-length gloves as well as Hermés bag added an air of sophistication in her personality. We can not single out one scene in Rear Window as one moment of the movie as Grace Kelly charmed the target market in every shot. She objectified the appeal of Lisa Carol Fremont from top to bottom.
7. Harrison Ford Wears Fedora Like a True Swag in Raiders of the Lost Ark
. It was the creativity of the wizard Steven Spielberg as well as the gravitas of Harrison Ford that made Harrison Ford look like a dapper in the character of Indiana Jones. For the look of Indiana Jones, it was all fedora. Remove the hat from his character and also he is gone. Turner Works converts Cotswolds barn into creative retreat DUT18
Architect Carl Turner has teamed up with creative agency Accept & Proceed to transform a Dutch-style barn in the English countryside into a holiday home with a difference.
DUT18 is a seven-bedroom retreat in the Cotswolds that facilitates wellness retreats and creative workshops, as well as family stays.
The house is a converted Dutch-style barn
Turner's studio, which recently rebranded as Turner Works, created the venue by taking apart an old shed and putting it back together with a new steel cladding and internal layout.
Accept & Proceed founders David and Laura Johnston initiated the project after attending The DO Lectures, an annual event in Wales that brings together creatives from around the world.
Large windows reveal the building's new use
"I was inspired to create a similar space where creatives and pioneers could get away from it all – refresh, rethink, rewire – in order to tackle the huge problems, we face as a society," said David.
At the same time, they wanted to create a versatile space that could also accommodate other activities, from yoga retreats to workshops with children and families.
The walls and roof are clad in corrugated steel
"Laura and I live in London, so we conjured up DUT18 to give us what we don't get in the city," David explained.
"As a family, it's an amazing place to go and spend time together, share experiences and explain to the kids our place in nature. As the leader of a studio, it's a great place for the team to connect and talk about our plans for the future."
The ground floor is an open, adaptable living space
Turner's design sees the shed become a two-storey, 275-square-metre house, with an open-plan ground floor that is large enough to be used for a wide range of activities.
There is one bedroom on this lower level, accessible for guests with limited mobility, plus a further six upstairs. There are also four bathrooms, plus a first-floor lounge, ensuring that guests can find privacy and comfort when they want it.
An atrium is overlooked by a first-floor balcony
Corrugated steel clads both the walls and the roof, giving a clean matt black finish to DUT18's exterior.
"Corrugated steel lends a rhythm and texture to the 23-metre long elevations and curved roof," said Turner. "It unifies the facade and roof, simplifying the overall volume, and reducing the appearance of the barn to its purest form when seen from a distance."
Curtains allow the space to be partitioned
The new window opened have been made as large as possible, to take full advantage of the views and allow ground floor rooms to extend out into the landscape.
"Facade openings have been positioned and sized to respond to the barn's new use as a living space, giving the overall building a human scale," added Turner.
"Where original openings accommodated large agricultural vehicles, they now carefully frame views across the rolling hills and countryside."
Furniture is made from durable Douglas fir, with some pieces on castors
This industrial materials palette continues through the living spaces, creating spaces that be easily adapted.
Furniture pieces are custom made from durable Douglas fir, with some mounted on castors for easy mobility. There's also a grey wool curtain that can be used to subdivide the ground floor space.
The house contains seven bedrooms, with six on the upper level
Turner has previously worked on a variety of both housing buildings and workspaces for artists and designers. These include a barn conversion and extension project of his own and the Peckham Levels development.
This experience, plus the fact he previously designed David and Laura's home, made him the obvious choice for this project.
There are four bathrooms in total
The architect is currently working on further additions to DUT18, including a children's play area made from repurposed components and a series of external sleeping pods.
There are also plans to install a wildflower meadow and a series of meditative walks, as part of a collaboration with designer and environmentalist Julia Watson.
The house will soon be accompanied by outdoor sleeping pods
"I feel we are in a time of great revealing, where everything is being unearthed but there is no new story to replace it," added David.
"Workshops at the barn will hold a space to shape a new vision and be connected to others who are also looking for a new story and a better way. It's really a magical place to help create a better future."
Photography is by French + Tye.

Why Did Julia Roberts Pick a Home in Presidio Heights—and Where the Heck Is It?
David M. Benett/Dave Benett/Getty Images
It looks as if Julia Roberts has done more than leave her heart in San Francisco. The A-list actress now also has a lovely home there.
The news that the star of “Pretty Woman” has scooped up a shingled mansion in the neighborhood of Presidio Heights has set the internet abuzz.
Roberts has been spotted in the foggy city over the years, and while we could speculate on the personal reasons behind the purchase, we’d rather take a look at her choice in real estate. Specifically, why did she pick Presidio Heights, and where the heck is this not-so-well-known neighborhood?
Presidio Heights is a savvy pick
For those unfamiliar with the area, her choice of neighborhood might be puzzling. It doesn’t have the name recognition of posh Pacific Heights, although it borders on that much better-known nabe. It’s snuggled right up against the Presidio, in the northwest corner of the city.
It’s nowhere near the trendy South of Market area, where many newly minted millionaires have been busy dropping cash on condos. That neighborhood is home to Salesforce Tower, Millennium Tower, and the Four Seasons Residences on Mission Street, where Steph Curry just spent $8 million on an as yet unbuilt pied-à-terre close to the Chase Center.
Instead, Roberts chose a quiet, secluded, family-friendly—and pricey—neighborhood, close to excellent schools, and where 100-year-old Tudors and Victorians dot the streets. In fact, a mini Petit Trianon-style mansion for $21.8 million, just up the street from the home Roberts purchased, is one of the most expensive listings in San Francisco.
A home with a view (or two)
Built in 1907, the place Roberts bought is a classic residence designed by the architect Sylvain Schnaittacher and remodeled by John Wheatman. The layout features views of the San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge from the kitchen, family room, and the master bedroom suite.

Along with five floors, five bedrooms, and 4.5 baths, the 6,245-square-foot space includes a bonus room on the top floor, and a two-car tandem garage, wine room, outdoor dining space, and garden.
The property was originally on the market in 2019 for $10.25 million, and its price dropped last fall to $9.65 million before finally selling in January for $8.3 million. The residence previously changed hands in 1997 for $1.88 million.
The hilltop locale features stately homes, views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and an easy walk to Presidio Park, which borders the neighborhood.
The park offers access to the fields and tennis courts of Presidio Wall Playground, hiking trails, and golf. The artist Andrew Goldsworthy’s breathtaking “Wood Line” site-specific installation can be found there, one of three he made in the Presidio.

A real San Francisco treat
Even though it’s not in the center of the city’s action, Presidio Heights is definitely not the suburbs.
A few blocks away on California and Sacramento streets are Michelin-starred restaurants, as well as coffee shops, local markets, and boutiques. It’s also the home of one of the city’s oldest operating movie theaters, the Vogue, which just hosted the Mostly British film festival that attracted stars like Ben Mendelsohn and Will Forte.
Walk or bike a few blocks more, to Arguello Boulevard, and feast on the famed croissants from the top-rated Arsicault Bakery. So yes, if, as we suspect, the actress is also a foodie, she’ll be very happy on the western side of the city.
Plus, the location is about 15 minutes by car to the Financial District, and about an hour to Silicon Valley.
Low-key and loving it
In short, the high-end nabe isn’t overly ostentatious and would prefer to stay that way.
“The neighborhood is a fabulous neighborhood. It’s been long sought out, since I’ve been selling real estate,” says the San Francisco agent Val Steele, with Compass. “If you like anything about nature and outdoors, you’ve got the largest urban national park in your backyard.”
The neighborhood is also reportedly the home of Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who dropped $7.35 million on a residence two years ago.
And it’s close to the private enclave of Presidio Terrace—the only gated community in the city—which Sen. Diane Feinstein once called home. The very limited number of 36 homes don’t come up on the market often, but one represented by Dennis Otto of Compass is currently on the market for $9 million.
“You’ve got good walkability,” says Otto of the area. “It’s got a low-key vibe to it, great housing stock. People kind of respect each other’s privacy.” He adds, “To me, it feels a little bit less congested than what you might get in some other neighborhoods. The homes are really large and beautiful. It’s a great place to raise a family.”
Roberts reportedly spent the weekend of her 50th birthday in the city back in 2017. And she thrilled diners and wait staff alike when she celebrated her 52nd birthday in 2019 at the Outer Sunset outpost Outerlands.
Now that she also has a home here, we imagine she’ll be seen around town much more than on her birthday.
Caroline Kahn Werboff with Sotheby’s International Realty-San Francisco Brokerage represented the seller. Nina Hatvany with Compass represented the buyer.
