did kolya ever dispose the bodies of alex and julia? (i cant remember if that was their names hehe its been a while...)
because i've been wondering if he got caught and arrested or he just ran off too, OR he just murdered the rest of the officer's? AND HOW DARE HE KISS ANOTHER WOMAN ? was it basically just a plan to get closer to the reader at the end. i got so many questions (im still not healed 😐)
ah i just really love any discussion about stalker!nikolai bcs i really love to hear thoughts and opinions and theories from you guys 😆
well, to answer, julia was 'disposed', sort of. she was, after all, mutilated and stuffed into garbage bags and the rests of her body were thrown at the back gate of the haunted fair—near the forest. alex, well... after y/n and nikolai ran away from the police, alex's corpse was being left on the road but a few police did find him and surround his body as our main couple ran away and had their conflict somewhere.
whether kolya got caught or got bailed or ran off, that's totally up to interpretation. is this an excuse that i don't have storyline for that? no! bcs i do have the real answer on how nikolai is still 'free' even after all that incident and why he kissed the woman.
and below this :readmore:, i'm telling briefly on what actually happened (from the writer's perspective lmao). but again, i did intentionally leave the details bcs i like to have my readers interpret the scenes however they want
so, firstly, whether nikolai does possess The Overcoat in this au does not matter. in my mind, he was caught up by the polices and there are already several implications that he has connection with fyodor still (based from ivan's scene). he complied with the authority while also depending on fyodor (or anyone you want, really... or perhaps himself) to help him with the proofs and accusations. so, yes, he was caught up and complied to the authorities. i believe nikolai is not a man who kill unnecessarily (alex is necessary lmao and julia... well, he killed her bcs she made y/n's life horrible. so she got that chop chop). as i believed he is such a man, i can't really see him murdering all the polices... especially after his funfair was raided, alex's corpse was left on the road near the fair, etc. the most logical way to do this is to play smart. and besides, in BSD universe itself, the polices are kinda weak and like.... how many fucking murderers roaming the BSD world😭 pretty sure nikolai can tweak the law and system easily, especially considering he was a secretary for the ministry of justice years ago.
but! like i said, you can freely think however you want him to escape or be free. he killed the polices? sure! he escaped thru his portal? yeay! he just get caught and spent 3 months in jail? okay! — after all, you are the reader.
secondly, yes, he kissed maya (i was hurted too writing that goddamn) and fortunately he rejected her offer to have sex because he is THAT loyal. and well, while he made out with maya purely to manipulate the poor lady emotionally to get to the reader, but hey :) at least he kissed you back thousands times more desperate and hungrier and passionate.

KAMMERORCHESTER BASEL Y NURIA RIAL
Tumblr media
COLONNA, PERTI, POLLAROLO, TORELLI: CONCERTOS AND CANATAS
AAAAA!!! This bit!! He had made digs about her ghost-seeing claims and even poked about her dead father but always when she gave back as good as she got. When she’s genuinely vulnerable, he just listens and AAAAA!!!!! She is being so vulnerable here, for the first time ever with him, and he so easily could have hurt her now her shields are down but instead he offers comfort...

And this sums up Ivan’s whole attitude towards Julia’s ghost seeing for the entirety of the show. He doesn’t get it in any way, she says she sees them and she says because of that she needs X, Y or Z or knows A, B, or C, and he may not be able to see and know ghosts but he sees and knows Julia and that’s good enough for him.

And this is the first time she reaches for him in tenderness and not just lust...I especially love that little bit where he pulls away as if to make sure they both want the new more emotionally driven make-outs between them, because it does mean something now, even if neither will admit it.

New upcoming film: L'home dels nassos
@asongofstarkandtargaryen
Director Abigail Schaaff's first fiction film, "L'home dels nassos", a combination of mythology and historical memory, began shooting at the beginning of February and will continue through the first days of March. Before "L'home dels nassos", Abigail Schaaff has directed various series, such as "Ventdelplà", "La última", "El ministerio del tiempo" and "Madres. Amor y vida".
The film is a period drama that combines adventure and fantasy, and through this mythological being, a man visible only on December 31 and who has as many noses as days of the year.
Set in 1968, the film tells the story of three children, in a mountain village, who try to escape from the "home dels nassos" (the man of the noses), a mythological being, visible only on the last day of the year, who captures lying children, has informed the distributor Trafalgar.
The feature film connects the 1930s and the 1960s and reflects the lies and silence imposed for decades, starring Pablo Derqui (Isabel, Los ojos de Julia, Si no t'hagués conegut, La Catedral del mar, La dona del segle) and Ivan Benet (Cerca de tu casa, Nit i dia, Teatre Lliure: l'ànec saltvage, Moebius).
The cast also includes Mercè Llorens (Mesrine: Parte 1. Instinto de muerte, El Comisario, Hospital Central, La niña de la comunión), Pep Munné (Caza al asesino, Visions d'un estrany, Lifting de corazón, Periodistas, Smiley), Maria Molins (El bosque, A la deriva, Hijo de Caín, Entrevías), Jeannine Mestre (Goya, Tornarem, Savannah Bay, Vértigo en Manhattan), Jorge Motos (Lucas, La Caza. Monteperdido, Tú no eres yo, Con mis ojos, Feria: la luz más oscura), Berner Maynes (Después también, Svetlana: Moderna del Raval), Malcolm McCarthy (Nieva en Benidorm, Cuba libre, Amar es para siempre, Foodie love), Salli Diallo, Miranda Munné and Lluc Miravete.
Filming is taking place in different locations in Catalonia, such as Mura, the hermitage of Sant Julià d'Uixols in Castellterçol, the Collsuspina cave, the forest and the Romanesque bridge of Gualba and Can Plantada, in La Ametlla del Valles.
The film is a co-production of Aguacate & Calabaza Films, L'home dels nassos AIE, Inaudita and the French production company Halley Production, and in turn, has the support of Televisió de Catalunya, ICEC, ICAA and CREA SGR.

Queerbaiting in real life -and it's not what you think it is.
So this is no longer 2 cents. This is a whole dollar because I am sick and tired of certain parts of the fandom discourse re: what happened with Misha. Because I KEEP reading people having to "forgive" (or, conversely "hating") Misha for "queerbaiting" us and In the wise words of Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word, it doesn't mean what you think it means.
(Once again, YOUR feelings about the situation ARE valid, yes. You have the absolute right to feel hurt over everything that happened. BUT I also urge you to consider WHY are you hurt, and WHO hurt you. Especially given the horrible biphobia that the fandom showed even BEFORE Misha spoke up)
Queerbaiting is, at its core, "the practice of implying non-straight relationships or attraction to engage or attract an LGBTQ audience or otherwise generate interest without ever actually depicting such relationships or sexual interactions". Which means that no, a real person can't "queerbait" because come on, do we want everyone to parade their private lives around all the time? (This is even HARDER for say, a bi person. I mean, are we REALLY going to start asking for queer credentials and demand every bi person is in a poly relationship with partners of more than one gender just to prove they're bi? WTF people!)
More importantly, what kind of benefit would this weekend have? No one sold tickets "so you could hear the most incredible secret of Misha's life", and while Stands did send that mail about the pins and everything... well, if everything HAD been a pr move, don't you think it would've lasted MORE than three days? I mean, at least until SOMEONE bought something and couldn't take the order back!
And besides... We, society, know EXACTLY what "RL" queerbaiting looks like. And yes, the younger members of fandom may not know about this, but I side eye any 30 + year old Queer who ignores this.
Allow me to introduce you to t.A.T.u:
youtube
This video? Was SO SHOCKING in 2002 that the UK wanted to forbid it world wide.
t.A.T.u was a Russian (YES, I know) girlband formed by Lena Katina and Julia Volkova in 2001, when both girls were 15. They came from a children's music group named Neposedy and had been scouted specifically by producer and director Ivan Shapovalov in order to fulfill a very curious concept he had.
The name of the group (usually pronounced Tattoo) comes from the phrase Та любит ту (ta lyubit tu) which literally means "This girl loves that girl" so... yeah, the concept was VERY Clear if you add the video up there, right?
And I mean it, there was NO official image of these two that was not dripping with sapphic longing

I can't sleep, so hey, my .2 cents on what happened.
First, disclaimer: I am a cis-bisexual woman who was lucky enough to be born to two very open minded parents (and, ironically a match made in homophobic heaven. My dad was gay, and only married because he wanted kids and he didn't want to come out to his mother, My mom is a lesbian who, up until three years ago, was in the most transparent closet in the universe and ALSO married just because she wanted children and didn't want to come out to her family, AND the other option was a convent. So, yeah) and while I had had that one very awkward "but are you SURE you are not 100% gay? I mean, you can be gay and we'll love you anyway" conversation I think every bi and pan person has had at some point in their lives, I never had the impression that I had to HIDE that I liked both boys and girls when I was growing up from my PARENTS.
Clear point there: My parents.
So in a way, the whole "Coming out to family and friends" is a bit alien to me.
Even now, I didn't really came out as much as I stopped denying it when asked point out. So, when the first news came out about Misha's slip of tongue on Friday? I was happy for him because THAT's exactly how I -and many, many of my Bi friends- ended up coming out. Casually, by accident, and trying to change the subject to a different thing.
HOWEVER... I also don't blame him for correcting himself ("taking it back") for two reasons:
If his current label is straight? Then good for him that he corrected the record as soon as he could -even if I find it weird that he didn't know about it until now as I assume there were a lot of bi-fans squealing the whole weekend- because doing otherwise WOULD be really bad and leading on fans (See: T.a.T.u for the best example of that. RL Queerbaiting, no joke) And yes, I said CURRENT label because I 100% believe that sexuality is fluid. A person can identify as cis-straight at one point of their lives, then as cis gay, then as trans-gay after a long road of discovery, then as trans straight when they realize that they were attracted to the opposite gender (To their REAL gender, not their ASAB gender) all along, and it is ALL Valid.
However... IF he is Bisexual? Then we have to consider WHY he might have felt he had to take it back, and it was not JUST that it was made a big deal out of it in the Media and Social Media.
I mean... the reactions that were not 100% supportive? Were a cesspool of horrible biphobia that just reminded me of the one truth that every queer person knows: No matter how safe you think you are, no matter how much you trust the people around, no matter how much society insists that it's OK to be GAY now? Coming out is ALWAYS hard, and it will always HAVE backlash.
Coming out as Bi, Pan, Ace or Aro? Same thing but in HARD modality (And when you add coming out as Trans? That's Nightmare difficulty and I am so sorry it is so)
So yeah, I can see someone trying their toes in the queer pool, coming out as a bit of a joke, as a bit of a casual thing, trying to see how the label fits. And then being first love bombed -because as far as I know, in the con itself? It was all love, rainbows and puppies- but then coming back to reality and social media and... well, reading all THAT.
Some queer people could say "Ok, my bed, I laid on it, I can do this." But others? Well, others could go "yeah... no. This... This is not worth it. I can go back to the safe presenting side and... just hide part of me". AND BOTH ARE VALID. BOTH ARE OK. BECAUSE we all have to remember that every individual's path is, well, individual.
So, as I stand, for me there are two possibilities: Either Misha is Straight, he misspoke, he apologized and we should all respect that -which doesn't necessarily means forgiving him or accepting the apology. That's something YOU have to decide on your own. Just, respect that he APOLOGIZED- or he is Bisexual, got very spooked at coming out and ran back into the closet, which should ALSO be respected if it's the truth because rule number ONE of the Queer fight club is : WE DO NOT FORCE ANYONE OUT OF THE CLOSET.
So TL;DR? If Misha is identifying as straight? I respect that. If he at a later time changes his label? I WILL respect that and NOT take this incident as a point against him. Is it FAIR and OK if you felt hurt by the REACTIONS around it, but it is also important to remember that he is human, he also has feelings and, INCLUDING his apology? He has NEVER once gave us a reason to believe he is not at the very least a great ally who is willing to learn, to listen and to CHANGE his attitudes if needed.
And I think that's what we all should take out from this (Besides the importance of re-visiting at a later time the fact that for a very gay friendly fandom? There's also a lot of virulent biphobia going around)
OH! And if you need a safe place to come out? My DMS are open. Seriously, I can be your trial run for typing those words if you need one. My services as queer fandom auntie are always, always open for everyone.

Believe it or not, this is one of the BIGGEST honors someone can get in Mexico. Your own bootleg TORTAS food cart (Tortas or tacos. Both work)
BTW, "Tortas ahogadas" are literally "Drowned Tortas", which are basically your average torta pretty much drowned in salsa.

My #1 post of 2022
American Uterus-having people:
I'm so sorry about what is going on, but you guys aren't defeated yet. Because of the leak? You have time to organize, protest and fight this draconian thing. Just... FIGHT. Don't stop sharing links, don't stop informing people of what is going on and what is at stake.
Non-Uterus having people, while you may think this doesn't affect you?Remember, this is just the first step back to the dark ages. And you won't like where this ends. So please, please, please, fight with your uterus having friends. Help them to protect reproductive rights, and that, in the end, will protect you too.
I'm not in the USA, and I'm not a citizen. So I can't vote and help you guys overturn this. But I can help you raise your voice, and retweet and reblog and let people know what's going on. And I will. Because this is not over, and the good guys can still win.
(Also, if you need a shoulder to cry, I'm here. We're all together in this)

Hi gp! I've got kind of a strange question! Which pairings had the more dominant, fiery Christine's with more soft boi phantoms? And vice versa, which pairings had the most dominant, possessive phantoms with the softest, angelic Christine's? If there even are pairings like this! I'd like to see the dichotomy and the juxtaposition between the two extremes in the pairing! Thanks!
Ooh interesting question, one that can be a bit difficult to think of pairings for, as most actors will change their performance subtly to match their costar. But here are a few pairings with a dominant, possessive Phantom and a softer Christine:
Colm Wilkinson and Patti Cohenour - Wilkinson had a domineering, grounded, and rather sexual presence as the Phantom, while Cohenour really was, well, angelic: large-eyed, head in the clouds, ethereal, full of compassion. It made for some interesting interactions between the two.
Peter Karrie and Teresa DeZarn - A similar dynamic to the above, only Karrie was much, much crazier. Interestingly, someone who knew Karrie said that he considered DeZarn (as well as Elizabeth DeGrazia) some of his favorite actresses to perform with, as their softer interpretations made him feel protective of them.
Ian Jon Bourg and Olivia Safe - If you've seen Bourg, especially in the German productions, you know that this guy commands the stage with his booming voice (and also he's pretty tall). Olivia Safe, meanwhile, is just the most innocent, most child-like Christine he's performed with. You end up wanting to pull her Christine off the stage and protect her from everything happening to her.
Hugh Panaro and Julie Hanson - Similar to Bourg and Safe above, with two key differences: 1) Panaro is far more manipulative and mind game-y than Bourg, and 2) whereas Olivia Safe's childish innocence made her oblivious of her danger, Julie Hanson was terrified out of her mind by the end.
Hugh Panaro and Elizabeth Welch - Yes, Panaro again, but this time with Elizabeth Welch, who is more on the soft, merciful end of the Christine spectrum. Her interactions with Panaro are the epitome of, "I'm not mad, just disappointed." Not that she doesn't get angry at points, but throughout the show she doesn't looked scared or enraged, she just looks sad.
Cooper Grodin and Grace Morgan - Grodin is, well, Grodin: weird, violent, sexually possessive, pretty much the worst result you can get out of the restaged tour. Whereas Julia Udine responded by being spirited and feisty, the alternate, Grace Morgan, went the opposite way: she was sweet, she was sad, she kept trying to reach him. You want to tell her to stop wasting her tears on him.
Ivan Ozhogin and Tamara Kotova - Kotova was a sunshine-y angel whose expressions lit up the stage, while Ozhogin was aggressive and a head taller than her. I prefer her with Dmitri Ermak, who was more suave and crazy, but it's fun to watch her 'Final Lair' with Ozhogin as well, as you see her wrestling with her compassion for the Phantom versus her love and protectiveness of Raoul.
Geronimo Rauch and Harriet Jones - Going back to the more innocent Christines, we have Harriet Jones, whom I once saw described as a "tiny little ginger cutie with huge eyes that no one was expecting much from", and Geronimo Rauch, who... well he strangled her in the 'Final Lair', that should tell you all you need to know. Similar to some of the other child-like Christines, you end up feeling very protective of her (and very mad at the Phantom), but it's also incredible watching her draw upon wells of strength that you would not expect her to have.
The opposite is more difficult to think of, as the show does not work as well when you have a Christine who is more fiery than the Phantom (like, just leave girl, kick his butt). Here are a few that might fall kind of close:
Michael Crawford and Dale Kristien - I kind of included this because Michael Crawford is one of the softest, saddest Phantoms I know, and Dale Kristien is probably the most grounded, mature Christine that performed opposite him (that I've watched). Given her sympathy for him and how early this was in the show, it's not too different a performance, but it's still interesting to compare her to, say, Sarah Brightman, who was very dreamy.
Scott Davies and Meredith Braun - Meredith Braun is an interesting case because for most of the show, she would fit in better with the first category (especially with Scott Davies's Phantom, who was very in the vein of Peter Karrie). But post-'Wishing', her Christine becomes, well, scary. She never becomes violent, but she shoots the Phantom some of the scariest looks I have ever seen a Christine give. You end up fearing for the Phantom a little, should he try to force her into marriage, because her Christine would probably smother him with her pillow and escape at the first opportunity.
Jonathan Roxmouth and Meghan Picerno - I said this before in a review, but Meghan Picerno's Christine is so independent and so full of wrath that you never get the sense that she needs Raoul to protect or rescue her. It actually makes for some great chemistry between her and the Phantom, but I also get the sense that the only reason Roxmouth's Phantom remains alive is because he's, I dunno, a foot taller than her and built like a football player.
Ben Crawford and Ali Ewoldt - Okay, they don't really fit this category, I just love this gif of Ali Ewoldt chasing him and Ben Crawford flailing his arms in a panic:
