#see I was /there/ when moa was coming out and everyone was excited about annabeth's reunion with percy #but this whole reyna/annabeth exchange was immediately intriguing to me #like on one hand I've already said I don't like how annabeth is written in moa. but on the other hand there's something interesting here #you've got annabeth being so forthcoming (out of necessity) and now suddenly reyna is one of the characters who knows #best what annabeth has been through. and they already met! she's known annabeth since she was 13 (well not actively. but still)#and now she's finally gaining insight into the girl whose hair she tended to on circe's island before everything was ruined and she and #hylla were attacked by the pirates #the argo crew needed to leave new rome so fast bc of the eidolons but man. I really wanted more out of this #you have annabeth making so many assumptions about reyna and her love life in this scene but notably reyna is NOT forthcoming about her #own life. she didn't really share anything about herself. but maybe she would have if they'd had more time....
