Gemstones Episode 2.8, Continued: Macaulay Culkin grows up, the Cycle Ninjas break out, and Jussie Smollett shows his stuff
Previous: Episode 2.8: Baby Billy sees a ghost, Judy becomes a mom, and Kelvin gets *** up. With nude dwarf athletes
Baby Billy's Baby Boy: Harmon the special-needs son who Baby Billy abandoned at Christmas 1993. has grown into a special-needs adult (Macaulay Culkin), But nevertheless he has achieved the heterosexual nuclear family trajectory of job, house, wife, and kids.Actually, his wife has the job (a lawyer, "an educated breadwinner") but close enough.
Suddenly the doorbell rings: it's a card with a photo of Harmon on Santa's lap the day his Daddy abandoned him. Then his Daddy!
Baby Billy wants to fix things between them, so he can move forward with his new son. So it's not about Harmon, it's about you? Harmon says just don't make the same mistake again, and "Can I hit you with a closed fist as hard as I can in the face?" That's rather precise, but Baby Billy agrees, and gets walloped.
Jesse Smollett and K-Fed: Back stage before Eli's "welcome back" service, the siblings are in makeup and practicing their enunciation. They agree to make Daddy proud by showing how much they love each other. Judy says that she loves "Jesse Smollett" and "K-Fed," whereupon Kelvin makes a strange feminine gesture.
K-Fed is Kevin Federline, an actor, musician, and dj, known for his brief marriage to Britney Spears.
Jesse Smollett is Jussie Smollett (top photo and left), an actor who came out as gay in 2015. On the Fox drama Empire (2014), he played a gay musician trying to gain the approval of father, a hiphop mogul. Sounds more like Kelvin.
At least Jussie's character managed to kiss a dude. Kelvin won't get around to that for another umpteen episodes.
Back to the siblings: They're going to take a photo with the Millins, an impoverished family that the church is gifting $50,000. Judy wonders why they are bothering with such a small amount, "barely any money at all." It doesn't seem worthwhile. "Poor people love money," Kelvin explains.
Geez, just when you think these people have redeemed themselves...are they so lacking in empathy, or are they so out of touch that they don't realize that $50,000 is almost a full year's household income in South Carolina?
Wait -- where is Eli?
Eli and Junior reconcile: Eli skipped his welcome-back service to make a surprise visit to Junior's wrestling studio in Memphis. He couldn't have waited until after church?
Suspicious of his motives (naturally, after the run-in with Jesse), Junior comes armed with his own God Squad of four musclemen. But Eli has had enough: he doesn't want to fight.
"But you ignored and disrespected me," Junior says, forgetting for a moment that Eli also broke his heart, "And sent your asshole son to threaten me with violence, to rape me. What's up with that?"
Eli denies that he sent Jesse, and comes clean about his father murdering Junior's father. Junior is ok with it: "He was asshole, anyway."
They stand so close together that one expects them to kiss. But then Junior drops one last bombshell: he didn't send the Cycle Ninjas. Someone else is trying to kill Eli. But who?
Cut to the police station. Sheriff Brenda is on the toilet, when she hears an explosion. The lights go out, and the fire alarm goes on. Out in the hallway, cops are lying dead. The Cycle Ninjas have escaped! The end.
One episode left, and a lot of questions to answer.

i'm gonna come right out and say it: i loved chaotic. it was a real life real time glimpse into britney spears' life during 2004-05. it was i think on upn/presently cw and it chronicled her onyx hotel touring and a little bit after that, including the 'love' story between her and her second? husband Kevin federline and her pregnancy with sean preston. i believe it included the making of someday (i will understand). i believe the greatest hits/my prerogative coincided with this. i think i remember reading initially chaotic had a different tone in mind and was less about her romantic life, more about just generally her and her personal life. of course that remains intact, most people see it as embarrassing and stupid. (under a read more for the rest!)
i think i used to think that britney as a human at that time was going through a lot sure, the year before justin/britney's personal life was seen for the masses and he was in control of that narrative, she had just married her childhood friend jason alexander for 55 hours in las vegas that january, was promoting heavily at that for her studio album in the zone, and touring in europe for much of this documentary. she showed off the lovely room she had in a hotel, and sounded very humbled by the whole experience i recall her saying, "all this for one little person."
while self-aware, reflective and sometimes spiritual britney is a very complex individual. she surely shed the pop tart bubblegum image with the itz era and afterward. the direction i remember it giving/vibe was "britney let's loose from school girl days of bomt like its college!britney, bitch and of course what happens in college? having fun, friends, working probably, clubbing, meeting guys, parties, and doing that sort of thing." do i think it was appropriate for her age and for her sound? yes. was it mature risque and even a little naughty? you bet. did i eat that shit up, oh yes and i think even now in the zone will forever live in infamy. each track tells a story, paints a picture.
it's obvious she was heavily involved in its production, she even had favorite songs, contributed in the writing composition and credits in the liner notes, i also believe there was quite a bit of information she even helped direct or had a lot of input of what sorts of directions the videos such as "toxic" "me against the music" and "everytime" would look like. i remember seeing a short video between a segue as she performed everytime on this ABC special they did in fall of 2003, right around the time itz was released where she was playing a piano and playing the music for everytime.
for a long time it was rumored/speculated to be related as a rebuttal or even a response to justin timberlake's cry me a river which was released perhaps months before and word was getting out, her reputation was in a bad place and it was time for her to break out of the mold she was in musically and take it up a notch, push the envelope and do what she does best which is sing and perform being the entertainer but more 'her' way.
chaotic featured former alum to nsync/mmc castmate jc chazez who remained her friend at this time, her backup dancers and such, and felicia her longtime assistant and friend, who i once got to 'meet' in 2009 but that's another story.
(it was a brief hi, a smile she's just as sweet as i'd see her on tv, but i strongly think she knew i knew who she was haha without saying much and she was standing by a wall during the VIP backstage tour chatting with brett ('memba her?) I've seen britney in concerts almost 5 times, dwad in 2001, onyx in 2004, circus in 2009 and femme fatale in 2011 almost got to see a show back in 2017 i think maybe 2018 in my area when the tour came around for the last time but my BFF at the time took her stupid bf instead, unforgivable. our friendship has not been the same since. ugh.)
oh and my mom caught a glimpse of k-fed at the same concert backstage, weird and the boys sean preston and jayden were there seated around the stage with lynne, they were toddlers/little at the time. i saw them they were close to the center-right ring if i remember correctly from where i was standing. i did see her manager larry rudolph at femme fatale in a lobby i didn't get VIP that time, but i had pretty decent seats for it, but i didn't speak directly to him but i saw him in line getting a soda.)
all in all, i really enjoyed watching chaotic. best friend at the time and i bonded over britney's music, videos, crossroads, concert going experiences and such so oftentimes she comes to mind too. we used to love dressing up like in britney's style clothing/hair trends/make up and we would 'choreograph' dances to her music and we'd marathon things like that like she had chaotic on DVD so on rainy days and sleepovers we'd pop in the DVDs and watch 'em and be so interested.
a lot of people hate on it, britney herself is kind of embarrassed by it and i get that too, but a lot of it was a snapshot of what her life was like back then and how she was living, where she was and I'm sure if i watch it now, i'd laugh, cry and also be in awe like i was way back when.
a close second is for the record (2008-09) I'll talk about that another time someday. we also loved watching the HBO special from 2001, it holds a special place in my heart. total britney live, the MTV diaries, the interviews even the diane sawyer one like we had that shit down and tapes and tapes of trls, commercials, performances, tv, press things, documentaries i mean we were obsessed basically. a part of us still are. i have some things memorized, like most of crossroads i can at any given time recall some quote from the movie. i loved that britney did that stuff, even if it didn't 'work' out. I'm so proud of britney and so grateful to meet people through the britney fandoms, barmy, at concerts, and even online on fbs and tumblrs alike. for instance, @mollyhale and i have great conversations about britney spears and we have similar opinions and good thoughts regarding her and i love her so much. i cannot wait to read the memoir in full when it arrives this week. I'm also really excited to see crossroads in the movies with my bf and one of my best friends I've known a long time. britney has been a big part of my childhood, teen life, and overall existence.
i love her music, it makes me feel happy and good. i love finding a new obscure song by her, or fall in love with the songs that aren't so well known, or sing along when i hear her music on the radio, or come up on playlists. she is the top for me, and no one can speak ill of her i hate that i would go to literal 'war' so needless to say i have a lot to say about how she'd been wronged/underdog vibes and even by family/long-term boyfriends it sucked for us too the fans, because i know she didn't deserve that. i don't want to discuss the conservatorship time, but you can tell in femme fatale she was exhausted, and unhappy she didn't have the spark in her face or eyes, the songs were great and choreo but there wasn't that fire i love because she was tbh overmedicated. i hate infantilization and the narratives in regard to her mh. i do think that she has a lot trauma to work through from what I've seen in her posts, and her way of healing is speaking, and writing it out and I'm proud she's free to take those steps to reclaim herself and become independent and happy once again. it's gonna take time, nothing is overnight but she's doing fabulous. she's got an amazing legacy, so much talent, so much passion for her goals and endeavors, and she wants to burn that narrative too, she's spoken don't hat on several occasions at length on her Instagram posts as well as what I've seen in her book. she wants her fans to know who she is, where she stands because there's been a lot of buzzing over the years on that stuff and it's wonderful to feel validated and confirmed of a lot of things that weren't factually true.
i love the truth when it comes out. when i was little we'd play truth or dare, and i loved the truth but feared dare because i didn't want to be chicken but would much rather speak a truth even if it was personal, yes. truth > dare.
i'm not afraid of the truth. it will and has set her free. ✨💓

Priya’s Houseboys
Authors Note: There are a few references to violence scattered between the jokes — this is Priya we’re talking about — so consider yourselves warned.
Book: Bloodbound
Sergio the Houseboy stood in front of the dance studio mirror and took stock of his life. A bruise was already blossoming across his chin. Cold air stung his bare arms, and his fur vest stuck in matted clumps to his sweat-slicked skin.
Priya’s attack that morning had left an ache where her fingers had dug into his flesh, but if he was honest, what hurt most was his professional pride. He had studied dance at Julliard. How had he been reduced to this? Dressed like an extra from Conan the Barbarian while a beautiful sociopath screeched “No, the fist pump sequence starts on the fourth beat!” nearby.
Sergio turned his gaze to Priya Lacroix. No one knew what drove her into her choreographic fervours, but rumours swirled among the Houseboys. Octavio swore she’d screamed “You’re not good enough for them!” at Petrov before flinging him off a balcony. He was convinced the council somehow involved. But Sergio thought it was something deeper. Priya was trying to capture something sublime. And her failure was slowly driving her mad.
“How dare you make eye contact with me, Fabian. You’re supposed to be the shy one! And you! Marco! I need to feel more rebellion from you!” Priya’s eyes flicked wildly between the dancers. “Can someone tell me why no one is wearing their denim fedoras?” Sergio pushed off the ballet bar with a suddenly strengthened resolve. They didn’t need wardrobe gimmicks. They had his talent. He’d toured as a backup dancer for Kevin Federline, god damn it. He would help Priya capture her vision. All he needed was a chance to talk to her, alone.
Sergio waited until the household grew quiet, then made his way towards her private quarters. “Priya?” He knew she wasn’t sleeping—she never slept—but it was oddly silent within. “Hello?” The room was still. His eyes lit on a gap in what should have been a solid wall, and behind it, a sliver of light. Priya Lacroix had a hidden room.
Sergio’s feet moved forward of their own accord, driven by adrenaline and stupidity. On the other side of the wall, he could hear a soft voice singing, though he could only make out every other word. “Millennium—Everybody's talking about Jerusalem—” Sergio took a steadying breath and peered inside.
The space was dim, lit only by flickering candles. Hundreds of images covered the walls. As his eyes adjusted, he recognized posters from Bop, Tiger Beat, YM, and 16 Magazine. And staring back at him from the glossy pages were more boybands than he could name. Meet and Greet passes dangled from a nearby picture frame. Someone had written “I stan one curly-haired king” across Justin Timberlake’s torso in what looked like blood. It probably was.
Priya sat in the centre of her makeshift shrine, cradling an ancient CD Player. Her eyes were closed in benediction, the lyrics on her lips a prayer.
“Take a space ride with a cowboy, baby—” A strangled noise escaped Sergio’s lips and Priya’s eyes flashed open. In an instant, she was on him.
“All of this,” his throat was thick with fear and confusion, “the routines, the frosted tips, the pleather pants—it was because you’re—you’re—a teenybopper?”
“Oh Sergio,” Priya purred, a lethal glint in her eye. “I do wish you hadn’t seen this. But I have a reputation to maintain. An image to preserve. You understand, don’t you?” A predatory smile spread across Priya’s face. “Now be a good boy, and say “Bye Bye Bye.”

FLASHBack: Week 30 - Peanut Butter Jelly Time
On 13 November 2002, the seventh episode of the third season of the NBC comedy-drama show Ed, "The Wedding", featured Jennifer Bradley using the animation to try to cheer the titular Ed (Link should go to the 35:12 mark in that video).
On 20 November 2005, the sixteenth episode of the fourth season of Family Guy, "The Courtship of Stewie's Father", Brian the Dog tries to cheer Peter up by dressing up like the banana and singing the song. Later, in episode sixteen of season nine from 8 May 2011, "The Big Bang Theory", Stewie would use time travel to steal the moment from Brian.
In Fall of 2005, Ka-chew!, (the commericals division of animation studio Klasky Csupo), produced a public service announcement for Nickelodeon, Breakfast Time, modelled on Peanut Butter Jelly Time, but with a dancing plate and cutlery, and an original song sung by DJ Mighty Mi, Albert S and Balinda. This PSA would regularly air at 6am, marking the transition from the Nick-at-Night programming back to their more kid-oriented fare.
In January of 2006, Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline (savagely mock-interviewed here by Weird Al, the one artist to be featured on First-Class FLASHBack despite never having made a Flash Animation himself), was trying to promote his "Brazilian Ass-Shaker" of a new song, PopoZão. An enterprising YouTuber (whose name has been lost to time as the original video was taken down), discovered that KFed's head bobs worked even better as Peanut Butter Federline.
On 31 Janurary 2007, Sophat Peou attempted to get on American Idol wearing the banana suit and singing the song. He lasted in front of the judges for ten seconds before being dismissed as forgettable.
On 13 Descember 2009, the band Weezer released a music video for their song Pork and Beans. A celebration of dozens of internet memes, Peanut Butter Jelly time would end up referenced three times in the video. First the Banana appears as a logo on a t-shirt at the 50 second mark, then at 2:43, the Banana is revealed to be one of the masked ninjas attacking Afro Ninja, and finally at the 2:58 mark, the "IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!" caption from the original animation shows up.
In the World of Warcraft MMORPG, the dance for Male Tauren characters is based off of the Peanut Butter Jelly Time Banana, with some Noodle Dance and Raise the Roof thrown in for good measure. This same animation would be reused for the Draenei subrace, the Broken.
That's all for this week. Next week: Mid-Month Madness.

1998
Britney Spears, 16, catapults to the top of global pop charts with her debut single …Baby One More Time.

More than 20 years later, her debut album of the same name remains the best-selling album by a teenage solo artist.
Personal struggles burst into public view
February 2007
Spears is hounded by the press amid a tumultuous custody dispute with ex-husband Kevin Federline, allegations that she is an unfit mother and questions about her mental health.

Amid the tabloid frenzy, she is captured on camera shaving her head. A few days later, she smashes a paparazzo’s SUV repeatedly with an umbrella.
Spears’ father becomes her conservator
2008
After stints in hospital and rehab, Spears’ father Jamie petitions a Los Angeles court to place his daughter under a temporary conservatorship. He is charged with making decisions about her career, as well as her estate and financial affairs.
The conservatorship is extended indefinitely later that year.

Tussling over the conservatorship
2019-2020
Spears says she is taking a break from work because of her father’s health issues. Later in the year, Jamie Spears steps away as her conservator temporarily, citing his poor health.
Britney Spears indicates through her lawyers that she no longer wants her father to be involved in handling her career. A lawyer says Spears is “afraid of her father” and will not return to the stage as long as he retains control.
Framing Britney Spears film premieres
February 2021
A New York Times documentary about the pop star’s rise and fall, as well as about her treatment by the media, generates mass public interest in her conservatorship.

In explosive court testimony, Britney Spears alleges she was drugged, forced to perform against her will and prevented from having more children under the conservatorship.
She says she will not perform again while her father retains control over her career, and officially requests for him to be replaced as her conservator.
Father plans to stand down
August-September 2021
Jamie Spears says he is ready to step down as his daughter’s conservator “when the time is right” and pledges to participate in an “orderly transition”.
He later asks the court if the conservatorship itself should continue, saying his daughter should be given the chance to manage her own affairs.

Britney Spears Tells Court She No Longer Wants Dad As Conservator

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Britney Spears on Tuesday asked a court to keep her father from reasserting the broad control over her life and career that he has had for most of the past 12 years.
In documents filed by her court-appointed lawyer that give a rare public airing to the wishes of the 38-year-old pop superstar, she asked that her father not return to the role of conservator of her person, which gave him power over her major life decisions from 2008 until 2019, when he temporarily stepped aside, citing health problems.
“Britney is strongly opposed to James return as conservator of her person,” the document says.
James Spears has kept his separate role as conservator over his daughter’s finances. For the first 11 years of the conservatorship, he served as co-conservator with attorney Andrew M. Wallet, who resigned from the role early last year.
That briefly left James Spears with sole power over Britney Spears’ life, money and career, a situation she says she very much wants to avoid repeating.
An email seeking comment from James Spears’ attorney was not immediately returned.
Spears says she wants Jodi Montgomery, who has been serving as conservator of her person temporarily, to do so permanently, but she says that doesn’t mean she is waiving her right to seek an end to the entire arrangement.
The documents also reveal that Britney Spears has no plans to perform again anytime soon. She last performed live in October 2018, and early in 2019, canceled a planned Las Vegas residency.
The filing gave a rare glimpse at Britney Spears’ own wishes in the conservatorship that has had vast power over her for over a decade. She has almost never spoken publicly about the matter, and court hearings and documents in the case are cloaked in secrecy, though last year she addressed the court at her request, suggesting she was seeking changes.
In the papers, Britney Spears praises the conservatorship and its work overall, saying it “rescued her from a collapse, exploitation by predatory individuals and financial ruin” and that it made her “able to regain her position as a world class entertainer.”
The document was filed a day before a status hearing on the conservatorship, expected to be closed to the media and public.
Britney Spears’ attorney said that he expects James Spears will aggressively contest being marginalized, and said that Britney Spears has suggested they retain a lawyer with expertise in complex financial court fights.
The conservatorship, known in some states as a guardianship, gave James Spears power over his daughter’s career choices and much of her personal life, including her relationship with her teenage sons. Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline has custody of the boys, but she has frequent visits with them.

Biography
Brian Hugh Warner (born January 5, 1969), better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson, is a professional musician. He is the lead singer of the industrial metal band that bears the same name. His stage name is formed from the names Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson.
Brian Hugh Warner was born on January 5th 1969 in Canton, Ohio. He attended Heritage Christian School. After transferring to and later graduating from Canton’s GlenOak High School, Warner moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his family. While living in Fort Lauderdale, he studied journalism and theater at Broward Community College, and became the assistant entertainment editor of BCC’s student newspaper, the Observer.
Romance
Warner’s first serious relationship was with Melissa "Missi" Romero. As explained in his autobiography, during the production of "Antichrist Superstar," Missi became pregnant with Warner’s child, but had an abortion during her second trimester. He has also been linked to Traci Lords and Jenna Jameson. Jameson wrote about her sexual encounter with Manson in her autobiography, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale in which she noted him as being "massively endowed". Manson was engaged to Rose McGowan, but their relationship ended around the time he became involved with burlesque dancer and fetish model model Dita Von Teese. Manson photographed Von Teese for the December 2002 issue of Playboy. Manson and Von Teese wed in December 2005 in the Irish home of friend Gottfried Helnwein. Von Teese filed for divorce as of December 2006. The divorce came through in January 2007. In April of 2007, Marilyn Manson’s girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, admitted that they were actually a couple.
Marriage
Manson and Dita Von Teese started dating on Manson’s 32nd birthday, and Manson proposed three years later on March 22, 2004. On December 3, 2005 (court documents say November 28), the couple was married in a non-denominational ceremony at Gurteen Castle in Kilsheelan, County Tipperary, Ireland, the home of Gottfried Helnwein. The wedding was officiated by surrealist film director and comic book writer Alejandro Jodorowsky. Dita Von Teese wore a royal purple silk taffeta gown by Vivienne Westwood, complete with train and petticoats worn over a Mr. Pearl couture corset, topped off by a tricorne hat by Stephen Jones, while Manson wore a John Galliano black silk taffeta tuxedo with velvet trim and a hat also crafted by Stephen Jones. They reportedly exchanged vows in front of approximately 60 guests, including burlesque dancer Catherine Delish, Lisa Marie Presley, Eric Szmanda, David Lynch, Jessicka and Christian Hejnal, and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. Vogue magazine ran a multiple-page feature on the wedding in its February 2006 issue. Just before his own wedding, Manson criticized Britney Spears’ wedding to Kevin Federline, in which they celebrated by wearing personalized tracksuits: "If you’re going to do something like getting married, it should have a sense of celebration to it. It should be grand and not in tracksuits!"
As of January 30, 2007 Manson and Dita Von Teese reportedly split after her filing for divorce due to "irreconcilable differences" according to Von Teese. ET.com along with People Magazine has claimed that Manson was having an extramarital affair with actress Evan Rachel Wood, which may or may not be the true cause of the split. Manson’s alcohol abuse and distant behaviour have also been cited as cause for the split. It has also been claimed that Manson was not aware of Von Teese’s filing for divorce and moving out of their home at the time that the story was published, conceivably due to his reported stay in Paris, France. Von Teese reportedly took their two cats and two dachshunds, Greta and Eva, with her when she left. Manson fought for custody of the two cats, but only received one of them.
Evan Rachel Wood attended the grand opening of Manson’s new Celebritarian Corporation Gallery of Fine Art and among the most notable artworks were two portraits of Evan. She will also co-star in his upcoming horror film Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll.
In music
Jessicka of the band Jack Off Jill was an early friend of Manson’s, her band opened most of his South Florida shows. He not only produced most of the band’s early recordings but also played guitar on the song "My Cat" and helped name the band. Manson later wrote the liner notes for the band’s album Humid Teenage Mediocrity, a collection of early Jack Off Jill recordings.
In early 1993, after being instructed by his new label, Interscope Records, not to play any local shows, Manson formed Mrs. Scabtree. Mrs. Scabtree was a side project between he and newly hired Jeordie White. Manson played drums, while White (dressed as a black woman) shared vocal duties with then girlfriend Jessicka from Jack Off Jill who wore a blonde wig. Mrs. Scabtree only played two shows in South Florida.
Manson has helped or provided full scores for several major motion pictures, although several of his pieces have been cut, and his name dropped from the credits. Some of his more notable soundtrack score contributions include The Matrix, From Hell and Resident Evil.
Manson appeared as a guest on rapper DMX’s album Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood for the track "The Omen", produced by Swizz Beats, and has performed (with the rest of the band) on stage with Eminem as background music in the song "The Way I Am".
Manson sang vocals on "Break You Down" off of the Washington, DC-based industrial rock band gODHEAD’s 2000 Years of Human Error album. This album is distinguished for being the only one released on Manson’s vanity label Posthuman Records.
In film and television
Manson made a cameo appearance as a doctor in the Murderdolls’ music video "Dead in Hollywood", and also appears in the Nine Inch Nails music video "Starfuckers, Inc.", as well as "Gave Up", and Eminem’s "The Way I Am" music video.
His first appearance in a film was in the role of a pornographic actor in David Lynch’s Lost Highway, in 1997. He also had a minor role in former love interest Rose McGowan’s 1998 film Jawbreaker and a supporting role in 2003’s Party Monster, which is based on the events leading up to and the murder of Angel Melendez by the infamous Michael Alig of club kid fame, where Manson portrayed a psychotic drag queen named Christina . Manson made a cameo appearance in The Hire: Beat the Devil, a short film in the BMW films series (starring Clive Owen as the Driver), which featured James Brown as himself, and Gary Oldman as Satan. His most talked-about film cameo was in the Michael Moore political documentary Bowling for Columbine discussing the motivations of the perpetrators and allegations that his music was somehow a factor. He played himself, in animated form, on an episode of the television series Clone High, in which he sang a song about nutrition and the food pyramid. He is featured prominently throughout Not Another Teen Movie, and covered the song "Tainted Love" for its soundtrack.
His music is frequently featured on the show C.S.I.. The character on the show, Greg Sanders, is a big fan of Manson and the actor who plays him, Eric Szmanda, is a personal friend of Manson’s.
Manson was featured in the 2004 film The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, and was set to appear in Abelcain, directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky, and Living Neon Dreams in 2005, although both of these projects are still unreleased as of 2007. He will also be seen as a bartender in an upcoming vampire movie starring Lucy Liu called Rise and possibly has pending roles in Abelcain, RISE and other projects.
Manson has produced 23 music videos, most of which have gone beyond the scope of a normal performance video and been well received by critics for their imagery and direction. Manson’s three most recent released videos – Personal Jesus, (s)AINT and Heart-Shaped Glasses – were voluntarily funded with his own money (to a sum of $1,500,000) and largely not that of the record company. Manson stated in June 2006 that he saw himself "as more a student of film than of music".
In July 2005, Manson told Rolling Stone that he was shifting his focus from music to filmmaking – "I just don’t think the world is worth putting music into right now. I no longer want to make art that other people–particularly record companies–are turning into a product. I just want to make art."
By 2006 Manson was working on his directorial debut, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, but has since put the project off until November 2007 to focus on recording Marilyn Manson’s sixth studio album, Eat Me, Drink Me, followed by a world tour. The film is said to feature special effects using a magician rather than computer-generated imagery.
In graphic art
From the beginning Manson has been a recreational painter, the oldest of his surviving pieces dating back to 1995-1996, but it was after his 1998 Grey period that Manson began his career as a watercolour painter. In 1999 he made five-minute concept pieces and sold them to drug dealers with their knowledge that they would accumulate in value over time. Gradually Manson became more drawn to watercolors as an art form in itself, and instead of trading them, kept them and continued to paint at a proficient rate.
This manic creativity resulted in an exhibit for his art, The Golden Age of Grotesque, held at the Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions Centre on between September 13 and 14, 2002. The reaction to his paintings was largely positive with one critic comparing them to Egon Schele’s pieces and describing them as heartfelt and sincerely painted, and Art in America went as far as to liken them to the works of a " psychiatric patient given materials to use as therapy ". Others however saw less merit in the works stating that the value was in the celebrity.
Two years later almost to the day, during September 14 and 15, 2004, Manson held his second exhibit on the first night in Paris and the second in Berlin, Trismegistus, which was also the title of the center piece of the exhibit – a large three headed Christ painted onto an antique wood panel. Again the reception to the works could be described as mixed but was largely in favour of the artist.
Manson opened his own an art gallery, The Celebritarian Corporation Gallery of Fine Art, on October 31, 2006 in Los Angeles for which his third exhibition (by invitation or appointment only after the opening night) was the inaugural show. From April 2 until April 17, 2007 Manson’s recent works were be on show at the Space 39 Modern & Contemporary in Florida.
A coffee table art book is in the works, initially titled The Death of Art. The last given title was Quintif. It will be published by the makers of Flaunt magazine.
40 pieces from this show were ported to the Gallery Brigitte Schenk in Cologne, Germany to be publicly exhibited from June 28 until July 28, 2007. After this they will return to the Space39 Modern & Contemporary Gallery thus leaving Manson’s own gallery in Los Angeles temporarily without his own work until 2008.
The price of Manson’s works has been a somewhat controversial point for fans and critics alike, with most fans realistically unable to afford the paintings save for fine art editions and lithographs. Manson’s prices though are realistic and reasonable considering the long-term value at a time when prices for contemporary art have never been higher.
During his European tour 2007 Manson has exhibited his paintings in Germany, Russia and Switzerland.
In other areas
Manson provided the voice of the alien Edgar in the 2005 first-person shooter video game Area 51, which also featured David Duchovny. Marilyn Manson also appears (as himself) as a playable character in the video game Celebrity Deathmatch. Allegedly, the artist posed nude for photos prior to his rise to fame. The pictures appeared in the March 1999 issue of Honcho.
Professional fallouts
Trent Reznor
One of Manson’s high-profile relationships, the defunct friendship with Trent Reznor, has been marked with mutual bitterness and perhaps vendetta. This started in the mid-90s, when Manson was due to make a track that would appear on the soundtrack to David Lynch’s Lost Highway, but instead Reznor was the one who wrote a song, "The Perfect Drug", for the film. In 1999, it seemed the two artists had patched their differences, as Manson made an appearance in the video for the Nine Inch Nails song "Starfuckers, Inc."
In 2004, Reznor was asked whether he had plans to do any covers; he sarcastically replied, "I was really hoping to do something unique and pertinent – like do an exact copy of "Personal Jesus" – but it was already taken."
In a 2005 interview, Manson said Reznor’s Nothing Records had lost the master recordings of Manson’s first three albums. He implied it was Reznor’s intention, "Now that Nothing Records doesn’t exist, I think there’s only one of two people responsible for that. Out of those two people, there’s only one that really has an opinion of me that is voiced very often."
Twiggy Ramirez
In May 2002 Twiggy Ramirez left the band, citing differences in perspective on the future of the band. He went on to play bass for A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails. During this time, Manson claimed in interviews that he and Ramirez were still close friends, while Ramirez maintained that he rarely spoke to Manson. In an interview in February of 2006 Twiggy stated he was willing to record an album with Marilyn Manson if the right conditions were met. In Autumn 2006, Manson and Ramirez were photographed together at numerous parties in Los Angeles, in amicable poses.
In January 2008 it was announced that Ramirez had reunited with the band as live bassist for the last leg of the Rape of the World tour as well as co-writer of the band’s seventh studio album. In an interview with The Heirophant on January 11, 2008, Manson revealed that the reconciliation with Ramirez was not as abrupt as it initially seemed, and that the two had been occasionally communicating with each other since speaking at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California prior to the Winter European leg of the Rape of the World tour.
John 5
John 5’s reasons for leaving Marilyn Manson were cited as being mutual, despite the mysterious nature of his sudden firing by Manson’s manager in 2004.
John was quoted at the time as saying about the incident, "I don’t know. . . I was nothing but nice to him," he continued. "I never screwed up onstage — well not really badly — and I did everything I could to get along with him. Maybe, just maybe, it had something to do with the fact that I don’t drink or do drugs, and he’s not like that at all. Maybe he held that against me. I don’t know. He never said." John 5 was notorious among fans as being drug and alcohol free.
Before the incident, Manson had assaulted John on stage, notably, Manson kicked John in the face during a televised performance, leading to a brief confrontation in front of a packed and roaring audience (available on YouTube). This was during the intro to "The Beautiful People", when played at the Rock AM Ring 2003.
Also, during the tour John maintains that Manson spoke about matters other than business only once, "It was on my birthday, and he turned to me and said, "Happy birthday, faggot" — then walked away."
Despite this, John maintains he respects Manson, citing his skilled production style and his love for the band’s music. John was already a fan of the band before joining in 1998. In response to a question regarding the reason for the split with Manson, John 5 was quoted by Vintage Guitar Magazine as saying, "(laughs) At the end of the last tour, I decided I really wanted to do this solo thing and that I had to devote all my time to it. The split with Manson was totally amicable. It wasn’t one of those big breakups. We’re friends. I wish there was some good dirt, but there’s not (laughs)!"
In an interview prior to the January 19, 2008 performance in Orlando, Florida, Marilyn Manson revealed that John 5 would make a guest appearance during the show, stating: "I’ll have [John] come on stage and play songs with us this first show. It would practically be the Holy Wood lineup." This guest appearance ultimately did not take place, however.
Madonna Wayne Gacy
Before leaving the band nothing was heard of Madonna Wayne Gacy for over a year. In an exclusive conference conducted by Marilyn Manson in April 2007, he revealed the upcoming album Eat Me, Drink Me was recorded in collaboration between himself and Tim Skold. Essentially this meant Gacy did not partake in the album, but not ruling out the possibility of him performing as live keyboardist on the upcoming tour. Later, Manson revealed that Chris Vrenna (who previously drummed for the band during Ginger Fish’s hiatus in 2004) would be performing as live keyboardist on the tour, in Gacy’s place.
On August 2, 2007, Gacy filed a lawsuit against Marilyn Manson seeking a back pay of $20 million dollars. Gacy claimed Manson has been using the band’s money for personal interests, among which are his collection of Nazi paraphernalia, his drug addictions, his wedding with Dita Von Teese and the production of Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll.
On December 20, 2007, Manson countersued Gacy. As a reaction to the lawsuit Gacy filed against Manson in August, Manson claims, "keyboardist Stephen Bier did not carry out obligations to take part in master recordings [of Eat Me, Drink Me], concerts [of the Rape of the World tour] and the selling of band merchandise," according to this report which states that Manson is seeking unspecified general and special damages.
Insight
Even though he is known mostly for his music, which some refer to as crude and grotesque, Manson is a very intelligent and insightful man. In interviews he is always well spoken and is calm to the people who challenge him. Most people see his music as delivering the wrong message, but Manson states that his message was to be creative.
Causes
•In 2002, Manson worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to make the wish of a boy with a life-threatening disease come true. 16-year-old Andrew Baines from Tennessee had a wish to sing back-up vocals for a "big" band; Manson jumped on the task and took Baines under his wing to make his dream come true. Manson invited Baines to the studio on August 27, 2002, where he let Baines perform backing vocals for the then-upcoming album, The Golden Age of Grotesque. "Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with Andrew, who reminded me the things I create are only made complete by those who enjoy them. I just want to simply say, ‘thank you’ to Andrew for sharing such an important wish with me," Manson said, according MarilynManson.com.
•In 2005, Manson donated a signed collector’s edition mask to Music for Relief to help victims of the 2004’s Boxing Day Tsunami; this auction raised $155.
•In January 2006, Manson contributed a hand-painted guitar from the Six-String Masterpieces – The Dimebag Darrell Art Tribute to the Little Kids Rock auction. For every $100 raised by the product, Little Kids Rock would provide one low-income child with an instrument and lessons – Manson’s guitar raised $6,250.
•In 2006, Manson became a benefactor of Project Nightlight, an LA area foundation that uses short films, music, and apparel to grab teenagers attention and inspire them to speak out against sexual and physical abuse. Manson afforded Project Nightlight a stand at the opening of his art gallery, and in April 2007 gave the charity a print of his painting Eve of Destruction and a framed collector’s edition mask.
Legal history
Marilyn Manson was first arrested in Florida on December 27, 1994 after a concert at Jacksonville’s Club 5 for "violating the adult entertainment code." Manson was detained for 16 hours before been released without charge. Bizarrely police believed Manson had performed oral sex on stage with a man (when in fact it was Jack Off Jill vocalist Jessicka wearing a fake penis) and thrown either his or the man’s penis into the crowd. On February 5, 2001 in Marino, Italy Manson suffered what is to date his only other post-concert arrest when he was accused of blasphemy having worn the outfit of a cardinal on stage during the song "Valentine’s Day". Soon after the detention it was ascertained that Manson had not committed a crime and it appeared the legal troubles were over until the next day when Manson was arrested in Bologne on charges of public indecency relating to a 1999 show where it was alleged Manson had exposed his penis. Manson was released and the charges dropped, notably the arrests came a week after two teenagers brutally murdered an Italian nun which some less reputable sections of the Italian press blamed on Manson’s music.
Sexual misconduct
In a civil battery suit, David Diaz, a security officer from a concert in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 27, 2000, sued for $75,000 in a Minneapolis federal court. After two days deliberation the jury decided that Manson’s alleged molestation had been part of the show and that he had not overstepped his boundaries as an artist, ruling in favor of Manson and against Diaz.
Manson was charged with "sexual misconduct" on August 16, 2001 after Joshua Keasler filed a complaint that as he was providing security for a July 30 concert Manson had allegedly spat on his head, wrapped his legs around him and began to gyrate his penis along his neck.
Oakland County prosecutor David Gorcyca said that "It was offensive, crude and rude. This was not something that was orchestrated or choreographed as part of the act. The security guard was an unknowing and unwilling participant and, ironically, while he was there for protection… was sexually assaulted." The charge, punishable with up to two years imprisonment, was accompanied with a charge of disorderly conduct. The complaint came with an arrest warrant but Manson thwarted this by posting a $25,000 personal bond. In a one-day December 28, 2001 trial the presiding Judge dismissed the charge of "sexual misconduct" as Manson had in his view "gained no sexual gratification from the act." Manson pleaded "no contest" to the outstanding lesser charge, which carried only up to three months imprisonment, and was ordered to pay $4,000 in fines. After the trial Keasler pursued a civil lawsuit against Manson that was dropped when the two settled out of court in February 2004.
Lawsuits
•In 1997, former Marilyn Manson guitarist Scott Mitchell Putesky filed a lawsuit against Manson seeking unpaid royalties for his contributions to the band’s output up to that period, including the band’s recently released second studio album Antichrist Superstar. The case was concluded in 1998, although the outcome was confidential.
•On January 4, 1999, SPIN editor Craig Marks filed an assault and battery lawsuit against Manson in the New York Supreme Court. Marks alleged that Manson, upset at not making the cover of SPIN, the lawsuit specifically alleged Manson had yelled "I can kill you, I can kill your family, I can kill everyone you know!" before two of Manson’s bodyguards were said to have charged him and held him against the wall and threw him to the floor after which it was alleged Manson had said, "That’s what you get when you disrespect me." The case was dropped when, weeks later, Marks was fired from SPIN over financial irregularities.
•On April 2, 2002, Maria St. John filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court accusing Manson of providing her adult daughter, Jennifer Syme, with cocaine and allowing her to drive while under the influence. The case was settled out of court.
•On August 2, 2007, former Marilyn Manson keyboardist Stephen Bier filed a breech of contract lawsuit against Marilyn Manson seeking $20,000,000 in damages. Bier claimed Manson has used the band’s money for personal interests, among which are his collection of Nazi paraphernalia, addictions to cocaine and Valium, his $300,000 wedding with and $150,000 engagement ring given to Dita Von Teese and the production of Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll as well as Lewis Carroll memorabilia, human skeletons and taxidermy. Manson’s lawyers responded in January 2008 with a 101-page rebuttal of the claims, the case will be tried by jury in November 2008 in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Trivia
•All Manson’s tattoos were done at Tattoos By Lou in Miami, Florida over a four-year span starting in 1991, until a new tattoo emerged in early-2007.
•In the 1990s, an Internet rumor spread stating Josh Saviano (who played Paul Pfeiffer in 1980s drama The Wonder Years) grew up to become Marilyn Manson. As of 2007, Josh Saviano is a licensed attorney in New York. He has, however, commented on the rumor, and thinks it is neat people believe him to be in a "goth band".
•Contrary to what some may deem "common knowledge", Manson has not had any ribs removed for the purpose of autofellatio. "If I really got my ribs removed," he said in the The Long Hard Road out of Hell autobiography, "I would have been busy sucking my own dick on The Wonder Years instead of chasing Winnie Cooper."
•In an E! interview, Manson revealed that he owns a Nintendo DS. "My friend got me this little Japanese lawyer game; it’s fucking amazing," he said in reference to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. He also mentioned that he was "pretty good at Mario Kart".
•In an interview with MTV in 2002 Manson revealed that for most of his paintings he uses a children’s Alice in Wonderland tin. He also uses a 1920’s mortician paint kit originally used for retouching cadavers.
•Manson has Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, an erratic, rapid heartbeat.
•Manson, who cites David Bowie as being his biggest influence, claims his favorite songs by him are "Quicksand", "Ashes to Ashes", and "We Are the Dead". He even proposed to his ex-wife, Dita Von Teese, during a David Bowie concert (at the time Bowie was performing "Be My Wife") .
•Pets Manson has had in his life include the childhood dog, an Alaskan malamute named Aleusha, an orange tabby named O.J. which he found on the steps of Christian school, four Devon Rex cats named Aleister, Edgar, Herman, and Lily, and two dachshunds named Greta and Eva. After the divorce of Manson and ex-wife Dita Von Teese, Von Teese won the custody of both dachshunds and Aleister. For Manson’s 39th birthday on January 5th, 2008, girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood gave him a new cat, Charlie (Manson), as a birthday gift.
•When asked in 2007 by Rolling Stone what his current favorite playlist was, Manson chose among Radiohead’s "Exit Music (For a Film)", Amy Winehouse’s "Rehab" and David Bowie’s classic "We Are the Dead".

'The View' Dropped Confetti to Celebrate Britney Spears Divorcing Kevin Federline
Back in 2006, 'The View' celebrated Britney Spears leaving Kevin Federline in the most over-the-top way: by dropping confetti on its studio audience. from Glamour https://www.glamour.com/story/how-the-view-celebrated-britney-spears-divorce-kevin-federline

Quote
In the papers, Britney Spears praises the conservatorship and its work overall, saying it “rescued her from a collapse, exploitation by predatory individuals and financial ruin” and that it made her “able to regain her position as a world class entertainer.” The document was filed a day before a status hearing on the conservatorship, expected to be closed to the media and public. Follow AP Entertainment Reporter Andrew Dalton on Twitter: https://twitter.com/andyjamesdalton. Considering all the things about Kevin Federline that seem to rub people the wrong way -- the cornrows, the wife-beaters, -- it's a miracle that no real rappers have come forth to put him in his place. "He's taken enough flack for the hair and the wife-beaters in the gossip rags, we felt like the East Coast needed to holler back at such slothlike behavior".
L'uomo April 2005: Brilliant hazelnut carat on both lobes, two blue dice tattooed on the right forearm, pledge of love that divides, according to a trend of vogue today in Hollywood, with her better half - she has the same design, but in pink, on the left wrist - short hair with a vaguely Roman emperor cut, suading voice, way of doing very laid back. Ladies and gentlemen, here you are Kevin Federline from Fresno, California, the young man who last September in Los Angeles with a surprise wedding put the ring on the ring finger of the pop diva Britney Spears just the one who, a handful of months earlier, in Las Vegas, had convolated at the right wedding with a friend of infant- aunt, and after 55 hours, disposed of the first moments of euphoria, he had decided to cancel everything, goodbye and thank you. This time, however, the situation seems quite serious. 'I found my prince charming after kissing a lot of toads,' chirped the star who in the past did not disdain - small transgression for advertising purposes - to give Madonna a kiss on the lips too. The groom, a past of heartthrob, but at the bottom of the soul an incurable romantic, confesses to me that he was moved several times during the ceremony. In short, for the joy of them and the fans, a more idyllic picture of this should be invented- lo and, for all those who believe in fairy tales, this one has dav- true the cards in order. Now, who is she, queen of record classes, idol of teen-agers, busty physicist with a few extra pounds every now and then, a hair colour that lately changes as easily as one changes the T-shirt, it is soon said. Who is him is less obvious. Of course, for less than a year his face has become very easily recognisable - first thanks to the paparaz. zate published by gossip magazines, then thanks to the services for glossy magazines - but his biography is reduced to the os- so. Profession dancer, you read practically dappertut- to. After that, the emptiness. We try to fill it with an in- tervista-flash, after the shooting with Steven Klein of which Kevin was thrilled. 'Oh, man,' he tells me with a sigh, 'when I saw the polaroids I was speechless. Steven wanted me with a completely different look from those with which they had previously photographed me: he didn't make me make the usual jumps in front of the mac- china, he bet on a masculine, intense feeling. I was also struck by his artistic sensitivity, which is really very strong.' And he adds right away, just to put the dots- ni on the i: "What I want is to be myself, to be known for who I am, as a person. And not to be labelled, as the case may be, as a dancer, or musician or actor, or even worse like Britney's husband.' To see, the anxiety of normality to which the boy aspires, reflects a life that, until recently, had not in the least contemplated chases of shatterbugs and intrusions into the private sector. Already the trip from Fresno, an anonymous city in California, to Los Angeles, a megacities of dreams and ambitions, seemed like a milestone. 'I've always loved music, it's a part of me,' he says. "Especially hip hop, and rap, but also alternative rock, jazz, hou- se. That's why I started dancing. At 13 years old I also attended a studio, but after a year I gave up. I preferred to perform with some of my friends on the street, even if ours were not real performances: we only did it for ourselves, for fun. Then, I ended up in a non-profit organisation where I taught dance to children, and from there with Jimmy Federico, one of the people closest to me, we decided to travel to L.A. He had been enlisted for a video of Christina Aguilera, I decided to take classes and attend some clubs.' The second move turned out to be a winner and, according to a script not new to the show-biz planet, Kevin was noticed by an agent who put him under contract. He became a backup dancer, one of the pre- stants and tightrope walkers who during the pyroet concerts on stage, and toured with Justin Timberlake, with Pink, Usher and Destiny's Child. They complete his cuRiculum an appearance in Michael Jackson's video "You Rock My World", and a little part, always as a bal- lerino in "You Got Served", a film that no one remembers with particular emotion. After that Britney profiled herself at the o- rizzonte and, ça va sans dire, life was never the same again. "I met her professionally in 2000: I used to work with LFO, the band that opened her tour. Then I couldn't say I knew her: I had seen her a few times through the People of our tour, but we hadn't gone beyond a "hello, how are you?". Then, a long time later, what happened happened.' In the sense that?, I insist, pretending not to understand. 'It was a Monday night,' he explains with unexpected precision, 'and we were at Joseph's, a club of L.A. Do you know when you click with a person, almost by magic? Here, that's what happened to us. I state that I've never been a fan of hers: Britney struck me for what she has inside her. It's just gorgeous, adorable. In none of my relationships have I ever had someone so special.' Well, very well, but not negligible detail, When last year the two swore eternal love to each other. Kevin lived with Shar Jackson, an actress with whom he had a little girl - who is now almost three years old - and from whom he was expecting a boy, born last July, just a month after the announcement of their engagement. He on the ar- gomento glissa in a big size: "With Shar I have a wonderful relationship. And with the children everything is ok: they are a week with her and one with me and Britney.' End of the story. The one with the capital S, on the other hand, was crowned in record time in September, with a ceremony held secret- but until the end. That is: the fateful date had been set for October 16, but the two pigeons beat everyone on time three weeks earlier. Change of plans and location - instead of the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara, a private house in Studio City - only about thirty guests, parents- you tight and friends of the heart who thought of going to a Engagement Party. "No one, He had the slightest suspicion, so they were really speechless," confrimed Kevin. 'I also remember that the cats, during the day, kept asking me what I had, because I was agitated.' After a honeymoon on Turtle Island, Fiji – 'ten days of enchantment' – the two have resumed a life he describes as 'normal'. 'When I don't work, we do what the rest of the people do: we go to the movies, we spend a lot of time with my children, we organise barbeques, we go out to dinner.' On the business front, on the other hand, there are several projects on the horizon. "I'm looking at a number of opportunities but out of due dilligence, I don't want to talk about it. However, I have to confess that I would love to record a record: I've written things in the past, it's my dream in the drawer. In the immediate future there is instead something in tandem with Britney," he reveals. 'We are studying a line of clothing for both women and men. I would like a mix of casual, sporty and even more refined garments. The launch is scheduled, if all goes well, by the end of 2005.' In short, the fashion-tain-ment world will soon have new adepts. Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé and P. Diddy are all warned.

Sure, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s engagement came as quite the shocker to, well, everyone, but they weren’t the first ones to get engaged so quickly after just weeks of dating. In case you’ve forgotten, let us remind you of five relationships that went from zero to a hundred real quick. To no one’s surprise, first on our list is Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom. Their engagement pretty much happened within a matter of days. Now we obviously don’t know the exact dates, but Khlo and Lamar met, started dating, quickly got engaged and then had one hell of a wedding – that was documented on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, obviously – about a month after they had just met. Now, Khloe wasn’t the first Kardashian to get jump into an engagement so soon after dating. Her baby brother Rob was in the same boat when he proposed to Blac Chyna with a giant ring after four months of dating. It’s still a quick engagement since Rob popped the question after a few months of dating, but it certainly doesn’t top Khlomar’s super short engagement. Joining the Kardashians on this list is none other than Britney Spears. Brit Brit and Kevin Federline’s romance reportedly started in April of 2004 when they were spotted hanging out in LA and then near the end of June the two confirmed their engagement. Katy Perry and Russell Brand also join the quick engagement club. Just a few months after confirming their relationship to the public, Katy and Russell made an even bigger public announcement and revealed they were engaged to be married! Talk about a quick moving relationship. And last but not least, we have Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon who, after six weeks of dating, got engaged and then married. I take back what I said earlier about Katy and Russell’s relationship being quick moving because MC and Nick did it way faster. Which quickie engagement surprised you the most?! Let me know all your thoughts in the comment section below. When you’re done with that, click right over here to find out how Ariana Grande seemingly confirmed her engagement on Twitter.
