Never forgetting that Kevyn Tan had a son. One who loved him and played soccer- and who met Natalie, in what would become one of last times he ever saw his father.

Like. Your dad shows up with a strange woman, right before he's gunned down and "outed" as a dirty cop. He dies at a wellness retreat, a cult, ran by another strange woman. Both women are yellowjackets, and you're young but you're not stupid, and you can google everything you didn't want to know. Yeah no I'd be a conspiracy theorist at best and a vigilante at worse. Bless this kids therapy bills 🙏

Rambles below (CONTAINS S3 SPOILERS)

As you can see, I've separated by timelines and also by season because sadly Yellowjackets has succumbed to Seasonal Rot :-( I think part of why Jackieshauna and Lottielee have held up is that it's hard to ruin two dead characters

GOD-TIER: Hardly needs explaining but I loved the portrayal of these ships. Jackieshauna's chemistry was electric, Taishauna were a really touching duo, and Taivan were solid and had an interesting conflict.

Great: These were ships I also love but maybe didn't have as much material. My biggest issue with Taimone is probably the ending of S1 warning us that Tai's family would no longer play a big role for her (and later, her political career). Very sad for Tai fans.

Good: For me, the chemistry between Taishauna as teens was more platonic, whereas it's fairly ambiguous as adults. I liked adult Taivan's chemistry but can't really look past the writing (especially in regards to Simone and Sammy) to get us there. Shaunadam did what they needed to do.

Okay: Lottieshauna and Marijackie have an interesting chemistry, but I think only fanon offers a Lottieshauna I'd actually root for - like, I'm really unsure how I'd see them become canon in... well, canon - and I'm more of a one-sided Marijackie truther.

Meh: This is an assortment of ships where 1) I felt a lack of chemistry, 2) there was too little material to get me invested, or 3) I liked the chemistry but felt the writing was subpar. Reasons like that.

For the plot: this is just how everything is about jackieshauna tbh. You're either a Jackie-proxy for Shauna or a form of comphet for Jackie. Now that I think about it, Jeffshauna should be in dislike. Oops.

Dislike: So many ships just got dust here. I've never fucked with Lottienat tbh. Not every pair of foils need to be shipped, and the popularity of them is probably why I couldn't put them in "meh". Kevnat lack chemistry, fanon Jackielot > canon Jackielot, and I see Misty (and Kristen) as straight too much for Kristy or Mistyjackie.

BOO: Yeah... Lottienat isn't here because I don't see them having romantic feelings as detrimental enough to their dynamic/writing to hate it. The same cannot be said for the other ships here. Dishonourable shout-out to Mister, because I hate Walter with a type of all-encompassing emptiness.

Title: Rain

Rain; to some, it was sacred and worshipped- treated like a god, no other. It's a sign of happiness, or sadness. Even death. Some say it's bad luck if it rains on your Wedding Day, especially if lightning strikes to the Earth below. Or good luck by a tradition raindance of those who suffer from drought, waiting for the upcoming blessed tears of water to fall from the sky and cleanse their bodies with new hope. If no rain comes, there is no hope. All is lost from that point.

He had no reason, no reason at all. But he lied to himself-- there was a reason. Nat was his reason. Breathing stayed steady as it inhaled and exhaled from his nose, closing lids over eyes and listened to only the sound of the droplets connect with the floor's concrete road. His heartbeat seemed irregular but all in all, it felt surreal. Like everything right now wasn't even happening. The cold water felt weird, however. Each and everyone seemed to hold a different emotion; some sad, some happy, a little jealousy and anger, even some fear-- and they all belonged to him.

He didn't want to remember the cul-de-sac like this. He didn't want to remember Nat like this. Or his best friends or anyone else. But he had another chance to visit, even if it wasn't for long. Kevin couldn't even tell Nat a 'hello' nor even a 'goodbye'. And, it sucked. Who knows how long it's been since the two last parted in a angry tirade, sadly. The redhead said something wrong and Nat was far from in the mood to deal with the once High School Football Captain.

Once; that was the keyword.

Time seem to last forever just standing there, listening to his own heartbeat and thoughts as the endless seconds pass, feeling like eternity.

"Kevin," his light green hues opened at a new voice he was getting used to, turning his head in the direction as the rain seem to lift, just a little but other than that, the new accomplice stole the teenager's attention almost immediately, "it's time to go." Kevin held his breath, face scrunching up the same. For once in his life, he didn't want to leave the suburbs because he knew it was forever. The only time he could visit here again was in his dreams.

Looking back at the housing, he nonchalantly nodded his head before turning his head to the other, walking towards him till he met their side, asking one final question. "Are you sure I can't speak to Nat one last time?" The other looked weary or unsure; this wasn't exactly how things worked when someone wasn't all here anymore. For someone that's crossed the otherside of life. Like the metaphor goes, Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side. The other side was death.

"One day soon you two will meet again, until that time comes, you can watch over him along with us in the safety of heaven."

Kevin's never cried in his life-- not in front of anyone at least and right then and there in the still pouring rain area, tears fell down his cheeks and he frantically tried to rub them away, the other liquids already doing the job. He couldn't accept this but that was the sad thing about reality-- unlike relationships, you only get one chance. And the one chance was taken from him, right seconds before he pushed his best friend out of the one of an oncoming car.

Love; everyone does crazy things when they're in love.

He couldn't find the words to say, so he said nothing and easily, it seemed, he followed the male with a beard and a smile on gear, leading Kevin to his new home. Once more, his attention drew back and at last second, there, he saw Nat leaving his house, umbrella and all, going to the neighbors house next door. At this, he smiled. His best friend was alive and that's all that mattered-- even if he wasn't the one with him anymore. In spirit, he'd never leave Nat.

And then, he smiled, returning to walk with the man and disappeared into the light, his body disappearing into the air.

One day soon, I'll see you again, Nat. I can't wait.

OMG YAY another Kevynnater!!!! I just love them!!! They are so tots adores!!!!

I also LOVE Misty x Walter!!! They are just to die for!!!! TOTS cute!!!

I like kevnat in the sense that Nat did seem genuinely happy hanging out with him and Kevyn obviously cared about natalie. Platonic or romantic I find it sweet.
