Pg. 11 - The Resilient tabard

This particular addition to the realm of high fashion pays homage to a certain Mamool Ja who once commanded Tuliyollal’s Landsguard.  Zoraal Ja, who became Alexandria’s King of Resolve, is that Mamool Ja, and the sole inspiration behind this item that has been dubbed the Resilient Tabard.

Blending traditional Turali and modern Alexandrian styles culminated into this array, which is nothing short of imposing from all angles.  The feathered headpiece and diadem were the hallmarks of Zoraal Ja, and the argent collar necklace and cloak-with-pauldron pay further respects to the King of Resolve.

The Tabard itself bears traditional markings and embellishments, and radiating fiercely upon its lower half are the very blades he wielded, showing off a stark image of power within the electrope-lined attire.

An excellent piece of formalwear for any occasion, and a reminder to all that uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.  But just like his title dictates, you too can embrace the strength that Zoraal Ja embodied.  Don the Resilient Tabard and become a beacon of resolve in the realm of high fashion.

Headcannon that postcannon Charles doesnt like leaving Edwin alone for long streches of time.

You know the way he did in the beggining of the show, leaving Edwin alone so that Charles could be with Crystal or just giving Edwin space to be with other people(Monty or Niko). I think post-Hell Charles Rowland would feel uneasy about not having Edwin in his line of sight while at the same time not wanting to make a big deal out of it.

Like how in the last episode Edwin is alone and Charles leaves others to pack so he could check up on Edwin, that sort of thing. Or how he was hessitent to follow Crystals plan at first becouse he has to rescue(see) Edwin ( to me it also looks like Charles was so busy rushing to Edwin he didnt noitice Nikos body but that might just be me)

Anyways i think it would be a fun direction to take Charles's characther in. Considering in s1 he is already weary of Edwin spending time with the Cat King, youd get that whole jealousy thing but doubled and mixed in with his feeling of inadequacy as the brawn. But also s1 establishes Charles as being at least partially insecure about their bond: having to correct Edwin whenever Edwin says how Charles would move on quickly and constanty seeking reassurment from edwin about their friendship (ep 1 when he asks what would happen if death came, ep 4 with his fight with the night nurse, seeing Brad and Hunter the best friends as him and Edwin)

And then you also have the reversal of how Edwin was jealous of Charles spending lots of times with Crystal and now Charles is protesting every second Edwin isnt with him. And ofcourse Charles does it from a place of fear and love but Edwin would maybe interpret it the wrong way, who knows?

And, from what the writers have told us, Edwin in s2 spent at least some amount of time flirting with other men (hopefully without Charles lurking in the background) and from what we know from that one cameo Jayden and George did, there was a lot of tension between the boys...

Now im not a writer i didnt write the s2 script or anything, im not saying this is what would have happened in s2 but.... i think the tension might have come from that. From Charles seeing Hell as a traumatic expirience and his PTSD manifesting as his insistence on Edwin not leaving his side, Charles's insecurities and his fear of losing Edwin being at an all time high. While Edwin, who has learnd how to forget Hell, is acting as if nothing happened at all, exploring his sexuality and making new friends in the process.

It would make Charles confront all of the skeletons he's been hiding in the closet but also it would ask the simple question of why is Charles so insecure in their friendship? Why is he constantly mentioning them being best mates? Why does he need it so much? Why is he constantly searching from reassurences that they are best friends?

And for more angst, from Edwins point of view he is doing everything Charles wanted him to do in s1. Hes accepting and letting the dead boy detectives workplace to grow and change, he is being more open and friendlier, he is encouraging Charles friendship/relationship with Crystal and he is no longer playing trauma Olympics at the drop of a hat. So why is Charles so mad? Hes working through his shame and his supiriority complex, hes growing as a person and Charles is still stuck at the staircase.

Can we please talk about the fact that he deliberately hides this from everyone he cares about, so well that it's almost impossible for the player to even notice??? Can we please talk about Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum having to bear the weight of his own corpse?????

thinking about young wukong cherishing macaque - his first friend, his first willing subject/warrior from outside the mountain, the only other one of his "kind" - the way one coveted a treasure. Held him dear, held him close, put him on the softest cushions, draped him in the finest silk, dressed him up with the best garments the world could offer, fed him immortal peaches and wine that nations would go to war for a single sip. Macaque got a share in all the earthly and heavenly pleasures wukong could get his hands on, without lifting a finger if he didn't feel like it (he always felt like it, what's a warrior without a king to serve? but that's for another post). And yet wukong also guarded macaque the way one coveted a treasure - in which the best seals and wards were of ignorance. Held him dear, held him close, so close that for thousands of years the world knew far and wide of the Monkey King's exploits but nothing about the existence of his counterpart. No one could steal from him a thing they didn't know he had. Kept him always in wukong's shadows so the greeds of the world could never touch what's firmly his, so no other light apart from the Monkey King's could shine on his warrior.

The realms only learned of the Six Eared Macaque the day he was lost to the living by his king's own carelessness, and no amount of mourning or picking up the pieces could bring him back to wukong's trembling, remorseful hands.

how would you have rather seen TRK end?

It's been a while since I've read TRC, so I'm not going to nitpick minor details (because I actually don't remember them; I only remember that the whole second part of TRK was a mess and everything was connected to nothing), but my main problem was the absolute anticlimax of an ending to a four-book long series that promised (and delivered up until the last book) the adventure of a century.

This nothingness, this anticlimax, lies in the hesitant resolution of Gansey's story, our dear golden boy. Like... what a waste. Gansey, I love him, but he either should've died or been reincarnated as THE RAVEN KING/Glendower. I felt like his story arc was so obviously going towards either of these directions. Both solutions had the possibility to create a satisfying and logical, but not necessarily a fully tragical ending, instead of the lacklustre banality that we've got.

kpop demon hunters was peak and although as a hobbyist writer i did find some parts and choices strange overall it was truly a breath of fresh air in animation’s current climate and i’d highly recommend it! will also be thinking abt kpop aus now btw.
