Do not just give me black and white characters:

Do not give me heros with solid morals

Do not give me villains with a 'want to rule the world complex'

Na, na I want villains that had to protect there younger sibling from the alcoholic relative

Give me villains that got tortured and abused and grew cold from the tradgedy

Give me heros understanding of the villains point of view

Give me heros that understand the tradgedy before the fall

Give me heros that argue for the villains behalf and get ostracized because of it

Let's make this more clear

Do not give me a story with a 'hero' and a 'villain'

Give me a protagonist with ideals that can be messed with

Give me antagonists with the same 'views' just 'perceived' differently

Give me characters in an unforgiving story

Make me love and hate all of them equally

Make the audience question who's side they are on because logic seems to shift

Give me broken hope that only seems to hold true because they are fighting for someone else

Give me characters that are fighting for siblings just as hard as the opposing team

Give me a character that sees this

Give me protagonists having to fight their team because their team can't possibly seem to understand why the MC would want to *help* the "villain"

Give me a protagonist human enough to realize they aren't the hero

And give me an antagonist who's lived long enough to realize if they play the roll of the villain then maybe they can protect what they love
