Made a corruption au with a good ol pal of mine !

Here’s some info!

Lapis:

“Lapis is sorrowful, dismissive, and easily aggravated by conflict. She is constantly pouring water, always out of her mouth and where her eyes used to be. Only Peridot and Steven seem to calm her from constant agitation in her corrupted state.”

Peridot:

“Peridot is more curiosity-driven, being particularly active and eccentric for a corruption. However, she can be very territorial or defensive when approached by anyone other than Lapis or Steven. Her mannerisms consist of that of a rough mix between an insect, a cat, and a raptor.”

Basic summary :

“The AU starts with an incident where instead of Yellow and Blue coming to Earth, instead, another Diamond Blast was sent across the stars. With varying degrees of effect, both Peridot and Lapis were exposed to this blast, with Lapis’s corruption happening immediately, and Peridot’s taking several days due to how exposed she was to the light.”

I’ve been cooking up a fantasy lapidot au (by fantasy I just mean magic and monsters but there is some basic tech)

Peridot is an aspiring inventor but isn’t very good at it she’s better at making her inventions explode than work. Thankfully for her a Prince Steven (rose quartz became a “queen” after the revolution) took her in and let’s peridot live in a shack in his backyard.

Eventually the crystal knights (I’m considering making them creatures but haven’t decided yet) decide peridot needs to do something around the house instead of just tinkering in a shed so they send her out to get water from a nearby lake, but when peridot gets to the lake she sees a harpy chained up

Peridot tries to avoid her at first (peri is still a bit of a jerk) but after a while peri starts responding to the harpy’s cries and they start talking the harpy reveals her name is lapis but peridot leaves after getting the water (again jerk)

The next week peridot comes back and sees lapis again and they talk more lapis reveals her backstory about jasper chaining her up. Peridot starts going to the lake daily to chat and free lapis as a romance friendship forms.

Something sweet for My Bizarre Roommate Lapidot

TW for Period/ Menstrual Cycle mentions but that's kind of about it.

Whenever Peridot is on her period she gets really bad cramps. So much so that wearing her leg prosthetic is kind of to much for her on some days due to the pain somewhat reaching the thigh area. She can hop around the house on her singular leg fine normally but when the cramps she don't want to move unless it's to the bathroom. Lapis actually will carry Peridot around sometimes (bridal style btw) because Lapis does understand on how bad periods can be despite not having the female organs(due to Lapis in this AU being trans fem and not wanting to have bottom surgery). She'll even get some of the necessary products for Peridot if Peridot ever so happens to run out of said products during her shark week. And for a slightly chubby woman that doesn't eat much normally, Peridot can get hungry and often has cravings for chocolate(which btw help with periods) and of course some of her favorite foods. Lapis will actually give her some of those and even cook some comfort food for her. Most of the time of that week, usually Peridot just plays video games like Monster Hunter or something along the lines. Even though despite all of this, Peridot thinks it's weird that Lapis even helps her with this stuff and says she can do all of that by herself but Lapis insists.

The most interesting part about this is that all this care from Lapis is actually before they even started dating. Lapis gets even sweeter when they start dating and Peridot is on that time of the month. With of course additional cuddles.

Lapidot Week 2020 - Day 3 - Good Mornings

Fact: Lapis Lazuli is on the swim team.

Because of course she is - that’s just how it’s always been. You can ask anyone, and they’ll tell you. There’s never been a world without Lapis Lazuli in the water. The other girls on the team like to joke that she came out of the womb and started running directly for the ocean, just so she could get her first taste of what the universe had made her for. They say she spoke with the dolphins and fish and sharks and whales, and that they all welcomed her as their own. Lapis has been known to roll her eyes at this, though she doesn’t ever say anything about it. She understands it’s a joke. But it’s ridiculous, nonetheless; Lapis didn’t start swimming the day she was born. She didn’t have the strength. She started swimming the day after.

But none of that matters. What matters is that Lapis Lazuli likes to swim, lives to swim. So she’s on their school’s swim team, because why wouldn’t she be? She’s a natural, after all. The other girls joke that she’s a mermaid, a selkie, a creature of the water. They say that she swims so much the chlorine stains her skin blue, to compliment her dyed hair. And okay, Lapis has to admit, the hair is a little on the nose. But Peri helped her pick it out, and dye it, and she’s grown rather fond of it, now. Lapis is thinking about Peri right now, actually, though this isn’t that uncommon; she often finds herself thinking about Peri. She’s supposed to meet her here, after practice. They’re gonna go work on a sculpture project together in Steven’s barn. Lapis finds herself smiling just thinking about it.

Fact: Peridot is dating Lapis Lazuli.

Which is crazy, isn’t it? How could anyone like Peridot ever end up with someone like Lapis? Peri asks herself this every day. When she wakes up in the morning and looks in the mirror, when she fumbles over to her dresser and checks her phone, when she walks to school to find Lapis waiting for her, ready to listen to whatever Peri has to say about the latest episode of CPH (“It was wonderful, because it always is, but the writers know nothing about chemistry,”) or the last bizarre thing that’s happened in tech crew (“Amethyst ate an entire soda can today, can you believe that? Not even the soda part. Just the can. Just popped it in her mouth and chewed! I swear, that girl’s not human, she’s not!”) or her latest invention (“No, it does not shoot lasers, you know I’m at least two years off of mastering compact laser technology,”). Lapis says that she loves to listen, because she does. Lapis doesn’t like talking that much, and Peri always has something she needs to say, so Lapis listens and Peridot talks and it works out well.

She doesn’t know that Lapis thinks about it too, wonders why Peri would ever choose someone like her, who too often comes off as cold or disaffected or quiet and distant, unapproachable from any perspective. Lapis has heard it all. She’s never heard it from Peri, though. Peri, who’s perfect and sweet and genius and adorable. Peri, who’s never failed a class or stopped talking about what she loves or been unable to stand up for something she’s passionate about. Every day, Lapis wonders how she got this lucky.

Peridot just can’t believe it, sometimes, no matter how much Lapis says that she loves her, how she wouldn’t trade her for any girlfriend in the world. It just doesn’t add up, in Peridot’s opinion. She’s weird and more than a little dorky, and she’s not even interested in sex! Or anything beyond cuddling or hand-holding or kissing, really. Peri thinks she might be ace. She and Lapis have talked about it extensively. Lapis knows full and well where her girlfriend’s boundaries are. And she loves her all the same, which Peri is baffled by and Lapis says she shouldn’t be - it’s just human decency, after all, to respect someone’s wishes.

Fact: It’s raining.

It’s raining, but they have swim practice anyway, because that’s how it works. Practice isn’t cancelled unless there’s lightning detected nearby, and so far the sky looks clear in that sense. But the rain’s pouring all around them, thundering down onto the pool deck, adding to water in the nearly-overflowing pool. Some of the other girls have left, meeting up with boyfriends and getting into cars, driving home to where it’s safe and warm. Lapis hasn’t stopped swimming though - she’s got a set to finish, at least another lap or so of butterfly, and she’s not stopping now. She’s gone swimming in worse conditions. Snow, a tornado, even a hurricane once or twice. And she’s supposed to meet Peri here, anyway. She’s not leaving before then. She hasn’t seen her girlfriend all day (they only have one class together, ‘Sculpture & Design’, and that only meets three times a week) and she’s not missing out on spending some time with her just to get out of a little storm.

Peridot’s biking to her right now. She could have driven, technically, but she doesn’t really own a car. Plus, Pearl and the rest of the Green Team have been after her (and literally everyone else, for that matter) about not helping save the environment. And she likes biking. She just wishes she hadn’t planned to bike a mile and a half in the pouring rain. While thunder looms ominously in the background. She… well, she really needs to work on her planning skills. And just checking the weather app in general. And wearing raincoats when it’s raining.

But it’s to see Lapis, and she knows it’s stupid and she’s only seventeen and no one’s really in love when they’re seventeen (or so she’s been told), but she loves Lapis so, so much. She’d do anything for her.

Her legs are burning and the rain is pouring by the time she makes it to the pool. She leans her bike up against the chain link fence nearby, not even taking the time to tie it to anything. Who’s gonna be stealing her bike in the pouring rain, anyway?

Peri walks over to the pool deck, taking notice of how empty it is. But Lapis is still there, swimming laps like she always is, because she’s Lapis, and she can swim through anything. Peri doesn’t even know if she can see her, from the water, through the rain. But she sits and waits anyway, because Lapis will be out eventually, and Peri doesn’t mind waiting. She finds it’s always worth it in the end.

Fact: Lapis Lazuli looks adorable when she gets out of the pool.

Of course, there’s another fact that goes something along the lines of “Lapis Lazuli always looks adorable, so does this really count?” but this time, there is a bit of a need to specify, because you’d think that in certain circumstances (read: pouring rain, borderline thundering) it’d be hard to focus on how attractive someone is, or to make out their features at all. But somehow, that doesn’t apply to Lapis. She climbs out of the pool and takes off her swimcap, shaking out her bright blue hair, and the rain seems to bend around her. And then she walks over to Peri, and it seems to bend around her, too. And Peri can see Lapis, her bright blue hair and her little smirk and the look in her eyes that could mean anything from “Let’s go get dinner” to “Let’s go do arson” and that’s something that Peridot just loves about her, just adores.

Peri goes to say something - probably “Hi” or “I biked here through the rain, I know, I’m a fucking idiot” or “You’re beautiful, how are you so beautiful?” but she doesn’t get to. Lapis gives her a quick kiss, and Peri leans into it, because it’s Lapis and it’s raining and there’s thunder on the horizon, and all of it fits in together perfectly.

Fact: Peridot doesn’t like cliches.

In fact, she hates them. In her opinion, they’re only acceptable in the form of Camp Pining Hearts, and that barely counts as an exception, because CPH could do anything and she’d go with it, because none of the normal rules apply there. Cliches, in her opinion, are terrible. And kissing in the rain? Pretty bad. It’s not just that it doesn’t make sense - “Why? Just why? They’re in the rain, they’re gonna get wet, and then they'll be cold and it just sounds unpleasant, I don’t understand…” - but it’s also that they’re overdone. Boring. She’s heard about kissing in the rain from every romcom, every drama, every single stupid romance novel she swears was put on this Earth just to torture her.

But she has to say, despite the many times she’s found herself cursing various media outlets for perpetuating the wonder and glory and joy and whatever else they say about kissing in the rain, she actually likes it. There’s something about Lapis, and the storm, and the faint smell of chlorine from the pool. There’s something in the way she can feel Lapis smiling, and she can hear the rain pounding all around them. There’s something about it all - and then Lapis pulls away, and just like that, it’s gone.

It’s a short kiss. A soft kiss. And nothing too extraordinary - they’ve kissed before, after all. They’re dating. It’s something they do.

But Peridot finds herself smiling in a different sort of way, and she has to reach up to push her glasses back into place, and she thinks to herself, just a quick little thought, that maybe they could do this again sometime.

From the way Lapis is looking at her, she seems to feel the same.

The dark, suffocating ocean.

Water filling her lungs, she's trapped.

She's always been trapped, she'll never get away, she'll never be free .

No matter what she does.

It's like she's drowning.

Maybe she is.

Lapis jolted awake in her bed, tears staining her face as she huffed and tried desperately to catch her breath. Where was she? What time was it? She didn't know. She didn't care. She needed her head to stop racing, she needed to hear something real, she needed to come back to reality.

"Lapis...?" A tired, strained voice echoed around the room. Lapis's breath caught in her throat.

"W..who.." The ocean gem didn't finish her sentence, trailing off. "J..Jasp-" she choked out a sob.

Peridot threw the covers off of herself, clumsily fumbling off of her bed and across the room, not hesitating to climb into her roommates sleeping space. "Lapis? Hey, Laz. Are you alright?" She stressed, setting her hands on the other gem's shoulders.

"D..Don't... Don't touch me. Please.." Lapis said, barely above a whisper. Peridot drew her hands back, "Are you alright? Do you need anything? Can I help?"

"No, no.. just. Please just sit with me...?"

"Yeah.. yeah. Okay.."

And so they stayed there, in relative silence, Peridot mumbling sweet nothings, Lapis trying to breath steadily, comfort hovering around them.

It was a quiet moment. A soft moment.

It was always a soft moment when Peridot was worried, it was something Lapis was used to.

It was something that Lapis found comfort in. Something she could rely on when she need it.

Peridot brought her comfort.

Maybe that's why she loved her so much

"Yes?"

"Thank you.. for being here. For caring. Heh.. I don't know what I'd do without you.."

Peridot set her hand on the other girl's hesitantly, "It's really okay, I don't mind. I'm just happy to be here for you. I'll always be here when you need me. I really care about you, Laz.."

Lapis took in a sharp breath, her hands shaky as she reached forward to tilt her roommates chin up, she shuffled forward a bit. "Peridot..."

The green gem hummed nervously

"I think... I'm in love with you.."

The room fell silent.

"You.. l..."

"Y-you don't have to say anything.. I don't expect you to, i- I just thought-"

"No! I mean- I.."

Peridot stopped. She took a deep breath, resting her hands on the sides of her friend's face.

"I like you, too." She mumbled.

"..you do?"

"I do. Really."

Lapis smiled, leaning forward.

Their lips met softly in a feather-light kiss. It was.. nice. It was soft, it was sweet, it felt right.

Lapis really loved her.

"That was.. a lousy way to confess, huh?"

They both laughed quietly,

"Nah. It was great."

Lapidot Week- Day Six; Marriage/Kids Au

Lapis is called into the Principal’s office

"Are you sure you're ready?" Peridot fretted, flitting about her daughter.

  "Yes, mom" Aventurine said, holding up her schoolbag for all to see.

  The little Gem's bag was filled with all the things Peridot thought may be useful for school; pens, paper, copybooks, and an emergency button she could press that would immediately alert her mothers that she was in danger. "I don't know why we have to do this everyday" she said, throwing the bag over her shoulder. "I've been attending for three years now, nothings happened."

  Peridot started fiddling with the straps of the bag. "Well, you can never be-"

  "To cautious, I know mom" she sighed.

  "Aven, be nice" Lapis called from the other side of the house, where she was working on a sculpture. "You know how crazy your mother is."

  Peridot smiled over at her "I hate you both" she informed them, and Aven laughed as she headed out the door.

  The second the door was shut, Peridot let out a low keening noise that would of have been concerning had she not been making said noise everyday since Aventurine first stepped out of the house. Now, Lapis didn't even look up "c'mon, she has a point. Nothing ever happens anymore."

    "What the actual slag did she do?" Lapis demanded as she marched into the Principals Office. Aventurine's face fell; clearly she had been hoping for the Nice Mom. Well, too bad, because if Peridot ever heard about this, Aven would never be allowed to step outside ever again.

  Pearl looked completely unphased by Lapis' dramatic entrance, instead gesturing towards the seat beside Aven. "Miss Lazuli, thank you for coming, please have a seat."

  "You can call me Lapis, y'know, we do know each other" Lapis commented drily, before turning to Aventurine. "So, what kind of trouble did she get into?"

  Pearl made an arch with her hands, before pointing them at Aventurine "your daughter decided to try and recreate the fight between Steven and White Diamond."

  Lapis sucked in a deep breath through her nose, then turned to her daughter. "What did you do?"

  "Mam, I swear, I didn't know there was a bird's nest outside!"

  "Uh-huh" Lapis said "but what did you do?"

  Feeling the heat under the glare of her mother and sort-of-Aunt figure, Aventurine quickly started talking. "We were learning about it, and me and a couple of others thought it would be fun to recreate! I was Steven" she added proudly.

  "You decided to recreate a battle that actually happened, and while the victims of White Diamonds reign were in the building?" Lapis asked, incredulous. "That seems incredibly insensitive."

  "Actually" Pearl interjected "they loved it. Especially the part where" she cleared her throat and glanced down at a sheet of paper on her desk "'White Diamond started sobbing about her 'totally tragic backstory' and Steven told her to 'stop being bad' and she did'".

  Aven pointed at Pearl, victorious. Lapis wasn't deterred in the slightest. "Okay" she said "but what's this about a bird's nest."

  Her daughter deflated, almost falling out of her seat because of how low she sunk in it.

  "It was supposed to be the big finale. Amber was supposed to - lightly!- throw me across the room. And instead-"

  "She threw her out a window" Pearl finished.

  Lapis put her head in her hands. She could not let Peridot find out about this. "And you disrupted a birds nest?" She asked, voice muffled, and Aven cringed.

  "I didn't mean to!" She whined, voice raising in a pitch reminiscent of Lapis' wife, and both Pearl and Lapis twitched at the volume of it.

  Pearl reached out under the desk and plopped a mesh of twigs down on it. Dear stars, she kept it. "Be that as it may, we have a bigger problem."

  "I'll pay for the window" Lapis interrupted, exhausted.

  "What?" Pearl looked startled "I mean, yeah, you're obviously paying for that, I thought that was a given, but I was actually referring to this." Then she pulled an egg out of the nest, light blue and speckled.

  "Oh no" said Aventurine.

  "Oh slag" said Lapis.

  "Oh yes" said Pearl. "This is a bird's egg- Magpie if I had to guess. And odds are, since the nest was destroyed" she stared hard at Aven "then the mother is gone now. Somebody has to take care of this egg, or it'll die."

  It was embarrassing how long it took Lapis to catch on, but when she did. "Oh, no, absolutely not" she stood up, chair scraping behind her "we are not giving her a pet."

    "Mom look! Mam got me a pet!"

  There was silence for a moment, then the sound of crashing and Peridot's "WHAT?!"

  Aven cupped the little blue egg in her hands, looking besotted even as her mom came skidding up. "What happened to school?"

  "One of her teachers laid an egg" Lapis said solemly, placing a hand on her daughter's shoulder, who nodded along.

  Peridot stared at them for a long moment." . . . was it Pearl?" She asked.

  "Probably" Aven shrugged, and leaped up the stairs to her room "I'm gonna show him his new home!"

  Which was code for; I'm not allowed leave the house and socialise for a week because I'm grounded.

  The second Aventurine was out of sight, Peridot turned on Lapis "You got her a pet?!" She hissed, making sure to keep it down.

  "I didn't want to, it kind of just happened!"

  Peridot blinked. "W-how- never mind, I don't want to know. But we can't keep it!"

  Lapis moved so that she could wrap her arms around her wife, leaning down so she could rest her head on Peridot's. "I kept you" she said, eyeing the green and blue band on her partners finger.

  Slowly, Peridot turned her head upwards so that they were nose to nose. "Did you just compare me to a bird?" She asked.

  "Uh . . . ."

Peridot turned to Pumpkin Jr "guess who's sleeping on the couch tonight, Pumpkin?" He made a little snuffling noise "that's right" she glared at Lapis. "Not me."

lapidot anniversary week day 1 ! so uh i had this weird rp-themed idea and asked some friends what character they’d pick in a rp and everybody agreed on “peridot would pick anything that makes her taller” and “lapis wouldn’t give a single shit” aaand here it goes. it’s not exactly what i usually see when it comes to fantasy au art but i thought it was fun and i just realized i actually made similar characters during my last sessions lmao
