CORNELIA ARCHER’S BC (attempt 2.0...)

I announced this BC almost three years ago but overestimated myself with the ambition and just wasn't in a good place mentally in the following months (to put it mildly), but now I feel like I've missed projects like this a lot and am still vibing with the idea of this BC. Also my ts3 is running so much better now, which was one of the initial reasons for cancellation, but now it's a lot easier for me, woo!

Before it got cancelled, I've got a few contestants. I think some of them were given for public download since, but it's really not a problem for me, I can still use them. Right now I'm thinking of still using the same contestants and maybe accepting a few more. I also asked a few people on discord who said it's fine to use the same sims.

In case someone would like to join and make a contestant, let me know under this post or in an ask! The catch of the BC is that the contestant should be based on a song/album (of any artist), as Cornelia herself is very Taylor Swift inspired and is a Lover girlie, actually made on the singer's 30th birthday in 2019 as a tribute sim (she and the winner may even appear in the Lover gen of my swiftacy if I get there hehe) (yes I'm an absolutely hopeless swiftie, all of my saves have some inspo from her) (and what about it).

I don't know how many sims I would accept (11 would be perfect... I'd dress her as one of the eras for every episode). But it would be fine for me if I got less than that, realistically the simblr climate isn't the same as back when BCs were more popular, I guess.

I have all the packs. You may set all outfits for your sim so they can match their color scheme, but it’s fine if you can’t.

Private download, but it's okay if you decide to make it public (to those who already made it public, don't stress).

Please write a bio for your sim. It doesn’t have to be long, just basics of their personality.

The most important aspect of this BC: it’s not a regular one, it’s a music-inspired BC. Therefore, your sim must be inspired by a certain song, music video, artist, or music album - it could be whatever you wish! (absolutely no pressure if you can't think of anything and would just want to make a regular sim, but I just thought it would be a fun prompt)

The deadline for making a sim is September 30 (flexible). The faster I get all the sims, the better, but no pressure!

I'm watching The L Word. I guess I was too afraid of my sexuality to engage with it in my 20s, since I'm enjoying it a lot more now. The cast really does have great chemistry, which brings a natural, easy feeling to the dialogue and pacing.

Jenny sucks from episode one. Self insert fiction with a Nietzsche pun for a title? How has she not met a pretentious dyke to name drop Anne Carson at her before this? She seems quite open with her sexuality in general and quick to accept that lesbians as a concept turn her on so I find her initial skittish rejection of actual lesbians talking about their sexuality annoying. This is a particular brand of comphet I'm happy I never experienced-- "I think lesbians are hot but I can't accept that I am one." But she leans into it within the month? lol? For some reason I don't feel as bad for her as I probably should. Maybe because I ended it with my comphet ex as soon as I could after I figured out what was going on with me. Don't say yes to Tim's proposal you idiot.

In the same vein. Marina saying she hasn't "done anything wrong" is fucking nuts. I would respond exactly like Bette did in this situation.

I'm more like Dana in that I "can't feel the flow" of my sexuality, or couldn't feel the flow until I stopped believing it was rude to want to fuck other women and imagine fucking other women. So it was much easier to lie to myself about attraction being "complicated" and "multifaceted" before I started making a point of listening, and discovering that it's really not that complicated. Either I very much want someone's bits in my mouth or I don't. I've still got progress to make, though. The audience is supposed to watch and enjoy the sex scenes on this show, and I still have to remind myself I'm allowed to look. As if I'm afraid someone will clock that I'm ogling. So crazy. It's time for me to grow past this.

I like Bette. She's the most attractive woman here to me. Everyone else can leave and it can just be me and Jennifer Beals... her in that leather jacket. Her designer blazers. I couldn't take my eyes off her during that love scene in episode 2. Sous-chef Lara is cute too.

I feel like L Word fans often either take Bette's side or Tina's side in their marital problems. They both seem to be contributing, though. And it's FUCKED that Tina said having two moms and being biracial might be too much "otherness" for their child. What kind of otherness do you think your girlfriend has dealt with her whole life, Tina. Damn

It's annoying that I have to watch heterosexual sex twice in the pilot, with the emphasis on the man. C'mon...

•Sammy was actually originally a writer for the series but then filled an empty role for the series for a bit until they found someone perfect for it but than Sammy kinda just became the perfect person for the role

•Shelly and Kath actually met at a coffee shop where Kath use to work at in highschool

•Louise and Joey actually was actually happily dating for around 10 years and actually purposed on set, the wedding episode was not planned

•Mark makes music with Sahara they're roommate's actually!

•Liam would drag Carson along for yoga sessions

•Sebastian and Sammy actually go way back to like preschool days, the two grew up in a small town and later on moving into the city together

•Sammy and Carson actually met in a very interesting way (I'll get into it in another post)

•Cris and Celestia had never met eachothers before the whole thing and yet ironically they got paired up as siblings cuz they were the only gingers in the cast

•Xornoth was actually played by sausages twin brother, so they'd put him in like a whole suit and like this thing had leg attachments because he had to look tall

•every Sunday everyone in the cast would bring something to set for everyone to eat, and the one predictable thing that will always be there is a pile of milkshake, no one knows who brings in milkshake still

•the S1 corruption was actually make out of carved foam blocks and took days to carve and paint
