" Baobab, a prehistoric species which predates both mankind and splitting of continents over 200 million years ago. Baobabs (Adansonia) are distinctive trees with incredibly large trunks. They can store tremendous amounts of water, as their trunks noticeably swell during the rainy season. Tree is native to African savannah, where climate is extremely dry and arid, it is a symbol of life and positivity in a landscape where little else can thrive. African baobab (A. digitata) has a vast range throughout the arid parts of Africa; six additional species are native to the Indian Ocean island of Madagascar, off south-east Africa; and an eighth species is native to north-west Australia. The largest known living baobab is the Sagole Big Tree, a specimen of A. digitata located in Masisi, Vhembe, South Africa, near the border with Zimbabwe. Based on its most recent measurements, Sagole has an extremely large base that covers 60.6m², a height of 19.8m and a total wood and bark volume of 414m³. Its aboveground dry mass is estimated to be 54 tonnes. Baobab trees grow in 32 African countries. Tree known for its longevity and some specimens in Africa have been dated to between 1100-2500 years old and reach up to 30m high and up to an enormous 50m in circumference. Baobab trees can provide shelter, food and water for animals and humans, many savannah communities made their homes near Baobab trees. Baobab also looms among ancient mounds and remains scattered around them are invariably early medieval or Portuguese. " // © Dr. Mohammad Firoz Khan

The baobab is known as the thickest tree in the world, with its trunk reaching up to 9 meters in diameter, and the largest one recorded had a circumference of 54 meters. Its upper trunk smooths out into thick branches, forming a crown up to 40 meters in diameter.
– There are nine species of baobab in nature: six of which are found on Madagascar, two on the African continent, and one in Australia.
– The baobab can absorb and store a significant amount of water, with an average tree holding up to 4,500 liters. Elephants love this and eat the baobab’s bark during the dry season.
– Baobabs are incredibly long-lived, with some trees reaching up to 3,000 years old.
– Because the baobab’s trunk has very few growth rings, radiocarbon dating is needed to determine its exact age.
– The wood of the baobab is soft, spongy, and fibrous, used in the making of cloth and rope but unsuitable for traditional woodworking such as furniture making.
– The baobab plays a crucial role in local diets: its leaves taste like spinach, its fruit contains six times the vitamin C of an orange, and its seeds can be processed into oil

The writings of the real life Aleister Crowley: en . wikipedia . org/wiki/The_Book_of_the_Law
supports accelerator x misaka
Hadit and Nuit are two gods that are central to Aleister Crowley's religion of Thelema. Hadit and Nuit are described as not just being "married" but also inseparable and being two sides of the same divinity. So if two characters are meant to embody Hadit and Nuit, then they would inevitably be deeply connected in a similar manner.
Hadit and Nuit are gods that belong to the Age of Horus, the new age of spiritual awakening that the real life Aleister preached about, and also how the Toaruverse Aleister describes his ultimate goal of remaking the world by replacing all older forms of magic with "Science" (aka Thelema). Since Aleister is trying to create the Age of Horus, this naturally leads to the question of if he is also trying to create the gods of the Age of Horus in some way, perhaps by cultivating the Level 5s. And when people analyzed the series with this in mind, it turns out that Accelerator's character deeply aligns with the traits of Hadit and Mikoto/the MISAKA Network with Nuit.
Nuit is described as "Lady of the Starry Heaven, who is also Matter in its deepest metaphysical sense, who is the infinite in whom all we live and move and have our being" and is depicted as a naked woman covered in stars.
Mikoto consistently gets star-related imagery ascribed to her in all of her major character moments and in the Level 6 Shift she literally looked exactly like how Nuit is depicted. Mikoto's power is over the fundamental force of electromagnetism, which governs essentially all macroscopic physical interactions between matter (electromagnetism is the underlying principle of all chemical reactions and the reason that solid things are even solid).
Nuit is also described as "Infinite Space, and the Infinite Stars thereof" and "a sphere whose circumference is nowhere and whose center is everywhere." Nuit is further described with "Note that Heaven is not a place where Gods Live; Nuit is Heaven, itself."
"Nuit is All that which exists, and the condition of that existence. Hadit is the Principle which causes modifications in this Being. This explains how one may call Nuit Matter, and Hadit Motion."
This is practically a perfect match of the MISAKA Network that covers the world and how the Network is the basis of an artificial heaven, devoid of the influence of the old gods, and eventually an entirely new world tree as the Clonoth. Nuit is the underlying field through which Hadit moves. The MISAKA Network is literally what allows Accelerator to move after his injury.
Now there is some dispute here over whether this means Mikoto herself is Nuit or if only the Network is Nuit, but there is actually no conflict here because the solution can be found in Mikoto's name. Misaka Mikoto = MISAKA no Mikoto 'the Lord who is MISAKA'. Mikoto and the MISAKA Network are ultimately one and the same.
Hadit is described as "the infinitely condensed point, the center of Nuit's infinite circumference", "eternal energy, the Infinite Motion of Things" and depicted as a "winged globe".
Accelerator's ability is fundamentally the ability to control the motions of all things. And as mentioned above, Accelerator is literally the center and focus point of the MISAKA Network which is Nuit. Out of everyone that has been depicted with wings, his are the only ones that appear to be innate to him.
Nuit is the "infinitely-expanded circle whose circumference is unmeasurable and whose center is everywhere." Hadit is "the infinitely small point within the core of every single thing" and "the flame that burns in every heart of man, and in the core of every star, and the worshipper's own inner self".
Mikoto has the largest AIM field out of all ESPers by several orders of magnitude, and the MISAKA Network's AIM field literally covers the entire world. On the other hand Accelerator's ability is completely centered on himself and his AIM field extends barely a few millimeters away from the surface of his skin. Accelerator's ability also lets him completely cut himself off from the rest of the world, a literal physical manifestation of the concept of inner focus and solipsism.
Now there is also an argument for Touma being Hadit, centered on the lines of Hadit being depicted as a serpent and being an exorcist and a magician, but at this point, thing that Touma has over Accelerator is that Accelerator doesn't have any snake imagery associated with him (yet). In all other respects Hadit clearly matches with Accelerator. It was Accelerator who "exorcised" Choronzon at the end of NT and Accelerator is the only ESPer who can go up against magicians (besides, how is Touma even a magician anyway, magic literally stops working around him). But most of all, Hadit and Nuit are Thelemic deities and the ESPers are basically Thelemic magicians so the Level 5s becoming Thelemic deities is a perfect match on a conceptual level, whereas Touma's whole shtick is being beyond the framework of any supernatural systems.
Basically, Aleister Crowley himself ships Accelerator and Mikoto.
Ive never really been into the whole Hadit/Nuit thing (if i have to see one more debate about whether Misaka or Misaki is Nuit im going to go insane), so i dont really remember a lot of this stuff off the top of my head, but i do know that theres a lot more evidence for Touma being Hadit than you give him credit for, even if i cant actually remember the specifics. A big one i can remember is the blue/yellow and green/pink color dynamic associated with Touma and KnT in NT22R, which apparently is the color scheme specifically associated with Hadit or something. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can discuss this better, because im like 90% sure that saying Accelerator is more Hadit than Touma is just...not true. Especially if youre trying to use it to claim canonicity to a ship between characters that have like, 3 interactions max, one of which involves one of them traumatizing the other.
You can find detailed arguments on the 4chan archives: https://desuarchive . org/a/
These are only two main traits of Hadit which appear to point at Touma and not Accelerator:
Blue am I and gold in the light of my bride: but the red gleam is in my eyes; & my spangles are purple & green.
I am the secret Serpent coiled about to spring: in my coiling there is joy. If I lift up my head, I and my Nuit are one. If I droop down mine head, and shoot forth venom, then is rapture of the earth, and I and the earth are one.
I am the Snake that giveth Knowledge & Delight and bright glory, and stir the hearts of men with drunkenness.
I am the secret Serpent coiled about to spring: in my coiling there is joy.
The only time we saw those colors was with Touma's dragons and so far Accelerator has never been associated with snakes.
As I said before, I think the strongest argument against Touma being Hadit is simply that Imagine Breaker is supposed to exist outside of any frameworks of magic, Thelema included, so locking him into a rigid role within Thelemic Theology as the embodiment of Hadit just doesn't make sense. On the other hand, the power of ESPers is completely derived from Thelema.
Misaki is probably a backup plan for Nuit. At this point in the story, it is all but certain that the MISAKA Network is embodying Nuit, and if you look for Hadit based on that starting point then the evidence points to Accelerator (winged globe at the center of Nuit), not Touma.
Especially if youre trying to use it to claim canonicity to a ship between characters that have like, 3 interactions max
Kamachi has like 50 more volumes to develop that relationship. We are far from the point where the plot is going to start explicitly referring to certain characters as Thelemic gods.

Takeo's Okusu Tree Over 3000 years old, this camphor tree is the 7th largest tree in Japan. It is 30m tall with a trunk circumference of 20m, its branches span 30m wide from east to west, and 33m wide from north to south. This is the sacred tree of Takeo Shrine, which was built in the Nara period (735 CE). The roots of the tree resemble the feet of elephants and are wrapped in rough bark, with their central section split open near the surface of the ground. Inside is a gaping cavity with an area of 12 tatami mats, which houses a stone shrine deep within.

High winds kept me awake last night and the big oak dropped some branches as expected (nothing too big - the largest were about the circumference of my arm). I'm constantly in awe of the ecosystem this tree houses. Behold the moss and lichen! There's also whole ferns up there, and of course birds and squirrels.

The Green Hells #1
Some recent tramping in the woods. Not a mature forest by any measure, just abandoned farms after 80+ years. Canopy is open-ish, dominant species are basically the relics of commercial agriculture.

Some of the common ground covers. left: Wild peppers, pretty common across the forest. right: Syngonium podophyllum. Forms dense mats but limited to tree falls/open areas. Famous as a houseplant, it has become an invasive species in many parts of Old-World tropics.

Ground is caked in dead wood, hence bracket fungi everywhere. Vine is some Smilax sp. (barbata?), it is thorny and ever-present, forming curtains all over the area. Biggest nuisance along with the rivers of forests ants.

The bizarre grass relative, Flagellaria sp. This a large (several meter) vine that climbs using coiling leaf tips. The only genus in its family, forms the outgroup to the rest of Grass-clade monocots (Graminids).

One of the very large wild trees, possibly leftovers from the original forest that were never felled. Its quite common for farmers to leave big shade trees standing. A few (~5) of them in the area, largest one was ~3m circumference. Alstonia sp., Apocynaceae.

One of the very common wild figs. Ficus variegata, different individuals. Left: ground accumulation post Fig masting. Middle: unripe fig cluster still on the tree. Right: Trunks scars from previous fruiting clusters.

Under a naturally occurring bamboo "arch". Timber bamboos form these large clusters that are perpetually collapsing on each other (and self). Result is this almost "reed basket-like" dome that traps leaf/branch fall and lets very little light through. Few things grow under this shade, but apparently it is prime bat habitat. Its a very different growth form that what you would expect from bamboos in man-made horticulture.

Anyone know what these are?
Found them in my backyard under a pine tree. Smallest Mushroom cap I found was about one inch and a 1/2.
Largest cap was about 4 maybe 5 inches in circumference. Man, that thing was big.
When squishing the bottom, (I had gloves on, don't worry.) They turned kind of a bluish greenish color. Stems were a kind of a reddish pink. Undersides were beautiful sunny yellow. Definitely not planning on eating lmao😅.

February 2024 Mangum Dental Hike-of-the-Month
Grandfather Juniper Trail - In Memory of the Granite Mountain Hotshots
#38 Upper Pasture Trail to #39 White Rock Spring Trail
Distance: 3 – 4.5 miles
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate due to rough terrain
Elevation gain: minimal
Mangum Dental Hike-of-the-Month is reprinted from July 2016 and describes a hike to the Grandfather Juniper, a legendary tree with local fame. The Juniper tree may be the largest known Juniper in the world with a circumference measuring over 26 ft. at the base. The tree is estimated to be 1000 years old and was named one of Arizona’s “Magnificent 7” trees for 2015. Despite these amazing statistics, the tree is special for another reason. The plaque at the base of the tree tells the entire story. In short, this tree was spared from the Doce Fire in June 2013 through the valiant efforts of the Granite Mountain Hotshots from the City of Prescott Fire Department. Later that month, responding to another urgent threat to homes and communities, 19 of the 20 hotshots tragically lost their lives. This hike is dedicated to their memory and this tree is a representation of how much we miss our 19 heroes.
Directions: From the intersection of Williamson Valley Road and Iron Springs Road, travel west on Iron Springs for 6.8 miles to Contreras Rd. (between mile marker 8 and 9). Turn right on Contreras Road and head north .7 miles to a parking area on your right. Those with low clearance vehicles will want to park here and start the hike. Moderate to high clearance vehicles can follow the rough road to the left (north) out of the parking area (Road 9261U). The road follows a fence for another .7 miles to the trailhead.
The hike: A gate and a sign designate trail #38, Upper Pasture Trail. Follow this old road for slightly less than 1 mile to the well-marked junction of trails #38 and #39, White Rock Springs Trail. Turn left or north onto trail #39 and hike for just over ½ mile. As the trail nears the turn-off for the tree, there will be a short stretch of quartz rock along the path then the trail drops into a creek bed. Look to the left for a trail marker and follow the single-track trail that heads west. This short path will lead to the Grandfather Juniper, marked with a beautiful monument and plaque dedicated to the Granite Mountain Hotshots.
Mangum Dental has been serving the Prescott-area dental needs since 1978. We strive to provide exceptional patient care while rendering outstanding compassionate service.

The Cucumber Tree Magnolia (Magnolia accuminata) in Colonial Heights, Virginia sits in front of the Violet Bank Museum overlooking the Appomattox River and Old Town Petersburg. When viewing the tree for the first time, it looks almost comical in size and stature next to the relatively small museum building with its white peeling paint. This particular Cucumber Tree Magnolia is also estimated to be the second largest of its species in the world, with a nearly 23-foot circumference, making it that much more spectacular.
The idea of a record-holding tree usually conjures images of extremely tall trees with enormous towering crowns, but that is not this tree. Instead it’s almost the inverse with a relatively stout height but an extreme girth and outstretched, over-extended limbs that are trees in their own right. The first main scaffold limbs on the tree are at least 24 inches in diameter. They gracefully extend until their massive weight pulls them to rest on the ground.
Viewed up close, a variety of failed arboricultural practices can be seen almost as a museum in itself. Large pilings have been placed in the ground to hold up several of the low limbs, which can be argued do as much if not more damage than the tree supporting itself on the ground. Scattered throughout the canopy are decades worth of steel cables and supports that long-ago arborists installed to maintain the tree and with time many of them have broken or gone slack. It’s most interesting to see such failed support systems hanging from limbs that have once again provided their own support on the soil.
#everybody meet my beloved cucumber tree#my parents were both born in colonial heights and my grandfather lives there to this day. so i have been to this tree many times and#it is special to me. my mom used to sit in it and read as a little girl. since i've been born you haven't been allowed to climb it. but#it's still always been my favorite thing in town and i love it very much. a lot of locals have fond feelings for this tree as it's been#around for hundreds of years and thus plays a part in many memories and family stories#it has always warmed my heart the way it is so beloved#tree stories

"A Weeping Willow of amazing size and age! An incredible 351" circumference(9.3' diameter) and stands at 62'in height. I have seen a lot with big trees but this is the most amazing specimen I have come across. A Weeping Willows natural defense to any kind of injury like broken limbs, bug damage, fungal infections and overall etc are burls. Injury leads to abnormal cell growth that creates the burls. The homeowner was telling me his neighbor down the street, 90 years old told him he use to play in this tree as a kid. That easily dates it at more than 100 years old. Exceptionally rare for Weeping Willows. Located in Grand Ledge Michigan(Eaton County) USA. This is my 2nd largest girth measure. I am sure there are areas on this tree pushing 380-390" circumference."

The Fredville Oak in Kent, England
This is the most beautiful oak I have ever seen. Absolutely oozing peace and tranquility. The pictures do not do this tree justice you need to visit it in person. You will have an amazing spiritual experience
It is probably the largest standard oak in the British Isles. It's trunk has a circumference of over 40 feet. Majesty is a maiden tree with a trunk in excess of 30 feet high, the total height of the tree is over 60 feet.
At the north side of the trunk is a large hole, as seen in this photo, the inside of the trunk is completely hollow. For me I see this hole as the figure of Mother Mary...what do you see?
