Fuck you DVLA. Like just genuinely 100% fuck you. Cancelling my test with 3 days of notice and moving it away MONTHS. I cannot AFFORD THAT!!!!!! I CANNOT AFFORD ANY MORE LESSONS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT!!!!!!! WAITED FUCKING 4-5 MONTHS AND THEY CANCEL IT WITH 3 DAYS??? GET SOMEONE FUCKING IN, I HAVE TO COVER FOR COWORKERS WHEN THEY ARE SICK, BUT THE DVLA, ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT COMPANIES IN THE UK??? NAHHHH, FUCK ALL THE LEARNERS LMAO THEY CAN PAY UPWARDS OF £1000 MORE BECAUSE WE CANNOT BE BOTHERED TO DO OUR FUCKING JOBS.

Multiple people booked the day off to see me through, too, guess they’ve just WASTED that ONCE A YEAR holiday because the DVLA can’t do their fucking jobs.

Actually a fucking embarrassment to the UK. Never knows a fucking essential branch run so shittily.

You can’t just walk into a construction job, ask when the client wants it done and then say ‘yep well tell them to go fuck themself, it’ll be done when I can be bothered’ but the DVLA gets to do that just fucking fine and gets absolutely 0 punishment. Disgusting.

Adding to this as I was a very anxious driver and it took me so many lessons (& money) to build confidence. One of the best things they taught me was "no one behind you can see what you see".

This really stuck with me. It is simple & very true - if you are nobody behind you can see what is happening, only you can. If people behind you want to complain or honk - that's their problem.

You are the only one who can know when it is safe to proceed.

I did stall the car multiple times but I did not crash into anything.

I say it was as successful as you would expect from someone's first time driving manual.

Well I failed my theory test (as expected) but the thing that bugs me is the wording in the question/answer part. My dyslexia doesn't understand what they are trying to tell me. But hazard perception I aced that part but you need a pass on both parts for a complete pass.

At least I know where to focus in my studying for next time.

In Germany it is possible to start driving from the age of 16 but young drivers face limits in the size and power of cars they can use until they turn 18. Step forward German company Geparda who are converting the now discontinued VW Up! by fitting very narrow track rear wheels (it's not a 3-wheeler) and de-tuning the engine to 20hp. The company claims to have already delivered cars, which cost €20,000. Geparda is German for "cheetah"

I learned how to drive a little for the first time today! It was in an empty parking lot with a trusted coworker and 2 other ladies she said she trusted with her life :⁠-⁠)
