Aaaanyways…building update!

I made a few changes to the exterior that I think made it look a bit better, like adjusting the height of some beams and adding in others, as well as texturing the roof with some regular prismarine!

I also did a bit of interior work!

Here’s the first floor, I was going for a spooky/eerie/magicy vibe (there’s a grandfather clock in here somewhere, I just don’t have an angle on it) and I’m really proud of how it turned out!

As for the top of the tower…that was a different vibe altogether.

This vibe was more pure magic, more colors, and a bit of strangeness, having some oddities on display.

And I have no idea what to do with my second floor or my basement, except for maybe putting my bedroom in the basement bc I can’t figure out a good spot for my bed on the second floor-

Also yes I have put creaking hearts into my building. I’m in creative mode and my character is partially creaking and they are my friends :)

Okay so. Fic idea: post demigods and magicians crossover book, they create a minecraft server together. also carter is really good at minecraft for some reason lmao. and and they get into the wildest shenanigans there like can you even imagine the mods they would put in for the server? i bet percy would look for one where there are sailboats. somehow the grass is pink. sadie digs a hole into the middle of the earth. annabeth creates a 1:1 parthenon old athens replica bc why not.

The Deserted Dunes are now slightly less deserted! Meet Hummus, a Silver Lilly Moonwalker from the beautiful mind of @xensilverquill. Hummus is a crocheted sculpture that I had the opportunity to purchase a while back and I have not stopped thinking about making her in Minecraft ever since. She now lives in the Deserted Dunes as part of my Polygondwanaland Project.

I love movies that are silly but I also absolutely hate silly movies. The former is a movie that has silly elements but also has other things in it to justify existing. The latter isn't even silly because the sillyness was designed by committee and committees can never be silly. Sillyness must originate from the weirdest person you know writing a silly bit but also that person has feelings and opinions on the world around them that impact what they find silly and how they execute their silly bit. Sillyness cannot come from a committee because committees homogenize the human experience into bland palatable mush that pleases no one.

This is about the minecraft movie's "the children yearn for the mines" 'joke', btw. and all the other 'jokes' the movie attempts to make. It's sillyness dictated by committee and therefore is not silly, zany, or whimsical at all. It somehow looks worse, because the first trailer made me think this would be bad in a train-wreck fun-because-i-can't-look-away kind of way, but it's clearly going to be bad in a mediocre-slop-created-by-a-marketing-team-and-without-creatives way, and that's way less interesting. Or, more importantly, silly.

Of course I had to make a spruce farm so I could headcanon where the spruce wood in my savannah village builds was coming from.

(I learned recently from a Minecraft youtuber that planting spruce on water stops the podzol from spreading... such a hot tip!)
