Summary: Lars is about to leave and Steven can’t help but feel sad, so he decides to give Steven one last memorable goodbye.

“Are you gonna let me go anytime soon?”

“Just a couple more minutes.” Steven said enjoying the hug Lars was giving him.

He couldn’t believe the transformation Lars has gone though over the years. He would’ve been yelled at by now if it were still the old Lars. But the new Lars was different, in touch with his feelings, more caring. Steven couldn’t be more proud of the person he’s become.

After he finally let go, he looked at Lars with happy eyes.

“Thanks. I needed that.”

“No problem man. And hey, don’t look so sad.” He punctuated his sentence with an elbow to Steven’s side.

He was taken back when a surprised shriek echoed through the air. He looked at Steven and saw him shoot his hands up to his mouth, a faint blush could be seen on his cheeks.

“After all these years you still haven’t grown out of it, huh?”

“H-Haven’t grown out of what?” He started to walk backwards his hands at his sides. Lars could tell he was nervous.

“Oh don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about, Steven.” Lars put his hands up in claw shapes walking towards Steven.

“Lars don’t you dare!” Steven said continuing to back away.

“Why not? You used to love this. I remember when Sadie would do this to you all the time when you would sneak through the back door of the Big Donut without asking.”

“Well that was then and I’m not even... that anymore.”

“That? You mean ticklish?”

“D-Don’t say that word so loud.” Steven’s blush spread to his ears.

“Haha. You really think I’d forget that the word tickle makes you blush. It’s one of the reasons why you’re so adorable.”

With that Lars pounced.

Steven was almost able to move out of the way, but alas, Lars had grabbed his ankle and pulled him to the ground. Lars quickly wrapped an arm around Steven’s legs and placed a hand on one of Steven’s knees ready to attack.

“Noho Lars dohohn’t!”

“I hahaven’t even done anything yet.”

“Buhut I know whahat you’re gonna do!”

“What am I gonna do Steven?” Lars asked starting to draw light circles on Steven’s knee causing Steven to shriek and lightly giggle.

Lars smirked, amused at his reactions. ‘Just like old times.’

“My mind seems to be drawing a blank.”

“Yohohuh’re gohohonna t-tihickle mehehe!”

“Bingo!”

Using one arm to keep a firm wrap around Steven’s shins, he used his other hand to switch from light circles to now full on squeezing Steven’s knee.

Steven squirmed and hugged his middle, even after a few years Lars seemed to remember his worst spots.

“NAHAHAHAHAHAHA LAHAHRS!”

“Yes Steven?” Lars asked calmly as if there wasn’t a cackling boy being tickled beneath him.

“STOHOHOHOHOHOP!”

“Pfft. No can do Steven. I’m about to leave and I don’t when you’ll visit me, I might as well make up for the time I’m gonna be gone. Besides, I think you need to cheer up a bit.”

Quickly and timed perfectly, Lars let go of Steven’s legs and straddle his waist so Steven was now laying on his back with Lars sitting on his thighs. He had also brought Steven’s arms up to the side using his knees to pin them down.

With Steven fully pinned down and unable to move, Lars was ready.

“Man, that was easier than I thought it was gonna be. You barely put up a fight.”

Steven struggled to get free. He knew exactly what Lars was gonna do. He’d do this to Steven all the time when he was younger, in the exact same position they’re in now.

“Lars, let me go!”

“Nope. Now where to start? Let’s try... here.”

Steven shrieked when Lars lightly scittered his fingers all around Steven’s neck.

“Awww. Duhude, you’re blushing!”

“ahahahahahahaha dohohohon’t pohohohoint ihit ohohohohout!”

“Why not? It just makes you blush even more. How cute.”

Of course this caused Steven’s blush to grow brighter than it already was.

Lars traced his ears and the sides of his neck. Steven scrunched his neck but that just caused Lars to go and tickle under his chin or around his ears, making him turn his head thus leaving a new area exposed.

“Come on, Steven, I know you can laugh louder than this. Let it out!”

Steven squeaked when Lars took two fingers from each hand and poked Steven’s ribs.

“Ohoho this is gonna be fun.”

“Oh no.”

Those were his last words before laughter came spilling from his lips.

Lars poked and prodded each individual rib, even vibrating his fingers in between each bone. What’s worse is that he went from light teasy circles to squeezing and prodding at random moments.

Steven kicked at the ground and shook his head.

“Do you still have the same number of ribs since I last counted? Guess I’ll have to find out.”

With that, Lars started at the top and worked his way down. Of course messing up along the way a few times just for fun.

“Oooooooone~ Twooooooooo~ Threeeee~ agh. Steven, you can’t expect me to count while your laughing like this. I can barely hear myself think. Gonna have to start over.”

“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NOHOHOHAHAHAHA! YOHOHUH��RE SOHOHOHO MEHEHEAHAN!”

“You think this is mean? Oh I’ll show you mean.”

He stoped tickling Steven’s ribs and looked down at the hem of his shirt. It had ridden up a little, revealing a tiny line of skin.

Lars lightly traced his finger along the skin, a feather light touch. Steven squirmed and whimpered. It tickled of course, but not enough to make him laugh.

“You really think I’d forget your worst spot?”

Lars then pulled up Steven’s shirt till it reached the bottom of his ribs, leaving his stomach and gem fully exposed.

“Lars.”

Lars looked up to see Steven trying to keep a straight face.

“Don’t. You. Dare.”

“Oh I dare.” He started to lightly trace the skin around Steven’s gem. Causing Steven to lightly giggle and blush harder than he already was.

“LAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHARS!”

Steven struggled best he could, but Lars wasn’t letting up.

It wasn’t until Lars started to trace shapes on Steven’s gem that made him lose his mind. Not only that, but Lars used his other hand to squeeze Steven’s sides around his gem and even his hips.

“Jeheheez. You’re gonna buck me off. Forgot how ticklish you are here.”

“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! LAHAHAHARS STOHOHOHOHOHOP TEHEHEHEHEAHASING!”

“Oh, does teasing make it worse?” Lars paused his tickling and hovered his wiggling fingers over Steven’s underarms.

“Yehehehehes and dohohon’t.”

“Well in that case-”

Steven screamed when Lars’s fingers touched his underarms, followed by lots of cute belly laughter.

“Tickle tickle tickle. Awww. Is the big hero Steven Universe a wittle ticklish?”

Steven couldn’t stand the treasing. With all the strength he had left, Steven somehow pulled his arms out from Lars’s knees and hugged his middle. However, this caused Lars’s fingers to now become stuck under his arms.

Steven panted, taking in as much air as he could. He still stifled a giggle every now and then because of where Lars’s fingers ended up being.

“Dude my hands are stuck.”

“I knohow.”

There was a slight pause between the two of them.

“You gonna let them go?”

“You’re just gonna tickle me again!”

“I can still tickle you ya now.”

With that being said, Lars wiggled his fingers slightly causing Steven to jerk and let out a squeal followed by light giggles.

“See?” Lars asked continuing to wiggle his fingers.

“Yehehehes I sehehehehe nohohow stohohohop IhIhI cahahahan’t tahahahake any mohohohohore!”

“You’re gonna have to lift your arms up.”

“Okay fine.”

Steven slowly lifted his arms up and let Lars’s hands go free.

Lars put his hands on his hips as he observed how Steven was recovering. His checks were still a faint pink and he let a small giggle escape his lips every few breaths. His arms were relaxed and laying on his stomach, probably in case Lars decided to tickle him again.

“You okay?” Lars chuckled.

“Yeah, I’m okay. Can I get up now?”

“I don’t know, I don’t think you’re cheered up yet.”

“No! No! I’m cheered up I promise!”

“Okay fine. You can get up you’ve had enough.”

Lars got up off of Steven and Steven quickly curled in on himself for a second before standing up.

“Lars-”

“Yeah Steven?”

“Thanks. Again. I really needed that.”

Lars wrapped an arm around Steven’s shoulders and pulled him close.

“Of course, Steven. Now come here.”

Lars then put Steven in a headlock and gave him a noogie. Another thing he’d do to Steven when he was bothering him or in a playful mood.

“Come ohohon let me gohoho!”

Lars let go of him and they both laughed before hugging one last time.

“I’ll miss you Lars.”

“I’ll miss you too. Come and visit whenever okay?”

“Okay.”

They waved goodbye, awaiting the day when they get to say hi to each other once again.

Today marks 21 years since the CN City era and exactly 1 year since I started making CN CIty art. So, to celebrate both occasions and to sort of conclude this chapter of my art, I've created my largest piece to date!

I want to thank everyone who's seen my art and interacted with it, liked it, shared it, etc. for the past year. It all means a lot to me! 🖤🤍 I might not be posting as much CN City from now on, but I will continue to post general Cartoon Network art indefinitely, some of which will be part of new projects. As always, here's the full renders of all 36 characters in this piece. No points for guessing why I stopped on this particular number, lol.

I decided to make a list of all the CN characters to illustrate just how many of them I've drawn for the past year. This encompasses all the CN City art, the CN City adjacent art, like the Villains Bar, etc., all FusionLore thumbnails I've done so far and the last triple art style challenge piece, because all 3 of its characters didn't appear in any of the other drawings.

This all comes to a grand total of 48 CN cartoons + FusionFall + (not shown) 8 Disney and 10 Nick shows represented, among which there's 213 different characters that made an appearance (counting the Ben 10 variants of characters + Ben's aliens separately).

So I've seen this concept and this concept that Danny can somehow see the true nature of supernatural things.

This can be applied to SO MANY crossovers.

He meets Jake Long, and sees a silhouette of a dragon.

Juniper Lee looks like a she has a flaming shield on her back, shackled to her by rusty chains.

Steven Universe somehow looks like a 100 m monster, a giant princess, a large woman, and a really big pink guy all at the same time, depending on the exact angle he's looking at.

He almost goes blind when he meets Sakura Kinomoto. Her power is overwhelming and bright. Oddly enough, he's almost invisible to her.

He has no idea what to make of Q when he somehow ends up in an alternate 24th century. All he knows is that he's never seen anything that powerful, and never will again.

He can't see the true form of cybertronians the same way he can see through the paranormal, but energon leaves an odd taste in the air that makes their vehicle modes ineffective against him. He freaks out a little when he meets Sari.

Johnny Blaze feels every level of wrong imaginable and looks even worse.

Constantine is literally wrapped up in litigation.

He meets the Spectre ONCE and vows to never see him again.]
