Spoilers through season 2.

Anyways the best Easter egg/detail thing about iwtv is lestat's card. Some 112 years have passed since lestat gave louis that card and it is in phenomenal shape when louis hands it to daniel. The only thing that is crazier than if louis has held onto it this whole time (meaning he would have had to take it with him post MURDER, through WORLD WAR 2, and the burning of the coven and san francisco and Dubai) is that he had a reproduction made, like did he think over the font, try to recall the exact layout of it, where it's details impressed upon him that sharply???? Contrast this with Armand. You may not remember but armand also gave him a card when they first met!! And we do NOT see it in present day. How sickening for armand, like genuinely it'd be over for me. Either It's our joint marital archives in which case having your ex-husbands/ex-situationships business card there is insane especially if you dont have your own in there. or it's louis's personal archive which is still crazy, like did armand know that it was there or did he see it there when it got handed over to daniel?

My personal headcanon is that louis kept that shit in the ticket pocket of one of his suit jackets (yes this is the place where dreamstat mentions having louis initials embroiderd over his heart.) So either he made the conscious choice to take the suit jacket with him or the card in specific, through ww2 (hence Claudia's "you carry him in here" like it'd be even crazier if she was aware of this) or possibly he had the card in his jacket and forgot about it for some length of time and rediscovered it in the Dubai penthouse. Either explanation makes me rabid. Like what happened when louis found the card? How did he feel, what emotions did it invoke? The other option is that armand was rifling through louis things and either had to give it back to him directly, put into the joint marital archives without saying anything, or put it back in the pocket. Which IF HE DID means that louis knew exactly where it was. The third option is that louis went through his stuff to prepare for the interview and found it then. Or even more interestingly, went through his stuff found the card and that's what triggered his desire for a rerun at the interview, this is probably the one I find most narratively compelling, like the card that started it all begins it again. Like woooooooow. But like we'll never know. Maybe it was used as a placemarker in a book he brought with him, the possibilities are endless.

Armand is not in Lestat's coffin. (Sorry I’ve been obsessing over the coffin layout for months and stared at the new photos for way longer than I should)

The coven coffins have a higher (idk the right term) lid. In the set design pdf and in some scenes you can see a coffin in this style in Lestat's spot, but on the flashback Armand's coffin has a flat lid that matches the one on the office photo. Also he rearranged the coffins in his narration with Gustave switching to Santiago's spot, Eglee to Celeste's (I think implying Celeste was now in the office with Santiago) and Armand in Gustave’s spot besides Claudia’s where the diaries and dress were left. He even added the books from his office to the dressing table.

There is definitely another layer of him playing victim and being kicked out of his office with all his stuff and put right beside the Claudia mock shrine. But it doesn’t include taking Lestat’s coffin despite that being something he would do.

And I always assumed it was a combination of Lestat and Armand saving Louis with Armand's blood being used probably because Lestat was too week for his to be useful. At that point all Louis knew was that Armand at the very least allowed the coven to take them but he still didn't go for Armand first during the fire. So there must have been something big for Louis to spare Armand while out of his mind with vengeance

As per the blood... I don't think Lestat's blood would have been weaker, even if he had been weaker... I mean, by going to earth they don't drink either, get weaker and weaker... and then it distills, and they come out even stronger. Which is to say that while I get where you're coming from I do think Lestat's blood would have been strong enough... but I just cannot see him then leave Louis there voluntarily. Just... no.

And yes, your argument makes sense - what, in the scenario we saw, made Louis decide to spare Armand. That being the rescue is the only reason that makes sense... at least right now.

The thing is, I think Louis knew the truth until SF. The brainwashing did not start till after SF, Louis knew what he had done before, and he spiraled, and regularly because of it. So whatever it was... must have been a bit different still to what we saw, otherwise he would have been more settled with it. And not told Daniel he deserved to die for the "terrible thing he did once".

Because I do not see him mean the burning of the theater there.

I think the biggest takeaway from the finale is that the show purposely did not show us everything which I’m fine with. But also I can see people’s frustration because things aren’t exact like the books or headcanons not being what you were expecting and you can be or feel disappointed. Imo the episode could have been longer to help pacing but that’s just me.

Am I curious as to why we didn’t get to see Daniel’s transformation and the possible 1-2 year gap? Hell yeah! “Born out of spite” LOUIS WERE YOU THERE? (I can see them going down that path of oh I get back at Louis, I’m gonna turn Daniel and he can suffer along but also be a coward and hide after doing so but I can also see Louis believing that if Armand had been keeping himself closed off from Louis, which fair, and Daniel reaching out) okay so if they mentioned Armand made Daniel out of love, affection and loneliness, there would be a problem with that answer too. COS WE HAVEN’T SEEN THAT. THIS SHOW HAS DELIBERATELY CUT/NOT SHOWN US EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY IN DUBAI. I just think there’s way more, specifically post it. Did the chase happen then or ANOTHER when Daniel went home (again that apartment layout, why that ceiling and many many lamps?) Again, the show doesn’t show or say things just to say it. I think there’s always more to what’s going on and it’ll pay off in the end. I guess you just don’t build up stuff here and there in S1 and then toss it aside.

On the other hand, I liked how emotional everything else seemed to be than the books. It’s so.. passive cos Louis is soooooo boring in the books and closed off so his explosive respond to Armand lying? Better. His reunion with Lestat? Much better.

Oh I also asked my oracle cards if RJ is just trolling/repeating what has been said in the episode and I’m laughing so hard. Ahh my guides are funny.

Otherwise I enjoyed the finale, to me it’s just being on a ride into a world where everyone is fucked up and it’s great. I’m here for S3, I’m excited. Things can change , writing and ideas can change but I think RJ trolls, he’s good at that (I’m also in fnaf so trolling is a big thing there).

These are great though! It's such an incredible art department on this show, and it's so amazing to get to see the details of the set builds and dressings like this! I'm loving in particular getting a better sense of the layout of Claudia and Louis' Paris apartment, and the coffin room at the Theatres des Vampires. Also really nice to get the confirmation that where we saw Lestat perform in Armand's flashback in 2.03 actually is Renaud's Theatre. I suspected it was going to be, but I'm weirdly excited to have it confirmed - I can't wait to see mortal Lestat there next season, and it definitely adds a very loaded layer to Armand's recollections given if it follows the books, it was Magnus who saw Lestat from the crowd like that, not Armand.
