How Not to be a Cultist: a 4-Step Guide

Following the discharge of both Jimin and Jungkook, I've noticed that a lot of people on both this platform and others have been exhibiting behavior akin to the 'cultists'. I've actually seen a lot of Jikookers point out this behavior as problematic, but other Jikookers get entirely defensive, saying that they could never be the degree of crazy that the 'cultists' are.

Well, they had to start from somewhere... and they probably didn't have anyone within their circles telling them to stop doing problematic behavior. So my only question is, why? Why push back against people within your community trying to stop you from crossing boundaries?

Don't share photos of private and/or non-scheduled moments. For those who may be confused, non-scheduled means events in which were not approved or disclosed for fans. Taking pictures of BTS at a concert or taking pics with them after asking permission to? Totally okay. Taking pictures of BTS when they're walking home at night or going to the airport for a private trip? Not okay. In order to know where they were going to be, most of these people would have had to have bought information regarding them, and by sharing these photos you're only telling these stalkers that you directly support what they're doing. Of course, not every person who accidentally stumbles across them is a stalker, but there are signs that they could be (aka bringing a professional camera, carrying merchandise like albums to be signed, or somehow coincidentally 'bumping' into these people a few too many times in densely populated areas). Some people might sit here and tell me that they missed them so bad... but you are still engaging in a form of stalking. I don't care if it's a way to 'prove your point', the only thing that you have proved to me is that you have 0 boundaries for two very real people and their overall safety. We shouldn't be using leaked photos of other human beings as a 'gotcha' moment to people we dislike. Also, stop looking for their relatives... it's fucking weird. Unless they themselves have a decent social media presence, do not go looking for them. These are people trying to live their lives, and I don't think they appreciate being stalked just for information about a 'ship' that their kin could be part of.

Take every speculation with a MASSIVE grain of salt. Every whisper or speculation should not be taken at face value, and should instead be treated as untrue until proven otherwise, usually by the boys themselves or from the company. For example, when people were talking about where Jikook was, I personally felt like it was a little ridiculous at times how easily people within this community believed the words of these faceless people. Unfortunately, people dropped both photos and videos of Jimin and Jungkook to prove what they said, but at the same time, you should be treating the words of the eye witnesses like their words are maybe... 20-30% possible. Don't take a narrative and run with it, that's what causes cult-like behavior and promoted delusions.

Think critically, make room for doubts. At the end of the day, the idea of Jimin and Jungkook being a couple is still speculative. Many people on here like to say that they personally think that they're real -- which isn't inherently a problem, but I think it's still important to remind ourselves that all of this is just a big guessing game, and nothing has been 100% confirmed. With that being said, another issue that recently came about was the analysis of the room in which Jimin and Jungkook shot their Killin' It Girl dance cover in, some people zeroing in on the exact location and speculating about the room that they might've stayed in. Not only is that incredibly dangerous, but people immediately began stating that it was a hotel specifically for couples or for weddings. I had this issue when it came to people making posts about the hotel they stayed at in GCF in Tokyo, and I would like to remind everyone that just because a hotel markets themselves as being good for couples does not necessarily make it a couple-exclusive space. For example, LOTTE WORLD in Korea is often promoted as a place for couples, but also it is heavily frequented by children and singles alike. Thinking critically about these kind of things can save you from completely jumping into the deep end and making speculations that can actually be more harmful to you, the community, and the boys at hand. Also important to note: Just because someone is Korean does not make them 100% right. Koreans might have a better cultural and linguistic understanding of certain events, but that does not immediately make everything that they say 100% credible. They're still people too, and we've seen stuff in the media pushed by K-netizens that are simply not true.

When you make theories, don't commit to them fully. This ties a little into what I said above... I think it's normal for humans to want to make connections -- after all, it's in our nature. However, some people make theories and then they immediately try to promote them as facts. You can make a theory post, but try to incorporate more language that could suggest doubt or uncertainty. After all, a theory is a theory, not a proven fact. When I made a theory post about Jungkook's tattoos, I made sure to repeat multiple times that I wasn't sure if any of this could hold actual meaning, and I also proposed certain details that poked holes in the theory entirely. This is important. I saw people just flat out state that Jungkook was the one who wrote the caption on Jimin's Instagram post just because he used the '~' in it. As someone who has a relatively high level in the Korean language, I can tell you that using '~' is very common and not just a quirk exclusive to Jungkook. Jimin has even used it in the past before. I think it would be better to maybe write it like: "Jungkook uses this a lot, and I don't think it's entirely crazy to maybe think that he could've wrote it, but again, it's a common writing trait in Korean, so I could be entirely wrong." This type of wording is better than putting ALL of your eggs into one basket and then immediately stating it as the truth.

But yes, these are things that I think you should be incredibly cautious about so this community doesn't delve straight into the deep end and end up like 'the cult'.

I get why so much people makes Petey kinda tsundere and closed with his feelings because he is grumpy and traumatized, but in the comic books he is so caring and demostrative with Li'l Petey that I think he would be really sweet when he loves someone. Like, after he accepted Li'l Petey was his son he always put him first and try his best so he can feel loved.

(And even when he was in denial everyone was aware he loves Li'l Petey, even his enemies)

When Li'l Petey asked him if he was still mad at him (After letting an entire Ice cream fell on him when Petey told him to not eat on top of him) Petey was a little angry but made sure his son knows he will get over it.

When he was out of cat jail, first thing he did was buy everything he needed to take care of his child.

He had no obligation to let Dogman have shared custody but did it anyway because Li'l Petey missed him.

He accepted being evil again against his will to save Dogman and make his kid happy.

When he said he hated affect and Li'l Petey apologised he made sure to reassure he can do it, he was talking about everyone else (lol)

And he, indeed, is always carrying him, hugging him and telling him such lovely stuff

Am I making a point? Or I just wanted to show how cute and lovely he is with his son? Yes.

I know is not the same to love a child that to love a partner but I think it would be cute and funny that Petey is just the sweetest partner ever, like Dogman would have such a whiplash but I don't see him complaining since he loves physical affect.

How easy it is, to cast blame, to judge, when you can't FEEL the Force in your EVERYTHING. All the time. Every moment of every day. Beautiful but cacophonous, like a symphony of screaming. Like staring at the sun and never going blind. It still hurts. But it's so... so bright. So Beautiful.

Connection. To the universe itself. Soul deep and transcendent. You can feel that the universe loves you. That there is good in people. That Life itself is worth protecting. But at the same time? It is... it is so much.

They work together, with those who are willing, towards something better. Defend, those who can not protect themselves.

Balance and growth. Not fire and chains.

And Oc is pretty sure Anikin will agree. No one should ever be in chains. Dead maybe. Or in jail. But never, ever, in chains. (And no one ever said they were pacifists. Just not war mongers. Sometimes the only answer IS to kill your opponent. To respect their choice, but honor your commitments. Protect those you swore to protect.)

Of course... OC? Going through Jedi training. It's Pre-Anikin days. Both she and Obi-Wan are fuckin Smol. She's not even in his Creche clan. So, obviously, THEY don't have a lifetime ban on the "look, don't touch" fragile plants meditation garden. Very Rich in the Force. Good for focusing. Peaceful, really. And Oc? Has the time and space? And wonder... if? Since, you know, through the Force, she can encourage and discourage plants to grow? And somewhat control animals. Why not... micro-organisms? Say, Midi-chlorians? Force healing is all ready a thing! So the Force all ready CAN interact with the body. Effect it. Change it. What is this, but more?

Really, all she'd have to do is find them, within herself, right? They're already a part of her! Yet... not. Do they consider themselves a part of her? Or is it symbiosis? Yeah, everyone says it can't be done. Perhaps shouldn't be done. But, frankly? They said the same about a LOT of Force techniques over the years. Big leaps in progress scare the SHIT out of folks. Cause if you miss? A LOT of people can die gorey.

So NOW? She can reliably do it to OTHERS.

Need a bit more Midi-chlorians? Nearly Jedi quality but juuuuust under that cut off? She can fix that. Come. Be a jedi. Everyone should be a jedi. In FACT~! Whoops! Oh hey. Looks like all these Midi-chlorian counters are fuckin broken! (They look perfect fi-)(Broken! :] Do Not question me) So when you find that Orohan Child in desperate need of love and care? Just bring um on back!

They're TOTALLY Force sensitive. You can just tell. It's the vibes. Look at their lil face. Vibes, man. Just hand um here. For... reasons. You go get the paperwork. A working tester. And~? Oh would you look at THAT! Perfectly within acceptance range! Neat. Called it again, didn't you, Master Koon? You really do have an eye for these things. Because it IS. Because regardless of what they decide? OC will be with him. Regardless, she's going to go and make sure his mother is free. Not bought, not sold. Free. She has friends who can help. Will learn how to remove the chip herself if she must.

And? He IS going to be a Jedi. Even if he never become a Coruscant Jedi. Even if he decides he doesn't agree with how they do things or they decide the disagree with how HE does things. The Jedi have changed before, they will change again. Living things are meant to grow. Meant to change. And people can be both wrong and right at the same time. It's messy.

But what's important? Is Anikin is not alone anymore. And Oc is gonna help teach him. And someday? HE'S gonna break chains. So many chains. Gonna help people heal. If he wants to. (He does) But for right now? A quick talk with some old people. Maybe a nap. And we either get settled or arrange a trip back to Tatooine. To pick up your mom. In the meantime! You can figure out what classes she might wanna take. Where seems like a good place to settle. *chatting as they walk off, hand in hand*

This little NPC is lost. The Narrator [Black] has come to guide her back to where she needs to be. [Blank Scripts AU]

I imagine Black would be a lot more tolerant toward his NPCs since they're basically just the Dungeons spawns, and by extension, his own creations.

[If you're familiar with manhwas / manhuas that features the dungeon / system genre, you'd be able to understand this AU a lot easier. The majority of my inspiration for worldbuilding came from those specific genres.]

[NOTE: 'Dungeon' is just another term for the Parable. Technically, Black owns a Dungeon and the Parable is just a small part of it. The Dungeon itself is much, much larger.]

For context, the comic below references this post about the Dungeon's children/guard dogs.

[They're more like the immune system since all they do is make sure the (body) is safe.]

[The reason the Narrator [Black] considers them his children is that the Dungeon is feeding off his energy and in turn shares the 'nutrients' to the monsters it produces, which transforms them into an image that resembles his power.]

Joseph is NOT AN NPC! He is a person who exists outside of the Dungeon!

[There are two separate 'worlds' for this AU. Inside the Dungeon (where most of the game-like stuff is happening) and the world outside (pretty much their normal world.)]

[There is a secret third world, and that's our world. Our reality.]

These characters are not actually important or anything, I just made them to make the AU feel more lively. To make a world that exists, you know?

When the Narrator [Black] first established himself in their world, he found a growing problem with homelessness. Not understanding human norms or why this has become a problem in the first place, he offers (tricks) them into working for him as janitors for the Dungeon and they accept for the money.

Most of them left after they got paid, but Joseph was one of the people who stayed. He doesn't have anywhere else to go and has no ambitions in life. He just wishes to live a peaceful life with food and a roof over his head.

Joseph defaults to referring to the Narrator [Black] with feminine terms due to his appearance despite his voice. The Narrator [Black] is not the type to care for such terms anyway so he doesn't care how other people refer to him as long as there's respect.

This post focuses more on the worldbuilding and background aspects of the AU! There are a lot more in store for the Blank Scripts AU, and I want to explore more on how the characters might interact with their surroundings and how this would work to make a world that makes sense.

It would be so cool if people made self-inserts or OCs for my AU actually. I'd love to see how you guys would work with my stuff. Play around with it like a barbie world for your little barbie dolls. Be canon compliant, be canon divergent, who cares, have fun.

I like to imagine Gordon getting increasingly flustered at the vortigaunts' nonstop praises. Just like, face slightly going pink, rubs the back of his neck and looks away all "aw, shucks".

Like, yes, Gordon Freeman is an unstoppable force of nature, but he's also like. Just a guy. He's a nerd and probably a little overwhelmed with suddenly being this Big Hero™️ that everyone is in awe over.

He's the guy who single-handedly WRECKED the Citadel with nothing but the gravity gun, destroying everything and/or one in his path, but like. They kidnapped his friends. NOBODY touches his friends without feeling the wrath of ten thousand supernovas.

Aside from the obvious physical features very very obvious, identical eyes, nose, blonde eyebrows, rindou's face form, ran's hair color palette and (arguably) bonten hair style, blah blah i mean just look a the pictures below, you can also bring up any fact from either manga and add it to the hc and it fits in just SO WELL, i'll give the first example, The Haitanis are very obviously rich spoiled kids like have you seen their apartment? They have a fucking dj set, only rich kids with neglective powerful parents will have no problem paying for that, just saying, and even though i love him let's be real Shio is the type to be that parent, i mean cmon he's rich like crazy rich (filthy yakuza money yum yum) he tots would give his children WAY more than enough allowance so they can leave him alone, also the way they act, i've always the Haitanis were the type of kids that think they own the school cuz their dad is rich .

Nvm if this never becomes canon or both universes don't collide, it's just so entertaining to keep connecting the dots that were likely never there, like how Rindou is a heavy drinker cuz his father drank alot with the rest of the Yotsurugis and he tried to imitate him from a young age that it became an unhealthy habit or if you want to add more drama he only drinks cuz he looks up to his father but Shio favors Ran cuz he can posssibly succeed him (canon power complex) so Rindou resorted to drinking cuz it's the only thing like his dad that he can do. Heck yeah i made it angsty!!!

You can also add great context to his fear of Yakuza, picture this, when he was a kid he got up in the middle of night after hearing a loud noise to search for his parents and witnessed Shio (canon Yakuza) pew pew-ing some poeple and surrounded with scary men, that probably scarred him for life that he was so terrified when Kakucho got them interfering with some, OH OH something just came to mind, if he's the son of a yakuza yeah he didn't wanna clash with other yakuza families cuz it can end in a blood shed and risk his and his family's lives.

And i'm gonna add this one not very small detail and i swear i'll shut up (for now), i know it's just a stupid headcanon that is very far from becoming reality and i don't have to take it this deep but hear me out, why their last name is Haitani and not Yotsurugi like their dad, Shio is powerful and have many enemies right ? So he simply decided to protect his children and their identity by giving them another last name likely their mother's (yk like minato with naruto style plan ?) So Haitani is actually their mom's family name. I rest my case. Thank you for coming to my useless ted talk.
