Heyo again my lovely mutual, Contraded!!!! :D This is the best thing you could've asked me bcz I've been brainrotting over these two lately!!!!!!! love rarepairs and I'm a hugeee multishipper,,, l think that was obvious- I also enjoy character analysis and oh,,, I can just go on abt basebulb!!!

Silly girl who struggles with problems x a more reserved guy who's also going through it but is getting better!!! Baseball could definitely help lightbulb in so many different ways, I mean they've both lost close friends and had trouble managing a team (but in different was) and Lightbulb can definitely help BBs confidence and the whole "always striking out" ordeal

There's probably sooooo much more but yeah I love basebulb and they need to get recognised more!!! Also BB and LB have Sunday movie nights in their rooms together. Popcorn always included! :3

And that last part is so real give my silly goob more attention he's so freakin silly and has SOOOOO much angst potential. AE pls we want more BB. I think I should leave a opinions on baseball post sometime else or this will become way to long 😭

There's a unique exchange occurring between some humans and our planet, often unnoticed. Picture a radiant sphere representing the collective human experience tethered to Earth. On a larger scale, a greater system performs a mysterious task that gives purpose to this interaction. The scouts preview what lies ahead, return to their collective to share information, which then resonates with the planet through the magnetic field. From a higher perspective, Earth might make a strategic move, which appears to us as if the magnetic field is manipulating 'light'.

This process can be hijacked, forcing the system to shutdown the magnetic field, or morph by holding a certain light within it for extended periods to counteract unwanted entities, acting as a purging or reset mechanism to cleanse any intrusion or 'virus'.

Fic Idea : To take up his mantle, to hold down the fort

When Artemis dove into Tartarus, recovering what’s left Apollo that she could from the edge of Chaos, no one was sure what would become of the Sun god when all that the goddess was able to retrieve was a ball of light. However, when a prophecy reveals itself, the children of cabin 7 knows what to do.

Or in the absence of Apollo, Apollo’s kids decide to take on his domain untill their dad comes back.

Basically it's all in there, Cabin 7 kids take on Apollo's domain in the aftermath of Artemis only able to bring back a ball of warm of light that used to be Apollo, there's an uproar of what's going to happen. Will a new god of 'everything Apollo was a god of' have to be chosen? Can this ball of light be grown back into an Apollo with some soil, water, sunlight and TLC? Is Apollo like, dead dead or...? Will someone stop Meg from starting a revolution cause it's a bad time rn? All very important Apollo related questions you see, questions that nobody has an answer to.

When Rachel literally knocks on the door to cabin 7 at 2 in the morning to deliver a prophecy and faint, Apollo's demigod kids knows what they have to do (and they do put it to a volunteer vote basis cause they're good kids, good and dumb kids who love their dad).

So, of course they decide to sneak onto Olympus, to the sun palace where Artemis has placed the Apollo lightball for the time being and its a really cool moment where they stand in a circle and do the 'team! hands in' moment cept its over the ball of light that is their dad.

By the time Artemis (and the rest of the gaggle of gods) get there, they're already too late. Witnessing the aftermath of 7 demigods (I'm adding an oc into this, to make it 7, and also cause I can) basically experience everything the domain they now hold has to offer like the worst hangover.

They're fine, don't even worry bout it.

I haven't thought about much beyond this but here's some (?) trivia points:

+ The demigods haven't become gods, they're more sort of in a Hunters of Artemis situation where they're functionally immortal (but can be mortally wounded) where they basically entered into a contract with Apollo's domains untill Apollo's back to claim them again.

+ Despite that, demigods aren't made to handle whole domains of an Olympian god. They're vaguely aware that after about a hundred years, they will start cracking at the edges till they crack and burst like a pipe under too much pressure.

+ The 7 of them separately handle their own domains (with help), but for a situation that needs a full Olympian god (like the solstice meetings), the 7 of them function together like a robot fusion, or a council of Apollos (a senate, that's the word). They pile onto Apollo's throne like a gaggle of ducklings, or maybe the seat changes to accommodate them all (like bleacher seats). Their appearance there is mostly for maintaining the look (that everything is fine) and that there exists a very fine line they cannot cross on account of being smote, so they mostly keep quiet and interject when something concerns them or their domains directly.

+ Zeus does not like it but half the council argued in favour until Apollo comes back or a proper successor is chosen, (one of which they literally have to wait for, and the other will cause a whole other uproar) and though Zeus is trigger happy, he also isn't dumb enough to rock the boat this much right now. He is placated by the fact that this will not be a permanent thing.

+ I have this much of the prophercy rn: The sun shall rest, slumber till dawn; His domain lies empty, but not for long; The polar night we must endure; and uh that's it (help poetry is not my strong suit)

+ As you can guess, some of the domains are fairly easy to distribute and others less so, especially for Jerry, Yan and Gracie, whom we have not seen that much (basically nothing) on. *sigh*

+ As for the domains that I have distributed, Will obviously gets healing, but I'm also giving him plague. The two domains literally balance each other. Can you imagine someone trying to handle plague without healing?? It'll be like handling radioactive substance without a hazmat suit, so I'm making who has the hazmat suit handle the radioactive substance. Don't worry Will, Asclepius will help you out (if the cabin 7 kids didn't do this. Asclepius will probably handle the two domains till Apollo gets back anyway)

+ Austin and Kayla are pretty easy too. Austin with Music, Poetry and the general arts. The muses are enthusiastic to give him a crash course history of all that entails (ALL THAT ENTAILS) much to Austin's intrigue and dismay (he's the son of a music professor but also, curse you adhd!!)

+ Kayla of course, with Archery, cause, duh. I kinda want to give her another thing though (maybe (protector of) youth? It'll be something to connect with Artemis about, but I'm also hesitant to give a teenager the domain of protecting young people (feels like a recipe for trauma, and dead abusers, and trauma). I'll have to sit on this.

+ I'm shamelessly giving sun to my oc because I have planned out a whole Burning Maze rewrite where it makes sense for the backstory. I will share more about Moly Anatole my bby soon I love the little guy and I've only had her for 4 weeks (they're my pfp look at them absolutely adorable)

+ This actually serves as a prequel to my Lester Amnesia AU where the amnesiac, probably a demigod Leslee (hint hint) has to travel cross country and retrace the footsteps of the once mortal god alongside Cyn (nudge nudge), a son of Dionysus, on a journey of magical self discovery (weeeeeee).

TLDR: lots to think about, idk how much I'll do for this fic idea rn since I only have the skeleton of a structure (1-2 chapters for set up, a chapter dedicated to each kid, possibly 1 to end it off?) and it being fiarly low on my list of Apollo fics (yes, there is a list).

✨Fairies Finds✨: New Early Artwork and Promotional Video from 2005 Disney Fairies Japan Website with Gail Carson Levine- Author of Fairy Dust Trilogy

Fly with you everyone and happy Friday the 13th! I have been looking into Disney Fairies pre-release stuff ever since some early stuff was posted into Art of Disney Fairies. I have also been interested in media preservation since late 2017 when I found Web Back Then. Truthfully, despite having this interest when trying to find the old Disney Fairies games from my childhood- I never really shared much with the world. I feel like I should remedy that! (this find is relatively recent though I found it yesterday!)

This is a video I found on the Internet Archive from disneyfairies.jp, a promotional page on the Disney Japan website that seems disconnected from the main Disney Fairies page which was a clone of the original website. See here

Through some research the gist of the video is this:

The video starts with an introduction to the original Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, which is interjected with clips from Disney's Peter Pan. Then we see more artwork of Disney Fairies- including unfamilar designs including early Vidia, Rani, Fira etc. According to Part of the Magic, Disney Fairies started development in early 2001- the series was launched fully in 2005. Then Gail (dubbed of course) begins to describe the plot of Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg whilst we see several pictures of this early Disney Fairies art. Interesting pictures as we get to see the very early designs of Disney Fairies characters that I have never seen before.

Interestingly, this video was never embedded on the page, you had to download it and play it through a video player such as Windows Media Player or Real Player, it was 2005 after all.

Here is the screen you'd see when you'd want to watch this promotional video. I recognize the leaves used in early flash games such as Lightball Challenge, Dragonfly Race etc.

I tried looking for this video in English to no avail, or any version on the internet. It must have only been accessible through this website.

Interestingly, I found this other page whilst doing my page digging thing again and found this, suggesting this was also a Japan exclusive and not for the American market ... and there is more early promotional stuff to be found in relation to Disney Fairies!

I also looked into one the main book artists on the creative team, Judith Holmes Clarke. She had a website I found on her IMDB page, that was live around 2017-2019. I saw this and wanted to add it as it had one of the stills in this video. It also has a sketch of Rosetta and Tink. This is what I found:

It is probably a scan of this magazine, Disney Newsreel, mentioned on her IMDB.

Overall, I'm super happy with this find and I'm so happy to share it with you all!! I will be happy to share more now that I'm publicly outing myself not just as this fan of children's fairy media- an archivist. gasp...

Once again, Alina's excessive power's rendered useless by lack of its variety and her skill.

That's what you get for practicing only during bright day or "honing the Cut" instead of getting creative with it.

The greatest irony's she knows nichevo'ya. She could've foreseen she'll need to deal with them in closed quarters, but never considers it. Why not try smaller blades? Scalding lightballs melting the creatures from within- grenatki of light? Experiment with light without heat and heat without light? Focus and control over several unsynchronized sources of light?

Siege and Storm- Chapter 18

Skip your duties (that can help feed the country) to watch me be cool doing stuff! Anyone less important would do it for me!

This could've been sweetly melancholic if:

a.) The country they live off weren't collapsing and a few of Alina's lightballs could grant them at least a drop of much needed resources.

b.) Grisha don't get sick... and what has Alina's childhood, adolescence and life in Cofton been like? Malyen truly isn't bothered by it, is he? Either he's an idiot, who didn't connect the dots, and doesn't see it as weird, that Alina HAD been sick for such a long time, or he simply doesn't give a shit.

c.) Other Grisha... if he can't have her as ordinary otkazat'sya, he's willing to settle for ordinary Grisha. As long as she's NOT special, and has plenty of time to focus on him.

d.) As stupid as their party date was, it could've been something to distract Alina from her duties and the pressure put on her. This wouldn't be even spending time WITH Mal, just watching him be the skilled cool guy.

e.) Of course he hates the place that made Alina MORE than him. If it weren't for her time in Little Palace, she wouldn't even think about wanting more than to follow him around like a lost puppy.

Perhaps put some effort in it?

If Mal can so miraculously fit in everywhere, what's stopping him from taking his duties seriously? Not just mope around near Alina, but try to truly become captain of her guards? Learn about strategies and best ways to protect her, exercise and train action with the twins, look for more guards, train them and WITH them, consult Botkin...

Do more than just go where he's invited, act as if he WANTED to PROFESSIONALLY protect Alina instead of playing hero, when others can see it?!

Not to mention he can make himself useful even at those parties. If he does notice nobles hate Grisha, he can at least make a list. They're careless around him, why not listen? Why not consult with Nikolai to learn who they might need?!

He isn't there for Alina, he's there to drag her back into obscurity as soon as an opportunity arises.

Now, that he's doing something FOR Alina, he misses their period of stagnation, when she was slowly killing herself.

He admits it, while caressing her self-mutilation scar aptly representing their relationship.

And here Alina should pull: Never deign to deny. Instead her puritan shame kicks in.

I know Malyen isn't friends with anyone in Os Alta, but if he weren't such a jerk, he could've catch Nikolai for a moment and discuss a strategy. It's not like Kolya doesn't have an interrest in this too. ...and knows how to deal with Court gossip.

I think "We need to discuss what to do about everyone thinking you're a whore." could be added to post-strategy discussions with Alina too. If Malyen can sit in Alina's council AND act like her captain of guard, they deffinitely DO have to spend time together.

If only he'd become interested in reality and its requirements, quit seeing himself as a knight in shining armour, destined to save feeble helpless Alina, and acted according to her actual needs and requirements.

Perhaps sort his priorities differently and instead of bringing up his one-night-stand with Zoya and inviting Alina to make fun of Suli focus on your damn fucking job!

And you didn't read my mind!

And Alina accepts all the blame.

This could be Malyen spiralling. Or simply jumping to another reproach as soon as Alina attempts to address the previous one.

Yup! This is the crux of the matter.

Alina might operate under faulty assumptions, she had to be physically dragged back to Ravka, but eventually she's attempting to DO something.

Malyen saw what the system does to people like him, to his friends... so he decided to pack his gf and bail on it all. And when he finds himself back in the middle of it all, he's simply waiting to drag her away from it again, no matter what SHE wants.

The Collar is temporary, her position of Saint is temporary, her leadership of Second Army too.

They reacted to life-changing events in a way that made them two diametrically opposite people, but Mal's sticking around in hope for Alina's regression. And eventually he gets exactly that for all his trouble.

I'll keep the rest for an extra post since some extra shady bitch is chiming in.

I love it when in fics people make S.Q live in like a shitty cramped apartment, like it just fits them, dunno how to explain it but just... Yes!

I dunno if it's canon and I'm just onto nothing but yeah.

They live in a shitty apartment that may or may not be collapsing day by day. With no light on save for a single poorly working lightball, like two rooms at best, one for Doc and Hank and the other for Sanford and Deimos. Hell maybe they only have one room where they all live together. 3 mattress for beds (Sanford and Deimos sleep together). Another room that is strictly Doc's office she hardly ever leaves, that no one else is allowed to enter without permission unless it's for medical purposes. A blender for Hank, and a poor running refrigerator that has like 7 burgers from Burger Gil, 3 that are expired, 5 hotdogs they stole from the trash, knifes and guns, and Deimos' cigarettes pack. They don't even have a toilet they piss in bottles.
