A empresa tem interesse em se instalar aqui devido ao bom ambiente de negócios. Já o Governo quer trazer essa nova fábrica para Santa Catarina para gerar emprego, renda e atender nosso mercado de construção civil”, destacou Jonianderson Menezes, secretário adjunto da Sicos. O secretário adjunto participou nesta quinta-feira, 5, da inauguração da nova unidade da Lightwall em Rio Claro, no interior de São Paulo. A nova planta teve investimento de R$ 80 milhões. Com isso, vai produzir peças pré-moldadas feitas de um mix de materiais que resultam em uma estrutura com rigidez, isolamento térmico e isolamento acústico. Assim, além dos benefícios construtivos, a solução ainda garante velocidade de construção. Uma casa de cerca de 40 metros quadrados, por exemplo, pode ser montada em apenas 12 horas, estima a empresa Lightwall. Santa Catarina é destaque na atração de investimentos O estado tem se destacado nacionalmente pela atração de investimentos bem como na geração de empregos. Somente os projetos de incentivo fiscal do Governo do Estado, como por exemplo o Prodec, Pró-Emprego e TTD 489, já garantiram mais de R$ 13 bilhões em investimentos para diversas regiões de Santa Catarina e em diferentes áreas econômicas. Além disso, outro estímulo ao investimento em solo catarinense são programas de incentivo aos negócios, portos competitivos e mão de obra qualificada. The door to Tron's hideout slams open - impressive, given it's automatic provided someone has authorization. Tron stiffens, slips his disc into his hand, slinks low to make himself less visible-

"TRON, WHAT THE FRAG!"

Tron takkes a deep breath, deactivating his combat subroutines. It's only Able. "Hello Able, nice to see you too. I'm doing fine, thanks for asking, no more derezzed than usual." He answers dryly, smooth as a lightwall and twice as sarcastic.

"Good to know. I reiterate, what the frag were you thinking." Able hisses, angry enough to trail sparks.

"About..?" Tron raises an eyebrow, perplexed.

"About? About?" Able laughs, sharp and bitter. "First you drag one of my betas into your crusade, and then I find out you electrocuted him?"

Tron winces. "This is about Beck." He not quite asks, wanting to be sure.

"Yes, it's about Beck." Able snarls, hurt. "I should make sure he never sees you again, would keep him far safer than you ever-"

"Don't!" Tron snaps, voice tinged with fear and desperation before he can lock those away. "Able, please!"

Able freezes. Tron doesn't beg lightly, didn't let one single plea or scream past his lips when Dyson and Clu were tearing him apart... but he's begging now. "So you do care." Able's eyes are searching. Tron firms his jaw, falling back on old patterns and doing his best to hide the yes.

Able reads it anyway. Probably in Tron's own eyes. "Then why?" The old Mechanic sits on a chair Tron rezzes in for him.

"Beck- he was already fighting, when I found him." Tron starts quietly, not looking at his oldest friend on this Grid. "The statue... that wasn't me. He did that, on his own. I- I thought he was Cyrus, when I found out what happened."

Able nods. That failure of Tron's he knows all too well.

"I can't fight. You know why. So I resorted to something that would take him down but not derez him. I didn't know. Not until he was already out cold." Tron takes a shaky breath, sips his abandoned glass of energy. "Couldn't leave him out there. So I brought him here. Tried to dissuade him, scare him into stopping." One corner of his lip curves without his permission. "He fought me instead. I couldn't- if you'd seen the look in his eyes, you'd know. Nothing I could have said or done short of derezzing him would have stopped him. Even after I showed him who I was."

"Beck..." Able shakes his head softly. "Stubborn beta. He'll get himself derezzed one cycle."

"That's why I'm training him. So he won't. Or at least so it'll be hard for those who try." Tron knows it's a cold comfort. As he can well attest, even the strongest can fall. "I want him safe too, believe me. This shouldn't be his fight." It should be Tron's, he's designed for it. That's why Clu made sure he couldn't. "But he made it his, and won't give it up. So I'm trying to teach him how to survive."

"You're sending him on missions."

"Do you honestly think I can contain that beta without something combusting. Probably my base." Tron raises an eyebrow, tries his best to show Able he's joking. "I try to give him low-stakes ones. So he doesn't get bored, but isn't in lethal danger. Trouble finds him even then."

"And the second time?"

"While you were... indisposed-" Tron treads delicately around that painful, uncertain time when he was uncertain Able would re-rezz in the wake of Cyrus' attack, his friend little more than a disc laid in a bed of Bostrum's finest blue crystals. "-Dyson came to Argon. I... did not react well."

"Ah." Able winces this time. "And Beck tried to stop you, I take it."

"He succeeded." Tron admits. "But... I do not remember what I did between leaving this base and him stopping me. I... could very well have hurt him then, but... I don't know for sure."

"Well." Able sighs, the last of his fury finally dissipating. "At least you're trying to do right by him."

"That I am." Tron agrees. "Though not... always succeeding."

Able laughs. "That's the nature of caring for betas. But Tron?" His eyes grow steely. "Don't let there be a third time."

"There won't be." Tron promises.

((Until he dives to intercept a disc heading for Beck's unguarded back, screaming for his beta to run, he keeps his promise. Nobody will tell him what happened to Beck after that, once he wrenches himself free of the Sea, hundreds of cycles later.))

Do you ever think Able found out that Tron electrocuted Beck like twice I wanna know how that conversation went down

Titles/Epithets using the "pak" particle in Eliksni Conlang

This post is part of my ongoing project to create a language for the Eliksni! For more information check out my masterpost linked here.

As mentioned in a recent post, there is a specific particle used to denote someone has a descriptive epithet in Eliknsi: pak. I did indeed take this from Sjur's Eliksni name, Siyuriks pak Variisis. After much tearing my hair out trying to decide how to reconcile her title with my conlang (in hindsight, I should have chosen a different verb ending than -is, but alas), I settled on this system.

First off:

Titles are commonly based on verbs but do not need to be. I'll have some examples later on using a variety of words.

Verbs must be in the infinitive form, and in this case are technically gerunds, a form of the verb that is treated as a noun. This means you don't drop the -is ending of the verb!

Often, one of the adjective affixes is added onto the title word, although this is not required.

While the "pak" particle is translated as "the" in English, it is not an article and is exclusively used to precede a title. In fact, it means something closer to "known to/known as", which is why the title itself is often a verb.

That's it really! Simpler than my usual rambly posts, I know lol.

Here's some examples:

pak Variisis: the Unrelenting, "against the act of yielding"

pak Varvathis: the Undying, "against the act of dying"

pak Skeveyris: the Knowing, "full of the act of knowing"

pak Drosk'iir: the Honorable, "honorable"

pak Areydsi: the Loyal, "loyal"

pak Thaamov: the Warrior, "warrior"

pak Rohlov: the Rabid, "wolf-like"

Play around with the dictionary, I'd love to hear some of the titles y'all come up with!!

"Well, I had help." Sam chuckled, showing Komet the other three models he had tucked away. "One of the garages on the Grid... they wanted to rebuild a few older models, so they mocked up some schematics. I happened to already have this one-" he indicated the clunky Gen1 model, the plastic toy far less elegant or glossy than its metallic peers. "-and asked if we could help each other. Them with the models helping figure out proportions, and me learning how to do minor repairs."

"Working on it, for a real one." Sam grinned. "Don't think we'll get a lightwall working, but the rest of the bike... yeah. We're certainly trying."

The shirt was slightly too big on Komet, which was a relief. Sam hadn't been sure.

"Which one, Encom or Intern?" Sam asked, trying to find a hooded jumper in case Komet wanted another layer. He liked ones that swallowed him, so they'd definitely fit. "Because... Encom's where Flynn, Alan, and Lora all work - well. Worked, in Flynn's case, though from what Alan's said the extent of it was he showed up and pestered people who were actually working, after he was made CEO - leader, but not owner. It's a company. Organization, mostly making new software or improving existing stuff. Created and owned by Walter Gibbs, but it's had a few different leaders over the years. Some good, some bad - Alan's only just got it back, and the guy who took it off him in the first place by being a sneaky bastard almost ran it into the ground. Interns are... trainees that work for a company, finding out if they like the work and environment before they actually work there for real."

"Exactly," Ed agreed. "A bicycle's similar, though a motorcycle is the direct analogue over here, except for the lack of a lightwall."

He glanced at the pan in her hands, as dry as any number of paper towels would get it. "The difference with a bicycle is that it's not powered by an engine. It's got pedals that you crank with your feet and are connected by a chain to gears on the wheels. They're used for transportation primarily in dense urban areas where motorized vehicle traffic is... difficult to manage, or by people who can't afford a car, but otherwise they're primarily used for recreation.

[Side B: Rescue]

Haste was the word of the cycle and Ark moved quicker than ever.

Her and her lightcycle flew across the Outlands and straight for Tron City, making up for the time she had lost while she was out.

As she traveled, deep underneath the surface of the Outlands, one Gridbug, out of many, became poisoned for no discernable reason.

Ark knew where the Occupation had most likely taken Ed, and the increased guards around the building confirmed her suspicions.

She remained stealthy as long as possible, revealing herself only when she could sneak no further.

Ark fought her way through the building, alarms blaring as she took on multiple Sentries at a time. The narrow hallways worked in her favor, as only a few Sentries could approach her at a time, so she was never outnumbered in a way she couldn't handle.

It took all of Ed's will not to shrink back from Clu as the guards brought him to the tyrant.

Clu grinned like a Cheshire cat. Whatever he had planned for Ed, it was certainly much worse than what he had just been through. It looked like Clu wanted to say something. Probably to intimidate Ed, play with him before doing... whatever.

Ed had plenty of experience of taking control of situations. He also knew how to be a menace.

Beat Clu to the punch. Hit him where it hurt.

Ed opened his mouth, but before either of them could say anything, the sound of fighting came from the hallway.

Ark?

Ed had no idea if it was her or not, but if there was fighting coming this way, it was likely they were coming for him. At the very least, fighting meant they were against the occupation, and thus a potential ally.

Ed twisted sharply, then dropping down to break free of his captors. He backed away, and pulled off one of his boots. It was hefty; much heavier than his loafers.

Ed chucked it, then the other, at Clu.

Without waiting to see if either hit their mark, Ed turned and ran.

Behind him, there was the heavy thud of one of the boots hitting the ground, and an angered, pained roar from Clu. He approached the fight as cautiously as possible, while also not loosing speed. (The guard or Clu catching hi would not end well, an he most certainly would not get another chance to escape.)

He sighed with relief when he recognized Ark's lightcycle.
