I’ve been playing Honkai Star Rail and looking at leaks and I’m gonna be honest

I’m gonna be honest, Blade and Dan Heng and Dan Feng and Yingxing and their whatever have me feeling the most insane I’ve felt in months, like I’m feeling crazy thinking about them and all the theories people have about them. The dragon heart theory? I literally feel compelled to self destruct every time I see or hear it, anytime the two of them are talked about in relation to each other, I get the urge to scream

Their lore is… it’s so good, it’s immaculate, It’s my favorite out of HSR so far easily

Blade’s lore also like before he came to the Luofu is so painful too… like Hoyoverse decided that for right now he’s gonna be both a metaphorical (Hoyo making his whole life from childhood tragic as hell) and literal (for Jingliu) punching bag in this game.

You know I've been really enjoying Honkai Star Rail but every time I start thinking about where the story might go in the future it just makes me feel nervous, and I think that's entirely because of the stellaron hunters.

I get the distinct impression starting from early in the plot that the writers are expecting me to be soooooo interested in the SH, but they never really give me any reason to care about the SH. Kafka even starts her character quest with the whole "aReNt yOu InTeReSteD iN mE" which,

1) that's writing a pet peeve of mine when it comes to video games. It feels like a thinly veiled attempt by the writers to manipulate or tell the reader how they're supposed to feel about a character. To me it comes across like the writers aren't confident that they made the character interesting enough. They did the same thing with Firefly (NPCs apparently needing to tell me "oH yOu TwO aRe SoOoO close"). They know they aren't going to let the character actually DO anything so they need to inform me of how I'm supposed to feel. Weak

2) It's kind of off-putting if you happen to not see the appeal of the character immediately?? Imo it would be a lot more effective if they just stopped trying to assume/manipulate my feelings as the reader and just let me form my own opinions.

It freaks me out a little bit while I'm trying to enjoy the story because it's so BLATENT. I have the distinct impression that the game is going to reach it's emotional peak, that peak is going to revolve around the SH, and it's going to be a complete miss for me because I simply don't care about these characters.

lol I wanna know how hsr isn’t trending right now. I’ve been blown away by this patches trailblazer main story quest, like holy shit guys. I haven’t been impressed with genshin like this since I started playing the game.

how was playing hsr? was there anything that you liked in the game and the story?

ITS BEEN AMAZING AS EXPECTED!!!!!!!!! i actually havent played genshin in a while since starting it, i have no motivation to do the filler event while a perfectly good star rail is sitting there waiting to be played :')

but for mechanics, i love they have auto battle so you dont have to nessecarily sit there and invest in every little battle you gotta do....and i love that the resin (resin??) system is a lot more forgiving with a higher cap, lower cost, and allow for overflow...thats nice...i also love that the mc and starter units are very useful. im so emotionally attatched to the star rail crew so im glad they never have to leave my team !!!!

storywise im LOVING IT SO FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i started playing it at the beginning of spring break 2 weeks ago and im almost all caught up!!! i went through belabog and penacony and now im just doing those leftover intermission main quests which im only now realizing i shouldve done before going to penacony LMAO

and of course.....danmarch....im so soft for them......and also i love sampo i cant wait to see what they do with him

before i put my "stomping my foot over yaoi and misogyny" days behind me i will say that it is extremely funny watching people try to found family-beam blade and kafka while also insisting on the canon-ness of a BL fest between him and a dude who isn't actually his ex but an entirely different person

y'all became so afraid of looking basic by acknowledging the nature of a man's relationship with a woman in his life that u somehow got to calling her a family member in the midst of her expressing explicit attraction to him and u don't think that's weird bc ur being progressive and calling her a lesbian! #feminism!
