Hi hello yes I actually found your blog while I was looking for Ronon Dex whump, something there is not nearly enough of, and I just wanted to say that should you ever want to share your thoughts about him, whump-related or otherwise, I'm around to hear them,,, I care him very much (which is why I like to see him hurt... funny how that works).

OHOHOHOHOHO DID SOMEONE SAY THE MAGIC WORDS “RONON WHUMP”????? And yes there is not NEARLY enough Ronon whump!!! Buckle up I don’t think you know what you’ve unleashed by offering to let me talk about this XD i have 43 (i counted thats not an exaggeration) unfinished fics where i whump this man so i have A Lot of Thoughts on this so i’ll try to keep my headcanons and general thoughts from getting mixed up so here we go (also I haven’t actually seen past season 3ish but I know like everything)

Just general thoughts

I just love the team dynamic in general the actors had great chemistry with each other

They don’t whump Ronon enough and that is A Crime.

But when they do whump him OH BOY ITS GOOD

Just off the top of my head I can think of the episode where John and Elizabeth were possessed by those people who wanted to kill each other and ronon got SHOT that was dope especially when it showed the surgery but I was so mad there was no aftercare

Also just the fact that after Ronon was shot the guy possessing John said (about John) something like “if only you could hear him right now he is screaming so loud” or something to that effect and I’m not really a John whumper but oh boy the thought of John fighting as hard as he could to try and get control back because he wants to help Ronon rlly adds to the experience

After atlantis flies and John is going around checking the damage and he finds Ronon with the shard of glass in his shoulder juts the way he kneels down next to him is so soft and his voice goes soft too its great

I haven’t gotten there yet but ohoho the enzyme episode where Ronon gets drugged and then has to go through withdrawal ohooho I may have watched that scene a few hundred times

I just love also how fiercely loyal Ronon is and how much he trusts them

That ep where those villagers were going to give them to the wraith and Ronon literally would rather die than let his friends be taken to the wraith I love how John and Teyla go through like 45 heart attacks that’s one of the ones I haven’t gotten to yet but ive seen gifs and oh boy oh boy does it look good

The way I generally describe Ronon is he’s like a bug fluffy dog. Like he’s kind of silly sometimes and he’s very loyal and will kill without hesitation if it means keeping his friends safe

Also just that whole scene when Ronon arrives when John is asking Elizabeth if he can stay is just like a kid asking his mom if he can keep a dog he found

And Ronon has such a sweet smile also I love it when hes happy (but also I love it when hes in pain)

Stargate Atlantis was very well directed because for most definitions of “good acting” you can see “oh this character is sad. Now they are happy” which I do understand that many people prefer this because they have difficulty interpreting facial expressions but I absolutely adore how subtly expressive the actors are because to me it’s fascinating to decode what the character is feeling. They act like real people and talk in the way real people would and it seems super natural and not scripted, and you can just tell in their interactions that the characters care for each other a lot and its beautiful

Now that I’ve said something vaguely scholarly-like its time to move on to the mess of headcanons

Headcanons

So when rewatching season 2 with my sister I realized the amazing potential for angst involving Kell (his old commander who he killed) so in my mind even though he’s very loyal to John at first it was more of a “you saved my life now I’ll watch your back because I owe you” and he had difficulty trusting any of them but especially John this changes over time ofc but he can’t help being wary of command

I also hc that Kell would punish the soldiers in his division for being “unfit” for battle so like if they broke a leg or something they would be punished (this is mostly just for my guilty pleasure of ANGST) so that way they would “be more aware” of their surroundings and whatnot

Also disobey direct orders was a big no no and you know how laid back John usually is with orders so the first time Teyla disobeyed a direct order after Ronon joined the team John was grumbling about it in a way Teyla knew wasn’t serious but Ronon just kind of panicked and started lying his ass off and saying he threatened her into doing it and he should take the punishment which led to an awkward conversation (awkward for Ronon, it left his teammates ready for some murdering)

He hides injuries because he was alone for so long and never had anyone to take care of him so he just forgets that he has to mention it and in his mind some injuries might not be that bad

Beckett is constantly chasing him around after missions desperately trying to get him to hold still for long enough to do a check

Ronon hates pain medicine because it tends to dull his senses so in his mind all the more reason to avoid Beckett

He is really good friends with Beckett but just not when he’s hurt

Usually he wanders into the medbay after bad nightmares if Beckett is on night shift and will just sit there

One time he hesitantly asked if Beckett could check to make sure that the tracker was actually gone for good

Ronon was expecting to get laughed at but Beckett took the request with the upmost seriousness and ran all the tests he could think of to calm Ronon’s fear

One time Ronon stumbled into the medbay and he obviously hadn’t slept in a while and was flinching at every noise so Beckett made up an excuse to “take some blood to test and see if it would be compatible with vaccines for the common sicknesses humans get” and just like. Sedated him. Ronon felt betrayed at first but quickly realized that Beckett only did it because he cared about him and wasworried. He did try to get more sleep after that tho

Oh and you can bet Beckett goes off at him if he ever ends up in the medbay which he does to everyone but especially Ronon because usually he’s either dragged there or he’ll come in like “yeah so three days ago for the last mission I got hit in the side and now I’m coughing up blood so…” and then will just like pass out

While he was a runner he trained himself to be a light sleeper so adjusting to Atlantis was difficult because the ocean would wake him up every night at first

Also thunderstorms are The Worst to him because 1. It gives him PTSD for when he was a soldier and the wraith were attacking and 2. When he was a runner thunderstorms were almost a death sentence because the wraith could track him but he couldn’t hide he couldn’t hear and he couldn’t see so yeah thunderstorms are real bad for him

He has a constant fear of leading the Wraith to his new home and his new family oh also I decided that he doesn’t know if his mother died or not so every place they go he’s hopeful he’ll see her

This is a hc I had before I knew it was basically canon but he and the team hang out in the cafeteria a lot especially after nightmares they just all gravitate there

Also I haven’t gotten here yet so I’m just going off of what I know but he kind of tried to leave after Beckett died because he managed to find a way to blame himself also one of my hcs is that Beckett would tell him about Scotland all the time and had decided that if they ever got the opportunity to go to Earth then Ronon was coming to Scotland with him sooo ehehhe the angst of Ronon going to earth for Beckett’s funeral and going to Scotland with Beckett but not in the way either of them wanted

On to softer hcs just cuz

He loves hugs. 7 years of being alone would make anyone want a hug.

Children gravitate to him for some reason. Logically it doesn’t make sense because he’s so big and a bit intimidating but children just adore him

He carries extra snacks for Rodney

He can’t swim. Somehow he went his entire life without knowing how to swim which Rodney is astounded by and goes on about it for a minute or so

John took it upon himself to give him swimming lessons. John was a terrible teacher but Ronon managed to get the idea

He loves cocoa, specifically loaded with marshmallows. Teyla jokes he likes the marshmallows more than the cocoa

Wow this has gone on so much longer than I thought it would

So that’s it! you unleashed the beast. I now demand to hear your thoughts on ronon because boy oh boy hes a great whumpee and im not sure ive met many if anyone who likes to whumpe him so im super excited!!

DISTRACTIBLE IS A SCAM!!

I was led to believe I would be able to vacuum while listening to Distractible, but less than two minutes into the first episode I couldn’t move due to laughing so hard I was crying. Needless to say, absolutely no vacuuming occurred. False advertising!!!

My Final Thoughts on The Final Problem

This (extremely long) post contains spoilers.

Continue reading under the cut if you want to process along with me.

Okay, well.

I went into this episode thinking it was terrible, since that was the predominant feeling I saw on this site. So, my viewing of it was a bit more critical than it probably would have been if I didn’t have that context.

But even then, I was surprised at how much I didn’t hate it. How much I enjoyed watching it, even.

Of course, that’s not to say this episode didn’t have its problems. Because it definitely did. I’ll get to them in a minute.

But first, here’s what I liked about this episode.

The Sherlock and Mycroft growth.

So much happened with the brothers’ relationship in this episode, and it made my heart that loves familial love so, so very happy. Even in the beginning when Sherlock said Mycroft was good at acting. Wow. I mean, I know they thought they were going to die, but still. Leaps and bounds from episode one when Sherlock called him his arch nemesis. And then when we saw Mycroft reacting to the death of the governor(?). Mycroft purposely puts on a callous exterior and that was shattered this episode. So beautiful. AND THEN WHEN HE TRIED GETTING SHERLOCK TO SHOOT HIM. JUST. AH. AND THEN. AND THEN. SHERLOCK NOT BEING ABLE TO DO IT. HIM PREFERRING DEATH THAN SHOOTING HIS BRO AND JOHN.

I think that this aspect of the episode was honestly just so beautiful and lovely. And I’m sure there are people who disagree with me, and that’s okay, but I thought that this aspect was the best part of the whole episode.

The Sherlock/Molly Scene

Okay, I actually have a lot of problems with this scene, and I’ll probably rant when I get to my problems with the episode, but for now, I’m gonna look at what I liked about this scene.

To me, it showed how much Sherlock actually cared for her. Not in a romantic way (I know people will argue, but to me, there wasn’t enough growth in that area for it to be realistic), but in a real, valid way. A platonic way. A platonic love that is just as valuable and just as precious. Because Sherlock? Sherlock doesn’t have friends. That’s what we are lead to believe at the beginning of the series. But now, now he does, and each one is so, so precious to him (and now that we know about his best friend, we know why he cares so much). It showed that Sherlock did not want to take advantage of her, which is essentially all he has done in the past. He is forced to confront the fact that yes, yes he does love her. Just not in the way she wants.

And he is broken that he has to lie to her, that he has to manipulate her. Break her. His one friendship (besides John). Destroyed, in his eyes, because of Euros. I know a lot of people hate the coffin smashing scene, but it shows so much emotion, so much pain he had in having to manipulate her, even if the statement “I love you” wasn’t really a lie. It just wasn’t the way Molly wanted.

The Victor plot

Guys.

My word.

I must say, I did predict that something happened in Sherlock’s past that affected him. I just had no idea what it was.

Well, I guess we know now. And so does Sherlock.

I will admit that I started crying when Sherlock was figuring it out. It was emotional, and it explained his compartmentalization so much. It added layers to his character. And who remembers when Mary shot Sherlock and he used Redbeard as a comfort for him in his mind palace? Because I do, and I will literally never be able to see that scene the same ever again. I’ll cry.

The acting was freaking superb

Need I say more? They were all amazing.

MORIARTY.

I have never wanted a character to not be dead during an episode than I did when he showed up. His character brings so much life to the screen (ironic, since, you know, his character also brings death). And I also low-key wish we got more Euros and Moriarty scenes because dang their interactions were captivating. They seemed like very similar characters to me, and I would have loved to see how that relationship/partnership would have played out over a span of several episodes.

Man, I just really wish he wasn’t dead.

The wrap up

I liked the end of the episode for a very basic, simple reason. It was resolved. At the very least, we know that Sherlock and John are still together. Still solving crimes. Still kicking butts. Being doting parents to Rosie. Nothing jolting. Nothing randomly out of the blue to put us all on edge. They will continue on as characters who have gone through hell and come back stronger, and I think that’s beautiful. Do I want a fifth season? Absolutely, for multiple reasons. But for a series finale, I think it worked out okay.

The ‘rents

I just need to see Mr. and Mrs. Cumberbatch on screen more often.

Mrs. Hudson

She was the real MVP for the entire season, honestly. (I do wish she got more screen time in this episode though).

Sherlock and Euros at the end

I like that Sherlock is reaching for a relationship with the sister he never knew. I have a lot of issues with Euros, but this bit shows that she isn’t being as neglected and that, in spite of everything, Sherlock still cares. That’s...amazing to me. Like, this woman killed his best friend. Yet there he is, playing the violin with her. Wow.

“Greg.”

He got his name right. ;-;

“He’s a good man.”

Excuse me as I cry.

And that’s what I liked about the episode.

*takes a deep breath* Now it’s time for the cons

The beginning

That was the strangest opening I’ve ever seen. How exactly did Sherlock make the eyes bleed on the paintings? Was a creepy clown really necessary? Was this scene necessary at all, actually? I mean, I guess it was supposed to fun and goofy, put it was more strange and off putting to me than anything.

Euros

Specifically, how the frick did Euros get people to do things for her. Okay, I understand manipulation, but they wrote her character and made it seem like everyone lost their minds when they talked to her. It reminded me of the X-Men, and it felt like we were being introduced to a new super villain rather than a person. And okay, getting the man to kill himself and his family, while far fetched, still seems at least a little plausible, but taking over an entire facility? No. Not without some sort of help, and help with better motivation than “she convinced me to.”

The plot reminded me of a fanfic

But honestly, that’s happened with this series before, so I’m not really surprised. But it felt like a fanfic in a way that others haven’t, and that is it had a very linear, very non layered plot. Sure, there were surprising elements. Deeper aspects to the characters. But it essentially left no deducing for the audience. No layers for us to analyze. And while I’ve always had the impression that the fandom has always picked apart things that Moftiss never actually put much thought into, there was still at least stuff to pick apart, a new theory to think about, and aspect about a character that wasn’t blatantly pointed out to us.

I think it boils down to this: older Sherlock episodes make us think. This one did not.

There was no case we were trying to solve, no situation we were trying to figure out. Just basic stuff thrown at us. So while it was something I enjoyed watching, it didn’t bring the complexity and depth that I’d come to love about the show. It reminded me of a Criminal Minds episode. (And I love CM, don’t get me wrong, but they are different shows, and I love them for different reasons, and therefore expect different things from them).

The plane situation

I get what they were trying to do with it. They wanted to show how Euros fragmented, how she felt alone, neglected. That was heartbreaking. But, the way they carried it out...well, I think it could have been executed better. Like, how was she able to switch between being the girl on the plane and being Euros controlling everything? I suppose that would be a sign of mental illness (if I had to guess, I’d say DID but I am by no means an expert and therefore don’t have any authority on the subject), in which case I sincerely hope that they provide her with the care she needs rather than just leaving her alone in the facility. But, how exactly was she able to pull it off, getting everyone where they needed to be. There just doesn’t seem to be a lot that makes sense, like some things just don’t add up. Perhaps it will make more sense with a second viewing, but we’ll see. All in all, I don’t have a huge problem with how this situation played out, but it does leave me wondering.

The Molly/Sherlock scene

Okay guys, here we go. This might get long.

The scene, if taken alone, without any other context, is fine. Quite enjoyable, actually. If I knew nothing about the show, I’d be intrigued by the dynamic between these two characters. As mentioned, I also love how Sherlock’s love for her (in my opinion, platonic love) is shown. It was painful because it obviously hurt Molly, and I was heartbroken over the manipulation, but that was why Euros has him do it. It was supposed to hurt. So, yeah, I’d call the scene, in and of itself, a success.

But dang it, she deserved better.

The entire series, we have her adoration of Sherlock pushed at us. Somehow, someway, it has to come up. She can’t even date other men without Sherlock being the central theme. And I’ve had enough. The writers have shown who she is, however briefly. What she’s capable of doing. She’s smart. She’s talented. She takes her job seriously. She’s caring. Kind. Diligent. For the love of women everywhere, give her more scenes showcasing this instead of her crush. Show her bonds with other characters. Please. She is more than her crush on Sherlock. She is more than a convenient plot device. Writers, respect the female characters you create. Please. There are already not many female characters in the show. Let them shine without the men being the center. So, honestly, if you gave me that, if you gave me more Molly. More of her solving crime. More of her realizing her worth. More of her without Sherlock. I would have been fine with the scene you did give us. You don’t have to completely ignore her crush. But with the way you wrote her this episode, that’s all she was, in this episode and in episodes prior. And it’s frustrating to watch. Let her move on, for pete’s sake.

With this in mind, I realize that the writers need to fit everything in, and more Molly in a different context just might not have worked. But they’re creative. I believe they are capable of doing better.

Sherlock and John

Honestly, I know we got a ton of it in the last episode, but I do wish we got more John and Sherlock being vulnerable with each other. It felt like they opened up the floodgates for something wonderful last episode, but then this episode just...there was no follow through? I mean, it was there in the obvious things. The parallel between John and Victor, Mycroft acknowledging that John is vital in Sherlock’s life (plus, he lost a bff already, I doubt Mycroft wants to be the cause of that happening again). Sherlock basically calling John family. Sherlock and John essentially raising Rosie together and continuing as friends/lovers/not really sure what they were by the end. It was there. But at the same time, there was a dynamic that just...seemed to be missing to me. Perhaps it was all the hype that TJLC would be confirmed this episode and it wasn’t, at least not blatantly. Perhaps it was that John, honestly, was not really a main focus in the episode. Perhaps it was the fact that there are still so many things that needed to be said between them that were left unsaid. Perhaps it was a lot of things.

To me, this show will always be about the two of them. About their love. At this point, I don’t know if it’s romantic, platonic, or even familial, but it’s there. And if they are going to end the show, I think they should end it with that being shown. They gave us a tiny slice of it at the end, but because this relationship is so, so important, if this was in fact the last episode, I personally believe there should have been more. Something. I don’t know what, but I definitely don’t think it should’ve been Mary talking about it. If there’s another season, I’ll be fine with it. But if not? I’m gonna be left feeling at least a little jilted.

Also, let them hug more. Let them hug all the time.

The advertising for the episode

This isn’t really a problem with the episode itself and more with BBC and the producers. I just think they handled this poorly, and I think that the advertising for the episode, the expectation the writers built up for it, holds a lot of the blame for the accusations that the show is baiting. It’s caused a lot of hurt for a lot of people. For example, they surely knew that people were hoping for TJLC this season. I saw a lot of evidence in posts about it, and while some of it was reaching, in my opinion, I also found some of it valid. By the time TLD aired, I was almost sure that it would be canon. And with the way they advertised? Sherlock saying “I love you,” calling it “ground breaking” and all kinds of other stuff, well, I understand why people got their hopes up really high. I think a lot of pain could have been avoided if some things were addressed, (I dunno, maybe they were. I’ve seen some people claim that Moftiss said TJLC wouldn’t be canon. No idea how true these claims are. I’ll have to investigate) or even advertised differently. There was no need to emphasize and push the “I love you” scene in advertising. There were plenty of other aspects of the episode to choose from.

For those of you who were needing/longing/hoping for something more, I am truly sorry. I hope you get the media representation you deserve some day. Keep fighting for it.

INCONSISTENCY.” I kept seeing this before the episode and with all the flack it was getting, I expected more of a blatant plot hole, but honestly, it’s not really... They show them throwing a rope down, not John actually getting out. For all you know, the rope was so someone could come down and unchain him.

- I’m still thinking about every time Sherlock’s mentioned Redbeard and how everything is changed.

- How exactly did Sherlock’s memories change? Mycroft talked about it in the beginning but I didn’t really follow along (surprise surprise). I just need to rewatch that little segment again I guess.

- I need to see Mycroft as Lady Bracknell

- I’m actually quite sad that Sherlock has never owned a dog

- Sherlock is the adult one in the family. Amazing.

So now you still hold the lock, but you got scheduled away from the CPU, because you had used up your time slice. The "current time" you read is basically now stale, and has nothing to do with the (future) time when you are actually going to release the lock. Somebody else comes in and wants that "spinlock", and that somebody will now spin for a long while, since nobody is releasing it - it's still held by that other thread entirely that was just scheduled out. At some point, the scheduler says "ok, now you've used your time slice", and schedules the original thread, and now the lock is actually released. Then another thread comes in, gets the lock again, and then it looks at the time and says "oh, a long time passed without the lock being held at all". And notice how the above is the good schenario. If you have more threads than CPU's (maybe because of other processes unrelated to your own test load), maybe the next thread that gets shceduled isn't the one that is going to release the lock. No, that one already got its timeslice, so the next thread scheduled might be another thread that wants that lock that is still being held by the thread that isn't even running right now! So the code in question is pure garbage. You can't do spinlocks like that. Or rather, you very much can do them like that, and when you do that you are measuring random latencies and getting nonsensical values, because what you are measuring is "I have a lot of busywork, where all the processes are CPU-bound, and I'm measuring random points of how long the scheduler kept the process in place". And then you write a blog-post blamings others, not understanding that it's your incorrect code that is garbage, and is giving random garbage values. And then you test different schedulers, and you get different random values that you think are interesting, because you think they show something cool about the schedulers. But no. You're just getting random values because different schedulers have different heuristics for "do I want to let CPU bound processes use long time slices or not"? Particularly in a load where everybody is just spinning on the silly and buggy benchmark, so they all look like they are pure throughput benchmarks and aren't actually waiting on each other. You might even see issues like "when I run this as a foreground UI process, I get different numbers than when I run it in the background as a batch process". Cool interesting numbers, aren't they? No, they aren't cool and interesting at all, you've just created a particularly bad random number generator. So what's the fix for this? Use a lock where you tell the system that you're waiting for the lock, and where the unlocking thread will let you know when it's done, so that the scheduler can actually work with you, instead of (randomly) working against you. Notice, how when the author uses an actual std::mutex, things just work fairly well, and regardless of scheduler. Because now you're doing what you're supposed to do. Yeah, the timing values might still be off - bad luck is bad luck - but at least now the scheduler is aware that you're "spinning" on a lock. Or, if you really want to use use spinlocks (hint: you don't), make sure that while you hold the lock, you're not getting scheduled away. You need to use a realtime scheduler for that (or be the kernel: inside the kernel spinlocks are fine, because the kernel itself can say "hey, I'm doing a spinlock, you can't schedule me right now"). But if you use a realtime scheduler, you need to be aware of the other implications of that. There are many, and some of them are deadly. I would suggest strongly against trying. You'll likely get all the other issues wrong anyway, and now some of the mistakes (like unfairness or [priority inversions) can literally hang your whole thing entirely and things go from "slow because I did bad locking" to "not working at all, because I didn't think through a lot of other things". Note that even OS kernels can have this issue - imagine what happens in virtualized environments with overcommitted physical CPU's scheduled by a hypervisor as virtual CPU's? Yeah - exactly. Don't do that. Or at least be aware of it, and have some virtualization-aware paravirtualized spinlock so that you can tell the hypervisor that "hey, don't do that to me right now, I'm in a critical region". Because otherwise you're going to at some time be scheduled away while you're holding the lock (perhaps after you've done all the work, and you're just about to release it), and everybody else will be blocking on your incorrect locking while you're scheduled away and not making any progress. All spinning on CPU's. Really, it's that simple. This has absolutely nothing to do with cache coherence latencies or anything like that. It has everything to do with badly implemented locking. I repeat: do not use spinlocks in user space, unless you actually know what you're doing. And be aware that the likelihood that you know what you are doing is basically nil. There's a very real reason why you need to use sleeping locks (like pthread_mutex etc). In fact, I'd go even further: don't ever make up your own locking routines. You will get the wrong, whether they are spinlocks or not. You'll get memory ordering wrong, or you'll get fairness wrong, or you'll get issues like the above "busy-looping while somebody else has been scheduled out". And no, adding random "sched_yield()" calls while you're spinning on the spinlock will not really help. It will easily result in scheduling storms while people are yielding to all the wrong processes. Sadly, even the system locking isn't necessarily wonderful. For a lot of benchmarks, for example, you want unfair locking, because it can improve throughput enormously. But that can cause bad latencies. And your standard system locking (eg pthread_mutex_lock() may not have a flag to say "I care about fair locking because latency is more important than throughput". So even if you get locking technically right and are avoiding the outright bugs, you may get the wrong kind of lock behavior for your load. Throughput and latency really do tend to have very antagonistic tendencies wrt locking. An unfair lock that keeps the lock with one single thread (or keeps it to one single CPU) can give much better cache locality behavior, and much better throughput numbers. But that unfair lock that prefers local threads and cores might thus directly result in latency spikes when some other core would really want to get the lock, but keeping it core-local helps cache behavior. In contrast, a fair lock avoids the latency spikes, but will cause a lot of cross-CPU cache coherency, because now the locked region will be much more aggressively moving from one CPU to another. In general, unfair locking can get so bad latency-wise that it ends up being entirely unacceptable for larger systems. But for smaller systems the unfairness might not be as noticeable, but the performance advantage is noticeable, so then the system vendor will pick that unfair but faster lock queueing algorithm. (Pretty much every time we picked an unfair - but fast - locking model in the kernel, we ended up regretting it eventually, and had to add fairness). So you might want to look into not the standard library implementation, but specific locking implentations for your particular needs. Which is admittedly very very annoying indeed. But don't write your own. Find somebody else that wrote one, and spent the decades actually tuning it and making it work. Because you should never ever think that you're clever enough to write your own locking routines.. Because the likelihood is that you aren't (and by that "you" I very much include myself - we've tweaked all the in-kernel locking over decades, and gone through the simple test-and-set to ticket locks to cacheline-efficient queuing locks, and even people who know what they are doing tend to get it wrong several times). There's a reason why you can find decades of academic papers on locking. Really. It's hard. Linus

ok hi haahahaha this is such a late post, and there are still a lot of belated posts i haven’t fill in yet bc i’m such a lazy ass wtf but ok anyway!!!!

today was supposed to be a special day.

ok not really cus we met on the 24th, a day before the actual date we got together cus han has work on 26th so in consideration of him needing some time to rest, we decided to meet on the 24th so we can stay out late and then he can use the rest of the day to sleep.

truth be told, halfway through the day things started becoming ugly. like ok, let me tell yall from the very beginning ok.

ok so we decided to meet at orchard cus the night before we planned to catch a movie – jumanji, the 4:20PM time slot. and like as usual i was late zz even though i was on a frikin uber. like tbh i could have reached in like 30 mins or even lesser if there wasn’t any other passengers in the car. like i don’t get it ok why are the drivers so damn greedy wtf if it’s one other passenger sharing i wouldn’t mind la but there were 2 other passengers and both of which were going different locations. so like the driver had to drive to 3 different locations and mine ofc la had to be the last one right :-) but ok wtvr so when i was on the ride, i decided to google the seating plan for the movie but the shitty thing was jumanji at 420pm was a really small theatre so most of the good seats were all taken.

and by this time han was getting frustrated with me cus i was late lol and he was all like “can we even still watch the movie can you even make it?” and i was being all pissy cus of the stupid other passengers shit so i said “yaaaa we can still watch the 5+pm show”

then i googled the seating plan again but lmao even the 5+ one was shitty af cus the good seats were all taken so i checked the 940pm slot and it’s the larger seating theatre so there were still plenty of good seats not taken yet.

i finally reached orchard AND DID I MENTION HOW CROWDED IT WAS THAT DAY WTF fucking humans everywhere but i guess it was inevitable since it was the eve of xmas and like i should have known but zzz shitty. but ya then after i met han i told him that all the earlier timeslots has shitty seats and showed him the screenshots i took. so we decided to catch the 940pm timeslot instead.

walking to lido was so annoying bc all the other humans don’t know how to fucking act and move in a streamline manner wtf but ok anyway when we reached lido, the amount of people queueing to buy tickets were super crazy so i ended up just booking the tickets on the website instead and that saves us so much time and trouble from having to wait in line.

and thennnn ok we or should i say i, was supposed to link up with seanna and her bf to go to the carnival together (sorta like a double date thing but not really) but before that they were going to the xmas wonderland thing so i thought hmm maybe we can grab lunch/dinner together first then since they were making their way to orchard also but lol end up they started eating without us so i’m just like okkkkk. we saw them, i waved hi and then we went on our separate ways from there. like we didn’t even hang out like we planned to lol but nvm then han was a little irritated cus he was hungry but there were so many people everywhere and i was being indecisive as usual so i just randomly suggest places to eat and then we went to check out the food court but there wasn’t any available seats so we ended up just having our lunch/dinner at crave nasi lemak. the lemak cili padi chicken set i got wasn’t very satisfying. han got the usual chicken wing set.

ok then like i tried to link up with seanna again but idk i feel like for someone reason she was just trying to avoid me, us?? or maybe she just wanted to spend the rest of the day alone with her bf but i feel a little disappointed bc it would have been great if she straight up tell me instead of like making me wait for a reply. but ok ya we failed to meet up again.

and thennnnn we were walking around the mall killing time and i went inside factorie, before that han was being so distant and poopie idk why but then ya we went to factorie and i tried on some shorts bc they were on sale but ended up not getting any cus they didn’t fit me right around the waist. before that i tried to ask han for some opinion but like idk why to me it just sounds like he was pissed off and insensitive and i felt hurt and tried to keep it inside and to pretend that it didn’t hurt me but lol i couldn’t hold it and started giving him the silent treatment.

honestly idk why i’m so sensitive, i cry so easily these days over really minor things, some things are not even important but you know on days like these all i want was to be held, to be comforted, to be given attention, to be cared for, to be loved, to feel the love, but for some reason i couldn’t feel it from him cus he didn’t give it to me.

like he could have given in to me and like idk apologize or something, even if it’s not his fault, i feel like he should have at least done something like holding my hand, or pulling me to a corner and just quietly giving me a hug or something like idk i feel like just doing something so simple like that could have soothe me right there and then but he decided to become fire too and it sucks bc it was supposed to be a memorable happy day.

and then for a while we just sat in silence, waiting for the hall to be open for our movie but we had like 40 mins left to kill and i felt so bored and tired of sitting there i just wanted to go out for a breather so i told him and at this point, he was just sitting there using his phone and all not paying me any attention. like as though whatever’s on his phone is way more important than me. and that made me mad and i felt even more shitty so i just stormed off and went down, out of the mall and walked around aimlessly. i was hoping that he’d follow me and idk just grabbed my hand and ask me if i’m ok or not or idk just show that he care and i thought he was following me but i guess not bc he lost me so he called me and asked me where i was and bc i was still fuming, i added more oil to the fire but after awhile, i felt like shit so i went back and walked towards where he was and then we walked to far east plaza and just walked around inside the mall for a bit.

i asked him if he was hungry and i guess he was craving for pezzo or something cus he asked me if there’s any pezzo around and i said yes there is but it’s quite far after that i asked him if wanted to go but he was like nah.

so i said it’s ok we still have like a lot of time to kill we can go and get pezzo if you want it (at this point i thought he don’t want to go bc i told him it was far but i remembered that there’s one at the basement of ion and it was quite near to where we were) so i walked towards ion and like he had this super black and unhappy face on so i asked him if he’s ok but he’s just like “ya just walk” so i did and then we finally arrived at pezzo then i asked him what he want but he just like look super frustrated and then teared up and i was so shocked bc i honestly didn’t know what was going on and then he told me that he felt like vomiting but i didn’t want to listen to him blablabla and i was like??? how would i know if you didn’t tell me and when i asked if you’re ok you said just walk??? then he was like “i already told you i don’t want what” and then i tried to become water bc i felt bad but he pushed me away both times when i tried to hold his arms wtf he has never pushed me away before (i don’t think he has ever did that pushing away motion to me before) so from trying to become water, i become fire again. i was so fucking??? wtf?? like i tried and truth be told i wanted to go home on the spot cus i felt so shit!!!!! but our movie was gonna start and it’ll be such a waste so i stormed off towards lido walking as fast as possible to keep the distance between us and i........ did something stupid again. it doesn’t hurt as much as the other time but that’s just because there’s no concrete walls which sucks at that point of time but anyway ya we went in the hall and to our seats.

after awhile, han became water. idk how or why or maybe sitting in darkness makes people think or reflect or something idk la but he apologized and grabbed my arm and then started doing his sniffing my hand habit thingy and putting my hand on his face all and that’s when i just crumbled. i was crying like a baby without sound. bc that was all i wanted, like throughout the whole time we were arguing and giving each other the silent treatment that was honestly all i wanted. him holding my hand, telling me things will be ok, that things are ok just with that one action. i think that was why i probably cried like the feeling of relief and being comforted just turned on the waterworks in me.

we held hands for a bit during the movie and ok yall gotta go watch jumanji it was amazing!!! (i think i literally say the same thing for every movie i watch) the casts are rly cool and there were a lot of hilarious scenes. and then after the movie, i asked han if he was sending me home and he said yes so we walked towards the bus stop and even though it was already around 12, some shops were still open and so was this small pezzo stand so i got some pizzas while waiting for han who was waiting in line in 7-11.

luckily we made it in time for 65 cus i think it was the last bus already towards the east.

upon reaching my place, we sat at the usual spot and ate our pizzas. and both of us were broke af so we couldn’t afford to book a ride home for han so he decided to take the first train back and since we got time to kill, we talked for a bit and then he wanted to sleep but i kept annoying him asking him to wake up and give me attention hahahahahaha and then i felt shitty la cus like he finally got up cus he was irritated after i said that he’s always sleeping only but then we were just sitting in silence again lol so i stood up and went down cus i just wanted to walk around alone for a bit to cool myself down bc i don’t want to ruin the day by becoming fire again and i was about to walk a little further down towards the other lift until i heard footsteps and someone grabbing my arm hahahahaha wah like drama like that right!!! but what he did = instantly cooled me down and then he asked me where i was going so i said i’m just gonna go walk around and he can go and sleep if he want to then he pulled my arm and wrapped himself around me while we went back up lol wth and even though i kept asking “isn’t it uncomfortable like this?” i was secretly enjoying it la mcm bodo hahahahaha why ah we always say the opposite of things its like we like them but we will always deny the fact that we like what they’re doing rly bodo sia.

then he started staring at me and smiling like a fool wth!!!!! and i was soOoOooOo panas wtf like i can feel my face getting hot bc i was blushing like crazy??? can your boyfriend actually do that to you when he’s ALREADY YOUR BOYFRIEND? wtf like i thought the blushing thing only happens if you’re secretly in love with someone and they do something cute to/for you or something idk but holy shit i was blushing la ok and like he just kept pulling me closer and making eye contact and smiling mcm taikkkkkkk so cute wtf stop itttttttttt fml ok *breathes* then ok end of story

overall we ended on a good note la maybe i thirsty la so long never get dick alr HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH JKKKKKKKKK
