Gonna copy-paste what I put into the Dual Process Theory YouTube community post, just in case anyone is blissfully ignorant of what's been going on in the Disney community:
The National Indian Child Welfare Association is an organization working to protect indigenous children and families through education and advocacy on child welfare and kinship rights. The original Lilo & Stitch is very relevant to the ICWA as it shows a US government agent attempting to separate an indigenous woman from her child ward to put her into the care of the state, something that has happened and continues to happen to indigenous children. Nani's "Aloha 'Oe" scene was added as a way to parallel their situation with the colonization of Hawai'i; the original song was written by the last Queen of Hawai'i as the United States forced her to cede her ancestral lands to them, which they then proceeded to colonize and commercialize. Nani is unable to find a job due to the tourism business taking over her land and Lilo is objectified enough to mirror the behavior (taking photos of white tourists rather than white tourists taking photos of her) and gets removed from her traditional dance because of a rich white or white-passing bully.

The original movie is subtle in its messaging but very clear if you know anything about Hawai'ian history, and the movie ending with 'ohana being kept and Nani being able to keep her sister, who she loves, because she now has a support system who can assist her in her own shortcomings is presented as a happy ending for everyone, and the ideal community that we should strive for.
The reboot, if you haven't seen it, has Nani (played by an actress whose mother is a Hawai'i realtor) literally look Lilo in the eye and tell her that 'ohana is a fantasy that can never be reality and that their parents abandoned them by dying. She AND the film see Lilo as a burden on her that is alleviated when she gives up custody and goes to the mainland for college. Why not have her go to a Hawai'ian college, or do classes online while staying with her sister? Because they didn't think about her actually caring for and loving her sister. They thought about how she should go pursue the generic American Dream, and this neurodivergent traumatized child should be passed off to someone else. They literally have an indigenous CPS agent tell her to do this. Her happy ending is giving up custody of her sister to a neighbor and going to a white-dominated university.
Even the non-indigenous characters get removed from the 'ohana, as Jumba is now solely evil and irredeemable and serves as the final antagonist instead of Gantu, which also provides the wonderful(/s) message that criminals cannot be redeemed and government agents are never wrong. The reboot looks at you and tells you that family means nothing and indigenous people should give up their children and culture and assimilate. The director literally said in an interview, "Some people get left behind."
All this to say, we're definitely donating to the NICWA today. They fight to protect the Indian Child Welfare Act that prevents indigenous children from being kidnapped away from their cultures and assist indigenous families in protecting and caring for each other.
Nobody gets left behind.
Happy Stitch Day, everyone donate to the NICWA out of apology that we let the reboot gain any kind of traction

The National Indian Child Welfare Association is an organization working to protect indigenous children and families through education and advocacy on child welfare and kinship rights. Nobody gets left behind.

I know you think having a gf thing is a joke and honestly I don't think it's a problem when bl actors have gfs or bfs, but they do get massive hate for that for real. do you know that new got so much hate for having a girlfriend? he still gets hate comments from toxic shippers that he should die for heart failure because he got heart problem? and that account that was hating on dunk was really pushing for hate. so of course it was the problem. the number one reason bl/gl actors get massive hate and death threats is literally having a gf/bf. it's a sad reality but i don't think you should treat it lightly.
I don't think this situation is a joke.
It -is- a joke.
And to show you how serious I am about this, I'm not even going to include images. This is just a giant wall of text.
Because outside of the BL-sphere, what are the repercussions of Dunk really dating a girl? What issues would he face if he was really straight? I'm going to skip over bisexuality because Lord knows half these fans don't even register that as a thing. So what harm would come his way if he was an actual heterosexual man?
Nothing. None. Nada.
If he was dating a girl, it would hurt his branded pair, but he could pivot. He could still work in other roles outside of the pair which he has done because being straight or being perceived straight isn't an issue. He would still have a job. He could even do something else outside of the industry. He'd be fine.
Because the issue isn't Dunk having a girlfriend. The issue is him stepping out on his branded pair because people are real weird about monogamy, especially when it comes to two boys because queerness actual queer people are scary to them.
So since you wanted to start with Tay and New, let me remind you that New get threats for having a girlfriend, but when Gun and Tay kissed during New's live, people went out of their way to call Gun, who is perceived as the more effeminate one, a straight up fag in the comments of his posts. Tay also got so much hate that he made a video and people's biggest issue was how could he go from such a masculine guy like New to such a twink like Gun who has never stated his sexuality. Because the issue wasn't Tay 'cheating' on his partner (with the partner literally being right next to him), but was the possibility of Tay kissing an actual gay guy.
Milk of MilkLove was rumored to be dating Noeul of BossNoeul and both of them received online hate at the mere thought they were breaking up their ships, but Noeul has received far more online and in-person hate once he started dressing and presenting a bit more effeminate than previously.
Freen of BeckyFreen was dating Seng formerly of BillySeng. The hate was ridiculous and it has followed Seng even after he departed from Idol Factory, which can easily be seen in the comment section of his posts. I genuinely feel bad for the boy, yet he still is working.
So you know who I do feel bad for all of the time? Publicly out queer folks in this industry!
Max of MaxTul dates women. People knew that and hated it because he was 'cheating' on Tul. But he still had work, and he still has work now. Because being straight does not harm people. Online hate is real. Cyberbullying is real. But Max could pivot if he wanted to like Nanon, Bright, and Win. But you know who never said he was dating anyone? The actual gay guy, Tul! And who retired from acting before he announced he was dating a man? Tul.
Cooheart has gone on record stating that being an openly gay man in the BL industry has severely limited his options. He will not be able to play a straight character because people know he is gay, so the online harassment he receives isn't because of not being faithful to a branded pair, but because he is actually gay, and that harassment has translated into him getting less jobs. He cannot pivot. He is essentially stuck.
When Supanut was hanging out with Sailub, he received more online and in-person harassment because he is the openly queer man. Sailub received comments that he was disrespecting Pon per the usual, but Supanut received comments that were directed not at him just trying to break up a ship, but about him being queer. People were equivocating him to being basically a gay hussy, who just wanted to wreck all the ships, which makes me very interested in what fan interactions will look like once I'm the Most Beautiful Count airs.
Daou gets lots of comments about disrespecting Offroad by hanging out with other guys, but the comments that really upset him were the ones saying HE WAS DISGUSTING FOR POSSIBLY BOTTOMING! Offroad stays quiet mostly, but he was bothered by people saying he was BULKING UP TOO MUCH AS A QUEER MAN!
I'm not even touching Mew and Gulf, but only one of them was labeled a predator and it wasn't the straight one!
So just because some of y'all want to take Joong liking a post about Dunk having a girlfriend seriously does not mean I need to. The online harassment is disgusting because people have parasocial relationships with actors who are simply doing their jobs, but I am not going to sit here on Tumblr dot com slash Respect the Petty and entertain this made up drama that stemmed from Joong liking a post about Dunk being perceived as a straight guy when openly gay people are being significantly more harassed, targeted, and limited for being gay in an industry that profits off of gayness.
Take all this energy you have for me and meet me in the My Sweetheart Jom chat on Friday, so every time someone mentions how Saint isn't believable in his role because he is a 'bottom,' you can give them the same lecture you want to give me about the seriousness of online harassment and its real-world repercussions.
Kay? Okay!
#it has to be a joke#because this only has consequences in a small space#being straight is not a threat#calling someone straight is not hate#it's manufactured bs#but being openly gay and getting harassed for it is serious#so I'm picking my battles#and being upset over joong x dunk divorce era 2.0 ain't it#toxic fandom

Hi! 🫡 Idk if you're into angst. If so, could you write reader and Ellie who are having argument at night and reader decides to go on a walk to cool emotions down, but Ellie won't let her go alone so they go together still mad at each other and it ends fluffffffyy.
Love your posts! 💘
Ps. Sorry for my english lol
a/n: i listened to jeff buckley while writing this and i lowkey got carried away. anyways hope you enjoy!🪿
“it’s not a big deal, i don’t know why you’re making it a bigger deal than it needs to be.”
“it is a big deal ellie, you were literally flirting with another girl!”
you and ellie were out at the bar with a couple of friends earlier that night. everything was fine until a girl came up to ellie, she was obviously interested in ellie with the way she kept shooting flirty remakes her way. ellie didn’t seem to notice, if anything she was entertaining the girl. constantly playing into the flirty banter, not brushing her off when the girl would get extra touchy with ellie, she even leaned into the girl with a small smile on her face and that’s when something in you snapped.
the ride back to your shared home was silent, not the kind of silence where it was comfortable but the kind that made the air thick. ellie knew something was wrong, she asked you at the bar when she noticed you spaced out, no longer paying attention to the conversation you were having. you just brushed her off with a short “i’m fine.”
ellie reaches over putting a hand on your thigh, “you sure you’re okay?” asking one more time before you went inside.
you hum, getting out the car and shutting the door with a force the sends chills up ellie’s spine. walking inside she sees your frame already heading up the stairs.
you two get ready for bed in complete silence, the air is thick, ellie almost feels suffocated. she gets in the bed expecting you to follow suit as you normally would but instead you disappear downstairs. growing tired of whatever was happening she walks down the stairs spotting you in the kitchen. it’s dark, the only source of light coming from the microwave. you’re making tea, you don’t notice her as your back faces the stairs.
“you good? you didn’t come to bed.”
you ignore her, “look, i know you’re upset but you don’t get to take it out on me, especially when you won’t tell me what’s bothering you.”
her voice is soft, it always is.
“you.”
“what?”
“you, you’re why i’m upset.” you say, barley looking at her.
“what did i do?”
a dry laugh escaping your throat, “really ellie, you don’t know?”
“i don’t, and im sorry for whatever i did to upset you.” she says, rounding the counter and coming closer to you.
“ugh you’re so oblivious it’s actually laughable. the bar, that girl was flirting with you trying to get in your pants and you just let her.”
she laughs, “ohh, this is what it’s about, you’re jealous.”
“god ellie, i’m not jealous i’m mad, you let a girl flirt with you in front of me and you basically flirted back.”
“it wasn’t a big deal, it meant nothing.”
“she didn’t know that though, it’s like you have no respect for me or our relationship.”
“it’s not a big deal, i don’t know why you’re making it a bigger deal than it needs to be.”
your voice raising as your emotions heighten, “it is a big deal ellie, you were literally flirting with another girl! and it might not be a problem to you but it is to me and i don’t want to be with someone who has no respect for me or our relationship.”
“so you wanna break up?”
“that’s not what i’m saying but if you can’t see that what you did was wrong then maybe we should.”
you walk away from her crying, you grab your shoes heading towards the door.
“where are you going?”
“a walk, i need some air.”
“i’m coming with you.”
you sigh, “i don’t want you to come ellie, i need to be alone.”
“i get that but you’re not going on a walk in the middle of the night alone.”
you stay silent.
“we don’t have to talk, you don’t even have to walk near me.”
you two are outside, it’s cold and you’re suddenly regretting the lack of clothes you have on. the shorts and t-shirt you’re wearing are making this walk even more unbearable. noticing your discomfort ellie takes her sweatshirt of and hands it to you, you take it silently.
you continue to walk until the cold becomes to much, you guys head back. y’all are approaching your home when ellie stops you.
“im sorry.”
“what?”
“i’m sorry, i was wrong to flirt with that girl and im sorry that i didn’t take your feelings seriously. you deserve the upmost respect and i wasn’t able to give that to you and for that im sorry.”
“you really hurt me ellie.” your voice barley above a whisper.
”i know, you don’t have to forgive me right away but i want you to know that i love you so much and i would never want to hurt you. i will do everything in my power to make sure you never feel pain because of me. i love you so much and im going to keep loving you, today, tomorrow, and all the days after that.”
ellie stands there as you walk up to her, wrapping your arms around her and crying into her chest.
“i’m sorry for what i said about breaking up, i never want to lose you and that’s why it hurt me so bad because it reminded of how easily i could lose you.”
ellie pulls back, arms coming off you to wipe your tears, “i love you so much, you’re not going to lose me because unfortunately for you, you’re stuck with me forever.” she says smiling.
“i love you.”
she kisses you, it’s soft and says so many things that she can’t.
“i love you more.”

I don't really understand this whole "kicking an existing fandom out of their tag".
As I understand it, there is a suggestion for an additional tag (#dponly ?) that if used correctly will show post without crossovers, just pure dp content. So it will be used by people tagging their post both dp and dponly for people who want to search or follow pure dp content using dponly tag.
The original dp tag would be still used as always. Nothing will change, there will be no kicking anyone out. Whole fandom will be there.
It's really weird to me using the phrase "kicking out existing fandom out of their tag" for sugesting adding a tag and then saying its more fair to literally kick other fans out of the tag. Because no matter how big and ooc the dpxdc is, it's still part of dp fandom.
I totally agree that what we have today is a mess. It is frustrating. Something has to change one way or another. But realistically speaking removing dpxdc content from dp tag is a bit harder than one au. Especially if, as you're saying the crossover passed a treshhold. There are people who never went to dp tag, coming drom dc fandom. They will not know the 'rule' about tagging. You can never get to everyone. Even if there was a movement and most fans will tag only dpxdc without dp tag, some would still do it as they always do.
Having another tag that will be made by and for people using it is easier to manage. It's policing yourself rather than others. I don't know if it will stick, but we should at least try.
I feel the most effective would be both using the additional tag AND for people tagging only dpxdc if they feel like it's fine with them. We will see how it turns out. I hope i haven't overstepped.
Can we please politely push for DPxDC content to not use the main DP tags?
An AU overtaking a main tag is a fairly common fandom thing to happen, and when it does happen, this is generally how it's dealt with. There's no solid guideline of when to do it, but at some point, an AU becomes so widespread that blacklisting doesn't really help.
It's also simply not fair, nor logical to shove a fandom out of its tags and into a different tag or community. What about new fans who peek into the main tag and see nothing but an AU they weren't looking for?
(This is a great place to also remind people that only the first five tags on a post get sorted site-wide. Anything after those are purely for your own organization in your own blog. So you can still tag your stuff with canon tags after the first five!)
I really think DPxDC stuff needs to be posted in a dedicated tag/community. I really don't want to have to start blocking individual users, but after waiting for... what, three years, I think? In hopes that fans would self-govern and use a bit of common courtesy I've seen in other fandoms? I'm unfortunately almost there. Not to say that this is deliberately rude! I'm not sure the fandom at large has really talked about it enough for DPxDC fans to catch on, so I don't blame any party here.
I just think this is something we could very politely ask for more. Be kind, be patient, and see if we all can't make this fandom space a bit more comfy for everyone, yeah?

365 DAYS AFTER.
It was as if no one had lived in the house up on the hill. Dust had accumulated by the old fireplace where you once shared your dreams. The old coffee table where you planned your lives were now home to chipmunks who chewed what was left. As the walls that gave you comfort chipped away into dirt gathered slowly on the floor you once danced on, you gave the house one last look as you locked the main door — locking every bit of memory you made into the decrepit, old house. “This house is such a waste,” the buyer sighed as you gave her the keys. “Have you told the other owner you sold it?” she asked.
“He agreed to it, don’t worry,” you smiled bitterly. “So, everything’s done, right?”
“Yeah, we’re all good,” the buyer said. “Do you want a picture with the house? For old times' sake?” the buyer offered.
You hesitantly agreed. Nothing’s bad with one last memory, right? You gave your phone to the buyer and posed in front of the main door. Tears were trying to escape from your eyes, but you pushed through.
You weren’t the type to dwell on the past. You knew that it would just do more harm than good. In your mind, Mingyu has probably moved on with someone new, with someone ready to marry him. Since you broke up, you and Mingyu haven’t seen each other for precisely 365 days. But since you both owned the house you sold earlier this morning, you had to give his share of the money. Did you dread seeing him? Yes. Did you want the Earth to swallow you up instead? Yes.
But you were also curious — curious to see what had changed.
Was he still wearing the necklace you gave him?
Probably not anymore.
Has he changed his hair color to brown? He always wanted to do that.
His hair is different.
Does he still love you?
Maybe, or not.
“Y/N,” a voice called you by a nickname only one knew. As you lifted your head, you saw Mingyu on the other side of the pedestrian lane. Still wearing the necklace, still the same hair color, still the same Mingyu you loved, yet still the same Mingyu you broke.
Without any hesitation, as soon as the walking green man appeared, Mingyu ran towards you as if you were still together — all smiles with a glint of hope shimmering in his eyes. “It’s starting to rain. Let’s go to my car.” Mingyu offered. Drops of rain started to come fast. You didn’t have much choice but to agree. His car was probably the last place you wanted to be in.
“I’ll just give you the cheque and call a cab,” you mumbled as you both got in the car. It was still the same — as if nothing had changed over the past year. The fuzzy dice you won at a festival were still dangling at the rear-view mirror, and the makeup holder you bought was still there, full of unused makeup you had left before you broke up. “You still kept this?” you chuckled, holding the makeup holder to check it. “Your girlfriend might not like this. You still have your exes’ stuff.”
“What girlfriend?” Mingyu asked. “I’m single.”
“Oh.”
“I haven’t had any since, you know,” Mingyu whispered. “I tried, but I also couldn’t.”
You were shocked, to say the least. You imagined him being with someone. It was easier that way. Mingyu having someone new would’ve been better for you. At least you knew you didn’t have a chance. “How about you?” Mingyu asked, his gaze softened as you played with the hem of your shirt.
“Same,” you whispered. “My sister gave me a reality check. She told me I might break the next person like I broke you if I don’t fix myself,” you laughed.
“You didn’t break me, Y/N,” Mingyu promised, his hand itching to hold yours. “You never did.”
365 DAYS BEFORE.
The lights leading up to yours and Mingyu’s home illuminated the street perfectly. As you walked on the steep hill, coming back home from work was tiring, yet relaxing at the same time. Since the house was the farthest on the street, you and Mingyu had a fantastic view of the city — twinkling city lights, honking cars, and skyscrapers kissing the clouds. “You didn’t have to fetch me from the bus stop, babe,” you laughed as Mingyu carried your bags.
“It’s a different day.” Mingyu smiled. “I wanted to be different.”
As you reached your home, you did notice something different. The lawn was freshly cut, the poinsettias had tiny ribbons on them, and there was a faint smell of coconut and vanilla inside the house. “Did you do something?” you asked as you opened the door. You were right, there was something different.
Rose petals were scattered on the floor, candles illuminated the living room, red and pink balloons were floating on the ceiling, and the four words you avoided were plastered on the wall — waiting for an answer. “Mingyu,” you whispered, shocked at the scene before you. You turned around to see Mingyu on his knee, a diamond ring on his hand.
“I always knew that I wanted to marry you, that I wanted to be your husband. Right from the start, as you walked right in front of me during first day of college, right there and then, I knew you were the one.” Mingyu spoke with clarity, his gaze never leaving yours. “Y/N, will you allow me to spend eternity with you?”
“Mingyu,” you stuttered. “I’m sorry.”
365 DAYS AFTER.
“Still, I’m sorry,” you mumbled, tears finally escaping your eyes as you released all the emotions you’ve bottled up over the past year. “I just left. Without listening to you. Without saying anything. I was just scared, Mingyu,” you said. “I was scared that we would be like my parents. I know, it’s not an excuse, but still. I’m so sorry.”
“If you told me about this, I would’ve understood, Y/N.” Mingyu fretted, finally letting his hand touch yours without any hesitation or doubts. “I love you, that’s all that matters. If you were scared about us becoming your parents, so be it. I’ll do what they didn’t do, fight for us.”
“I’m sorry,” you finally sobbed loudly, your shoulders relaxed as you tightened your grip on Mingyu’s hand. “Please forgive me.”
“You never had to say sorry, Y/N,” Mingyu said as he wiped the tears on your cheeks. “Can we start again?” Mingyu asked.
“One year was too long, Gyu,” you laughed. “We could just hit play again. I mean, it feels like nothing has changed. We’re still the same.”
As you both let your bottled-up emotions out, Mingyu grabbed your face and kissed your lips softly, a part of your face he knew all too well.
“Still the same.” Mingyu smiled.

Name: Sack
Debut: The Binding of Isaac
Welcome to one of our most Mature posts ever! Today, we discuss a creature from a rated-M game! I've wanted to talk about some Isaac creatures for a while now, but there's the glaring issue of lots of them being graphic, bloody wretches, even if it's a cartoonish art style. I figure people coming to a Mario-based blog simply don't want to see that! And that's ok.
So here is something fun for the whole family! Something that CONTAINS the family! This is a classic Egg Sac. Spiders, it seems, will never lose their association with horror and spookiness, which can very often be quite fun! They can be widely beloved AND be Halloween mascots. An ideal outcome, really. But of course, there's nothing wrong with being scared of something, as long as you don't use that as an excuse to be violent!
Anyway, Sack! Sack is the creature of the hour, and yes, it is a creature. It is a stationary enemy that grows when idle, popping out spiders when full size. When attacked, it will shrink, and if not destroyed, will begin growing again. A creature capable of physical growth (we are yet to learn whether it is capable of emotional growth)! It makes me think of the diving bell spider's silken home, shrinking as it loses oxygen.
Now, I don't think its being a creature is the REASON that Sack can grow. I would attribute that to the spiders inside! The non-living sack could be maintained by its inhabitants, a eusocial colony of spiders using their collective silk to fortify their fortress. Now hold on, did I just call Sack non-living, while still insisting that it's a creature? I did. I think it's time to introduce

Walking Sack
If you don't think a WALKING egg sac is a creature, then get out of my house! If you think it is a creature, then you can stay, but please don't take the last ice cream cookie sandwich, I was looking forward to that.
Walking Sack is just such a supremely silly thing! A spider, or spiders, made an egg sac. It contains spiders. And this one happens to have legs, and the ability to walk! Humanoid legs, not spider legs. These are the egg sac's legs. The real question is thus presented! Does the egg sac walk around on its own volition? Or is it being puppeteered by the spiders within, a bit like the real-life decoy building spider? Can both be true? This could be a whole new kind of creature that has spiders instead of a muscular system... the implications are astounding!
I also want to give a shout out to Sissy Longlegs here! She is not an enemy. She is a friend! Her flavor text is literally "She loves you". And she does love you! Every so often, she will birth a friendly spider that fights for you, without the need for any egg sac. Which makes sense, if she is, as her name implies, a harvestman rather than a true spider!
Do you think silk is an incredible material, and its chitinous users innovative artists? Because you should! If you've been taking spider silk for granted, just take a moment to think about it, and how amazing it truly is. Nature is full of infinite wonders!

God, I fucking love explaining Warframe to people who know nothing about it. Literally nothing I'm about to say is exaggerated in any way.
It's a looter-shooter with pretty cool sci-fi worldbuilding regarding a bunch of factions at war after one huge solar system-spanning empire fell and left a power vacuum in post-post-post-apocalyptic space, sure, and that's the core gameplay, but that ain't shit.
There's mining and fishing and hunting and picking up everything that isn't nailed down, Skyrim style.
You can decorate multiple spaces. Some of them get so large and detailed that people build mazes and Gundams and kaiju and city skylines.
You can skateboard Tony Hawk style and do sick tricks on Venus. And elsewhere, later.
There's Flappy Bird and Gradius and Street Fighter and Mario Kart and more games inside the game and you can play them, too.
There's Guitar Hero. It's played on space shamisen.
You think at first that you're a cool space ninja robot but then find out you're an extremely traumatized teenager dreaming they're a cool space ninja robot, which is actually how you control the cool space ninja robot.
There's a second timeline version of you with different trauma who got a little too into their favorite story to cope, but sentenced themselves to death approximately a jillion times because they got bored and hangry. They have the best one-liners in the game.
Your adoptive space mom has hella dissociative identity disorder.
You can crew a spaceship with three of your friends and engage in space battles. There was a bug where with some creative use of a motorcycle in space, a particular frame capable of eating enemies was able to eat an enemy ship with players still on board. Spatial shenanigans ensued.
The biggest evilest extraplanar entity ever might just be lonely and very bad at interacting (and justifiably butthurt that someone stole his finger). The playerbase kind of loves him and nicknamed him Wally.
One single pathetic sopping wet weasel of a man is responsible for a disproportionate amount of evil bullshit, but the playerbase kind of loves him too and nicknamed him Salad.
A horrifying infection exists that mutates flesh and machine into one terrible amalgamation but then they tried to use it to make video games and clone a boy band, mostly to save money.
The boy band clones will stalk you if you pick up their sick mixtapes.
The guy responsible for basically the entire clusterfuck is explicitly gay. His ex is an uncommonly old and prissy twink. The old man yaoi is canon.
There's actually a lot of old people in this game. And a lot of conventionally unattractive people. It's kind of refreshing actually.
You have to save the world from the Y2K bug by engaging in a dating sim with a bunch of people in a time loop to stop a reactor from blowing up, with the power of love and friendship and a whole ammo rack of really cool guns you crafted along the way.
David Bowie is also there.
Warframe sure is a game that exists!

I thought it was fascinating and and fun and would love to hear someone else's thoughts on it.
Parallels!
So I received this ask in my inbox from an anonymous human, and it has given me an excuse to talk about parallels!
Now, the OP mentions Edwin being paralleled with Wilfred, the WWI ghost, and Charles being paralleled with Hope Devlin. But someone in the tags also brings up Crystal with Esther and Niko with Mick. So we're gonna look at all the Core 4 and their parallels.
Parallels are used in narrative and storytelling for a few different reasons. Largely its to compare or contrast two points or things - two parallel scenes might show progression along an arc, two parallel characters might show diverging character arcs or converging character arcs - loss of self of one character, reclamation of identity, the fall, the rise! So many things.
Edwin to WW1 ghost - this was a fate he could've had, but the sad thing is, that even though he escaped this fate, he really didn't. WWI and WWII battlefields, like most warzones, were described as Hell. Edwin died the year the draft was initiated. Sure, he wasn't old enough yet, but he may have still ended up drafted soon enough. Edwin actual death involved him being sacrificed to Hell - figurative or literal hell, no autonomy or agency in ending up there. Edwin's parallel is essentially a reflection. Also consider that there would've been a good chance he died MIA or ended up buried as an unknown soldier. Edwin may have been lost the No Man's Land and Hell just as easily. He didn't really "escape" this parallel fate but rather endured a more twisted version of it.
Charles to Hope - again, this is a fate Charles could've had but still basically did, in a twisted way. Hope tries to leave home and is murdered before she can. Charles does leave home, off to boarding school, but still ends up murdered. You'd have to wonder if Charles saw Hope and thought, just for a second, "even if she left, nothing would've changed" because, that was the truth for him. He escaped and then didn't. The fact is, either fate would've left him murdered by someone meant to care for him and protect him, someone he was meant to trust. And I don't think Charles would've found any more justice if he'd been killed by his own father. Child abuse is grossly under investigated, and even when it is, is very under-punished. Charles's father may not have received any real punishment, if he got caught at all. If anyone even cared.
I think the big thing for me with the boys and their parallels is that they both still essentially had their fated death! But also, them having their parallel in front of them fits so well with the themes of justice and "we didn't matter". Parallels in story telling serve a few different purposes - usually around comparing and contrasting. Often its holding a character up against an older or younger version of themselves (either literal version of themself or just representative/figurative version) and saying "this is what you could become" or "this is what you could've been". With Charles and Edwin, its oddly both or kinda neither. Sorry, I should be asleep. These are what they could've been and, at the same time, what they could become - Charles could become trapped in a loop of his own pain (and he kinda does) and Edwin could be cursed to forever live through that Hell again (which, again, kinda almost happens). Edwin and Charles both "escaped" that parallel outcome, but not really.
But their parallel is less about comparison to me, and more about the theme of justice. Again, parallels can be used for different things. In the case of Edwin and Charles, I think it helps highlight a core theme of the show.
Going back to the "we didn't matter" scene (amazing scene) - Edwin says "we didn't matter, so these cases matter. They have to matter." And I think this is what their parallels more play towards. Edwin and Charles come face to face with their parallels, but they are able to give those parallel ghosts something they didn't get - some level of justice or closure. And its not perfect by any shot of the imagination. Charles and Edwin don't PREVENT tragedy, just like no one prevented theirs. Given how against taking a living client Edwin is in ep 1, it's easy to imagine they do it VERY rarely, so unless they are hired by a ghost to save someone, they are coming in AFTER the tragedy occurs. That is also the nature of a detective who usually investigates AFTER the tragedy. The boys aren't preventing their parallels but they are allowing the next part of the story to be different. They see the parallel in their cases, some as strong as Hope and Wilfred, and others as not. But they don't leave their parallel in the same place. They step in - something that wasn't done for them.
And its interesting how they interact with these parallels - or rather, with each others parallels. Charles is the one that steps in with Wilfred. He offers him closure in that moment. And this makes sense for his character - Charles is the more positive one, the more social one. It tracks he'd be the one focused on that while Edwin was focused on leaving before the blue light came. But, Charles is also the one that offers Edwin safety too, the way Edwin offered it to him. Charles, in that moment, becomes to Wilfred what Edwin was for him in the attic - paralleling the moment of his own death and the arrival of his own blue light. In the Devlin house, Charles can't act. He tries but gets stuck in the loop. The same way Edwin was stuck in his loop in Hell - unable to escape the Doll House. Edwin pulls Charles from that loop, by destroying the tape and actually, with the help of Crystal, physically pulling Charles up off the floor. This is paralleled when Charles pulls Edwin out of Hell. Because, the Devlin house, seeing his own parallel and being unable to stop it, would've been figurative Hell for Charles. So, their parallel ghosts aren't even JUST about them separate but them together and their entire afterlife purpose. Its not just "what could've been" but "what can we make it", which is not a common use for parallels, least, not that I can think of.
So yeah, the boys' parallels are AMAZING! But the post I was sent included Crystal paralleled with Esther and Niko with Tragic Mick. So, lets look at that.
Cause, DBDa has a LOT of parallels, which I love. They have scenes that parallel each other and characters that parallel each other, and its fascinating. But focus, focus on just the Core 4.
Crystal and Niko fall more into the traditional comparison type parallels - the younger character paralleled against an older version of themself and "what you could become" motif.
Crystal and Esther - I touched on them a little bit during a previous NGL where someone asked if I thought Crystal was getting through to Esther during the final fight. Crystal and Esther parallel amazingly. They both are women who were wronged - betrayed in some way by people they loved who were meant to love them. They both turned to some power to protect themselves, specifically taking the route of power to keep others from hurting them, even if it meant hurting others first. Esther is the most obvious, but Crystal does this - the mean girl mentality hurting her friends emotionally, giving people nightmares, and the whole making someone walk into traffic! Add to this that both Esther and Crystal get their power from a similar place. I mean, Crystal's is her own, but it is strengthened by her ancestors. A female ancestral source. Esther gets her from Lilith, the first woman and goddess of wronged women. They both turn to this source as some point. And this is where they branch and they do it in a way I enjoy. Because, Crystal doesn't go all the way down the same route as Esther, even though she starts down that path. She stops. Her memories are gone. She doesn't remember being hurt. She knows she has the power to get what she wants and do what she wants. And she does - she helps. She finds Becky. She finds connection! Crystal is lost and alone and could use her powers to take, but instead, she uses them to help. And when she fully reconnects with her ancestors, her first act, is to save others. I like how her's is handled, because she never has an explicit "this is who I could become" moment, which, I've seen a lot of. This idea that either the character or the audience needs to parallel to be explicitly written out for them. But the audience doesn't. We can see Crystal struggling with herself, her past actions and current decisions and how to use her power in a way that helps without hurting, including herself. When she calls on Esther's pain and shares her own, she's calling out that parallel. She had a moment like Esther, and she chose to do better. But she isn't explicitly comparing herself or saying "I don't want to become you." The sentiment and arc are there and the show manages to tell it without having to explicitly write it out. I like this, because this is more real to me. Which, yes, I'm saying "more real" while referring to a sow with ghosts and demons and witches. But, DBDa does an amazing job ay making the characters and the arcs very human. If you think about all the big scenes people talk about - they're all human scenes. Like, human connection. The big scenes are huge set pieces or explosion or huge moments of action. They're focused on the humanity of the characters. And, in our life, we will probably see parallels to ourselves, but we often don't get the chance or have the foresight to think "this is what I could become or what I could've been" - not in a moment where that change it possible. Often, its unseen things and small choices that we make that get us there. We may have the idea someone in our mind, like Crystal, but Crystal didn't change because she looked at Esther. She changed because the let herself care and she found support and connection and wanted to be better than who she was before. Crystal does parallel Esther, and we as the audience get to see what Crystal could've become, but she changed for herself and for the people she came to care about. This is why I love her parallel in the show.
And now, we have Niko. And Niko gets another fun dual parallel, like the boys, but not exactly. Niko, I think, parallels Tragic Mick very well. Tragic Mick is cursed - living an isolated life, unable to return home. Niko, when we meet her, is just the same. And neither of them chose it. Tragic Mick was "sent away" by his mother, a punishment essentially for wonder. He was curious. He wanted to know about people. But his mother was hurt by them, so she cast him out. Niko was sent away by her mother, who was grieving, and for whatever reason, didn't want Niko there. She was sent away from home, just like Mick. And once gone, her wonder led her to a field of dandelions, where she was infested and "cursed" resulting in her own isolation. Both of them didn't deserve their fate. They didn't actively cause. They were essentially punished for their own curiosity/wonder and more so, for things outside their control (Huh, both got impacted by intergenerational trauma) and had to suffer through the results. Mick remains largely isolated - constantly seeking a way back to what was. Niko ahs her moments of doing the same. She obsesses, for one episode, about getting her father back. But, when the Night Nurse says "you don't want him back like that", Niko accepts it. Its where her parallel branches off. Niko is able to embrace the pain and what comes after. Not entirely. She still ahs to endure it and get through it. But she doesn't remain in isolation. She could! After the sprites were gone, she could've remained in her room, constantly focusing on what was and how to get back to a place that's no longer there. But she doesn't! She moves forward. She finds new connection and new joy. Like Crystal, part of Niko's shift from her parallel is her own action and part is the action of others - which again plays so well into the show's themes of humanity and connection. Niko would've ended up in a tragic fate were it not for Crystal and the boys intervening. But even after their intervention, she still had to make the choices to chance. Like Crystal - the agency gave her the opportunity and support so she could make the change.
And this brings me to the second parallel for Niko - the Principal. Who is Niko. So, maybe not a parallel, but I'm counting it. The Principal is great because she is what Niko becomes - keeping part of her parallel from Tragic Mick in the "you never know when the good you do will come back around" but also having her own path. The Principal is the parallel that happened because Niko found connection and now she continued the work of the agency from a different side - still helping, in some way, in her way. Because we have the Principal, which we know is Niko, while also having Tragic Mick who is Niko's parallel, we oddly enough get a complete parallel storyline! Yes, Crystal has turned off the path that Esther went down, but something could push her back. And the boys, well, they already ARE their parallel. But Niko, we get a glimpse at this more tragic potential future and instead we see what she does become - the Principal. We don't know how she got there, but we know she held pieces of her journey - quoting Mick, pausing at the sight of her name, using her "reading comprehension" to help, being brave and wanting to find closure for others. Niko becomes the Principal, in part, due to her parallel arc with Mick.
The parallels in this show do an amazing job of highlighting the individual characters while also bringing out the overarching themes of the show - humanity, connection, justice, "the good you do", etc. Thank you so much for the ask! I hadn't considered the Core 4 parallels with other characters before!!! So this was a fun analysis to do when I should've been sleeping.

The thing that gets me about that one post is where they said Snape *needs* to be straight and white because his reasons for bullying Harry are petty. Like, what does that even mean?? If James truly bullied Snape because he was already a blood purist and death eater like they claim, then what does it matter if he's black and gay? If it really was just a rivalry over Lily's attention, then there shouldn't be a problem right? Why are Snape's actions petty if he's white and straight, but somehow more legitimate when he has a different race and sexual orientation? Is pettiness only a white, straight trait? Are other people not allowed to be petty? Are white, straight people not allowed to be traumatized by bullying? They can only acknowledge it was traumatizing if its done to a marginalized group? Lmao I need their thought processes explained to me.
Yeah, so, there’s something really messed up going on with all this, because what they’re saying has like two layers, two different readings, and both are pretty disturbing if you actually stop and think about it. On the one hand, what they seem to be implying — without saying it directly but definitely suggesting it — is that someone who isn’t white and/or straight can’t do bad things. Like, that’s the takeaway. According to this weird logic, if you make Snape queer and racialized, suddenly nothing he does matters. He could literally be Voldemort, he could turn into a serial killer like Ted Bundy, and somehow he’d still be… untouchable or something, because that’s the unspoken rule. Since he belongs to a historically oppressed group, his actions automatically stop being questionable. And that’s incredibly dangerous, not just because it’s essentialist to the core, but because it basically means you're assigning ethical or moral capacity based on who you sleep with or how you look in the mirror. It's completely fucking absurd on every level.
But the second point is even more fucked up. What’s being implied —almost unconsciously but very clearly— is that if a white, straight, working-class person like Snape is humiliated, bullied, stripped in public, and subjected to systematic psychological abuse during his teenage years by a bunch of rich, powerful kids —because let’s remember, James and Sirius weren’t exactly struggling— then suddenly it doesn’t matter. Apparently, according to these people, that kind of abuse only counts if it happens to someone who fits into a particular identity category they’ve decided is worthy of empathy. In other words, trauma is only valid if the victim is part of an oppressed group. But if the victim is a white, straight dude, then he had it coming, right? Then it’s not bullying, it’s not trauma, it’s not something that could scar you for life or mess you up psychologically.
And that’s where it all becomes a complete mess. Because if we start from the idea that only certain people have the right to be hurt, to suffer, to have trauma, or to react badly to the things that happen to them, then what we’re doing is accepting a worldview that’s incredibly dangerous, one where morality is distributed based on identity categories instead of actions or context. And I’m sorry, but that’s not social justice, and it’s not fighting oppression. That’s just swapping one arbitrary system for another equally unfair one, just dressed up as progressivism.
And finally, what pisses me off the most about all of this is how deeply dehumanizing it is. Because denying someone the capacity to do wrong just because they’re not white or straight is just as absurd as denying someone the capacity to suffer because they are. Both things reduce people to symbols, to archetypes, to puppets in some ideological narrative. And that, to me, is the most dehumanizing thing of all. Because every single one of us has the right to be complex, contradictory, vulnerable and yes, sometimes petty or even cruel. There’s no identity that automatically makes you a better person, and there’s no skin color or orientation that exempts you from doing horrible things or from experiencing horrible things.
So yeah, I’d love for these people to explain their thought process, because either they haven’t thought it through at all, or —if they have— then where it leads is kind of terrifying.

Chaos Trio+Nico headcanons! (Will, Cecil, and Lou. I guess itd be chaos squad or something if Nico is part of it now???)
When Nico opened up about some stuff that happened to him, Cecil first response was to make a joke about it.
Despite it having been over Nicos' literal trauma, the joking did actually help a bit. Made it less awkward.
In my previous post, I said I headcanon Lou with a fascination for dead bodies and touching them, and I like to think that Will has had to literally throw her over his shoulder and force her away from dead animals.
Cecil is one of those people who likes watching fire, so I like to think that he carries lighters with him for when he's bored, and that Nico has one in his jacket pocket for if Cecil forgets his.
I headcanon that Hecate cabin has an area for alchemy and potion making, and I feel like Lou hyperfixates on it a lot, so she'll like- forget eating and sleeping is a thing, so Cecil sometimes breaks in in order to drag her away.
Lou has really cold hands, so she likes sneaking up behind Will and pressing her hand to his neck to startle him.
Will cusses the most out of all of them, and despite popular opinion, Nico cusses the least. However, onetime they were out of camp and someone said something really fucked and racist to Lou, and Nico went off on the longest most insulting tangent they've ever heard.
Like- Lou herself was like 'Whatever -_-' but Nico heard it, and he turned around so quick you'd think he broke his neck,
On that note, Nico has the most creative insults. He will insult you in the most creative, beautiful, most thought out ways, that at that point, your soul is gone. You are deceased. Rip, I'll bring flowers to your funeral.
Cecil has some of them written down for future use.
The first time Nico let them hug him, Cecil nearly broke his ribs with how tight it was, while Lou did that thing where she just keeps her arms to herself and just sits there for a second before pulling away.
Cecil is one of those people really sensitive to caffeine, where one cup has him completely bugging out. He spent an hour talking to Will about blackjack
Despite Will having absolutely zero interest in blackjack, he sat there during that hour and did his best to actually follow along
Lou is a lot more apparent with the whole 'Hecate kids have screws loose' thing, and none of them question it. They don't see need to, it's just how she is. Nothing wrong with it.
Nico learned how to do decent protective braids for Hazel, so sometimes he'll help Lou with hers.
Hades cabin sleepovers.
They started cause Nico mentioned that when Hazel was gone, the cabin felt a little dull. So now sometimes they randomly come over and sleep there.
Sometimes they'll lay a shit ton of blankets (brought by Lou,) and make a floor bed, and they all fall asleep.
Cecil onetime bought Will those lightsaber chopsticks
That's all I got for now. Most of these suck, but fuck it, I have free will and I'll die eventually

How does it do that when you have zero idea what we even believe in? You tell me the violence I suffered doesn't give me a free pass to "discriminate" but exactly what have I said that's even discriminatory? Seriously, name a single thing I've said here that's discriminatory. I'm waiting.
All I've said is that transfems do not have the right to harm us and get away with it. Exactly how is that non-inclusive? Exactly how does that "ignore" intersex people?
Also... "my binary"??? What are you even talking about. Can you please respond to something I've actually said?? I'm literally NB, GNC, and being worked up for intersex conditions. I literally didn't HAVE a proper puberty as a teen. I don't appreciate you passively misgendering me OR trying to speak over me as if I'm some ignorant outsider. I've been here for decades, hell, I've probably been trans longer than you've been ALIVE. Where do you get off putting these putrid words in my mouth?
Literally NOWHERE did I say transmascs need RF to save them. What I DID say is that if the trans movement keeps drawing dumb lines in the sand while allowing transfems to abuse transmascs scott free, there will be more of us RF trans people. That is a fact.
The trans community hates vulnerable minorities way more than RFs ever did, especially when it cannot even hold space for those harmed by it, or hold those who cause this level of harm accountable. RFs do Not want to erase trans people, and you'd know that if you actually read anything we DO believe in, instead of listening to the lies of the trans community that serve only to make you feel like you have no other option than to continue receiving gender-affirming abuse. Seriously, go read some Dworkin and tell me what you think. If you're brave enough.
It's never, "Who did that to you? We need to get them out of our community". It's always, "Suck it the fuck up and keep taking the abuse, because it doesn't happen often enough for me to personally care about it". You're a fucking fool if this is how you treat people, and yet you somehow think you've got the moral highground.
Trans women that mock us, degrade us, or try to trigger our dysphoria ARE NOT ALLIES. If that hurts trans people, then they need to stop siding with people who ACTUALLY HARM US instead of making feminists the scapegoat.
You don't have to tolerate being treated like that just because the community has lied to you and made you feel like nobody else will love or accept you for who you are.
Also, I literally have several transfem friends, one of which literally got me into RF LMAO. They are sick and tired of porn-addicted behavior and sexual harassment, and that being a part of transfem culture when it never should've even an acceptable benchmark. One of my transfem friends regularly comments on how dysphoric and uncomfortable she is in transfem spaces because of this consistent trend of NOT HOLDING ABUSERS ACCOUNTABLE. That shit literally HURTS TRANS WOMEN TOO. But for the record, I shouldn't fucking need a trans womans endorsement in order for my criticism on a community I literally belong to, to matter.
Hell, since posting my 1st reply, I've suddenly had a dump of 40+ notifications of new interactions with my blog overnight, with all but your response being solely positive, and the majority of the accounts belonging to trans people. People scrolling so far back on my blog that they reach posts from literal months ago, and then following me. Clearly, what I'm saying is resonating with others. Tell me why that is if I'm simply being "discriminatory".
You are just being so ignorant right now. This entire narrative you're trying to build even about me is built on nothing but assumptions and lies to the extent that you have even misgendered me. But you're the morally superior one? Yeah, right. Try again.
uvb76fan is posting in this tag talking about all the ways trans men have it “worse”, while misrepresenting the statistic she is citing. most likely banking on no one looking closer or reading the links.
this person is a terf. if you search trans on her blog it is immediately clear, i am not using terf loosely she is literally actually a terf.
we cannot let our weariness at not being heard by some of our community push us into the sick and malformed arms of transmisogyny and radical feminism, these people do not care about us at all, they are trying to harm every single one of us. our solidarity with trans women, men and people as whole should cause us to slam hard on the breaks. no matter how many trans women you see being antitransmasculine it does not mean that there are not so many more who are our genuine allies, do not let the algorithm pushing hateful person after hateful person your way skew your understandings. the transphobes want dissent, they want us to tear each other apart. we do not need to contribute to the harm to have ours lessened. (causing harm to a vulnerable minority is never morally correct no matter what got you there in the first place. also straight up trans women are easy to love and are inherently deeply deserving of community solidarity, and fascism (which terfs are) should not have any appeal whatsoever no matter how hurt you are but i digress.)
on another note: we cannot and must not reactively take on the mentalities of trans rad fems, no gender in the trans community needs to be the most oppressed to be taken seriously and given respect in our community, the equality in our suffering is immense and must be acknowledged without each group needing to prove we are the most victimized to get the care and community support we need. this is harmful no matter who is doing it. we absolutely must nip this kind of thinking in the bud.
push back on terfs in this tag everywhere you can, and if there is a reason you cannot comment or reblog to shut them down, block them on sight.

9-1-1 s9 ep 1: “Fault Line”
To Preface:
This is a long ass post that I am putting under a cut for ease if scrolling by if you don’t feel like reading. This is literally just a fun little outline of how I would write the season opener if I were showrunner- obviously it’s not going to be perfect, and if it were ever a real episode there would absolutely be edits made- this is just me having fun.
For context this is set about three-ish months after the end of s8, and would take place in late September-ish in my head. It does end on a cliffhanger since it’s only the opening episode of the opening disaster, but I might be compelled to write outlines for the other two (idk tho so im not gonna promise anything)
and last but not least: some actions/words from some of these characters might come off as cold/harsh, but this is literally not even half a year after bobby died so like- none of them have passed the grieving stage yet and are still not in great mental states- in my head a lot if the initial conflicts between characters that would not usually be fighting would be resolved by the third episode, but since this is only the first of three, those conflicts will not be resolved here. again- this will end on somewhat of a cliffhanger, but it’s nothing like drastic; just a basic “oh shit that just happened” ending
anyway if you’re still here, i hope you enjoy my long ass post :))) <3
9x01: “Fault Line”
We open on Athena staying in May’s apartment with her while she hunts for a new place. Athena goes through her morning routine, and we see that she’s on depression meds. Her morning seems to go well, but May is definitely Concerned™️ about her, even if she doesn’t say anything. Athena arrives at her precinct, greeting everyone, going about her morning, changing into her uniform. She goes out on patrol, and we see her chase a few bad guys, run a few tickets, just casual stuff, nothing crazy, until all of a sudden as she’s driving- what she thinks is a small earthquake hits and she pulls off to the side of the road to make sure everyone is okay. After a few moments, she hears another rumbling sound- she thinks it might be an aftershock, but when she turns around she sees a new highrise building collapsing, filling the streets around them with rubble as she and a few other pedestrians enter a storefront to avoid the rubble.
Cue: “9-1-1” intro screen
“A Few Days Ago”
Athena is in therapy with Frank, who is asking her how she’s doing. She is obviously masking her grief, telling him that she’s moved past it and has to focus on doing her job. He tells her that there is nothing wrong with still processing her grief over losing her husband, that no one would blame her for taking time. She tells him that the last time she lost someone, she held onto that grief for 30 years before she was able to let it go and it hardened her, and that she didn’t want to do the same with Bobby. Frank then asks how the 118 is doing in the wake of Bobby’s death.
Cut to, the 118 responding to a call. Chim is acting captain, Buck and Ravi are on heavy rescue, and and Eddie is partnered with Hen as a paramedic. Immediately, something is off- everyone is working well, doing their job, but the energy has shifted. Initially it seems to be because Bobby is gone, but as the rescue goes- a small sinkhole- we see that Eddie is pointedly ignoring Buck, while Hen and Chim are being snippy with each other- poor Ravi just stressed and confused as usual. After a few cliche “will they save the day” moments, they do save the day and begin to pack up the scene; this is where we really see the awkward tension in the group.
Commercial Break
They return to the station where it’s the end of their shift. Buck asks Eddie how Chris is enjoying high school so far, and Eddie gives him a short, clipped answer before walking away. Buck is left looking like a sad dog, before he turns to see Chim making his way to the captain’s office. He calls out for him and asks if he wants Buck to record Jee’s dance recital. Chim tells him that there’s no need, and that there’s no way he’s missing Jee’s first recital. Ravi comments on the fact that Chim looks exhausted before he and Buck walk out of the station together.
Athena gets home to find May on the phone with someone- she tells them that her mom just got home and that she needs to go, but she’ll text them later. Athena asks who that was and May tells her that it was just a friend. She asks Athena how therapy went, and Athena tells her “it was therapy.” May then asks how Athena is adjusting to her new medication, and Athena tells her that she’s adjusting fine. May asks if she wants to talk about it and Athena deflects, changing the subject to May’s senior year of college.
Hen gets home to find Karen alone in the house. She asks where Denny and Mara are, and Karen tells her that they both had sleepovers planned since it was a weekend. Hen looks a little dejected, and Karen asks her what’s wrong. Hen tells her that she feels like with extracurriculars and sleepovers, she feels like they never see the kids anymore. Karen tells her that their kids are growing up, and that they have their own personalities and lives. Hen sighs and tells her that she’s not sure she’s ready to acknowledge that her kids are growing up, and Karen tells her that their kids will be in college, and they still won’t be ready for them to grow up. Karen then says that there’s one good thing about the kids not being there though, Hen asking her what that is before Karan grabs her hand and pulls her towards their bedroom.
While they wait for Jee’s recital to start, Buck is venting to Maddie about how Eddie isn’t speaking to him and he doesn’t understand why. Maddie tells him that maybe Eddie’s busy with Chris starting high school, and having to shift to being a paramedic while Chim is intirum captain. Buck counters with the fact that Eddie would have asked for help if that were the case, but that he hasn’t. He tells Maddie that he’s been trying to give Eddie and Chris space to get settled after moving back but that this feels like he’s being iced out. Maddie suggests that maybe Eddie feels a bit like Buck’s been ignoring him, spending more time with Ravi lately, but Buck disagrees saying that he still tries to talk to Eddie, so he can’t possibly feel like Buck is ignoring him. Before they can continue, Jee’s recital starts and they look around for Chim who hasn’t gotten there yet.
Cut to the fire house where Chim has passed out in the captain’s chair, being woken up by the B shift captain, telling him it’s now almost 8. Chim panics, rushing out of the firehouse to his car, speeding through LA to get to Jee’s school, only to find that the recital had finished.
Commercial Break
Maddie arrives at Dispatch the next day, Josh asking how Jee’s recital went, and Maddie tells him it went fine, but that Chim was beating himself up over missing it. Maddie tells Josh that she tried to make sure Chim knew it wasn’t the end of the world, but that there was no consoling for him. She tells him that Chim took the kids out for the day to make it up to himself. Her attention is caught by Linds informing a caller that a noise complaint is not a valid reason to dial 9-1-1, before she hangs up and looks at Maddie and Josh telling them that another person called about the new luxury high rise being built. Maddie says that the site is right next to the 118 and that Chim says that the construction can be heard all day during a shift and that it’s hard to concentrate on anything because of how loud it is.
Buck knocks on Eddie’s door, waiting for him to answer. Eddie opens the door and Buck notices he’s dressed to go out. He asks what Eddie is doing and Eddie tells him that he’s having lunch with Karen and Hen. Buck asks if Chris is doing anything and Eddie tells him that Chris is at his friends’ for the weekend. Buck tells Eddie that he had hoped they might be able to hang out that day, to which Eddie says, maybe some other time, before pushing past him and leaving Buck alone on the doorstep.
Athena drives by her and Bobby’s old house, watching from her patrol car as the family who bought the house leave for some sort of weekend activity. She sits there for a moment before silently driving away.
Eddie is at the Wilsons’ for lunch- the three of them laughing over something as Karen sets a tray of sandwiches down on the table. The conversation shifts to Chris starting high school. Eddie tells them it’s been an adjustment, that the house is a bit emptier without him there all the time since he has so many clubs he’s a part of. Hen tells Eddie he needs to get out more. Karen scoffs and jokingly calls Hen a hypocrite before telling Eddie about thier conversation from the night before about not beign ready for kids to grow up. Eddie attests to the reality of that and says he still wishes he could carry Chris around in his arms and play legos with the kid, but that that’s the beauty of growing up- they become their own person and that they need the freedom to explore themselves and learn who they are; adding on that he knows from personal experience how not getting that opportunity can mess with you. Karen points out Eddie’s words of wisdom and he shrugs, saying therapy has helped him and that all that time alone leaves him with a lot of time to think. He then pivots the conversation back to Hen’s feelings on her empty nest syndrome and tellls her that if she had accepted the captain position she wouldn’t feel this way. Hen deadpans that she’s already pissed at Chim, jokingly warning Eddie not to piss her off too.
May and Buck are getting coffee- Buck thanking her for agreeing to meet with him. May jokes that she misses their brother-sister coffe dates to which Buck roles his eyes but smiles all the same. Buck notices May texting someone with a smile on her face, asking who she’s talking to, her telling him it’s none of his business. Buck says “so there is someone” before May deflects by asking if he’s been seeing anybody lately. Buck tells her that he’s taking a break from dating- taking Maddie’s advice and learning to be alone before he tries to start another relationship. He explains that he’s always felt like he’s always grown attached to his partners too quickly, often romanticizing what they had to the point where he thought his feelings were stronger than they were, when in reality he didn’t really ever like his exes deep down except for taylor and abby. He says that by learning to be alone he’s training himself not to latch on to his partner. May tells him that she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with being attached to your partner as long as it’s genuine and built off of true commitment and trust- not just immediately throwing yourselves at each other. saying that that love needs to grow snd build before going all in. That she learned that from her mom and Bobby. Buck asks her how she’s doing and May tells him that she’s just worried for her mom. Buck tells her that he’s there for her if she needs him, and May thanks him. May gets a notification on her phone- Buck joking that it’s her someone before she tells him no- that she has Athena on Find My Friends now, and that Athena was just at their old house.
Commercial Break
Athena gets home and May asks her how her day was. Athena tells her it was a slow shift and that she’s hoping that the next day might be a little more exciting. May stays quiet for a moment, Athena asking if she’s okay before May tells her that she knows Athena went by the house today. Athena asks her what she means and May reminds her that after she left for college, they shared their locations with each other on Find My Friends, and that she still gets notifications for the old house, and she got one that Athena was there. She asks what she was doing and Athena deflects telling her that she responded to a call on the street and that’s all- May of course sees right through this, telling her that she’s not upset that Athena was there, it’s that Athena is clearly not okay and that she wants her to be honest with her. Athena argues that she is being honest, but May tells her she knows she’s not- that she knows her mom well enough to know that’s not true. That she misses Bobby too and she’s still not over it- that she doesn’t think she ever will be- but that bottling it up and ignoring the problem will just make it worse, telling Athena that she’s already lost one parent, she can’t lose another. Athena stays silent, turning and leaving the room as she goes to her own room- tears streaming down her face.
Maddie gets home from her shift to find Chim sitting on the couch, watching Jee’s recital on their tv, looking dejected. Maddie asked how his day was and Chim responded by saying that Jee asked why he missed her recital. Maddie sympathetically tries to tell him that she’ll understand when she’s a little older that Chim’s job is important. Chim cuts her off by saying that his job is not more important than his daughter- that he’s already missing so much of Jee’s kindergarten events, and that Robbie is growning so quickly that Chim feels like he blinks and the baby’s grown two sizes. He tells Maddie that he had an absent father, and that he doesn’t want his kids to feel thst same way. Maddie tries to tell him that they won’t have an absent father, but Chim scoffs telling her that that’s what he feels like. He storms off, leaving Maddie alone on the couch- Jee’s recital still playing as she starts to cry.
We then see the same montage of Athena getting ready for work, only this time after she leaves May’s apartment we cut to
A shift arriving at the firehouse. Ravi is filling Buck in on something that happened to him on their days off, Eddie side-eyeing them as he silently makes his way into the locker room. Ravi greets Eddie, getting nothing but a small noncommittal “hey” in return. Ravi doesn’t think anything of it, going back into his story but Buck cuts him off asking Eddie what his problem is. Eddie looks at him- shock, anger, hurt on his face- asking what Buck just said.
Cut to Hen sighing as she sits down in the loft. Chim is silently sitting at the table, eating his breakfast. She comments on the weekend being rough, saying that the kids were all out of the house and she was bored out of her mind with no one there. Chimney scoffs at that, Hen asking what’s the matter.
We see interspersed Athena’s montage of calls.
Buck repeats himself asking what Eddie’s problem is.
Chim tells Hen that he missed Jee’s first dance recital because he was so bone tired from all the paperwork he had to do that he fell asleep in the officd.
Eddie squares up and says Buck is his problem. Ravi asking no one in particular “uhh what’s going on” but he gets ignored.
Hen asks why Chim is catching an attitude with her, and he snaps- telling her its her fault for not accepting the job that everyone assumed she wanted having been interim captain for before that now he’s having to donit and is missing important milestones in his kids’ lives while Hen is sitting still home apparently twiddling her thumbs.
Eddie tells Buck that ever since he moved back with Chris, it’s like Buck doesn’t even exist anymore- that he moved out without even mentioning it to Eddie, he stopped coming over, and that Chris keeps asking what he did wrong. Buck tells Eddie that he’s not ignoring them to which Eddie tells him that it sure feels like it.
Hen, getting defensive, tells Chim that he’s being unfair, but Chim snaps back that it’s unfair that he’s missing his kids’ lives because he’s doing what should be Hen’s job.
At that moment the small earthquake hits. Chim jumps to action telling everyone to standby and be prepared for calls to come rolling in any moment. Hen grabs Chim’s arm, stopping him from walking away. She asks if Chim really blames her for all of it, and Chim frowns, telling her that he doesn’t see who else’s fault it would be.
Just then, the station begins rumbling again- Chim saying “aftershock” before they start hearing screams from outside, followed by large crashes. Chim looks out on of the windows and notices the sight if rubble falling from the sky- realizing what must be happening. He shouts out over the firehouse for everyone to take cover right as a wave if debris and rubble crashes into the fire house.
After a few moments, Hen and Chim help each other to their feet- asking if each other is alright before assessing the damage. Chim mutters “holy shit” under his breath as the camera turns around to show almost the entirety of the engine bat filled with rubble- burrying the engine, ladder truck, and rig under layers if debris. Buck, Eddie and Ravi are all unharmed and trapped in the locker room while a few other A shift members are scattered around the firehouse with small cuts and bruises. Hen says “that’s not good” before the scene cuts to black.

"Carlos & George: The Paddock Parents"
(a deeply emotional sitcom starring 20 drivers, a thousand problems, and two overworked guardians just trying to hold the family together)
Scene 1: Carlos, Mid-Interview
He’s radiant. That post-quali glow. Hair: windswept perfection. Smile: soft. Generous. Distractingly attractive. The interviewer’s barely functioning.
Carlos:
“We found good pace today, the car felt balanced—”
GEORGE ENTERS.
Storming in like a PTA mom who just got a call from the principal.
He’s holding his phone and a folder and what appears to be a partially unwrapped protein bar.
“Sorry—have you seen what your son just tweeted?!”
Carlos doesn’t even blink.
“Which one?”
George: shakes the phone dramatically
“Oscar. He posted a photo from the gravel with the caption ‘vibes.’ VIBES, Carlos.”
Carlos:
“Did he crash?”
George: “He was nudged.”
Carlos: “He’s fine.”
George: “HE’S IN CROCS.”
Carlos, turning to the interviewer:
“Excuse me. I have to go speak to my son.”
Scene 2: The GPDA Lunch Table
Carlos and George are at their usual spot. Two plates. Two iPads. Six documents. Twelve complaints.
Enter Yuki, sulking.
Yuki:
“Max yelled at me.”
George:
“What did you do?”
Yuki:
“Nothing! Maybe. I might’ve taken a shortcut through his garage.”
George:
“Yuki.”
Carlos, calmly handing him a juice box:
“Did you say sorry?”
Yuki:
“I brought him gum.”
Carlos:
“That’s fine.”
George:
“No, it’s not—he threw a wrench.”
Carlos:
“But the gum is nice.”
Yuki beams. George seethes. Carlos wins.
Scene 3: Mid-Driver Briefing
A rookie is shaking. Literally trembling in his chair. The stewards are harsh today.
Carlos leans over from behind, squeezes the kid’s shoulder. George silently slides him a pen and paper.
On it, Carlos has written:
“Breathe. You’re not alone. We’re here.”
And George has added:
“Also never say ‘I thought it was legal.’ Say ‘I was reacting instinctively to evolving conditions.’”
Scene 4: Social Media Fiasco
George barges into Carlos’s room, phone in hand.
“DID YOU SEE WHAT CHARLES POSTED?”
Carlos:
“He looked cute?”
George:
“He’s in the medical centre, Carlos. He fainted because he skipped breakfast.”
Carlos:
“Oh. That’s less cute.”
Cut to 15 minutes later. Carlos is seen in the Ferrari motorhome with a bag of pastries, forcing Charles to sit down and eat while patting his head.
George is in the background, arms crossed, whispering:
“You spoil them.”
Carlos:
“They’re ours.”
Scene 5: Strategy Debrief
The debrief is chaos. Everyone’s yelling about tyres and track limits and “who moved my brake bias settings.”
George is frustrated.
Carlos is... braiding Lando’s hair.
George:
“Can you focus?”
Carlos:
“He was stressed.”
George:
“So you’re parenting in the middle of a tyre war??”
Carlos, smiling:
“Yes.”
Scene 6: A Driver is in Trouble
Zhou spun in FP3. The car’s a mess. He’s gutted.
Camera catches him sitting on the floor of the garage, shoulders shaking.
Then—Carlos.
Sits beside him. Doesn’t speak. Just lets Zhou lean against him like a kid needing safety.
Minutes later, George storms in:
“Did you file the form for the damaged sensor?” “Who’s getting fined?” “Does he have electrolytes?”
Carlos just pats Zhou’s back.
“Let him breathe. We’ll fix the rest.”
And George... exhales.
Sits on the other side.
They stay there. One shoulder each. One calm. One panicked. But always there.
Cut To: Rookies in Confessional
Oscar:
“Carlos tells you it’s okay to mess up. George makes sure you learn from it.”
Liam:
“If I had a nightmare about stewards, I’d call Carlos.”
Isack:
“If I skipped a meal, George would appear in my kitchen like a food-delivering ghost.”
Scene 7: “Your Son” Wars
Carlos, storming into the Williams motorhome:
“George. Your son hit a foam barrier and blamed the wind.”
George:
“Absolutely not. That is your son. I raised them to take responsibility.”
Carlos:
“He used my media phrases and your hand gestures.”
George, sighing:
“Fine. He’s both ours.”

okay so I have some niche family issues I need to talk through about potentially not being invited to my half sister's 150-guest, $60,000 venue wedding, so if anybody has advice feel free to drop it in the chat lmfao because I'm pretty much at a loss
historical context: my mother and father divorced when I was 2 years old, my mom retained full custody of me and my dad had visitation rights every OTHER weekend. my dad remarried when I was about 5 and had two more girls with his second wife, who I was semi frequently around as children. my dad physically separated from his second wife in 2015 and my relationship with her and the girls has been somewhat strained since then because of familial tension and me living with my own mother an hour away from the rest of them. now my half-sister is turning 26 this summer and getting married in March 2026. I have not seen her since 2021, and she lives in a different state from me now. but I do follow her on Instagram and interact with her posts; she does NOT follow me, by her own choice, nor engage with me on social media.
--so: last night.
called my dad to catch up (read: have not spoken to him in about 2 months) and over the course of our frankly underwhelming conversation he reveals that my sister sent out her wedding invitations two weeks ago, and he received his last week. bear in mind, there's only about 40 miles of distance between me and where my father live in the same state. so, when I expressed to him that I did not receive an invitation to this large and extravagant wedding, he acts casually bemused and tells me that perhaps it got lost in the mail. he offers no other solution or explanation for this. when I said that in ALL HONESTY I was 50-50 on whether my sister would even extend an invitation to me because she doesn't even really talk to me, he tells me that I'm 'making up drama' and then the conversation pretty much ends there. I have not even been made aware of this wedding other than an engagement post on Instagram from April of this year, and my dad's sister and my dad himself informing me of the engagement. nobody else has spoken to me about it.
my question for you all is, basically....what would YOU do in this situation? should I sit around and continue to wait for an invitation? should I do nothing at all? should I reach out to somebody and ask to be invited, or express concern that an invitation was lost in the mail? like I literally have no idea what to do. but I feel like a fucking idiot with my hands tied because it also seems clear my sister doesn't give a shit about me and wouldn't really care if I went or not. I mean, I guess therein lies the answer, but why would she invite my dad's extended family members and specifically exclude me? I haven't done anything to hurt her or be cruel, though I have obviously been 'absent' from her adult life. for obvious physical constraints, but also mostly out of my own shame and horror because of my failures as a person, and us having nothing in common other than a father.
my sister isn't even 26 and already makes over $100,000 a year for some added context, lmfao. so I don't know if she thinks I'm a loser or what. I wish I understood what was happening here so I could navigate it better.

All the claims about Mikayla from save a fox abusing and torturing animals are so easy to debunk. It didn't take long to figure out what was true(literally nothing) and what was all lies and people's opinions(literally everything).
That Google Drive document? The first few sentences is about how fur farms aren't inherently bad.
Do people not know how non-profits work? Do people not understand how the laws that pertain to non-profits and rescue organizations work?
For example, the claim that Mikayla spent donations on buying foxes and tattoos? Mikayla was never a member of the board, which means that she didn't have access to any of the bank accounts. Same thing about Ethan buying a $400,000 car. He's not a board member either. And he doesn't buy new cars. He likes fixing up old cars(buying parts with his own money) which is his hobby. He posts about it frequently on his Facebook page.
Furthermore, every penny donated and every penny spent is kept track of. All Non-profits and rescues get audited every year.
The fact that SaveAFox Rescue has a fur farm license? SaveAFox has to have a fur farm license, it's State law.
The people saying that all of the foxes need to be taken away and rehabilitated? Rehabilitated to where? All of those foxes were born in captivity, either on a fur farm or bred and kept as a pet. It's illegal to release them into the wild.
The claim that SaveAFox is a hoarder? Every wild animal at SaveAFox has a file. A copy of which is sent to the Federal Government. It's the law. You know what else is law? Inspections. SaveAFox gets inspected like every other animal rescue.
The complaint that SaveAFox charges $350 for people surrender their wild animals? Not uncommon. My local SPCA does that too. I'm not saying that it's good or bad, just that SaveAFox is far from the only animal rescue organization that does that.
The complaint that animals sometimes get injured at SaveAFox? Even though the animals were born in captivity, they are still wild animals and have their wild instincts. Conflicts occasionally happen. You can minimize those conflicts but you can't completely prevent it unless every fox is isolated from one another.
SaveAFox not accepting female Red foxes? That is actually to prevent conflict. Females are the dominant sex of the red fox species and you can't randomly stick 2 unrelated females together and hope for the best. You can get 2 males to get along far easier than you can get 2 females to get along. That's why Sophie and Esmae for example, are in 2 different yards. If they ever met, they will tear each other to pieces. So because of the dominant nature of the female foxes, SaveAFox can only have so many. It's not sexism, it's biology.
Mikayla having an onlyfans account? Mikayla usually just posted videos of her pole dancing or doing yoga in leotards. Mikayla was never completely naked, but occasionally would post videos of her being nude but with her sexy bits covered by the rescue snake she'd occasionally pose with. People got upset about that especially and considered it to be exploitation of the animals.
The jackal puppy breaking its leg? Animals break their legs from roughhousing, playing and running constantly, especially babies. I can send you a video of a cheetah breaking her leg from running in a zoo. It happens.
Once again, every single claim has zero video evidence of any intentional animal abuse or torture from Mikayla and is literally just speculation.
Anyone spreading these lies, such as @is-the-owl-video-cute, and @whats-this-mustelid as well as their followers and defenders who blindly followed the worda of randoms needs to he ashamed of themselves. You've caused a lot of unnecessary suffering in this world. Be ashamed.
Also, she's already fucking dead. What more do you cowards want. Jesus christ.
