the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

When you're just casually writing, far enough along that you're not encountering any major issues, and then you come across the kind of plot hole where you have to close the doc and stare at a wall as you rework the entire plot

What to do with an excess of shame?

this might not be what you're looking for, but the only thing i feel i can really say to this is volunteer work; soup kitchen, tutoring, animal shelter, youth groups, whoever needs extra hands in your community. i'm not saying it's a cure-all; shame comes from different places and needs different approaches depending on why it's there--but it's also something that feeds on itself at your expense: it's a one-sided narrative (monologue might be more precise) about who you are or who you think you are, & maybe it looks like a locked room w nowhere to go but it isn't. the door might be shut but unlocked. there are windows. crack one open & ask if someone needs your help collecting their groceries 🤍

one of the issues of being obsessed with death note is that it’s not comforting

like when i was having a panic attack in the hospital they were like what’s your favorite show can you watch that and no! i don’t think seeing a teenager commit mass murder is gonna help! i believe it would make the anxiety worse and id cry harder!

intrigued by the idea that jayce dooms viktor to become the herald because he loves viktor too much to let him die. but mage!viktor could also choose not to save jayce from the storm in order to save himself from that fate, and yet he too loves too much to let go of jayce. endless cycle only broken by their choice to go together.
