I heard your broadcast about dealing with Sentinels.

My personal strategy is to whip out my Terrain Manipulator, dig a hole, then patch it back up. This has worked really well for me! Except for when it comes to some very strange, sort of glow-y, Sentinels that always seem to find me anyways...

Just a warning, some planets have Sentinels that are quite... aggressive. On every planet, Sentinels will get angry when you pick up certain things, like that orb you found. The planets with particularly aggressive Sentinels will attack you on sight. It doesn't matter what you have or haven't done.

If the Sentinels are right behind you, dig out some twists and turns. They aren't as smart as you might think. Their lack of object permanence is your best friend.

Hi, Casio! Thanks for the advice, that sounds a lot better than shooting off into the sky and praying for dear life. I just got a broadcast from another Traveller, Anomaly, that said roughly the same thing.. minus the twists and turns part.

"Mexico’s government recently announced the creation of 20 new protected areas across 12 states and two coastal areas in the country, covering roughly 2.3 million hectares (5.7 million acres). This follows a series of budget cuts to the nation’s environmental agencies.

Officials introduced four new national parks, four “flora and fauna protection areas,” seven sanctuaries, two biosphere reserves and three “natural resources protection areas” under the protection of the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP).

“This is a commendable step toward biodiversity conservation and environmental protection,” said Gina Chacón, director of the Wildland Network’s public policy program in Mexico. She told Mongabay these new areas will help preserve the country’s rich ecosystems, foster sustainable practices and protect a broad range of important species and habitats. Though some environmental and Indigenous groups are wary the budget cuts could hinder efforts to conserve these areas.

The newly protected areas will preserve habitat and ecologically important marine areas for various species, including whale sharks (Rhincodon typus), Mexican prairie dogs (Cynomys mexicanus) and jaguars (Panthera onca). They will also help safeguard ecologically important coral reefs and areas of cultural significance to Indigenous communities.

Bajos del Norte, a new national park in the Gulf of Mexico, is the largest new protected area, covering 1,304,114 hectares (3,222,535 acres), almost nine times the size of Mexico City. The area is important to the more than 3,000 families that belong to fishing communities on the Yucatán coast. It is also one of the main grouper fish (Epinephelinae) reproduction sites in the Gulf of Mexico and will safeguard threatened species, such as the rocky star coral (Orbicella annularis) and the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata).

Joaquín Núñez Medrano, the secretary of the UEFAHG or Union of Forestry and Agricultural Ejidos Hermenegildo Galeana A.C. (Unión de Ejidos Forestales y Agropecuarios Hermenegildo Galeana), lives in an ejido — a type of communally owned land used for agriculture and forestry purposes — called Cordòn Grande in Sierra Grande of Guerrero, along the Pacific Coast. For more than 10 years, Medrano’s community has monitored species such as the jaguar and sustainably managed the ejido’s natural resources, without government assistance.

But now, the ejido has been designated a protected area in this latest round of decrees, as it falls inside part of the new Sierra Tecuani reserve. “The goal is to strengthen what we have already been doing but with support to do it much better,” he told Mongabay.

The second- and third-largest newly protected areas are Sierra Tecuani, a 348,140-hectare (860,272-acre) biosphere reserve threatened by illegal logging, forest fires and land use changes, and the Semidesierto Zacatecas Flora and Fauna Protection Area, which is important for the recovery of the Mexican prairie dog.

The state of Oaxaca is where the government created the most new protected areas, numbering three: the 90-hectare (222-acre) Playa Morro Ayuta Sanctuary, the 56-hectare (138-acre) Barra de la Cruz-Playa Grande Sanctuary and the 261-hectare (645-acre) Playa Cahuitán Sanctuary. Other protected areas were created in the states of Quintana Roo, Veracruz, Campeche, Nayarit, Zacatecas, Chiapas, Colima, Durango, Jalisco, Chihuahua, Guerrero and the State of Mexico...

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has protected more areas than any previous administration, with a total of 43 new areas across 3 million hectares (7.4 million acres). But Mexico’s Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), which works to safeguard the environment, has become severely cash-strapped throughout his six-year term.

SEMARNAT is one of many sectors in Mexico undergoing funding cuts. In recent years, Obrador’s government has implemented a series of strict austerity measures to free up more money for other areas like pensions and wages, boosting the leader’s popularity among citizens, particularly the working-class. Judicial workers, health services and academia have also had their budgets slashed in 2024...

Juan Bezaury-Creel, the director of the organization Fundación BD BioDiversidad Mexicana, said a protected area is better than no protected area because, once a decree is formalized, the government has a duty to protect it. However, this puts “huge pressure on existing personnel because they have to take care of more surface area with less resources,” he told Mongabay.

“The personnel from CONANP are heroic,” he said. “They are putting their lives on the line many times with little budget and little help.”"

Exercise: None, I hurt my shoulder/back so I took a break.

2 toasts with jam + aged cheddar

2 protein bars throughout the day

Sweet potato + tofu with hot sauce

Also had diet soda

Forgot to post over the past few days, but I've stayed on track. Ate a bit more today because I was just in pain all day and received some bad news. I'm trying not to turn to food for comfort, but it is difficult not to do. It's probably a good thing that there's not much food home anyway - I need to do groceries tomorrow. I did get some good news today too though and did enjoyable things so it wasn't all bad.

I'm hoping I can get back into the gym on Friday, but I don't want to overdo it and hurt myself more. But, I do have a potential trip coming up and I'm a bit anxious about being "bikini ready." I want to feel confident in my swimsuit and take nice pictures.

Day 133, Captain's log

I'm starting to fear that the glorious 300 pound rupee is merely a myth. We've circled the length of the entirety of Grooseland, yet I can only find rumors of the glorious 300 pound rupee. I fear we are being led astray. The others in the crew don't agree; alas, they tote the rupee's wisdom, it's power, how they'll feed their families for ages off the fame this discovery will land them.

I only pray that none will fall to this folly.

Day 137

We've found a good lead. Tomorrow, We shall be guided to the glorious 300 pound rupee by a local of a nearby island. If all goes well, we'll be hailed as heros.

It’s been 50 years after the upheaval, and defeat of Ganondorf. Hyrule is changing, both technologically and socially at the turn of the century. Even going as far as to de-extinct the Kokiri. That being said, both the calamity and Upheaval left many of the denominations of Hyrule strained… independence sentiments started to brew, many felt that their nations should not answer to Hyrule anymore... civil war was slowly ticking. It would all come to a front, when Lady Makeela Riju of the Gerudo, would pass away under suspicious circumstances at age 68. Leaving her extremist daughter, Nebora, to take the throne, and crown herself; Vaiführen (woman leader) of Gerudo Valley. Here’s a timeline of events in Antebellum Hyrule:

106 ACG: Link plunges his sword into the head of the draconified Ganondorf. Destroying the Demon King, ending the upheaval. Kickstarting a reconstruction period.

110 ACG: The fine tuning of the Zonai Engine meant they could now be used to power more powerful engines. Sparking a chain reaction of technological innovation. The Hylian locomotive would be invented soon after. Transportation in Hyrule would be revolutionized, forever.

120 ACG: Sheikah researchers in Lookout Landing, put the first Power-grid in Hyrule, revved to life in Tarrey Town. Using a mix of Sheikah tech and Zonai battery energy.

123 ACG: Makeela Riju’s daughter, Nebora, is born. Buliara is slain in a Yiga Ambush.

125 ACG: Renowned scientist, Purah, passed away, at age 149.

126 ACG: The first Automobiles, invented by Purah’s former apprentice, Josha, engines revved across the streets of Hateno.

130 ACG- Sheikah repeating Rifle invented.

136 ACG: Hyrule proved so peaceful and prosperous, it ushered in the de-extinction of the Kokiri.

138 ACG: Zelda Bosphoramus Hyrule, passes away peacefully.

139 ACG: Paxton Erwynn Linkin Majora, grandson of the hero, Link, is born.

140 ACG: Link, Hero of the Calamity, Hero of the Upheaval, Hero of the Wild, passes away. His death reverberates all throughout all of Hyrule.

146 ACG(1900): Tarrey town, becomes Hyrule City. Many races of Hyrule living side be side when they otherwise wouldn’t have.

151 ACG: Kokiri Republic founded. Their leader, Leif, established weary diplomatic relations in the Capital of Hyrule City.

154 ACG: Hyrule’s intercontinental telegraph lines finally finish in Death Mountain. Kokiri express concerns about deforestation by Hylian logging Crews.

156 ACG: Makeela Riju dies at age 68, under suspicious circumstances. Nebora insists it’s due to her old age, but Makeela was shown to be very physically fit, even at her age. It had just been so convenient that the only person stopping the Gerudo from seceding, was no longer a factor, and now nothing was standing in Nebora’s way. The countdown to war, had begun.Februay : Nebora declares herself Vaiführen (Woman leader) of Gerudo Valley. The Gerudo began mobilization almost immediately, especially around their borders.

March: Prime Minister, Zelda Mineru Hyrule organizes an emergency council meeting in her council chamber. A fiery Kokiri spiritual leader, named Irren Thistlewake, founds the Sapblood Circle.

April: The Sapblood Circle began to sabotage Hylian logging camps. Much against Leif’s wishes for a more diplomatic solution. Paxton is currently attending the Hylian Military Academy of the Sciences in Lookout Landing, when he is conscripted.

May: Hylian forces are sent to suppress Kokiri rebellion, resulting in a skirmish between the Hylians and the Kokiri. Paxton and Irren would meet for the very first time.

July: Nebora and Irren communicate in secret, coming to a non aggression pact. Though Irren didn’t trust Nebora for one second, it was better than no alliance.

157ACG.

January: Riona is banished from Gerudo town by her own mother at the account of her perceived, “weakness” and a “disappointment”.

March: The Gerudo begin their invasion of Termina. It’s a swift, resounding victory for the Vaimacht.

June: The bombardment if Kakriko begins.

August: Prime Minister Zelda declares Martial Law in Hyrule.

September: The Gerudo formally secede, and declare war. The outbreak of the Second Hyrulean Civil War, had begun.

I don’t get to go to the gym on Sundays cause their daycare isn’t open on Sundays, but I did get all my steps and movement in while deep cleaning my closet today, searching for clothes that fit me. I found some pre-pregnancy clothes so I washed a bunch of them and am hoping some will fit me. Going to try some on tomorrow or Tuesday. I have plans to take my son to a science center tomorrow and then of course we’ve got the gym. So I probably won’t have time to try any clothes on tomorrow. Can’t waste my whole morning crying over how fat and gross I am in clothes that don’t look the same on me anymore, and then be 100% present for my son afterwards. So hopefully I can try everything on and finish organizing my closet on tuesday.

Rice crackers

Wrap with vegan chicken and vegan bacon + lettuce + hot peppers & hot sauce

1377 calories / 83g protein

I also bought some hot cheetos.. i don't know why.. i was weak at the grocery store, and my boyfriend was getting snacks. I thought I would crack and have some tonight, but honestly, I felt a little sick after dinner, so that worked in my favor, I guess.

Then, I fell asleep after dinner. I was just so tired. I think my B12 levels are low. I'm deficient, my body doesn't process it well. And it tends to make me pretty tired. I've just been falling asleep a lot recently by accident. So, I'm making sure to take my vitamins.
