Echo during his time with the 501st: doing body shots, dancing on tables, blowing things up in the barracks with Fives, creating chaos with Fives, doing keg stands, complaining about them leaving the club “too early” even though it’s four in the morning, being the reason that new rules were added to the reg manuals, generally being an absolute terror
Echo during most of his time with the Bad Batch: tucking kids in, telling bedtime stories, always carrying healthy snacks, in bed by nine, putting people in time-out, telling “kids” to behave, tending to sick “kids”, being the only one to put their foot down and shut down any shenanigans, generally being a mom and an absolute angel (of course this is when he isn’t being the absolute badass that he is and always had been since let’s not forget that he’s an ARC Trooper)

i think the fact that ratio's character stories are all read from an outsider perspective, rather than ratio's perspective, is so intriguing.
he is a man who is a doctor, for the people, of the people. to cure ignorancy and idiocy; to make people see that there are indeed geniuses amongst the mundane, despite not having the label "genius" thrust onto them.
in his character stories, we see how other people view ratio, with their limited interactions with him. most think of him as just another "out-of-touch" genius because of said limited interactions and not further understanding his motives and beliefs as a person.
despite being someone who knows more than the average person, he still is adamant on letting people know that he is indeed just like them - a mundane human.
but despite that, people still view him as a higher being because they don't feel on par with his level of intelligence.
ratio holds disdain for those in the genius society because they flaunt their abilities of being smarter than most, rather than going out of their way to educate and teach others - they indulge themselves in knowledge only, rather than also paying attention to the core of humans and intelligence - learning, wisdom, knowledge, it all comes from somewhere, and most of the time, it is from other humans.

the lore about force sensitives in ahsoka is interesting but also confusing. i like that ahsoka is trying to train sabine in ways that don’t necessarily match the jedi. clearly sabine is not force sensitive enough to have been trained in the jedi ways, and ahsoka isn’t a jedi anymore. and it’s also been established that the force flows thru everyone and everything and people have varying levels of force sensitivity. but ahsoka being like “it just takes focus and training” GIRL. it also takes force sensitivity😭 i’m interested to see where they go with this

So the other day, I decided to treat myself and got a few TNG figures I found at the antique store, and let's say I am very satisfied.
Tumblr media
(that diva Lore Soong, ✨Professor✨ Data, and ofc, the silver fox and shit father himself, Noonian Soong)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I am fucking kicking my legs, blushing and giggling like a goddamn school girl that Data came with a TEA TRAY of all things!
Like what??
You mean to tell me that an ACTUAL STAR TREK FIGURE gives you the accessories that I can make daddy Data and all my other figures have a TEA PARTY if I so pleased???
Like do you not see how wonderful that is??
Also, I legit thought that his vase was a bong at first
Tumblr media
When I first opened these guys, their joints were crispier than the burnt KFC chicken that I ate with my granny when I visited her!
The arms move great, the knees, neck and elbows too. It's just- the legs... They can't sit for crap unfortunately, but other than that, ⭐⭐⭐⭐ four stars, 9/10 would recommend.

Hot take; I don’t like Sweet Vitriol. Not because I don’t like Cobel but because I think she didn’t deserve to be completely written out of the show.

A transcript of Kafka’s letter for those who chose other characters
“To Your Dear Self
Hey. Today should be the second anniversary of the Express’ journey with you onboard.
It has been a while since we last met, but I’ve always been watching your actions. Even now, I can imagine the expression on your face when you read this letter. Don’t worry. I don’t mean anything by it. I’m just happy to see how much you’ve changed compared to what you were like when you first woke up.
Listen. The road ahead will be even more resplendent, but make sure you make your own choices no matter what — That’s the only way you can reach the end of the story.
A Name You Surely Remember”

so. I've been reading some posts on the jedi order tag AND i won't talk about my opinion on "are jedi good or bad discourse" BUT i wanna point out some lore to everyone who's complaining about the jedi taking kids into their order: (in the EU) it wasn't always like this.
if you take swtor era (more than 3000 years before the prequels) there were many jedi who joined at an older age. like, for example there was a guy who broke his engagement to become one. most jedi remember their families because they were old enough when they decided to go.
THEN in darth bane's book trilogy (circa 1000 yesrs before the prequels) there is a passage where two sith lords are talking about taking bane, already an adult, to study at korriban. one doubted him because he was too old, ans the other told him he sounded like a jedi, and that ONE DAY jedi will have to accept only kids into their ranks if they really want to find "pure" people that can learn their lessons quicker.
one day!! so it wasn't always like that!! the ongoing wars with the sith, who corrupted and killed many of them, had pressured them into taking always younger people into their ranks.
also, consider a thing that this video explains super well: training to become a jedi is not like exercising, because there is a transformative lesson at the end of the training that changes everything. you can't just do as much as you can, but not finish.
the transformative lesson, as the video explains, is that through the force, everything is the same - from rocks and ships to life and death. at the end of the training you have to understand this fundamental truth.
yoda says "you have to unlearn what you have learned". during times where they were constantly killed off or corrupted by the dark side (and if you haven't learned this lesson you are more susceptible to this corrupting), younger people were taken in to actually finish their training (a training that was ultimately about being a good person AND that you could leave at any point if you weren't sold on that, too)
(remember that for the sith failure = death. like. that was the alternative for force sensitive kids. it's not like sith had any moral problem with taking kids away without consent. sith don't have moral problems: they believe that them being stronger in the force means they can do whatever they want as long as their strong enough to go and do it. there are MANY passages in many different star wars stories, even in different mediums, that say this out loud)
AND (this is more of a critical thought than just stating the lore) the fact that they started doing it out of necessity doesn't mean it's 100% good BUT you know. the whole set up of the prequels is that we're starting off the story in a period of crisis and decadence all around. most of the systems of the times were about to fall. OF COURSE they had problems. if they didn't, we wouldn't have the story to begin with.
that doesn't automatically mean jedi = bad and sith are better, tho. you wouldn't take the last, chaotic and decadent period to jugde something, would you? it's like deciding that the athenian democracy sucked because people at the times of Demosthenes failed at recognizing the new schemes in which the world was evolving into, and still believed that their city would be important as it had been in the previous century. They just didn't fucking expect the Macedons would conquer half the world known and more, and have the subsequent political power. Still, their experiences in the 5th century with democracy were very good, even better than ours on many fronts, if you contextualize a little. the jedi had flaws, and most importantly, they didn't fucking know the future and everything that ever happened, ever, so they made mistakes. that doesn't automatically make the system ill, or bad, or not-working. systems can have setbacks when the world changes. (just like athenian democracy had one when they lost the empire that was funding the democracy. they even had a tyranny for a while and then fixed the problems. that doesn't diminish retrospectively their democracy)

"hey yeah we didn't feel like doing long questlines anymore :) sorry!" feels like an ao3 author's note who stops posting and leaves their fics unfinished on chapter 25/27 because they moved fandoms, except this is a (supposedly) professional company getting paid to produce a product people are paying for who are just leaving not just the event questline but like half a dozen proper questlines in general abandoned and unfinished in their game on what is essentially a whim.
Finishing a project is a skill that is quite literally expected of university students, let alone working adults, and offering good experiences to your players means giving them satisfactory endings to quests after stringing them along for years.
Any goddamn professional who goes "hey these long questlines aren't working, lets shift to a more stand-alone shorter style of quest development" should still have the goddamn decency to finish the ongoing quests instead of abandoning them entirely. It's messy and immature not to.
"oooo but [insert name] left the company!! so we don't know how to finish it :(" the only thing less professional than just throwing shit out unfinished is to have entire parts of your process rely on a single person with no way to pick it back up if that person gets sick/quits/gets fired. do fucking better.
