Since this is a question I've been thinking of for a bit, what are each of the four fixers' weapons?

Oh! This one's fun!

Starting simple, Daie uses either a spare rifle from the Whitenight Bossfight for ranged combat, or her gloves for up close spats. The gloves themselves have retractable claws built into them, and were initially bought as a classy form of self defense, given that Daie was a singer long before she was a fixer.

Kinsley has just about every gun-shaped EGO weapon in his arsenal, but primarily uses Magic Bullet, because of course he does. Recently, though, an anon gave him this:

Make of that what you will. Also, his prosthetic arm has a corkscrew bottle opener and a lighter In the index and middle fingers.

Olivie's weapons are a pair of twin swords with a clock design on the hilts. They're a bit of a hold over from an older version of Olivie's characterization, from back when she was an abnormality. The twin swords; Minute Hand and Hour Hand, were originally the EGO weapons that could be extracted from her. Idk where she got them now, but they retain their theming regardless. Olivie's other weapon is, of course, herself. She is a distortion, and she uses her distorted form as a weapon, which is super fun to draw. These combat sprites in particular itch my brain good

And, lastly, the Violet Mercy herself. Camille's gone through a couple weapons, funnily enough. Her first weapon was a staff that used a selective cognition filter to make her hardblood attacks look like petals and plants. She'd also make hardblood guns ala Mami Tomoe.

Then Whitenight's Darkdays form ate the staff. But, luckily, or lady of light Carmen came in clutch and gave her an EGO weapon of her very own. Reposting @voice-of-the-light-c and I's interaction here because I know the Whitenight boss fight thread is LONG.

Camille's new weapon is a thorned whip sword, named after the book that gave Camille her surname; La Dame aux Camélia. It's also why her EGO gives her the ability to create doppels of herself made of white and red camellias.

The whip also conceals a faux blood vessel to use as a conduit for her hardblood attacks.

And that's how being gay defeated the antichrist. Also apparently the book I referenced in her EGO was the inspiration for Moulin Rouge? Maybe that's why Cami has such game.

I love the pale garden and how it's like a parallel to dark forests. I love how the two divert expectations.

Dark forests, despite their name, are saturated and full of life. Even compared to regular forests, there's a lot more biodiversity than many of the "basic" biomes. There's three whole different trees found there, giant mushrooms, and plenty of flowers. They're one of the biomes capable of spawning a lush cave underneath it. It has its dangers just like any other overworld biome, obviously, but it's nothing overly more than anywhere else. Traversing it can be tricky sometimes and illagers may take residence in the biome's woodland mansions, but it's ultimately a very colorful and lively environment.

Opposing it is the new pale garden. Usually white and light colors are seen as pristine and good, but the pale garden takes it the opposite direction and goes right into uncanny valley territory. It has none of the color of dark forests, none of the biodiversity, none of the liveliness. It has trees and moss that look familiar, but something is off. It has a signature mob, but even the creaking is just a puppet of the trees, not really sentient, not really even plotting against anything. There's "life", but, once again, it's wrong.

I think the pale garden is a wonderful addition to Minecraft's world building as it is, but the deliberate parallel to dark forests? Delicious.

i know you guys have lots of curiosities about this fic lolll so i’ll try to answer some of the questions i received (∗ᵕ̴᷄◡ᵕ̴᷅∗) ���� if u still have some, just shoot me an ask!! :] also im really bad at explaining so i apologize 🤦🏻‍♀️ i have the plot nailed in my head but its tricky to articulate it in a clear, linear way for yall considering all the little nuances i added lol. i’ll try my best tho hehe :,)

Okay so there’s a whole ‘nother plot that exists in the background of this fic- which was super fun for me to write, but im sure from a reader standpoint it’s also kinda thrilling to try to connect the dots i left lol. thats why theres so many interpretations for this story (which i love!! i loved reading all yall’s theories)! 💕 BUT. that being said, the ‘canon’ goes like this:

was caleb really dead?

No. Caleb staged his own death and then, similar to the main story homecoming wings, didnt tell mc :,) for his own reasons, for a time, he decides he’ll let her go on believing he’s truly gone…

why did he stage his death?

I dropped little crumbs of it in the fic, but it’s hinted that mc, on top of all her grief, feels a bit bitter over the whole shebang and also blames herself for it. hmm… why would that be? 🤔 well because their final moments together (or so she THOUGHT) were emotionally charged and volatile.

the foundation of their sibling relationship was growing weaker and weaker before the explosion. arguments are forming out of nowhere- things are becoming more tense and mc, for the life of her, can’t understand why her gege is always pulling her into a heated debate about safety, danger, blahblahblah, this that and the third, every time they interact. He’s being wildly unreasonable, which she knows, and protective- a trait that has snowballed as they entered their adulthood- but what she doesn’t know is the why behind it. she tells herself she just has a super protective older brother who views her as a little baby in need of his guidance- which isn’t entirely wrong… but she doesn’t see the full picture. His true feelings. All this tension eventually climbs to its peak. Caleb just gets worse and worse. He needs to do something before the world collapses on them both.

Now, in this au, he works at EVER, a somewhat shady but lucrative company- which dabbles in robotics amongst other things. I imagine they have abundant resources and wealth- and what with his promotions, it’s safe to say caleb is making a LOT. So, the delusional guy he is, he buys a big fancy suite with the idea in mind of two eventually living in it ;) but mc doesn’t want to- she has her own life in linkon!! She wants to spread her wings and separate from the nest anyway. Partly to start her own life; partly to prove to her gege that she can take care of herself. The argument that unfolds over this is the last they have before the big tragic explosion 😭 caleb, putting on a show with his beaten puppy eyes, leaves and then that’s the last time she sees him.

Caleb meticulously plans his ‘death’ out (with some help from his wingman ofc) and then eventually the robot is introduced to mc. It serves as a trojan horse. He’ll finally conquer her heart with it and win full autonomy over her. THIS IS HIS MAIN GOAL WITH THE ROBOT. WHY HE EVEN DOES ANY OF THIS TO BEGIN WITH.

Caleb gets to spy on mc with it and also slowly reshape her to accept his feelings; his ‘death’ has left her in a fragile state of mourning and he knows, after she warms up a bit to not-Caleb, he can more or less get away with anything- bc she will claw for whatever’s left of her family member. He can make her finally reciprocate and understand him— whether that be his feelings or fear or love. He tried to be patient, to be good, but obviously he had to travel a new route. He’s thinking of her 24/7. He’s obsessive, longing, protective, you name it- and all of this just worsens the more she denies him. When push comes to shove… well, caleb will do whatever it takes to win her :] He knows it’s unconventional and he’d be lying if he said it didn’t hurt him too- monitoring his endearingly stubborn, but sweet meimei and the shattered pieces he left of her through his android’s eyes— but it’s all temporary, and he truly believes it’s for the better.

did gideon know?

Yes, Gideon knew all along. He’s Caleb’s best buddy after all. To be matter of fact- Gideon didn’t just know, he quite literally ‘herded’ mc into the lion’s den in a way. Mc knew vaguely of their work at EVER, but not too much; so Gideon was the one who shined that light on their robotics and really introduced her to the concept of not-Caleb. Now, i wouldnt say Gideon is exactly comfortable with his involvement, but he actually really does care for mc and thinks she needs that help- as dubious as the means are. Anyway, it’s almost impossible to shut out all of his buddy’s demands: the brunet is nothing if not insistent on getting what he wants. In his own whacky way, Gideon thinks what he did- playing into Caleb’s plan- was for the better as well. I mean, Mc clearly wasnt doing good before not-Caleb came along,… but with the few visits he managed before the android got a little too stingy and sent him off, Gideon actually managed to catch a smile or two from her! So clearly he did the right thing 👀 not to mention… the real caleb seems very pleased with the progress, too. besides- the whole robot situation is temporary anyway :] She’ll be reuniting with the beloved gege she misses so much sooner rather than later.

how accurate was not-caleb?

His programming is like 100% accurate. Mc, for a mix of both naiveity and delusion, thinks not-Caleb is flawed when he starts to show signs of amorous/romantic feelings for her. Really, though, after she tells him to stay the night with her (innocently; and after years of having not shared the same childhood twin bed), it triggers a part of his ‘brain’ that undoes all real caleb’s self restraint thus far :] If the same exact situation happened with the real caleb, his reaction would’ve more or less been the same. Homeboy can only keep his feelings in check for so long

who programmed not-caleb?

how is mc pregnant?

Because the robot’s creator wanted to add his own special touch to his work if you know what i mean :) yeah he’s a freak like that. Dont think he WOULDNT install in his robot the ability to indirectly knock his ‘meimei’ up. I will say though, that while caleb wants to get mc pregnant, its not fully bc he wants to start a family- at least not right away- but because he wants to emotionally and legally trap her with him. Besides monitoring her/wearing down her walls while she thought he was ‘dead’, this was actually one of caleb’s biggest goals with sending not-caleb into her home.

is not-caleb self-aware?

what’s real caleb been doing all this time?

Basically climbing the ranks of EVER from his lil perch somewhere in skyhaven. all the while, of course, spying on mc like a hawk. Biding his time & waiting for the right moment when she’s at her weakest, most codependent state to replace his carbon copy :)

was caleb controlling his robot?

No. But he essentially created its whole program. And there are cameras inside its eyes in which he watches mc from :) and cant help but snap pics with sometimes: she’s just so pretty— and endlessly sexy when he finally, in a vicarious way, gets to lie her back and make love to her <3

what is real caleb’s motive/ultimate goal?

1. to control/protect/‘tame’ mc through the robot; get her to see things from his point of view (which means realizing she belongs with him- where it’s safe and he can protect & love her)

2. to knock her up (hence the. ahem. reproductive abilities of the robot) so that he can trap her with a baby on top of all the other emotional strings he’s hogtied her with.

does gideon want mc too?

the question is not would gideon smash her. the question is would caleb LET him…. 👀

The original myth has the lindwyrm and his sacrificial bride taking turns removing clothing/skins in order to weaken him enough for the bride to complete the rest of the steps to turn him human. It was simultaneously so much fun and a pain in the arse to incorporate as many tasteful layers as humanly possible… he has 5 sleeves. Five whole sleeves.

this is just me nitpicking but rhaenyra should have dressed her kids in more velaryon colours. just go all out and have lucerys wear velaryon colours to the hearing. why did lucerys wear targaryen black and red? baela didn't wear red and black (and if someone is like "oh, actually she's a ward on driftmark" i'll scratch my eyes out). lucerys is the HEIR to driftmark and yet he isn't wearing those colours when he's older. as kids the boys wear blue and i get that maybe jacaerys would wear more red and black bc he's rhaenyra's heir but luke (and joffrey)? i would have made him laenor 2.0 clothing wise.

rhaenyra could have also worn velaryon colours. make herself and laenor look like a united front, just look the part. we see rhaenys and alicent in the colours of their husbands. what's stopping rhaenyra? she would have looked so beautiful. we see her in the blue dress after joffrey's birth, she and laenor look united. the fact that she mostly wore red and black bothers me bc the opportunities were there!

i just wanted rhaenyra and her kids in more velaryon colours and use that at court. alicent used green to her advantage but rhaenyra is just in that same red and black....

1. Yes, they still have trauma from lobotomy corporation. Olivie is literally a distortion because of it. Kinsley still misses the Wellcheers fishing boat and considers his time out there some of the best years of his life. Camille, while definitely traumatized by her experiences in lobcorp remembers it the most fondly. It was the one time in her life she wasn't constantly starving.

2. Yes, they all have fought an ALEPH. Camille in particular has a personal feud with Whitenight. Funny, considering vampires are repelled by crucifixes!

3. As for common jobs, the office gets tasked with disposal of cretain esoteric items as well as making people 'dissappear'.

4. Cami's a color fixer, the office is 100% loaded. They live pretty comfortably, even if they all do live together due to their circumstances. The office itself rests at the border of Nest and Backstreets in district 13, so not the best real estate? Camille picked it out because it was overtop an L-Corp branch facility, and because of that the office has their own energy supply in the form of enkephalin. They're all experienced when it comes to working with abnormalities, so its no problem. Also at no point have any of them mentioned bullet costs, so make of that what you will. The Camellia Office is very comfortable in ots finances.

There's a little thing about Etho and his past that no one knows about until later in the story. His scars and appearance in general are related to that, that's why he doesn't like being seen upclose and kinda avoids meetings, in hopes to avoid any unwanted questions along with them (even though asking too much about past is generally considered bad manners among all "satellite hermits" anyway; it takes a certain kind of person or life situation to choose to live like this and you never know how the person might feel about it).

However after everything comes to light, he's much more comfortable with showing himself to people who know what's up (mainly Bdubs, because he trusts him the most). Sometimes he'd take off the gloves or the hat, roll his sleeves up; even the mask that one time.

(Obviously many people have seen Etho's face, but Bdubs is the only one who saw it since it got scarred like this)

okay okay so to start, the world ended millions upon millions of years ago. Four world leaders nuked the everloving fuck out of the earth. Time (as a deity) decided to make the three world leaders gods because they #deserveit. They become three suns. War, Wisdom, and Womb. The fourth replaced the moon, calling herself Citadel.

they weave themselves into this religion, calling themselves gods and personifications of their concepts. At birth, a child is assigned a sun to worship. At death, it is custom for a body to be completely destroyed, usually by burning. This sets the soul free to travel up to Citadel and become an angel.

anyways, somehow life finds a way. Wolves grow and evolve and become apex predators, hunting everything else to near extinction. In their slaughter that lasted millions of years, wolves started to evolve. The First to have Hands is the first true distinction from Lycan and wolf. lycans are a more intelligent subspecies of wolf. After thousands of years of evolving, they gained the ability to shift between a vaguely wolfish and human form. They can also mimic sounds.

Lavish is a Lycan. He was born in a desert and has an abusive mom and two little twin sisters. His father left him at a young age, so lavish (and his best friend/adoptive sister, Cherié) use magic to portal to a present-day version of earth. When Liv is around 15, he receives a vision from War (his patron Sun) saying that Citadell is full. She cannot handle any new angels. And they can’t be sent down unto the earth, for without holy flame, angels become feral, starving beasts, forever reliving their final moments of pain. Or peace. So, as one of War’s most devout and capable followers (as well as being related to the God Killer, whom I can talk abt), he is meant to balance his life with his friends vs. fighting off angels and trying to find a good replacement for Citadel.

when he’s 16, War has the bright idea to kill Time and use its corpse as a second home for the angels because it’s War. Not Wisdom. So, he sends Lavish out to go kill time. But a portal opens up and Liv comes face-to-face with the adult version of himself. Adult Lavish was sent to stop and or kill teen lavish to stop the spread of angels. It is impossible to kill Time, but it is possible to kill War. Lavish has a very important decision to make here. he can either go off and slaughter war, or he can stay true to his loyalties and fight til his death. Both versions are cannon bc we’re working w/ a multiverse here.

in option 1, Liv backs off. He goes back to the desert and climbs the highest dune, just as his ancestor did. Lavish kills War, hurling its corpse into the sky for the angels. Life goes on.

In option 2, Lavish is killed by the adult version of himself. His eyes and uterus are ripped out before his is burned alive. He is the straw that breaks the camel’s back, because the apocalypse comes not long after. Liv becomes a mindless angel, following Cherié around like a dog while she tries to survive
