Posted @withregram • @midnight_epiphyllum Completed a piece today based on a particular scene in @lucid_nap ’s original story (in the style of William S Burroughs) for the upcoming surreal tribute podcast on @u_mind_pod this February 5th. I meant to do this moment in the story a week ago, but got sidetracked by my previous idea. No matter! I decided to do this one today for fun and keep it loose in style, but sort of surreal and dark. I used watercolor, acrylic, gloss medium, fluorescent pink acrylic, faux gold leaf, and pen on Arches hot press watercolor paper. It’s a little difficult to take a decent picture of due to parts of the picture being glazed in gloss medium and metallic leaf, but here it is. The title of this piece is “She Can Read Your Thoughts You Know...”, a direct quote taken from Lucid’s story..... but what is happening here? Why is that shimmering gold and blue liquid dripping down her? Why do those eyes peer into my soul? Why do I feel I’m in trouble but somehow aroused?
