Unfortunately, Ludovico Bessegato, director of Prisma, announced today that the Prisma has been cancelled by Prime, concluding with its second season. He noted that a third season had already been written and was highly promising, but Prime made the decision to cancel the series due to unsatisfactory viewership figures. Therefore, I would like to kindly ask you to help us out by signing and sharing this petition: https://chng.it/DpDG4k5RBF which takes a few seconds to fill in and submit.

Italians were able to save a show once before - SKAM Italia, maybe this can happen again if we put enough work, spread the word, rewatch the show on Prime and generally talk about it on social media, using hashtags #prismalaserie and #saveprismalaserie . It's is a very important show and means a lot to many people, in Italy and outside of Italy. Visually and story-wise, there's nothing quite like this. Please, let's try to get this show the third season, which they deserve to have.

HUGE PRISMA UPDATE

rai (our national television network) has bought prisma’s distribution rights! this means that the first two seasons will premiere on a public tv channel (rai2) in 2025 for everyone to see. the show will still remain on amazon as well though.

what does this mean for season 3? it doesn’t mean anything yet, as prime still has all the creative rights, but it’s a start. why would rai buy a cancelled show that ends with a cliffhanger if they didn’t intend to continue it?

we are thinking that rai might produce season 3 or co-produce it with prime like they did with other shows!

none of this is confirmed though, which is why we all still have to keep signing our petition (which has become the most signed one in history when it comes to italian tv shows- surprassing skam italia!) and talk about the show. the streaming parties are still going strong (we’re watching s 1 ep 7 in 20 minutes!) and our hashtags still trend on x. we’re switching hashtags every two days (we used #andrearisorio yesterday and today), so i’ll keep you updated). we have to keep showing interest: they need to think of our show as something they should invest on! the mediatic attention we have received has been crazy: we need to keep on fighting!

I LOOKED IT UP AND ITS SKAM ITALIA'S DIRECTOR I stg I was watching this show thinking, "Huh something about this feels so Skam like but I'm also comparing everything to Skam so maybe all these coincidences are just me reaching for conclusions" BUT I WASNT GOING CRAZY I was really shook by how quickly I got obsessed with this like I'm not even this excited about watching Rykter and that's another queer Norwegian show BUT THIS. THIS FEELS LIKE A SKAM ITALIA SEASON MADE WITH MORE MONEY. It feels like a gift from the Skam gods, I wanna kiss Ludovico Bessegato. I truly feel so happy with this revelation. I feel like the Norse gods got tired of picking on me and surprised me with a Norway adjacent apology present.

Prisma; uma serie que transborda delicadeza.

Não sei nem por onde começar. Essa série é simplesmente linda, recomendo fortemente para todos que estão a procura de uma boa jornada dentro da comunidade LGBT+. Eu vou ser honesta, no começo fiquei bastante com o pé atrás, mas o desenrolar da história é muito bom.  Ela é recheada de representação! Você quer gay? temos. Você quer PCD? temos. Quer ver lésbicas pegando a mulher dos outros? temos. Quer ver a luta de um homem trans? temos! Aqui tem de tudo, até gay que vende drogas. Meu gênero favorito de todos os tempos: gays trambiqueiras. 

A série é original da Amazon Prime Video. Ela conta com 2 temporadas, a segunda temporada foi lançada este ano, então é bem recente! Infelizmente somente a primeira temporada está disponível dublada/legendada :( A segunda como foi lançada recentemente ainda não veio pro BR. É de origem italiana, bem legal, né?! Gosto muito das produções italianas e fico feliz que estão ganhando mais visibilidade. O diretor é o queridíssimo Ludovico Bessegato, que eu sou meio suspeita para falar, já que ele fez SKAM itália (recomendo muito, inclusive irei trazer para o blog.) e eu sou meio doida por SKAM e suas variantes… Eu gosto muito desse diretor, ele sabe muito bem como trabalhar certos assuntos com leveza. Alice Urciuolo, que é a roteirista de PRISMA, também trabalhou com o Ludovico em SKAM Itália! Devo dizer que muito da excelência da série vem do roteiro muito bem feito.

Vamos falar um pouco sobre o plot dessa belezura? Tudo começa com os gêmeos idênticos Andrea e Marco (ambos interpretados por Mattia Carrano) Andrea é mais extrovertido que seu irmão. Marco faz natação e em um dia quando Andrea chega em casa, Marco está com o braço INTEIRO aberto. Andrea tem um forte senso de proteção com ele, sempre cuidando e dando conselhos para Marco. Em contrapartida, Daniele (Lorenzo Zurzolo), que é um dos personagens principais da obra, também faz natação e tem um grupo de música com seus amigos. É mostrado no início da série que Daniele troca mensagens com uma desconhecida no instagram, que só tem fotos mostrando o corpo (fotos de vestidos, ombros, usando saias, etc) e ele é meio que apaixonado por ela. Eles tentam marcar de se encontrar, mas a moça misteriosa vive dando desculpas, mas o motivo disso é muito engraçado… Na verdade, a moça que ele troca mensagem é nada menos e nada mais que o próprio Andrea!!!!!!! 

O resto é história, por isso é tão bom! Eles mostram o desenvolvimento de cada personagem perfeitamente bem. Nós acompanhamos o Andrea na aceitação da sua sexualidade e também da identidade de gênero. É algo muito lindo de se ver, muito mesmo. Tem as histórias secundárias também que são de encher os olhos. Abordam de tudo, o que é bastante bom, gosto quando colocam diversidade. 

Agora vou falar de best pra best: sou a maior protetora do Andrea do mundo. Mexeu com ele, mexeu comigo. É impossível odiar esse menino, já o irmão dele… Não vou falar muito porque é spoiler, mas ô menino ingrato da peste, não mexe um dedo pra defender o Andrea, isso me deixa DOIDA. A série me fez rir muito, é divertidíssima; tem gente carismática, tem gente doida, tem gente odiável, tem de tudo. Ao mesmo tempo que te faz rir, te faz chorar também, já que aborda temas que são sensíveis para algumas pessoas (não tem morte nem nada, mas fala sobre aceitação.) então é muito balanceada. Passei noites vendo ela e não me arrependo, to doida pra terceira temporada!

Considerações finais: ASSISTAM! Pelo amor de deus, deem stream nessa série, eu imploro em nome de jesus. É a coisa mais linda do mundo. A fotografia é boa, o roteiro não tenho nem o que falar, trama muito bem desenvolvido e personagens com personalidades únicas! Os atores são muito bons, eles se entregam bastante nos papéis. Ludovico Bessegato conseguiu mais uma vez fazer uma série que aborda questões queer de uma forma bastante leve e dura, mostrando por muitas vezes a realidade de quem vive com essas questões pessoais no dia a dia.

Poor Andrea, his mum is terrible, so essentially she said it was like a phase and that he’d grow out of it but apparently his uncle is also closeted? Or did I get that wrong? As he referenced his uncle now being a priest etc. im interested to see what happens next now cause like idk how one would live with a parent who says it’s a phase but I’m glad that the dad is accepting.

okay loved that scene with the brothers and being sick Mattia Carrano you have great chemistry with yourself x - can he get another project soon please 🙏🏾

ugh yeah I understand why Marco is acting like that but also Andrea’s 😭, I just need more scenes with them together stop putting them apart ludovico bessegato!

Andrea's mom is a terrible person. The way she fired his piano teacher because she was "influencing" Andrea in a "bad way" made my blood boil. And also I don't think his uncle is closeted. I got a feel that he was more liberal and knew how conservative his sister was, so he was trying to protect Andrea (please don't quote me on this. i watched the second season with bad english subs).

The dad is the MVP! He has always protected both of his sons and I love him.

The way this whole show is shot is commendable, especially Andrea and Marco's scenes. I remember watching a BTS video of the whole process with body double and then Mattia potraying both the characters... THE TALENT!!!

Alright, here are a few spoiler-free thoughts about Ludo's new show Prisma (which was released internationally on Amazon Prime; thanks for nothing, Netflix)

If you watched Skam Italia, you will notice the few nods to it and some of Ludo's...Ludoisms:

the show should be called 50 Shades of Blue, because that is what it was, no surprise there if Marti's season was anything to go by

excellent choice of music, as per usual

beautifully directed shots; that man can make anything look aesthetic

the LGBTQ phone helpline, so legendarily featured in the Skamit season 2 opening, plays an important role here too, with a full circle moment to one beloved Skamit character <3

unhappy to report that instead of scenes filmed in total darkness, Ludo has now discovered strobe lights, so beware. There are warnings though at the start of those episodes

Ludo is in his "exposing male stereotypes and questioning gender roles and labels" era, but doesn't want to put anyone off, so he's very - to put it nicely- subtle. Ludo, you know what you want to say, now say it! Not everything has to look beautiful! Yes, the kid looks gorgeous wearing make up and a dress, but you could have gone sooo much deeper

the editing when both twins were together was flawless and I felt that the actor was better at showing their different mannerisms and tone in those scenes (um, I hope that's not a spoiler)

I sure hope there's another season, damn you Ludo for that ending!
