LUKE/ACTS S.O.A.P. ~ LUKE 3
Tuesday, 9/24/24
SCRIPTURE:
"All humanity will see God’s salvation.” ~ Luke 3:6
OBSERVATION:
All humanity...
My family...
My coworkers...
My neighbors... ("Who is my neighbor...?")
The guy who cut me off in traffic...
The cashier at the grocery store...
The "unreached" overseas...
The shut-in...
The shut-out...
The guy at the bottom of the exit ramp...
The guy on the big screen...
The guy in the endzone...
Even me...
...will see God's salvation...
Not theirs by any action except belief...
...not mine by anything I can do...
...not through anyone or anything except Him...
His salvation...
...and His alone...
...by His grace and mercy...
...by Jesus...
APPLICATION:
See humanity...
See His salvation...
PRAYER:
Forgiving Father of salvation - Please continue to change my heart and actions - Thank You for the forgiveness of my sins through Your Son Christ Jesus - May those You bring into my life today see You and Your salvation above and through everything I do and say - In Jesus's Name, and so that You receive the glory and adoration...
As always, yours always, in all ways - by and through Him...

The Call to Repentance and the Baptism of Jesus Luke 3 Explained Good morning, everyone! Today, we turn our attention to Luke 3, a chapter that calls us to repentance and prepares the way for the ministry of Jesus Christ. In this chapter, we witness the powerful preaching of John the Baptist and the divine affirmation of Jesus through His baptism. Luke 3 begins with John the Baptist, the voice crying out in the wilderness, fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah: “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.” John’s message is clear and urgent: repentance. He calls the people to turn away from their sins and be baptized as a sign of their commitment to a transformed life. John’s fiery sermons attract crowds from all over Judea, who come to hear his message and seek a fresh start. John’s call to repentance isn’t just about feeling sorry for our sins; it’s about producing fruit in keeping with repentance. He challenges the people to live out their faith through actions—sharing with those in need, practicing honesty, and treating others with fairness and kindness. This message is timeless and resonates deeply with us today. True repentance leads to a changed heart and life. As John prepares the way for the Messiah, he makes a powerful statement: “I baptize you with water, but one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” John humbly acknowledges that his role is to prepare the people for someone far greater—Jesus, who will bring a baptism of the Holy Spirit, transforming lives from the inside out. The chapter reaches a pivotal moment when Jesus Himself comes to be baptized by John. As Jesus is praying after His baptism, heaven opens, and the Holy Spirit descends on Him in bodily form like a dove. A voice from heaven declares, “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” This divine affirmation marks the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry and highlights His identity as the beloved Son of God. Luke 3 reminds us\

Homily for 2nd Sunday of Advent Year C
The Desert ExperienceGospel: luke3:1-6 Jijo Kandamkulathy CMFClaretian Missionaries, Macau The gospel today presents the beginning of the preaching ministry of John the Baptist after the pattern of the Old Testament prophets. My thoughts are magnetized to the description of his personality. John is just a voice. Why would someone be referred to as a voice? It is a narrative to give ultimate…

Date: 2/26 Time: Late Night Location: West Cove Closed Starter: @lucas-lowe
Night has grown darker, being awake for so long it feels like morning might be here soon and hopefully this will all be over by then and everything will be better... maybe. Already, Lark isn’t sure how he’ll recover from this whole mess, he’s so tired and scared and just wants to see an end. He wants to stop seeing and hearing things that hurt him, horrify him, wrack him with guilt, and chip away at his psyche with every passing second.
In the dark, he spots a silhouette that looks almost like Luke’s, but he’s hesitant to approach. He stands still with the sinking feeling that, once he reaches the figure, they won’t be who he expects. Still he moves toward them because, if it actually is Luke, maybe he’ll be safe for a little bit and they can battle out the rest of the night side by side.
They stand with their back facing him so he tries not to sneak up, making himself heard by calling out, “Luke... Is that you?”

Message Title: The Release of Fire ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Verse: “As the people were in expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Christ, John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭3:15-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ (See also: Daniel 3:1-25 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Notes: Wherever you are and what your going through Jesus wants to release fire to you. Jesus knows we’re to apply fire where and when in your life. Is there anything in your life currently that needs to be touched by fire. Jesus will not let the fire kill you but it will cut some things off of you. Fire in His hands transforms us, purifies us, and awakens us. #Luke3 #Christ #Jesus #salvation #wisdom #God #Abba #Shalom #maranatha #Sabbath #christian #christianquotes #christianliving #christianity #Godpromises #love #bible #grace #faith #church #scripture #blessed #spiritual #gospel #hope #christianmotivation #jesusisking #christianinfluencer #christianinspiration #truth @biblelensapp @youversion @hillsongnewjersey @shoreline_city @earlmcclellan (at Hillsong Church NJ) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJTrxI3rKSZ/?igshid=ypuqcr457gyj

Good morning 🇹🇿🇬🇧🌏#cupoftea☕️John the Baptist Prepares the Way 1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, 2 while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. 3 And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, 4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight. 5 Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth; 6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ ” 7 Then he said to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 9 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” 10 So the people asked him, saying, “What shall we do then?” 11 He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.” 12 Then tax collectors also came to be baptized, and said to him, “Teacher, what shall we do?” 13 And he said to them, “Collect no more than what is appointed for you.” 14 Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying, “And what shall we do?” So he said to them, “Do not intimidate anyone or accuse..#Luke3:1-38#PraisetheLord#WordofGod#wordoftheday#versesoftheday#newchapter#bibleverses#biblestudy#qoutesoftheday#prayernetwork#dailyinspiration#beblessedShalom#anzanamiBwanaYesu#biblia#NenolaMungu#Nenolaleo#Luka#barikiwa🙏 #eastafrica#tanzania🇹🇿 #asubuhinjema#chai#Coventry🇬🇧#lifestyleblogger#vlogger #mswahili🇹🇿#rachelsiwa🙏🏽❤️☕️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CGhLpx7nDha/?igshid=1io2u7bjdgg79

lucas-lowell:
Luke silently turns his eyes to that faint smile when he hears the stirring. “…you’re a dumbass, y’know that?” He snarls, not exactly in the mood for a joke right now. Especially now that Crane is up, he is more pissed off than concerned even if the anger stems from the said concern. “That too.” Scoffing, he flops down on the chair with his arms crossed tightly over the chest. “That’s it, when you’re off the bed, I’m draggin’ your ass to training. Pretty sure the Deckers gonna approve.” He is not exactly joking. Of course, the best self-defense always is not to get into a trouble to begin with, but considering where Crane is from, he doubts that is quite possible. Unless he goes after them first. “Don’t pull shits like again,” he sighs, before relenting by the tinniest margin and joking, “turnin’ up almost dead is my thing.

“Oh I know. All too well.” Lark scoffs. Luke’s clearly angry, Lark knows it’s not at him, but he still feels it. “Dunno if I’ll be up for training the moment I’m out of here, luv. But if you insist, I suppose we can manage it eventually.” Honestly as appealing the thought of being able to practice self defence is, Lark doubts it would do any good against dark magic witches. He clicks his tongue, “Lucas, you can’t just call dibs on almost dying. And hey, at least I wasn’t dropped on your doorstep. That’s something, right?” He hopes his tone provides some sense of levity for Luke, who still looks like he’s bitten into a rotten lemon. “But I’ll do my absolute damndest to avoid any hitmen dear ol’ da sends after me in the future. Sound good?”
