to anyone who had the fortune — or misfortune, depending on who you were and how you took it — of knowing sebastian bristow, it was no secret how sleeping happened to be one of his least favourite activities. even when he was in such a good frame of mind, when he was free of worries in paris, bas couldn’t bring himself to sleep in. back home he had established a morning routine ( perhaps the only routine in his life ) but the scene was different in paris. there weren’t three eager dogs jumping on him and demanding an early morning walk and food before he could go and get ready for the day ahead of him. however, he had adapted. whenever he woke up earlier than jasmine, which, truthfully, happened almost every day, bas found himself slipping into the first pieces of sportswear he could find and go for a jog. today, he had a change of heart. it’s a few minutes past ten when he slips back into their hotel room, a bouquet of pink roses on one hand, a latte in the other. careful not to make more noise than necessary as he closes the door and, shortly after, places down the flowers and the latte, bas reaches for the phone to whisper for a room service’s breakfast to come up which, fifteen or twenty minutes later, is being wheeled into their room. only then does he move back to bed, climbing atop the girl so he can leave a trail of soft kisses up her neck, ❝ baby... ❞ another kiss is planted on her nose, followed by a few more to each of her cheeks, ❝ time to rise, sunshine. ❞ he murmurs, drawing back to retrieve the bouquet when jasmine awakes and moves up, a smile threatening to appear as he extends the roses her way, ❝ bonjour, mon amour. ❞

01 — DOES BAS HAVE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS PARENTS?

he does. bas is a mummy’s boy and has been since he could remember. to this day he still considers aaleyah a friend besides being his mother and she’s definitely one of the people he relies the most on. when it comes to his dad, things are slightly different. because they both have strong personalities, they tend to clash and often end up fighting but at the end of the day, bas knows if he needs he can count on his father for whatever he needs. he often says his dad taught him to be strong and to an extent, he did which is something he’s beyond thankful for. overall, his relationship with his parents is really good.

02 — WHO DID BAS LAST SAY “I LOVE YOU” TO?

bas last said “i love you” to his girlfriend jasmine.

03 — DOES BAS REGRET ANYTHING?

not necessarily regret but nowadays, as he looks back to certain moments of his life, he wishes he did things differently. however, he doesn’t necessarily regret it because those events contributed to shape him into the person he is now. all of those were part of his growing process and he’s thankful for it.

04 — IS BAS INSECURE?

albeit coming across as an extremely confident person — which he, admittedly, is — there are still certain things that draw out the insecure side of him. all in all, he’s more confident than insecure but he definitely has his insecurities like everyone else does.

he’s currently in a relationship with jasmine fowler.

he’s never considered it, nor does he like to reminisce on the topic. bas believes in living each day to the fullest and making the most of his life, death isn’t something he ponders about so consequently, he has no idea of how he wants to die.

it was either breakfast or lunch, though i assume by now it’d be lunch. if we consider breakfast, it was probably brazilian tapioca with avocado, tomato and cashew cream, an acai bowl mixed with other fruits like raspberries, strawberries and banana and granola. if we consider lunch, it was most likely a salad like thai mango chicken salad, prawn and papaya salad or superfood salad. 

08 — DID BAS PLAY ANY SPORTS?

he used to play football ( or soccer ) when he was younger but he ended up quitting for lack of time. then he engaged in basketball which is a sport he’s really passionate for but due to an injury, he had to quit as well. he started boxing when he was fourteen and to this day he still does it. 

09 — DOES BAS BITE HIS NAILS?

no ; he finds it a nasty habit and he never really did bite his nails to be honest.

10 — WHEN WAS BAS LAST PHYSICAL FIGHT?

it was in a club towards the end of 2015. since then bas has never gotten into a physical fight with anyone.

i’d say he’s very much in love with jasmine, so it’s a little more than liking at this point.

he has ; both back when he was in university and had exams and whatnot, and more recently because of work. it’s been a good while since he did so, however.

no, he doesn’t.

he misses his godmother a lot but he barely talks about it because whenever he does, he’s left feeling sad afterwards. he also misses his grandfather from time to time.

bas has three dogs : rio, a black labrador retriever, remi, a white french bulldog and shenzi, a white chow chow. he used to have a bunny named noor but he’s left him with his mother because his sisters took better care of him than he did.

he’s happy with the life he leads, has no reasons to feel anything other than content.

he has, more than once and in different occasions.

no, he’s not. a few years back he used to have a pet tarantula named neha.

the someone was most definitely jasmine. i’m not sure where it was but somewhere in his house, probably his bedroom.

his plans for today don’t entail much, he’s in a lazy mood. he has no plans yet for next weekend.

he does, he wants kids in the future. he’s not sure how many but he wants, at least, two.

bas has both regular lobes pierced and his tragus, he also has his nose pierced and lately, he’s considering piercing his tongue yet again. so currently he has four piercings but that could easily turn into five again.

he aced all the maths and science related courses, and despite not trying hard and not being as good as he was in maths or science courses, he did amazingly at languages, arts related subjects and p.e. in university, there were no best subjects. he aced them all.

his godmother and his grandfather. he misses two or three old friends, like ivy who was his childhood best friend and who he doesn’t keep in touch with as much anymore.

besides jasmine because that has grown to be a constant craving now, he’s, weirdly enough, craving mint chocolate chip ice cream.

i suppose we can say he does ; trusting someone doesn’t come easy to him due to all the bad experiences he has had in the past. he’s grown to be more reserved and more wary around people due to all of those experiences too.

he’s such a light sleeper that for him it feels like he’s never soundly asleep to even get the chance to dream... and if he does dream, he never really remembers those.

no ; until a while back, he didn’t give people second chances at all. if you fucked things up with him or broke his trust, that was it. he wouldn’t trust you ever again. since then, he’s learnt how to grant certain people a second chance. however, that never happens too easily.

he forgives but he doesn’t forget.

so far? it’s definitely the best one.

his first kiss happened when he was around eleven and it was with his best friend from then, ivy. they were both messing around and wanted to know how it was like — they were both weirded out afterwards.

he’s assertive and arrogant, especially when it comes down to work. as a business person, he’s strict and stern and as a perfectionist, he doesn’t grant any space for rookie mistakes or to joke around. this, often, comes across as him being mean, whilst, truly, it’s just his way to guarantee things are done correctly.

bas would never change it, simply because it was his godmother who chose his name and because of the meaning it has to him. besides, he doesn’t hate his name and even if he did, he goes more by nicknames than sebastian.

considering the last person he kissed was his girlfriend, i think it’s obvious how it wouldn’t be hard at all for him to kiss her again.
