MARCH 21ST: LIVE AT THE LUXOR ACADEMY CAMPUS

"I'm here with Professor Crystal Abioye from Luxor University, who is here to tell us all about the educational fair happening right now on campus. Professor, can you explain what this event is all about?" the news anchor asked. The screen cuts to a woman standing outside one of the Luxor campuses, students and parents wandering around in the background exploring tables and booths, posters and banners advertising achievements of students decorating the scene.

She smiles and nods as she begins speaking. "This fair is all about our Honor Society students, they’re a talented bunch and have so much to be proud of. We wanted to take this opportunity to allow them to show off how hard they’ve been working and the bright futures they have ahead of themselves. We flew in professionals from all across the world representing various fields to speak with students and give them the chance to network and create amazing opportunities they can use when they eventually leave Luxor," Crystal explains.

The scene cuts to show the background, zooming in to take a better look at the location around them. Famous entrepreneurs, scientists, musicians, and more can be clearly seen in attendance, mingling along the crowds of students and their parents who were invited to attend. Honor students are standing behind booths of their work, making presentations that showcase each of their chosen majors. Other students are there as guests as well, milling around as they enjoy the scenery and array of tables.

 It cuts back to Crystal, who is beaming ear to ear at the camera. "I have always been passionate about showing my students the amazing things they’re capable of achieving after choosing to study with us. After years of teaching here, I can say these few are some of the best we have to offer. I'm glad the students all get a chance to see the opportunities available to them thanks to Luxor."

Kenzie puts so much value in how people see her, it must be exhausting. For someone so reliant on validation, the notes her therapist has on her would really make her feel like a failure. She must be used to it, considering everyone knows she’s a failure when it comes to being a good friend too. Maybe she could start caring more about herself, since no one else does.

FEBRUARY 18TH: BREAKING NEWS AT SABC !!!

"Mental health issues affect more people than ever. To help combat that, one school is taking further action to help their students with these issues." After the dramatic introduction by a well-known news anchor, the story cuts to Luxor Academy's South African campus and an interview with a regal woman with dark hair, whose byline reads Jennifer Wu, political science professor.

"It is extremely vital that students’ psychological needs are met for a successful educational environment, especially for young people. So many studies have proven that not dealing with these issues as soon as possible can cause more problems down the road. Luxor is dedicated to protecting and helping its students, and to do that, we are allocating three million dollars towards services to promote well-being and mental health. We are implementing programs involving workshops to help give students the tools to overcome these issues as well as more mental health counselors and a raise to all our counselors," she explains, her gaze determined and proud as she continues.

"The lack of community programs such as this ties into a much bigger stigma within our society, where we often prioritize making money rather than using it for the right reasons. Luxor does not want to further that sort of pattern, which is why we are taking initiative with these programs. I have taught at this school for over ten years now and have always pushed for us to implement programs like this. I'm proud that we have finally done so, and I hope this will be a step in the right direction for Luxor Academy."

With that, it cuts to a news anchor outside the school. "These programs are expected to start immediately across all Luxor locations. Hopefully other schools are able to incorporate similar programs soon.”

JANUARY 2ND: BREAKING NEWS AT TVNZ !!!

"The other night there was a scene at a school’s New Year's celebration, where a group of students accused their classmates, families, and even the school's administration of committing several serious crimes," announced the news anchor into the microphone, her expression serious as she looked into the camera before clips of the actual scene at New Year's began to play on the screen, the voice on the school’s overhead speakers accusing Ruby Mensah, Richard Smith, Rob Ioane, and Carew D'Mello clearly audible even in the video.

Once it was done playing, the camera returned to the reporter, panning out to show she was standing in front of the Luxor campus. "According to the information we have received, a group calling themselves The Uprising have done this before, during a family celebration just last month. While the student involved last time was caught, it doesn't seem to have stopped the group. The allegations were very severe, though at this time, none of them have been confirmed to be true."

On the screen, the school came into focus, though this time with some of the staff clearly in view, questions being shouted at them about the video and the events going on at the school. Then, an interview popped up, the chyron stating the older professor was named Grant Ainsworth. "These rogue students are troublesome, but we haven't been taking them too seriously, even though this isn't the first - or second - time this has occurred. Their antics are like some sort of overdramatic prank, far too immature for an institution such as Luxor. Because of the nature of the accusations, the school is obviously looking into them," the man explained, shaking his head. "These last few years have been hard on everyone since the merging of the two schools, but it's no excuse for students to continuously act out like this. In all my years of teaching, I have never seen this happen at any other school."

 With that final comment, the segment cut back to the reporter, still standing in front of Luxor. "No other comments have been made at this time."

One would think that after The Unhinged got their wish - some more students joining their side at the revote - they might finally be somewhat appeased. In fact, it just made them angrier. Still, some students did not stand with them. Their acolytes failed to help them get all of the student body to join their cause. And if you thought they were crazy before, that is nothing to how they acted afterwards.

At the destressing event thrown by the school, The Unhinged took out their anger on those who were on their side. They presented five FOR students and asked everyone to vote for the two people they least wanted to hear the secrets of, to save them from being revealed. Once one person was removed, the rest had a choice. They could reveal their own secrets or that of someone very close to them. Who did they reveal? Themselves or their sibling, best friend, or maybe partner?

Right afterwards, the students headed back to New York. They enjoyed their prom while hearing little from The Unhinged until graduation. There, they began revealing secrets, specifically the major ones that would affect the students' families. Dark secrets the families had tried to keep would be revealed to all. In their anger, the families started the process of pulling funding and suing Luxor. The school tried to pretend that all was well, but they were all over the news with the recent reveals and lawsuit. The students began to see this loss of funding as clubs and sports were cut completely or budgets were halved. For the aristocratic students, this was not something they were used to. These budget cuts were most keenly felt during the school's summer trip. Instead of going to Monte Carlo, they went to Atlantic City.

Luxor was lost, unsure how they would continue on. Luckily, professor Grant Ainsworth had a solution. Carnifex had been working on their comeback for a while now and in return for bailing out Luxor, they would be taking over. The lawsuit was settled and Grant himself even brought forward those behind The Unhinged to be punished. Ironic, considering he had been the one to manipulate and plant the seeds of The Unhinged's agenda to students unhappy with how the school had treated them when The Circle and Crusade had been in charge. The founder of The Unhinged had looked to Grant for guidance and advice, but had been played. Grant got what he wanted in the end. The previously beloved Luxor Academy would from then forward be known as Carnifex Academy.

As the room chattered, a student emerged from the crowd, their identity disguised by the uncanny elephant head they wore. "What a lovely evening for us all to be gathered here together," the costumed student rejoiced and held up a glass of champagne. The mascot head was defaced, it was grimy and cut up, and blood leaked from its eyes. "Nice to see all these families reunited! It must be such a relief to only have to act like you give a shit a few days a year, right?" Whoever this was, they were certainly not apart of the hired entertainment for the night. The students stirred in their seats, and their eyes darted around the room in search for an explanation. The last staff member hadn't been seen for a while, now as the students of Luxor looked around, there was still no one of authority in sight.

“The last time you were all here, you witnessed a fraction of what Luxor Academy allows its students to endure. Graduation couldn't even be held in a joyful manner, instead each program was tampered to destroy parts of the student body, and you, for some reason, still allow your children to attend this school.” The battered head sneered, its wide, expressionless eyes seemed to glare across the room.

"The administration is responsible for our students crash landing onto a deserted island where they were forced to endure a rainstorm, hallucinogenic well water, snakes, quicksand, attack monkeys for several days. Did you know about the dead bodies they found on the island? Did they even bother telling you three students ended up kidnapped in the middle of the woods?” they demanded. Audible gasps emitted from the crowd, new students and oblivious parents shared fear about the undisclosed severity of antics that occurred at Luxor for the past few years.

“What about the rest of the shit that’s been kept under your nose? The avalanche that trapped several students. What about the student who was dropped from the ceiling? Or the fact Logan fucking disappeared and no one gave a shit until he showed up again traumatized and broken. Our lives have been put in danger over and over again, and no one is doing anything. When the gallery was set on fire, we all knew it was the Crusade. Just like they started the maze fire, yet we are the ones being blamed?! You know the evils that have been allowed to take place here and you’re perfectly fine with it. You’re all so obsessed yourselves you don’t even care what’s happened to your family, your blood. How could you be okay with an innocent man being shoved down the stairs?

"But your loyalty has never been about love or compassion. All you fucks care about is money. You're selfish. Despicable. Only the scum of the earth could uphold an institution like this,” the deranged elephant spat. The student lifted their wine glass, and they moved the elephant head in an attempt to guzzle down some champagne using the opening of the eyes. Most of the liquid splashed uselessly to the floor, but the bloody fur of the elephant head was soaked. “I wouldn't put it past the school to pay people off to maintain their stupid reputation, and I wouldn't put it past any of the parents here to take that dirty money.

“You thought the last time you came was the only time that students were exposed like that? We shouldn’t even be surprised by how horrible some of you parents are. And we do have the Circle and the Crusade to thank for being aware of that.  Without them, we wouldn’t know that……”

Tiva has a vengeful streak, she’s so eager to get back at people who hurt her. She enjoys it even. So why wouldn’t she want to get back at the school? At the very least, her therapist, since no one stopped us from taking the file from their office. Or is that part all talk, just like her supposedly only being into girls?

We're getting TIRED - somehow after all this time, people still don't see the truth of what Luxor hides behind its walls. The school is S C R A M B L I N G to cover their asses.

Mental wellness? As if!

This little side project of theirs brought so much to light, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see what everyone has been so keen to protect. We got our hands on the notes from the counselors’ initial student evaluations. Most of Luxor still remains BLIND to the administration’s incompetency. They can’t keep you safe, and they only pretend to care about your pretentious personal issues.

And you say you support us, but what have you done to try and help us? NOTHING !!

Well, we’re giving you a second chance.

Here's a little sneak peek of the information from your classmate's file. Find them and drop a couple hints that you have this information. Do whatever you have to with this info to get them to join our cause. Blackmail, manipulation, threats, whatever you need. After all, if the school can't even safeguard this information from us, why do you still regard them as your authorities? They will not protect any of you, and you’re running out of time to keep us on your side.

OOC DESCRIPTION

Hey loves !! We’re going to distribute the second batch of IC character tasks and wanted to fill everyone in on some of the details about completing them.

Please try to post the starter before March 23rd. Your muse cannot reveal IC that it was a task sent by the Unhinged, but we encourage OOC plotting and discussion between the muns of the characters mentioned. Please remember, no one is aware IC that these tasks are being assigned by The Unhinged except the person being given the task !!

Failure to complete the task will result in the Unhinged retaliating against your muse with consequences far worse than the assigned task. The idea is if your character does the task themselves, they’re in control of the execution of the conflict, whereas if The Unhinged is doing it, your character has no choice but to deal with the consequences.

Keep in mind, this is a secrets rp, so your muse’s secret should be something they would do nearly anything to hide - including doing the dirty work of the Unhinged. If you feel your muse’s current secret is not something they would do everything in their power to protect, we highly urge you to resubmit new secrets to the main.

"Did you think your private lives were suddenly safe just because the Crusade got caught? You all thought you'd get away with the nasty things you're guilty of.  Don't you remember what we told you idiots? We are The Uprising. We will not tolerate the rampant corruption on campus for any longer,” the arrogant voice boomed over the hedges of the garden, confirming the looming concern of many students. It was difficult to tell if the Unhinged truly held productive intentions, but most of the crowd assumed this was just another righteous group turned sour. 

"Corruption such as our first contestant..." the voice over the loudspeaker paused, as if basking in the anticipation, glee coating the words as they began revealing the deepest, darkest secrets of the students who hadn't supported them. "RUBY MENSAH! She's one of Luxor's upstanding students; she even managed to slither her way into the National Honor's Society. Ruby had most of us thinking she'd actually earned her academic scholarship, when in reality her senior year grades were so crappy she needed a family friend to call in a favor so she could be here. And it worked, didn't it, Ruby? Because Luxor doesn't care about talent or skill or worth... So long as you got the money or you have the connections, the Luxor administration will look the other way."

TW ADDICTION, TW DRUG USE "The second lucky contestant is RICHARD SMITH!" The announcement continued on as the students were frozen in horror, the voice on the loudspeaker only growing more exuberant. "He thought Luxor's shiny prestige could distract away from his reliance on sleeping pills. Who can blame him? It's not like any of the staff here could give a fuck that he's addicted to popping pills."

"Third up is.....ROB IOANE! Always out to save the world, right the wrongs of the rich and save the turtles or whatever the fuck else they are always going on about. We're all just counting down the days 'til they finally get arrested for all that whining and protesting. But for one who is always talking about doing the right thing, don't you find it hypocritical how they ended up paying for Luxor? Blackmailing someone to pay for tuition isn't entirely out of the wheelhouse of people around here, but doing so with a fake paternity test? Now that takes some balls. Did your real dad not want you, Rob? Or did you just choose your "dad" because he could afford this place?" The member of the Unhinged yelled over the loudspeaker, unable to contain their rage, despite the revenge they were inflicting.

TW PROSTITUTION "And finally. Last but not least. CAREW D’MELLO." As they announced the final student, their tone grew cold and menacing, returning to the haughty composure of how this had started. "He lies to his own parents about having a scholarship when he actually pays for his tuition by selling stolen cars, at least when he's not illegally racing them. It's been said that he isn't above selling himself either. Guess the Luxor administration aren't the only ones without any standards.”

"Open your eyes, you're all fucking money bags to them. Luxor is a trap. It's all a facade to draw people in, and once you're here, the school doesn't give a shit about you, so long as they get your tuition. You will continue to be preyed on, until we burn this place to the fucking ground," the voice continued, the threatening words coming out in a growl. "We will not be ignored, Elephants. There’s plenty more to come for you losers. Soon enough, you’ll all pay the price for choosing the wrong side," the voice spat. The static of the intercom halted, and the voice dissipated into the gentle winds of the night.

A loud roar broke the silence of the Grand Hall, and the elephant head bit back the rest of their tears as they winded their arm and smashed their champagne glass against the wall. The loud crash caused many of the guests to wince, though the elephant head moved on as soon as the champagne sloshed to the ground.

"You all call us The Unhinged. Why? Because we call out corruption as we see it, because we are students like you who are tired,” the student’s voice calmed. The other Luxor students exchanged looks amongst each other, as they realized they were now being addressed. “We are The Uprising, and we are taking a stand against those who perpetuate the evil that flows through the veins of Luxor. We are your allies. We can be a comrade or a lifeline, but there is nothing you can do to stop us from serving our justice. Luxor Academy will not go unpunished for its blights against the students they were meant to protect."

Unbeknownst to the students and families in the Grand Hall, the staff members were locked in a nearby classroom. For the duration of the deranged student's speech, they were trapped to prevent anyone from intercepting The Unhinged's message. Finally, the staff climbed out of a window to free themselves. The doors to the Grand Hall barged open, and the disheveled staff members rushed into the room. Spotting the disfigured elephant head, one of the professors stormed the ranting student. They were restrained, and as they were dragged out of the Grand Hall, yelled at the Harvest Feast guests.  “Just one question for you as you leave your children in this Hell hole: is this really the hill you’re willing to die on?”

The door slammed shut behind The Unhinged student's exit, and a regal literature professor stepped forward to address the room. The professor smoothed his suit, clearly flustered as he started to speak to the parents. Profuse apologies were the only thing he could offer, an uncomfortable attempt to brush over what had just been revealed about a good portion of the student body. The orchestra was cued up to start playing again, a couple awkward notes hit in the rush to cover up the suffocating silence that enveloped the families, until they smoothly launched into another piece of classical music, leaving the students of Luxor with nothing to do but begin stilted conversations with their families, unsure how to acknowledge the - very typical - interruption that had just occurred.

Isn't she ever going to stick up to her mother? To the wretched people like her mother? Or does she need another few lives to be ruined to come to her senses?

An odd circumstance, for someone who insists her challenges are so normal. Perhaps you can instill her belief that everyone will let her down at some point....Surely she didn't think her therapist was exempt from that?

Noor feels she is very similar to Jack. People don't see that though, thanks to how manipulative she can be to ensure others see whatever she wants them to - make sure you mention you see right through this, just like the therapist did.
