Jack: Ah, you’ve returned. Our new friend is doing much better—Goodness! What happened to all of you?

Panel 2

Jonathan: It’s over now; you are safe.

Robert: From The Beetle, perhaps, but…

Jonathan: But what?

Panel 3

Robert: But…there was nothing I could have done differently last night. The workhouse turned me away. I try not to make a habit of staying in abandoned buildings or on the streets, but that night I had no choice. Is there some way I can protect myself from these things?

Panel 4

Jonathan: There are many monsters in the world, and we don’t know for sure how to defeat them all. But there may be one way we could help you. You told Dr. Seward you were a clerk?

Panel 5

Griffin: I still can’t believe you punched him and I missed it! And after all that he got away?

Arthur: Between the unexpected pest problems and his lab exploding, we were a trifle occupied at the time.

Mina: How is our new friend?

Jonathan: After all the excitement earlier I was able to coax her back into the bag. I do wish we had a collar for her so the rest of you can help keep track of her.

Mina: I meant our new friend upstairs.

Jonathan: Oh yes, he should be down shortly!

Arthur: I believe I have an extra collar around here somewhere from when the dogs were smaller—perhaps one of them will fit the cat?

In the League of Extraordinary Gentlefolk update from a few weeks ago, I noticed that Jack goes from sitting on Quincey's lap to standing blushingly upright within just two panels, and I wondered what happened in the moments when our focus was on Jekyll. I had to draw it:

Are there any Vampire Harker Power Couple in any books or comics or anywhere?

None that I can think of in traditional media/publishing :(

But there's plenty of good stuff here on Tumblr!

They're not vampires in it but you've got the excellent excellent @lxgentlefolkcomic where the Harkers and the rest of the Crew of Light are continuing to battle eldritch beings after Dracula /whilst/ being in love and in character

@see-arcane has some excellent Vampire Harkers stuff on their Substack

And the above and me and several other authors have made a Bad End AU thats got Vampire Harker Power Couple called "Blood of My Blood" thats just about to wrap up if you want to check it out!

(Since it is a collab AU that's been written between November of 2023 and now there's a lot of chapters but they're of varying lengths. Think of it as a written out television series with like, three seasons 😅 )

Edit: Also not vampires but ghosts--the amazing @theholmwoodfoundation Podcast! Only one episode out so far but they're already nailing the Jonmina dynamic 👌

Panel 2 Arthur: Well, we can’t just go around calling her “invisible cat.” Perhaps Ellen? Jack: Or Greta? Voice (offscreen): Mr. Harker is the one who found her—perhaps he ought to choose the name?

Panel 3 Jonathan: You look a right sight better than when you first arrived, Mr Holt!  Robert: I think I’m ready now for that fresh start.

Panel 4 Mina: So, what will you name the cat? Jonathan: How about… Paprika! Griffin: Oy! Cut it out!
