nah honestly it's hard for me to NOT have hope for the sims 4. im still holding out hope that there will be pack refreshes and that they'll actually listen and deliver on what we've demanded for years.

i was forced to stop playing in 2015 because i lost the cd and i didnt have a computer that could run it. I only started playing again in 2023. coming back to see how many improvements had been made was insane. actually mindblowing.

things i never even considered being added to the game were a reality.

when i stopped playing the game there werent dlcs AT ALL yet. to come back to have 80 something???? unreal.

and even since ive been playing again, so many new features have come out that have been revolutionary. the apply all button in cas, the tattoo features, curved pools, not to mention all of the recent packs have been bangers.

And this is just a small portion of revolutionary changes yall

until the sims team announces they are not longer going to update the game or release new content for it, i am always going to have hope it will be improved.

the perfectionist and cas enthusiast in me is grieving because reshade/gshade and blender don't work on mac. was on like page eighteen of google trying to find a mac and sims friendly shader 😭

when i saw this ask i literally squealedddddd !!! i love the sims so i definitely have some thoughts about how chronically online!reader would play the sims

Her setup is really simple, like it’s literally just her and her Macbook that is OVERHEATING because of all the mods and CC she had downloaded on there

When y/n and rafe first started dating, she ofc started a household. she spent hours in CAS tirelessly working to get her and rafe as accurate as possible then spent even more hours building them a cute little cottage.

“Who is that?” Rafe asked, pointing to the Sim on y/n’s computer screen. “That’s you!” Y/n said excitedly, zooming in as Rafe’s Sim pouted and nursed a drink. Rafe furrowed his brows, taking the laptop from her and looking at his digital version even closer. The character had on a polo and khaki shorts, his hair falling in front of his grim expression in greasy curtain bangs. “That looks nothing like me.” Rafe said gruffly. ��I’m not that skinny.” “That looks exactly like you.” Y/n pointed out, taking the laptop back from him. “And you are that skinny.”

One evening when she was lounging around tanneyhill, y/n built it in the Sims. she even went as far as asking demanding rafe to fetch the floorplans from his dad’s office, to which rafe grumbled before eventually relenting.

Definitely locks Rafe’s Sim in the basement if he pisses her off (shoutout mandy, iykyk)

“Where am I?” Rafe asked, watching as y/n’s Sim danced with their digital daughter named Ra-y/n (“It’s a mashup of our names, like twilight.” she had said). “Uhhh, I don’t know.” Y/n said as she clicked on Rafe’s icon, the game zooming in on his Sim as he laid on a bed in the basement, locked in a makeshift dungeon. “What the fuck?!” Rafe scoffed. “Why am I in jail?” “You pissed me off.” Y/n shrugged before going back to focus on her own Sim.

Y/n built households for all her friends, including the Pogues, who lived next door to y/n and Rafe in Tanneyhill, and Kelce and Topper who lived across the street, all created exceptionally accurately.

One evening she decided to let the game go on its own, watching the chaos that unfolded amongst the Sims, and of course live-tweeting/posting it for all of her loyal followers: Topper got hexed by Sarah, JJ and Rafe repeatedly tried to kill eachother, Kiara became homeless, John B went to jail for stealing a jar of pickles, and Kelce kidnapped Cleo and Pope’s baby.

Let Rafe play one time… he didn’t ask to play again.

“How do I shoot him?” Rafe asked as he clicked on JJ’s Sim, his brows furrowed in concentration. “Don’t shoot him!” Y/n said. “You’ll go to jail!” “I’ll get away with it.” Rafe clicked through the different interactions before accidentally selecting one. JJ and Rafe’s Sims embraced before starting to kiss, which caused y/n to burst out laughing. “NO! NO! NO!” Rafe shouted at the top of his lungs as he pressed buttons in a panic, the interactions continuing back and forth as their Sims started moving towards the bed, “Oh my god they’re gonna ‘Woo-Hoo’!” Y/n said, tears in her eyes as she watched. “What the fuck is ‘Woo-Hoo’ — OH MY GOD NO! MAKE IT STOP!” Rafe shouted, shielding his eyes as their Sims began to ‘Woo-Hoo’... the interaction especially graphic due to the mods on y/n’s computer.

New Simblr Introduction ♡

Although I've had this account for about a month now, I guess I can still be considered a "new simblr" because I'm relatively small, and when I did this the first time Tumblr didn't show me in tags so I didn't get any reach... So here we go again!

I've been playing Sims since 2016 and was inspired by simtubers and simblrs like @farfallasims, @pixelglam, @marilynjeansims @largetaytertots and @oshinsimblr to create my own Simblr and share my work.

I am a heavy modder and CC user, and use maxis-mix CC. I would consider my gameplay style cozy and I usually play happy family dynamics. However, I'm very open minded and love to see other gameplay styles!

I (used to) play sims on a 2020 Macbook and have taken years to work out how to make it run decently with minimal lag and good graphics. Now I play on a shitty Lenovo Z13 ThinkPad which gives me the ability to use shaders! NOW I play on an Asus Zenbook 14 which is amazing!! (Let’s ignore that I went through 3 computers since I’ve had this account)

On my account, you'll see CAS screenshots, lookbooks, sim dumps, CC recommendations, photoshop tutorials, gameplay photos and more! I am very WCIF friendly so if you ever want to ask a question I'm more than happy to answer it. Also, sim requests are always open! :) Just send an ask (for WCIF and requests)

Sometimes, I wonder if re-installing The Sims games can be considered a hobby on its own? I have just installed The Sims 2 on my Steam Deck because the software I was using to run WIndows on my Macbook ran out of its subscription and I can't afford to renew it at the moment. I am actually posting this from the Steam Deck as well, because you can use it as a linux computer too. So far I have managed to reinstall many mods and I was smart enough to make a backup of my most recent CC folder on Google Drive, so I just had to download it here and I am almost ready. For some reason, the hair folder was not saved, so I'll need to take a look at DeeDee and my own archives for some of my favorite meshes.
