asian spotted tortoise beetle (Aspidimorpha miliaris)

i cant even begin to explain how happy it makes me when i find a tortoise beetle especially a species i havent seen before... i personally dont see them often at all... and all beetle fans know tortoise beetles are some of the best with their translucent shells and their tippy tappy stompers

this is basically the largest tortoise beetle ive seen and its only as wide as my thumbnail... all the other species ive seen so far (which arent many) are much more tiny

a small regret i have is not getting any clear pics of the cute beady eyes they have... you can kinda see it in the second pic tho

hello my dears... rare jumping spider with a bushy white moustache

jumping spiders are among my favourite bugs to find and ive seen so many different kinds... its always exciting when i finally spot a new species

this white moustached portia (Portia labiata) snuck up on me outta nowhere and i instantly recognised it from its signature bushy facial hair. like most other jumpers ive met it had a very curious and lively personality… it quickly became one of my favourite finds
