Hi nonnie! 🥰 That is a very good question for which there isn't really one single answer.

As far as just liking a show, it doesn't take a whole lot for me to like something. I'm a very, very easy girl to please. As long as there's at least one thing about a show that's working for me, be it the dynamic at play, the actors, the premise, the chemistry between the actors, or whatever else, then I'll have a good time.

Fourever You and Battle of the Writers are really good examples. I would never sit here and tell you that either of those shows were masterpieces (they were hot ass messes, bless them) but I had a GREAT TIME watching them.

Loving is a little different. When I was making my list of favorite shows of 2024, I did notice some commonalities between all the shows that really stuck with me.

A combination of great acting, character writing, and dialogue will almost always get me. I love when an actor makes me love everything they do with their face. I love when I hear a line of dialogue so good it sets up camp in my head. I live for these things.

But honestly, a lot of it is also vibes. I have to like something to love it. Even if it has all the components that I like, it has to have the right vibe. It can have all the components I like and I won't necessarily love it because the vibe is off. What is that vibe? I DON'T KNOW! But I know it when I feel it.

There were a few on my 2024 list that made it onto my all time faves list, namely Unknown and Our Youth. I didn't add 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us since it wasn't a 2024 release but that one is definitely an all-timer as well (go watch that show it's like heroin you'll love it trust).

Of the shows I'm currently watching, When It Rains, It Pours is really, REALLY gunning for a spot on my faves list. I was merely intrigued by it before episode 3 hit and it suddenly clicked for me. ThamePo is really hitting too but for entirely different reasons that are more vibe and dynamic and chemistry based.

TL;DR: If a show's got great acting, great characters, and great dialogue I'll probably love it. Everything else is purely vibes.
