OC stuff is dangerous wdym you just think about that guy and you feel things. You made that thing and it’s come such a long way like they’ve grown and fleshed out and you’re proud of them. And there’s an indescribable feeling of pride and tenderness and passion and fondness. That ☝️thingie is My Thing and I love them
#_text#put music on that makes you think of them while drawing them and feel one billion emotion and it’s like wow. hits you how much you care#each little brick placed being one more step to making them feel truly and wholly alive. something with hopes and dreams and fears#Rory has really been coming into his own lately and it makes me kinda emotional and I really do not get emotional about much#I really need to elaborate on some of it with art and just substantiate some of my thoughts and feelings cus there’s just so much#I don’t wanna be tooting my own horn cus this post is not just meant for me. it’s for anyone who’s going through their own process#of making a guy or refining an existing guy. be proud of yourself and step back to admire how they’ve grown!! you’d be surprised by#the various ways things form and add up to create something amazing and uniquely you. all the various sources of input and inspiration#that really is the joy of creation to me. and I love seeing how others characters grow and change and evolve. being part of that process#is especially deeply meaningful and important to me. nothing makes me happier than being a small part of someone else’s work#as someone who hates failing and loathes themselves deeply. I can sincerely say with my whole heart that just trying is an amazing step#put down literally anything. see what does and doesn’t work. get the feel for the kind of person they are and then refine that.#mix logic with your gut feeling. emotion with reason. use existing lore or make it up! creation and success is not linear and#it definitely is deeply demoralising at times and as someone pretty cynical about the whole thing. and who hates myself#I can say it really is worth it. your ideas are worth it and even if you don’t believe in yourself yet#the spirit of my post at least is cheering for you!! because seven+ months ago I was in a pit of nothingness and just.#making zero and putting her out there for the first time has changed so much for the better for me#I will always cheer on anyone’s OC stuff. they - and you - are awesome and should exist and be put out there#thank u for reading. this has been on my mind lately a few times so wanted to ramble

Beast cookies x shape shifting reader that mirrors the beasts.
Cw: Eternal Sugar cookies section is a little toxic, non descriptive violence in Burning Spice cookies section.
Type: Romantic
Written pre silent salt and hollyberry awakening

Mystic Flour
🌾 - You were some odd cookie she found on the outskirts of the pagoda, your form innocent( suspiciously so). She lets Cloud Haetae bring you to her, where under her stern gaze you crumble and reveal yourself as a shapeshifter who was very hungry and just trying to hide from the horrors of the woods surrounding the mountains. She allows you to stay under the condition you cause zero issues and help when asked.
🌾 - Whether it be for survival or fun she does not mind. At first she sees your constantly shifting form as a waste of energy as she sees everything. She watches you jump around with Cloud Haetae from afar in shifting forms, you copying theirs and chasing them around, though neither of you realize it.
🌾 - “Your dough is ever shifting,” she starts, approaching you from the shadows nearly scaring you into another body. “Just because you may change does not mean you will not become one with nothing.” She says giving you no time to respond before she leaves.
🌾 - Despite her coldness, she begins to comes around one day. The ever changing faint colors struck across your form fade to white as shes speaking to you, a stark flour white with gold caressing the edges. It almost looked like mold spores on bread. Her lack of care turns to curiosity. You clearly did not intend to do that, nor did you realize you did it.
🌾 - She lets it go but soon comes to the conclusion (after some stalking) that your form only changes for her, and it got more prevalent when she was closer. It was like blushing, she assumed.
🌾 - She began to learn what each color meant, how you were feeling before you even spotted her staring through her eyelashes. She noticed that gradually some of those colors, particularly negative ones, were swallowed up by the pale spots.
🌾 - One evening she invites you to walk with her, she decides to put a bit more warmth in her voice to coax the white spots out of you. It works swimmingly, white and gold dot your cheeks and body. She draws her hand to cup your face which silences you as she still appears so distant. Her thumb traces the dots as they grow in size from her touch. “This suits you,” she speaks calmly as always. You appear confused but she simply turns your head to a golden pool nearby, which you stare into and in a fit of embarrassment try to explain yourself. She puts one hand up to silence you then walks away.
🌾 - She begins to invite you on walks more often, any time she leaves her meditating room she has you by her side. She gets you clothing to compliment her outfit and the occasional white gold dots on your form. She also seems to come to you for help more often, having you transform into something large to move stuff, or something sneaky to keep an eye on possible intruders, sometimes just for her own entertainment(though she wont admit that she’s entertained). But most of all she likes to see how much of herself carries into each form, how close you hold her to your heart and subsequently apathy as a whole.

Burning Spice
🏜️ - You were a myth, a tale of a creature which infested the sands and swallowed citys from within. A tale lost as kingdoms fell, but not to Burning Spice. He remembered hearing of another kingdom arising, successful and plentiful until its food was missing along with half the population. Only few who saw you lived to describe you.
🏜️ - On a particularly slow day, The Great Destroyer decides to find this creature. He did not bring the spice swarm or tell them when he left, he did not even make his presence known. He went missing for a week hunting, and finally he found tracks. In a deep orange canyon, footprints lead into it. They weren’t cohesive, some looked like the track of a large snake, some like the claws of a mighty bird but some appeared to be cookie like, thats how he knew he found this monster.
🏜️ - He travelled into the canyon, which lead into a cave. Various writings and drawings on the wall, they would be warnings to a lesser spice but not him. He entered the den, various barrels of stolen goods littered the corners, the stench of jam filled the air. He drew his parashu and struck it against the ground, challenging this monster to appear.
🏜️ - And that you did, appearing as a scaly creature you attack from behind. A cheap tactic which earned you the upper hand for a moment before it became even, which is when it really started. The battle was enthralling for one with no watchers. Burning spice had to adapt to each new form you chose every few seconds with only a second to spare each time. But then he got a good hit in after you get a few good marks on him, and reflecting your newfound weakness you turn into a cookie, knelt on the floor. He doesn’t crumble you though, he takes the flat edge of his blade to lift your face, inspecting you. He doesn’t see weakness though, he sees a fighter who had nothing to fight for.
🏜️ - So he makes an offer, he takes you in and you fight for him. You sniff out mutiny’s. You spar when he asks, and you are given something better than a smelly cave, you gain a place beside him. You take the offer, frankly you were probably bored.
🏜️ - You were welcomed into the spice swarm, showed the ropes and made yourself known and feared. The more battles you fought, the more you gained the admiration of Burning Spice. But the more you fought beside him the more he saw something within the ever changing form, things that stayed the same. Markings that would appear along your dough, similar to his.
🏜️- One day, you’re sparring with him. He gets you on your knees after some hits and pulls your gaze down to your chest where a crude upside down triangle sat engraved in your flesh. “How befitting, a changing form and I alone am the mark consistent in you.” He grabs your chin to make you look at him, your hand now roughly brought to his souljam, palm pressed against it. “We are one of the same, you and i. Your change brings about destruction which rivals my own, be forever by my side and we will never be questioned.”

Eternal sugar
🌷 - The garden was like sound bouncing off a wall and back at her. Every little change, addition, subtraction she felt. So when something had substantial wormed its way in, silently under the cloak of the night, she was determined to find it.
🌷 - The day after the arrival of this quiet trespasser, she called a gathering. It wasn’t direct, she simply brought out luxurious snacks and cushions to a clearing and invited all her angels to relax. In the murmurs of conversation and the gentle eating and drinking, she saw you. Directionless, looking at the others to figure out what to do and avoiding her gaze. At first, she wanted to corner you in isolation, question who you were as a sickeningly sweet smell attached to you, then watch you run off into the woods knowing your fate. But as she watched you, socially awkward and honestly acting like a confused little animal, she had second thoughts.
🌷 - You were in a small group of angels, stiffly standing and fidgeting subtly with your hands. The conversation did not include you, you were just there to seem like you were supposed to be here, in actuality you were just wearing a mask. You meant these angels no harm, in all honesty these people gave you a weird feeling. You planned to leave once the cake hound packs had migrated away, as tempting as it was to stay in this paradise.
🌷 - “Are you enjoying the food?” A voice appears behind you and a soft hand is placed on your shoulder, sending a shiver up your spine. The angels in the circle you were in turn to the cookie behind you and smile, hum and nod. You force a smile on your face and nod with them despite the lurching fear in your stomach. She gently laughs, you can see the shadow her massive wings bobbing as she does. “Everything is attuned to your desires, you will always get what you deserve~…” She speaks, her hand slowly leaving your shoulder. You catch a glimpse of her leaving, she was looking at you right back. You had to leave tonight.
🌷 - Night could not have arrived sooner, once darkness settles and all the angels were fast asleep, lounging on comfy pillows. You’re sneaky, while you weren’t good at talking with other cookies you were a survivor. You stayed quiet, scentless, occasionally changing small parts of your form to make getting around quick and easy. You then get to the end, the wall. Before you could even walk out of the tree line towards it, you watch Eternal Sugar walk in your path, she must have been on a stroll. She spotted you, but instead of acting suspicious she spoke as if they were upset.
🌷 - “Little Angel, why ever would you be wondering this late?~ Only an unhappy mind works in the dark,” she spoke like poisoned honey. Her hands out as if gesturing them closer. She saw the unnatural way the moon caught in your eyes, like how a wolfs eyes glint in the light. But you still walked closer, worry etched on your face. “Just… clearing my head,” you replied head slightly downturned. Even through the facade she could see your fear, your need to change yourself to survive, you would turn down heaven to re-enter hell and now she understood who you were.
🌷- She brings you closer, pushing hair from your face and wiping away dirt. She has already decided you’re in need of her help, not extermination. She takes you with her on her stroll, talking to you like you were another angel who was just having a rough day but she knew the truth. You, of course, knew that you were stuck, reading between the lines you knew she was now watching you under the guise you were unhappy in a realm of happiness and she would have to keep an eye out.
🌷- The longer you stay, the more docile you become. At any touch in the past, fangs would grow in your mouth and spikes would shoot from your body to ward away whoever unfortunate enough to be close. You used to jump from cliff to cliff, tree to tree, soar among clouds but now you sat comfortably next to Eternal Sugar cookie in the garden.
🌷-You were aware you had forgotten who you were, and she was too. She knew when she saw your wings slowly turn pink at the ends with upside down hearts on the flight feathers you were hers. She knew when she leaned in to kiss you and saw streaks of pink in your hair you were now domesticated. You were happy now, just as long as you never remembered how freedom tasted and only how sweet happiness did.

Shadow Milk
🃏 - You’re not sure how you came to be, but when preforming tricks for coins and scraps of food you always said you were born from a powerful witch mixing a rare dough that has never been used since, making you one of a kind. That very well may be true, but no one was certain, you seemed to act like it was.
🃏 - Shadow Milk loved himself some entertainment, so when he heard two cookies chatting about a rare shapeshifting cookie who preformed tricks for coins he snuck away in the form of a little villager and made his way to the town where he saw you nimbly shifting from mouse to elephant, then as someone tossed a coin you turned into a hound, balancing it on your nose as it spun, earning applause from the small crowd. After that most seemed to depart, he took the chance to come talk to you.
🃏 - He approached the front of the crowd which was beginning to die a bit more. “My, My what magic you have!” He says puting on his best amazed voice as you turn back into a cookie and stuff coins in your pocket putting on a smirk. “Its not magic, its just me. You’ll never find another like i,” Then you promptly mirror his disguise, “who can become another like you!”
🃏 - He was sold to say the least, he knew he needed you as a performer, to cause chaos and spread lies on his behalf. So he speaks, grinning widely “how charming! I know someone who is looking for performers, perhaps i can put in a good word?” You respond with a hesitant look but he pulls out a bag of coins, clinking loudly and you respond eagerly “where and when?” He gives you directions to the spire, though he framed it as a different location as to not scare you away or make you realize who you were talking to.
🃏 - The next day you venture out, only motivated by the jingle of coins in your mind. Strangely, the world seems more and more disjointed the further you travel. Soon you arive at a mighty spire surrounded by a courtyard and the realization hits that you were lured in. You begin to walk away but that same bag of coins is dropped in front of you some distance away, you look up to see The Master of Deceit sitting on a limb grinning ear to ear.
🃏 - You’re fearful, the first thing you do is beg for mercy which he just laughs and hangs off the tree by one of his feet. When you finally quiet he makes his offer, you be his performer and he’ll give you all the bag and you’d get to live in the spire. “You’re already so, so good at lying so its not like you’re going into this with no experience!” He’d say. You hadn’t heard of this occurring before but the offer was too tempting to pass up, you take him up on the offer. You realize soon after the bag is filled with pyrite(fools gold), unfortunately you are unable to back out.
🃏 - You become quite adjusted to the nature of the spire and its inhabitants. The same way you always changed, it did as well. Shadow Milk seemed to always have something to do with you or for you much to Candy Apple’s displeasure. If you weren’t carrying out a plan for him or planning the next one you were beside him, or watching him preform, or preforming with him. He had all sorts of characters for you to play, but his all time favorite was the love interest, of course he always plays the main character. Over time, the characters you played seemed to follow you into your normal forms. You began to match the rest of your group even when you were just resting, mostly Shadow Milk.
🃏- “You know if you want to take inspiration from the most handsome cookie to ever grace earth bread, you’re going to have to give me a little credit!” He says, laying beside you on striped pillows beneath a mini circus tent. Poking at some eye markings in your dough and combing through your hair icing to find blueberry colored streaks.

What would happen if gojo has 2 babies? And they both start crying at the same time and poor gojo has to find a solution in this situation 🥲 his younger baby that is only months old starts crying which makes the older sibling that's 2 years older wake up and starts crying 😭
little voice — gojo satoru x f!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you’re on a girls’ vacation. it’s okay. it’s cool.
but it isn’t.
throughout his entire life of fighting curses, emotional trauma, technique training, and unending migraines, he has never felt so much stress like he does right now.
his two kids are truly angels: full of kindness, compassion and—as expected of a child of gojo satoru—full of mischief.
they also share the same amount of love he has for you and, of course, even more. so separate two kids who adore their mother and you get chaos.
satoru just found out that the one who keeps the balance in the house is you, and thinking back about it, it should’ve been obvious because everyone in this house listens to you.
for example, one time when you were out on a simple visit to nanami to take some of the sweet bread he has, you had strictly told satoru to put the two kids to sleep at 8:30 exactly.
he thought it’s too early, but then you explained to him that s/n sleeping gave him time and freedom to look after your baby daughter who was, admittedly, a handful that would not sleep unless she was carried.
so satoru obediently listened, or at least he tried to.
a shameful failed trial at that.
in his defense, what was he supposed to do when s/n gave him puppy eyes asked for a mere 10 minutes more, say no? of course not!
so, like the great father he is, he gave him a couple more minutes, and nothing will make satoru regret his decision since to him his son’s smile is worth the world.
…except maybe the chandelier that is now on the floor and his precious baby daughter who just took one the biggest poops he has known of and his son who is panicking about how to clean this mess before you come home.
and come home you did and to all this mess.
swiftly, you picked up your daughter and changed her diaper, even making her giggle and squeal in between.
then you hugged your son and cleaned up the shattered glass together and disposed of the chandelier. lastly, you stood in front of your husband with a big frown after you’ve put the kids to sleep.
satoru could swear that he couldn’t fall more in love with you. hell, he could even twirl you around and kiss you breathless, but he feels like that would just lead him to the couch.
so he works to butter you up first before trying anything, “hey my sweet cute honeypie—“
you simply quirk an eyebrow.
and he falls to his knees, “I am sorry! I just couldn’t resist his puppy eyes! you should’ve seen them; he looked so cute!”
“I saw them a million times before he was even born, ‘toru.”
your husband gasps, “how!?”
“our son is an exact copy of you, sweetie.”
so yeah that was one of too many times, and if it isn’t apparent that you are the mediator then satoru wants to let the world know that even his students listen to you.
like that one time at school when the first years were caught up fighting with each other, the second years were trying to pull them apart, and satoru was too busy cackling at them while holding d/n that no one noticed panda’s little tail being—god knows why—on fire, not even panda himself.
that was until your precious son tugged at your husband’s shirt and pointed at panda, saying a simple sentence (phrase), “papa, panda fire.”
satoru’s eyes zero on panda then they widen, before he gapes, “oh shit, you’re right!”
“bad word!”
“sorry!”
however, despite satoru almost bolting to put out the fire, panda was finally able to smell it and hummed, “something’s being cooked.” then he looked at his tail, “oh it’s me.”
hit the panic button.
“I am being cooked!” he screams and starts running around, “panda meat doesn’t taste good; I promise!”
the rest start running after him with the intention to help, but panda could only translate it into one thing as he screamed, “don’t eat me!!”
“no one is gonna eat you, dumbass!!” maki yelled but to no avail as no one could get to the panicked panda.
your husband is running as well, half taking photos and videos and half ensuring that d/n does not fall from his hands—considering how she keeps giggling, squealing, and wriggling her entire body.
ijichi took matters into his own hands and called the only person he knows will be able to solve this.
“hello?”
“panda is on fire, the kids are running after him, and gojo is just recording!” he wails, eyes frantically following said people then straying to a particularly small person, “also s/n is trying to eat the grass.”
“what?!”
and like lightning, you’re on the field. you lightly scold s/n and tell him to cover his ears.
you turn to the walking fire hazard and scream, “everyone stop! and panda get over here!”
“yes ma’am!”
he stands still in front of you, almost ignoring his ‘fiery’ tail. you effectively put it out and ruffle his fur until he calms down. the others take turns in greeting you and getting their daily dose of motherly hugs.
your son sprints to you and holds onto your leg, refusing to let go.
and they all make way for the star of the show: the all-mighty gojo satoru.
he beams, “wifey, yet again you save the day!”
he easily picks up s/n and pulls the four of you into one big hug. he rubs his cheek against yours, “have I told you how much I love you?”
“I was gone for 3 minutes.”
“I haven’t?!” he gasps, completely ignoring you, “I am a terrible husband!”
he sobs and starts slowly melting to the ground where he believes a ‘disrespectful, good-for-nothing husband who doesn’t tell his wife just how much he loves her’.
anyway, back to the present. the kids have been miraculously put to sleep—a process that satoru does not have the time nor the energy to describe.
when he stops ‘reminiscing ‘, he starts paling at the fact that all of these were mere examples of things going wrong without you, and you were in the freaking area.
now, you’re not 10 steps away, and satoru is feeling very threatened.
he is sprawled out on the couch, eye bags ever so prominent. he sighs and lets his head fall back, grateful for the silence that fills the house, but he hates it at the same time.
satoru was never fond of silence—the type that feels so heavy on the heart—even when he was a teenager. it gives space and time to think about all the things he is desperate to avoid.
he did eventually come to love silence but only the silence that accompanies the times he spends with you, but that’s a story for another time though.
opening his eyes, he looks around and his gaze lands on your recent family photo. his smile is almost instantaneous.
if there’s anything he will rub in suguru’s face when they meet is that he managed to score himself such a lovely wife and an adoring family, a real family. he mentally writes a plus one on the score chart between him and suguru then relaxes.
he would like to scurry to the bed where your scent still lingers, but his fatigue has simply chained him to the couch—he is overreacting you’re only gone for three days.
so, he decides, it’s time to rest and hope for a dream where he gets to hold you and live with his longing until he can feel your lips against his skin again.
the great gojo satoru closes his eyes and welcomes his slumber.
that is until, his little sweetheart decides to breakout into a wail, effectively causing her dad’s eyes to snap open.
he jumps to his feet and sprints to her room, “d/n, what’s wrong, honey?”
he softly cradles her in his—gigantic—arms and starts rocking her slowly. “it’s okay; papa’s here,” he murmurs in hopes of calming down, but his daughter doesn’t register his voice yet.
she can, however, feel his all too familiar chest against her cheek, so she grips at it tightly and continues crying.
satoru’s expression is full of distress, and his heart contracts painfully at how his daughter’s cries. then it’s almost like the entire world is against him right now because he also starts to hear small little sniffles from the door of the room.
your husband looks back to find his son dragging his teddy bear with him in one hand and in another, trying to wipe his tears as much as possible.
your husband quickly shifts d/n into one arm and leads s/n into him with the other. your son nuzzles into his dad’s chest and murmurs, “I want mama.”
almost like she understands the mention of you, she calms down a tiny bit and her hands start reaching for the air—reaching for you.
satoru slides down to the ground and pulls them both into his chest, and he starts rubbing s/n’s shoulder and kisses the top of his head and sighs, “me too, s/n, but, hey, we are strong and capable, so we have to hold on until she comes home, right?”
a little sniffle escapes s/n as he nods before saying a soft, “yeah.”
satoru smiles and ruffles his hair, “that’s my champ.”
s/n lets out a little smile and snuggles into his dad’s embrace.
so satoru shifts his attention to the sniffling baby in his arm, he frowns, “now what are we going to do with you, little missy?”
your son purses his lips for a moment, before placing the teddy bear in his hands into his little sister’s tiny arms. curiosity takes over for a moment, and she starts exploring the new item.
then s/n presses on the teddy bear’s chest and it plays a little voice message from you:
“hey sweetie! mama loves you, so don’t worry about those nightmares! I am always here.”
your daughter’s eyes shine and she hugs the teddy as much as possible and utters a small, “ma!”
satoru blinks owlishly then looks at s/n with smile, “so you had that all along?”
s/n nods slowly and holds into his father tighter, obviously getting tired and getting ready to sleep. satoru would love to say the same about his other angel but—oh she fell asleep.
looks like all it took was a little listen to your voice.
he will probably make you record a thousand voice messages when you come back and make you get him his own special build-a-bear as well cause what the hell? what about your husband?
he shakes the thought away, realizing that he can finally fall asleep, albeit on the floor.
with no blanket.
no pillow.
not even his favorite cushion.
but he wasn’t raised to be ungrateful, so he will take what he can get. he will simply make up for lost sleep when you’re back. it will feel better that way in any case.

Fixing Vander and Silco's story (a bit)
Using canon events! Sadly we can't actually fix it, but I hope this makes it a little better. I make my own edit proposal at the end that changes the bar scene to include Felicia without issues.
They meet in the mines, and meet Felicia and her partner there too. They end up together somehow (I think we can put the brotherly allegations to rest now, eh?) and one of them (or both) inherit/buy a bar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although Vander is the barman, there is no indication Silco doesn't own or co-own the place. After all he comes to take it eventually as his own, and he's still not bartending. That's just not his gig.
It's implied that Vander and Silco made it, as in, got away from the mines, while Felicia clearly didn't, as she comes home to both her daughters with mining gear and gloves.
So despite Vander and Silco building the Lanes together, the mines aren't closed, and the work "isn't done".
Felicia says they've done it, and Vander is happy to celebrate their success. Meanwhile, Silco has his "NoZ" Nation of Zaun book in which he's scribbling, still planning.
Vander's first memory that Viktor sees even has Silco holding that book.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later, in season 1 episode 3, we see that Vander tells Silco that he had Vander's respect, the Lanes' respect, but it "was never enough".
There's also this fakeout moment in the memory at the bar, where Vander says they're done, and Silco replies with "You're gravely mistaken". And I thought he was going to go all zealous and say "We'll only be done when we have the Nation of Zaun", but no, he claims he's Bozo 1.
And imo, he is probably right. He calls out Vander in act 1 saying "I trusted you and you betrayed me", and Vander does not contest this. It makes the most in character sense as well that Silco is the brains of the operation while Vander is the brawn.
And we can conclude that Silco's goals were always "bigger" and that the Lanes were indeed not enough.
Years pass, during which we can only assume Silco keeps building his Nation of Zaun and Vander happily bartends and manages the Lanes with Silco. Felicia keeps working the mines and raises Vi, then Powder.
Vi is at least 11, if not more, by the time she's on the bridge. This is just consistent with her model, but also to make her 18+ by the time of act 2.
It's a long ass time for Vander and Silco to be running a bar and the Lanes together. Even assuming Vi is more 8 or 9yo, Vander and Silco spend all that time being together.
Sadly, their models aren't aged very well.
We are also forced here to make some unfortunate assumptions.
It's not a problem, IMO, for Silco to know Felicia and be close to her. It's a problem for him to not be close to Vi and Powder too. Close enough to recognise them at least.
It's easy to say, "Well, Felicia went back to the mines and raised her kids and wasn't super involved with Vander and Silco, who lived much higher up in their bar." Adult friendships and all that.
IT MAKES SENSE, but then it makes zero sense that Vander would murder his life's partner, a man he's been with 10 years at MINIMUM (fuck knows how long they were together while in the mines), over the death of a friend in a revolt they allegedly BOTH participated in.
The memories also imply that Silco is responsible somehow, for throwing a molotov. And yet the molotov doesn't kill the enforcer.
Tumblr media
But Vander is shown in the opening of Act 1 season 1 pummeling one to death himself, long after the rest of the revolt has died down. That enforcer wasn't getting back up lol
Tumblr media
So whatever we pick, because the writers made Felicia and Silco close, they create a plot hole either way.
Either Vander is whacko and murders his husband over a dead friend at a revolt he set up (since he repeatedly apologises for what he did, and claims he "lost his head after she died" and had that guilt on his hands too)
Or Silco and Vi and Powder spend ALL of season 1 acting like they don't know each other at all. Then Silco takes in Powder and somehow never comments on the fact he was friends with her mom.
Everything being triggered by Felicia's death also means that Vander's emotional thematic moment dropping the gauntlets after seeing what his violence led to is then followed up by a horrible attempted murder on the love of his life, which is... you know. Bad writing.
So I propose that they indeed drift apart. Silco knows of Felicia's kids, and they hangout a bit, but they aren't that close. She's busy mining and being a mom, and Silco is busy making the safe Zaun he promised to deliver.
The creation of that Zaun leads them to act out revolts and uprisings. Vander is happy to follow. He's angry, like he tells Vi. And this manifests in violence. Silco points his violence. It's how they create the Lanes and the moniker of Hound of the Underground. A hound usually has a master, after all.
Vander is Silco's hound, and I think, in Vander's mind this absolves him of some of the consequences of his actions.
So when his friend dies on the Bridge, even if they haven't been that close in a while, well, it's easy to put the blame on Silco.
Since we're following the new canon timeline... we'll have to have him go back with the girls, ready to turn a new leaf.
Tumblr media
I think the best way here is to have him either dropping them at an orphanage, or back at their home (trusting Vi to look after Powder for a while) or with friends.
That way, Vi and Powder aren't immediately in Silco's legs back at the drop.
Then Vander and Silco take part in the "clean up" at the bridge. They go get bodies, and since they have no real estate in the fissures, they commit them to the sea (we have canon monsters in there, so I'm sure it all gets gobbled up).
That way, we explain why Vander is weirdly shaved, and why Silco and him are at in the Pilt: they just commited the bodies of the fallen to the waters.
There may have been many others, but Silco and Vander stay there, in the shallows, as they talk.
Vander is done. He doesn't want more of this. He thinks Silco went too far with pushing this one to the bridge. Piltover got defensive and they lost too many people.
Silco doesn't get it. Where he goes, so does Vander, but Vander is his own man, he decided to come too, and he killed enforcers too. Felicia's death is tragic, but as he later will tell Renni about the death of her son: at least she died fighting for the cause, and not some petty infighting, or worse, an accident at the shitty mines.
Vander, the Hound, is not only mad with grief, he refuses to carry the blame of his own actions. It's a character flaw and that's fine! The angry man channels that anger with violence, the only way he knows how.
Silco is probably shocked, and may not say the right things to calm Vander down.
Silco is under the assumption that Vander BELIEVES IN HIS DREAM. That he's a true believer of the Nation of Zaun, like Sevika turns out to be. A true believer would understand sacrifice. A true believer would understand too, that stopping now, after Felicia's death, would make THAT VERY DEATH POINTLESS.
So maybe he screams at Vander! What do you MEAN abandoning the fight? What do you mean, being content with the Lanes? How dare you? You'd make her sacrifice meaningless! You'd make Felicia die a pointless death!
And Vander would bellow that it's over. No more death. No more bloodshed. He rescued her kids from that bridge, and they don't deserve to die too, they don't deserve to see more death.
And Silco screams back that it's their job to create Zaun so these children won't have to see more death. Vander is just delaying the struggle.
And then, perhaps, Silco may even mock him. Say that Vander can't change like that. That he's not that sort of person, to just hang up his gauntlets and go peaceful. That Felicia's blood is on his hands too, and that the only way out is through more blood, more sacrifice.
It would be a horrible point to make, if then Vander truly loses it. Silco runs, and Vander's hound comes out, just grabbing Silco and trying to drown him.
It would be poetic, because then Vander goes home in shame. Gets his arm patched up, hides the scar under a brace, collects the kids and tries to pretend like HE CAN BE THAT MAN. Even though he surrendered his gauntlets and metaphorical violence, and tries to lean into the bartender chill persona, there's what he did to Silco.
And later he'll tell Vander "I'll show you what you really are". Because Silco knows that Vander's promises of being a peaceful good dad are flimsy at best.
Anyway, Vander goes home, and eventually the impact of what he's done really hits him. He's single now, and with kids, and the Lanes to run, and nobody knows where Silco is.
Vander slowly realises Silco was right about one thing. Just because Vander followed, doesn't mean he wasn't behind that event on the bridge. Becoming the solo leader of the Lanes has to have hammered that home for him. Suddenly so much responsibility thrust on him.
So Felicia's death was on him too, and his actions against Silco are the proof that he is indeed the sort of man Silco said he was. At any rate, surrendering violence as his first reaction to any trigger will take a lot of work.
He goes to their old hideout and leaves a letter for Silco.
In the happy AU, Silco finds it, and returns to Vander BEFORE ever meeting Singed. There is no glowing eye, no shimmer, and no cannery.
In our AU, Silco never finds the letter. He finds Singed instead. Starts helping him develop shimmer.
I've been thinking that since the goal of shimmer is a form of "keeping alive" and also "bringing back to life", then it's possible that Silco's glowing eye is a byproduct of shimmer experimentation.
And that the only way to keep it alive and function is more shimmer injections. It would otherwise be grey and dead like in the Nice AU.
So Singed is also a factor here. He gives our Silco a real way to deal scary violence to Piltover. And this changes our Silco. He's more radicalised, and more opposed to Vander, having discovered that Vander works with Grayson to keep Zaun under Piltover's boot (basically making sure the boot stays, but doesn't press down too hard).
Vander is, as always, the enforcer of the status quo.
And though this works for them timeline wise, it sadly doesn't change the fact that Silco should know who Vander's kids are.
Vi and Jinx can be excused for not recognising him, what with him being one of their mom's adult friends, and scarred. But Silco doesn't have that luxury. His great friend Felicia had two very distinctive kids, ONE OF WHICH VANDER FUCKING NAMED! And her death triggered his husband so badly he tried to kill Silco over it. If anything, Silco would be hyper-aware of Felicia's kids.
And no amount of alternate fix-its changes that. It's permanent damage to season 1's Silco.
I feel like we can fix Vander's side of things by inventing an entire scene at the Pilt as I did above, but we can't fix 10 years of knowing your friend's kids and then a lifetime of acting like you don't know them.
I think it also cheapens the found family aspect of both Vander and Silco's adoption. You're left to wonder if they took in the girls only because they were friends with the mom.
Silco's adoption of Jinx and co-dependence with her was great because it spoke of the similar shape of their traumas, and how unexpected their bond seemed.
But now it's redolent of friendly obligation. And lies.
How would I fix it by keeping Felicia in the picture?
I would fully remove Felicia's one-on-one with the boys. That night at the bar? It's a party. Young Sevika is here too!
Felicia and many others are there, all congratulating Vander and Silco over the creation of the Lanes. Eventually Silco tires of the social niceties and goes to write in his notebook at the bar. Or maybe there's a montage of the night as the crowds thin.
In the end, Silco is writing, and Vander is still socialising. He talks to 3 people--Felicia, her husband, and a random person. They thank him for all his work. They've done it! And the conditions in the mines are so much better now thanks to XYZ!
Vander is beaming, he's just so pleased. It's clear for him this is the end goal. Felicia asks him, pointing to Silco, if he's okay.
Vander laughs, says Silco is fine, but he's already got his head back in the clouds. You see, Silco doesn't just want the Lanes, he dreams of a free Nation of Zaun.
The other 2 laugh, but Felicia sobers up. She rubs her belly, thoughtful. Then she says "Sounds like a dream worth fighting for."
I don't think she even needs to say anything about being pregnant, but she could go on with something like "I'm expecting. A girl, I think. I know. And I would love if she could grow in a safe city. I'm so scared she'll have to live the way I did, growing up.'
And Vander smiles sadly and tells her, 'We've gotten this far, and we're not going back. We'll make Zaun safe for your kiddo, I promise you that.'
And that's it.
Vander knows OF Felicia. She is a community member. He knows her enough, maybe from Lanes meetings, that eventually he can recognise her children. But they're not friends, and SILCO definitely isn't friends.
And the disagreement after the bridge is fully about where to go from then on, and Vander deciding he wants to run the Lanes and keep them safe, that what they have now is good enough, while Silco wants "more".
That disagreement can turn nasty, and the fact Vander tried to drown Silco becomes a statement about how violent and temperamental he is as "The Hound of the Underground". Something he'll regret soon enough and spend the next few years working hard to try and change.
What do you think?

Alexia knows she should be the brave face in this whole situation, she’s not the one sitting in a hospital gown on a gurney about to head into surgery, but that doesn’t change the fact that she’s sizzling with anxiety. She doesn’t know why, there isn’t anything particularly terrifying about her circumstances, this is a routine surgery, the chance of complication is extremely low, the chance of death is less than 1%. She knows because she’s google checked five times in the last hour.
She’s trying to hide it, because she knows even though you are putting on a brave face you are secretly terrified. She’s been playing the chivalrous girlfriend. Trying to eliminate any outside stress so that you don’t have to worry about it, which is causing Alexia to stumble into a spiral of worries. She’s worried for you, she’s worried for the future, she’s worried about everything that moves and breathes.
Alexia can normally cope under stress, give her a game winning penalty in a world cup winning game and she’ll treat it with the same amount of composure as she would a penalty in a 20-0 friendly game.
Alexia stressing about you though, is a completely different story. She’s snapped at everyone in the lead up to this week, she’s shut down, she’s in her fortress and until she knows that you’re going to be okay that’s not going to change.
You’re the best thing that happened to her, and even though she has absolutely zero impact on what’s going to happen in the operation room she feels like if she controls all of the outside variables then somehow that’s her contribution. She wants to believe that if she can make everything on the outside right, then it’ll somehow change what’s happening on the inside, Alexia wishes deep down that she could fix it all and that this situation wasn’t happening.
Alexia doesn’t understand why you suffer so much from a disease that has no cure, she doesn’t understand why something so horrible exists and why you are plagued with it.
You don’t seem phased at all, like this is normal routine for you which is making Alexia feel even worse.
You’ve gone about your morning as usual, denying Alexia in every way as she tried to do random acts of service that were actually useless.
You’d quite literally breezed your way through it all and to the hospital without a waiver, no tears, no worries, no stress. It was a long time coming, Alexia appreciated the fact that from what you and google had told her, laparoscopy’s could be life changing for people with endometriosis, it could effectively make your quality of life during your period so much better. But it was still surgery, Alexia remembers when she had her acl surgery, she was a bundle of nerves to the point where her mami had to sit by her bed to stop her from hyperventilating whilst they administered the anaesthesia.
There is no clutching for Alexia’s hand, no desperate admissions of fear, no articulation of any anxieties or stress. You’re practically meditative, sitting on the hospital bed in your gown waiting patiently for the doctors to come and collect you.
Alexia’s walked herself through the surgery hundreds of time, when she can’t sleep at night it’s the first thing that her mind drifts to, there isn’t any set routine for a laparoscopy, it’s based on how much tissue has built up and where it’s built up. They won’t know until they open you up, from the limited amount of information Alexia has been able to extract about your past surgeries she’s figured out that for you in the past, it normally builds up in your pelvis, fallopian tubes, the ligaments around your uterus, your ovaries and the last time you had a laparoscopy they even found small clusters on your bladder, vertebraes and bowel. Hopefully, they’ll just find it around your uterus, but if there are signs that it might have attached to other organs then the surgery can become far more invasive and longer. Your doctor has said that in the best case scenario it could take an hour or two, worst case scenario it might take upwards of 5 hours.
At least two hours of Alexia falling deeper and deeper into her fear that something horribly bad is going to happen.
You’d encouraged her to touch base with her therapist in preparation, a proposal that Alexia had laughed at. She knew that you’d talked to your psychologist a day beforehand in preparation, and told her that if possible you’d like to follow up a few days after your surgery. Alexia had no reason to reach out though, she wasn’t the one who was having her reproductive organs sliced up, it was her job to make sure that you were able to achieve optimal recovery. Your health was Alexia’s biggest concern, she needed you to recover, she needed you back on the pitch with her, she needed you back to normal as soon as possible, so that all of her stress and anxiety about everything that was happening could dissipate.
“Alexia, you’re squeezing.”
Alexia looked down at her hand, it was resting on the outside of you thigh, her hand all fisted up in your skin and the paper thin hospital bedding.
“Sorry bebita.”
Alexia retracted her hand as if had been burnt, she felt horribly guilty about the selfishness of her feelings, it wasn’t right for her to be so twisted up in her own troubles. She wasn’t the one suffering.
She didn’t know how to explain it, she felt like a child with her hand between couch cushions, reaching for something and only grazing for the edge of it. She only grazed the edge of understanding what you were going through, it felt like she was eternally reaching for more, trying to feel it, and yet she didn’t have hands big enough to grab what she wanted. She didn’t have the tools to fix this, she didn’t have the body to understand what you were going through, she was left searching without any chance of retrieving anything.
“Alexia.”
Alexia looked up at you, there was something in your body language, like you were uncomfortable, or on the border of being uncomfortable.
“I’m sorry bebe, is everything alright? Are you comfortable? I’m sure they’ll be in soon to come and get you, I know you must want to get this over with.”
You roll your eyes, and Alexia is aware that it’s your way of saying no, but for some reason it cuts deeper for her, she’s so on edge, she’s been on edge ever since you got your surgery date and it’s all starting to reach a certain point that is pushing Alexia in ways she doesn’t understand.
“I want my girlfriend to relax. I’m going to be fine Alexia, nothing is going to happen.”
Alexia knows that factually you’re correct, but in Alexia’s imaginative brain she can’t wrap her head around the truth.
“I know bebita, I just want to make sure that you are feeling good, si? You’re comfortable? It’s important for your recovery that you feel as good as possible.”
Your roll your eyes again.
“Alexia, everything is perfect, it’s all fine. I’ve recovered from this same surgery two times, I’m prepared. You’ve made sure that when I get home I’ll be comfortable, I’ve walked you through what the next week might looked like. I’m prepared and so are you, everything is going to be fine.”
You’re eerily calm and Alexia can’t tell whether or not it’s a front to hide your secret insecurities or if you seriously are content with what you are going through.
She supposes that when you’ve been living with something so debilitating for such a long time that at some stage you get used to constantly being disappointed with your body and constantly knowing that it doesn’t perform the same way that other people’s do.
“I know bebita.”
Alexia doesn’t even sound like she believes herself.
“Do you? Because it doesn’t seem that way.”
Alexia doesn’t want you worrying about her, she doesn’t want you worrying about anything, she wants you to feel calm.
“Bebe, I’m fine. I know our plan, I was the one who made it.”
It’s a weel made plan. Alexia had spent weeks getting everything in line for this moment. You were both going to take at least a week away from football, two weeks if need be. Alexia would return after the rest period, to training until she felt like she was in a place to be back on the pitch. You’d come in with her on the good days, meet with the team doctors and work through whatever exercise that was allowed whilst also just reintegrating into the team. If it all went to plan you’d make your way back into team training at the six week mark, and if it all went to plan you’d be back playing around the eight week mark. For the first week, you would be on mostly bed rest. Alexia had already meal prepped your comfort foods and easy foods to digest for the first week, and she had no doubt that her teammates would drop some more food off. You would rest, allow yourself some grace to recover from what you were going through. Alexia would make sure of it. She didn’t know what you’re previous recoveries from your surgeries looked like, you hardly shared any details about your past with endometriosis but what she could gauge it musn’t of been a positive experience. She was determined to change that though.
“You’ve got nothing to be scared about Ale, I’m going to be fine. I can’t guarantee how happy I’m going to be once this is over but I’ll be okay. I’ve been here, I’ve done this before, it’s the same as every other time.”
Alexia doesn’t think she’s seen anybody go into surgery so casually, as if this is truly just another surgery for you, as if there is no magnitude behind what is about to occur.
“I know bebita, I know.”
Alexia reaches for your hand, giving it a squeeze before bringing it up to her mouth and pressing a soft kiss to it. Her lips linger for a second, it feels good to know that you are here with her.
“Ms Putellas, it’s time to take her.”
Alexia looked up to the doorway, where one of your nurses was waiting.
She didn’t want to say goodbye to you, she didn’t want the waiting to start.
Alexia stands up, moving her lips from your hand and pressing them to your hairline, breathing in everything about you. The smell of your shampoo that she’d massaged into your hair this morning, the smell of your body soap, the warmth of your skin. It was all you, the you that Alexia knew, the you that Alexia loved so much. She had so many hidden insecurities, but her biggest one was that deep down this surgery was going to somehow change you, and when you came back different to how you currently would, you wouldn’t want her anymore.
There was no explanation, but it didn’t change what Alexia had come to believe.
“Alexia, I love you, I am going to be fine, I will see you in a couple of hours.”
Alexia didn’t know it, but you had your own insecurities. You’d never had anybody, friends, family, partners that had stuck by your side through all of your issues. Who was interested in a person who was completely broken from the inside? Why would Alexia want to stick around for all the troubles. It wasn’t easy looking after a person with a chronic disease, even with her limited amount of time dating you she’d hardly experienced the real struggle. Sure, she’d seen you on your period, but that didn’t compare to a lifetime of struggles.
Alexia had advocated for you, with the team, with the physios, with the coaches, with your doctors. But was she prepared to do that for the rest of her life? Was she prepared to sacrifice her own health at certain times to prioritise yours? It was the ultimate sacrifice, and even though Alexia was genuinely the best person that you’d ever met, yet you wouldn’t blame her for being unable to compensate for you.
“I know bebe, I’ll be waiting for you. I love you so much, it’s all going to be fine.”
Alexia pressed her lips to your forehead one final time, you didn’t push her when she took her time. Alexia’s lips shook against your skin, the quiver silent as she kept any emotion she had at bay. She needed to be strong, she needed to stay strong for you.
“Ms Putellas, one of the nurses will take you to the waiting room, a doctor will come get you when she’s done.”
Alexia finally pulled her lips away, it truly did feel like she was parting with you completely, like she was being pulled away from you completely.
The nurse reached for Alexia’s hand and she shook it free.
You frowned at her, like she was making this so much harder, it made her feel bad, but she needed this, she needed a moment.
“I love you.”
You let up on your frown.
“I love you too.”
Alexia nodded, if there were tears in the corner of her eyes then she had no idea, her focus was on you, only ever you.
Only when she finally felt comforted, did she let the nurse lead her out.
The nurses took you down one end of the hallway, and she dragged herself in the opposite direction.
The waiting room was the same as any other, random stock pictures of scenery from somewhere around the world, chairs that were more uncomfortable then any other surface, bright white lights that were bound to remind Alexia exactly where she was.
It was all uniform, besides her mother sitting in the corner.
Eli looked the same as she always did, her lips sitting in a content smile. There were big lines all over her face from her smiling all the time, it was the reason why everybody gravitated towards her.
“Mami.”
Alexia had known there was something slightly suspicious happening when her mother had been dodging her calls for the last few days. She’d assumed in typical fashion that whilst Alexia was looking after you, Eli would go into overdrive, cooking all the meals, helping Alexia. She hadn’t quite expected this.
Alexia had kept the details about your surgery vague with her family, she didn’t feel like it was her information to give away and also she wanted to keep some privacy. She knew it was going to be a tough period for you and also for herself.
“No, before you say anything, I am staying.”
Alexia smirks, pushing back the words that had already been on the tip of her tongue.
“You don’t need to be here, I could be waiting for while. I can call you when she’s done and you can come to see her.”
Alexia walks towards her mother, and she knows by the way that Eli is looking at her that she’s not going to be able to convince her to leave. Alexia’s stubbornness came straight from her mother.
“I will do no such thing. I shall wait here with you, I’m here to support my daughter.”
Eli nudges Alexia into the seat beside her.
“I’m not the one having surgery Mami, I will be fine waiting on my own.”
Eli slaps Alexia’s arm.
“Estupida. Tan estupida. When I was in hospital with your faher do you know how alone i felt? No, you will not be alone. Maria has gone to go and get coffee, we will all wait here together until she’s done. Comprendida?”
The tears that were in Alexia’s eyes a couple of minutes ago are back, the sick feeling of anxiety that’s been in her stomach all week, especially today suddenly feels less all consuming.
“You don’t have to do this alone, there are people here for both of you. There is support for you.”
Alexia nods, and for the first time in a while she actually feels like she doesn’t have to handle it all, like maybe she can off load some of the responsibilities that are making her chest ache with every breath she takes.
“Thankyou.”
As the doctors had told Alexia, the first week is by far the worst.
Your surgery ends up going for a lot longer then expected. As the doctors had expected, it hadn’t looked good, and it had spread to some of your organs. The positives were though that there hadn’t been any complications and they’d managed to remove all the affected tissue.
It had ended up being a day procedure and the doctors had cleared Alexia to take you home once you’d woken up and were eating and talking.
It had only gone downhill from there.
You were in a lot of pain, and pretty much delirious on the feeling of it and anaesthesia.
Getting you out of her car and into the house had been near impossible, carrying you was too uncomfortable for your incision, and walking was also impossible.
Eventually, with a mixture of limping, Alexia bearing all the weight for you and dragging you as carefully as she could she got you into your bed.
Alexia had set the house up so that when you were home everything would be easy, she hadn’t organised though for you to be completely immobile.
She got you set up underneath the blankets, allowing you to rest whilst she worked on making a light meal for dinner.
When Alexia came back, you were running a fever.
It was a low grade fever, something the doctors had told her to expect but it made her feel uncomfortable.
A fever was the first sign of an infection, and you weren’t awake enough to know what was going on. What if something bad was happening and she didn’t know? What happened if she didn’t catch it early enough? What if she was the reason that something bad happened?
Before Alexia could find the warning signs of slipping into her own brain she was falling deep into a fog of anxiety.
Alexia was the one who was responsible for making sure that you were okay. She thought that she’d worked out every different variable and issue that could arise, she’d promised you that she’d be there for you after your surgery. If she couldn’t help you with this though then was she really capable of dealing with all of it?
You stirred slightly as Alexia removed the thermometer from your lips, your eyes hazily opening up, looking at her with confusion.
“Hugs.”
It’s almost laughable the way that you whine at Alexia, the doctors had said that you would be pretty out of it for the first few days. You’d told Alexia that in the past, the first two or three days after your surgeries tended to consist of mostly sleep and adjusting to the pain of your healing incisions. After they had healed it was all upwards from there.
“How are you feeling? Do you want some more pain relief? Do you need some water? Food? You’re not feeling nauseous or cold?”
You shook your head, your lips morphing into a soft smile as you took in Alexia, all flustered and clearly worked up.
“Want hugs.”
Alexia was guarded, she always was when she was focused on protecting people. You didn’t want guarded Alexia. You wanted relaxed, homey, calm Alexia. The Alexia who would sit on the couch with you after a rough game and eat icecream, the Alexia who would silence her alarm on a morning workout day to stay in bed with you, the Alexia who just wanted to spend all of her time with you. You just wanted the Alexia that would put whatever you wanted above all else.
Alexia looks torn, really torn, like she knows that she should probably be caregiving in some way. She promised you though that she’d let you guide her through your process, that she wouldn’t try to control how you wanted to recover.
“Okay bebita, if that’s what you want.”
Alexia slips to the wardrobe quickly, pulling off her sweats in favor for changing them in for some softer pyjamas. She doesn’t know how long she’s going to be in bed with you but she assumes it’s going to be long enough that she’ll want to be comfortable.
When she makes her way back into the bedroom you’re waiting patiently, like you know that if you’d fallen asleep whilst Alexia was gone she probably would have gone off to tackle some non-existent chore to make herself feel better. Alexia rolls her eyes at how well you know her more unobvious traits and tells.
Alexia, without trying to shift the mattress at all, pushes herself under the covers of your bed. She’d made sure to put down fresh sheets, so it’s comfier and snugglier then it normally is. When you realise that Alexia is going to make no attempt to shift within cuddling distance you pull your arms out from underneath the blankets. Everything is sore and accompanied with a tinge of pain that makes your head hurt. It sucks. You want your teddy bear of a girlfriend to hug it away.
Even though it hurts, you reach for the hem of her sleep shirt, tugging it towards you. There is no power to your movements but there is a general message. Alexia shuffles closer to you, but still far away enough that you definitely can’t use any part of her body as a pillow. You don’t know why it hits you then, you know you’ve got a lot of built up emotions, and that hormonally there is so much going on in your body and the pain medication isn’t making it any better. You don’t know why, but all of a sudden the tears start to fall and you can’t contain the sniffle that you make.
“Bebita, what’s wrong?”
Alexia shoots up, ready to take action in whatever way is needed.
“Do you even love me? What person wouldn’t want to give their girlfriend a hug? I know I just had surgery and I’m digusting and haven’t showered and smell like hospital but can you not just give me a hug, is is that big of a ask?”
Alexia almost immediately recoils, the feeling that sets into her stomach is one of horror. Of course she wants to hug you. Of course she wants to love you, she’s just scared to hurt you.
“Bebita, no. It’s not about any of that, I just don’t want to hurt you bebe. I love you so much bebe, none of the surgery stuff bothers me, not in the slightest. I just don’t want to hurt you.”
At this stage you’re sobbing hysterically and Alexia feels so horrible.
“I know you didn’t want me to get the surgery, I know it was stupid but can you just hug me?”
Alexia genuinely does a double take when you say that, it’s a insecurity that you haven’t expressed to her at all and she doesn’t quite know what to make of it.
“Bebe, of course I wanted you to have the surgery. I can’t tell you whether or not it was a good decision for you, but for me it was a no brainer. Bebe, you were in so much pain, you were struggling so much and for me it was so hard to see you go through that. I don’t know why you’d think that I wouldn’t want you to get the surgery but I can tell you that any decision that makes you feel happier and healthier is always going to be the best decision. If this surgery makes you feel healthier and happier then why would it be stupid?”
You don’t really know what you are thinking or why you’re suddenly thinking all of these things but you just feel so wrong all of a sudden.
“You promise?”
Alexia smiles at you, finally leaning over into your personal space. She bring her hand up to yours and interlocks your pinky with hers.
“I pinky promise, now how about we work out that hugh that you want. I don’t want to hurt you, so what’s going to work best?”
Alexia reaches up to thumb away the tears that are still leaking down your face, you can’t control the random emotions that are flurrying through your body like a tornado.
“The doctor said I should sleep propped up, so I could lie with my back pressed to your front?”
Alexia figures that probably is the best way to approach this whole situation.
It’s not easy getting you to sit up for long enough for Alexia to slip in behind you, but you both reap the reward when you get to relax against each other.
Even though you’re wrapped in Alexia’s hoodie she swears that she can feel your bones relax against hers and even though she knows that you might be in pain she selfishly couldn’t care less. For the first time since she’d walked through the doors of the hospital this morning she finally feels like she can breathe, like she has you, like her inherent need to protect you from everything has finally been fulfilled.
Alexia worries about you more then anything else, when you get injured, when you’re sick, when you’re away from Alexia too long she worries. Her need to protect and care for you has only developed more over the course of your relationship, and when she found out about your endometriosis it doubled. She’s never worried much about anything besides football, and even when she worried about football it was never the same kind of worry, it’s more internalised stress about achieving what she’s set out. For you, everything is irrational, none of it makes any functional sense, it’s ridiculous. And yet she kind of loves it, because she knows that it means it’s all real, that her love for you is so real and true that she worries irrationally because the thought that anything bad could ever happen to you she knows that it would break her in ways she’s never been broken before. She saw it in here mami when here papi died, the way that she stopped being able to function in the absence of him, and god forbid anything similar happened to you Alexia knows she’d be the same.
There’s this thing about recovery, about recovery from a non-injury that makes your skin crawl. You’re not a good person to be around when you’re struggling, it’s the half the reason you’d kept your reproductive issues from Alexia, because it all made you grumpy and tired and borderline and fucking bitch. There was a pattern of shutdowns, emotional, physical, mental, every single time you had a slip or bad period. A surgery though, it was a whole different story.
By week two you felt pretty much back to normal, but as the doctors kept reminding you, you weren’t. That was the problem with internal surgery, eventually the outside of your body returned to feeling normal, but the healing process on the inside took ten times longer. Your scars were healed, even the swelling had started to go down, the pain was minimal but you were still healing.
By week 4 you knew that you were toeing the line of being a bitch and being intolerable. You stomped your way around the halls of the training facilities, annoyed with your lack of progress and the fact that whilst all of your teammates were out on the pitch, you were stuck indoors under the air conditioning doing the exact same pelvic floor exercises that you’d been doing for two weeks. You were now allowed to run on the treadmill, instead of the slow walk that you’d been doing for the past few weeks. It all felt like nothing though, like you were being pulled through hell with no real picture of when you would be allowed to return.
You’d known about all of this before your surgery, known that it was going to be a slow process. What you hadn’t realised though was just how lonely that process was going to be, nobody understood what you were going through. At least with injury there was common ground, everyone on the team had been through some kind of back setting injury that had them in the gym more then on the pitch. They’d never been sidelined for something inside of them though, something that was going to keep coming back and keep hurting them over and over again.
Week 5 was when you broke. There wasn’t any exact reason, maybe it was the way that Mapi continuously kept trying to get you to try some stupid gym challenge when she knew you weren’t allowed to, maybe it was the way that Alexia kept coming home everyday complaining about how the defenders couldn’t get their act together, or maybe it was just the overwhelming pressure that was starting to get to you.
All you know is that after a particularly hard day and Alexia groaning about the sprints they’d run after every drill on the way to the car, it had been the final straw for you.
The minute your seatbelt was fastened there were tears pouring down your face.
When Alexia reached out you smacked her hands away.
“Bebe, talk to me, are you in pain? What hurts?”
If you weren’t busy crying you’d probably slap Alexia for the stupidity she was exhibiting.
“No, no I’m not fucking in pain. I’m sick of you constantly fucking tell me about all of your problems and acting like I wouldn’t die to be doing what you’re fucking doing. I’m sick of everybody thinking that I can do everything that they are doing just because I look fine. I know I look fine, I know I seem fine, hell at this stage I’m pretty sure I am fine. I’m sick of feeling like I’m back to normal and being told that I’m fucking not, that I have to wait another week, that I can’t do things that are so normal to my life.”
Once again when Alexia tries to give you a hug you deny her, wiggling out of her hold as soon as she tries.
“Bebe, no recovery is linear or easy. Just because yours looks different to most peoples doesn’t make it any less valid. You need to be more gracious to yourself, you are going to get back from this. Just because it isn’t a normal process or what a recovery normally looks like for you doesn’t mean that you are any less entitled to your process.”
You know that like everybody else, Alexia doesn’t understand. Sure, she’s injured herself, she’s been through hell and back for her recovery. She doesn’t understand though what you feel, the immense struggle that you are going through.
“No Ale, you don’t fucking understand. There was no point in your recovery where you weren’t able to eat your favourite foods because your body didn’t react well, there was no limiting you from sex, there was no limits on what the unaffected parts of your body could and couldn’t do. There was no limits on how much time you could spend in certain positions or limits on whether or not you could fucking vaccum or carry something heavier then 5 kilos. You don’t understand, I have nothing to look forward to, i’m going fucking crazy watching everybody do things daily with ease that I can’t fucking do. My fucking body hates me, it betrays me everyday. And I can’t change that, I can’t do anything about that.”
Alexia forces herself to take a deep breath, to truly consider what you’re saying. She doesn’t want to invalidate you, not even remotely, she knows how easy it is for people like you to be invalidated because of your disease. She has no idea what you are going through, she can’t even begin to understand, and yet she’s been trying to. She’s been trying to empathise with what you’ve been feeling, she’s tried her hardest to force her feet into your shoes but the reality is that she will never be able to. Nothing is going to make her understand the magnitude of what you are going through, and she thinks that she needs to stop pretending that she does.
“You’re right bebita, you’re right. I’m so sorry, just tell me what you need, whatever you need and I will help you. I will try my hardest to do whatever it is you need. Just take some deep breaths with me, vale? It’s okay, the world isn’t going to end right here and right now, it might feel like it but I promise it won’t. These are fixable problems, we can fix this, maybe not right now which sucks but eventually this will all be fixable.”
This time when Alexia moves to hug you, you don’t flinch away. For the first fucking time in five weeks you be slightly heard, less alone and isolated.
You sob into Alexia’s neck, not caring that it’s making her neck wet and also your face. It feels good to let it all out, like all of the weight, all the words from your psychologist, from the doctors, from the physios, from your teammates, from the coaches, from Ale are slowly becoming background noise. All you want is for it to be background noise, for it to all disappear.
“We’re going to be okay bebe, you’re going to be okay, we’re going to work this out.”
Alexia doesn’t really believe her own words, she doesn’t know if everything is going to be okay, not remotely. She doesn’t know how to help you, after you became self-reliant after week 2 her job as your caregiver was pretty much nonexistent, but that didn’t mean that you didn’t still need help. It was all confusing, a back and forwards dance that didn’t really make any sense really. Whether Alexia had realised it or not though, she’d assumed that you were happy to do it alone, inadvertently. She was giving you your space to recover how you wished, even though it was clear that wasn’t necessarily how you wanted to go about your rehab.
When your cries softened Alexia let go a little bit, so she could look at you.
“How can I help bebita? Tell me what I need to do and I will do everything I can.”
Your eyes are all glassy and full of tears, it makes the hole of guilt in Alexia’s heart even bigger.
“I just want to play.”
Alexia furrows her face, because of all the things she can do, that isn’t one. She can’t clear you to play and she won’t condone you rushing your rehab to get back. She wants you to play, do desperately, but only when you’re at full health.
“I can help you with your rehab, bebita you can be cleared from the six week mark onwards, if you work really hard this week there is a chance you could be back in training next week. But you can’t rush yourself, I know you want to be back on the pitch, I want you back on the pitch. But you need to be ready, and right now you aren’t.”
Alexia thinks it might be a little bit too brutal, but the way you nod at her with real determination tells her that she’s said the right things, she’s supporting what you need whilst also being honest.
“I can’t get you back on the pitch but how about icecream, huh?”
You look like you might start crying again but after a few seconds you roll your eyes in the same way that you would to Alexia on any other day.
“It’s a wednesday, your cheat day is Mondays.”
Alexia shrugs, because cheat days aside, she’d break any and every rule just to see a smile on your face.
“Well last time I checked everyday is a icecream day, especially on wednesdays.”
Alexia’s goofy smile never leaves her face. It’s clear on your face though that you’re still worrying.
“Bebita, you can’t do anything about this. You just keep doing what you’re doing, even though it sucks and we wait until your six week appointment and hopefully you get good news. The doctors said if everything went how it should then next week should be when things start to pick up, you just have to trust the process bebe and it’ll all work out. Until it all works out, we have icecream, no?”
Your barriers break and for the first time since you’d sat down in the car you smiled at Alexia.
“Yes, we do have ice cream.”
Alexia had been forbidden from coming to your six week appointment, you wanted to do it alone, wanted to face whatever news you were given on your own and she respected that.
It didn’t make it any easier.
In the space of around an hour she had reorganised her wardrobe and then reorganised it again because she couldn’t handle not having certain things in certain places. She then moved on to folding all of the laundry, making sure her kit bag had everything that was necessary for the away game coming up and then out of pure desperation she moved on to cleaning all of the dishes.
She’d seen the way that the last week in particular had drained you, how everyday had been even more of a struggle. For the first few weeks, there had been moments of intimacy, moments of love and softness. All Alexia wanted was that back, she wanted to be able to love you and have you reciprocate it without withdrawing. She just wanted some part of you back.
When she heard your keys turning in the door, she tried her hardest to look normal, perched on the kitchen bench like a kid waiting for their parents to come home from work.
She listens to the sound of the door clicking open and shut, then the sound of shoes scuffing off, a bag being dropped and then your footsteps. Alexia’s heart beats faster and faster as she listens to you slowly get closer to her.
She’s rewarded when she finally sees you, and you’re not crying and don’t look like your about to punch something so she thinks there must be some kind of good news on the horizon.
When you spot Alexia clearly waiting for you, you almost laugh, she looks like she’s trying so hard to not ask you what she clearly wants to. She looks almost antsy.
“Hi.”
You keep walking, closer and closer, until your standing in between her legs and looking up at her from her spot sat on the counter.
Before she asks a question, you lean in, you need it. You need to feel Alexia in a way that’s been forbidden for far to long.
The kiss is breath taking, not to rough, not to over bearing. It’s just enough of everything that you feel like you’ve been missing out on. It makes everything better.
Alexia lets you take control, it feels good to not be out of control with everything that’s been happening.
Eventually though, when your hands move from her neck to the hem of her shirt, she pulls away.
“Bebe, I love you, but if you haven’t been cleared we should stop here.”
You roll your eyes and fish your hand into you back pocket, pulling out a folded up slip of paper.
“I think you’ll find that you have a girlfriend who has been cleared to return to all activities except games until I’ve gotten sufficient training hours, I’ve got the green light amor.”
Alexia pulls the paper from your hand, her eyes scanning every single word of the clearance form your doctor, making sure that you’re telling the truth. When she gets to the bottom, her face lights up and before you can say anything she’s standing up and lifting you in her arms.
“Alexia, put me down.”
You giggle as she balances you on her hip as if you are much smaller then you truly are, already walking towards your bedroom.
“I think it’s time to show my beautiful, patient, hardworking girlfriend just how much i love her, unless you disagree?”
You have no objections.
Alexia drops you down on the bedding as softly as possible, a big cheshire grin plastered across her face, like a huntress whose found her prey.
She joins you on the mattress, crawling up your body and kissing different places as she goes.
When she get’s to your head she presses her lips to yours, there isn’t any inhibitions or barriers, she kisses you like a person whose been so deprived of something that they’re craving it, like she’s greedy for you. Alexia moves her lips everywhere, your neck, your collarbones, as low as she can get until your tank top stops her and when she wants more, she gently tugs the top off.
Alexia worships your skin like it’s holy, she kisses and sucks and bites until your sweating and so worked up that you can’t think. When it starts to get to you, she unclips your bra, and that’s a whole other level of worshipping every inch of breast and then your nipples.
It’s glorious, 6 weeks of celibacy had been hell. Technically this would have been okay, but neither of you trusted yourselves to get to this stage and not go further.
So being here, being at this level of pure ecstasy and pleasure was everything you’d wanted and it made all of the tough moments feel so much smaller.
After she was sufficiently happy with her worship of your upperbody, she began her campaign downwards, spending time on your ribcage and stomach before spending extra time showering your incision with soft kisses.
It was something she’d done regularly since the bandages had come off, everytime you stared in the mirror for two long, or complained about how ugly it looked she would spend at least half an hour reminding you just how perfect your body was with certain scars. Those scars were proof that you were healthy and taking care of yourself and for Alexia that mattered far more.
From your incision it was down to the band of your leggings, which after a quick glance up to check you were still happy, she slowly peeled off.
“Alexia, enough teasing.”
Alexia pressed open mouthed kisses all along the outline of your panties.
“I’ve been away from your body for so long bebita, I’m just reintroducing myself.”
You rolled your eyes at the blonde, and were about to say something bratty but were stopped when she moved her open mouth a bit further down, just above your mound.
Instead of a bratty retort Alexia’s ears were met with the glorious sounds of little moans slipping from your lips as she teased you.
When you started bucking up into her, Alexia made the executive decision to move things ahead a bit quicker then she intended, after all she had plenty of time to do this, over and over again.
“You’ll tell me if anything hurts, si? If anything feels wrong say something, we’ll just stick to my mouth for now and work our way back up.”
You nodded at her, even when you felt good sex could be painful, it was a weird back and forth of you feeling good and then all of a sudden feeling bad. All you craved right now though was sweet release.
“Want to taste you bebita, god I missed tasting you.”
You swear your legs go numb and you almost orgasm just from her words.
“It might be quick, it’s been a long time Ale and I’m sensitive.”
Alexia smiled at you, kind and genuine like she had all of the time in the world.
“Just feel it however you need to, if it’s fast then it’s fast, whatever you feel just take it.”
You nod at your girlfriend before relaxing against the pillows on your bed, allowing Alexia to pull one of your knees above her shoulder.
The feeling of her mouth on you is truly the best feeling in the world, you don’t care how loud you are because the fulfillment you are getting has been so hard worked for that you can’t help but just enjoy it.
Alexia licks and sucks in all of your most sensitive places, places that have been untouched for so long that you’d almost forgotten just how good it could feel. When she pulls your clit into her mouth you see stars and you know that you aren’t going to last long at all, you gather Alexia can tell from the way that your octave heightens.
“Ale-Ale I’m going to cum.”
You can feel Alexia smirk against you.
Even though she knows that she’s able to satisfy you, there is nothing better then actually doing it.
“Go ahead bebe, I’m right here, you’ve been so good and patient. You deserve it, if you feel it just let go.”
You nod your head, biting down on your lip as you feel yourself getting closer to the edge, there is no hesitation from your edge, when she grazes her teeth against your clit you are well and truly gone.
Normally, you’d last more then one round, or you’d reciprocate at the least but before you can even try Alexia has you bundled up in her arms, pressing kisses all over your face.
You squeal and flinch but she doesn’t stop, not until your face is all red and your both relaxed against your pillows.
“You know how proud I am of you? You’ve been so good this whole process bebita, so perfect, so hardworking, so determined. You’ve pushed through it all, and you’re going to keep doing ti because your the toughest person I know, truly. I love you so much amor.”
You know that for the rest of your life, Alexia will take care of you, like nobody else. Underneath the surface she cares for you more than anybody else ever had and ever will.

Tumblr media
Previous part || Series masterlist
Tumblr media
This is a dream scenario.
It’s the weekend, which means he should be out somewhere fighting off bats in a haunted cave or sitting in a dark room muttering Bloody Mary’s name fifteen times like a broken tape recorder because you insisted the first three didn’t work.
Instead, by 5 p.m., he’s in bed. With a book. There’s even a cup of coffee sitting beside him, growing cold.
Really, he should be enjoying this. It’s rarely this quiet, and especially as the sun went down, the absence of your shenanigans, the lack of you dragging him into another bullshit horror hunt should be greatly freeing.
But something feels wrong.
Because something went wrong in his childhood, and then something very definitely went wrong in his adulthood, Bucky feels uneasy with the peace.
He turns a page. At least, he thinks he does. He’s not sure he’s actually read a single word. Gun to his head, he would not be able to tell you the plot.
By 6 p.m., his eyes have zeroed in more on the door than the actual book in his hands.
His phone is on full volume, waiting for a notification. He made sure his floor access was open. His windows are not blacked out. He has even left his door cracked open slightly, which feels wrong to the fundamental fibres of his being.
Nothing.
By 6:30 p.m., his coffee is still half full and lukewarm. God, he did not like that drink. The only thing he's done is flipped through pages for the sake of feeling like he’s accomplished something.
By 6:37 p.m., he’s out the door.
His grumbling is only half-hearted, which he hates. There is something much heavier that sits in his chest. Anticipation. Worry. Fucking blergh.
He’s never been on your floor before. He knows you share it with Nat, the way he does with Steve, but he's never actually visited it. Sure he regularly makes sure you're dropped off to your floor now , but he hasn't actually stepped foot there, no matter how much you invite him in to your bedroom.
He assumes it’s similar, just with fewer World War II relics and less The Price Is Right.
By 6:45 p.m., he’s knocking loudly on your door.
There’s no answer.
His jaw tightens.
He wouldn’t blame you if you had just upped and left. He just thought Maya would beat you to it, because the second the article dropped, it was like the Avengers personally made it their mission to have the next week become a shitstorm of them making headlines for the most insane things. He thinks she's on sick leave. Or she should be, at least.
Clint posted a picture from inside a JP Morgan bank vault. Nat walked straight into a national live broadcast and joined in on a debate she had no context to.
Sam did something. Bucky wasn't sure, but he saw Maya rubbing her temples and assumed it was bad.
Then, after Steve gets in an argument online and matches donations to Planned Parenthood and ends up donating nearly 100K, Maya declared a state of emergency.
Every single one of them was put on lockdown, all social media passwords were changed, and every future press interview was canceled.
Bucky never even got the chance to plan what his disaster would be.
But even after all that, he had heard from you. Big, congratulatory messages flooding the group chat. Dumb memes. Responses to inside jokes no one else understood.
So where the hell were you now?
He bangs his fist against the door again.
Nothing.
A muscle in his jaw twitches. He raises his metal hand, just one second away from really turning the door into a pile of splinters-
It swings open before he gets the chance.
And there you are, staring at him like he’s the crazy one. The audacity.
“Wha– oh.” You blink at him. “Why are you trying to break into my room?”
For a moment, it is just two idiots staring at each other.
Finally, he lets out a low, “What’s wrong with you?”
You raise a brow. “Could you be more specific?”
Only then does he really look at you.
The skin under your eyes is darker than usual, your arms crossed tightly over your oversized sweatshirt. Official Avengers merch, two sizes too big and the same colour you got him because you insisted you had to have matching fits. There’s a slump in your shoulders that wasn't there before.
“No video today?” he asks gruffly.
“Nah,” you sigh. “You’re free to do whatever.”
He stares.
You stare back.
“What?” you demand.
“Is this because of the news?” he asks slowly.
“I’m just tired, Buck.” You rub at your temple, like you're already exhausted with the conversation. “Haven’t I annoyed you enough this week?”
Logically, he should be happy about this. You did annoy him. Constantly. Every day. Even off the clock.
So why the hell is he still standing outside your door?
“Don’t you have something better to do?” you ask, leaning against the doorway. “I thought you were watching True Detective with Steve.”
“Dunno where he is,” Bucky mumbles. Which is a lie, because Steve was very much in his room, waiting for him but Bucky had ghosted him to instead come be a clown outside your door.
You squint at him. “What are you doing here?”
He shifts his weight. “Thought you were dead.”
A snort escapes you before you can stop it. “Why? ‘Cause I didn’t come knocking today?”
He doesn’t respond.
Your jaw drops slightly. “Wait. You came looking for me because you missed me?”
“I didn’t–” he starts, then immediately gives up halfway through the sentence because he already knows he’s lost.
Your grin is too smug. “You came all this way because you missed me.”
His entire body tenses. “I just came to check.”
You press your lips into a thin line, fighting back laughter. “That is so cute. Just say you’re in love with me. I’ll even kiss ya if you ask nicely.”
Bucky turns immediately on his heel. “Goodbye. You can die now.”
You laugh outright at that, and he shakes his head as he stalks back down the hall. Which is good. Which means things are back to normal. He can go find Steve and get done with the stupid fucking vampire show or whatever--
“Actually--” your voice calls out behind him. “D’you wanna come in?”
His body actually stops.  Turns back slightly, warily asking over his shoulder, “…Why?”
You shrug, leaning against the doorframe. “No pressure. I was just gonna watch old conspiracy theories and figure out whether they’re legit or just old Avengers missions. You can sit in the corner and brood or whatever it is you do.”
“I do not brood,” Bucky says, brooding.
“Sure, buttercup.” You wave dismissively. “See you next week, then.”
Bucky stares for a second longer, then pivots.
Then pivots again.
Finally, with a deep sigh, he walks back toward your door.
Tumblr media
Bucky doesn’t expect your room to look like his room. His room, by standards, was the second worst room in the Tower, only second to Clint’s fucking swamp dungeon.
But he also doesn’t expect it to look like this.
It’s too empty.
A bed, a desk, a laptop. A single, half-empty mug on the nightstand.
The only thing that makes it yours is the box shoved in the corner overflowing with fan mail, little gifts, and trinkets from people. Stickers, keychains, neatly folded letters– even a framed cross-stitch that says "if we die, we die together."
Which he doesn’t remember you saying, but sounds exactly like something you would. The thought makes his chest feel weird.
But beyond that, it looks like a room doesn’t require much time to be packed up.
Something about that sits wrong with him.
“You’ve done a lot with the place.”
“Finally get you into my bedroom, and the first thing you do is insult my interior design,” you say. You gesture at the lamp on your desk. “Look at that lamp. I got it from the same trashcan I found Alpine in. It’s got character.”
Bucky squints at the lamp. Now that you mention it, the shade is bent at a weird angle and the base is slightly burnt.
“Really livens up the space,” he tells you.
“Thanks, I try.”
You flop onto the bed, stretching your arms overhead with a sigh.
He hesitates for a beat before finally settling onto the floor, knees pulled to his chest.
You blink. “Why the hell are you sitting on my floor?”
“I’m comfortable,” he grumbles.
“You– I have chairs.” You gesture to them. “They’re free, I swear. You do not have to do this.”
“I’m good.”
You narrow your eyes, but let it go, shifting to sit near the edge of the bed. Your knee almost bumps his shoulder.
For a moment, there’s just the hum of your laptop, the faint flicker of the TV waiting on a selection screen.
“How are ya?” he asks, voice lower than usual.
“Mighty fine. You?”
He gives you a look.
You blow out a breath, arms crossing loosely over your stomach. “I’m fine.”
“Then why do you look like that?”
“Like what?”
“Like you haven’t slept in a week.”
Your lips curve up in the corners. “We can change that. Wanna sleep with me now?”
Bucky doesn’t react. At all.
Which is worse. Because he should roll his eyes. Should scoff. Should grumble some insult under his breath.
But he doesn’t. Your smirk falters slightly.
You clear your throat. “God, you’re no fun.”
“Why’d you call off the video shoot?”
“Why must I work all the time? Why can’t I take a simple break without being interrogated?”
He just keeps looking at you. It’s that new kind you’ve noticed him doing now. The kind that lingers half a second too long, that feels heavier than it should.
You shift. Rub at the edge of your sleeve.
“It’s…” You hesitate. “Not been the best week.”
Bucky adjusts how he sits. He doesn’t doesn’t dig, only keeps his eyes trained on you.
You take a deep breath, then force a grin. “Been watching Glee compilations till, like, 1 a.m. Pretty sure that’s the real issue.”
Bucky makes a low, unimpressed noise. Still, he lets it go—for now.
Instead, he asks, “So what’s your plan?”
You blink. “Huh?”
“For making yourself feel better.”
That makes you pause. What’s the plan? Like he’s already factored himself in, as if whatever comes next includes him.
You open your mouth, then shut it.
“Paranormal shit.”
You weren’t even thinking about it. It just… happened, probably because he’s here and it’s the subconscious working in mysterious ways.
But Bucky’s reaction is not what you expect.
He does not shut it down instantly. Call it nonsense. Leave the room. All of which he has done before, to varying degrees.
Instead now he looks at you like he’s used to it. Like he’s thinking about it.
Something in your stomach tightens. You beat it down with a stick.
You grin. “Oh, you want to.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
He exhales sharply through his nose. “What paranormal shit?”
“Well, I don’t know. I didn’t expect you to agree.”
“I didn’t agree.”
“You told me so with your eyes. You gave me signals.”
“You’re insane,” he mutters. "I did not give you signals."
But you suddenly perk up like it’s given you an idea.
“What?” he demands.
“You ever talked to ghosts?”
Kinda.
“No.”
“Well, that’s what we’re doing today.”
“What?”
“Ouija time, baby,” you say, already moving towards the box in the corner. “Now I don’t have a board but fear not. I shall make one. Custom-built. And then we will auction it off for a lot of money when you fake your death.”
“Why do you already sound like you’re prepared for that?”
“Because I am.” You rummage through the box. “Let’s see. We’ll need a marker, some cardboard–”
“You got a ring we can use?” he asks with a sigh.
“No, ‘cause you haven’t put one on me yet.”
Bucky shuts up after that.
You grin, pulling out a shot glass and wiggling it between your fingers. “Classy, right?”
Bucky stares at it. “Has that been used before?”
“Any remnants are just a little treat for the ghosties” you reply, flopping onto the floor and immediately getting to work, drawing out letters in marker.
Bucky watches you, something unreadable flickering across his face.
This is so fucking stupid.
Still, all he does is shifts to sit properly, arms crossed over his chest, watching as you finish drawing out the board with little squiggles decorating the corner and everything.
He doesn’t even realize how close he’s leaning until you glance at him, something teasing and careful in your gaze.
And for a second– just a second- maybe he forgets how to breathe.
Then you smirk, knocking him right out of it.
“Alright, soldier,” you say, grinning. “You ready?”
Bucky gives you a flat look.
The room is quiet, except for the hum of the TV and the scritch-scratch as you add in finishing touches.
You hold up the board.
It’s terrible.
The letters are uneven and the numbers are already smudged from where you’ve dragged your sleeve over them.
You sit back, admiring your work, before grabbing the shot glass and plopping it in the center.
You nod solemnly. “It’s ready. Now put your hands on the planchette.”
Bucky sighs deeply, metal fingertips touching the top of the glass.
You clear your throat dramatically. “Spirits, if you are here, make yourselves known.”
Silence.
Bucky nods. “Guess that’s our answer–”
The shot glass suddenly shoots out.
His muscles tighten immediately. His fingers twitch like he’s ready to grab a knife out of thin fucking air.
You, however, fail miserably in hiding a grin.
Bucky’s eyes narrow immediately. “You’re pushing it.”
“I am not,” you lie.
He stares.
“…Okay, maybe a little.”
Bucky groans, dragging a hand over his face. “I cannot believe I am wasting my night on this.”
“You’re just mad that the ghosts like me more.”
Bucky does not dignify that with a response.
“Put your hands back there, boy.”
So he reluctantly places his fingers back on the shot glass.
You clear your throat again.
“Oh great and powerful spirits, what secrets do you have for us?”
Silence.
Bucky watches unamused, watching as the letters spell out in lightning fast speed:
Y - O - U - R -
A pause.
M - O -M.
Bucky lifts his hands and leans back.
“That’s the ghosts talking, not me.”
Bucky just sits there, silent.
You wiggle your fingers dramatically over the board. “Maybe you’re the problem. Maybe the ghosts just don’t like you.”
Bucky snorts, “Right. I’m the problem here, not the fool who used a shot glass to talk to them.”
“The shot glass is genius, alcohol is an ice breaker in most social situation."
"What about this is a social situation?"
"Well it's you, me, and a couple of babes from the underworld. By definition it's a social situation, and a cool one at that."
“Why aren’t your ghosts talkng to us then?”
“Maybe they’re ageist.”
Bucky glares at you.
“You’re practically ancient. Maybe they just hate old people.”
“Maybe if I was a centuries-old spirit and the first thing I heard from the afterlife was your voice, I’d go straight back to hell.”
Your mouth falls open, before you let out an outraged scoff.
“Oh, that’s rich coming from–”
You stop mid-sentence when Bucky shifts, leaning back slightly, arms stretched behind him, his body loose and relaxed.
There’s a stupid smile ghosting at his mouth.
“Oh my God.” You latch onto it instantly. “You’re enjoying this.”
“No, I’m not.”
“Yes, you are.”
The sleeves of his hoodie are pushed up just enough to expose the solid cut of his forearms, the angle of his jaw sharp against the dim glow of your terrible table lamp.
His expression is too neutral, too blank. Like he’s waiting for you to react.
Something about it catches you off guard. It’s not intentional. It’s not even anything. But your stomach tightens anyway.
And suddenly, you’re aware of how close you’re sitting, how he feels bigger in the small space, how there’s this awful, annoying sense of recognition curling at the edges of something you’re not ready to name.
Bucky notices the way your expression shifts even if it was just for a second, his eyebrows knitting together.
You clear your throat immediately. “Anyway. Let’s ask them something real.”
“Oh, now we’re asking real questions?”
“Spirits!” You slap your hands onto the board. “What is Bucky’s deepest, darkest secret?”
He rolls his eyes.
Tumblr media
The shot glass has not moved in half an hour.
It’s honestly humiliating at this point.
You refuse to acknowledge this.
Bucky, however, has fully accepted it.
“So what now?” he asks, leaning back against your bed, fingers drumming idly against his knee.
You stare at the board. “Maybe it’s a slow connection.”
Bucky blinks. “Slow how?”
“Like two bars, not four?”
“You think ghosts have bad WiFi?”
“I don’t know, Bucky, I’ve never died before.”
“I have. WiFi’s not the issue.”
You shove his shoulder.
Bucky’s stupid smirk does not fade.
“Can we pack this up, or are you going to keep going until your humiliation kink ends?"
"I see you've been thinking about me and kinks in--."
"Stop talking."
You narrow your eyes at him, muttering something that sounds suspiciously like ‘fascist’, but place your fingers on the shot glass.
Bucky does the same.
You inhale deeply. “Spirits, is there anything you would like to say to us?”
Silence.
“Maybe they don’t know English.”
“Sure.”
“Should we try Morse code?”
“No.”
You hum, ignoring him. “What about—”
“Hey spirits. What’s the real reason why this one’s hiding from everyone?” Bucky cuts in smoothly.
It just slips out.
He looks as surprised as you do, but he recovers way quicker.
He keeps his eyes on the board, like maybe if he doesn’t make a big deal out of it, it won’t become a big deal.
The shot glass doesn’t move. Of course.
But you pull your hands away first.
Bucky watches, quietly, as you sit back, pressing your palms against your thighs.
“That’s a dumb question,” you mutter.
Bucky hums. “Yeah?”
You exhale sharply, shaking your head. “Yeah.”
A beat.
You force a grin and shove the Ouija board aside.
“Well,” you announce. “That was disappointing.”
He stretches his arms over his head, not looking at you as he says, “You’re avoiding.”
You pause mid-movement. “Avoiding what?”
“You know.”
You freeze for just half a second, then shake your head, laughing awkwardly. “I haven’t–”
“You have,” he says simply.
It’s the certainty in his voice. Like he already knows the answer, and he’s just waiting for you to say it out loud.
You sigh. “It’s stupid.”
Bucky shrugs, looking back at the board. “Not what I asked.”
A moment passes.
“It’s the name thing,” you say finally, voice flat.
“The name thing?”
“Maya’s trying to relaunch me. Or, like, reintroduce me. Whatever.” You wave a hand. “She’s planning this whole… thing. New identity, new codename, new brand. Something public-friendly.”
Bucky doesn’t say anything.
“She’s just doing her job,” you say quickly, like you’re cutting him off before he can say anything reasonable. “I get it. I do. But it pisses me off.”
Bucky hums. “Why?”
“It’s dumb,” you mutter, kicking at a loose thread in the carpet. “I shouldn’t care this much. But now, instead of just letting me deal with it, I have to make it a thing. I have to let everyone see me deal with it. They want me to launch like I’m some new product. Like they get to decide what version of me gets to exist.”
Bucky is silent for a long second.
Not because he doesn’t get it, but because he does.
Finally, after a while, he leans back slightly, “So what do you wanna do?”
You blink. “I don’t know. That’s the problem.”
Bucky raises an eyebrow. “You don’t know? Or you just don’t like your options?”
Your mouth presses into a thin line.
Because hes right-- it’s not that you don’t know what to do. Stay silent? People fill in the gaps themselves. Let Maya spin it? You become someone else’s project. Reject it outright? You’re the problem.
It’s not even a big deal. It’s just a name. A stupid PR campaign. But every option feels like losing. Like a trap.
You exhale. “I just don’t wanna think about it right now.”
Bucky nods. Like that answer’s good enough.
And for some reason, that makes your shoulders loosen a little.
For the first time all week, it feels like someone actually heard you.
You shift, stretching your arms dramatically. “Anyway. That’s my tragic backstory.”
Bucky exhales sharply. “More tragic things have happened to you.”
“Yeah, like some blue-eyed Avenger-boy not asking me out.”
“No.”
“Let me have my moment.”
A silence rests lightly.
“Alright,” he mutters. “What dumb shit are we doing next?”
“I don’t know. You want pizza?”
“I meant about your situation.”
You sigh, stretching your legs out in front of you. “Nothing. It’s fine. It’s not like I have a choice, anyway.”
Well that’s not entirely true.
It’s an idea that creeps up a little too fast. It makes him worry about how much influence you’ve actually had on him.
Bucky hums. “You’ve got one more option.”
You quirk an eyebrow. “Oh?”
He tilts his head, casual, almost lazy. “Yeah.”
When he finally tells you, your entire expression changes.
Slowly, deliberately, a grin spreads across your face.
“Oh,” you say, “you are evil.”
Bucky just leans back on his hands, completely at ease. “I had nothing to do with this.”
Tumblr media
Twenty minutes later, the board is still on the floor.
The shot glass is still doing absolutely nothing.
You and Bucky are back to arguing over whether or not ghosts have good taste in movies when your phone explodes with a call.
You barely have time to read the caller ID before--
“You released a fucking internet poll?!” Maya’s voice bursts through the speaker, loud and borderline hysterical– but not in a bad way.
Bucky immediately presses his lips together, suppressing a smirk.
You, however, grin like a criminal.
“Define released,” you say, like this is the most casual thing in the world.
“Oh, you know exactly what you did.”
“I do,” you agree easily. “But I like hearing you say it.”
Maya groans. “You put your entire name change up for a public vote.”
Tumblr media
Bucky coughs into his hand.
You tilt your head. “And?”
“And?!” Maya lets out a breath, “They're all chaotic fucking names and the poll already has two hundred thousand votes.”
Bucky immediately stares at you.
You blink, turning to look at him dramatically.
“Two hundred thousand?” you repeat, voice too calm.
Bucky raises an eyebrow.
You grin.
“Oh, I’m so famous.”
Bucky groans, while Maya is losing her mind on the other end.
“Oh my God,” she mutters. “Why are you like this.”
You shrug, flipping onto your back, staring at the ceiling. “I would say I was born this way but I was created. In a test tube and everything.”
Maya scoffs.
And Bucky, for some reason, has a look on this face, like he’s enjoying this more than he should.
Then, after a second, he mouths, “Have an actual conversation.”
You roll your eyes but tilt your head back toward the phone.
“Alright, fine,” you sigh. “Lemme step out. Yell at me in private.”
Maya exhales. “It’s not yelling.”
“It’s a little yelling.”
You roll onto your feet, shuffling toward the door
“Back in a sec,” you tell him.
Bucky just nods, watching as you disappear into the hallway.
And just like that he’s alone. Sitting on the floor. Next to a completely useless Ouija board.
And he doesn’t know why, but his fingers twitch.
Not because he believes in it. Not because he thinks it’ll work.
But… just because.
Instead, he just shakes his head, rolling his shoulders back.
“You’re losing it, Barnes,” he mutters under his breath.
But then, without warning-
The shot glass moves.
Bucky immediately stiffens, staring at the door but you’re still having an animated conversation with Maya, fingers pressed into your forehead.
Bucky’s gaze drags back to the board.
He doesn’t move an inch. Doesn’t even breathe.
Just watches as the glass drags itself across the board, slow and deliberate.
One letter.
Then another.
J.
Bucky’s jaw tightens.
A.
His stomach twists.
Then–
M.
And the shot glass tips over.
His heart stops.
And suddenly, he’s not in your room anymore.
He’s eight years old, sitting on the floor of a Brooklyn apartment, scribbling nonsense into a notebook while Rebecca Barnes, all of six years old, with messy braids and jelly-covered fingers, sticks a homemade label on his lunchbox.
“Becca.”
“What?”
“That’s not how you spell James.”
“Yes, it is.”
“No, it’s not.”
“Yes, it is.”
Bucky presses a hand against his face. “Mom—”
 He blinks.
The board is in front of him again.
The shot glass is still. He doesn’t know how long he’s been staring at it.
His head feels weirdly light. His chest feels too tight.
The door clicks shut behind you, and Bucky keeps still, in a way that says nothing happened.
Because if he doesn’t deal with it now, then it isn’t real. And if it isn’t real, then he doesn’t have to think about it.
You flop onto the bed, letting out a long, theatrical sigh.
“Well,” you exhale, dragging the word out. “That was a wild experience.”
Bucky registers the words, but not the meaning.
It’s like he hears you, but the sound is coming through the wrong frequency.
“Yeah?” he mutters, barely processing it.
The sound of your voice fills the space, but it doesn’t quite pull him in.
“Oh, yeah.” You roll onto your stomach, kicking your feet behind you. “First, she yelled at me. Then she was impressed, which honestly I think pissed her off more.”
Bucky nods. Because that’s what he’s supposed to do.
You’re still talking. That should ground him.
And yet his mind is somewhere else entirely.
The air feels off. Like the word JAM is still written in front of him.
“--already drafting apology emails before I even hung up.”
Bucky blinks once, twice.
He knows he should be engaged, responding, moving.
But instead, he just mutters, “Yeah.”
“You’re not listening to me.”
Bucky blinks. Finally, he fully snaps back.
His eyes flick toward you, registering you properly for the first time.
The way you’re watching him now, eyebrows raised, like you’ve been waiting for him to catch up.
He searches for the last thing you said.
Finds nothing.
Shit.
You press a hand to your chest, looking deeply entertained. “Are you ignoring me?”
Bucky scoffs. “Not right now specifically.”
“What was the last thing I said?”
Bucky opens his mouth. Then closes it.
“Wow. Incredible.” You clap your hands together once. “I’m heartbroken. Betrayed. Ignored.”
Bucky shakes his head, dragging a hand down his face. “Jesus Christ.”
“Yeah this must be what he felt like."
"Wow."
"No, no, it’s fine.” You wave a hand, mock casual. “I’ll just go die then.”
Bucky groans. “I’m back.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.”
“Because if you need to space out again, just know that I have an open window–”
Bucky balls-up the ouija board and tosses it at your head.
You shriek.
He’ll think about it later.
Whenever later is.
Tumblr media
The laptop screen flickers in the dim room, casting weird shadows against the wall.
You and Bucky are back on the floor, legs stretched out, backs leaning against the bed, watching one of the most ridiculous conspiracy theory videos you’ve ever seen.
The narrator speaks with the conviction of a man who has nothing to lose.
“--and that’s why I’m telling you, there’s no way the Pentagon incident was just a gas leak. Witnesses reported a mysterious figure in black who allegedly disappeared into the shadows–”
“That was Nat.”
You pause the video. “What.”
Bucky doesn’t even look away from the screen.
He gestures lazily toward the blurry figure circled in red.
“That’s her. Right before she cut the power and knocked out two guards. The whole thing took, like, a minute.”
You stare at him.
Then at the screen.
Then at him again.
“I fucking knew it.” You gesture vaguely at the screen. “I called this years ago. Everyone told me I was an idiot. ‘Oh, the footage is too blurry, you can’t even tell if it’s a person.’ Amateurs.”
“Feel validated?”
“Oh, hugely.”
He shakes his head, amused.
You squint at the screen. “What else? What’s real, what’s bullshit?”
Bucky thinks for a second.
He points to another clip.
“Alright, see this?”
A new segment starts playing, showing grainy footage of someone scaling the side of a high-security building.
The narrator’s voice kicks in again. “--but the real question is, who was this shadowy figure? And how did they evade detection when–”
“That’s me.”
You blink.
Bucky nods. “Stockholm. 2012. Whole mission went sideways, had to improvise.”
You exhale, pressing a hand over your face.
“Oh, my God.”
Bucky smirks. “Something wrong?”
“You’re telling me that a significant percentage of government cover-ups are just you and Nat running errands?”
Bucky shrugs. “I wouldn’t call them errands.”
“What would you call them, then?”
He thinks about it for a second.
“Side quests.”
You nod slowly.
“Right,” you say. “Of course. Are the lizard people real?”
Bucky huffs a short laugh. “I’m not answering that.”
“Wow. Interesting.” You stroke your chin. “You didn’t say no.”
Bucky rolls his eyes. You grin.
The videos keep playing, but neither of you are really watching anymore.
The narrator is still droning on, something about classified operations and shadow governments, but the energy has shifted.
Your eyes feel a little heavier now.
Bucky can tell.
You’ve stopped fidgeting, stopped making comments, stopped cracking jokes at his expense.
You’re just there, leaning into his side, slowly sinking deeper into the moment.
He exhales, tilting his head back against the bed, letting himself relax, too.
The silence between you is comfortable. Easy.
And before he fully registers it, your head is in his lap.
Bucky freezes.
It happens so smoothly that for a second, he wonders if you even realize what you did.
You don’t say anything.
Just curl up slightly, tucking your arms under your head, pressing your cheek against his thigh like it’s nothing.
Like this is normal.
Bucky forces himself to breathe.
To not react too much.
To not make it something. Because it’s not.
Right.
The glow from the laptop screen flickers, illuminating the soft edges of your face.
Something in Bucky’s chest tugs.
You sigh, voice quiet, almost lazy.
“Thanks for hanging out with me,” you murmur. “I needed that.”
Bucky swallows.
“Don’t mention it,” he mumbles.
And then before he can think too hard about it, his fingers brush lightly over your scalp.
A small, absentminded gesture.
Barely there.
But you don’t move.
Just breathe slower. Sink deeper.
Bucky knows he’s going to regret this later. His back is already complaining, his brain is already filing this away for future analysis.
But you look too at ease to move.
So he stays right there.

blind date (shigaraki x reader)
After endless failed attempts to help Tomura up his game, his friends have settled on their last resort: A blind date. Even before you show up, it's not going well. No quirks AU, 2k words.
this was originally in the x reader lovers community, but I figured I'd release it into the wild as well!
Part 1 Part 2
Part 1
Tomura gets being a little late. “A little late” is practically his middle name. He waits until the last minute to do almost everything, and that means any complications mean he’s running behind. Hypocrisy pisses him off so much that he tries to avoid it all costs, so that means he has to put up with it without bitching when somebody else is a little late, too.
Except half an hour isn’t a just a little late for anything, let alone a blind date Tomura didn’t want to go on in the first place. He’s been waiting outside the bar you were supposed to meet at for half an hour, and he’s pissed.
“That’s it,” he says after the eighteenth time a woman his age has walked past and hasn’t been you, whatever the hell you look like. “I’m out of here.”
“Just a little longer, honey,” Magne says. She’s smiling, but she’s also got her arm around Tomura’s shoulders, and if she squeezes any harder, Tomura’s going to pop like a balloon. “She’ll be here.”
“No, she won’t.” Tomura crosses his arms over his chest, tucking his hands in so nothing will bite them. They’re on the waterfront, in the summer, and there are insects everywhere. Whose dumb idea was this? “You showed her a photo of me and she changed her mind.”
“It’s a blind date,” Magne says. Like Tomura’s supposed to know what that means. “She doesn’t know what you look like, either. That’s why you have to stay right here and keep wearing that baseball hat. Otherwise she won’t know it’s you.”
Tomura hates the hat. Right now he hates everything. “So she got here on time, saw me, and left. Can I go?”
Magne shakes her head. “You promised you’d try.”
“I showed up. I waited for fucking half an hour. I’ve tried.” Tomura finally shoves Magne’s arm off his shoulders. “I’m done.”
Tomura wishes he could say he didn’t know how he got here, except he does. One of his friends is getting married, and there’s supposed to be a wild bachelor weekend in Vegas, one last blast of stupid before settling down. Most of the groomsmen are planning to hook up with as many people as possible, and that’s where the problems start. According to his friends, Tomura has no game. Zero game. Negative one hundred game. If he was rolling for his game stat, it would be a critical failure – and none of his friends want to babysit him when they could be getting laid.
Tomura wouldn’t want to babysit when he could be getting laid, either. His solution was to skip the bachelor weekend and just show up for the wedding in his stupid rented suit. But apparently his friends really want him to come to the party, and they decided that what he needed was to get some practice in before the trip. Which means that for the last month, Tomura’s spent every Friday night and weekend getting dragged through his own personal hell.
They made him try dating apps, which were a disaster, even though Tomura let Toga set up his profile and make the first move. Then they tried traditional online dating, which also sucked, because Tomura’s too picky and other people have standards. Hanging out in bars and clubs worked exactly how it’s always worked – it doesn’t – and when Dabi pulled out the big guns and dragged Tomura to the sex club where he met his fiancé, the only people who talked to Tomura were guys. Tomura thought that was sort of a good sign, even though he’s not into men, until he remembered that guys will fuck anything with a hole in it. He’s not high on himself on his best day, but that was a really shitty night.
He thought they were going to quit after that, but his friends had one last ace up their sleeve – a blind date, Magne’s idea, which Toga enthusiastically signed off on when she saw a picture of the woman Magne wanted to set Tomura up with. Toga’s type and Tomura’s type line up, sort of, and Spinner giving the photo two thumbs way up sealed the deal.
It’s not like Tomura was hopeful or anything. He just wanted to get his friends off his back. Still, rejection sucks, and ghosting sucks worse. He’d rather have you show up and tell him to his face that you weren’t interested than stand him up.
Magne collars Tomura again, but her phone starts ringing at the same time, Toga’s contact info popping up. “Don’t go anywhere,” she warns Tomura as she raises the phone to her ear. “We’re here. She’s not here yet. Can you tell him –”
Tomura ducks out from under her arm and books it into the crowd of people on the waterfront, figuring he can make it to the metro stop before Magne figures out which way he’s going. But even that can’t go his way today, because he runs into somebody who’s moving at warp speed in the opposite direction, colliding at the shoulder hard enough to make him stagger. Tomura’s not confrontational, but it’s the wrong fucking day. “Can you watch where you’re going? It’s not like you matter to whoever you’re going to –”
“Are you Tomura?”
Tomura’s heart lurches. He stares hard at you as you right yourself, picking up the backpack you dropped in the collision. There’s no way this is happening. There’s no universe in which his blind date would be someone like you.
He can see right away why Toga and Spinner approved of you, but he thought you’d be someone in his league, not somebody who’s several kilometers above it. Maybe Tomura’s too excited that you actually showed up to evaluate what you actually look like. He looks away, then looks back. Nope – you’re still pretty, even though your face is flushed and you’re breathing hard like you’ve just been running. Did you run here to meet him? Only one way to find out. “I’m Tomura.”
“I’m so sorry,” you say. “My boss held me back at work, and I missed my train –”
You’re wearing some kind of work uniform. Scrubs, maybe. Are you a nurse? “And then I couldn’t decide whether to wait for another train or just run, so I ran – but I don’t really run, so it took even longer –”
Tomura doesn’t run, either. When he was doing the stupid online dating thing, he sorted out everybody who said more than one sentence about working out. You pause to suck down a breath, then keep talking. “I know everything I just said sounds like an excuse, and I know you’re leaving,” you say, “but I was hoping I could catch you so I could say I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to stand you up. I get it if you want to call it off.”
Before Tomura can answer or even think about what he’s going to say, Magne bursts out of the crowd. “I told you not to run off,” she scolds, collaring Tomura again. “If you don’t stay put, there’s no way she’s going to – oh! You’re here!”
You nod. Magne looks you up and down. “I told you to dress cute,” she scolds. “And to get here on time. I practically had to chain him to a streetlight so he wouldn’t escape.”
“I’m sorry,” you say. “My boss –”
“Of course,” Magne says, scowling. “He’s never met a good time he doesn’t want to ruin.”
Magne knows who your boss is? “How do you to know each other?”
“She’s a pharmacy tech at the place I go to pick up my E,” Magne says. “She’s the only one who works there who isn’t an asshole, and her boss is the biggest asshole of them all. I only go in there when she’s on and he’s off. But let me introduce you the right way. Shigaraki, this is – ”
Tomura misses your name the first time Magne says it, catches it the second time, but it barely registers except as something he probably shouldn’t forget. You’re pretty. You’re not an asshole, or at least you’re the same kind of asshole as Magne and everybody else Magne’s friends with, including Tomura. Your boss is the wrong kind of asshole, which means you probably didn’t blow Tomura off on purpose. And you ran here so you could meet him even when you knew you were really late. You must have really wanted to meet Tomura. What did Magne tell you about him?
Tomura can ask you about that later. “So?” Magne is saying expectantly. “Can I leave you two alone, or are you going to run away again?”
“No,” Tomura says. “You can go.”
You look surprised. “Um –”
“Now.”
Magne cackles. She snatches the hat off Tomura’s head, ruffles his hair, and slaps him on the back hard enough that he staggers. “Have fun! I want all the details later!”
“Sure,” you say, bewildered, as she kisses you on the cheek. Tomura’s going to have to talk to you about that – any details you share with Magne will be fair game for the rest of Tomura’s friends, and he’s not sure how much he wants them to know. “Um, bye.”
Magne waves and vanishes into the crowd. Now it’s just you and Tomura standing on the sidewalk. You shuffle off to one side, out of the way, and Tomura follows you. “Are you sure you still want to do this?” you ask once you’re both leaning against the railing. “I get it if you’re not in the mood. When I’ve gotten stood up, I haven’t wanted to –”
“You’ve never been stood up in your life,” Tomura says, and your expression changes from confused to offended. “Look at you.”
You look down at yourself, then back up at him. “What does that mean?”
“I didn’t know anything about you and I got here on time. If I knew what you looked like beforehand I’d have been two hours early.” It sounded like a compliment in Tomura’s head, but he can’t tell if you’re taking it that way. “People like you don’t get stood up for dates.”
“I wish that were true,” you say. You look away. “I know how it feels. I get it if you don’t want to go out anymore.”
Tomura pretends he’s thinking about it. “How far did you run to get here?”
“Sixteen blocks.”
“You ran sixteen blocks to meet me. That cancels out being late,” Tomura says. You look up, surprised for a second or two before the relief kicks in. “I still want to go out.”
“Me, too,” you say. You smile at him. Women don’t usually smile at Tomura. People don’t usually smile at Tomura. He doesn’t know what to do with it. “Thanks, Tomura. For giving me a chance.”
“Yeah,” Tomura says. “What do we do now?”
“I don’t really know,” you admit. “It’s been a while since I went on a date.”
“Same,” Tomura says. ‘Never’ counts as a while in his book. “I don’t know – grab drinks or something?”
You nod. “Can we find somewhere to sit down for a second first? I don’t usually run that much, and I don’t want to pass out on you.”
“You can pass out on me if you want,” Tomura says. You blink. Tomura facepalms even though you’re looking right at him. “There are benches back there.”
The crowd on the sidewalk is only getting denser. Tomura doesn’t want to get separated from you, so he tells you to hold onto the back of his shirt. You grab his hand instead, and you’re still holding it when the two of you find a place to sit down. Still holding it once you’re both settled, searching for something to talk about. Tomura’s not optimistic about this. You’re too good to be true – the kind of woman who’d run sixteen blocks to meet him and hold his hand is a kind of woman who doesn’t exist. Even so, it’s – nice. Tomura laces his fingers with yours and decides to enjoy it while it lasts.

But I'm overwhelmed with jealousy
Tumblr media
Jealous! Se-mi x fem! reader
Summary: jealous gf se-mi headcannons!
Tw: jealous, possessive, aggression, intimation, killing/sabotaging players (didn’t get into detail), light hearted threats, se-mi is down BAD, se-mi wants readers attention, physical touch, humor + exaggeration (the kid part.) swearing and snarky remarks.. (kinda?) let me know if i missed anything!
authors note: can you see this is an enhypen reference? (the name of the fic and the pictures used..) dyk i actually name all my fics after my favorite artists (enhypen, illit, and ariana grande?!)
Not proofread!
Word count: 531
Tumblr media
Jealous! Se-mi x Reader Headcanons
• Se-mi isn’t the type to openly admit she’s jealous, but the moment she feels threatened, her entire demeanor changes. Her eyes darken, her body stiffens, and her jaw clenches ever so slightly.
• She has a sharp resting glare, so sometimes people don’t even realize she’s fuming with jealousy—until she makes a snarky remark under her breath.
• If she sees someone getting too comfortable around you, she’ll silently step closer, standing just a little too protectively beside you, as if she’s reminding them who you belong to.
When a Kid Compliments You:
• You two were just casually walking down the street when a little kid looked up at you and innocently said, “Wow! You’re really pretty!”
• Before you could even react, you felt the air change—Se-mi went completely silent.
• You turned to see her standing still, her eyes darkened, lips pressed into a thin line. Instant panic.
• “Oh nononono, Se-mi! You’re not gonna hurt the child—he just complimented me!” you blurted out, quickly stepping in front of her.
• She scoffed, shaking her head. “You think I’d actually fight a kid?”
• …You weren’t sure. Because the way she was looking at that child made you think she just might.
• The poor kid, oblivious to the tension, just giggled and ran off. Meanwhile, you spent the next five minutes calming Se-mi down, reassuring her that even toddlers weren’t competition for her.
When Another Player Flirts With You in the Game:
• Se-mi is not subtle when another player tries flirting with you.
• She immediately steps between you and them, fixing them with a cold, unreadable stare.
• “Keep your eyes on the game, not my girlfriend” she says flatly scaring the other player away.
• If they don’t get the message, she doesn’t mind “accidentally” knocking into them during red light green light or making their life slightly more difficult.
• One time, Player 230 “jokingly” said, “Damn, Y/N, if we make it out of here, you should go on a date with me instead.”
• Se-mi didn’t say a word—she just gave him a look that made him rethink and question what he said then he takes what he said back.
Random Moments of Jealousy:
• Eye Contact? Nope. If someone so much as stares at you too long, Se-mi will stare back—until they get so uncomfortable they look away first.
• Physical Touch? Absolutely Not. If someone puts a hand on your shoulder or leans in too close, she’ll immediately pull you toward her with zero hesitation.
• Possessive Gestures. She often rests her hand on your waist, gives you her jacket, or calls you “mine” loud enough for others to hear.
• When she’s feeling particularly territorial, she’ll kiss you in front of others—just to make it crystal clear who you belong to.
When You Reassure Her:
• Sometimes, her jealousy is unreasonable, and you know it.
• “Se-mi, do you really think I’d leave you for a random stranger?”
• She crosses her arms and looks away, muttering, “I don’t like people thinking they have a chance.”
• You can’t help but smile and grab her hand, pulling her close.
• “You’re the only one for me, dummy.”
• She doesn’t respond, but you see the corner of her lips twitch—and that’s how you know she’s secretly pleased.
Overall:
• Se-mi is undeniably protective and territorial, but she trusts you enough not to lash out unless absolutely necessary.
• She won’t always voice her jealousy, but she’ll make sure everyone knows you’re hers in one way or another.
• Despite her sharp and intimidating nature, she secretly just wants reassurance that you love her as much as she loves you.
• And honestly? You think it’s kinda cute—as long as she doesn’t actually try to start a fight with a child again.

Do you think you could do some headcanons for Toby if he was in college? I think it'd be fun to see something like that for him!! ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧

╰┈➤ Tobias College Head-canons
Summary: Head-canon college for Tobias Rogers
Warning(s): 18+ content, mentions of math, mentions of canonical information, mention of alternative universe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alternative Universe
Ooo I love this idea SO MUCH OMG
Since his parents kept him homeschooled pretty much his whole life, college is the first ‘real’ school he attends
Of course now that Toby is older they deem that he’s grown enough and that the world has grown enough to let the two collide
Toby… does not like college as much as he thought he would.. a bit of fault to his family
He’s grown so used, so attentive to his mother and sister’s care that being by himself finally is very difficult
He spends a lot of nights on call with Lyra to help himself
Connie calls 2-3 times a day no matter the time difference she always makes sure to call Toby on HIS time zone that’s appropriate
Since his dad is the one good with work Tobias often calls him to help with studying. He’s never quite had to study in the same sense as now so he has zero clue as to what the fuck he’s doing
Of course.. the world is still immature when Toby is college age, though maybe not as much as before but that doesn’t mean Toby doesn’t still come across some unsavory people
IDEA!!!: Toby attending the same college as Tim and Brian??? Omg so cute anyways
Toby mostly goes to a college in Oregon or Washington. He loves the climate and season changing, the nature and funny people
HE HATES CLASSES
He loves his profs though, they’re so funny unironically and he loves when his afternoon prof just brings her dog in
…idk anything about college sorry
He was always very academic gifted and college is no different but by the gods is it… a horror movie
Toby would probably major in something like biology, criminology, Human Resources or straight up psychology. It really depends!!
LOVEW HOLIDAYS, loves being able to go back home and hang out with his family and being babied by his mom
Calls his dad at 3am like “dad… what’s taxes..”
Current Universe
This is probably while he’s in the SCP foundation, they set up college courses for him to take
Again, Tobias is stupidly intelligent so he learns fairly quick
Finds out he hates math
Hates. Math.
But is ridiculously good at long division (actually his favorite… psycho)
He also loves multiplication but DO NOT ask him to multiply beyond 11, that’s when he starts losing it
Tim helps him a lot <3
Sometime Toby has a hard time remembering how to read English words so Tim explains it for him
“What’s that thing that go dirk dirk dirk..”
“Helicopter.”
“Yes!”
Tobias is actually so stupidly academically gifted he graduated earlier, which the foundation was actually thankful for
It’s hard lying to the government
Putting my own headcanons aside, foundation set up for Tim and Toby to live normal lives (under observation of course), they both live in their own separate townhouses
Private by Toby is still close to Tim when he has breakdowns
Again… 3am
“Timothy Wright, you never fucking told me about taxes!”
Falls off his bed laughing
“Why don’t they just tell me what I owe??? WHY DO I EVEN OWE ANYTHING.”
Toby might shoot a billionaire himself
Toby’s college experience in Canon-universe however is definitely 100% online with profs working FOR the SCP to help Tobias
They even set up for Tim to continue his own college courses since ya know.. he only finished somewhat and not everything he wanted to do

Tumblr media
Cars have been your thing for years, ever since you were a kid in your dad's shop. They'd been your whole life. And when you finally got your first car, a BMW I series 2013, you put your heart and soul into that car. Your dad had managed to get it used, knowing that you would be able to fix it no problem. Make it good as new. That was your talent.
It's been a few days and right now you were under the car. Tinkering away at finer details, bringing it to your exact mental image. Which was quite complex for what the car was. As you worked, you failed to notice your girlfriends enter the garage. Gretchen and Karen sharing a glance with a certain gleam in their eyes. Regina with her arms folded, eyes never leaving the spot where she knew you were working under the car. They loved coming to watch you. Seeing you all dirtied up, the way your muscles flexed and how you seemed to know just about everything in this field. It was beyond hot. Honestly, hot may have been not the right word to describe the sight. What's better than hot? Mm, holy? Godly? Something like that.
Probably would have gone the whole time without noticing them. If not for Regina's cat call whistle. Your heart practically leapt out of your chest at the sudden sound, flinching so hard all your limbs hit the bottom of the car. "Ah- fuck-" You grunted, giving your head a rub after smacking it on the surface. Christ. You rolled out from underneath, the creeper (the little thing with wheels that mechanics lay on) sliding along with practiced ease. Your head popped out from under as you looked at your girlfriends. Who were losing it laughing. "Ow." You murmured.
Regina walked over and crouched in front of you, giving your cheek a little squeeze before she wiped the oil smear from it. Only making it worse. Which was her real intention. Then she kissed you. Your lips moving against hers with a force that got a noise out of you. She pulled away, watching you with hints of desire in her eyes. "Better?" Regina had a smug grin across her lips but you nodded.
"Loads.." You pushed out further, getting off the creeper and stretching. A bunch of your bones cracked with your movement, making you grimace and shake your arms a bit," damn. Never gets any easier coming up from there."
Gretchen chuckles and walks over to you, wrapping an arm around your waist. Hardly minding how dirty your work clothes were," so... we have a little issue. With Reggie's jeep." Her hand rests on your chest, getting your attention.
"Issue? Like what?" You look at Regina for an explanation, since it was her jeep and all. Regina plays innocent, as though she totally did nothing to it. Because why would she ruin her own car? It's not like she had a hot mechanic partner she'd get to watch fix it... nope, she sees no reason for why she would ruin it.
"Oh... I was supposed to get an oil change a while ago. Like two weeks or something. Didn't feel like it," Regina shrugged, looking down at her nails. Her tone laced with innocence. You cringed at that. How Regina was even able to use her jeep right now you weren't sure, the engine had to be fucked up.
"Regina. You're going to completely fuck over your car," You sighed. Walking out of the garage at a slight jog to check on the jeep. Regina smirked as she watched you run, admiring the certain... aspects of your body. She glanced at Gretchen and the two shared a silent amusement. While Karen looked a little worried for the car too, following after you.
"Will the car be okay?" Karen asked, looking at you as you pop open the hood. You look at her and give Karen a quick kiss.
"Ain't no car I can't fix. Don't worry," You smiled and got to work. Giving everything a quick once over in the hood before even trying to go under the car to drain it. That's when you noticed something. A whole ass spark plug was missing. What the fuck? Your eyes widened and your head snapped over to Regina. Who was walking over to you with her arms across her chest and Gretchen behind her.
"How do you have a whole ass missing spark plug?" You asked, Regina just shrugged again.
"I dunno." She took it when she got here. That's how. You sighed deeply. Who knew your own girlfriend was your hardest client.
You went back to your garage, grabbing a few tools. You didn't want to drive the jeep in. Just in case you fucked it up further. So you brought the equipment to it. Getting it work while your girlfriends watched in amusement.

It's actually insane how obvious the double-standards in the HH-fandom are when it comes to Lilith and Lucifer. I have seen so many people villainize Lilith despite the fact that we know next to nothing about her while putting Lucifer on a pedestal, even though from what we see they're both flawed characters.
"Lilith abandoned Hell to live in Heaven!"
Lucifer straight-up abandoned Hell from day one. Until her disappearance, Lilith was the one doing the actual ruling while Lucifer was making rubber ducks and who knows what else in his workshop.
Lilith was the one inspiring and uplifting their people and making sure that Hell was at least acceptable to live in and not just a dirty hole in the ground. Lucifer never even tried.
We don't know why Lilith went to Heaven or if she has a bigger plan and what that plan might be. But y'all are pretty quick to judge a character who hasn't even had any spoken lines yet.
"Lilith is going to sabotage Charlie!"
We don't know that. Yes, Lute demands of Lilith to stop Charlie's plans for redeeming sinners, but the scene cuts off before we get Lilith's response to that.
And guess what Lilith's very first reaction to Lute telling her to deal with her daughter so that Heaven can stay on top is?
A displeased frown. You could interpret that as her just being annoyed that she has to leave her sunny beach (which is what most HH-fans seem to be going with) but honestly from what we know of Lilith, I think it's more plausible that she's upset about, y'know. This angel trying to strongarm her into stopping her daughter from achieving good societal change for their people.
"Lilith was a bad mother!"
Again, we don't know that.
And seeing how Charlie speaks of her, I don't even think that's true. Whenever Charlie speaks of Lilith it's with fondness and admiration.
Lilith is the person who inspired Charlie to found the Hazbin Hotel.
Lilith is the one whose love for the kingdom of Hell was transferred over to Charlie. Whenever we hear Lucifer talk about the Sinners he rules over, it's with disdain at best.
Yes, she's been absent for a long time in the show's present but let's be honest, how long is seven years for immortal beings? And before that she spent Charlie's entire childhood teaching her daughter to love and cherish Hell and it's inhabitants.
Doesn't really sound like an abusive mom to me.
"Lilith intentionally drove a rift between Charlie and Lucifer!"
This take actually annoys me the most, because there is zero evidence that Lilith ever tried to drive Lucifer and Charlie apart.
HH-fans really like to jump on the one flashback in "More Than Anything" where Lilith takes toddler Charlie from Lucifer to prove that Lilith supposedly tried to drive a wedge between them but I honestly don't see it? Lilith was literally just taking her daughter into her arms, can y'all chill???
Adding onto that, the reason why Charlie's and Lucifer's relationship is strained in the present is because of Lucifer. The show pretty much spells that out for us. Lucifer spent years holed up in his palace instead of talking to or even just supporting his daughter.
And when, after years of radio silence, Charlie makes the first step to reach out because she needs his help, Lucifer not only continuously badmouths her dream and the sinners she's taken under her wing, he flat-out tells her that he doesn't believe in what she's trying to do.
Really, if Lilith wanted Charlie and Lucifer to drift apart, she didn't even need to do much, Lucifer did a fine job alienating his daughter all by himself.
TL;DR It's interesting to see how many people immediately jumped on the Villain Lilith-train, even though everything we see and know about her positions her more as an anti-hero, while Lucifer is the unambiguous poor uwu Good Boi despite the show establishing him as an absent father and an abysmal ruler.

safe and sound \\ alexia putellas x bronze!reader
This is for @patriwoso who requested this many months ago! I hope I did it justice :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/N Bronze.
Lucy’s little sister.
Alexia thought she had zero to no chance of you saying yes to a first date due to your older sister. When you said yes, her whole demeanour changed. Everyone can see how much Alexia loves you, except your sister. Keira had expressed Lucy’s concerns with you and you shake them off as you don’t care what Lucy says. Yes you love Lucy and she’s your best friend but her older sister concerning phase is getting old and you’re annoyed.
A tight arm pulls you out of your slumber and a kiss on your shoulder blade makes you turn around with a soft smile. Alexia pushes a stray piece of hair from your face before kissing your lips softly.
“Good morning my angel”
“Good morning Ale”
“We have a little time before the match. So you and me, breakfast date?”
“Sounds divine”
You kiss Alexia as she rolls you on top of her, straddling her waist. Alexia showers you in compliments before taking you to the actual shower to get cleaned up before your date. You get dressed in a cute, summer outfit and Alexia does a double take when she walks back in the room after feeding Nala and is speechless.
“Freeze bebita, don’t move. Dios mio where is it?” Alexia rummages through the drawer for the polaroid camera, only to find it has no polaroids inside. Scrambling for her phone, Alexia takes many photos and stares at you lovingly.
“Are you ready to go?” You nod and your hands intertwines as you go downstairs to leave. Getting to Alexia’s car, she opens the door for you and gives you a peck as you get in. On the way to the café, you get a text from Keira that Lucy’s in a grouchy mood she she will probably be a little over protective today. You sigh and slouch in you seat, thinking how annoying Lucy is going to be today. Alexia stops at a red light and looks over at you, putting a hand on your bare thigh.
“Forget Lucy, forget everything. For the next few hours it’s us time. No phones or anything. Just us” You nod and hold Alexia’s hand in yours.
“How do you always know what I want?”
“I just know you so well mi amor”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A delicious breakfast leads to a scroll through the Sunday markets and Alexia buying whatever you want. Towards the end, Alexia went to pay for somethings a few stores down so you decided to buy her a bunch of sunflowers. She comes back and you give her the flowers, making Alexia confused but happy at the same time.
“For always taking care of me and for treating me like the most delicate thing in the world. Te amo mi amor”
Alexia kisses you and you both head back to the car to get ready for the game later on.
Alexia pulls up to the stadium and you wave to the fans waiting to get a glimpse of their favourite players. You both get out and Alexia grabs your bag before you could even close the door. A look is shared between you both and Alexia shakes her head with a smug smirk that paints her face. Grabbing your hand, she pulls you gently into the stadium to prepare for the game. Little did you know, Lucy watched the interaction with a hard, ‘don’t fuck with me’ look on her face and headphones on.
As everyone is about to go, Alexia gives your a quick kiss and wishes you good luck as you’re in the starting XI. A hand on your lower back guides you out and you know it’s Alexia immediately. Lucy didn’t like that at all. She moved Alexia’s hand up before walking past you both.
Barca win the game 5-0 unsurprisingly as the team is one of the lower teams in the league. You scoring a hattrick and Alexia assisting the other two goals. Turning slightly to your left, Keira and Lucy seem to be talking about something that’s getting a little heated. You keep watching them and two strong arms wrap around you and soft kisses on your cheek.
“You played good princesa”
“Thanks Ale”
Looking back at Keira and Lucy, Keira gets fed up and walks away. You sigh and start to walk into the locker room with Alexia following you like a lost puppy. You both quickly shower and leave to get home to have leftovers and cuddle on the couch. Tying the last knot in your shoe lace, a presence next to you grabs your bag. Alexia holds out her hand and you take it silently. A scoff is heard from behind you as you both are about to walk out and you turn to see Lucy rolling her eyes. About to comment on Lucy’s actions, Keira signals not to engage but you ignore her, it’s enough.
“What’s your problem?”
“Nothing, leave me alone”
“Well it sure is something. Don’t think I haven’t seen all the times you tell Keira or someone about how Ale treats me after she does something. I knew it was you who told Mum about the incident and how you pulled Ale’s arm off me earlier. So Luce, what’s your problem?” You finish with a loud and angry tone in your voice, one that is usually soft and almost quiet.
“Not here” Lucy mumbles as her behaviour is finally being called out.
“Why not? You behave like this in front of everyone”
Alexia pulls on your arm and whispers for you to stop. Shaking your head and you turn back to Lucy, determined to find the reason why.
“Just drop it okay, for crying out loud!” Lucy swings her bag over her shoulder and storms out.
Keira mumbles to come over later and talk to Lucy as she’s going to Aitana’s. Silently agreeing, Keira hugs you and goes after her girlfriend. Tears begin to well up in your eyes as you face Alexia. She pulls you into a tight, secure hug and whispers that everything will be okay. Saying goodbye to your teammates and hopping into Alexia’s Cupra was your favourite part of the day (when you usually love training).
Alexia decided that after what happened in the locker room, takeaway is the best option for dinner. Ordering the few different things from your favourite pizza ship, the doorbell rings while you’re in the shower and Alexia opens it to find Lucy holding the pizza and sides. Alexia moves out of the way, silently inviting Lucy in. The pizza is placed in the living room and Alexia quickly mentions getting something from the bedroom. Running up the stairs, Alexia goes into the bathroom gently alerting you of her presence.
“Bebeita, pizzas her and also Lucy” The shower turns off and you wrap yourself up in the towel Alexia’s holding.
“Did she say what she wanted?” Alexia shook her head.
“Okay, I’ll be down in a minute” Alexia decided to give you some privacy so she kisses you softly before whispering.
“Whatever happens downstairs, I’m not going anywhere” Before giving you the softest forehead kiss.
Five minutes later, you come downstairs and Lucy stands up quickly.
“I may or may not have come to my senses”
It’s your turn to roll your eyes before gesturing for Lucy to continue as you all sit on the couches. You lean back into Alexia and of course hold her hands.
“I did some thinking and realised my behaviour since you two began dating was not sister or best friend like. I want to apologise and say I’m sorry for all the death glares, eye rolls and scoffs” Squeezing Alexia’s hand, you silently tell her it’s going well, so far.
“I guess I’m still in over protective, older sister mode. I realise, with Keira’s help, I need to cool it. I can see that you two are so in love with each other and Alexia treats you like the most delicate thing. Bienvenido a la familia Alexia” (welcome to the family Alexia)
You look back at Alexia, realising she might not have understood the whole speech but the last part put that beautiful smile you love on her face.
“Yeah I hope so soon” You mumble but Lucy gives you a smirk.
“So we’re good?”
“Yeah, we’re good sis. Just stop being an overprotective little shit”
You both hug tightly and Alexia goes to get plates.
“Pizza time?”

can you pleeeeease post your dm sexuality/gender hcs on here.... 🥺 i don't have a twitter but i wanna know. it's like a pandora's box to me now i'm like scratching at the door. let me in
heres the link 2 the thread (mild spoilers btw) ill post a transcript under the cut for ppl who dont have twitter
first off i think laios relationship to sex is super removed for like 50 reasons without even getting into his actual sexuality
he grew up in a place with very repressed ideas about sex and has a lot of fear about asserting his presence in situations
his special interest takes precedent over any social interactions he has and the level of closeness he feels towards people
he has a hard time figuring out his feelings towards other people both bc hes autistic and bc he has freaky deviantart fetishes that make sex in his mind a very abstract concept <- this one is me projecting mostly
that aside, i feel like gender-wise hes attracted to ppl so infrequently it may as well be entirely case-by-case
the idea of him being gay appeals to me from the 'raised with traditional values he Does Not fit into/hasnt begun to question it yet' perspective, i lauve characters who put a lot of stock into performing a role thats expected of them and fail miserably for unknown (gay) reasons
from his perspective tho i dont think he would ever really label himself anything. hes going to pride parades in the shirt+shorts Ally Fit to clap for his friends
hes also 'cis by indifference' imo... i love tmasc laios hcs it just doesnt mesh w his personal history to me. i do think hes got some kind of therian gender thing going on (not trans or nb but a secret third thing) but i cant see him changing anything abt his appearance/pronouns to accommodate that post-canon. hes just doin his thang
falin is in a similar boat for gender. i LOOVE tfem falin but the village repression thing has been bugging at me so i dont think i subscribe to it anymore (canon purist sorry) BUT if u hold that hc i am clapping and cheering regardless
instead i was propagandised to a while back and i LOVEEE the idea that being fused w a male dragon and the residual traits she has after being revived have given her a type of gender euphoria she didnt realise she was missing. a little boygirl swagger if u will
sexuality-wise i also dont think she would care to label herself, shes a lesbian by virtue of only being interested in One woman and zero other people. without marcille i do think shes still exclusively attracted to women, and i like to imagine she might experiment around a bit during her travels post-canon (pre-relationship). hearing abt it might put marcille on the news though
marcille is very simple That is a transfem lesbian. she cant get pregnant, shes obsessed w being femme and all that combined w her half-tallman struggles to be seen as 'properly feminine' by elf standards reads very transfeminine to Me. also her bookboy crush REEKS of comphet its not subtle
i think a more comfortable marcy might have the space to experiment w being elf butch like her manga boys but thats mainly self indulgence for me. utena could have saved her
senshi is gay his whole thing is abt not being able to perform dwarven masculinity to a proper standard (soft hearted, not as strong or rugged as his peers) which is like gaycoding 101. also hes a bear. homosexuality be damned by boy can work a grill
adding onto this i rly think senshi got some type of euphoria from being an elf in the changeling chapters. he was feeling himself so much i think he was using it as an outlet to have fun being a little fem and fruity without needing to justify it. do u understand
i dont have any particular opinions abt him gender-wise beyond that. his bulge is an essential part of his character design but i also saw a transmasc senshi a couple days ago that made me nod my head thoughtfully so i could go either way
chilchuck is cis and bisexual this is just canon. not even just his old man crush on senshi altho i do think thats very funny but they put his ass on a cover themed like hes in a dating sim with all the men and women in the cast and then slapped it in front of a chapter called "bicorn". i simply cant pass up that kind of overt signaling. its so fucking funny what else is there to say truly
izu to ME is a transmasc aroace lesbian (this one has the least basis in canon i just know it to be true) shes a little genderfluid with it nd uses he/she i think. i like to imagine she consistently uses masculine personal pronouns to refer to herself either way tho (boku, ore)
i think izutsumis gender/sexuality is entirely secondary in priorities to her body dysphoria. she has a lot of learning and acceptance 2 do before that kind of self discovery is on the docket and in my mind eschewing gender on some level is part of that. get sillay
shuro is cishet but at least he feels bad about it. next listen listen to me i dont think he would ever actually examine this but i need u to put on ur tin foil hat with me for one second. i think estrogen could have saved her. i have more thoughts on this but im not gonna propagandise too much on this post just know that im right
kabru is a transmasc bisexual this is also practically text. his whole thing of being treated like a doll by milsiril to put in pretty dresses, plus i think it would be pretty easy for him to stealth in the west since tallmen are seen as inherently more masculine than elves
(i also think changing genders is just more common for elves. theyre androgynous enough that it wouldnt be hard and like who in their right miiiiind would be the same gender for 500 years. dwarves too)
i think he started presenting as male socially in the west but didnt need to consider medical transition until he moved to a more mixed culture where other races might see him as a woman
i dont have to explain the bisexual part. have u seen him
namari is a butch bisexual this is just canon straight up. shes not transmasc but i think the default settings for dwarven women is like 4 years of T regardless. shes a hit at all the local cruising spots despite her renfaire nerdisms i know this
and just bc im thinking abt em kiki and kaka are identical and kiki is tfem :} theyre both attracted to women but kaka is a sub so i forgive him
THATS ALL 4 NOW theres a lot of characters so i cant have thoughts abt all of them at once but i hope this was good. im right about everything forever as per usual

so i believe you said you were aiming to complete the reading challenge by the end of pride month. did you manage it? any books you particularly recommend?
I did not!
Since my last post I managed to read exactly zero new books, so I still have nine to go. (Actually while writing this I realized it might be 10 actually beause I repeated an author.)
I do have some recommendations:
If you want gay urban fantasy:
The Tarot Sequence by K.D. Edwards is one of the best series I've read in a really, really long time. The first three books are out so far and act as a complete trilogy, and then the next set of books is in progress.
The Soulbound series by Hailey Turner is much more classic urban fantasy and really gave me Ilona Andrews vibes.
Small Gods of Calamity by Sam Kyung Yoo is a horror/paranormal urban fantasy mystery set in Korea that gave me a flavor of urban fantasy I rarely get to see.
If you want fantasy romance or fantasy with strong romance elements:
The King's Weaver by Novae Caelum is a fun and interesting romantasy with a genderfluid princess and a bi king. I had a really good time reading it.
A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadows gave me the arranged marriage book I was looking for, which is saying something because I read a ton of arranged marriage books.
The Phoenix Keeper is about sapphic zookeepers and also phoenix husbandry, and it's cute and a fun read.
A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland has some interesting worldbuilding and a slow burn.
The Stolen Court by Megan Derr has really good ace representation, which just scratches the surface for the queer representation in Megan Derr's books. I particularly recommend this series (Unbreakable Soldiers) and the Tales of the High Court series.
If you want fantasy with little to no romance:
The Hands of the Emperor by Victoria Goddard feels like one of those 20k oneshot fanfics that hits that really specific way, except it's 800 pages long. I've read it 4-5 times in the last few months.
The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett is a Sherlock Holmes-y fantasy mystery with some really creative worldbuilding and some dyslexia representation.
If you want sports romance:
Time to Shine by Rachel Reid is a fun gay friends to lovers hockey romance with what read to me, at least, as ace-spectrum representation (though it's not explicitly stated).
If you want contemporary romance:
One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston is a largely contemporary romance with a hint of fantasy, and it's also a book I put off reading for yours and then I read it in one night and cried a bunch.
Make Room for Love by Darcy Liao is a cute trans sapphic roommates to friends to lovers romance about labor organizing that I immediately recommended to one of my friends after I finished it.
In the Long Run by Haley Cass is a sapphic romance about a woman returning to her hometown after a long time away. One thing I really liked about this one is that both characters are late 30s/early 40s, which is a nice change of pass for romance novels.
If you want romantic suspense:
The Honor series by Radclyffe is one of the quintessential sapphic romantic suspense series. I didn't love book one when I first read it, but I actually jumped forward to the last book in the series (which has a genderfluid character as one of its POV characters) and really enjoyed it, and I've been working my way through it since.
Criminal Intentions by Cole McCade is a dark romantic suspense series with a really interesting setup, where the series is organized into "seasons" with short novels or novellas essentially making up each "episode."
Tallowwood by N. R. Walker is a tight, well-written standalone romantic suspense novel, and it's set in Australia so I got to learn some stuff too, which is always a plus.
If you want historical romance:
A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall is a great regency romance novel with a trans main character who reunites with her best friend who thinks she's dead.

WOOO FUCKED UP XIANXIAN. I humbly ask for how the burial mounds change him (ur au is feeding me and giving me inspiration to draw it is a NEED for more info)
Heheeheheheeee oookay!!! Who am I to deny such a loving worshipper of my shrine? For starters, let's talk about the hair. The iconic, grimy hair. It's covered in really dried blood and dirt from you know, qi deviation supreme plus tearing apart a guy with his bare hands plus getting beat half to death PLUS being thrown into the Burial Mounds. This, is quite an issue, especially with the previous knots n shit always in his hair anyway. At first, Wei Ying is stubborn about keeping it, stubborn about being able to honour his parents while they are dead, but then there's the issue of practicality. Eventually he breaks and saws off the worst parts of his hair with Suibian, meaning that his hair...well, looks like it's been cut with a sword. He can put it up into a ponytail with his mother's ribbon, but there's always different bits slipping free because there's all different lengths.
Now the rest of it! You know how I mentioned that the Burial Mounds sent resentful energy curling through Wei Ying's system as like a mini heal before his golden core could start healing it all up himself? Well, that shows the most in his EYE. REMEMBER??? I said that he has a sort of cloudy eye from a training session with Wen Xu!! SO, his eye has resentful energy just swirling around in there (in the sclera to be specific), and he goes through bouts where he can see out of it really well and he's like holy SHIT this is great, and then sometimes he can't see out of it at ALL. It's either one hundred percent or zero percent. The Burial Mounds is really trying Its best, I promise.
Also also, I mentioned how the resentful energy seemed to 'stain' his fingers and basically leaves his joints impossible to move sometimes without an acupuncture session from Wen Qing to help the resentful energy 'flow'. Well, without these sessions, mixed with much more resentful energy being used each day, this 'stain' is basically not even a stain anymore, dark black and reaching up to mid bicep at least, slowly crawling up to his shoulders. His arms are in constant pain, they hurt to move and use, but Wei Ying can't just not use his arms, so he has to power through them. Some days, when he can find time to meditate a little, it helps, but it's just a temporary fix each time.
The resentful energy is also crawling through his veins to help with any breaks and bursts so there are like patches of his skin that are also a deep black, thin cracks in his skin where it has breached his skin. His legs and hips deal with this the most because they dealt with a lot of the blows and took most of the damage during the fall, so there are splashes of resentful energy and cracks of it where his bone broke skin. He's basically in constant pain and will be until he can get out of the Burial Mounds so his golden core has juice to heal his fucked up body. A different note but he's also just very skinny, very gaunt, just muscle (because he needs to learn how to fight through the never ending pain and Suibian gets restless without the wind on her blade).
The resentful energy constantly within his body is also...having stranger effects. He doesn't notice any of them of course, he doesn't have time to think about why he doesn't need to blink basically at all anymore, why his neck doesn't break with how he moves it, or why his bones just click and shift slightly instead of breaking if they bend inwards instead of outwards. The Burial Mounds doesn't want him to hurt anymore, so It's helping by making him....more flexible? (Changing his body. Twisting it.) His joints can all be just snapped backwards and it doesn't cause that much pain, just a vague soreness or like an itch that can't be stitched. Sometimes, when the resentful energy is at its strongest, he can go almost an hour without breathing before he randomly does one of those big breaths and doesn't notice it's the first one he's done in a while.
I almost forgot about the scars!! So many scars. Oh my god. His fingers are very crooked because they probably fractured both from the beatings and also while ripping a guy's chest open, which I can only assume takes a fair bit of force. It's easy to see where the new scars are with his new tone of skin - tanned corpse!! The new scars are a mixture of beating scars, raised skin where bone has broken flesh and then burn scars. "Why are there-" I'M OBVIOUSLY GOING TO TELL YOU. GOD. It's because the few times that Wei Ying is meditating and his natural qi can sort of 'take the wheel a little', it tries to burn out the resentful energy, but it's literally in Wei Ying's skin and body, so it just ends up burning at his skin n shit. I don't know where else to add this so I'm putting this here but this man is literally in ONE robe. He is in his inner robe with gashes rips and blood stains and mud on it. He is TITS out, the resentful energy pulsing through his brand mark (claw marks from where he tried to rip it out during his qi deviation by the way).
BONUS because I'm going to make this the post of the day (I mistimed everything siiiigh) -> The Burial Mounds definitely has a 'physical' form that he takes for Wei Ying's benefit, and It tries to appear in a form that is known to Wei Ying. However, It only has Wei Ying as a reference....and we know that Wei Ying's Not Doing Great right now. Of course, It is made from the collective resentful energy of thousands of deaths upon these grounds, but it's more a feeling, a concept, rather than all of the spirits remembering absolutely everything about themselves. They do not remember what they once were, they don't remember what humans are, these are creatures fuelled only by hatred, or revenge, or loss, or sadness etc. That is what makes up the Burial Mounds.
Anyway, so, using Wei Ying (and generic things) as a frame of reference, what does the Burial Mounds look like? For one, It is like, scary tall, looming over Wei Ying - this is so It can take care of him! It has noticed that the younger creatures are often smaller than the older creatures, and Wei Ying is Its child, so It must be bigger than him! It just is...a lot bigger than him. It's also very skinny, because Wei Ying is skinny, and once again, young creatures are often smaller imitations of the older creatures, so It must be skinnier! This leads to an obviously terrifying effect of Its skin clinging to Its 'bones' because It doesn't doesn't know what muscles are and doesn't think It needs them like Wei Ying.
It also notices that Wei Ying has really long hair and is really determined to keep it long, so of course It has to have long hair as well!!! Thick, black hair that hangs around Its face, revealing a singular red eye, and down Its body, dragging at Its feet with every move it makes. Sometimes, when Wei Ying is stressed and his hands aren't too bad, he practices hairstyles on It. Its actual features are indiscernible. They flicker and change, different features of the spirits fuelling It appearing at any moment. It has a singular grey robe on, and It looks like It's just crawled out of a grave with it on. Its impossibly pale skin is littered with scars, shifting to symbolise different spirits' deaths as well.

chapter four. series masterlist. main masterlist.
five hargreeves x reader
word count: 1.7k
book summary: five hargreeves gets lost in time and your father forces you to go after him, leaving you to get lost in a completely different kind of solitude. after decades, you meet at the hands of the handler, except you're not exactly happy to work with him after what he did. the two of you agree to put your differences aside until you save the world. how hard could that be?
author's note: i forgot how much i like this story, but i also forgot i started writing it in 3rd person and not 2nd so it kinda feels more oc than x reader?? maybe i'll change it in the next chapter but i thought i'd give one last attempt for consistency, i want this series to follow the show but i also want to add new scenes so i tried that out here :) also you can probably tell how much i love angry five lmaoo

As someone who has spent most of their life in a dormant state, Eight still preferred to be asleep rather than deal with the world while awake. One has zero expectations to live up to when asleep, it’s quite freeing.
She was laying peacefully on Vanya’s couch, curled in the fetal position with a pillow cradling her head. Her face was set in an unusually calm expression, contrasting from the typical scowl it normally  displayed.
Initially, she didn’t realize how Five had turned off every single light in the room, making it pitch black.
It would be ridiculous to assume he did this for Eight, knowing that she slept the best in complete darkness.
Because he didn’t.
As soon as he heard the door open, he flicked on the lamp beside him before Vanya could switch on the main light, giving her a scare.
Eight awoke abruptly when the light disrupted her slumber, the usual furrow resuming in its usual expression on her face.
She lifted her head enough to watch as Vanya took in the presence of two bloody teenagers, but dropped her head again before Five could start his annoying spiel. Tuning out his apocalypse sob story, Eight doubted if Vanya would even understand his pretentious explanation.
When Vanya pointed out the blood staining his forearm, she quickly got up to get a first aid kit to clean his leaking wound. Her footsteps grew quieter as she made her way out of the living room, leaving the impatient Five and a tired Eight lonesome for a few minutes.
Five reached over to her, grabbing her bleeding arm and forcing it out in front of her. This got Eight up, as she smacked his arm away with her other.
“What is your problem?” She hissed.
“Leave it out for her so she can stitch it up,” Five answered obviously.
She scoffed, of course she would’ve, but when it came time for it to be done. Vanya probably would’ve started stitching up Five first, anyway.
But now she’s wide awake. With Five having dug his thumb into the slice in your forearm the stinging grew too uncomfortable to lay back down on.
She sat up, crossing her legs and very carefully maneuvering her arms. She scanned around, taking in the visuals of Vanya's apartment, deciphering whatever the decor would tell her about the details of Vanya’s adult life that she wasn’t there to watch develop.
It seemed lonely, no signs of a significant other or roommate, but that wasn’t exactly news. There were stands for sheet music by the wall, the array of them giving her the idea that maybe she played with others, or taught lessons.
She looked back at Five, who was peeling back the cuff of his once white dress shirt. His cut was visibly jagged from your intentionally fucked up job at removing the tracker.
“You don’t have to look so amused, you know,” he said, without even looking up.
“It’s a choice,” she quirked, leaning her head back to look up at the dark ceiling, “How long are we going to stay here?”
“Long enough to get stitched up.”
“Are we gonna chat about the apocalypse too? Maybe reminisce over a cup of coffee?” she replied with a bored voice, but Five could tell she meant it to be sarcastic. She knew his behaviors well enough, he was easy to predict.
He finally looked up, and he wasn’t happy. For as long as Eight had known Five, he had always had the most psychotic stare, even before his time as an assassin.
“This isn’t a fucking joke, Eight,” he hissed, “We need all the help we can get.”
“No we don’t. We just have to find where the eye came from, whose it was, then kill them. Not that difficult.”
Five turned the eye over for the millionth time, eyeing the logo screen printed across the backside.
This was the lead that Five had been waiting to act on for decades, he must’ve thought this other countless times, she didn’t know why she needed to spell it out for him.
He sighed, wrapping the eye in a scrap piece of cloth and shoving it back in the pocket of his shorts, “Fine. We’ll leave right after we’re done here.”
Vanya returned with the supplies necessary to fix them up. Eight appreciated how she didn’t question their state, even though she knew her mind was searching for an explanation.
She sat down next to Eight, who held out her arm and folded up her sleeve, awaiting the painful pricks.
As an assassin, she was stealthy enough to avoid bullets, but the occasional graze required her to remember those old first aid lessons from dear old dad.
Five had already begun explaining the apocalypse to Vanya as she wiped the blood off your wound.
“The world ends in eight days, and I have no idea how to stop it.”
She looked up at him, timid and taken aback in his confession, “I’ll put on a pot of coffee.”
Fucking called it.
~~~
Eight picked at her fresh stitches as she laid on her back on the couch opposite Vanya. She had tuned out of their conversation once Five brought up the twinkie.
“What about you?”
She turned her head in response to Vanya’s question.
“What about me?”
“This apocalypse, is that where you went too?”
Eight sighed, looking back up at the ceiling, hands rested over her torso.
“That’s where I was supposed to go, but I never made it there.”
“But you never came back,” Vanya confirmed, “What happened to you?”
Nobody had ever seemed interested in Eight’s story, there wasn’t much to tell. Just darkness, loneliness, emptiness. Everyone would much rather hear about Five’s exciting adventures of scrounging for food and building intricate shelters.
She had always liked Vanya, maybe she could’ve shown it more as a child. Regrets of partaking in her sister’s exclusion haunted her for years, knowing she was partly the cause, even though she loved to blame Reginald for everything.
“I got stuck in the void,” she said quietly, “I couldn’t find a way out.”
“I’m sorry,” Vanya said, earnest as always.
Eight turned again at that. She’d usually be disgusted by sympathy, but in this case she displayed traces of an appreciative smile at her sister’s words.
Five broke the comfortable silence, holding up his cup of coffee before asking, “You got anything stronger?”
Eight rolled her eyes at him as the two of them made their way into the kitchen. Picking at her nails, she waited for them to return until she heard Five raise his voice slightly.
“Get up, we’re going,” he demanded as he made his way back over to her, causing her to sit up.
“Five, wait,” Vanya pleaded with him.
“I haven’t seen the two of you in a long time and I don’t want to lose you again.”
That was heartfelt, but unfortunately they didn't have too much time for that.
“You know what, it’s getting late. I have lessons early and I need to sleep and I’m sure you do, too.”
She moved over the couch to set up some blankets before bidding the two of them goodnight and heading down the hallway towards her room.
Eight still sat on the couch, Five standing in front of her as they both watched Vanya as she left their sight.
“We’re not staying, are we?” Eight asked, knowing the answer.
“We are not.”
~~~
Luckily, there wasn’t anybody walking the streets in the middle of the night.
If there were, they would’ve seen the bloody teenagers walking side by side down the city street, scanning their surroundings.
“How do we go about finding this eyeball place?” Eight asked.
“It’s called Meritech,” Five responded, “We’ll have to ask someone.”
“Perfect,” Eight scoffed as she kicked a pebble along the cracked sidewalk, “Where the hell are we going to find someone at this hour?”
She didn’t look up from the ground to see what Five was seeing, so he reached over, taking her jaw in his hand, and turned her line of sight towards a convenience store across the street with a bright neon sign stating it was open twenty four hours. He dropped his hand once she reached up and dug her nails into it, then he blinked them both across the street.
As they made their way inside, a bell rang above the door, announcing their presence. Fluorescent lights flickered over the eerily quiet store. Five made his way over to the counter while Eight stayed slightly behind, looking around. Maybe it was just nerves, or maybe it was the fact that they were out during the witching hour, but the whispers of the shadows seemed particularly louder as Eight looked around.
There was a small stand with tourist items, like keychains and magnets, but on the other side there were a few maps of the city. Sighing at the convenience, she took one before making her way over to the register.
Eight was just about to turn the corner when she overheard Five’s conversation with the unlucky man working the night shift. A voice that sounded scratchier than a typical smoker’s filled her ears as she listened in.
“Listen kid, I’m not telling you nothin’ unless you buy something,” she heard.
Five never carried a wallet on him.
“You’re lucky I don’t call the cops, too. What are you doin’ out at this hour anyway?”
“That’s none of your damn business,” Five was getting impatient.
“Look, I ain’t gonna put up with you kid. You can either buy somethin’ or get the hell out-”
Once she heard a slam on the countertop and the man gasping for air, she knew it was probably time to step in.
She turned the corner and Five looked over at her, holding the struggling man in a headlock, whose face was turning redder by the second. She held up the map, silently amused at how little patience he had before resorting to violence.
Without a word, he released the man with a shove, causing him to fall onto the floor behind the counter. He walked past Eight towards the door and she followed suit, but not before grabbing a pack of gum on her way out.
Once outside, he took the map out of her hands and spent a couple minutes locating Meritech as they walked further away from the convenience store.
Hopefully, finding this eyeball's owner would be as easy as they planned.
