Eurovision 2008 - Number 59 - Myria Pampori & Alexis Manison - "Turning to You"

Every so often, a broadcaster will select a song for a national final from an act or a song-writer who is outside of the conventional music industry in that country. Not quite complete unknowns, but someone who is not on the radar of any A&R teams or have suffered multiple rejections, but who still loves to sing.

This is one of those cases, and forgive me, but not having a track record makes finding Myria, Alexis and the song-writer Minas tricky. To the best of my knowledge Myria is a singer who played the clubs and bars of Cyprus rather than the arenas or stadiums. Alexis is a rapper who occasionally uses 'Ablaze' as a nickname and has one other credit - he wrote a song called 'Eat Da Pussy' for rapper Serena Deena as well as appearing as a featured rapper under his nickname on several lesser Spotify releases. Minas Pamporis, the song-writer, who may or may not be related to Myria, has a YouTube channel mostly featuring Myria singing.

Apart from one other song (which I'll get to), if you search for any of them, this song and this performance is pretty much the only thing you'll find. Turning to You starts off as a piano ballad, turns rock, then rockier, then rappier. Through all of this Myria sings with a relatively vulnerable if a little flat rock voice. She's got the power and the lungs, if not the perfect pitch control, to pull it off over the power chords.

This is not what Cyprus normally does. Listening to the song and looking at Myria, you'd say this was Finnish or Polish. Not Mediterranean in any way. It's dramatic and introspective and emotional in a way that Cypriot pop rarely is. They're not wearing white, but black. It's absolutely refreshing to see something like this. It's a good song too.

Maybe the novelty of this gave it the result it had. Turning to You managed to end up in fourth place overall, buoyed by a very strong televote, although the judges did their best to scupper its chances by putting it second-last. It didn't result in any continued success for any of them and they all went back to their day jobs.

Myria and Minas did have one more go at Eurovision. In 2015, Cyprus went for a big televised campaign to find their Eurovision acts which they called their Eurovision Song Project. The first stage where juries selected acts and songs from performances to go forward to the Eurochallenge contest. Myria and Minas entered a song which was in the sixth and last TV show. Once again, the judges didn't like them and did not pick them to go forward.

There aren't many clips of Myria singing out there, but here she is singing another of Minas's songs, Σε Λευκό (In White), still wearing black.

Idk why but Shen Yuan (SVSSS) and Ling Miaomiao (LGIEF) both have some similarities to me.

Not only are they both from the modern world but they are transmigrated into famous novels. Not only that but they are in the villain/villainous's body's.

Their love interests are both half demons from a human-demon love story that both parents ended up either dead or imprisoned. (Mu Sheng from his demon mother, and Luo Binghe from his human-cultivator mother. Tianlang-jun, LBH father get imprisoned under a mountain. While Mu Shengs mother is imprisoned in under(?) the Mu Manison). Not to mention the fact that both demonic parents are on an heavenly level/grade.

However there are many differences between the characters but they are also many similarities.

However in SVSSS SY stays in the world of PIDW while Ling Miaomiao returns to the real world.

Some ideas for helluva boss episodes and short that I have had for both a long time and a short time.

Episodes.

Guardian @$$hole!. The plot revolves around blitz by some mistake getting his very own guardian angel and more specifically a power of the second sphere an angel specifically designed to kill demons and dark spirits. After blasting through the same wall that is nearly always destroyed and explaining that he wasn't here to kill them the angel confesses that he doesn't understand why his higher ups want him to guard a demon but he's not the type to question orders. The angel in contrast to a lot of the cast has a very solem and sacred energy to him feeling much more like how you would imagine an angelic warrior as opposed to the comical cherubs and the hedonistic adam being very dutiful and tact but the problem is that he is a power so that means that he is very smite first ask questions never and that poses a problem because now blitz has to make sure for example the angel doesn’t smite loona over making a sarcastic comment towards him and this only become a bigger and funnier problem as blitz tries to go through life with this seemingly invicable and perfectly moral angelic warrior always a few feet away from him. Eventually blitz has had enough when the angel stops him and his crew from doing their job but another problem is the fact that they can't force the angel to leave stolas mentioned that even a full strength goetia would struggle to overcome a power so they can't make him leave and he won't leave on his own as he is committed to his orders so the team try and think up ideas to make the angel leave throwing around ideas but none of them can think of anything that would work but as the angel absently mindedly goes through blitzs desk after blitz told him to wait in the office he finds out about veroskias hate party and finds his next target.

The next day everyone is happy that the angel seemingly left on his own but when loona goes to her phone she finds on the news that the angel was going on a rampage and headed towards veroskias Manison smashing through the streets of hell like the doom slayer not ever responding to some of the attacks. The gang immediately race after the him but nothing they do even slows his advance smashing his way through the Manison determined to find and smite veroskia for her disrespect towards the imp he had been assigned to and just as his sword is about to chop veroskia in half he finaly got his proper orders and stops his attack he notes how blitz and his found family risked their lives for someone who had done nothing but cause trouble for them and with that he admits that he had underestimated helldorns potential for righteousness and after thanking them for helping him see beyond the world he was raised in he flies off back to heaven and the episode ends.

A few other ideas I had for episodes that are much less fleshed out are.

1. The team having to help a seemingly immortal human with (cw) assisted suicide.

2. Some alternative ideas for ways to teach stolas the errors of his ways pre mastermind such as having to deal with his angel counterpart shem malaphiatis (I definitely got that wrong) and his prefect "yaoi fanfic" esqu relationship with his lizard cherub boyfriend named bolt and trying to spitefully ruin their relationship out of envy but eventually apologizing for his behavior and learning his lesson.

3. A stolitz bodyswap episode inspired by a piece of fanart.

4. Various crossovers with franchises like doom, devil may cry, bayonetta, supernatural, ghostbusters, scp foundation, owl house, spawn, hellboy, trench crusade, Buffy the vampire slayer, bendy, my little pony, good omens, etc etc.

5. Ronaldo coming back for revenge in a role reversed verison of ghostfuckers where blitz supports millie this time.

6. A bunch of ideas about an episode where the boys are the smart and mature ones and the girls are the ones who need to be saved.

7. Octativa doing some detective work.

8. Stolitz is having their first healthy date at ozzies along side m&m as fizz and ozzies way of making it up to them after what happened last time but while couples are enjoying a nice double date the b team consisting of loona, fizz, octativa (who is here because while she still resents her father a little she isn't willing to let him die as proven in sinsmas) and vassago have to fend off an army of dhorks agents now fitted with proper weapons (they still have some edo period stuff on them of course but it's modified with sci fi gadgetry), Stella's personal legion of actual goetian legionaries but most of them couldn't stand her and quit so she hired a bunch of half rate Mercs to blostier her forces led by an exhausted striker and an army of mammons fizz bots led by the one from loo loo land! Bonus! Fizz gets to pull a megamind button of doom and defeat his past by blowing up an evil robot verison of himself.

9. Veroskia gets captured by the dhorks and the i.m.p team reluctantly save her with blitz and Vero finaly putting their past behind them once and for all.

10. Veroskia learning she had a half human (cambrion) son and having to deal with her own pre development loona. With gags like who I'm gonna call Daimen sarcasticly asking if blitz is his father.

11. Another one with veroskia has her fizz and blitz all work together to bring down glitz and glam.

12. One that involves the team getting stranded on earth of at least a week.

13.loona getting saved from hells animal control.

14. The team going up against a human magic user.

15. A trip to the real world non Canon episode where blitz argues then makes out with Brandon.

|In my Au I like to believe Slenderman is just an older guy who adopted a couple kids(a lot, actually) because he was lonely and his house is too big for just himself.Also!It takes place in the early 2000s|

- He doesn’t live in a manison,Just a really big farm house in the middle of nowhere in Kansas City

- they are all human including Slenderman

- His brothers suggested adopting the kids,he didn’t think they would bring so much chaos though

- He wasn’t to sure at first though because he knew these kids were coming from bad situations and homes.

- He adopted Ej first.He adopted him in the 90s from Arlington Texas when he was 16.

- he wasn’t too sure how to handle Ej.He seemed so cold and distant and had a weird wicked look on his face even though he didn’t have a reason too

- learned to love and take care of him though

- You know that saying where it’s like you can’t just have one?you have to get it a friend? That’s exactly what happened

- He adopted Masky next.The caseworker was unsure and practically begged him to not adopt him because of how violent he was

- Masky relaxed after being adopted,Kinda.

- the first year or so he was in out or Juvie but settled in perfectly fine with Ej and Slender.

- After a few years he’s collected kids like there pokemon but he loves them.

It would be cool if Reader owns the X-manison, but it's in the same woods that the Moth cryptids live in.

Maybe they had it built, maybe they bought it, or maybe they inherited it. However they got it, it's theirs and it's quiet and isolated.

So after getting reacquainted with the Moths, they mention they need to go back to their home-err, nest.

The Moths immediately are worried because there is no way that Reader has a good nest. No one taught them how and they're so small and fluffless compared to everyone else. So they try to keep Reader with them for as long as possible until Reader HAS to go back home for whatever reason, like medication.

So they follow Reader home, bugging them the whole way on if they're SURE they need to go back. Until they see the mansion.

Moths: Reader! We're impressed! We didn't think you would have such a big nest! Good job! There is plenty of room for everyone!

Reader: Wait, what-?

Now Reader has all these Cryptids in their house, shredding their couches, hoarding their lamps, and demanding their attention. Not so quiet anymore!

The adult moth cryptids are happily moving their nests and nesting materials into the largest room they can find, they're stuffing their treasure trove of nuts and berries and prey and nectar in the pantries, the blankets and pillows and extra drapes are being added to the nesting materials and walls to better insulate their new nest-!

The human-turned-moth cryptid teens are asking Reader questions a mile a minute, wondering how they got such a big nest, why are there lights everywhere, where is the group nest, do they have a favorite parent yet, can they try their human foods-?

And Reader is wondering how they're going to get everyone out... They like reconnecting with their old childhood friends, but this place was, well... abandoned. So it doesn't have as much warmth or dust-free areas as needed... Reader found this place and needed somewhere to stay, desperately, that they refuse to talk about the reason why... So here they are, in an old mansion in the woods, now with added moth cryptids who just tried to eat a curtain.

(The moment the mansion is thought to be unsafe or some bad scientists or people break in, the adult moth cryptids decide to move everyone back to their old nest, where it's warmer and safer and hidden, and where no one can find and hurt Reader or any of their kids ever again...)
