It wasn't unusual or surprising that Marlene had managed to find a fellow Hogwarts student within Hogsmeade. Most everyone seemed to be here these days; gathering supplies for the new year, or trying to make the most of those final, glorious days of sunshine.

It seemed about right that she should should run into someone within the Three Broomsticks. It was where the best people went, after all - though she could recall far too many unpleasant and odd moments in the pub as well as the good.

For the next few days, until term began, the Broomsticks was where Marlene was staying. Her parents were gone again. Flying off (perhaps literally) around the globe. It was fine. She was used to it in a way. Besides, her last year at Hogwarts had led to her finding that odd thing - a found family. Of sorts. ...There were perhaps a few that were more an annoyance, or that 'odd' one in the family.

Had Layla made the cut into the group yet? No, perhaps not. Not yet. But Marlene still could remember a few chats and study sessions with the Ravenclaw. She seemed bright. And able to speak to people. Marlene could appreciate that, greatly.

The currently blonde soon-to-be-sixth-year slid onto the stool next to her friend, soft smile on her face. And perhaps a little worry. Or curiosity. A mix of both. Something seemed not quite right. However did she always seem to find people in need of dire assistance? She ought to start charging for help - some sort of private detective perhaps. ...But that thought was shaken from her head and she focused on her fellow student. "Are you alright, Layla? I know this time of year sometimes brings on doom and gloom for some. But normally, well... isn't going back to Hogwarts a good thing?"

Marlene wasn't heartless - she could be said to be many things, a great deal not complimentary. But heartless? Never.

The young woman was injured, it was the least that Marlene could do to help her out. "Look, my place isn't far away. I have bandages and swabs and wipes - you name it, I have that medi-kit to hand." They all might be gone, but Marlene had looked after a few too many who tended to get themselves worn out and beaten up. She might have put them in her past, as best she could, but some habits didn't break easily.

And she told herself with a young child it was good to have things to hand. Just in case.

"I'm offering this because I can, and because I want to. It's no skin off my back, let me tell ya. I've seen worse and dealt with worse - and this might eat into my 'do nothing and watch tv' day I've been waiting on for a while, but I'll survive."

I actually really like this interaction, making whoever is fronting not just promise Steven's safety but his own. I know that in context its likely more like "Marlene doesn't get the Identities thing/Moon Knight is crazy" but I think I might implement an exchange like this between Steven and Layla in my fic

Anyone who depicts Jake as a careless murderer is my enemy /hj For my Fic (and my interp of the MCU version as a whole), I think Jake just wants to protect everyone: Steven and Marc, Layla, the innocent, anyone. Perhaps in the MCU he's to committed to this role to see himself as more than a function, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

if you were to bring in Diatrice or! bushman in the MCU moon knight, how would you do it and why?

What a request!

So... I don't see a way that Diatrice as we know her could make it into the MCU. Since they introduced Layla and not Marlene, they would either have to:

Leave Layla behind and introduce Marlene, which would make me very very sad. And it's already dubious enough that IF they do bring back Moon Knight in the MCU, would they be able to bring back Layla too?

Or Somehow make Diatrice from Marc and Layla. Which would change things up quite a bit. Honestly, I think complicating the current MCU Moon Knight time line with Diatrice would not go well and would make things very messy.

Now as for Bushman.... Marc has already eluded to him! When he tells Layla what happened to her father, he says that the man he was following killed everyone when the job went bad. We all know who he was talking about!

They could easily bring Bushman into the MCU at any point. I think Bushman in the comics has lost his power thanks to some amazingly BAD writing (BEMIS). If they do it right, putting him in the MCU could be amazing.

They could make Bushman scary again. They could make Marc use his combat skills. Put Steven up against someone smart and brutal. Let Jake unleash his protective side on a man that may be aware of Jake. I'm DOWN for this.

With the idea of Khonshu tabled for the time being (as far as Marc and Steven are aware), I could see Bushman coming back to track down Marc, who he thought had died. Wanting to know how Marc survived the desert so he can have that power.

It would work.
