Lance’s favorite swear word is “shit”, this boy says “holy shit” so much all you wouldnt be surprised to see a pile of shit with a halo over it. Keith is bitch, “son of a bitch” is like 60% of his vocabulary when hes fighting, Shiro is “damn” not too vulgar but harsh enough to get the feeling across, “dammit” when he drops something or stubs his toe. Hunk probably doesn’t swear too much but uses “hell” when hes feeling intense, a “hell yeah” when hes pumped or a “what the hell” when someone pulls a crazy stunt. Pidge and Matt are one in the same yet they just slightly vary, fuck is their go-to, but Pidge is a “fuck my life” when shes hunched over trying to decipher some alien code. Matt is a “jesus fucking christ” but specifically in a “jfc” reddit abbreviation way.

If so, pls link it so everyone can read it cuz I’m pretty sure it’s Lance confronting Keith after he almost sacrificed himself in that one episode with Matt and the rebels.

I like it so much when fic writers explore the literalist pov of vld:

They are children. Fighting a war. Killing people.

None of that tv y7 bs that most people impose (not that it doesn’t have it’s merits as comedy or GA works) because that’s the truth. They are, as human (mostly) children, experiencing the worst that the universe has to offer; most of the time without so much as a thanks.

When writers choose to see the piece that way, only then can we see the intense bonds between the team and why they have a reason to embody that “indomitable human spirit” in the first place.

Show me death of loved ones. Show me raw, ragged human empathy at its lowest. Show me the bottling exhibited by normal fucking teens. Show me strength, courage, people finding a reason to live in their situation when it would be endlessly easier to call it quits and let the universe fight its battles on its own.

Maybe I give this show too much credit?
