Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

God is testing our hypocrisy, revealing the truth behind what we say and how we live. As it says in Matthew 15:8, 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.' We may hide from others, but not from God. He sees our hearts, like it says in 1 Samuel 16:7, 'People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' We are called to live out our faith, not just speak it. James 1:22 reminds us to be 'doers of the word, not hearers only.' Through these trials, God refines us, testing our hearts like silver in the furnace (Proverbs 17:3).

Words Matter. Read These and See If You Don't Agree
Read every word of this quote, and see if it sounds sane, or crazy. “Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, but by me.'” (John 14:6, NIV) This short statement is amazingly full, and it’s worth challenging. It’s also worth considering. Depth Not Length First of all, consider the first two words: Jesus SAID. The spoken word is incredibly important in the

God looks on the heart is often used as a comforting verse and there is much truth to that but let us remember that if we harbor evil in our heart God will judge that.
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Matthew 5:28
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
1 John 3:15
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isaiah 14:13
But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7
I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah 17:10

"THE CHRISTMAS GUEST THAT WILL NEVER LEAVE!"
Matthew 1:23, “Listen! The virgin shall conceive a child! She shall give birth to a Son, and He shall be called “Emmanuel” (meaning “God Is With Us.”) (TLB) During the holidays you have to admit there’s quite a bit that can make you cry! Seeing family, exchanging gifts, watching kid’s faces light up, reading heart-felt cards and the like. However, there’s an even bigger Kleenex moment that…

Ordinary Callings, Extraordinary Missions
A Day in the Life of Jesus What kind of person does Jesus choose to carry His message? That question echoes in Matthew 10:1–15, where we encounter one of the earliest missionary movements in Scripture. Jesus, after calling the twelve by name, sends them out with power and purpose—but not as celebrities or scholars. He sends fishermen, tax collectors, political radicals, and everyday folks. The…

Church notes - 16th March 2025
16th Matthew 26:1 - 16 Annointing High Priests, Kings, Healing, Burial Jesus He has been annointed as High Priest, as King and for healing, and now for burial.
Annointing at Bethany vs 10 Jesus asking why the disciples are bothering Mary. Why did she choose to worship Jesus in this way? She had a lot to be thankful for (including Lazarus being brought back from the dead). Also, being led by the Spirit for this annointing to occur.
Jesus objecting
It is not about the monetary value, but what was in her heart.
The key is simply to love Jesus, but it is difficult to put Jesus first.
Psalm 23
vs 5 Jesus was sitting with someone who was his enemy and about to betray Him. And His annointing
1 John 2:20
Living it Out 2 Corinthians 2:14 - 16
vs 15 God is pleased with us when we witness to others about Christ.
Being in the community.
1 Corinthians 15:1-10

John 14:15 (NASB). “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
John 14:23 (ESV). [23] “Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”
1 John 5:3 (ESV). [3] “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.”
2 John 1:6 (NIV). [6] “And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.”
Luke 5:1-5 (NIV). [1] “One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. [2] He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. [3] He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. [4] When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” [5] Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
Matthew 4:19 (ESV). [19] And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
“Blessings of Obedience” by In Touch Ministries:
“Those who love the Lord want to please Him, so they choose to follow His leading.”
“In John 14:15, Jesus taught His disciples, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” He repeated the connection between love and obedience several times because of its great importance. (See John 14:23; 1 John 5:3; 2 John 1:6.)
Following God’s will amounts to telling Him, “I love You.” Having the correct view of obedience—namely, that it’s an expression of love toward our heavenly Father—enables us to endure any difficulties we face. God pours out His blessings on those who obey Him.
Consider the example of Peter (also known as Simon). Jesus asked for use of his boat to preach to the crowd. Having been up all night without catching any fish, Peter might have given the Lord an excuse—too tired, too discouraged, a lot of cleaning up to do. Instead, he took a step into a life of obedience and blessing. On the surface, lending his vessel to help Jesus didn’t seem important beyond the moment. But God had more in mind than a one-time loan of a boat. He was going to use Peter’s life and make him a fisher of men (Matthew 4:19).
God rewarded Peter with service in His kingdom. He wants to do the same for us. How is the Spirit prompting you, and what is your response?”

Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial?Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,
“I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people."
2 Corinthians 6:14-16
Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.

Coming with Authority
13 This will be the third time I am coming to you. “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.”
There you have it your 2 or 3 witnesses. Confirmed by this biblical law found also in Deuteronomy 19:15.
The Bible verse that says "mouth of two witnesses" is Deuteronomy 19:15 which states, "No one shall be put to death on the testimony of one witness, but at the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses a matter shall be established.".
COME TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, NOW IS YOUR TIME OF SALVATION.

I Have a Friend Living on an Anvil
The first time I heard the poem below was in 1989. It was the only time I heard it. But I have never forgotten the moment or the man who quoted it. When I went searching for it again, I found it quoted by Ray Ortlund on a Gospel Coalition post from May 10, 2019. But let me go back to that day in 1989. Thirty six years have passed since that day in a chapel at seminary. But the echo of that day,…
