Secret Hideaway

Sebastian had a long day roaming around the streets looking for trouble and ultimately decided to go back to the place he and Pyra had hidden away. It was like their own secret getaway, a place that only they knew about. They could stay here, knowing nobody would bother them. It was also a pretty good place to store the stolen goods they acquired. Pyra had nearly every inch of the place stacked to the brim with all of her things.

Sebastian finally made it home and didn’t bother to knock as he opened the door and shouted “Honey, I’m home!”

What should have been a crunch is more of an uncomfortable smush, and what should have been delicious and crisp is more of a awful, week old, frost bitten yuck. Icarus may have stolen the apple not forty seconds before his taste test, but he had half a mind to back track and demand to know what had possibly possessed the salesperson to think these were acceptable for general consumption. The pirate made a face and stepped away from the pushing people fighting their way ‘round the market and spat his bite out- how wretched. The rotten fruit is not abandoned there, though, no-- he needed it for evidence.  Once he’d fought his way back through the small crowd he found his captain, clearly much too perky while Icarus had a crisis on his hands. He tossed (threw, more like) the bitten apple into Max’s lap, disdain twisting his features as he laid out his case. “That’s it. I think we should be done. That’s the last straw, right there.  It’s too cold and boring here and--and we can’t possibly expect the crew to live off this garbage. Experiment over, let’s move along.��
