✍️ May Challenge: A Letter to My Creative Self
Every now and then, you’re asked to write something that forces you to stop hiding. This is one of those moments.
Dear Creative Me,
You called yourself a failure once.
You said you destroyed two career paths—one by arrogance, one by fear—and that if you ruined a third, you wouldn’t know what would happen. You were scared. You still are.
But the truth is, you never stopped trying.
Even after disappointment turned into silence, and silence into shame, you kept writing. You built worlds when the real one felt too tight. You reshaped familiar stories because maybe if you could make sense of them, then you could make sense of yourself.
You’ve lied to your parents. You’ve blamed yourself for things that were never fully in your control. You’ve looked in the mirror and hated the reflection more times than you can count.
But in spite of all of that—you never let your creativity die.
It’s the one thing that remained yours. It wasn’t a job. It wasn’t for school. It wasn’t for them. It was the one voice you didn’t silence. The one part of you that didn’t cave in under the weight of expectations or regret.
You said you wanted to become someone new by January 28th, 2028. Not because you hate who you are—but because you believe there’s still something more in you. Something better. Something real.
Let this be the proof that you’re on your way.
This letter isn’t a finish line. It’s a checkpoint. A hand on your shoulder saying: keep going. You’ve faced worse and survived. Now it’s time to build something from those scars. Make stories from what you thought were endings. Make meaning from the mess.
You’re not too late.
You’re just getting started.

Welp, this is the first piece for the OC-tober challenge! Ironic, isn’t it? TTuTT For whatever reason, I forgot that the month of April doesn’t have a 31st day. So now, every post for this challenge will be one day behind.
Anyway, this is AU Keiichi. He’s another favorite of mine. He’s 22, loud, mischievous, and a bit off his rocker.
While he may seem to be running late, it most definitely isn’t for school and he likely doesn’t even care that he’s late.

⠀ Motivation has been pretty hit and miss for me during this time. Especially when I found out it could be months before gyms in CA can open again. It has been quite a test of discipline but one thing I always find motivating are challenges. ⠀ Thanks to @mollyddunham I do have access to a barbell and heavy weights so I’ve decided to designate two days a week to work on my squat, deadlift, and bench press. Rethinking Goals
Been struggling heavily with conistency since the start of this year. Trying to get myself back into a rhythm and on track but keep getting detailed. I’ve come to the realization that I lack defined goals. I’ve reached a point where I am content to maintain but I’ve stagnated. With nothing to challenge or strive for it’s become boring for me and just sort of on cruise control. I think I need mini goals just like a did when I started out to keep me inspired and driven to keep at it. So I’m going to take a page from my own book when I started out and keep it simple. All I wanted to do when I started was do 100 push-ups in a single set. That goal alone inspired me to work at it nearly everyday adding a few more when able until I eventually reached that goal. During that process it fueled my desire to incorporate more and more body parts and eventually get into more weights and bigger longer harder workouts. At some point I kinda burned out and lost sight of the small little challenges that kept it fun and fresh.
The Plan: In May I’m returning to my Push-up roots. The goal is to do 200 each day of the month. However and whenever I can get them in 200 is the target. 100 in the morning 100 before bed, 8 sets of 25, 4 sets of 50, 20 sets of 10, 20 here 15 there 5 more later whatever...just 200 each day. I’m also throwing 100 total sit-ups crunches or core related work into the mix. I plan to do these in between push-up sets. As added incentive I’m going to try to take a photo each day so I can do a short time lapse from start to finish what 200 push-ups and 100 sit-ups can help do each day after a month and hopefully see a mini transformation. I’m kind of curious how much change there will be. I’ll likely be incorporating other weight training as well but I chose push-up and sit-ups as a constant because they can be done almost anywhere at anytime. So if I have to travel for work I got no excuses. If anyone wants to join me in the challenge to help keep each other accountable feel free to modify it to better fit your own goals. Maybe its only 20 push-ups and sit-ups everyday for you if you’re starting out. Make it challenging for you but also doable and engaging. May 1st is tomorrow....time to get my head back in the game!!

May Challenge
I’ve been reading/watching information on becoming a better you. Getting leaner, cleaner (with what goes in your body), and overall challenging yourself with tasks to make you a better person.
Recently one of the things I was reading about was to challenge yourself to 30 days of waking up at 5AM and not looking at social media until 10am. That’s a lot of hours of not picking up your phone. A real challenge for me to conquer. I’m going to start May 1st waking up at 5AM and hopefully it’ll help get myself into a normal sleep pattern. I’m also going to add to that the cold shower challenge. Wake up at 5AM and jump into a cold shower for 30 days. A cold shower, I’ve read, is a great way to jump start your day with energy and helps you burn calories. I’m assuming because your body reacts to the cold? I have no idea.
I’ll be sure to document my reactions to see how this overhaul takes shape on my attitude and well being. Apparently, your most creative side comes out in the early morning hours after waking. I’ll wake at 5, head to the gym for 6. Work out for an hour and them come back to a delicious smoothie.
