Do you have a recommended site for lagna and navamsa charts? I have done calculations from many sites and now I have two different results. How do I know which one is correct?

Hi anon, I recommend 2 websites: drikpanchang.com and deva.guru The results can change if the ayanamsha is not the same. All the ayanamshas are correct, it's just a matter of preference. As for me, I prefer to use the true Chitra paksha. Also, check the nodes' calculation, as they can change. You will have to choose between the mean or true nodes. Again, it is a matter of preference. I use the mean nodes actually. And of course, always choose the sidereal over the tropical. Here, it is a matter of tradition.

in general root appears to be gentle towards creatures & items. with a body they're not used to actual interaction with things, they fear a bit to break everything. however influenced by Heng there's a visible bias towards handling Yi. not to imply that he's weak - quite the opposite & exactly that's why most of the time there's even more unusual carefulness while handling him; on the other end he's also only being that has to be handled with less mercy by it, even if just to bring him back

for the second part, it is not mimicking any exact appearance. it's a general idea of a solarian - loose copy of those that existed & exist now. also it is slightly limited on how they can look like considering how the roots are.

& they are probably humming a melody from old times :)

Hey y'all, weird question time again! Is there anyway to word "I appreciate how unintimidating and unthreatening you are being" as a compliment that does not sound at all like an insult? One of my doctors is the absolute best at it, and I genuinely think it must be a skill he's deliberately cultivated, but I cannot figure out how to word it in a way that doesn't sound slightly insulting. A question about the Sebastian Revisited mod: does he get friendship/rivalry points in Act 1?

I'm playing without that particular mod, and between my character mostly making choices that he agrees with and him only joining in Act 2, he's the only one I couldn't get anywhere near triggering a Questioning Beliefs quest for. It's frustrating as all get-out. At least his 50% QB quest can trigger in Act 3. Probably to compensate for his late joining?

Sebastian is basically dead weight in act 1 because he has no approval boosts and no quest dialogue. It's not substantively different from recruiting him in act 2. I guess I could go through and monkey with the approval boosts in my full game dialogue overhaul mod I have in the works, but here's the thing: going through and analyzing what various companions approve/disapprove of is gonna make me soooooooooooo cranky. So I haven't lol.

The thing about Sebastian is that he's also straight up just dead weight in some act 2 quests lmfaooo. I don't know that I've ever successfully pushed him to 100% without cheating, but he's also not the only character whose approval I usually end up cheating in a playthrough, since I'd rather choose the dialogue I want to hear than try to game the system.

Everyone's 50% Questioning Beliefs can still be acquired in act 3 (if it isn't bugged) though. That's standard.

Some Batman: Telltale thoughts

[this is a Batman Telltale critical post, ye be warned.]

So. There are perhaps no words in the english language to describe with how stupid i feel right now.

I started Telltale Batman because i thought that it's one of the more distinct unconventional Batman narratives that would let you have a more interesting, complex and nuanced relationship between Bruce and Joker— the game even lets you bring all of Bruce's sincere hypocrisy and sentimental selfishness to the surface and have him admit that yes, he can fight the rogues gallery because it takes a madman to know a madman; to love a madman. For a moment i geniunely thought that i can escape the everpresent shadow of DC hays code in the freakshow funhouse that is Batman comics, i thought Telltale had done something different.

But telltale's approach to The Enemy Within is so flaky and flimsy and timid at best— such noncommittal twist on themes of pain and grief. They take on a hefty plotline, "what does it take to actually fight through evil and be surrounded by it? How long does it take before your resolve and your selfhood cracks? When you lose the mask, which one did you truly lose�� The ideal persona, the superhero, the crusader, or the person underneath, the casket that holds all your humanity and your heart and your hopes? How long can you stare onto the abyss before it stares onto you?" It's indeed a very Nietzsche approach to Batman— except that a good Nietzsche narrative takes a lot of intentional plot points and honesty of thought and of heart. And Telltale doesn't commit, not to Bruce's characterization, and not to any other character, and definitely not to Joker's journey in any variation of it. The existence of the Vigilante route is useless on every front; Joker is going to turn into a villain anyway, just with a different hello kitty eyeshadow palette and an extra bland consolation lollipop. No good choice Bruce makes on Joker's behalf affects anything whatsoever, and i particularly love the "community and friendship and sympathy do not help the mentally ill and all that ever works is punishment and shock therapy and confinement and loneliness" message the vigillante route puts on the table, charming charming status quo commandments from DC as always.

Telltale Batman could only be revolutionary if it had dared to break comic convention and let the vigillante route play out like Selina and Bruce's relationship always does; very grey morality, irrational, full of tension and trust, unstable, intriguing, inexcusable, irreversible, unavoidable and heartfelt, human. But we can't have nice things in batmanverse, so both Joker routes run on stuck gears and topple and fall into a predictable narrative hole that neither Bruce nor Joker can claim out of.

And on the predictable front? this story is too lukewarm to be a good time for me personally. When you get 84 Batman comics per minute every other Tuesday, all ending the same way no matter whatever the fickity happens inbetween, you have to pull no punches. This is my 53368532th Batman-with-tragic-batjokes-implications read of the week, say something new or forever hold your blue-balling silence, i dont care.

old girl got to go to the evet today! why do pets always choose public holidays to feel sick???

she was pretty lethargic and looking really down, plus she had a bad nights sleep and for madam mei that is enough to warrant an urgent trip to the vet

after examination, her inner ears are incredibly painful (and also had to examine because of hair and pain). so she got steroids and gabapentin and and will have a follow up at the regular vet this week to see if that helped. no ear meds because the vet couldn't see if her ear drums were burst or not, and if burst then the ear meds would be very toxic

she got half a cap of gabapentin for dinner and we've had the quietest evening since we got her lol
