A little preview of something I’ve been working on ❤️♌️
•
Guess I’ve been feeling nostalgic as I’m redrawing my Legacy of Winx OC’s AND reanimating my Sailor Senshi OC, Leo! I suppose I really meant it when I said I was going to learn OpenToonz since my CSP license is about to expire, I might even fully switch over!
•
Would y’all like to see a process/comparison video? The initial plan was to post a comparison gif like I did in 2019, but I love sharing my processes when it comes to art 🤔🤔🤔
⬇️Comparison gif under the cut anyway ⬇️

Hey everyone!!! I have some worldbuilding things that I wanna share!!!
Ok ok so, I’ve been writing out a bit of a loredump for my OC, Lilith, which has turned into a whole explanation of the worldstate and everything else. So for the sake of I guess better segmenting things and making more specified posts for certain things, I’ll make this a more general post discussing worldstate and systems in place. I really apologize for the delay in this post, work is a bitch and this post itself has ballooned into a whole exposition dump of the fundamentals of this world, so uh, yeah to the few people that wanna read all of this mess, uh, enjoy!! If people like it, maybe I’ll explain more in the future^^
Click for massive loredump:
To begin, I’ve used DnD, specifically parts of 5e and 3.5e as a baseline starting point for systems like magic, monsters, and game mechanics. This originally started out as making PC’s in a DnD world, but as I’ve spent more time crafting and building this world alongside my partner, we’ve developed something a lot more intricate and complex.
The myth of creation is a heavily understudied and unknown part of this world. People believe in a singularity bringing about the birth of reality, others believe a singular or a group of gods were responsible for shaping the world in their image, either way, the most commonly used term to describe the dawn of time is “The Spark”.
Within this primordial chaos, there is an intrinsic “magic” or a form of “the arcane” in the universe. This magic acts as fundamental building blocks of reality itself, interwoven through all aspects of nature and life, taking on many different names including The Source, The Current, Essence, Thauma, Lībą (this is supposed to be proto-germanic for life, linguistic majors please correct and educate me if i’m wrong), Vitae, Will, and so on and so forth.
In terms of understanding how this Essence works, try to imagine the Prime Realm as nodes and strings connecting said nodes together, weaving and bringing it all together to form what is “reality”. Nodes exist within living beings, allowing creatures to have magical abilities, and people to wield magic in various ways. Whether you commune with the world and nature becoming one with it, having a natural born affinity through lineage or generational use, through study and bending it to your will, or through patrons or divine sources, magic is technically accessible to any persons through different means. A respect must be shown and given to how you use this power, for a failure to do so can be cataclysmic. The abuse and manipulation of nodes, bending them against its will can lead to disastrous consequences that could permanently scar the world. One case in particular would be the civilization that would one day become modern day Gwist, the home of Lilith and a major city in this setting. Their abuse of a node that once was the center of their society resulted in a localized calamity, splitting and tearing the earth beneath them, entirely destroying and burying their city. In its wake, a horrifically radioactive and toxic resource was left behind in the deepest recesses of the crevice, flowing in pools and rivers of a magical liquid named “Spark”, which would revolutionize the world’s technology.
To circle back to how people have an innate ability to access magic, this kind of goes hand in hand with souls. Souls exist within living creatures, comprised entirely of magic, with nodes as the focal point. To destroy a node within a being is to destroy their soul, and to destroy their soul is to destroy them. The soul is you, and the soul holds such an impressive and invaluable power. Afterlives do exist, primarily they are tied to what you may believe in, what god you pledge yourself to, or what have you. Atheistic or undevout afterlives do exist too. Honestly it’s mostly a character specific thing, and depends on who believes in what. I just really didn’t like how depressing 5e/Forgotten Realms lore is for undevout souls are, so I like to sprinkle in a little bit of hope there, ya know?
Moving on from souls and magic, let’s talk about realms. There’s still the fundamental basics of planes of existence, including the hells, the abyss, feywild, elemental planes, astral plane, ethereal plane, far realm, etc. It works about how you’d expect in a typical universe, often being depicted as a “Great Wheel” or a “World Axis”, separating the Elemental Chaos and Astral Sea into lower and higher planes, containing their own realms of existence. Though many of these realms are very different to what you may be familiar with in traditional lore.
The Feywild, or in this world also known as Sylva, The Land of the Elves, the Enchanted Forest, and the Wildlands, is an interesting place in this world, taking a lot of inspiration from an almost story book fairy tale Brothers Grimm inspired version of the Black Forest in Germany, tapping into the idea of it being a very magical realm filled with tricksters, faeries, and other magical creatures and beings. Sylva was also the original home of the Sylvans, who formed great societies heavily steeped in blending nature and the Essence in their culture. At one point in early history of the Prime Realm, the alignment of realms would allow the Sylvans (and various other magical entities) to peer into and migrate from their ancestral home, making arrival in the new land and integrating with local cultures such as the ancient Vampires, the proto drawven societies, humans, and the various beast races.
Another realm also exists within creation is known as the Void. The Void in this reality sits opposite of Sylva, a realm of negativity and darkness. The Void is this world’s version of the Shadowfell, ever changing in it’s aesthetics, but all the same resembling a twisted facsimile of reality. The Void is the home to many lost souls and shades, beings trapped in perpetual midnight left to wander the ever expansive wastes. Various powerful entities have dwelled within the Void, cementing themselves and making their own homes or demi-planes within such as The Reckoner, an eldritch being with unknown and mysterious origins, who is bound to another one of my OC’s named Tara!
Now, I could keep talking about more details about extraplanar realms or the history of the Prime Realm itself, but this post has gone on wayyyy too long, and Prime Realm history is probably better saved for another post sooooo yeah. I’ll leave it there for now!!! To whoever may have read all of this, I really appreciate the time spent reading this, even though it’s very drawn out and longwinded, and I always welcome comments and questions regarding my world :33
Love y’all!!!

I wonder what the thought process was behind introducing Mel into the Jayce-Viktor subplot specifically. The game lore has them as a bread-and-butter flip of the superhero/supervillain dynamic where the supervillain is noble and the superhero is a jerk. Also hewing to the superhero/supervillain tropes, they’re close friends before they have an explosive blowup that turns them into devoted rivals. Classic, well-trodden, tropey set of mutually obsessed characters who read like X and Magneto (films) or Spider-Man and Green Goblin (Raimi films) or Wolverine and Sabretooth or Obi-Wan and Anakin or any one of approximately five billion matched sets.
While the superhero/supervillain sets have one more prominent character (the hero), Jayce and Viktor are designed to be equal parts of it in a trite well-neither-one-is-actually-good storyline. They’re specifically created to be equal and opposite. Mel is inserted right into the subplot of both of that duo. More on that later.
Now, Jinx and Vi are also a matched set of stories. From game lore, Vi is tied to Caitlyn’s lore. Arguably Sevika, Isha, Vander, Silco are inserted between them in much the same way. From just the basic source material, Viktor technically has Blitzcrank as his other major lore connection. Plus it’s League. Treating the source material with reverence…probs not a good idea for writing a narrative. Arcane has to sand down the really rough-sketched archetypes into something resembling a proper story.
The web of connections between the Zaun and Piltover characters does get fleshed out. Jayce gets connected to Caitlyn as her mentor-figure and (much more loosely) Vi as a bash bro. Viktor gets Sky as an OC story partner. Mel should be just another node in the spreading network that Arcane builds between the existing lore points.
What stands out is that she doesn’t have clear ties to the existing lore Jayce lab—as a new MC/Champion, it does make some sense to have her be her own central node rather than an accessory. She spends most of her time with new characters or with Jayce. In s1, mostly Jayce, in s2, mostly herself. Her alliance with Caitlyn starts up pretty abruptly at the 11th hour. Mel feels disconnected from the cast in a way that can highlight her as a sort of third party third way political leader, but also one that puts a lot of pressure on her relationship with Jayce to express and carry her character
The cracks become clearer when you refer to her mom. Ambessa’s in the same spot as a new champion, her only proper connection is to her OC daughter, and she integrates much more seamlessly into the show for better or for worse. Mel’s relationships with her spy, her assistant, Heimerdinger even Viktor show off Mel’s professional side, which tells us precious little about her under that surface. Jayce and Ambessa are the ones around which she reveals a little more. Ambessa, on the other hand, lives out loud and has a pretty emotionally intense connection with daughter (domineering mom), her henchman (possibly more…?), and Caitlyn (substitute evil daughter). Singed and Viktor are also in her posse, but we won’t count them as their dynamics with her aren’t illuminating.
Mel is a pivotal character in Arcane, more plot-critical than the nominal main (Vi) with far more screentime than the fan favourite (Ekko), and one of the few mains who doesn’t do a stint as a villain (alongside Vi and Jayce). Her role in the plot is to push Jayce’s research to the point where his magic becomes practicable (s1), then to take responsibility for her mother’s misdeeds (s2). She and Jayce arguably form the Big Good alliance to Ambessa and Viktor’s Big Bad; while not the emotional core of the show, those four get the last word in on the plot while the Vi-Jinx subplot gets foundered upon the rocks of ‘i forgor.’ (The character stuff for Vi and Jinx remains strong; they just cease to have any impact on the things that happen in the story). Mel is also The Mage; more than the hextech, she embodies the discovery that the show is supposed to be about.
So: Mel is the one true mage character in a series called Arcane and the one main character that Arcane needed to set up within its own runtime. The only connection she is given to the remaining world is via a relationship with Jayce, a character locked in binary orbit around one (1) single other character in the source material. It does make sense to have Mel introduced meddling in magic, pushing forward the research that will ultimately clue her into her own powers.
It does feel awkward to have her interactions be with a character who textually canonically is always thinking about something else. Mel is the one who gives Jayce the ideas that escape him—the mettle to reach beyond his caution, the sway and savvy to enter politics—because they’re living in two completely different worlds. The substance of their connection isn’t bonding over any shared interest in the process of discovery (Mel clearly holds her own as an arcanist as we see from her diagrams in the mind prison, but it’s not on screen) or in games of words/meanings/people (THE key character trait for Jayce is him being the most tone deaf man in the world). They are interested in magic, but the substance of their interactions is them each saying things at each other without communicating. The most intense moments in their relationship are mediated, triggered, or broken by Viktor of all people [trombone noises]. Who Mel doesn’t know from Adam.
In other words, Mel doesn’t have many characters to bounce off of to show different parts of her personality. The intent was to have her come off as cold in public with a soft side for Jayce, but we see so much of her soft side that she comes off as a straightforward nice rich girl coming out of her shell. To my memory, she doesn’t spend any time having much proper dialogue with Caitlyn (the nice rich girl gone cold to her cold rich girl gone nice), Viktor (literally always there), or even Silco (a fellow icy diplomat with a soft spot). While Jayce is around, she’s his girlfriend, which doesn’t work because Jayce is permanently, unilaterally, and plot-endingly tied to a different character to the exclusion of all else, carried from og lore into the tv show.
When Jayce isn’t around, her interactions with her spy do something to give her back her personality of a ruthlessly efficient operator. However, she gets locked in Character Development prison for half of s2 and fights her way out by…force of personality. Her magic use isn’t tied to the empathy that’s supposedly the source, and we don’t see her analyze it or take it to bits as fellow scientist Viktor does. As someone else pointed out, she loses the cunning part of her that makes her Mel and becomes just a white mage for the entire last quarter until she pulls her Black Rose double cross. Which is cool.
All that is to say in a very disjointed way: Mel has a lot riding on her, but it doesn’t come together. Jayce takes up a lot of her screentime for a relationship ultimately written to end, and not just to end, but to be preceded consumed and eclipsed by Jayce’s existing lore. She’s isolated by a cast of OCs without making the logical connections to the other main characters, and she doesn’t even have a distinct relationship written for a man she’s spent years with in the trenches (Viktor). She lacks a showy personality in a series full of characters designed to be as over-the-top hammy as possible, she lacks stakes in the pre-existing characters’ fight, and her ultimate power-up does not tap into her most distinct traits (thinking outside the box). She does get one crowning moment, but I was waiting a very long time for her to get out of them chains.

Echoes of Home: 83 - Steve ("lightning")
Echoes of Home: FFXIV AU OC – WoLs on Earth
Amazon has me spoiled.  The engine didn't come yesterday.  It didn't come today.  Checking on the order showed it isn't coming tomorrow.  More like two weeks from now.
So I hauled the desk I'd prepared back into the workshop and thought about what else I could do.
Need aluminum for the frame.  That's metal shops to make the parts for me, or scrapyards for buying aluminum odds and ends to smelt, or a lengthy trip for bauxite in Arkansas.  If there even are bauxite nodes.
Tsu'na has been having some luck with mylar, though she got distracted with plexiglass.  I should talk with her about making a greenhouse with it, especially since the weather's getting cooler.  We haven't done anything with gardening yet.  Need to add harvestable topsoil to The List to help with hybridizing.
The List does seem to mushroom, doesn't it?
Starting to feel the pinch of time.  Even if we weren't working at the diner and the Pit and the library, even if we didn't sometimes spend entire days gathering, we're still at the point where there's more projects than hours in a day.  And as nice a job on the workshop that we did (if I do say so myself), it's also nice to see what's outside of it.
It's not like we can have assistants to work on some of this stuff with us.  That would involve training someone in Eorzean crafting, which means Eorzean skills, which means enabling someone to be as dangerous as, well, we are.  At best, if we can contain some of the aspects of what we do, we can get people to help us with "Earth-accessible" aspects.
Like aether shards.  We've got these crystallizations of the essence of stuff; we can use them for more than just crafting.  We've tried on occasion…Tsu'na managed to light a campfire with a fire shard by piling wood on it and channeling the aether out of it to activate it.  It worked.  It singed her clothes and scorched her hand and left threatening sparks on her hair, but it did in fact light the fire.
We've had similar results with other shards.  A water shard drenched us and left a mud puddle.  A cold shard left my hand stuck to a rock for a minute.  A wind shard nearly knocked us on our asses.
So, yeah, the shards are resources that we should be able to draw on.  It probably involves building some sort of container to restrict the output (without Cid and his engineering company) and a more controlled and focused way of channeling the aether (without Urianger and his theories, or Y'Shtola and her aetherflow vision).  No one taught us this crap in Eorzea; it was all "try this and see" or "talk to X and he/she will provide you with something."  And it isn't supposed to work in this world anyway.  I think.
So yesterday I got the bright idea of channeling a lightning shard.  Lightning is electricity, right?  So we should be able to use a lightning shard as a power source or a battery or a fuel cell or something.  But given our results with other shards I figured I should think about it before releasing/manifesting/actualizing lightning.
My understanding of electricity is that it's all about flow.  Everything on Earth that uses electricity relies on it flowing, like a water wheel relies on flowing water.  If it doesn't come in, there's no flow.  If there's nowhere for the water to go, there's no flow.  So it isn't enough to just have electricity…you have to give it a path to travel.  You can't just throw lightning at a TV and expect it to work.  You can expect it to melt, but not work.
That's why electric plugs have two wires: one for electricity coming in, and one for it going out.  Essentially an entire house works that way, with electricity coming in from the power company and back out.  I think a subdivision is a big parallel circuit, with all the houses essentially connected to two big wires.
But everything that talks about electricity also talks about "ground".  An electrical ground is supposed to be something electricity can go into and not come out of again…a "sink".  I'd always thought it was a jargon term, but no, it actually refers to the Earth, as in sticking a wire in the ground.  Still not clear on exactly what it is about the ground that absorbs electricity, whether it's just got so much electrochemical potential, or it's the planet's electrical field (I think Tesla talked about that), or even something about the water table.  But it works.  You can stick a wire carrying electricity into the ground and that electricity will discharge.
There is in fact such a thing as "single wire earth return", where you're sending electricity to some place in the middle of nowhere.  You don't have a subdivision to make up the circuit, so you just have a single wire carrying electricity into the place and a wire coming out of the place and going straight into the ground.  Assuming the ground at the place is sufficiently…electrically permeable?...the place has current flow.
So I made a recipe for copper wire (what we called "bell wire" when I was growing up, single strand, maybe a couple millimeters thick, great for kids' science stuff), wrapped it around a lightning shard and stuck the free end into the ground.  Then I channelled aether from the shard to release/manifest/etc. it.
There was a bright flash, a pop, and then an arc of lightning between where the shard had started out and what, when it was done, looked like a fulgurite in the dirt.  No sign of the wire.  It was as if the lightning had simply atomized the wire, but still used it as a good suggestion of which way to go.  I tried with another shard and a slightly thicker wire and got the same result.
Tsu'na came out of the workshop to see what was making the noise after I'd vaporized four successively bigger wires.  I explained what I was doing, and she watched as I tried one more wire.  This one didn't exactly vaporize…it turned bright red before exploding.
We thought it was funny.  That is, when the searing pain stopped and the holes in our faces filled in and the little pieces of metal fell out and the skin grew back, we chuckled a little.  But before I tried any more wire I threw together a steel barbut with faceplate and a steel cuirass.  Because that's what armor is for.
Tsu'na settled on the bench to be entertained outside of splatter distance.  I think she was in fact entertained when, on my next attempt, the lightning decided the cuirass' woven-wire sleeve would be a much better path to follow than the wire wrapped around the shard.  Since it was just a shard and not something bigger it was like a low-level Thaumaturge Thunder hit.  Still an eye-opener, though.  I switched to a leather jacket.
I suspect the problem was that I was discharging the shard all at once, like a blasting cap.  A battery releases charge slowly over time; if you could get a battery to release all its charge at once it probably wouldn't do the wire any favors either.  But this was proof-of-concept work, getting to the point where I could maybe measure how much charge a shard had and figure out how to contain it.
A few more shards later I had a wire (for certain values of "wire"...it was more like a thin rod at that point) that wouldn't explode or melt from the shard discharge.  It still got warm, maybe enough to cook on if it had been a sustained discharge rather than a burst.  I decided that was good enough for proof-of-concept and called it a day.
I also don't know if a given spot can get "saturated" from too much electricity being pumped into it.  And an Earth ground wouldn't be practical for a battery or fuel cell anyway; I'll need a more portable and self-contained version of a "ground".
When I started my bouncer shift at the Pit, I saw Trevor come in and realized I maybe had an assistant.  I greeted him, asked Sam to put a beer for him on my tab, chatted a bit about the shed, and made a pitch. "So, I'm working on developing a fuel cell…"
"Fuel cell?"
"Yeah, like a battery except you refill it instead of recharging it."
"Oh, okay.  What's it made of?"
"Trade secret."
Sam gave me a look.  He probably expected me to say "classified."  Fooled him.
I continued, "Working with electrochemical stuff is kind of new for me.  I was wondering if you could help me out a bit, take some measurements of power levels, maybe recommend ways to control charge, that sort of thing."
"This a job?  You're not gonna try paying me in copper again, are you?  That stuff was heavy."
"Well, since we're talking heavy…". I pulled out the barbut and set it on the bar.
Trevor stared at it.  He stared at me.
"Like I said, we work with metal."
"Wait…you made this?"
"Yeah, we do armor, weapons, jewelry, all the renfesty stuff.  So can I interest you in some armor?  Comes with a cuirass."
"Queer-ass?"
"Breastplate.  Chest piece.  Shirt.  You might be the only fullmetal electrician in Oklahoma."
Trevor looked back at the helmet and tapped it with a fingernail.  "Well…I mean, yeah…that'd be cool…I guess…not like I could wear it or anything…"
"You can't?"
"Seriously?  Wearing a metal suit while working with electrical stuff?  That'd be stupid!"
"Oh.  Right.  Sure."  Tsu'na wasn't at the bar then, but I could still somehow see her smirk.
So now I've got Trevor willing to work for armor.  As soon as I figure out how to contain the lightning so he has something to work on.  If things get too complex I may need to make him greaves too.  He might not be able to move by the time we're done.

HI! Can you ramble to me about your HSR oc?
"is this about swallowtail," he asks, already bringing out the lore doc and 87 pages of headcannons he's created for his HSRsona.
OKAY first off, of course, his name is Swallowtail. He's my HSR sona, and he has an rp blog where most of his lore is ( @bluetailed-butterfly )
First and foremost, he's a racer, his celebrity status and everything else follows that. He's known for his stunts, which earned him some acting roles (mainly ones in action movies), but he can race without the stunts too. Of course, since he's a celebrity, he knows a lot of people and has a lot of connections, though few of those acquaintances are close to him. His side career? He's a Stellaron Hunter. I'll explain his objective later, but he's their newest member.
He has a brother (alive) whose name is Raven, and a sister (deceased) whose name was Luna/Lunamoth. He's very protective over his brother because he's the only biological family he has left.
Now for his backstory !!
For the first five years of his life, he was fine. Living in the capital city of a now dead planet with his parents and siblings. His parents were assassins, who got arrested while they were out on a mission, and after that, he and his siblings were taken away and "adopted" by a member of the Genius Society.
Now, their planet needed a sustainable energy source, and that Society member came up with Project Hummingbird, the idea of using Stellarons to fuel the planet by implanting nodes of Stellaron energy into the bodies of 18 vessels, or human children. Swallowtail and his siblings were of course part of this project as the vessels, or hummingbirds. His sister was "taken" for energy at one point during the duration of the project, which was how she got unalived. He became way more protective of his brother than he was before.
At one point, the resources of their planet were exhausted because of the IPC's interference, and... kaboom. No planet. The hummingbirds, who were on a separate satellite facility unaffected by the planet explosion, were quickly shipped out to other worlds to erase any evidence of their species existing.
Swallowtail and his brother were homeless for the first two years they were on their new world, before getting bounced around in foster homes and all, abusive parents bla bla bla, before he and his brother got into university and escaped them. Swal was supposed to be a psychologist, but he didn't pursue that career because while he was in university, he became really good at street racing, and it inevitably led to his current career.
He joined the Stellaron Hunters so he could get Stellarons for him and his brother because their life forces are linked to the Stellarons. He's gotten one into Raven without Raven noticing (in his sleep) and he's looking for one for himself. Nobody knows he's a Stellaron Hunter aside from himself and the SH gang.
Small details
He's trans (FTM), and he got on hormones when he was 18/when he got into uni.
His species has memokeeper-ish abilities, but uncontrollable, the memory seeing happens only with people they're close to, and it needs skin to skin contact. (I haven't revealed their origins yet, but they're "Fuli's First Children")
there's A LOOOOTTTT MORE LORE, but this is like the important-ish parts. :3 he is me i am him.

Pressure OC Master Post!!
Hi gang, I just wanted to make a master post of all my pressure OCs, because. I can :3
Z-427: Night Light
Aka: Raven Valentina
Tumblr media
Subject Z-427 is a younger experiment, made solely just to test the lengths of the DNA Urbanshade had to work with. Her handler, [REDACTED] Schneider, wanted to see if it was possible to use the regenerative abilities of Axolotl DNA, and the Camouflage abilities of certain cephalopods, to effectively create shapeshifting.
In a way, Schneider, and his assistants, Eric and Michelle Valentina, were correct: Z-427 could shapeshift, but not as much as they would have hoped.
Due to circumstances pre-experimentation, Raven is very afraid of the dark. When Z-427 finds itself in the dark, she will grow very hostile.
Hostile Light gives off little light of her own, and will attack anyone who comes near her.
Experimentation left Raven with several memory issues, to the point that she barely even remembered her own name, just her number.
Game Mechanics:
-Night Light is a passive mob you have the ability of encountering. She will always have a light on her. If you take it, you run the risk of encountering Hostile Light, who will deal 50 damage to you and cause you to drop any light source you have, save for the blacklight, hand cranked flashlight, and gummylight.
-Night Light also has the chance to spawn in Sebastian's shop, and if you take her light there, he will punch you. L loser
Here's Hostile Light:
Tumblr media
-------------
Z-426: Blow Dart
Aka: Harley S. Keener.
Tumblr media
Z-426 really had no specific reason to be made. [REDACTED] Schneider just needed him out of the way. The coverup story used by Urbanshade however, was that he was a test to see if venomous sea creature DNA could be transferred to a human. The answer was evidently yes, as the lionfish parts of Z-426 do secrete a venom, and are dangerous to touch.
Pre-experimentation, Harley was the only friend Raven had. After a fight with his father, Harley had gotten into trouble, then swept up by Urbanshade for various reasons. There is where Raven---who had grown up around the Urbanshade facilities---met her first friend.
Post experimentation, they tried to stay close, and Harley tried to protect Raven the best he could. But a badly timed Hostile Light appearance paired with an inescapable Angler left Harley dead and Raven none the wiser.
Now a ghost, forever tethered to the Blacksite, Harley keeps an eye over Raven still, with her not quite knowing---or remembering that he is dead.
Game Mechanics:
After surviving encounter with Hostile Light, you have the chance of encountering this vengeful spirit. Though he never attacks you, Z-426 will haunt you, sitting in the corner of your vision for about 10-20 rooms, causing false angler light flickers, sound cues, and other distractions. It's hard to survive, but encountering him is very rare.
------------
Z-428: The Eclipse Eel
Aka: Cassidy Evans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(note for Eclipse Eel's design: the eyes all along her body are white with black pupils. Disregard the feet, I forgot to erase them 💀)
Cassidy Evans was [REDACTED] Schneider's ward, willing to do whatever he wanted her to do. Even if that meant getting turned into what she is now. The only reason Schneider ever showed an interest in the girl was due to her strange capabilities with shadows; something Urbanshade would definitely want to keep under wraps.
Pre-experimentation, Cassidy would constantly bug Raven, trapping her in dark rooms, locking her in confined spaces, all together just tormenting her for the fun of it.
Post-experimentation, Z-428 is no different, causing darkness wherever she goes, and targeting rooms Raven hides in specifically.
Game Mechanics:
-Similar to the node monsters, Z-428 will come into a room with lightning speed, shutting off all the lights for the room you're in, and two rooms ahead of it. Hide, or she will find you. If you get into a locker quick enough, she will ignore you, but if she sees you get in, she will put you through a similar mini game as Pandemonium.
-Side rooms and other hiding spots are recommended, but not necessary.
------------
Those are all my pressure OCs so far!!! Feel free to ask questions!
Also yeah Raven gets adopted by Sebastian, what are you gonna do about it /j /lh

Pop quiz: list a dozen OCs that Mimble would like to hang out with or get to know better, and why!
(PS: you're great)
Amon of @spotofmummery. Mimble could bring some Allagan bits and pieces for Amon to examine, but ideally he is hoping to find him a restorable Node to fix up and nurture back to full functionality. In exchange Mimble would like to learn more about the late Allagan Empire, both out of historical interest and because he suspects that Amon's knowledge of voidsent might be useful for his future endeavours. Also they could compare hats.
Tumblr media
Inxli of @pinxli. Whilst I suspect there would be a certain amount of (mostly) good-natured bickering, Mimble would recognise Inxli as a potential ally in a number of areas, including his research into the War of the Magi and dealing with Voidsent. Mimble would offer to share his experiences with the Void and his fight with Bitoso, the architect of the Tonberry Curse.
They would probably make a good team in combat, especially with Reckless providing covering fire/backing music. Mimble's healing would allow Inxli to be even more reckless, so to speak.
Mimble would bring him a white chocolate cake with pink icing as a gift, along with sweets for his children (dried fishballs in Eenix's case).
Tumblr media
Faiolan of @mirageofthecrystal. Whilst Faiolan is a very very serious military man, and consequently might find Mimble slightly too frivolous, they do have a surprising amount in common. They would probably reminisce about the ending of the Dragonsong War and the War for Ala Mhigan Liberation.
Hopefully Faiolan would connect with Mimble's shared experiences in those conflicts and recognise and respect his proven track record in warfare. He might also be interested in hearing about the final fight with Zenos.
Mimble would try to make Faiolan laugh, or at least smirk despite himself. He would bring him some of the most expensive, fragrant, pipeweed that he could find in the Silver Bazaar of Ul'dah, along with some of the cheapest, strongest, grog that he could source from the Rogue's Guild of Limsa Lominsa.
Tumblr media
Fennie of @scholarlostintime. Mimble is very interested in Fennie's experiences of travelling through timelines, as that isn't something he's managed himself. What he would do with this ability, if he ever learned more about it, isn't completely clear, but he'd almost certainly be very responsible about it. Probably.
He is also keen to learn more about Fennie's research into The Echo, although they probably ought to keep off the subject of Hydaelyn, due to their differing levels of deference towards her.
As a someone related, however complicatedly, to Alphinaud, Mimble would also feel an amount of uncle-like pride in Fennie's achievements. He would enjoy spoiling Fennie's children with presents and making them laugh with silly jokes. He would bring Fennie some enchanted inks and some expensive Hingan paper for writing his notes upon.
Tumblr media
Destiney of @cadrenebula. Mimble started his journey as an adventurer in the forests of The Black Shroud and would be pleased to know that, despite being on maternity leave, Destiney continues to help and heal the citizens of the forest. They also have a shared love of sweets and tea and would probably enjoy both, whilst talking about the challenges of healing companions who will not move out of damaging area effects.
Mimble would bring a bone for Tucker and either some clothes or baby toys for her little one, as well as a large bag of sweets for Destiney and him to share.
Tumblr media
Naru of @blucifermain. Mimble would find Naru a very intriguing person to get to know and would be interested in, tactfully, learning more about her experiences with primordial light and its combat applications...for research purposes only of course.
They would discuss their various adventures and Mimble would provide a sympathetic ear for Naru's accounts of love and loss with Elidibus, even though his experiences of the former heart of Zodiark are somewhat different to hers.
He would bring her a gift of something black and expensive, that he crafted himself. Perhaps a jet black flower decoration for her hair or a pair of practical, but luxurious, long black leather gloves.
Tumblr media
Satien of @nyarumi-nyan. Mimble would be keen to help the over-serious young miqo'te to relax, so would probably make him lots of tea and give him some good-natured advice on taking time out to rest and recuperate (resting and relaxing are areas in which Mimble is particularly skilled).
He would discuss the challenges of keeping a disparate group of individuals together and the never ending tasks of mediation, guidance and generally providing the social glue which holds different personalities together as neatly as possible. Unity and friendship between different people is something Mimble feels strongly about and he and Satien could probably share their experiences of this tricky area.
Mimble would bring some of his most relaxing tea, chamomile or valerian perhaps, and a tin of lavender biscuits.
Tumblr media
Aki of @healersadjust. Mimble would be careful that his sense of humour did not inadvertently offend the fiery young miqo'te, so would endeavour to keep his jokes to safe subjects (such as Estinien).
He would talk to Aki about books and reading and ask her about her favourites. He would gently encourage her to try writing a poem or a letter for someone she cares about, but without necessarily making her feel that it was his idea. They would chat over tea about a range of topics, never going deeper than Aki was comfortable with, since Mimble would wish to make her feel at ease in his company.
He would bring her a book of fantastical Hingan legends, purchased in the night market of Kugane and bound in sumptuous Yanxian tigerskin leather.
Tumblr media
Yume of @firelightmuse. Mimble would consider Yume to be exceptionally cultivated and knowledgeable, and would ply her with tea and delicate matcha biscuits, in order to learn more about Hingan history and culture beyond the walls of Kugane (diplomatically of course, he wouldn't want to bring up traumatic memories).
They would discuss poetry and literature and Mimble would ask very nicely if he could read some of Yume's poems, but would accept it if she wished to keep these private. He would try to make her giggle by making up silly poems about Graha and the other Scions.
He would bring Yume a bunch of Nymeia lilies and something for baby Hikari, perhaps something warm in soft wool, to help keep her cosy in chilly Sharlayan.
Tumblr media
Kwas of @kskellington / @peddlestox-shinyrocks. Mimble would be very conscious of the need not to alarm Kwas and would carefully consider how to go about making friends without her becoming scared.
He would purchase something she had crafted, perhaps a music box, not the most expensive one, wishing to keep things low-key, but he would pay the price she was asking. He would avoid making too many conversational demands upon Kwas, but would ask about her crafting and talk a little about his crafted items, perhaps asking her advice in general terms about materials and techniques.
He would bring her a peach tart which he had made himself, on the pretext of asking her to try it and give her opinion of his cooking. He would leave her to finish it later (if she liked it), but would be careful not to call it a present.
Tumblr media
Saeta of @saeta. Mimble would enjoy gossiping with Saeta over tea and slices of rich cheesecake, naturally with a sweet dark purple sauce made from forest fruits to go with it. They would talk about herbalism and botany and, albeit slightly in code, they would discuss white magic and the history of the Shroud.
Mimble would enjoy reconnecting with the day to day life of Gridania and learning the latest rumours. In return he would give Saeta advice on herbal remedies and mixing the techniques of conjury and herbalism to achieve better results.
He would bring Saeta some bubble chocolate and a silk scarf purchased in the Doman Enclave, decorated with vividly lifelike peacocks in shimmering greens and purples.
Tumblr media
Francel of @aroseyetbloomedwrites. Mimble is a great admirer of Francel and they worked closely together on the restoration of Ishgard and the design and building of the Empyrean.
Mimble would encourage Francel to take a day off. He would attempt to persuade the young noble to allow himself to be whisked off to The Bismarck in Limsa Lominsa for a sumptuous lunch, followed by some people watching in Costa Del Sol, with some iced cocktails and exotic fruits. They would talk about anything and everything, as long as it wasn't related to Francel's "job" and Mimble would make him laugh with naughty jokes and unflattering impressions of Count Charlemend de Durendaire.
Mimble would give Francel the gift of a Crystarium Wall Chronometer, as a tribute to his efforts to build a better city and as evidence that his is a challenge that others have shared and overcome.
Tumblr media
It's a shame I'm limited to only a dozen, as Mimble is very gregarious and would like to spend time with a number of other characters as well. Particularly @loldragoon-ffxiv (although I semi-cheated and mentally counted seeing Fennie as including seeing Feldspar), @furys-mercy, @eljaofthecrookedgrin, @aurelia-polyps, @the-littlest-kojin, @bough-waker, @captainkurosolaire, @avettabendrot, @kittieology, @loloug, @phoebe-of-ivalice, @talion-graves, @umbralaether, @professorbunbun, @valeria-cress, @yloiseconeillants, @bloodsworn-marshal and @zuraoftheblack
If you would like my ideas about how Mimble might spend time with one of your OCs let me know and I should be happy to add some more.

Osmosis jones au world building: the main characters
So I will eventually do more art but also I'd like to just write and ramble for a bit before I have to go to bed for work tomorrow.
So where do we start? Canon characters first, then ocs
Long post under the cut
Cells
Ozzy
A simple white blood cell more dedicated to his job than anyone else in frank. oh poor ozzy. to go from riding high in Frank to stuck in a stranger with thrax in less than 3 weeks. originally i wasn't going to have ozzy in this au. it was focused on thrax and myx but it just got too dark. Osmosis Jones adds a little levity and hope to the situation or at least he tries to. In this au, thrax is taken back to frank to act as a vaccine. He's locked up in the lymph nodes by Jones when the doctors that treated Frank decide to find out what nearly killed him. As a result ozzy, drix and thrax are sucked up through a needle and taken to a lab. Unfortunately this one is controlled by umbrella, who are interested in thrax as a potential mutagen for the t-virus. I won't spoil the details but eventually the 3 of them end up in Patient Zero. Ozzy is faced with a choice, become infected and live in patient zero as an immune cell or get flushed out of the body. unfortunately patient zero's mutated immune system would just see ozzy, a normal immunity cell, as a threat. it's not an easy decision to become infected; normally such things would be a death sentence in any other body. not patient zero.
that’s not the only thing that will take some getting used to. Unfortunately for ozzy, thrax made the jump to patient zero too. He's not the same virus he was in Frank, and Ozzy can't help but feel bad for him. Ozzy had a choice to be infected, thrax didn't. not to mention the fact he's essentially trapped in patient zero while she recovers alone in quarantine. then there’s everything Myx did to him…
regrettably, despite his infection and sublimation into patient zero's body, her immunity force is still unwilling to take him on full time, probably due to his continual flouting of the rules. he decides to become a private detective/ bounty hunter, with thrax and drix as helpers.
I am shipping thrax and ozzy but only gently at this stage. they're more like each other's comfort and normalcy in such a strange new body. Thrax keeps Ozzy from doing anything crazy, helps translate between him and the viral cells in patient zero and Ozzy in turn keeps an eye on thrax, keeps him from brooding or becoming too murdery.
Drix
honestly i'm still a little at a loss with what to do with drix. but I can't have ozzy without him, at least at the start. I'm thinking of having a big dramatic scene where he saves ozzy, getting him safely inside a body before being destroyed. I'm not sure I can do that to him but I'm equally unsure of where he fits into the story except for more trauma for ozzy :/.
If I were to keep him I imagine he’d be in a similar role to the tv show: deuteragonist and sensible foil to Ozzy, calm foil to thrax. He’s the mom friend, the one who knows most about what's going on with Patient Zero. I also imagine he’s close to Cere, since they were both lab made to exist amongst cells, both know a lot about biology etc.
Not being a cell as such, Drix is unaffected by the t-virus, physically at least. He approaches the horror with a scholarly view but is disturbed by the destruction it causes. Still, the t-virus is so much stronger than the common cold, his arsenal of medicines doesn't always work when he needs them to. Drix is more useful as a source of information, the department he was created in Illinois was umbrella funded, as such he has a little outside information for the cells that have mostly been left in the dark about this atrocity.
Maria
Maria is currently only mentioned in this au. I do like shipping her as a couple or thruple with ozzy and drix but i might just put that on the back burner or keep it au canon adjacent. . We assume that Frank and Shanes home town in New England is affected by a t-virus outbreak but her fate is left unknown.
Viruses
Thrax
Thrax is a cyclomegalovirus variant; a herpes virus related to chickenpox albeit one that is far more deadly than the usual dose.How he came to be so deadly is unknown. He doesn't remember much of his past before becoming a virus, only that his first human was under quarantine in a hospital. He managed to escape largely by virtue of not knowing what the hell he was doing until their quarantine period had passed. He’s been body hopping and collecting DNA beads ever since.
He was defeated by osmosis jones and returned to Frank to act as a vaccine. With his claw broken in shanes eyelash there was little he could do in the way of infecting cells, besides spitting (figurative) bile at anyone who came to question him in Frank's lymph nodes. Regrettably the doctors treating Frank had their own questions: they wanted to know what thrax was and promptly sucked him, ozzy and drix into a needle. The sample containing the 3 of them was sent to an umbrella controlled lab, who were VERY interested in Thrax. It seemed he would get his page in the medical books yet.
It’s in this umbrella lab that Thrax is introduced to Myxomatosis, a t-virus variant, as well as several other random viruses and bacteria in the hopes that two of them will create something better, more dangerous. It works, in a sense. Myx mutates after devouring several other bacteria and viruses and stealing their DNA strands. By the time she is finished mutating, Thrax is the only one left alive. She keeps him alive essentially as a companion…or trophy.
Things go from bad to worse for Thrax when Myx’ natural drive to seek out the strongest host lands them both in patient zero. While myx is initially happy to be in the presence of her “mother “ Cerebri (patient zero’s mayor and the original t-virus mutation that created myx and ataxia), they begin to clash over Cere’s way of governing patient zero and myx unending cruelty, particularly towards thrax.
Eventually thrax is freed, partially by the intervention of Ozzy. Although he has been mutated and forever changed by Myx, he at least has a safe place to live in patient zero. Who knows, maybe one day he might even like it?
Thrax is currently a bounty hunter in patient zero, hunting down rogue cells and anyone who might upset patient zero’s recovery. Cere suggested the position as it would allow him to feel useful while still catering to his drive for violence as a virus.
Myxoma tosis
Myxoma tosis (or Myx for short) is possibly the worst thing to happen to sentient life since the black plague. Myx doesn't so much exist as she does inflict herself on life. That is to say, she is a terrible person even as far as deadly pathogens go. Myx started her life as a bacteriophage, essentially a harmless virus that could only attack bacteria. No one at umbrella thought she would ever be of any use to the t-virus program, her mutation into a bioweapon happened almost by accident. She escaped from her first test subject through a bite, winding up in the same body as Thrax who sees her as little of a threat. Offended by her creators lack of faith in her and Thrax’s dismissal of her potential she goes on a rampage, killing and devouring hundreds of cells and bacteria for their DNA strands. By the time she is finished, Thrax is the only one left.
Filled with rage, she is about to kill him when she decides on a worse fate: keep him around so he can see how much better she is than him. Myx drags thrax from body to body inflicting hideous damage on both him and her unwilling hosts. She refuses to explain her thinking, only that she is looking for a body strong enough to handle her. She seems to finally have found what she’s looking for in patient zero. It's a shame Cerebri is already at the controls.
Myx eventually pushes her luck too far and is destroyed by Ozzy with the help of patient zero's immune system. The damage she inflicted in such a short space of time, both on patient zero and the cells within her still lingers.
Cerebri Tonin (Cere)
Cere was just a normal immunity cell before Patient zero was infected with the t-virus. Originally a phagocyte, The immune system equivalent of a SWAT officer, Cere was the last one standing between the t-virus and patient zero’s brain. The mayor had been killed in the crossfire and the t-virus was heading for the controls. Both injured by the fight, and with patient zero dying from fever, the virus offered Cere a deal : a temporary truce. He would allow her to save patient zero from her fever and continue living. Once that was done he would take it from there. Cere took the offer, to bait the t-virus into the open. Her plan was suicide, literally. She performed pyroptosis, in an attempt to destroy the virus , sacrificing herself in the process. But the t-virus had its own plans. Just before she could complete her task, cere was bitten and infected. To her it didn't matter. This was the end for both of them
Unfortunately for cere, by some miracle or quirk of fate, she survived albeit badly damaged and begining to mutate into a t-virus cell. There were few cells left in the brain to run the place at that point. All others had been successfully infected and left to infect others, or died where they stood attempting to hold the line.She was left with a tough choice: live to save patient zero by sitting at the controls, risk mutating herself and becoming the thing she nearly died to destroy or complete her sacrifice, hope it wasnt all in vain and leave patient zero to wait for help that might never arrive. Cere chose the former.
While no one would ever call the following circumstances ``lucky” it was good fortune that patient zero was shot trying to escape the lab. She was placed in cold storage to heal which gave cere time to adapt and become comfortable with her new abilities without causing her host any damage. Eventually she was elected mayor and has been working to integrate the t-virus into patient zero’s body ever since. Cere became the first and over time, most powerful strain of the T-matriarch virus.
Finally free from her nightmare of 4 long years, patient zero is depending on cere to keep her healthy while she recovers from the trauma umbrella inflicted upon her.
Ataxia
Ataxia is an experimental strain of the T-matriarch virus, dubbed the t-matron. She is currently being tested in an offsite lab in New england. Umbrella have been using several schools in the area as testing grounds, most notably Hector Cruz and Shane Detorre’s high school. Their hope is that they may find someone able to replicate Patient zero’s powers and success with adapting to the T-virus. Unfortunately all other test subjects exposed to the t-matriarch have died so a less powerful version was created in the hope a few more subjects might survive to the next round of testing.
Ataxia herself is the youngest of the known t-matriarch variants. She lacks Cere’s discipline or myx aggression but is also capable of limited self replication (ie she can make copies but the copies can't make copies), a unique trait among viruses.
T-virus
Usually referred to only as Tea, he is a bioweapon created by the umbrella corporation with the aim of being 100% fatal… although current rates are only about 90%, with 10% of the population being naturally immune, much to Tea’s ire. A fledgling virus when he is injected into patient zero this doesn't stop him from being insufferably smug and cocky. He has years of experimentation and design iteration behind him that has made him assured he is the apex predator in any body. He seems to have met his match in Cere however.
While they are natural enemies he seems to hold cere in strangely high regard, possibly as there are so few humans with immune systems naturally resistant to him. Both on the verge of death after a long fight, tea proposes a truce. He knows he can't kill patient zero, not now, not injured and with cere in the way. I won't bore you with the details, but needless to say trusting a virus goes as well as one might think. His hopes are that if he can't kill patient zero, he’ll still go down in history as one of the strongest strains of t-virus alive. Tea dies, but not before infecting cere and passing on his legacy.
Humans
Frank detorre
Main character from the movie, home to Ozzy and Drix, unwitting host to thrax. When we first see Frank he is recovering in the hospital from the effects of thrax.With insistence from his daughter, He agrees to allow his doctors to use him as a case study and retrieve a sample of whatever made him sick. Because of this, Thrax ,ozzy and drix are removed from frank in a blood sample and sent to an umbrella controlled lab. It is unknown what happened to Frank in the end, something that haunts ozzy. What is known is that a t-virus outbreak occurred in shanes school. It is likely she brought the illness home, causing both of them to perish.
Shane detorre
Daughter of Frank, she does her best to keep her father healthy, including encouraging him to participate in a study to discover what made him so ill when he contracted Thrax. Shane loves science and is always interested in helping people. It's just unfortunate that umbrella decided to use her school as a testing ground for their latest bio weapon. Shanes fate is unknown but given that cere reports there were no successful candidates from the experiment, it is safe to assume she perished.
Patient zero
Patient zero was a woman working for umbrella in their engineering department. That is until she began to question the company's motives. Dissatisfied with her work and the company in general, she began to look elsewhere for employment. Unfortunately for her, umbrella deemed her too valuable to simply let her walk away. Adopting a “if we can't have you no one can” attitude Patient zero was abducted and infected with the t-virus. Despite being on her last legs with fever and infection, patient zero made a break for it and attempted to escape the lab she was being held in. In the ensuing chaos, she was shot and subsequently placed in cold storage to heal and recover. This turned out to be a stroke of good fortune. By being placed in a state of rest at an incredibly low body temperature, patient zero’s body had time to adapt to the t-virus. She successfully integrated it into her system with no negative side effects. This adaptation made her incredibly valuable to the umbrella corporation, who have kept her under lock and key for nearly 4 years. A recent outbreak in the lab might finally afford her the freedom she desires
Referred to as “the city of Zero '' by her cells, Patient zero was far from a normal woman, even before her infection. With Cere at the controls, she has gained a suite of new capabilities including extreme healing, enhanced strength and reflexes as well as the ability to command and direct other infected individuals. A shame really, to be put in such a position when all she really wants to do is go home.
Trent bonner
Trent is a low level lab technician at the Hive, the laboratory where patient zero is being housed. Tasked with only menial jobs, Trent seemed to be at low risk for infection. Unfortunately then he should have taken a liking to some of the animal test subjects. The first of many of Myx victims Trent is bitten , infected and then goes on to create a massive outbreak in the lab. Fearing only for himself his selfishness sees him conceal his wound and infection until it is too late. It only takes about 12 hours for myx to tire of him and leave him to succumb to the damage she caused while turning him into her perfect host.
Trent is finally put out of his misery by patient zero but not before he bites and transfers myx, thrax and ozzy to her.
Thats a lot
Sorry if youve had the unfortunate experience of getting sucked into reading this shit. Hmu if u have any questions about the au lmao
ataxia belongs to the lovely @givemeuniversalcrossovers

*pokes head in through your door* Did someone request OC asks? :D
How did your Warden react to Zevran’s failed attempt on their life? Were they amused? Angry?
Did Alistair’s parentage surprise your Warden? How did your Warden’s feelings on the nobility affect their relationship with Alistair?
How did your Warden respond to Wynne’s comments if your Warden romanced someone? Did they tell her it was love or that the relationship was purely physical?
Did your Warden believe that Leliana was telling the truth about her vision from the Maker or were they skeptical?
How did your Warden speak to Sten? Did they fight with him often or were they more humorous in their responses?
How did your Warden react to Loghain’s fierce love for his daughter? Did they share a strong sense of loyalty to their own family?
*whips my head around smiles* That's meeeee! The OC asker in the flesh! Or well, digital. But, pah! 'Tis I! >:D
*rubs hands together* Let's do this! I've itching to share more of Elise, so thank you so much! X3
How did your Warden react to Zevran's failed attempt on their life? Were they amused? Angry?
Gonna be completely honest, Elise found it amusing. XD
At first.
She's lived her entire life in the Circle, a dismal cage with gilded bars. When she was conscripted, Elise looked at the world around her and went, 'I love it. I love it.' Tomes and stories that told of grand assassinations, trysts, and all manner of political intrigue were riveting to a mind that only knew stone walls and high, unreachable windows. So, when Elise found herself apart of an attempted assassination, a Crow assassination no less? Her heart sped up, her palms turned sweaty with excitement, and her magic sparked to life with more ease than she had ever thought herself capable of.
Obviously, when faced with Zevran after the fact, questions and answers holding dark shadows, Elise snapped out of her romanticizing. She saw that pretty bound books and an author's 'personal' representation of events they knew nothing about was merely fantasy; they weren't true, they weren't idyllic. They were cold. They were hard. They were just veneer to paint over the atrocity of war and power-mongering. People suffered for what she found so enthralling, and Zevran's attack, and later his past, makes her realize that she is truly naive of a world that she claims she loves.
Elise knew nothing about the outside world. Just like those authors knew nothing of the suffering of the people caught in the crossfire of war--those that had to do ungodly things just to survive.
Did Alistair’s parentage surprise your Warden? How did your Warden’s feelings on the nobility affect their relationship with Alistair?
Alistair's lineage did surprise Elise somewhat. However, in Ostagar, when she had met Cailan, and then went on to meet Alistair, something...stuck. There was a resemblance; Elise could see it in the faces of two seemingly different men. Cailan and Alistair don't look exactly alike, of course, but there are a few characteristics that made Elise pause while speaking to Alistair and go, 'Where have I seen the slope of his nose before?' or 'If his hair was just a shade lighter, he would be..' So, when Alistair finally shares the truth of his birthright, Elise takes it in relative stride, but it also makes her heart sink a bit.
By Redcliffe (in my play-through at least), Elise is beginning to development feelings for Alistair. She finds his presence comforting, his views refreshing, his resolve endearing, and his gentle awkwardness lovable. He's been with her since the beginning, when she was mildly frightened and unsure of a cage with no bars, but still a cage due to what she was; a mage. Alistair saw that, knew what she was, and still, he treated her like an equal--reaching out when nightmares took her, offering her a witty quip or a playful smile to try and lift her back up from the mud, and reassuring her she wasn't alone in this long and bloody task of their's.
Alistair treated Elise as a person, and Elise offers that same kindness when he reveals his connection to the throne. However, she can see the warmth in his eyes fade a little upon telling her, a crooked, wry smile replacing the jovial air of another, and Elise knows that Alistair knows.
She's a mage and he, a king. There is no happy ending in store for them, but love is as persistent as it is fleeting, and they fall into each other's orbit despite the pain it later brings them both.
How did your Warden respond to Wynne’s comments if your Warden romanced someone? Did they tell her it was love or that the relationship was purely physical?
Elise was kind of belligerent, not going to lie. It's actually the first time I envision that hardened side of her beginning to shine through.
When Wynne points out the fact that she and Alistair are both Wardens, and that he's the son of a king destined to follow in those heavy footsteps, it only succeeds in bringing those painful fears to the fore and reasserting to Elise that she can't be happy because of what she is. This conversation happens after the Broken Circle quest, so Elise is still haunted by those horrors of a home sundered, and most of all, Cullen and his words towards her. So, two sources have said to her, 'You can't have this because of what you are.', and that tears into Elise's slowly hardening heart. She knows her duty, she knows what she is and she's proud of it, and Elise believes that shouldn't bar her from what others are freely given.
"I am a mage. I am a Warden." Elise spat, fists clenching and unclenching sporadically as she glared into the elderly mage before her. "But, I'm also a woman--a person, Wynne. I have feelings, and I won't sweep those aside just because you think it's best, because the 'world' somehow suddenly demands it!" Magic tingled at her finger tips, sparks latching onto tiny energy nodes of the Fade as her hands began to shake. "I care for Alistair. I want to see him happy because this world hasn't let him be so! So...so, fuck your concern and wisdom! I have choices, Alistair has choices, and if that's irresponsible to you, then leave because my heart won't change. No matter what pain it could bring me!"
Did your Warden believe that Leliana was telling the truth about her vision from the Maker or were they skeptical?
Now, I think I've mentioned that Elise is somewhat religious. She believes in the Maker and Andraste, but like Dorian says in Inquisition, she doesn't believe in the Chantry's rhetoric.
In regards to Leliana's vision, the magically curious side of Elise comes out and she ponders if the vision was the work of it. She doesn't outright ask Leli that, knowing that it would probably be rebuffed or met with a, 'I'm...not sure.', but it lingers in the depths of her mind and Elise tries to do some research into similar occurrences, to no avail. All Elise knows is that Leliana finds strength and hope in what she saw, so she doesn't challenge it and spoil it with practical applications. After all, the nature of faith is shaped by the unknown, and Elise always did like a good mystery. So, even if she didn't completely believe it herself, Elise knows what it meant to Leliana to have that warmth long denied by a Chantry brazier.
How did your Warden speak to Sten? Did they fight with him often or were they more humorous in their responses?
Elise was fascinated by Sten. She had only read of the Qunari in the few meager tomes she could find--most struck from the records by the Chantry due to 'heresy'. So, when at camp, Elise took the time to learn from the stoic man. She asked questions, listened to his answers, sat, mouth agape at some of the more profound stories Sten would opt to share, and soaked it up like a sponge. Elise would challenge some viewpoints of Sten's, those concerning mages and the general people of Ferelden, but mainly because she wanted to hear his side. Elise was eager and undeterred by Sten's brusque, aloof, and outwardly annoyed demeanor. She just saw a person--a person who she could learn from. And I think Sten responded well to that curiosity and open-mindedness, even if he didn't show it all that well.
How did your Warden react to Loghain’s fierce love for his daughter? Did they share a strong sense of loyalty to their own family?
So, to start, Elise doesn't remember her family very well. She was taken to the Circle at young age, barely able to remember how she even came to the tower. But, her found family is everything to her and she would die, be tortured, and branded every manner of beast if it kept them safe.
And I'm not lying when I say that Loghain's love for Anora, and she for him, was what made Elise want to spare him.
In that moment, as the teyrn knelt upon the floor before her, sword limp, eyes downcast with all manner of emotion, and blood dribbling from wounds she had managed in a duel unnecessary, unfair, Elise didn't see a traitor, a murderer of Wardens and kings, or even a man whose sense of duty had been so warped that it led him astray.
No, she saw none of that. Instead, she saw a father--a father of both daughter and country.
Elise drew her lips tight, tasting the salt of her sweat and a hint of iron. Her hand shook upon the hilt of her sword, suddenly feeling too heavy, too much as she continued to keep it trained upon the defeated man. All eyes were upon her, their gazes like wildfire and bramble--burning, piercing, anticipating. Yet, she could not move. She could not do it.
She could not take a father from his child! She could not! Not when it wasn't necessary! Not when the Queen had asked, pleaded with tears in her blue eyes for a way out of this foolishness, for an end to the constant suffering! There was a way! There was!
"I--", Elise began, as shaky as her arm that brandished a sword instead of a staff. The tremors increased as the wildfire upon her back blazed, and her grip faltered, sword plummeting to the ground with a harsh clang. "I...won't kill you. I accept your surrender. I accept."
There were gasps and whispers of disbelief, but she blocked them out as tired eyes traveled from that abandoned weapon to her face, searching, seeking, and quietly suspicious. But, before any words could be uttered between them or explanations could be voiced, there was a shout--a familiar, but dreaded shout of anger, of disbelief, of betrayal most foul. One word. Just one, and it was sharper than her sword that lay upon the ground, coated with blood of thought up foes.
"What!?"

*drags hand down in front of my face in an elaborate fashion* And scene!
Thank you so much, friend! I hope you like the answers even if they are a tad long! :D

Primary Role: Farmer, Looper, Taunter, Solo
Secondary Role: Defensive Support
Situational Role: N/A
Another Knight of the Round Table has made his way to F/GO, much to the applause of basically everyone it seems. Betwixt a Servant with massive tits is a kit that honestly rather bland and straightforward, but also good enough to make Percival a good choice for your AoE Arts lancer. Whether he's your best one will depend on your pool, but he doesn't arrive a wash-up.
First we start off with his fundamentals. Like basically every other AoE Arts servant released in the history of ever, his NP gain is bad for his hit counts. His Arts cards are pretty embarrassing, his Quick card is largely worthless, and his Extra ranks at "decent". His AQA chain will generate about 25% of his NP gauge, which isn't too terrible but his NP gen problems will become apparent once you don't have his ideal chains. His star generation is a little kinder to him thanks to his decent hit counts, and both his BBQ and QBB chains can generate around 15 stars each. It's not amazing, but it might make a crit happen when it counts.
His 1st skill is a pretty good skill overall, providing a nice Arts and NP damage steroid while also giving a small but welcome NP charge. The increase in Arts performance will push his AQA chain to about 28%, which is expected because of his mediocre Arts cards. The two steroids together will result in a nice 56% damage bonus to his NP as well, which is a strong start. The cooldown is the expected eight to six turns, but that's probably fair all things considered. The charge allows Percival to instant NP with a K-Scope and gives the ability to fix a looping turn (Spoiler alert he loops), which is always nice.
His 2nd skill is a variation of Georgios' Guardian Knight...and personally I find it to be a lot weaker. It's the same 3-turn taunt which is incredible, now on top of a Lancer further increasing the amount of easily accessible 3-turn taunts to different classes, and also increases his defensive NP gen by 50%. Don't get me wrong, this skill can high roll pretty hard and grant him a lot of extra NP a turn against an enemy with high hit counts, but against enemies that are on the lower end you'd want the Def buff way more than the defensive NP gain, and you might want it more anyways since Percival doesn't pack any soft defensive buffs. It's also at a bit of a weird mismatch with his kit, since he's meant to be in farming comps where this doesn't really matter. But in the future, it might be a good skill in a Nerofest exhibition quest or in a challenge quest of some kind, so I won't be too hard on it.
His 3rd skill is a targetable Invul with an okay heal attached to it, which is always pretty welcome. This skill not only has a lot of versatility in being able to keep others alive, it's also a hard defensive skill for Percival as well as a way to guarantee another turn of protection. It's a good skill and solid support, although not positioned the best in terms of his kit.
His NP is where things get...well a little interesting. An AoE NP that pierces invul is always nice, and the extra NP damage buff is appreciated as well, putting him at 40% total usually. His damage sits on average a little under 20k, which is not bad for an unupgraded NP. He also has a heal attached to his NP, but with a catch: it will always heal the, relatively, most damaged party member. Thanks to his taunt, that will usually be him and it's his main source of sustain, but be careful in team situations where his heal might accidentally go to someone else.
So let's get to the boring part and talk about looping. With his 1st skill active, an NPAA chain will generate about 56% of his NP gauge if he hits 3 enemies, 46% if he hits 2, and 36% if he hits only one enemy. This isn't counting overkill either so it can be even higher. It's worth noting that he will need at least two turns on average in between each NP in order to use it again on his own, which could be a problem...
If not for Castoria! A DCS set-up will result in Percival generating about 73% on average, without overkill, on 3 enemies. One might be tempted to despair there, but overkill makes a big difference in looping and this usually means that Percival can 3-turn fairly easily with just an MC boost to his Arts or NP gen for the second wave on average, with the ability to coast on refund with enough overkill. You can also pop his 1st skill to help with the ranges, since the extra 30% Arts bonus makes the base number jump to 84% and helps with his damage a lot more. All in all, his ability to loop is pretty secured, although not 100% painless.
Grails: Grails are okay for Percival, since increasing his attack will naturally increase his NP damage, making overkill easier and loops easier and more consistent. It's not really needed but you'll still likely notice the difference.
Support: Listen he's an AoE Arts servant, he was practically made to work with Servants like Castoria and Tamamo. His synergy with Tamamo is particularly note while, being able to boost his damage as well as grant heals and reduce the cooldowns on his taunts. He'll also work in very defensive teams as a Taunter with damage output, in addition to his targetable invul for emergencies.
Command Code: Percival can have some pretty solid solo potential with the Good Wife CC, increasing the heal on his NP to 4500 or potentially 6000 if timed right, which makes it a good option, as well as CCs to boost his NP damage and his NP gen. He can also use other CCs that remove buffs if you want to focus on him as a secondary DPS in another team.
Craft Essences: K-Scope gives him the ability to instantly NP, The Black Grail gives him massive NP damage while Royal Icing and Sign of Smiling Face give him less damage but more NP consistency, so on and so forth. If you're lacking a Castoria yourself, any 50% CE can be a good option, with notable shout outs for Painting Summer and Vessel of Desires as the best overall options.
Competition: There are 3 other Arts AoE lancers in the game that can compare to Percival: Fionn, Melt, and Vritra (sorry Elice). To be fair to all of them though, they're all good Arts loopers and all can be used really easily with the right gameplan. However, Percival has a notable benefit in having the highest overall refund to all of them with all buffs up. However, this probably only puts him above Fionn in terms of pure viability. Melt still has a 60% NP charge which is incredible, as well as being one of the only loopers to produce a ton of crit stars, and Vritra not only has higher stats overall, but NP regen and anti-Divine bonus damage. It's best to consider what you need to farm the node in question. He's probably the least finicky of the bunch to get looping. In terms of damage, here is the average damage of all 4 lancers at NP1:
Fionn: 96,691
Melt: 93,224
Vritra (non-Divine): 111,968
Percival: 99,627
All in all, he fits right in as a very competent looper and Arts DPS with the rest of the gang.
Pros:
-Solid steroids give him good NP damage
-NP charge is good on a looper, though a bit weak
-3 turn taunts are always very powerful
-Targetable invul and heal give him good versatility
-Pierce invul on NP will ensure damage most of the time
-Very good refund for an Arts Lancer, makes him easy to loop
-NP has another heal to stack on his S3
Cons:
-Most of his kit is pointless if he's only used for looping
-NP gain is slow when not used in looping comps
-Relies on heals to deal with damage while taunting, which can be problematic with high damage opponents
-Heal may not go to Percival which can be dangerous
Overall Opinions:
Percival did not immediately interest me like the other Lancer on his banner, but he's a good example of an "Ol' Reliable" kind of Servant: everything in his kit is stuff we've seen before, but it's all good and he rounds out being a pretty strong Servant. Good looping, good team support, solid healing capabilities, and good enough damage gives him a strong overall performance, despite the occasional hiccups in his kit and intended role.
He's good y'all.

“It’s You” - Jimin’s Story (Run In)
Genre: Smut, Fluff, and Slight Angst
Word Count: 7.4K
A/N: Hello my fellow readers! I hope all is well and before you began reading, there a few things I want to go over first. As planned, I wanted to release this one shot of Jimin’s character in the “Run In” series. Since you, as the reader, ended up with Yoongi, I believe it’s only fair if Jimin also found love and for a couple reasons.
1. He’s a romantic at heart and waiting for his princess to come along and dote on her.
2. It is mentioned in the new series.
3. Because who wouldn’t want a man like him especially how he treats the OC in the series.
So with this one shot, I’m going to try something a little different and write it from 3rd person. Just like I did for my earlier stories, you will be able to replace y/n with your actual name (this is for those Jimin Stan’s out there or those who like his character and see themselves with him). Hopefully it won’t be too difficult to follow along. Happy Readings!^^
Your name: submit What is this? document.getElementById("submit").addEventListener('click', function(){ walk(document.body, /\by\/n\b|\(y\/n\)/ig, document.getElementById("inputTxt").value); }); function walk(node, v, p){ var child, next; switch (node.nodeType){ case 1: // Element case 9: // Document case 11: // Document fragment child = node.firstChild; while (child){ next = child.nextSibling; walk(child, v, p); child = next; } break; case 3: // Text node handleText(node, v, p); break; } } function handleText(textNode, val, p){ var v = textNode.nodeValue; v = v.replace(val, p); textNode.nodeValue = v; }
Jimin released a deep sigh as he stared up at the large shelves of books. He wasn’t sure of what exactly he was looking for but he was still there to find something interesting enough to read in his spare time, while he rested at home. The last time he recalled being in this particular bookstore, he met a beautiful girl, by chance, hoping she could be the sun to his rather dark and stormy life. However, the girl was already involved with a man who would later become his partner with their business. As hard as it was, he put his feelings aside and reunited the pair through their somewhat turbulent relationship.
Now here he was, at nine forty-five at night, standing in a bookstore trying to find a cure for his boredom and loneliness.
Jimin had less than twenty minutes before the place closed and despite being there for an hour already, he still had no idea what he was looking for. This particular bookstore had music and other items to start a hobby, but Jimin just wasn’t sure what he wanted to do.
“Attention customers! We will be closing in fifteen minutes! Please bring your items to checkout!”
The sudden announcement was even more unnecessary pressure that Jimin did not need. He was having enough trouble deciding what to buy. Grabbing a romantic drama off of the shelf, he was ready to make his way to checkout when a voice intervened.
“Excuse me,” the voice called to him. When Jimin turned to face it, he found himself eye to eye with a woman. Nothing special about her jumped out at him initially and he really didn’t have time to stand and chat about a random, mind numbingly topic. “Are you sure you want to read that book?”
The question, itself, caught Jimin off guard as he wondered why she asked such a thing especially when he had so little time to debate about it.
“Not to be blunt but I wouldn’t have picked it up if I didn’t consider reading it.” He responded wittingly.
“Of course you’ve considered reading it but were you actually going to?” She responded just as bluntly.
Jimin pondered over the idea of whether to tell this woman to go about her night in a not so generous way or to humor her haughtiness. Since he had a little time to spare, he decided to go with the second option. Tying his arms across his chest, he stood in a position, letting his guest know that she had his complete attention.
“Okay, I’m willing to hear your argument as to what I’m spending my time on is any concern of yours.” Jimin answered smug.
“There is no argument on my end. I simply believe that you will not find any enjoyment in that book you’re holding if you are not genuinely interested in reading it.” She said. “I’m only stating this after what I picked up on about you.”
“And what’s that?”
“Simple, you been staring at this section of books for over thirty minutes. It’s as if you’re waiting for a special book to fly into your hands or waiting for someone to recommend something to you. That particular book has been sitting in your face since you arrived to that very spot. You’ve overlooked it several times but now that the store is closing, it has become the source of your attention. You grab it, hoping it will full your mind with false realities and adventure just so you could escape yours.” She placed the book in her hand, back on the shelf and addressed him one last time. “Going back to what I was saying before, if you are not interested in reading that book; it would be wise to put it back. Great stories take a while to build up, pulling you into the plot and sucking out your emotions. However, if you are in a rush to find excitement for the moment, you’ll only let yourself down.”
Without any other words, the woman walked off and out of the store and into the night. Jimin watched her disappear before looking down at the novel in his hand.
This stack of papers cover by a hard shell almost had him in an altercation with a very headstrong woman. Majority of the time, he was very compassionate towards women, but the one he just had contact with, was nothing short of irritating. Clearly the case of someone who invested their time reading too many books. A bookworm.
Even as Jimin stood in line, he continued to have doubts on whether he should purchase the book or not. What did she know? Everyone’s experience reading novels were different. Everyone had different reactions so why did it matter if he didn’t read it right away? Eventually, he planned on doing it.
Shaking his head of thoughts, he walked over to the counter and bought the hardcover, walking out of the store with it, in hand.
~~~~~
A couple months later, Jimin entered his bedroom; taking off his shirt and undressing to shower. He had a very long and stressful day that all he wanted to do was relax for a couple hours. When he had emerged, dripping wet from head to toe, from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, he pondered over what he could eat and do.
There, lying on his nightstand was the book, the same book that caused him to be publicly humiliated by an egotistical woman. Picking it up, he rotated the book in his hand; examining it. It had been awhile since he last seen it. Due to how busy he’s been at work, Jimin had not even opened it up to read the first page. Now that he finally had time, he thought about actually reading it. But instead, he took the hardcover to his library and placed it on the shelf where there was open space before finding something else to do.
~~~
Not even a week or so later, Jimin was driving to and unknown location with Ujin riding along in the passenger seat. This was another transaction that needed to be taken care of.
“Master Jimin, it would be wise if you let me accompany you inside the warehouse.” Ujin offered. Usually when they did transactions, he was side by side with Jimin. But now, this client wanted to meet with him alone and Jimin agreed. Ujin worked for the Park family but his main job was to protect the young mafia leader from harm.
“The client just needs to know if he could trust me. Once he does, business will be flowing as usual.”
The car stopped in front of an old warehouse, covered in rust with the color fading. It was secluded enough for a secret meeting and quiet in case they needed to hear any unwelcome visitors. Both men gotten out of the car, Ujin walked around to the driver side; ready to climb inside.
“Don’t worry; it’ll be over before you know it.” Jimin offered. “Just stay close by in the case I would need you.”
Ujin nodded, getting into the car and driving off. Holding a briefcase in hand, Jimin walked inside the old building to find a single man waiting inside. He also had a briefcase which was seated on the ground by his foot. When he noticed that Jimin had arrived and was also alone, a smile appeared on his face.
“You came alone.” The man said in a relaxed voice.
“As planned.” Jimin countered in a stoic manner. “Now let’s get down to business.”
The man picked up the case, holding it out to him. “I have what you asked for.”
Confusion crossed Jimin’s face as he knew this transaction was not an exchange but an offering. Something was going on and as soon as he figured out what it was, the warehouse was surrounded by police. They rushed the place with guns drawn, aiming it in Jimin’s direction. Jimin could only stare up at the man in anger as the police escorted him away.
“Sorry, Park. I had no other options.”
Several officers forced Jimin to the ground as they cuffed his hands behind his back. This was a set up. The client had set him up and had now turned him over to the police and for what reason?
Ujin watched from behind the wheel as the police officers seated Jimin in the backseat of a patrol car. There was nothing he could do at this moment in time. Instead, he followed close behind to the police station. He waited for hours, making a few phone calls, until Jimin’s bail was posted to get him out. Both men walked out of the station and climbed into the car, driving off into the night.
~~~~~
“Ujin called me after it happened. Are you okay?” Yoongi asked him, handing him a drink he had just poured.
Jimin easily accepted, taking a sip. “I’m fine. I just don’t understand why the set up.”
“It happens to the best of us. What I can’t believe is that the police taking you to trial over a busted transaction.” Jimin shrugged, taking a larger gulp of his drink; finishing it off. “It seems like a waste of time but in any case, I’m going to help out your attorney. Mines know a few tricks up his sleeve.”
“Thanks. If the police want to play hardball, I can use all the help I can get.”
~~~
During the course of next week, Jimin met with his attorney who gotten his side of the case. He gave his lawyer a very detail description of what happened that day, from what time he and Ujin arrived to the location to how many officers came to arrest him.
“Well not to worry,” his lawyer told him. “From what I gather, the evidence against you isn’t very strong so the judge may drop the case but as protocol, we have to show up in court. Our best bet is to deny it all and claim that day was just a meeting between friends.”
“What’s the evidence?” Jimin asked.
“Mr. Min’s lawyer will explain everything when he gets here. Right now, he’s gathering up the rest of the information we need for trial.”
Not even five minutes later, the secretary had announced the arrival of three visitors. Two of which were Yoongi’s attorneys, the other happened to be the familiar face Jimin had words with at the bookstore. She walked in behind both men, taking a seat at the round oval table. Her eyes briefly met his before she broke away to get situated. He assumed she would have shown some kind of reaction seeing him again but she didn’t. She was completely unfazed. She took out a notepad and pen, ready to jot down notes for the meeting.
“Before we began, let me introduce you to the team.” His lawyer spoke. “I’m sure you’ve met Mr. Min Yoongi’s two lawyers any this is-“
“Y/n.” She interrupted. “You can call me y/n. Now shall we get down to business?”
All four men nodded, getting back to the matter at hand. Each of the lawyers took turns questioning Jimin and when it was y/n turn, she didn’t shy away from the tough critical questions.
“The judge would want to know your reasons for meeting in such a place. So why were you there?”
Jimin cleared his throat. “To meet a friend.”
“But why that place? Why a warehouse?”
“It was his decision. If a friend wanted to meet on a beach or in an alley, I see no problem with it.”
She wrote something down in her notepad before looking back up at him. “So you met up with him for what reason?”
Jimin decided to play on the advice of his lawyer, chalking up the arrest to nothing but a misunderstanding. He wasn’t sure if y/n knew who he really was or what he did for a living but he didn’t need her to change sides and try to put him behind bars if she sudden found out.
“I’m not sure. He called me there to talk and but before we could do that, the police raided the place.”
Y/n went quiet, pulling out a piece of paper from a binder. “The police believed they caught you in the middle of a weapons transaction. They have wire taps and have your prints on a briefcase containing guns inside. Do you want to tell me why that is if you were only there to talk?”
“My fingerprints shouldn’t be on any briefcase other than my own. He did have a case but I didn’t touch it.”
“You mean to tell me that your prints are on a case that you didn’t touch?” She countered, staring him dead in the eyes.
“I’m telling you that the police are wrong. My friend offered me a briefcase but I didn’t touch it. Whatever report the police has is wrong. If they had wire taps of the conversation, then you’ll be able to rule out me putting my hands on anything.”
Y/n whispered to one of Yoongi’s lawyers before she continued. “The police confiscated your case. Do want to tell me what is it inside?”
“Nothing but paperwork. I am a businessman after all.”
“Your briefcase did not contain money?”
“No. Who told you it did? The police?” Jimin asked smug.
Y/n looked away, closing the binder. “That’s all the questions I have.”
“Good,” his lawyer stated, standing up to shake their hands. “We will meet once before the trial. I look forward to seeing you then.”
Jimin stood, as well, to shake each of their hands. When it came to y/n, he stared down at her face, hoping he could get some kind of reaction out of her. But she simply shook his hand, released it, before walking away to join her coworkers.
She plagued his mind ever since then. Jimin was extremely curious about her. Who was she? How long has she been an attorney? What did she do on her free time? Y/n was more than a random woman at a bookstore; she was now his defense lawyer.
Even as Jimin lied in bed, he wondered what her thoughts were seeing him again after so long. Did she expect to come into the meeting to see him? Or what were her thoughts about him and the case? Did she know who he was or what he did for a living?
He had to smile to himself. Life was definitely full of unexpected surprises.
~~~~~
The day of the trial had come and Jimin found himself seated in the courtroom; his partner and team, all by his side through the ordeal. His lawyers were seated by him but y/n seat was next to his.
During the trial, the DA took their time breaking down their argument; stating how Park Jimin was in the middle of a weapons transaction, is a danger to society, and needed to be locked away. When they finished, they had painted him as everyone’s worst nightmare; a monster in a closet; a stone cold killer walking the streets of the city.
When it was Jimin’s turn, his lawyers each had a different job to do. His lawyer questioned him while Yoongi’s attorneys questioned the man who helped with the setup, the police officers who made the arrest, as well as the individuals who collected the evidence. Y/n job was to create reasonable doubt and question the evidence as well as the police’s motives.
“Your honor, I’d like to bring attention to the mysterious briefcase that supposedly had my client’s finger prints on it.” She stood looking over her notes before walking over to the front of the courtroom. Jimin couldn’t help but follow the outline of her body with his eyes and how her suit accentuated her curves. “According to forensics, there were only one set of prints on the briefcase... and those didn’t belong to Park Jimin.”
“Objection! Our forensics found two sets of prints. I don’t know where you’ve gotten your sources-“
“But I’ve gotten my sources and all of my information from your team.” She said innocently with a pout of her lips. When she noticed the DA’s demeanor change, so did she. Y/n quickly returned to the position of the powerful defense attorney. “Everything I have, I gotten from doing a follow up with your police officers, your forensics, and your client who was blackmailed into this scheme to arrest my client.”
“Objection!”
She turned towards the judge. “Your honor, I have plenty of statements and evidence to prove that the motives of police precinct 8 are completely unjustified and illegal. This is nothing more than the setup of an innocent man. Park Jimin was simply there to meet a friend not to create a transaction against the law. All of the evidence you were shown is felonious and unlawful.”
The judge turned his attention to the DA, talking as he flipped through papers. “I was aware that you had Mr. Park’s property booked into evidence.”
“Yes, sir. We do.”
“You also stated that his briefcase contained large bills, is that correct?”
“Er... well we assumed that’s what’s inside.” He stumbled a bit.
“If his case has not been thoroughly reviewed, why is it down as evidence?”
“W-Well I-“
“Do we have the briefcase here with us?” The judge asked. It wasn’t long before the bailiff was opening the case in front of the entire court room. “This will put an in to all of this.”
All of the attorneys in the room, held their breath for what was inside. If there was money, Jimin could possibly face jail time for committing a crime. However, if it’s what his defense claim it is, he will walk away a free man.
When the briefcase was finally opened, it presented nothing but paperwork inside. A series of noises made by the crowd rung out, causing the judge to hit his gavel against the stand; quieting the room.
“It says that this paperwork is for the property owned by Mr. Park Jimin.” The bailiff stated, looking over the white sheets.
“If that’s the case and there isn’t any money, Park Jimin, you are free to go.”
Everyone stood to their feet, letting out cheers and groans for different reason. Jimin was now free which meant we would continue to walk the streets as a mobster, a hazard to the city. Meanwhile, all of his friends cheered for his release. Now that this was behind them, they could continue with their business and getting back to work.
Hours later, everyone found themselves at a local bar; laughing and drinking the night away. Even their lawyers were there to relax after today’s trial; all except her: y/n.
“She claimed she had something else to do tonight.” His attorney said, swallowing back a shot of alcohol.
Jimin was actually disappointed at the news. He wanted to see her again, to thank her for all of her hard work. Possibly, have a normal conversation with her. Y/n played a significant part of his freedom and he felt as if he owed her even if she was just doing her job.
“Quit stalling, you son of a bitch, and tell us how you did it?” His lawyer yelled belligerently.
Feeling quite proud, Jimin opened his briefcase to show off how he managed to get his case thrown out with just this single item. Anyone close to him knew that he carried money for the business transactions. Where was it?
Lifting up the bottom lining of the inside, Jimin showed off the neatly stacked large bills. Everyone let out groans and cheers at the sight. He simply smiled to himself. Being in this business, he learned to have all of his bases covered.
When Jimin returned home, his thoughts were still stuck on y/n. She was all that clouded his mind. Even if he was to see her again, he wasn’t sure what to say. The irritated impression she had left on him was gone and he didn’t harbor any ill feelings towards her, but he wasn’t sure if she had felt the same way. Seeing how she agreed to take on his case, Jimin felt as though she dropped the matter at the bookstore. So then, why not talk to him? Why not come to the bar to celebrate?
Jimin climbed into bed, throwing the bedsheet over his naked top half. He’d just have to wait to run into her again. Maybe then he could get the answers to his questions.
~~~
“Hello again.” Jimin said with a smile.
As luck would turn out, he ran into y/n a week later at the bookstore where they first met. He had no specific reason for coming there that day but the moment he saw her, he was glad that he did.
“Hello.” She simply said turning her attention back to the book she was reading.
“We missed you after you had left the courthouse. I wanted to thank you for your help.”
“My apologies but I had previous plans.”
“So I was told.”
It became quiet between them as Jimin fought back what he wanted to say. He stared down at her, never noticing how beautiful she was until now. Maybe it was the fact that she came to the rescue and he didn’t expect her to. Maybe because she still continued to pay him no mind, meanwhile when women who realized who he was, they chased after him; begging for his attention. Crazy enough, she had his attention. There wasn’t one day that hadn’t gone by that she didn’t cross his mind. Even as he worked alongside Yoongi, y/n never left his thoughts. Now here she was, standing in front of him and he wanted her attention just as she had his.
“What were your plans?” Jimin suddenly asked her.
“Personal... And private.” She countered, not even sparing him a glance.
“I’m just asking, seeing how I still haven’t showed you my thanks.”
“You don’t have to.”
“Geez, for you to constantly turn down my offer must mean that you’re scared to be alone with me.”
“I can assure you that is hardly the reason.”
“Whatever you say, Miss I’m-so-serious-about-everything. Just so you know, my offer for a glass of wine still stands.”
Y/n angrily closes the book, staring up at him. Clearly he wasn’t going to budge. “If I agree to one, would that get you off my back?”
Jimin thought about it, playfully; rubbing his chin as if he was in deep thought. “I don’t think so, but it’s a start.” He beamed, causing her let out a defeated sigh.
Not even twenty minutes later, y/n found herself walking through the door of the Park property. She felt a bit uncomfortable being there, especially with the nature of their relationship. She didn’t want anyone watching to get the wrong idea, seeing how she just got him off not too long ago.
“Come in and make yourself comfortable.” Jimin stated, leaving her by the door to walk further into his house.
Y/n slowly but surely eased forward, taking the time to look around. She found the decor of his house comforting as she was soon able to relax. It was long before Jimin emerged with two wine glasses in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other. He sat it down on the nearby table, popping the cork and pouring both him and her, a glass. Occasionally, he’d glance in her direction only to find her mesmerized by different paintings and statues, staring at them with her mouth agape. He couldn’t help but smile to himself because of it.
“Here you go.” Jimin handed her the crystal glass.
“Thank you,” y/n said, taking a sip. “This is quite the collection you have.”
“Thanks. I accumulated it all over a couple years. Because of work and the places I’ve traveled, I managed to capture a part of it and take a piece back with me. It relaxes me, not only being able to think back on the place but recounting certain memories from my trips.”
“It’s impressive. I have to admit, I’ve never would have expected you to be a man of culture.”
“Of course you wouldn’t, seeing how our first encounter was less than peasant.” Jimin chuckled, taking a sip. “Your first impression wasn’t to know who I was but to knock some knowledge into my head.”
“And I’m sure it went through one ear and out the other,” She smiled behind the rim of the glass. “I guess I was being a little bit headstrong.”
“Oh, a little?!”
Y/n rolled her eyes, turning to face him. “What do you want? An apology?”
“Actually, yes. I was quite offended.” Jimin jokingly placed his hand on his chest, in a hurtful manner.
“I’m sorry for hurting your feelings, Mr. Park Jimin. I never knew how much of a sensitive baby you really were.” When she finished, she took a sip of her wine. “Better?”
He scoffed, shaking his head; running his hands through his hair. “I guess it’ll do for now?” He cleared his throat. “So what were these personal private plans that kept you from coming out to celebrate?”
Y/n swallowed the alcohol in her mouth. “Wouldn’t you like to know?” She teased.
“Yeah, I would.” He replied in a deadpan voice, gaining her attention. The two of them stared off until y/n broke eye contact. She sat the rest of her drink down, making sure she had all of her belongings.
“Thanks for the one glass.”
She walked towards the door and Jimin immediately sat his glass down and took off after her. He grabbed her just as she was about to put her shoes on.
“Wait a minute! Are you really leaving because of a question?”
“I’m leaving because you’re too persistent. Why can’t you just drop it?!” She yelled out frustrated. “Why does it matter if I didn’t go?”
“It’s only because I get the feeling that you dislike me, and for whatever reason, but I’m trying to make it right.”
“I don’t dislike you-“
“Then what is it?”
Y/n turned her body around to fully face him. “Because I’m trying to stop myself from falling for you!” She admitted.
“What do you mean?” Jimin asked confused. How could she fall for him and they barely knew each other. “I thought you didn’t know who I was?”
She scoffed. “Of course I know who you are! Everyone in the city knows who you are. You’re Park Jimin, one of the most powerful mobsters around. Your name and face is everywhere.”
Jimin didn’t know what to say. All he could do was just stare.
“I knew who you were even when we met at the bookstore. I didn’t mean to be as harsh as I was; I just assumed that if I acted bitter towards you maybe my feelings would ease up a little.” She sighed, continuing on. “Every time your name was in the newspaper, I read the article. I always found you intriguing which is why I continued to read about you. The paper painted you as this big evil villain yet your behavior contradicts that. I also never thought you’d be the one who goes to bookstores.”
“Anyways, I’ve tried not to like you. Seeing how I’m your attorney further proves we shouldn’t-“
Y/n was cut off as Jimin crushing his lips against hers. He didn’t know why he did it except for the voice in his telling screaming at him to. Perhaps, deep down inside, he wanted to do this; to hear some kind of verification that he should. His heart began to race at her words; his blood was pumping faster, causing his adrenaline to run. That little voice in his head was all he needed to hear to act on in the moment.
His hands gripped her shirt, pulling her body closer to his but when he noticed that she wasn’t reacting the way he thought she would, Jimin opened his eyes to find y/n already wide and focused on his. Immediately, he let her go and stepped away, thinking he may have crossed the line.
“I’m sorry if I caught you off guard. I-“
Before he could finish, y/n returned the favor and initiated the kiss. This time, she took it even further opening her mouth to feel his tongue. Things only escalated quickly when Jimin picked her, letting her wrap her legs around his slender waist. Her back hit the front door rather harshly but it wasn’t enough to interrupt the pair.
Hungry for more, y/n tore her lips away to kiss down his neck. Her hands gripped in between the buttons on his shirt and ripped it open, roughly pulling it over his shoulders and down his arms. Jimin grabbed the end of her shirt and pulled it over her head and off. The kiss irrupted again as he pushed off the door to carry y/n up to his bedroom.
He turned on and dimmed the lamp as not to disturb the sensual atmosphere they had created. They fell onto his soft plush mattress, where Jimin pulled her body close to his to remove her bra. Once it was discarded, he slowly kissed a trail down her body, using his hands to unfasten her jeans and slip them off her legs. Lying in nothing but panties, y/n rolled over on her stomach; looking back at Jimin in a playful manner. She could see the lust in his eyes as they traced over every inch of her body. She took the time to do the same, letting her eyes roam over his sculptured torso. Thanks to the light, it gave off the effect of making him appear as some sort of powerful God, staring down at her.
Jimin straddled her waist, leaning forward to softly kiss down her spine. Seeing how he got y/n right where he wanted her, he wanted to take his time and not rush a thing. His hands slowly rubbed down her sides, causing y/n to shift slightly; creating friction against his groin.
When his lips made it to her lower back, he gripped the waistband of her panties, pulling them down her legs. He playfully bit her ass cheek, listening as she shrieked with laughter; causing him to chuckle.
“Ass up, Miss Know-it-all.” He commanded in a deep voice, lightly slapping her ass. Y/n complied, lifting her lower half up on her knees. Jimin licked his lips at the sight of her glistening lips. He raised his hand and gently rubbed two fingers in between her folds gathering her juices and rubbing it over her outer pussy lips. Hearing her sweet voice moan his name was like music to his ears and only made his dick stiffer.
Removing his hand, he brought his fingers to his lips and sucked off her wetness. He moaned in approval and decided not to waste any more time and buried his mouth against her pussy. Y/n cried out, arching her back in the air. She spread her legs to feel more of his warm tongue and almost buckled when he found her clit. One of her hands gripped his comforter while the other hand reached around her body, gripped his soft blonde hair, and pulled his face closer to her heat.
“Yes! Oh my God, please don’t stop!” She begged and he easily complied.
Jimin took her clit in between his lips, sucking on the small nub until he felt it grow. He wanted to give her body more than what he was doing but couldn’t due to her position. Grabbing her left leg and hip, Jimin flipped y/n onto her back; catching her by surprise. He pushed her thighs open and down to the bed, nesting his upper body between them. Y/n’s body jerked and she released a series of curses as Jimin ate her pussy more eagerly.
His long tongue roughly licked over her center, separating her lips and occasionally inserting his warm muscle in her walls. Y/n’s hands found his hair again, tightly tangling it around her fingers. Her breathing escalated and her body began to tremble. Y/n was moments away from her orgasm, however, Jimin thought it was the perfect time to pull away.
“Do you recall our conversation earlier?” He asked with a smirk on his face. Y/n could barely lift her head but she did it to give him a glare. She didn’t understand why this was being brought up now while her pleasure was put on pause.
“What about it?”
“I wanted an apology yet what you gave me was anything but that.” His hands rubbing over her dripping pussy, listening to the lewd noises it made. He licked his lips, wanting nothing more but to feast on his meal but he felt as though, putting y/n in her place was more important. “It’s funny but I think you insulted me too. What was it you called me?”
Before y/n could answer, he plunged two of his fingers inside her walls, feeling how tightly it gripped him. She couldn’t answer as nothing but moans was all that came out especially when he began massaging her insides with his fingers.
“A sensitive baby, if I recall correctly.” He answered for her. “Now tell me, does that sound like an apology?”
Y/n shook her head, struggling to find the words. “... No.”
“Don’t you think I deserve a better one?” His pace increased. Finding that spot, he massaged over it; beckoning another orgasm.
She nodded. “I... I’m...”
“You’re what, y/n? Close?”
“Coming!” She groaned, holding on to his wrists.
Just like before Jimin brought her to the edge, only to take it away. He removed his hands from her body completely and sat up on his knees. Y/n lied there breathless, trying to cope with her second orgasm denial and realized she couldn’t compete.
Jimin left her weak that she was willing to give in to his every wish.
“Okay... you win. I’ll give you your apology.”
“It’s about time.”
She took a deep breath. “I’m sorry if I offended you and for calling you a sensitive baby. You’re none of those things...” as she spoke, Jimin took the time to finish undressing out of his clothes. “I’m sorry and I would like it if you accepted my apology.”
Beaming brightly, Jimin knocked her leg back open wide, this time to accommodate his body.
“I do.” Was all he said as he lined his cock up to her entrance and thrust forward, burying himself to the hilt.
“Oh fuck!” Y/n screamed, throwing her head back.
Jimin winced when he felt her nails raking his skin on the side of his waist. He knew she had left a mark but he also didn’t care. She felt so good wrapped around him that nothing was going to make him stop. After making sure y/n was adjusted, Jimin leaned up on his hands and begun rocking his hips into hers, slowly picking up speed.
As sensitive as her body was, y/n couldn’t do anything but hold on for support. He made sure not to come in contact with her swollen clit, wanting her to last longer. When the time came, Jimin wanted them to come together.
He looked down, where they were connected, watching as his cock disappeared from view but he soon wanted more. Needing to feel closer, he laid chest to chest with her, hiding his face in the crevice of her neck. His thrusts became slower and longer, hitting all the spot that made her quiver.
“Jimin,” y/n breathed out. “You feel so good.”
At this admission, he slammed into her harder, causing loud gasps to slip out. Jimin’s hands roughly gripped his bedspread, using it as support as he pounded away at her walls. Y/n was trying her hardest to keep her orgasm at bay but she was losing it fast, especially when he unintentionally rubbed against her clit. Feeling her body go limb while her pussy began to tighten around his cock, made Jimin pick up the pace.
He sat up, spreading her legs as farther apart as they could go and started hammering away. Y/n was unable to keep up and let Jimin claim her body as his. He was fucking her so good that her body couldn’t process the pleasure and begun to shutdown.
“Oh no you don’t.” Jimin grunted.
He quickly pulled her limb figure up and into his arms, holding her close to his body. In this position, Jimin was still able to slowly thrust up while feeling her erratic heart beating next to his. The two of them stayed in place, taking up each other’s space and time. Jimin had come right after y/n but he continued to ride out both of their orgasms until his hips came to a stop. Now all they needed to do was catch their breaths.
His cock slipped from her walls as Y/n fell back against the bed, feeling relaxed and completely sated. Jimin joined her seconds later, lying down next to her. Y/n intertwined their fingers together, pulling him closer. He watched as she placed small soft kisses on his finger tip and smiled.
She sighed, looking up at him. “If you don’t mind my asking, how was the book?” Jimin was completely caught off guard by the question, stumbling over his words. “I-No... surely you know that I didn’t even read it.” He was turning red in the face that it made her laugh.
“Oh relax, Park Jimin. I was just joking with you. I know you haven’t touched one page.” But he only stared at her, wondering how. “Remember, I already knew who you were before we met. I know a lot about you. How do think I knew you wouldn’t read that book? With a job like yours, I’m sure it’s hard to do anything personal.” She smiled, causing Jimin to do the same.
“You are unbelievable.” He groaned, pulling her body closer. “Since you’re Miss Know-it-all, how does it end?”
“Why don’t I get the book and read it to you... unless you have something better to do?” Jimin shook his head. “Absolutely nothing.”
“Good.”
As promised, y/n spend majority of the night reading to Jimin. The remainder was spent either talking or being intimate. When the morning came, y/n awoke; feeling somewhat confused. She, once again, tried to shake her feelings for him. Although she was a defense attorney, he was still a mobster. Their relationship, if they were to have one, could receive backlash from the public. Not to mention, her job could be in jeopardy seeing how Jimin was and could be a potential client if anything were to happen again. Her company had policy against becoming romantically involved with clients. How was she going to explain it if they were to find out? His job title didn’t bother her as much as it should; she would have rather not depended on him and instead, continued support herself. She didn’t like the idea of the man making the money; therefore, he makes the rules. No, she would have rather they supported each other. Y/n fought with herself as she slipped back on her clothes. Jimin wasn’t in bed and she wasn’t sure where he was. Using this as an opportunity to get away, she quietly snuck through his house, making it to the front door until she was startled in place.
“Going so soon?” Jimin questioned her. He was shirtless and his pants were riding low on his hips; showing off his well defined v line. Clearly he caught her just as he finished making them both breakfast. He sat the plates down and walked into the foyer.
“Yes, I have to get back home.”
“Are you sure that’s the reason?”
“Of course it is. Why would you even ask that?”
“Because you were sneaking out like you didn’t want me to see you.” he stated walking even closer.
“So?”
“Come on, y/n! Don’t play with me! If you really had to get home, you would have just said so and not act like a teenager about it.” She looked away, unable to bring herself to meet his gaze. “Talk to me! Is this about what happened between us?”
She huffed. “If you really want to know, then yes!”
“Why?” He asked more quietly.
“We shouldn’t have done what we did. It was wrong on both ends.” Y/n let out a sigh with a scoff. “Even still, I can’t stop thinking about you and what happened last night. I can even go as far as to say I loved it. I’ve never felt so hot and passionate, but now we’re back to reality. You have your job and I have mines, let’s just put this behind us and try to focus on that.”
Without saying another word, Jimin watched her walk out of the door and out of his life. He didn’t want to admit it but he felt highly disappointed as well as angry. He thought for sure, he found the perfect woman to be by his side in the long run. She was strong minded, smart, erotic, and surprisingly caring. And now she was gone. Y/n was gone.
~~~~~
Over the course of the next couple weeks, Jimin found it hard to concentrate on his work. The slightest little things would remind him of y/n and his mind would begin to wander. Wondering what she was up to? Was she busy working another case or just gathering notes in the office? Has she visited the bookstore in hopes that he was there or was it something only he did? Was she thinking of him just as he did her? Even though it felt weird that his feelings were progressing rapidly for her, he tried not to question it. He wanted her, he wanted be with her and in every way possible, and he couldn’t let it go until y/n returned his feelings.
Not being able to take anymore, he pulled up to her house later on that night. Knocking hard on the door, Jimin tried to wait patiently for her to answer.
“Jimin!” The surprise on her face was evident. “What are you doing here?”
Instead of answering, he pushed past her; walking into her house. Y/n shut the door before turning to face him.
“What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you here? I thought we agreed-“
“No! You agreed!” Jimin yelled, running his hands through his hair. He needed to calm down to get his thoughts in order. “I didn’t want this but I stayed away like you wanted and every day, since the last time I saw you, I’ve been tormented with the thoughts of seeing you again.” Y/n remained quiet, just staring at him. Jimin walked closer, grabbing her by her arms.
“Can’t you see, y/n? You’re all I think about and even dream about! It’s almost like I’m chasing a figment of my imagination, like you’re too good to be true. But since this is real and you are real, I realized that I don’t want to be without you. I’ve tried living without you and it hasn’t worked so far and I don’t want to keep trying. Just think it over, maybe you feel the same way.”
Y/n suddenly broke into tears which caught Jimin off guard. This was the first time he’d seen her in this emotional state and it honestly worried him. He quickly pulled her to him, cupping her face in his palms and pressing his forehead against hers. Y/n held onto his arms, almost afraid to let go. Her hands were trembling and for the first time in her life, she didn’t have any control or felt as though she lost it. When she was able to calm down, she found her voice.
“I don’t need to think it over... because I know exactly how you feel.” She admitted. “The moment I left your house, I wanted to run back inside and into your arms. I thought if we were away from each other, all the lustful feelings would go away, but it wasn’t lust. I don’t understand why I feel so strongly towards you and I still don’t, my heart just wants to be near you. It’s so strange but also I’m tired of fighting it.”
Jimin smiled before crushing his lips against hers. The kiss soon became passionate as a combination of two hearts merging into one.
“Does this mean you’re mines?” He asked after breaking away.
Y/n nodded. “But I have one request.”
“Which is?”
“I don’t want us to go public just yet.” She smiled. “I want to be yours... secretly.”
She slowly and softly kissed his lips, not wanting to stop. In fact, y/n didn’t think she could ever get enough of Park Jimin.
E6 @everyone
(From the OC Question List)
(And since this is asking “for everyone”, I’m just gonna go through literally everyone including my sideblog chars so long post ahoy :’D)
Do they enjoy learning? Do they actively seek out sources of self-education?
Daeyona does enjoy learning...if the subject interests her. Best bets are anything involving combat, forging, hunting, or just anything about birds. If she is interested, she’ll happily seek out sources of self-education, yes, when she has the time to do so; her work means that most of her education is self-taught.
Runya is extremely eager to learn anything involving magic, honestly. Especially anything Allagan-related, but that’s mostly because of what his plans currently are; they were, after all, the people most effective at subduing primals. Given that he’s made so many enemies, he makes an effort to self-teach himself anything he can, and if he can’t, then he’ll go even further out of his way to learn from, say, Allagan nodes instead of people. (People are complicated and messy and talk too much.)
Sentinel’s mostly interested in learning to repair anything she can think of--whether it’s clothing or weaponry or even some of the less frustratingly-complex pieces of technology that she’s found. She prefers to learn directly from people, but she’s still willing to go find self-teaching sources if that’s somehow not possible.
All that Thorn is interested in learning is how to kill people better with an axe, straight from other people good at killing people with an axe; as far as she’s concerned, she can learn “something else” once the threat of the Empire and its toadies is dead and gone.
Doe, on the other hand, is actually quite happy to learn literally anything she can get her hands on, in terms of knowledge, though she shows a particular fondness for herbalism. She spends a good deal of time teaching herself about it from the notes of others.
Rose is kind of in the “middle” when it comes to being interested in learning; she’s not opposed to it, but she also is fine with just sticking to what she knows. She views practical experience to be a better teacher than anything she can learn from a book.
Sage, as well, has roughly the same view of things.
Bull, however, is very keenly into self-teaching and learning not just from experience and the world around him, but from any sources he can get his hands on. Due to his profession as the Swarstral’s religious monk, his interests are however fairly limited to magic and anything regarding Halone.
Drawing I made of me and my friend’s catified Stardew Valley ocs taking on the mines! Reblog don’t repost :) [ IMAGE ID: A stylized digital drawing with two cats as the focus. The one on the left is crouching down with her tail in the air and has her ears flat. Her fur is light brown and she has siamese-like markings in other shades of brown. She has a small sword in her mouth and looks angry. The cat on the right is standing up straight in a fighting pose with a lower back end. This cat has fur in shades of ebony black but has similar patterns to the brown cat. This cat has a small cutlass in their mouth and also looks angry. On the left side of the foreground there is a green slime. You can’t see it’s face. On the right side of the foreground there is an amethyst node. In the left background there is a torch that appears to be the light source for the piece. In the right background there is a piece of quartz and another green slime, this time facing outwards. Both cats are harshly lightened in yellow and softly shaded in blue. The light is coming from the torch in the background. The background is a pattern of brown circles made to look like the walls of a mine. ] (My first image ID, if you have any advice please lmk)
The Cluster Logging Operator creates and manages the components of the logging stack in your OpenShift or OKD 4.x cluster. Cluster logging is used to aggregate all the logs from your OpenShift Container Platform cluster, such as application container logs, node system logs, audit logs, and so forth. In this article we will install the Logging Operator and create a Cluster Logging Custom Resource (CR) to schedule cluster logging pods and other resources necessary to support cluster logging. By using an operator, the initial deployment, upgrades, and maintenance of the cluster logging is the responsibility of Operator and not SysAdmin work. Install Cluster Logging Operator on OpenShift / OKD 4.x The default Cluster Logging Custom Resource (CR) is named instance. This CR can be modified to define a complete cluster logging deployment that includes all the components of the logging stack to collect, store and visualize logs. The Cluster Logging Operator watches the ClusterLogging Custom Resource and adjusts the logging deployment accordingly. We will be performing the deployments from the command line interface. The focus of this article is the Log collection part. We will have other articles explaining Logs storage and visualization. Step 1: Create Operators namespace We will create a Namespace called openshift-logging for the Logging operator. Create a new object YAML file for namespace creation: cat ocp_cluster_logging_namespace.yaml apiVersion: v1 kind: Namespace metadata: name: openshift-logging annotations: openshift.io/node-selector: "" labels: openshift.io/cluster-logging: "true" openshift.io/cluster-monitoring: "true" EOF Apply the file for actual namespace creation. oc apply -f ocp_cluster_logging_namespace.yaml Step 2: Create OperatorGroup object Next is the installation of Cluster Logging Operator. Create an OperatorGroup object YAML by running the following commands. cat cluster-logging-operatorgroup.yaml apiVersion: operators.coreos.com/v1 kind: OperatorGroup metadata: name: cluster-logging namespace: openshift-logging spec: targetNamespaces: - openshift-logging EOF Create the OperatorGroup object: oc apply -f cluster-logging-operatorgroup.yaml Step 3: Subscribe a Namespace to the Cluster Logging Operator. We need to subscribe a Namespace to the Cluster Logging Operator. But first create a Subscription object YAML file. cat cluster-logging-sub.yaml apiVersion: operators.coreos.com/v1alpha1 kind: Subscription metadata: name: cluster-logging namespace: openshift-logging spec: channel: "4.4" # Set Channel name: cluster-logging source: redhat-operators sourceNamespace: openshift-marketplace EOF Create the Subscription object which deploys the Cluster Logging Operator the openshift-logging Namespace: oc apply -f cluster-logging-sub.yaml Verify installation: $ oc get csv -n openshift-logging NAME DISPLAY VERSION REPLACES PHASE clusterlogging.4.4.0-202009161309.p0 Cluster Logging 4.4.0-202009161309.p0 Succeeded elasticsearch-operator.4.4.0-202009161309.p0 Elasticsearch Operator 4.4.0-202009161309.p0 elasticsearch-operator.4.4.0-202009041255.p0 Succeeded Step 4: Create a Cluster Logging instance Create an instance object YAML file for the Cluster Logging Operator: cat cluster-logging-instance.yaml apiVersion: "logging.openshift.io/v1" kind: "ClusterLogging" metadata: name: "instance" namespace: "openshift-logging" spec: managementState: "Managed" curation: type: "curator" curator: schedule: "30 3 * * *" collection: logs: type: "fluentd" fluentd: EOF Create the Logging instance: oc apply -f cluster-logging-instance.yaml Check pods running after some minutes.
$ oc get pods -n openshift-logging NAME READY STATUS RESTARTS AGE cluster-logging-operator-f7574655b-mjj9x 1/1 Running 0 73m fluentd-57d6h 1/1 Running 0 36s fluentd-dfvdc 1/1 Running 0 36s fluentd-j7xs8 1/1 Running 0 36s fluentd-ss5wr 1/1 Running 0 36s fluentd-tbg4c 1/1 Running 0 36s fluentd-tzjtg 1/1 Running 0 36s fluentd-v9xz9 1/1 Running 0 36s fluentd-vjpqp 1/1 Running 0 36s fluentd-z7vzf 1/1 Running 0 36s In our next article we will cover how you can send logs on OpenShift Cluster to an external Splunk and ElasticSearch Logging setups. In the meantime check out other articles we have on OpenShift.
