kaiba and atem are both characters who have assumed the "identity" (name, values, certain attitudes) of others - gozaburo and yuugi respectively. the key difference is that for kaiba this "recreation of the self as the other" was abusive, traumatizing, and by force, with his personhood denied, while for atem, it's a granting OF personhood ("if you don't have your own name or memories, you can have mine"). In a certain way, both are acts of survival, and both gozaburo and yuugi act as "north stars" for the characters -- although, again, the main difference is that kaiba is trying to tear his north star out of the fucking sky.

one can question the "healthiness" of atem adopting yuugi's identity (and i do) -- it means he doesn't understand his own desires or needs, leading to the extremely viable possibility that he did not want to go through with the ceremonial duel (which is a reading of the text i really like) -- but for the most part, it helps him maneuver through and understand the world he finds himself in. It gives him relationships and purpose.

all of this leads to fun questions that i would like to explore/see explored more in fic: how does kaiba, having had his soul consumed and transformed, feel about tying himself to another person? does he feel the risk of a new transformation -- "if i'm not the person they want me to be, will they punish me?" and how does atem come to understand his own desires and his own self, separate from yuugi? and what are they? and having almost literally been someone else, how does he deal with the fundamental unknowability of the lover? having been reflections of other people, how do they break out of the mirror and become themselves?

I drew this at the small edge of my page knowing very well that it would lead to cutoffs and overlap with other sketches because I really do feel more comfortable doing certain positions like this. It just makes it hard to get a snap of them with a "complete" feel.

In a majority of my previous works focusing on Juno's eyes, they were slightly relaxed, as he had just woken up while also going along with his typical calmness. But I've also tried (and failed many times) to see how they would look when they're totally open-- this is excluding the shots where he is straight-up trying to kill someone. :)

In this context, Juno is activated but not totally working if that makes sense? As you may kinda make it out, he isn't upright, so his whole body isn't there either. I was going for something "still, blank, empty".

Destiel AU idea (again)

Dean is searching for a flat because he recently divorced Lisa. He wants one that is big and comfortable enough to welcome his children, Ben and Emma. It's been months since he started searching for one. Fortunately, Lisa is understanding enough to let him stay in their old house until he finds something.

They actually aren't in a hard and conflicted relationship right now, their marriage stopped because there wasn't love between them anymore. They still care about each other.

Dean knew he wasn't in love with Lisa anymore and he suspected the same for Lisa, but he was fine with it. Lisa though thought otherwise. She asked for divorce because she said that they both deserved to find love and be loved.

So, Dean is doing his umpteenth visit for a flat that he spotted on Internet. This one seems really nice and clean, his children will be able to have their own rooms. And the kitchen looks awesome with enough place for him to cook.

The real estate agent who give him the tour of the flat isn't bad either. He has blue eyes, which looks surreal, long and dark eyelashes that match his hair and his growing beard. Dean listens to him attentively and can't help but look right into his eyes when he speaks. Dean wants to confide in him and he does that naturally actually.

He tells him that he is sick to search for a home for his family. It's been months, and he's exhausted to be disappointed each time he thinks he found something. But at the same time, he wants his children to feel good in that new home so he is demanding.

That real estate agent, Castiel, is compassionate and doesn't understand why Dean doesn't find one with his solid, complete application. Castiel tells Dean that maybe it's because others real estate agents are struggling right now. There's a lot of people searching for a new home at this time of the year, so a lot of work. Castiel admits that he, himself, is buried in work all day long.

He works 6 days a week constantly. Since Dean is really attentive to what the man in front of him says, he notices that Castiel doesn't seem to have someone in his life to get back to. So, he goes for it. He asks Castiel if he wants to go and get a drink with him once they have finished the tour.

Castiel seems surprised by the offer and looks away. He fumbles with his pen and papers and puts them on the kitchen counter. He takes a deep breath. So, Dean fears his answer.

"Are you asking me on a d-" Castiel starts asking hesitantly.

"Yes." Dean cuts him, because he somehow fears that word. It sounds too official and he's still living with his ex. Plus, it's been a while for him.

"O - okay. Yeah." Castiel agrees, and neither of them is able to look at the other.

Seriously, things turn from funny & exciting to vengeful and proud really fast, like if this was a different situation and you were a man, you'd find your testes tied into a bowtie as a reward for this :( But because you're his silly little angel and he's about to bone you, he just settles for wrestling the bottle away from you.

Be prepared to run because you're about to get a taste of your own medicine! And when he gets those stupid clothes off you, he's not going to be that gentle with his dick either >:(

You can sob all you want and threaten to tell the Colonel about this but oddly enough, you still let him carry you inside, undress you, and give you a nice, hot bath. There now, that wasn't so bad, was it? Now how about you return the favour and give him a good wash, hmm...? I feel alot of reductive and counter intuitive mechanics in Fire Emblem are still in the series because they've been present since the first Fire Emblem game and Intelligent Systems is too afraid to change them.

Take Armored classes always having lower movement than other footies in every game, even Engage, despite this being counterintuitive to their role as frontline tanks and already having too many disadvantages.

Fire Emblem continues to do this because it was done by Kaga, even though it doesn't make sense, especially when you're trying to make all classes balanced.

Tag this in gameplay takes and Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon And the Blade of Light.

This is the memory Rick and jer anon back because I just saw your response and I got a really good idea

What if there was a moment where Jerry got hurt and knocked out while the family is in danger and memory Rick, somehow finding a way to take over, decides to pilot for a bit to help distract whoever it is that's attacking?

Also Jerry having the rolly Polly thing where he rolls up into a ball when he's upset maybe it upgrades when memory Rick is in control so now it doesn't just defend, it can attack.

So basically a spiker ball?? Idk but I think it'd be cool.

oh my god, I like the idea of memory-person piloting the body like a mecha lol that would be a really cool way to bring memoRick back again in later seasons. just when we thought we would never see him again, he showed up! (also, I was wondering if memoRick has any influence on Jerry’s behavior during his stay, but it most likely does not?)

and maybe after the situation, if memoRick grows more comfortable being in Jerry’s mind, they could switch their minds for fun? taking turns to pilot Jerry. and annoying Rick with it lol spiky bug roll ball….. for some reason, I think it would be like Sonic speeding up-- just ramp him into a person. (I think that’d be super cool) though I think you could still use his original form as a weapon. Since those shells are impossible to break (and they look pretty heavy), if you can lift him up, you can just smash someone with that too--
