This is a livable space.#I've helped out friends and family who were struggling and let me just say...I have seen some pretty dysfunctional living spaces.#Hell I've *lived* in some very dysfunctional living spaces.#Hording dishes under the bed was always something that grossed me out but it's unfortunately something I've seen people do way too often.#The horror everyone has upon walking into WWX's 'living' set up is so consistently 'Mate how are you living like this?'#It's honestly so integral to me that WWX's 'just left home for the first time' house/room be a depression/dysfunction pit.#You can learn a lot about someon's state of mind from how they keep their living space...and this guy is oozing 'deep depression'.#I don't think he's eaten anything but foods that classify as a struggle meal in a year.#Everyone is trying to stage an intervention but he just isn't in a good enough place to help himself.#By the way: I want to steer away from shaming people who have messy homes/rooms because life *does* hit hard sometimes.#My love language is coming into your home to do your dishes and do some housework. Don't apologize for the mess king.#Nothing could top some of the places I've had to help my older siblings out of.#I'd be okay with my flatmate having a severed limb and a blood pool at this point.#As long as he lets me take out the dishes from under the bed - We're good! My standards are so low at this point.

Was pondering how Mark’s rigid ass mask/lens is prob a Budget Thing (since squishy, bendy lens are pretty much a mandate for all hero animated series, like JL, BTAS, TNBA, Spider-Man, etc), and then I was slapped with a vision of Mark in a more JL/BTAS-ish style and I had to see it through. I am a genius btw.
#i had MANY thoughts while drawing my brain melted while posting so if ya have questions send 'em / ask 'em#but rapid fire: leans more into nightwing's look b/c bro's name is legit grayson + moves away from his father's sidekick/protege +#and legit has a blue and black outfit. that is soooo winking at robin (dick grayson specifically)#mark has a more casual / athletic fit and tried to keep his usual kicked puppy expression / mood#which then contrasts his more emotional (hero) side he acts upon when he's suited up as ANOTHER wink to the whole dual persona#mark does it unintentionally as he's eager to prove himself as invincible and thus more emotional/confidential/eager + feels lackluster#as just mark grayson.#but it's such a comic book trope it's interesting el show ignores the potential stakes for that + prob cause they dont focus on#villains#mark has debbie's cheek bones + pearls both so he skip the whole copy paste design tactic cartoons annoyingly use + wink at batman w/ pearl#nolan wears pink and debbie wears green b/c they have conflicting views on raising Mark but (used to?) stand on a somewhat#united front by having same collared shirt. but mark leans more on debbie's stuff visually w/ cooler colors + white shirt underneath#mark keeps his cape as another wink/nod at robins (tim drake TNBS specifically) which mimics his Dad + kid-like eagerness for hero stuff#which he gets rid off when he goes blue/black suit arc (cough cough nightwing looking ass) so just leaned MORE into it#mark has a heart on his chest because he's TRYING to do what he think he's best + emotional asf#lens/goggles are diff to keep the audiences' eye back at HIS eyes + look more ominous and predatory which the black/blue combo#already COULD do in canon but in show its just pallete swapped which ruins the more ominious look it probably intended#and doesnt really scream “OH NO! THERE'S NO GOLD! A BUNCH OF MIKES!!!!!!! and by Mikes, I mean mostly my design differences between Battat and most regular Pippins.
I drew all of this on a plane, and I always feel like I'm on a time crunch on flights, so things like "Battat hates everyone!!!" are true but only shown at face value. I would write more about it but these are just thought dumps!!! Also I'm tired. There is a chance I'll make a textpost about it haha

City of Tears. But Mini.
I wanted to make an atmospheric art piece with Dewi. And the City of Tears is one of the most sorrowing, beautiful, and grand places to do that. This is a lot of firsts for me regarding the architecture and lighting. The shadows cover a lot, and it may have been too much. I'm happy with how it turned out tho.
No idea how Dewi found his way into the City. Probably magic. Probably plot too :) But oh boy, he is experiencing childlike wonder in his raincoat!
This is a better show of the line detail I needlessly covered up in the final lol
#I love the idea that Ghost's resting spot is always on Dewi's hat. It's a great vantage point for spotting potential threats!#Quirrel doesnt mind the rain. I had a cute interaction with my son that I wanted to offer as a possible idea for a comic about Anya! He has been interested lately in learning the male and female names of animals, asking me "what's a girl chicken called? what's a girl lion called?" and he finally got to "what's a girl dog called?" And my husband and I kept insisting there is no name for a girl dog, it's just a dog. But he knew something was up from the way I laughed so he kept asking. And finally I said "a girl dog is a dogina." And he bought it. Now, if it were Anya, she definitely wouldn't have bought it! But I can also imagine Franky or someone answering her sarcastically "a girl dog is called a Fiona" LOL. Anyway, just a fun idea along the lines of that early comic you drew of the "motherfucker doesn't start with a b" concept which I LOVED.
i didnt bring franky or fiona into this, but it also turned out lowkey sad 😭😭😭 i had no idea where it was going till it was too late. Anyways. Dogina is funny, thank you for the idea LMAO
