Silver and Blaze’s story in 06 is a retelling of the Tanabata fairy tale so Blaze comes from her dimension(Blaze's dimension representing Vega and Silver's future representing Altair. the stars separated by the Milky Way) and instantly forms a bond with Silver before they’re separated at the end of Silver’s story

because of 06's ending Silver’s future was restored but he doesn’t remember how(he doesn’t remember 06). Silver still has his backstory and everything from before Sonic 06 but doesn't remember the events of the game(unless ESP Silver is real)

after 06 Silver gets to live in the peaceful future he always wanted with blue skies and smiles and he thinks Sonic’s time is dated(unless ESP Silver is a real thing then 06 and Rivals Silver are different characters and things would be even more confusing)

Nikopulous Metal and Titanium Sonic! Titanium Sonic was created when Metal failed time and time again to defeat Sonic. Titan was the one who managed to kill the blue blur, causing Metal to be scrapped and forgotten. With the real Sonic gone in this universe, Metal reversed his programming and became him. So while Titan is just a mindless soldier like all of Robotnik's other creations, Metal is an anti-hero trying to replace the hero that once was.

Sonic Movie 4 theory: Who created the Metal Sonics.

The appearance of a whole army of Metal Sonics in the post credits scene raised a lot of questions. Mainly, who built them? Was it Eggman? Stone? And where did they come from?

The popular theory right now is that they were sent from the future to kill Sonic, since they materialize in a way that's reminiscent of "Terminator". It's not the first time Metal Sonic is associated with time travel, after all.

This could tie into the biggest lingering plot thread from Sonic 3 I haven't seen anyone mention: the future of GUN.

Sonic's relationship with GUN after the movie is in a bad place: Walters, the only person keeping the organization from going after the aliens, is gone and might get replaced by General Rockwell who has a massive grudge against them.

Not to mention, Rockwell still believes Team Sonic was responsible for what happened to Walters, attemping to steal the Eclipse Cannon, and likely the moon being destroyed.

What happened was much bigger than San Francisco, GUN can't simply hide the truth from the public this time. So what do they do? They build an army of robot soldiers meant to protect humanity from the alien threat (like the Sentinels from X-Men).

Until it backfires and the Metal Sonics either rebel or are hijacked by someone, leading to a takeover of Earth and potentially other planets as well. The only one keeping them at bay is Earth's hero, Sonic.

So, in a Terminator-esque setup, a group of Metal Sonics are sent back in time to destroy Sonic before he can pose a threat...but a young girl from the resistance, who grew up having a deep admiration for Sonic's legend, also goes back to stop them.

Oh boy! Silver time!!!

I decided to make a little ref sheet for my AU's Silver.

Silver's personality is outgoing, bubbly, kind, gentle, and optimistic! He outwardly shows that he's reliable and will always be there to help save the day. However, internally, this hedgehog needs a hug. He may be soft and sweet to others, but he isn't so kind to himself. His whole life he's been forced to stay calm because of his overwhelming powers. One wrong move, one stray negative emotion, one misguided step, and he could level an entire city with it.

Silver is extremely powerful. He is the future's protector, and in a reality where Sonic is no longer amongst the living, the balance of nature has had to create a new protector. Over the years there has been other protectors, but Silver is by far the most powerful. Because of this, Silver has to constantly inhibit his powers lest he destroy a building because of a minor inconvenience.

Repressing his emotions has led Silver to have some memory issues, and he often trails off when he speaks. Silver almost never frowns, even when he's upset out of the fear of his own strength if he shows even the slightest bit of negative emotion.

Silver himself is 1/4th Komodo dragon, the rest is pure hedgehog. Generations later, Silver shows signs from that distant Komodo ancestor. Because of this, Silver has reptilian pupils, a slightly longer tail than average, brownish sclera, longer claws than average, larger K9s than average, a somewhat forked tongue, and most importantly, Silver is venomous.

Silver's emotional dilemma as well as his venom dilemma has led him to stray away from making too many connections. He refuses to share food/drinks with others out of the possibility of killing them accidentally. Silver himself is a soft, gentle creature that yerns of close relationships, but the fear of hurting others has made the hedgehog weary of such things.

METILVER SECTION:

He has a mini phobia of kisses that he eventually gets over because of Metal and the robot's inability to die from his venom because he isn't technically organic.

Metal calls Silver "Star" "My Star" or "Starboy" because whenever Silver uses his abilities, his eyes remind him of a setting sun.

The First Attempted Kiss:

One day, Metal noticed Silver was a bit overworked and sort of sad, and wanted to cheer him up. He searched the web on ways to make a person you were interested in happy, and came to the silly conclusion that a little kiss would help Silver feel better. Metal approached Silver silently and gently pulled him in, leaning in to press the smooth steel of his muzzle against the white hedgehogs. Metal had not expected Silver to become distressed by his advances. Silver had been under the foolish impression that a little kiss could kill the robot, but nonetheless, Metal respected his boundaries.

Completed my Metal Breakers AU's version of Nine, AKA the Chaos King. also his son Bullet Prower, named after his universe's version of Sonic.

The more I thought about it, the more I fell in love with the idea of Nine having a son. He's very obviously based on Skye from the Archie comics, but I decided to name him after Nine's version of Sonic since this Nine had a Sonic, and I decided Bullet sounded like a fitting name for a New Yoke version of Sonic.

As for Nine's wife, yeah, I decided she'd be dead; I ended up liking the idea of events going like this. Bullet dies to the Chaos Council; Nine gets revenge after discovering the Paradox Prism Shard; he takes over the world in the resulting power vacuum to create order, then later he gets married, starts feeling happier, but then an assassin intending to kill him accidentally kills his wife, and Nine becomes extra strict on the rest of the world. Who's Nine's wife? I have no clue. I haven't decided, plus she's dead, so I don't really have to.

also I decided on how Nine's mechanical tails work here, they're energy based constructs he creates using prism energy so he just summons them out of thin air.

Idea for Sonic Movie 4

Okay, so... I may have a potential plot for the fourth movie... There's likely some holes in the idea but it's been running through my head since watching the 3rd film's end credits, so... you know enjoy!

It's CD and Heroes inspired.

Imagine, if you will with me, that Amy and Metal Sonic come from a BAD FUTURE.

In the original timeline, sometime after the 3rd film, Sonic meets Amy and they go on an adventure to save her home, Little Planet, from corruption. Only, while there, Sonic gets captured/lost/tragically injured leaving Amy alone. Metal Sonic is created by the evil powers that be on Little Planet (not Eggman; some original entity that wants to turn everything living into machinery) in mock of the hero. Having lost Sonic, Amy gathers up special gems that exist on Little Planet, the time stones, and travels back in time to find Sonic before their adventure, hoping to stop all this before it can begin. Metal Sonic follows her.

Cut to the end credit scene in 3. Amy tells Sonic she has come to help him stop Metal Sonic from conquering his world and her home if not the rest of the galaxy. She's very familiar with him, but doesn't explain why, leaving Sonic uncomfortable and untrusting. This references back to her clinginess in her original depiction, while it being more about the fact that she knew and lost him than a lovesick obsession. Sonic's awkwardness isn't because he finds her annoying. There's something she's not telling him.

The movie follows Amy and Team Sonic attempting to stop this army of Metal Sonic's from conquering the planet by finding their leader. Here, we do a fake-out. It's Eggman! He's somehow back from the dead! Again! He was working with the entity on Little Planet who found him after he was launched into space! Only, no. He's not. This is NEO Metal Sonic, the original Metal Amy encounter and leader of the others whom he created himself. Just like in Heroes he wants Sonic and Shadow's bio-data so he can become Metal Overlord and take over. Shadow would rejoin everyone else through NEO Metal Sonic finding and targeting him just as he did with Sonic. For some reason, NEO seems to have an affinity for Amy. Sonic's suspicions are raised further.

Sometime in the Third Act, Neo Metal Sonic taunts Sonic by asking him if Amy has told him his bleak future. This prompts Sonic to begin drilling Amy about what happened. This is when she explains herself in full. Only there is an element they are both missing. Amy thought Sonic was killed, kidnapped, or worse...

In actuality the evil on Little Planet MADE him into Metal Sonic, corrupting him like it did the planet. NEO Metal is her original Sonic. He's angry for being abandoned, angry at being replaced. Angry that he'll never get to be with his family again. His mind is twisted by the machinery he is made of now, but he is still the REAL SONIC.

The final battle would be against Metal Overlord. They'd beat him bad. He wouldn't be dead and gone at the end. Sonic would want to redeem him. After all, Metal Sonic is a version of him. Back in his base form, the original Metal Sonic would run off. Or, maybe, Tails would power him off and keep him in their tool shed. Maybe hope there would be a way to restore him back to normal, but the chance is slim.

The last step would be to head to Little Planet. Sonic, Amy, and co. would go to the planet's past using the time stones to put the kibosh on the takeover before it can really begin (just like in CD!)

Just when they return to the present, thinking time is fixed, a certain time traveler shows up to tell them it's not!

Averell and Joe Dalton (Lucky Luke) -- Gigantism and dwarfism. The Daltons are my favorite characters and Joe and Averell definitely stand out the most to me. I love how Joe doesn't take shit from anyone, and I love how Averell has a more laid-back personality than his brothers. They compliment each other in that way.

Thomas Gotze (Shed 17, Project G1) -- Mobility Aid, chronic and complex health problems. Nothing but respect for MY president. The Shed 17 series has strong themes of disability and the brutality that stems from judging people by their "usefulness" (if I'm interpreting it right). I can't help but sympathize with Thomas' rage in the end.

Bunnie Rabbot (Sonic the Hedgehog) -- Amputee (kind of), prosthetic user. One of my favorite Satam characters! Bunnie's robotic limbs may be stronger than her flesh arm, but they also give her unique challenges. At least once, her robot arm is shown falling off in the animated series, and her limbs require maintenance. In the comic series she has specific vulnerabilities too: in one issue, her metal limbs are used against her when she's trapped to a magnet. I think Bunnie's struggles set her apart from others with the "super-powered prosthetic" trope, and make her seem more real and grounded as a character.

David Hyde/Black Manta (DC comics, Aquaman) -- Autism. As an autistic person, I really like the idea that trying to "cure" his autism was an inherently traumatizing experience that set him on his path towards villainy. Let me be clear, I sympathize with other autistic people who want to reduce their symptoms or even want to cure their own autism. The people experimenting on David were doing him no favors, though. They were trying to create a "normal" abled person whether he liked it or not, and as a result, he had to survive their attempt to kill the autistic person he was.

It also is not right to say someone that is living breathing and passionate about what they believe in is a “poser” or has evil intentions. The amount of times I have been told that I am not really a feminist or that I’m sexist pisses me off, I already don’t like it when people assume. Hey Fern, quick question that has been brewing on my mind after reading your “Born to fail” webcomic: How exactly did the Egghead perish? Sorry if that has been answered already.

i left it the details of eggman's death fairly ambiguous because when i wrote that comic, i honestly didn't really know how he died. despite his death being the event that leads to the final comic, it's not really what that comic was about. all that mattered was that he was finally, truly gone - i didn't really care about the specifics.

at this point though, i have a general idea of the events i think led to his death, as well as the individual(s) that could be held responsible for it. however, i kinda don't want to give a solid answer for who or what killed eggman because i think it's more interesting for people to come to their own conclusions.

there are a few pieces that are set up in the comic you can play with to create your own version of the story: 1. at least one large egg carrier/egg fleet ship crashed, as seen in one of the backgrounds. 2. sonic was there, and ended up with eggman's goggles. 3. metal was there, and could not (or did not) save eggman.

⚠️🚨Attention! Sonic Movie 3 spoilers ahead!🚨⚠️

I just had an epiphany!!

After seeing the movie the first time, I started to think that maybe Metal Sonic and Amy both came from the future, and with all the new scrapped ideas from the concept art, that theory sounds more and more possible.

So what if the Eclipse Cannon didn't kill Robotnik, and instead he got transported to the future where he restarts his reing of terror? Then he creates Metal Sonic and sends him to the past to kill the teen version of Sonic when he's alone (the mid-credits scene).

And what if part of the movie is Team Sonic (with Amy) following Metal thought time? Like, since the first try of killing Sonic was unsuccessful, Metal just keeps traveling backwards in time so he could try to destroy past and less experienced versions of Sonic. And what if he travels back in time during the time Sonic was most vulnerable and alone: the day he was sent to Earth by Longclaw? Obviously, Team Sonic would defeat Metal, but imagine if Baby Sonic finds his older version after that? I've pictured a scenario where Sonic comforts his past self and before departing, they both hug.

Oh, fuck, I want to write all of this! AAAAAAAAAAAAA

alright, so while as of writing this post I don’t have any idea how the whole thing starts, like where it came from and whatnot, I do have a general gist of how it works: Basically it’s like an actual virus and sticks to cells in the body and forces it to create a massive surplus of ink, dissolving the skin and frying the brain a little. By the end of the process they’re just a semi-sentient pile of goo that’s only still mostly bipedal because the soul/will are technically still intact in there, they just can’t control the body’s actions. What is controlling them, then? The virus itself, and it’s telling them to consume and infect other inkfish to spread the virus around. It’s spread through infected ink getting into the body, either by biting, scratching, or just an inconveniently placed papercut and ink puddle.

The first “stage” of infection almost barely counts, but they are still infected and contagious. It starts when contact with infected ink is made, the body starts bleeding without stopping and other openings in the skin start appearing. Trying to bandage these won’t really work, as they’ll just bleed through them.

The second stage is where things start really going south. More openings appear as the skin destabilizes and deteriorates, taking anything else ink-soluble with it, such as gear for turf wars. Stuff like their fingers start melding together as well as everything breaks down. The virus starts taking control over their mind, they become apathetic and only driven by the urge to infect more. This is considered by most as the “point of no return”, though technically, as no cure has been found, getting got in the first place is that point.

The third stage is where most people stop. At this point, they are just ink with a vague memory of what they were holding them together. Very apathetic and slow moving, but can and will be called to action by the more aggressive next stage or if you’re a non-infected inkfish in their immediate vicinity. As they’re entirely ink at this point, touching literally anywhere on their body will get you infected. They’re also just constantly gooping ink, so they’re followed around by a small puddle of it. They can speak, but generally don't aside from one word sentences. This stage has been nicknamed “zombie” as it’s very reminiscent of one.

The fourth and final stage is the most aggressive, actively hunting for uninfected victims. They frequently exercise a small amount of control over nearby infected, causing them to hoard up on someone, shove down doors, etc. They can also control the ink constituting their body, adding limbs, changing size, stuff like that. The only real limitation is they need to be the same volume of ink, but they can add to that volume by absorbing other infected or even uninfected ink. They can speak in fuller sentences, but still pretty basic for the most part(absorbing more inkfish can actually help with this because more brains).

It should hopefully be pretty obvious, but this cannot affect any non-ink-based creature, so characters like Sheldon would be immune, as would any Salmonid. They can and will be attacked and killed, but they cannot get infected themselves. It also, like inkfish normally do, dissolves in water, though that will kill the entire body and leave the soul without a vessel, meaning they will not be able to come back.

hello! this is a follow-up to my previous analysis post i made about why silver's time traveling is so weird.

everything i said in that post still applies, but upon looking at things closer (and creating an entire timeline map), i came to the realization that sonic forces actually kind of singlehandedly ruined everything. but hey what's new amiright

in all seriousness though, creating this timeline map helped me better visualize just what the hell is going on with silver's time traveling and various futures, and i hope it's able to do the same for you all as well! (full analysis under the cut)

EDIT: i sort of forgot to take into account that sonic rivals and especially sonic rivals 2 DO seem to imply that silver's future is currently bad, though it's not stated outright. 06 also IMPLIES that silver's future is good at the end but it's not actually stated/shown to be the case. so in that case, it'd be future is still bad after 06 -> thus future is bad in rivals 1+2 -> rivals 2's resolution causes the good future mentioned in sonic colors ds. even in this scenario, it'd still be forces' fault for making the future bad again, but it wasn't AS crystal clear before forces as i may have originally made it seem like in this post. live and learn lol

so, let me explain what all this means lol (using different versions of this map)

silver is born into a timeline that's basically the bad ending of sonic 06 - where sonic is killed, elise cries, and iblis is unleashed, destroying the world. this is where silver starts:

the events of sonic 06 create a new timeline where solaris is never split into iblis and mephiles. thus iblis is never created and never destroys the world, causing silver to return to a future where everything is good.

silver starts in the 06 bad ending timeline, but he returns to the future of the new 06 good ending timeline, AKA the canon timeline:

this is where he remained for a WHILE, and where he should have remained. in all games between 06 and forces, the status of silver's future is either not mentioned, or is explicitly stated to be the good future. (specifically in colors ds)

so for a while, it was pretty simple and actually made sense. silver went from the 06 bad ending timeline, to the 06 good (canon) ending timeline, and then stayed there ever since. everything was fine. we could've just left it like this.

but then, sonic GOD DAMN forces decided to mess ALL THIS UP.

because when silver shows up for the events of forces, it's because his future... is taken over and polluted by eggman. as a result of forces. which doesn't make sense ANY way you cut it.

whether silver lived in a timeline where forces ended good or bad, EITHER WAY the events of sonic forces HAVE ALREADY HAPPENED. THEY SHOULD NOT CAUSE SILVER'S FUTURE TO ACTIVELY CHANGE BEFORE HIS EYES. THAT'S NOT HOW TIME WORKS

so because of forces, we then get this incredibly weird jump where silver LEAVES the canon good future... and goes to a random non-canon, bad ending timeline. for some reason:

from there, it's a bit more straight-forward. sonic forces happens and when silver goes back to his future, it's no longer the bad ending of forces, but the bad ending of the metal virus arc:

thus, silver goes back to the present to help stop that. the metal virus is eradicated, and we are EXPLICITLY shown that this is what directly causes silver's future to be saved:

and for now that hasn't changed. (and god willing, it never will)

ever since the end of the metal virus arc, silver's future is a good one and he's just been hanging out in the present, freaking out about not having a purpose anymore.

the literal SINGLE problem with all this is that silver was IN the good future before, but got yoinked OUT of it for some reason.

if after 06, he hadn't returned to a good future, but rather the bad ending future of sonic forces, then that would have made sense! that's the next point in the timeline where things can split off.

he fixes one problem, but it doesn't save the future. now the future is just ruined by something else. so then he has to go fix the next problem, and then the next, etc. etc.

that would've, y'know, made sense.

but you wanna know what's even more aggravating? they could've STILL done what they did with forces without changing silver's future!

it would've been so easy to have silver, in his good future, realize (through history books or something) that there is a point in the past where eggman almost fully takes over, and decide to time travel back to that point to make sure that things go as they're supposed to.

that would've made so much more sense! this goes back to the quirk of silver's time traveling that i pointed out in my first post, which is that silver tends to time travel to change the future, rather than make sure that the future happens the way it should (like a lot of other time travel stories do)

at this point however, silver's future IS capable of somehow changing at will. and i think there's really only two options to fix this.

the first and easiest is to just retcon stuff. either retcon silver's good future after 06, or retcon the forces + idw stuff about his future changing. this would be the simplest option i think.

the other is to try and come up with an explanation for silver being plucked out of his good future and shoved into other bad ending futures. i think it IS possible but it would still be incredibly convoluted.

i think you could spin it so rather than the good future becoming bad, it's actually just silver specifically as a person being transported from the good future to the bad future timeline. as to why, maybe whatever force sends him to time travel wants to... show him the consequences of that "canon event" getting messed up?

like, he's supposed to make sure that things go as they should for their good future to exist. and in order to make him understand why he needs to do this, he's like - shown a vision of what could happen if he doesn't? by him being transported to that bad ending timeline?

in all honesty, i really don't see a clean, easy way of explaining everything in one neat little package without retconning anything.

either things get way more convoluted and stupid, or things get retconned. and i dont know about you, but i would much rather take the latter. even if retcons can be frustrating, i feel like it's way better than the alternative.

but idk, what do you think? did any of this make sense? i hope it did. i quite like my silly little map.

It’s very hilarious that it is metal sonic that gets the romantic seeming concepts because he’s the last kind of character that you’d expect to get these kind of concepts (literally the murderous robotic copy of sonic that utterly hates him) and it’s not with any of sonic’s love interests especially Amy lol “Oh there’s a sonic series where sonic and another character shares a link bond to where they think and feel everything” “So it is a romance with him and his love interest?” “No he shares the link bond with the robotic copy of himself that wants to kill him”

It's honestly hilarious because Metal Sonic keeps getting himself into these gay/romantic scenarios despite being a literal killer robot.

-The soul link from the OVA. Feeling everything the other feels (Even arousal! I'm not kidding. I couldn't make this up if I tried)

-Being powered by what is essentially libido according to the original Japanese manual

-Amy reading her fortune and it saying she'd meet the love of her life on little Planet, meaning it's either Sonic or Metal Sonic.

-That one Mania short where Amy helps Metal return to Eggman, and she gives him a cute bow and a flower.

-Metal Sonic ripping the heart out of his chest to give to Shadow (Again, I couldn't make this up if I tried. Shadow even tells Metal Sonic NOT to destroy himself. Because they're gay your honor)

-Mecha Sonic accidentally creating another soul link with Sonic and Sonic crying Mecha's tears of joy.

-Archie Metal Sonic sacrificing himself to save Sonic and Tails, then being reborn/rebuilt as their ally.
