My belated day 2 of Sonamy week! At first I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for the 90s theme, but then I watched a bunch of roller skating videos which reminded me that skate culture was a thing back then, so I thought it’d be cute to draw them skating together :)
Gave them some 90s inspired outfits (Sonic’s is based on the outfit my sister (@michdoodles) came up with for her entry) and a little backdrop inspired by Sega Genesis boxes
Overall I had a ton of fun drawing this but I wish it didn’t take me two days to do it xP

#gotten so many calls at work today and most are from bots or telemarketers#one in specific is this supposed David miller that wants to make sure I received some supposed Medicare benefits. I did not#cuz this is a business line. and dude just won’t get it either he keeps pushing it#so it’s gotta be a scam or he’s not very good with English which considering his south Asian accent is my guess#and then there’s the end of life insurance sellers that hang up as soon as I state my age#or the home improvement guys that do get it when I say this is a business line#and then of course the patients. had two or three call during the time I was trying to take lunch#and I’ve been the only front office person here since march so I have to take the calls or else#I do not recommend customer service office jobs for neurodivergents. you’ll go nuts#must be annoying to follow me and see a work complaint once a week but at least I’m complaining about work#and not about how a friend of mine is dating this guy I used to like and I think she could do sooo much better than him#or would you rather I do start complaining about that?#michdoodles thoughts#michdoodles rambles#telemarketers are the worst

#michdoodles thoughts#michdoodles rambles#last year’s Sonamy week worked out fine cuz I worked three days a week every other day back then#but this year I work four days with one day off in the middle (most of the time) so I guess I wanna be prepared for that?#basically I’ll just have less time for each piece overall with one somewhat free weekday#so figuring out what I want to do first is pretty important#also I had the neat idea of connecting all the prompts into one overarching story so hope it turns out well#last year I recorded speedpaints and posted them on my TikTok so hopefully I can repeat that for this year as well#I checked TikTok last week after a long dry spell and one of my 2024 Sonamy pieces was getting attention so yay

Sitting at work with a headache and there are men working in the office above but they talk so loud that I thought they were in our walls for a moment. Ah, and now we’ve been hearing like a wall or floor getting ripped out, a drill, pipes falling, the works. How am I supposed to work in these conditions?

I love making Sonic OCs that are just normal people, it helps bring out just how far everyone in the canon cast are from normal, especially if you make the OC develop a romantic or familial link with this crazy cast of characters
I need to do it more often
