Oc character drawing meme: Midas, 👜 - Personal items carried by or associated with your OC, in an arrangement, labelled.
Tumblr media
i forgot to label them in the end but look! i have drawn something! at long last!
To my mind, Midas is quite a prepared man; he's likely the friend you'd turn to when you've forgotten something on a day trip. He is not necessarily the most Organised man, at least at first glance. He'd find the thing you wanted, but only after digging through what seems like several thousand pockets. He insists he has a system. I'll believe it when I see it.
Item list under the cut.
This is a random minimal assortment of the things he's most likely to have. If i was letting him carry a bag there'd be much more.
Hence: handkerchief (monogrammed, possibly bought for him by his moms), period products, band-aids, wallet (ft. personal photos but I didn't want to draw bank cards or anything; he's probably also the kind of guy to collect punch cards for every food place he ever visits), lip balm (two varieties), hand sanitiser, hand cream, multi tool card (these things fascinate me. the scissors seem particularly unhelpful), safety pins, dog treats, small trinkets (he lives with lots of kids), small notebook, pencil, pen, and crayons.

WIP of a messy doodle.
I've always believed in the eternal hero soul theory of the bungie games. While Halo/Destiny/Marathon don't connect canonically, you can't deny the similarities. Hell MIDA Multi Tool literally references events in Marathon. So this drawing idea is bringing together Void, my ODST and Warlock.

I've been following what's going on with Marathon recently, and I think my one hope for the game is that there's a single, out-of-place Destiny gun that can be found, as a parallel to the existence of the MIDA Multi-Tool (and Mini-Tool) in Destiny. Because even funnier than the idea that some MIDA soldier somehow dropped his gun through a rift in reality itself is the idea that a Guardian on the other side of that rift in reality also dropped their own gun through it.

While the Bungie-related dates in the database could just be easter eggs, the Nine have previously brushed against the 4th Wall.
My silly theory is that, with the understanding that human history in Destiny is roughly the same as the real world until the arrival of the Traveler, the reason these dates are there is because when trying to detect temporal anomalies, the disturbance they found was whatever happened such that the in-universe game studio Bungie never developed Destiny, the video game.
The April 12th date, looking at the format, might actually be 04/01/2XXX, so April 1st in a year past 2000. This significantly narrows down the range of dates, but is also incredibly disappointing, because April 12th was the day of the Marathon (2025) reveal stream, and I was excited to bring up the MIDA Multi-Tool and suggest that the Nine are actually a version of the W'rkncacnter.
But April 1st this year was also the date that Act III of Heresy opened, so there could be something with that.
Alright, so some parts of the community puzzle were solved and a website was revealed. Aion-archive. The puzzle isn't over but there's stuff to do on the website with some cool info and teasers. The rest of the puzzle is so far in the process of people inputting a million codes and figuring things out which I don't really understand and I'm only interested in the end lore results so I'll talk about what we can read so far.
First of all, Aion was mentioned in Vesper's Host as "The Aion Initiative" during the secret quest with the collectibles:
Vesper Station: I’ve got the archive of Dr. Bray’s published staff memos. Petabytes of data in the raw files. Rasputin. The Stoneworm protocols. The Aion Initiative. Soteria. I had siblings this whole time. And you never let me know.
Unclear how this connects to anything, but it was definitely some sort of project back in the Golden Age.
Playing around on the site can let you access a home button and then it lists some options to go through:
Tumblr media
I'll put the rest under read more so people can play around by themselves without spoilers if they want and for length:
First of all, the missing numbers that are listed as alerts? You can still input them. So even though it says that 002, 004, 005, and 006 are missing, you can still select them and they give information. I'll drop all of them here and do some commentary because this is enrichment.
Input 001:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very interesting! So "Aion" stands for "Apollo Intertemporal Observation Network," investigating time dilation and temporal anomalies that go beyond simple light-speed issues. I'm absolutely losing it immediately because this is incredibly cool in so many ways. The possibility that The Edge of Fate will involve some time travel shenanigans is exciting. Hoping for more Vex stuff for sure!
Input 002:
Tumblr media
Obsessed. This is definitely why the whole thing was codenamed "Apollo" originally and some of our speculation about it was actually correct. Apollo, god of prophecy! Fascinated by the fact that this one aspect of Apollo was chosen as first description of him. Like, yeah, that part was incredibly important but Apollo was a god of many things. Either way, hello, I am going to be on the news.
Input 003:
Tumblr media
Stuff about chess, which is interesting because this is how we got to the website in the first place. I feel like we're playing chess with some entity beyond our comprehension that deals with time travel. What even is going on in Destiny.
Input 004:
Tumblr media
Not sure why this is mentioned, but it may have something to do with a later input. The Oort Cloud is a real thing (or at least a real theorised thing).
Input 005:
Tumblr media
Unclear what this connects to at the moment.
Input 006:
Tumblr media
Also unclear. "There is a place" is the same starter as the sentence in input 001: "There is a place where the numbers don't match." Referring to the temporal anomalies. I assume that's the same sentence?
Input 007:
Tumblr media
Unclear. Some of this stuff might get fully cleared up once the puzzle is completed and these gaps are filled. If they are going to be filled at all. We're not sure what the end of the puzzle will do actually.
Input 008:
Tumblr media
Interesting! This might explain the mention of the Oort Cloud? Trans-Neptunian objects are, also, a real thing and they exist in the space beyond Neptune from the Kuiper's Belt to the Oort Cloud. This text makes me also think of Nessus which is a similar object called a centaur that originally should've existed also around and beyond Neptune, but something messed with its orbit (presumably the Vex) and it was on collision course with the Exodus Black.
It's not unusual to consider a massive planetary object somewhere far out there that might be affecting the gravity and orbit of smaller objects, but it's interesting that this is a part of this whole text. Is the implication that we'll be discovering an unknown planet in the far reaches of the solar system? Bizarre because the teaser implied we're leaving the system entirely ("Kepler 15"), but also with the implied time travel shenanigans... who the hell knows. What are they cooking.
Input 009:
Tumblr media
Unclear. No clue what this may be referring to. Hoping for more information as the puzzle gets closer to solving.
Input 010:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also unclear. I assume that the red text is saying something along the line of "We made a mistake". Way too many gaps to know currently.
Input 011:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interesting! The first bit lists actual dates. 29th April 2025 (Signal confirmation) is when the puzzle started this Tuesday reset. 4th May 1991 (listed as "odd") is the date of when Bungie was founded. 9th September 2014 obviously when Destiny released. One more is down there but without the year so if anyone wants to hunt down what happened on the 12th of April in any year in human history... have fun.
The second set lists a few things that can also be input into the computer. So 11101 etc. can be searched. Here's what they give:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally:
Tumblr media
This bit is where the rest of the puzzle is currently happening, still with the in-game chess board if I understand correctly. People are inputting these codes which are codes you get from the chess board and then there's something going on with QR codes?? Which gives people some sort of string of letters to input into the computer and then they're compiling what works and what doesn't. This bit is unclear to me but it's also stuff that doesn't give any direct lore. I assume this all has to be sorted for the entire database to work properly and show all text.
And this is the last input, 012:
Tumblr media
Not much to say here, lots of stuff still missing.
Exciting stuff going on! I love community puzzles and weird shenanigans going on and it's such a cool teaser for the showcase next week and the reveal about The Edge of Fate. Can't wait to see what all of this is about, especially if we're legit going to be having some time travel stuff and weird Golden Age projects and possibly going out of the solar system.

destiny 2 post
two of my favourite exotic weapons in the game are forerunner and MIDA multi-tool. i feel like it's necessary to add that these are weapons from different games that bungie has also made, which makes me feel a little bad for preferring that, but then i thought about it a little more
a) i LOVE a lot of other exotics that originated in destiny 2, namely dead man's tale, edge of concurrence (hunter glaive), tarrabah, and sleeper simulant (okay that's a destiny 1 exotic but like, shut up lmao)
b) this just goes to show that bungie is not only passionate about their franchises, but they will go the extra mile to make sure these weapons feel good in a different environment. like forerunner is an absolute powerhouse just like the halo CE magnum, and has a unique perk with the catalyst that converts your grenade into a frag grenade. MIDA multi tool canonically comes from the marathon universe, and as such it can't technically be banned in the crucible, which is really funny
c) it's okay to enjoy things, and it's doubly okay to reject being a meta slave in favour of using cool things that you really enjoy, because it's a video game and nothing actually matters
d) the animations team and the sound design team deserve a big basket of cookies
reject modernity, return to magnum
thank you

I revisited all my old answers. Not a lot of edition, a couple points here and there were incorrect, but most changes were developments of the story
Freija's answers
1. Sunny. They agreed on this name shortly after they defeated Eramis.
2. The Dreaming City
3. Right after the Red War
4. Sunbreaker! With Sol Invictus and whatever the one that isn't Consecration is. For PvE, she is currently loving Path of Burning Steps and Drang/Sturm, Mida multi/calus mini, and Sunshot (or Polaris Lance)/One Small Step with Osmosis. For PvP, it's been Citan's and Mida, with whatever energy weapon we're trying at the moment. Settling lately on fusion rifles, but not which one yet. It's Sunshot and an M5 or mountaintop these days
5. Confusion, gratitude, confusion, satisfaction, concern, acceptance. (The hive getting rezzed was the concern bit.)
6. Yes, but only because she rezzed as Arc and that shit just does not come naturally. She got better with Void, but finding solar really helped her out. Changed this. The only struggle has ever been how much she liked or didn't like it.
7. No, and nor does she. It all feels really distant. Sunny did look into it. She's still not happy about this.
8. She likes running with a fire team for braindead activities, times she gets to be a Titan for the team and hold the line or tank; and Rise-26 is one of her best friends and a great teammate; but dungeon puzzles are occasions where she wants no witnesses.
9. Neither. She ain't getting involved in any of that shit. It's politics at best and while Drifter is nasty, no one else is automatically the good guys.
10. The Darkness is a tool, same as the Light. It's power. She doesn't like stasis at all, reminds her of Arc.
11. She came to the conclusion before Savathun said it, but Savathun saying it gave her a sense of conviction-- the Traveler is building an army to protect itself. The Guardians being naturally inclined to violence like we are (especially hearing about the first Awoken guardian and the changes from his previous life to his rezzed one) indicates a call for it.
12. Freija understands that Sunny feels they are soul mates in a sense, and this all by itself makes their intentions good, no matter what the Traveler was doing when it separated. They love each other very much. Sunny cherished Freija the entire relationship, from the moment they found her, and while she was uncertain and afraid at first, trust and love grew quickly and easily. They take turns with the brain cell and the compassion, they're good to each other and like to hang out when there's no one else around. It's really cute. – I forgot I ever thought Sunny used They
13. She has determined that she is indeed a guardian of humanity, Awoken and Exo and Earthling. After the Eliksni and Cabal got involved, it's more of a knowing-who-your-friends-are thing. She tries to keep it simple--shoot at who's shooting at her.
14. Probably her own self-doubt. I haven't given her any good traumatic experiences. – but the game story sure did! Her nightmare is a badly damaged Winter Lotus shell with a dead Ghost and Sunny's voice, howling about how much she fucked up and failed to protect her.
15. Guardian Games! Dawning is second place.--Solstice grows more important every year
16. Drink with Rise, chill out in the Dreaming City, crucible.
17. Sometimes, but mostly as an observer. She feels very apart from normal people.
18. Probably more than she should. She's pretty generous
19. Bullets. A shotgun shell. Extra ghost shell pieces. Specifically an ear projector from the Hareball shell
20. Not that I know, haha
21. She rooms with (my other ocs) Thomas and Freija-3. Three
~
Thomas's
1. Rex. The Ghost named himself before he met Thomas
2. The cosmodrome A forest in central/Western Europe
3. Post Crota, pre Red War just before the Rise of the Iron Lords
4. he's not picky, he likes a little of everything and can do anything– This changed when he discovered Strand, and the Darkness has made the Light easier for him to use with Prismatic
5. He's treated it with a degree of curiosity and fascination.
6. Actually, kinda yeah. Something about it just isn't as easy to him. The running joke is that he was meant to be a Titan (because I play him the same way I play my Titan and try to use rift defensively and forget which grenade I'm using and I can platform pretty well but just...)
7. He does care, very curious, but he respects the taboo and he also doesn't even know where to begin to look for himself. (He did check fingerprint data, but if he ever got printed, the data was destroyed.) – he got help from Freija and Sunny to help him find it. He didn't like what he found, but he does feel like he's that guy's second chance at life, sort of.
8. fireteam. He likes Rise's Titan best – he needs a team, but he's insecure so he doesn't like keeping unfamiliar teammates
9. Dredgen if anything, but he doesn't really like the faction things  he is entirely not dealing with any of that shit.
10. Space Magic, same as the Light
11. He shares suspicions of roommates and is pretty sure the Traveler is building an army, but he is also sure that Eido (Misraak's daughter) was right when she said the Eliksni would never be Guardians like us--and that's why the Traveler dipped on them. Our crucible, our grenades, throwing ourselves off the Tower sooner than using the stairs-- we are a good army to have. You take out the fear of death and humans will do whatever they want.-- since TFS, he's not sure what the fuck is going on with the damn thing. He doesn't think much about it anymore.
12. He's fond of his ghost. He regards Rex as his friend, and Rex is obviously attached to Tom, but Rex has a sense of duty that Thomas lacks that leads to bumping heads. – I love how delicately I put this. Thomas pities Rex and regards Rex as his Ghost, a role of its own
13. This, he lacks. He shoots back, same as Freija, but he has that, "everyone is the hero in their own story" idea in mind and knows everyone is just trying to live, so he wants to carve as a perfect a spot as he can for himself.
14. Himself as Rex would have him be. A strong sense of justice and genuine guardian of humanity, instead of an immortal slacker. That's Rex's nightmare. Thomas kept a small band of humans very early on, and a little boy starved to death one winter. Haunts him five hundred years later
15. He likes all of them and loves to see everyone dress up for the occasions.
16. Read Dark Age history books and explore Earth nope. He's a writer. Fiction and non
17. Not a lot. He feels too far removed from the adults, but he likes to talk to kids, and he plays with the children of the city, human and eliksni i was wrong about this one, too. He very much likes the civilians and makes excuses to venture into the city and people-watch and I'm pretty sure there's a family of humans descendent from his collection
18. A little too much, and he's an impulse shopper
19. A small notebook and pen, several map datacards, and at least one book.
20. He is crushing horribly on Rise's Titan.
21. He's also fond of Rise's Warlock.
~~
Three
For Three
The color kind of
1. She won't name it, but it won't name itself
2. Earth, but she's not sure where exactly.
3. She doesn't remember, but it was a long ass time ago. Maybe even Dark Ages.
4. Void, all the grenade launchers she can carry, and she likes sniping but isn't that good at it. And now prismatic is bringing her the best of all of it
5. All kinds of things. After her first reset after her first rez, she went insane for a while, and was wracked with something like survivors guilt. She's still kinda uncomfortable with it but what's she gonna do, tell the ghost to stop? Didn't know a lot about Exos. Nor Three. She regarded waking up with curiosity at first, but the more she learned about the Traveler, the angrier she got about it.
6. Not even a little. Came real natural.
7. No, and she did but now she doesn't anymore.
8. Loner. Generally doesn't even like to talk to people. Very tight with those she loves.
9. Dredgen. Honesty in upfront dishonesty over hiding all the dirt under the rug, every time
10. Space Magic.
11. It's DEFINITELY only looking out for Number One, and what it did to the Eliksni was such complete and utter bullshit. That her roommates share suspicions of its intentions is only icing on the cake. This has only gotten worse as recent events have continued.
12. She took a while to warm up to her ghost, and she still harbors a suspicion that it's up to something, no matter how much it's worked to keep her up and help. It's an agent of the Traveler, and whatever is going on with that shit can backfire at any moment.
However, it HAS been with her, and it does shut up when she tells it to, and they get into shit together, and the ghost does have an appreciation for when she's particularly successful at Hunter Bullshit.
13. She is fond of being Risen, but a Guardian of the Vanguard, not so much. Only by association and loosely. She tolerates her perpetual life, but she thinks it's fucked up
14. Her nightmare is definitely a fallen friend that she failed to help. Maybe they were mortal, maybe a guardian getting their light ruined by the Hive (she's got a real fucking issue with the Hive.) But she still feels guilty about it. I think they had a charm she kept. – Ardrys, Kell of a House that rose and fell on Earth. Several hundred years ago, Three killed her and her band to make an example and keep her own House safe, and to this day it makes her sick to remember.
15. The Not-Halloween stuff for sure. She loves seeing everyone dress up, and it's usually a chill event. She LIED TO ME. Solstice of Heroes, though she takes the remembering the dead part of Festival of the Lost very seriously
16. Scavenge and Junk Dive, investigate space debris for valuables or momentos of the casualties
17. Yep, and her favorites is the Eliksni down in the Quarter
18. As much as she happens to have, but she doesn't think much about it and will give what she has away to anyone that looks like they could use it.
19. Shoestrings, nuts and bolts, a pen and paper, a map, glimmer, bits and bobs.
20. Plenty
21. She started rooming with Freija cos they have the same name. She was already going with her Reset Number. Her real name is Mavis-17

Looks like the Server's gone down, if the four random games it thinks I played in as it fumbled it's way to telling me

Eight victories away from IRON LORD. Ah well, there's always next time.
I played 79 games of Iron Banner this time around, all with Randos, and managed to pull in 45 wins during all that, which I am more than happy with
I also got to play with a few new weapons and I think the Mida Multi-Tool may be my current favourite Scout Rifle
Tumblr media
Isn't it precious!

Not that I’m really wanting that Iron Lord title, but I’ve broken out the notepad and invoked the powers of the immaterium to help 🤣

“It’s admirable the foundries are trying to redesign it for mass production, but I’m skeptical. You can’t always copy a classic.”
“Why not?”
“Well, this replica might have the same specs, on paper: comparable ballistics, same impact rating, same caliber output, all that, plus matching optics, stock and shock absorption, yada, yada, yada. But what if they leave out the stellar sextant?”
“...Pardon?”
“What if they haven’t included the subsystems and subsidiary functions of the original? And how could they, if they want to make it cost-effective? How are you gonna convince management the gun needs to have the stellar sextant when nobody ever uses it?”
“Uh, but why bother if nobody uses it?”
“Exactly! That’s just what they’ll say—but here’s the thing: what if it doesn’t matter that we don’t use the stellar sextant? What if it matters that it’s there? What if those subsystems contribute to the gun’s... I dunno... the gestalt of its functionality?”
“You think having a stellar sextant was somehow part of why the MIDA series performed like they did?”
“Yes! Yes, exactly!”
“Even if that’s possible... how would we know if it’s true?”
“Well, for starters, we’ll have to see how these new-made copies measure up to originals. If their performance does fall short, and the foundry folks can’t put a finger on it—maybe that means I’m on to something. Maybe it’s the stellar sextant.”
