pt 3. pigtails! w/ bangs

(ok all this stuff i said in the previous posts so you can skip it if you've seen it)

in honor of bhm i wanted to show some cute hairstyles i do with my very coily hair as a lolita!! as i said prior representation of different hair textures in alternative fashion is super important!!

- necessary preface i have no clue what texture hair i have esp bc it's long/heavy/gets weighed down even with shrinkage but if i had to guess it's like 4c/4b (the rest of my family has looser curls so it's been very "uhh i think im doing this right" regarding my hair - esp considering my mom, grandma, etc were def a victim to that over straightening and frying their hair to fit in) ୭˚. ᵎᵎ

- in case you're wondering what i do to my hair the answer is umm i have no clue what im doing? im trying to get myself on a hair washing schedule (gonna try every other week and see how that works bc i know i can't maintain once a week) i use literally just normal pantene and then leave in conditioner (the mielle pomegranate one) + argon oil

- for my bangs i braid them separate from the rest of my hair and then when i go to bed and put my bonnet on etc i keep my bangs stretched out and separated via that braid!! ..and then i trim them if they get in my face too much.. anywho use shrinkage to your advantage y'all!!

idk why i feel like for me bows are very hit or miss depending on how my bangs are cooperating that day!

Wow. First of all. Thank you. Thank you all so much. I love and appreciate every single one of you. I’m tearing up even writing this. Well… typing… I fucking love you all so much. I may not know you. And here’s Dagmara telling her dad that she wants to volunteer for realsies (she was always for realsies about it, he just never took her seriously…)

She hears it leaking into his tone, the doubt, the disbelief. “You need to be sure, Dagmara.”

“I am.”

Her father sighs, undoubtedly patronizing. “This isn’t some kind of decision you make lightly, Dagmara, I don’t think you understand that.”

“I do—”

“Do you?” Pointed. Dismissive. “This isn’t about your weapon skills or endurance or any of that bullshit they tell you in training; there will be twenty-five others— yes, twenty-five,” he says when she opens her mouth— “who will want this far more than you have ever wanted anything in your entire life. You’ve never even wanted so much as a new bicycle! What could you possibly want so badly that you are willing to risk your life?!”

It’s not about want, she doesn’t say. Instead, “I made a promise.”

Overconfidence requires a person to think that one posses more power than they actually have. And that simply is not the case with me.  I know exactly how much power I wield. 

If your attempt to disguise your nature ways genuine, it was quite pitiful.  I am now inclined to believe that someone did bring you back to life. Possibly in an attempt to gain a tool to use against me.  While the most likely explanation is still that your own feelings towards me provided you with enough energy to return as some kind of ethereal undead, your resurrection by some individual is a much more believable occurrence than you somehow returning as a vampire.

It seems that since your revivial, you have visited my tower, and survived. Though you failed to learn the lesson that surviving my greatest treasure was meant to instate in you. Tragic.

But enough deductions. I am here to question you, not flaunt my intellect.

What did my half-assed impression of your girlfriend give it away? Let’s see, you boringly didn’t leave much room for interpretation by essentially narrating the supposed moral at the end. hey i saw your post about your hair. i have the same hair texture. For the texture I use shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, i also would use an anti frizz serum if you have frizz like me. I also use a very hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

but for the hair loss I have heard really amazing things about tail and main (i think it’s called) it’s super cheap (it is technically for horses lmao) but it works really well to give you shiny strong thick hair. I have also heard amazing things about prenatal vitamins for hair and nails.

Thank you for answering! I used to use tail and mane all the time and really liked it! I can't find it anywhere though. I went and bought some new products today at Target like Mielle hair oil and Aussie mousse+leave in conditioner. I'll look into the prenatal vitamins, that sounds interesting. I don't wanna take them from the pregnant women who need them though lol 😭

pt 1. natural - no bangs

Riven and Aisha had agreed to head to Lynphea together for a quick getaway, so Riven picked Aisha up in Andros since her parents wouldn’t let her travel alone. They made their way through the more populated side of Lynphea until they reached the small village where Flora lived.

Riven was more than a little surprised when he knocked on the door of Flora’s house and the door opened to reveal a tiny girl with strawberry blonde hair and Flora’s big green eyes. She frowned slightly when she saw them.

“Hey,” Riven started, “you’re Mielle right?”

Mielle didn’t answer, instead slowly tilting her head as if to examine them with inmense curiosity.

“We’re uh… we’re here to see Flora.” Aisha tried, “I’m-“

“Aisha… and Riven, right?” Mielle finished for them.

“Yeah.”

“Flora’s at the market.” Mielle tapped her fingers twice against the door before seemingly making a choice and stepping outside, “Come on, I’ll take you there.”

Aisha and Riven exchanged a glance as Mielle passed them and started making her way to their right.

“Shouldn’t you tell your parents you’re going out? Do you even know how to make it to the market?”

Mielle turned to look at them, “They’re used to me coming and going. And yes, I know how to make it to the market. I’m a whole eight years old. Now come on!”

They traded a glance again and Riven shrugged before going to follow Flora’s sister.

Mielle did not take them to Flora, instead giving them a whole tour of the village and the farmers market, where everyone seemed to be familiar with her, one of the bakers giving her a free muffin and a cup of coffee he assured Aisha to be decaf in a whisper.

“That Mielle is our little adventurer, are you friends of her sister’s?” The baker asked Riven while Mielle dragged Aisha to a nearby tree, saying something about the fruit that grew from the tree.

“Yeah, she said she was going to take us to her… two hours ago.”

The baker snorted, “That means she likes you. Flora is more likely than not at the greenhouse. You’re going to walk straight ahead until you hit a fork in the road, head to your right and you’ll know it when you see it.”

“Thank you.”

Riven almost had a heart attack when Mielle randomly jumped off the tree, barely managing to catch the small girl, falling to the floor, to keep her from hitting the floor.

Mielle got up like nothing had happened, “So, you ready to head down to the greenhouse?” She spun around without waiting for a response and skipped down the path.

After almost another hour, during which Mielle tried to teach them to catch rabbits and how to call on squirrels and birds.

They finally arrived at the greenhouse to see Flora looking at two beakers with bright red and green liquids, holding them against the light.

It took her a moment to realize that they were there.

She quickly placed the beakers down, “Oh is it time already? Do you wanna head down to the farmers market?”

Riven and Aisha worldlessely collapsed on the first couch they found while Mielle quickly agreed with Flora.

Both. And I think the best way to answer this is with an AU of an AU.

Aka, what would have happened if The King and Queen had given Mielle to Phil.

Felix would have grown up as the Perfect Crown Prince. He would bear all the burden of a kingdom's future on his shoulders. He would know what his parents sacrificed for him to stand at their side. They would dote on him, and love him, and make sure he valued the people of their Kingdom as much as they valued him. And when he was 8 and his mother was going to have another baby? He would be SO EXCITED. He has a protective heart, and instead of latching on to a younger sister he doesn't have, it would latch onto a much younger brother. So small, and a miracle that the King and Queen never expected. And instead of standing guard for a sister he doesn't have, he would be the proudest older brother. Every time Techno achieved anything, Felix would be his biggest cheerleader. He would absolutely suffocate Techno with love.

He'd be a Good Brother.

Mielle would live with Philza and Kristin and be doted on her entire life. But she wouldn't be any more inherintly enchanting than other fae. She wouldn't be allowed to act out in cruel or callous ways. (No more than any other Faerie, anyway). She wouldn't think the world revolved around her. She would be careful with her words, and not say things to hurt others because she knew someone would call her out on it. Fae can be vindictive, and she couldn’t act as she wanted. She would have actual CONSEQUENCES for her actions, and that would be GOOD for her. She would be better for it.

She'd be a Good Faerie.

Honestly, the King and Queen going back on their word hurt all of their children. But in their defense, they can't exactly see the future. I am absolutely a believer that people are a product of the environment they are raised in. And even if the King and Queen had good intentions, they WEREN'T the right environment.
